"No need to look as though you've been volunteered for your own funeral..." Gideon hummed, approaching the rattled brunette after having watched his sister saunter off.
Basic sympathy necessitated that he should say something.
"I promise she's not as scary as she seems. And Henry's a decent guy, all things considered." Present options in the room considered as well.

Location: Haringey
Normally he wouldn’t set foot in this part of Haringey without a tetanus shot first, but some jobs required a bit more personal of a touch to ensure completion. Now that he’d sacrificed a few operators at the hands of the ravenous Italians, it became more imperative than ever to circumvent any further loss of merchandise or personnel.
Ipso facto, here he stood in some long forgotten corner of this pit stained borough. Flanked by his own employees on multiple sides, their business had just begun wrapping up when one of them clasped the arm of a woman who’d made the poor choice to take a shortcut.
Not a worthwhile threat by the look of her, but he painted on a falsely affable demeanor nonetheless.
“A bit late out, isn’t it?”

"Your affiliation with the Russians makes it my business." And quite frankly, she wasn't asking. Not after Ayda's new friends littered a well known French establishment with enough holes to entice the city's sewer rats. It echoed the sort of carnage she hadn't properly witnessed since Launceston, no question who was responsible.
Meeting someone. Color Giordana shocked. "Leave. Now. Consider this your one free warning before someone else notices you." Not that the other woman deserved ample time to flee, but enough blood had been spilled this evening and she couldn't guarantee the French wouldn't strike Ayda down on principal. Even now her gaze continued to scan the rooftops and bystanders while she spoke, "Or go ahead and illegally cross the police tape into an active crime scene. Draw even more attention to yourself."
The last person Ayda was expecting to see was Giordana, considering they had only spoken a handful of times. Her brows knit together in confusion, pulling her hand free. She was not going anywhere, not until she knew Varden was safe.
"Excuse me? My presence here is really none of your business." Her head turning back to the cars blocking what she needed to see. The body on the ground had her sole attention. "If you need to know, I was meeting someone for dinner." That was all she was going to say on the matter.
"I'll be fine." She continues down, spotting a place where there wasn't someone standing and she could slip underneath.

Ahoy-hoy! 25, she/her, looking to do some roleplays based in various fandoms. I’m an advanced-lit writer who writes 4 paragraphs at the minimum (and very often maxes out the word limit on discord rip) looking for a writing partner with a similar writing length!! (And one who has the same obsession with hurt/comfort as I do aaah) Looking for long-term roleplays with writers who are 21+. I love plotting, coming up with headcanons, sharing edits and art and music that relates to our muses and just gushing over our characters and threads. I prefer to write on discord and will make us servers to write, plot, etc! Here’s the dynamics I’d like to write (italicized names are the characters I prefer playing!) I am also totally down to roleplay OC based plot lines and things in any of these fandoms as well! However I don’t double. If interested please like this and I’ll reach out!

