Location: The Gala Status: Closed @hayesarcher
Brooklyn was getting herself a drink when she felt someone approaching, turning around she saw Hayes a few steps away. "Fancy seeing you out here in the wild." She joked. "Unfortunately for you, there will be no dances here tonight." Hayes was starting to get on her nerves, not because he did anything wrong, but because she was starting to anticipate his presence at the club, and almost miss when he wasn't around. Slippery slope Brookie.

open to all ! event 001: masquerade, enchanted evening @inaducursehqstarters
Kaya, mystified by the lights and the music and the gowns, floated amongst the crowd. While her mask did conceal her face, she was certain almost everyone could tell who she was. There wasn't much anonymity to these things, at least not as much as she'd hoped.
She'd hoped to have a good night, prayed even. But when she'd spotted the demon across the room, she'd nearly fled all the way home. Instead, she stopped at the bar. The anger that rose into her throat when she saw him was nearly too much to bear.
Throwing a hand up to signal the bartender, Kaya ordered two shots, both for herself. She finished the first before the bartender finished pouring the second, then ordered one more for good measure. If she were to survive this crowded party full of all the scariest people in town, she would do it with a little extra confidence.
Unfortunately, someone caught her in the act. Not that she tried to be sneaky in her shot-taking, but she preferred not to be seen drinking her feelings. "What?" Kaya snarled. "It's a party."

arrive, enjoy two to four songs by spellbound, partake in the refreshments while secluding herself in the corner, unless pulled out of said corner by her friends. that was her plan for the evening. melinda was out of her element, she dressed up more than she usually did and the heels were highly uncomfortable, even with the cushioning charm. however, pushing herself out of her comfort zone was on her new years resolution list. so here she was.

Tabitha events 001: Pumpkin Palooza
Tabitha has always loved Pumpkin Palooza, and always wanted to have her own booth at the festival. She eventually convinced her old boss to create a stall for Shadow's Curiosities, branded as a special, once a year shop sponsored by Little Red Barn Antiques. She sells a mix of regular antiques and magical antiques with enchantments that are so old they barely work anymore and can easily be dismissed as a flight of fancy. While most of the objects are pumpkin adjacent, either in shape or color, some are simply old and interesting.

open: @fideliusstarters location: the great hall, buffet table
all graham had been hearing about the last few days was just how great the spellbound were. their mere return to the stage had drawn a gaggle of students closer, rabid for a closer look. graham seemed to have the opposite reaction, given when the first song started to play, his boots led him step by step further from the stage "what a fucking headache," he'd mumbled as he met the buffet. of anything that might remedy his foul mood, food was the most accessible and so a pumpkin pasty found itself in his hand, then his mouth rather quickly.

closed: @adrianxpucey location: courtyard, during masquerade
as romilda had sat tucked in one of the open arches fencing the courtyard, she could still feel the bits of sweat clinging to her skin. after raising her heartbeat a bit and moving to the music upon the dancefloor, the heat had gotten to her and a bit of scottish october air seemed the only cure. that and a bit of something special she'd had stowed away. or, well, at least that'd been the plan until she'd realized her wand was upstairs and her lighter along with it— both abandoned, either forgotten or thought unnecessary. and so it was, when she'd heard footsteps come her way, romilda had tilted back, peeked at what she could spot of their attire (as to make herself certain it wasn't a professor), and called out. "any chance you've got a light?" her lips pressed together with hope, then with need. "i might be willing to share."

an open starter for anyone interested! where: the gryffindor common room when: september 13th, 1978 what: event 001 @noxstarters
This party wasn't the complete failure Alecto had expected, though she wouldn't go so far as to call it a success either. It was passable enough, with enough food that even someone as picky as her could find something to eat and the not-at-all illicitly-obtained alcohol certainly did not hurt. It didn't do much to stop Alecto's eyes from fixing on the truly horrific amount of scarlet littering the place, though, and she took a long, slow sip of her firewhiskey as she stared at one of the tapestries, attempting to set it on fire with just her eyes.
As someone walked up to her, Alecto did not pull her gaze from her target. "This entire common room is hideous," she observed with a sneer. "I'm tempted to confringo the whole bloody place." Finally turning to look at the person that had approached her, Alecto raised one eyebrow. "From the look on your face, something just happened. What is it? Tell me everything."

