this might sting a bit. [ luocha to caelus! ]
Mariana's Trench Prompts | Accepting
Unsurprising, but lad has found himself scrapped up. Look, it's not his fault that he can't stop himself from stepping in to defend the weak- it's in his programming path-- the preservation runs strong. So when a malfunctioning cycrane was on a path to crash into one of Aurum Alley store fronts, which would likely have broken the glass or had some debris harm someone nearby, jumping in to catch the thing before it made contact was done with no hesitation. He had just "rebuilt" this place too, so it would be a shame if something happened to it so soon after it's resurgence.
Seems that Luocha had been in the area to see the event, coming over not soon after Caelus had given the poor cycrane to one of the overseers for repairs, only to inform the silver he had managed to get a few scratches on his face. Lad hadn't even realized it until it was brought to attention.
Part of him worried over whether someone trying to give him aid would actually be effective without the knowledge of his.. condition. But, he's had Natasha and a few other's take care of him just fine, and they weren't informed. Something tells Caelus that even if he says that he'll be fine that the Stellaron and his synthetic being will recover within the hour, that the blond would let him go so easy.
With a similar cadence of a toddler begrudgingly giving into a parent's request to behave, Caelus sighs before sitting still.

the general certainly wanted to keep him on a short leash, hm?
luocha could even argue that jing yuan is feeling sentimental, keeping up the act of them on one of their leisurely strolls rather than the traveling merchant being one of his prisoners ( though even prisoner would be used loosely for how comfortably luocha is currently ), going so far as to include luocha into journeying onto the astral express.
not that witnessing dan heng's curious expression at the sight of both of them walking onto the train together wasn't funny. he's not guarded by all sides—not that jing yuan of all men really needed that assistance against him—but there still were some caveats for the small amount of freedom he had. one of them being that the current way of things was not to be spoken of.
oh, luocha would keep up with his good behavior, no problem about that. that still left other possibilities open however.
"it's good to see that you're doing well, dan heng," luocha said, keeping an eye over to where xing and jing yuan stood not too far, then raising his voice a tad bit louder to be heard, "i appreciate you putting in a good word for me to be invited to the astral express, and taking care of kitten there when he was injured. you see, he and i have have been connected at the hip lately."
ahhh, it's with all the years of practice he's had to keep his smile the same as all eyes turned on him.
It was said that the best way to keep prisoners, even those that were a prisoner basically in name only, in line was to treat them well.
Or something along those lines. Really, had Luocha been anyone but himself then Jing Yuan would most certainly have not bothered to keep him out of the Shackling Prison. But he was and Jing Yuan, general of the Luofu, was just as softhearted as he had always been when it came to the merchant. Just as sentimental. So he'd taken Luocha with him today, as if it was one of their strolls they used to go on together in comfortable silence through the streets, and not a handy way to keep an eye on the man.
So of course the merchant had to be a troublemaker.
Honestly the general should have expected it.
But still, hearing Luocha's voice calling him that embarrassing nickname was enough for Jing Yuan to choke on his answer to Xing's latest questions about the Luofu. His head snapped to the side, golden eyes wide as he stared at the merchant who looked far too smug for his liking. Even if that smile was the same practiced customer service smile the other man usually wore around other people. Traitorously he could feel a creeping heat upon his cheeks, one that had Xing ask if he was "feeling alright".
Whatever it was that had erased the Trailblazer's memories of his past, Jing Yuan could have kissed it for it taking away the levels of sass Mingze had taught Xing in this moment.
Clearing his throat, Jing Yuan smiled first at Xing and then at Dan Heng.

"Perhaps, Luocha, there's no need to bring up such a thing. After all, I'm perfectly healthy now."
A lie considering there was still a lingering ache around his ribs. But it was best to not bring that up. Dan Heng was Dan Heng, after all, and did not need to hear of the aches and pains of someone who was an acquaintance at best.
"Er, general? Did he just call you-?" Xing's question was cut off with a sharp clap of the general's hands as the man's face grew more and more red.
Aeons help him.
"Well now! This has been a wonderful visit and, loathe though I am to cut it short, we really must return to the Luofu now. Still so much work waits for me at the Seat of Divine Foresight. And I'm sure Luocha here would like to relax at his residence before dinnertime." A heavy hand gently took hold of the smug merchant's shoulder, looking friendly to all onlookers. "Right, Luocha?"
Would he ever stop dying over being called "kitten"?
Unlikely.
Would that prevent him from trying to enforce that such a thing was meant for privacy?
No.

" sit down before you fall down. " — for uri from luocha~
blood, blood, gallons of the stuff !
@toadmiretoweepover
Uri haphazardly shoved him away, the motion prompting her to stumble once again and come close to properly falling over this time. After a brief wobble, Uri regained her balance with a wheeze, the acrid smell of her own blood making her nose wrinkle.
Tumblr media
"'M fine, Luo." She grumbled, standing up straighter and taking a long, yet faintly raspy breath. "It's just the...the Mara, no need to worry." Uri wheezed and nodded once before placing a hand at the wound on her side. She could feel blood leaking around her fingers as she pressed down and although she didn't have the capabilities of healing herself, it didn't stop her from trying.
"This...This happens sometimes. It'll close up eventually. It always does." Uri whispered, managing a weak yet faintly reassuring smile at the man.

❛ i wanted to say thank you for protecting me. ❜ from dan heng!
Tumblr media
& RE : @toadmiretoweepover / interaction prompt.
Tumblr media
the gratitude is unexpected, if only as a consequence of how silent their third wheel had been. not that he could blame him, caught up in the same inconvenient chaos as he had been in getting roped into cloud knight duties, but still. luocha regards him, eyes narrowed in scrutiny ... though what hard edge lay behind his countenance soon dissipates in favor of something softer. though it is somewhat hidden 'neath the knuckle he has pressed to his lip, he does smile, however subtly. his own monotone, in comparison, is much lighter than dan heng's, it seems.
Tumblr media
"i'd say most of the gratitude belongs to our cloud knight friend, wherever she's run off to." perhaps rich coming from him, who had jumped into fighting at their side only at the behest of sushang's own struggling. it's hard to catch, of course, but there's somewhat ironic humor underneath his feigned modesty. "but if i'm to receive recognition for lending my hand, you protected me just as well. thus, shouldn't i thank you?" he clicks his tongue, then raises his hand to wave, gracefully, in the space between them. "are you sure you came through all of this without injury? you took quite a few hits on our behalf."