ayda--demir:
Relief washed over Ayda when Gideon didn’t go off on her about who she was. It was always a fear to her. It was something she grew up in Haringey where most would avoid her because of who she was. Times were changing, but she still had some worries about peoples intentions. She was certain he felt the same being a Rutherord.
She gives him a small smile, pushing away from her desk, slowly making her way over to the couch he was sitting on, taking her own seat but keeping some distance between them. It was a lot of information to take in and he was probably connecting some dots here and there.
“Is it odd that I like the fact you got to know the real me? My whole life, which I am sure you can relate, and the way people have treated me was because of a name I was born into? It’s rather tiring – the expectations that come with it.”
Her body turns to look at him and she can’t help but laugh when he asks if she works for his family. “Gideon, to be honest with you, I am the worst person to have in a gang.” She didn’t mean to laugh, but thinking back to her life and what it meant in the gang, how she lasted as long as she did baffled her. “No, I do not work for your family. I have been out of the gang life for over the last two years.” Ayda didn’t know how open to be, but she never had a reason to hide who she was. “I am a failure in my pa’s eyes. I didn’t turn into the daughter he wanted me to be, I was too kind. He has even threatened me with an arranged marriage.” She shrugs her shoulders, that was still something she had time to deal with. The ultimate way to deal with it would have her family turn their back on her.
“My brother helped me leave when I couldn’t take it anymore. He helped me find a place and gave me money to start my bar. I’ve paid him back, and this…” She looks around the room, “it’s all mine.” Her hands fold in her lap.
“Do you have any other questions?” She smiles softly at him. Ayda had only touched the surface, but didn’t want to talk his ear off this soon. She also knew it could be a lot to take in.
.
He watches Ayda Demir as she gets out of her chair and rounds the corner of her desk, making her way over to the couch. He feels the seat dip gently beneath him as she takes the far end, eyes never leaving her face all the while. In some ways, he feels as though he’s looking at someone else, someone different... Or maybe it’s just that he’s seeing her for the first time, the Ayda she really is, all the puzzle pieces fitted together in a way he’d failed to recognize before.
“I wouldn’t want you to, don’t get me wrong.” Gideon interjects, lest she get the wrong impression. “Work for my family, that is. I really wouldn’t, I-...” He grimaces, unable to convey simply the net effect of two decades’ worth of very complicated, very painful feelings about the family ‘business’ and his loved ones’ involvement in it. He looks at Ayda, shaking his head. “It wouldn’t bring me any joy if you did.”
“And I’m sorry that Nevra is, although I confess I don’t know her well enough to understand the reasons why.” What could possibly compel her to want to work for the Rutherfords as an organization, considering the sentiment that predominates about them in Haringey?... Despite the little he knows about the Turkish gang, the eldest Rutherford son certainly isn’t immune to that. He takes another sip of his whiskey, this one more measured, before replacing the glass on the coffee table.
“What did your father want you to be?” He asks, letting slip a derisive snort. “You’re alive, aren’t you?... Isn’t that enough for him? You might not be, if you were still affiliated with a mob.” Rutherford, Turkish, or any other for that matter.
It isn’t a career that promises longevity.
Ayda smiles at him, pretty and serene as she waves a hand at their surroundings and tells him that she’s cut loose from the mob, built a place of her own that she’s so clearly proud of... She has a lot to be proud of if it’s true, Gideon thinks as he nods in acknowledgement. He doubts it was an easy feat. And although he’s deeply cynical nowadays, for some reason he doesn’t doubt her. He doesn’t think she’s lying to him.
“You’ve done well for yourself.” He remarks, a note of sincerity in his voice. “I told you that once before, back when we’d properly met... But I mean it even more now.”

-
Ayda listens to the woman speak, her eyes flickering down to the two drinks in front of her. She is grateful that what was being asked contained no alcohol, not wanting to be rude and decline the offer.
The last few weeks have proved to be difficult and it felt like at any moment something could trigger to indulge in what she was trying to keep away from.
Her fingers curl around the glass with the green liquid, using one of the cocktail straws to take a sip, her nose wrinkling a little. “It’s a little sweet for my linking. Green is usually a weird colour for a drink.” Ayda did have her own bar, and tended to try to stay away from colours like that.
Next she tries the peach looking one and is quite pleased with it. “What is in this one? I really like it. It isn’t too sweet.” The Turk takes another sip of it.
“Which one is yours?” She asks the woman beside her.
+
Not wishing to bias the answer, she only nods solemnly in response to the patron’s judgement of Gabriele’s monstrosity. Just as predicted. When her own receives a more favorable review, she answers any follow ups without hesitation. “Grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave nectar, club soda,” her fingers count each additive in rhythm, “and if you’re really feeling fancy, salt around the rim. Basically a Paloma without the tequila, no one’s trying to reinvent the wheel here.”
Her gaze trails over to the customer with a conspiratorial expression, the kind that only women hold between one another when a lackluster man is involved. “The contender that doesn’t remind people of St. Patrick’s Day.” Which officially settles their little wager and removes any qualms about lording it over his head when he returns. Both of her palms settle on the bar top as she leans back slightly in triumph. “I guess now we just wait until the poison kicks in.” Joking. Obviously.

ayda--demir:
When: May 29, 2023 Where: Outside a Flower Shop Who: @giordirossi
Ayda was busy taking care of the funeral services for Zeynep, they were going to do it following weekend and she couldn’t let her parents do it. They were a mess and each time they tried to decide on something, they both broke down. A huge part of her wanted to break down with them, but she couldn’t. She had to be strong for them. The Turk pushed all the pain and hurt, where she wanted to hide under blankets and cry, and put a smile on her face.
She was coming out of a flower shop when she opened the door, not paying attention, and it bumped into someone. Her eyes widened and she quickly looked up at the person. “I’m so sorry.” It only took her a second to remember the face. “Giordana, right?” This made her feel even worse.
+
They always had flowers. Even on the gloomiest of days, even when her mother buckled slightly beneath the exhaustion of running a household and raising two children; she always kept a bouquet alive on the kitchen table. Occasionally the stems were gifted by her father on his way home, or purchased spontaneously for the simple pleasure of it. Giordana must have unknowingly absorbed that habit somewhere along the line because it persisted even now in her own home.
Just as she rounded the entryway to a little shop, one hand caught its door mere centimeters before collision with her face. “You’re fine,” she assured. “It happens.” As her palm fell away from the barrier, the brunette immediately recognized this other woman from Vespucci’s. Curious.
“Solid memory.” Almost impressively so, but the compliment merely settled in the amused raise of her brow. “And you’re Ayda with the good taste. I don’t forget people who help me win bets.”

