@toameliiorate // plotted starter!!
   The Seelie Court was starting to grow stronger and stronger with the beginning of spring.  Riley always enjoyed being in Faerie around this time, if only for the scenery.  The gentry folk, in their magical prime, oftentimes found themselves with more human pets around this time of year.  Many feasts were held around this time of year, and many traveling souls would seal their fates in one sitting.  Quite sad to watch, really.
This evening, Riley had excused himself from the festivities -- fortunately no one was asking for a performance -- and was taking to walking through the forests surrounding the court.  He was surprised to find a figure in the nearby clearing.  The elves had a tendency of entering Faerie here, so seeing visitors here wasn’t too rare.
What was rare, however, were the figure’s features.  Half elf.  Dark curly hair, nervous eyes -- all alone, too.  Were they back already?
Riley slowed his stroll, and moved to approach them from behind.  He tapped their shoulder, frog eyes blinking as he tilted his head with a smile that was gentle and unsettling.
“ Are you lost, little one?  It’s getting quite late. “

some other little lore bits from riley’s fae verse!!
+his mother was sought after by the gentry folk when she was alive too.  she would spend many nights in Faerie singing with them.  a set of slippers from her sister, a practical witch who lived in a nearby town, helped her find her way back home in the quiet of the night.  she fortunately knew enough of the rules to keep herself safe from the temptations of the other realm +when she became pregnant, her husband insisted she wear an iron necklace and stay inside their house.  he was an incredibly jealous man, and had been growing ever paranoid of the fair folk and whatever business they wanted with his wife. +riley was born with a tuft of bright red hair, his father deemed the child as devil touched -- a changeling.  he left the babe, swaddled in olive green, in the forest for the fair folk he despised so much. +it was not a fey, however, that took the child.  lillian, josephine’s sister -- now a new aunt -- found the babe and took them home to raise them around magic.  again, it was a rather practical magic, and she was sure to teach riley about the ways that the gentry folk worked. +despite her diligence, it still took riley one foul deal with the fey before he could finally begin to learn said rules.

@musesthroughtheages said: ““Heard a rumor that something lives in these woods, something… otherworldly.” [from Ainelinn]”
   She had to be joking, right?  Riley glanced at Ainelinn, raising a thin eyebrow.  Out of all the people to take a walk through the woods with, he chose one with the most curious sense of humor.  Two mortals dealing with the fey would certainly have an inkling about the otherworldly goings on around here.
“ Really? “ he said with a gasp, frog eyes blinking before going wide.  A hand went to his mouth, and then pressed against his chest.  “ You don’t think there would be -- faeries around these parts, would you? “  He could play along with a little joke.