Open Starter : Event 001 Location: The Festival Grounds
Maya had been busy at her stand, selling various ailments and remedies. And some herbs on the side, of course. But it was time for a much needed break, so she could enjoy the festival herself. At first, she wandered aimlessly, simply taking in her surroundings. But she found herself standing in front of the various food and drink, so perfectly laid out, basically on silver platters just for her. "Oh, is that good? It looks unreal," she asks the person next to her, eyes on their plate before looking up at their face.

"'old still a tick, would 'ya?" ant asked, though acted before receiving any sort of reply. before words of response could be given, he'd placed himself behind the other, using their body as a shield to hide the flask he'd had stowed away begin pouring into his cup. "gots plenty if 'ya wantin' some. person-ly tink pumpkin juice needs'a bit'a whiskey." as his half-full cup was now raised near to its brim, ant peeked up, looking at maisie, or at least the back of her head. "'ya change sometin'?"

status: closed, @jonaymrtnz location: cemetery, willowsedgeevent001
during the speeches shared across freshly turned dirt, ren had been battling with his own gaze. the grief and reason for even being there, was the casket he watched lower down, down, down. and yet he kept looking across where someone else stood. every so often, his brown eyes would lift and catch with jonay's, just like they used to, and like before, his chest would hollow. his heart would thump, just before it fell. guilt.
the guilt was the reason he kept looking away, never having vanished in the last few years, let alone the last few days. ren liked the idea of staying apart for now, june's grave between them. and yet when the time came to place roses atop the coffin, the one, ren, found himself in front of the other, jonay. and his throat thickened. he was always someone with something to say but holding that rose and placing it down, it wasn't until after, until several steps back that he could wet his lips and look at jonay properly. "she deserved fucking better." a blanket statement for sure, but ultimately hitting that main nail on the head.

after somehow existing out on the dancefloor, a feat that would take him time to even adjust into accepting as reality, he had needed a seat. though not one without the presence of a filled plate. as goyle took his seat at a table, he did so with a collection from the buffet, and of that a bite already in his mouth as their butt met the chair. after a minute of settling in, chewing, leaning back, greg had looked to his side, only just then noticing the table had not been empty. "you try the treacle tart?" he asked after swallowing his bite down, adam's apple bobbing harshly.

While Candice and Brooklyn weren't besties, she did enjoy conversations with the older women, she loved the insight she had and her perspectives. "See! I told you not to worry. You look amazing. That dress is everything." She said as she walked up to the other. "Drinking tonight?"

closed — @salvatcres event 001: masquerade, enchanted evening (post-update) trigger warnings: violence, blood, death
The masquerade was in full swing by that point, and Laurie had spotted his friend across the room post... adventure in the hallway. He'd manage to reassemble his outfit in a semi-passable manner. The top button of his undershirt was still undone, and while he did put his coat back on, he hadn't bothered with the velvet gloves. And his mask, well, it wasn't situated under his hair as nicely, though the hat covered for that. So overall, he didn't look quite so rumpled. At least none of his items were outright ripped.
He raises a champagne flute to Damon, in celebration of the night, being pulled from his ripper ways for at least the time being, and to decades of friendship. As Laurie was known to do, he took a large gulp of the champagne and immediately knew something was wrong. Vervain. He'd never forget what it felt like to drink, what it felt like on his skin. He spit the champagne out, his mouth and throat burning, and doubled over coughing.
Meeting Damon's eyes, he didn't feel the need to convey the message. His friend was all too familiar with the herb, as well. He coughed out the next words, "I think we need to go." It didn't occur to him in that moment that Damon was human and therefore safe, but he started to run (at a lowly human pace — how embarrassing). Turning down a hallway away from the main room, he felt for a moment that he'd make it out just fine.