ayda--demir:
Stranger things have happened, but to hope that Berat would come chasing after her, that was holding onto a dream. A dream that would never be a reality. If he wanted her, he would have done so by now. They both played their part, but he fucked up. He made her feel worthless whilst she waited for him to come home.
“It might be best to let go.” Saying those words out for someone to hear, it was almost freeing, but also seemed to have the last piece of her heart break.
Ayda didn’t want to be pushy. Gideon was still new to her, and some things were best left for when people knew each other better. “Four, that must be a fun age.” She had been around cousins when they were that age, and they always seemed to have the most vivid imagination. “I will have to remember that, four and three quarters. He will almost be five.” There was a sincere smile that pulled at her lips. “Almost time for school.”
Her head shakes at him. “No, I don’t have kids. I want them.” Ayda wanted to be a mother. A wife. She wanted to have a family. “Maybe one day. If I am not too old.” She teases, though afraid that it could be too late by the time she ever lets anyone in.
What he says isn’t wrong, and she knew at some point she would have to do it. She would have to get rid of all things that were his and let the void take her; not for long. “I think you are right. What do us over dramatic women do.” She pauses for a moment. “We burn it, right?” A coy smile pulls at her features briefly. The air around them seemed a little lighter and she wasn’t feeling the pain like she was earlier. It was slowly subsiding.
Her brows furrow when he mentions knowing how she feels. It was obvious with everything that had happened. “I’m not that young.” Her hand reaches out to take his for comfort, but she hesitates. Now that she was aware of her actions, she places her hand back on her lap. “I have been putting all my energy into my bar. I want something outside of it.” Ayda confides.
The brunette takes a deep breath. “When I left. I left a different world to be in this one.” He was a Rutherford, perhaps he might get what she is meaning, but will leave that for him to decipher. “It means I am truly alone. I cannot lean on those that I did once. I need to build something new.” Her heart started to beat a little faster, her palms sliding up and down her thighs. She was nervous. She wanted to ask him to be her friend. She didn’t want to be alone anymore.
“You should come by the bar some time.” Those words leave her mouth rather than the ones she wanted to say. Ayda couldn’t take a risk of being rejected,f again.
.
She sounds firm when she speaks of letting go. Gideon watches her out of the corner of his eye but says nothing. What would he know about letting go? About leaving the past in the past?... Sure, it was easy to say the words, but he hadn’t always practiced what he himself had preached. It almost makes him feel like a hypocrite.
“The fact that you don’t have kids with him makes it easier,” He tells her instead. It’s practical, matter-of-fact. “Trust me, if you’re going to bring a kid in this world, you want it to be with someone you trust, someone who’s hopefully still in the picture. Call that experience talking...” There’s a bitterness in his voice he can’t quite quell. Felix was the one perfect thing to come out of his relationship with Katherine – and he’d suffer the nightmare all over again if it meant having his son – but that didn’t mean it was fair to Felix. Didn’t mean he didn’t deserve a better lot in life than what he’d been given; two parents who despised each other, a scandalous divorce forever immortalized in the press, and a conception jeopardized by his mother’s drug use.
If Ayda has avoided bringing a kid into the world under similar circumstances, then it’s likely for the best... No matter how sorry she feels for it at present.
“Besides,” Gideon tells her, reassurance re-entering his tone, “I’m no good at telling a woman’s age, but no matter how old you are, in this century there are always options. If you want to be a mother that bad, I’m sure you’ll find a way to make it happen... When the time is right.” He catches the way her hands dance nervously in her lap, and reaches out on impulse to capture her wrist. He gives it an amicable squeeze.
“You seem like a smart woman. Whatever choice you made for yourself, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before it pays off. You’ll see.”
He releases her hand and rises off the park bench. “... And maybe I will come by the bar some day.” He smiles, glad the invite’s on the table, given how they first met. Even more glad that Ayda seems to have forgiven him for it. “Goodnight, Ayda.”
The evening’s cool air seems to have done its work in drying her tears. He certainly doesn’t give himself the credit. Gideon only hopes that the next time they meet, she’s one step closer to realizing how much more there is to life than living for a man.
— End.

To call it shopping felt like an overstatement. Browsing perhaps, but even then she glided through the boutiques in South Kensington without actually seeing the items on display. Just going through the motions until her purse vibrated. Giordana passively ignored the alert until another arrived in quick succession, eliciting a single raised brow when she pulled the offending device out and read the missed texts.
A sales associate with pursed lips and greed in her eyes had begun to approach, but no sooner had her mouth opened than the brunette practically disappeared from the showroom floor. Vanished into the streets of London while nearly sprinting the two blocks to Mistral's. By the time she arrived, a crowd had gathered and the emergency lights that passed her on the way now sat outside whilst personnel attempted to secure the scene.
Russians. No doubt about it.
As her gaze swept rooftops and passing figures in the crowd, one stood out both through familiarity and the rumors that swirled as of late. A sympathizer who welcomed the dogs themselves onto her property. Interesting to discover Ayda here, in the midst of her new friends' violence, seeking to get a closer look at their destruction firsthand. Had she known?
One palm extended to clasp around the other woman's wrist, almost talon-like with its unyielding force as she yanked her away from the yellow tape.
"You should reconsider your presence here. Quickly."
where: outside mistle when: 21/08/24 who: @mobscene-starters
Going to meet Varden for dinner was exactly what Ayda needed. The last few weeks had been stressful and needed a night with someone she enjoyed being around. She may have put a little more effort into her appearance, her hair curled in loose waves with a black dress and heels. She wanted to feel beautiful, so that is what she did.
She was dropped off a few blocks away, the traffic coming to a halt, and the closer to came, that is when she saw the crowd of people, red and blue lights, and catching the sight of the restaurant sign, her heart started to beat faster. Ayda weaved through the crowd. "Excuse me," not paying attention to anyone she may have know, coming to the front where it was blocked off by yellow tape. She faintly saw a lower torso of a body on the ground and panic hit her.
Her phone is pulled from her bag, sending Varden message, praying that it was not him on the ground. Her hand glided across the slippery tape, trying to get closer, needing to see that it wasn't him, not sure that she could handle someone else she cared about hurt. "Excuse me," she repeated, coming to a break where she could slip under when she felt someone grab onto her wrist to stop her, looking over at them.

Where: Vespucci’s Restaurant When: March 19, 2023 Who: @giordirossi
Ayda had made an order for Vespucci’s to pick-up on her way home. Last night was a disaster in many ways and with the day over, she wanted to spend her evening at home hiding away from what transpired. The pain hurt too much and it was slowly consuming her. Maybe she could convince a certain person to come over and keep her company.
Being alone in her state of mind wasn’t smart.
The Turk pushes open the door, coming up to the bar with a smile on her face to the bartender. “Hello. I have a pick up for Ayda Demir.” He looked over the orders, a simple nod to his head finding the order still at the front.
“Seems it hasn’t been started. Why don’t you have a drink while this is being made.”
“Sure, I don’t mind.” She moves to sit at the bar. “I’ll have a coke please.” Ayda was grateful that he didn’t question her request and she turned to find another sitting at the bar.
“Hello.” A smile turns at the corners of her mouth.

On Sunday she could visit the confessional before mass and beg forgiveness for her gambling, but right now a bet’s a bet. Either Gabriele admits that her mocktail is leagues better than his piss poor attempt and pays up, or she finds an unwilling bystander to settle their disagreement... and then she can shake him down on his way home.
Within minutes her prayers are answered–– a third figure approaches the counter and the pair fall silent for a moment when she inquires about an order. It’s still a working establishment and Allegra would have their asses if one of them didn’t do his job tonight.
Although, as soon as he pours the waiting patron a coke and disappears into the kitchen to follow up, Giordana wastes little time and swivels on her barstool.
“Hi. Do me a favor,” she pushes two glasses - one with a highlighter green liquid and the other with a yellow and peach gradient - toward the woman. “Try these and tell me which one isn’t a crime against God and the human tongue. There’s no alcohol, so don’t worry about stumbling home or calling somebody you shouldn’t.”
