OnS Theories (17S). First Theory - Reason of Shinoa’s Feelings
Hello everyone, this is the new theory season! As for the first theory, this will be tied to the special analysis that was uploaded yesterday which was related towards Shinoa’s evolution in terms of how she developed her humanity or rather how her emotions started to bloom from being a girl that didn’t have much attachment to one that cared for those who are important to her.
Analysis tied to theory: OnS Chapter 99. Shinoa Hiragi - Deep Analysis
P.S: THEORIES ARE HELD WITHIN A NEUTRAL VIEW AND SHIPS ARE EXCLUDED.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKerqp5yOGo
Shall we begin with this theory?
First of all, this theory will only touch topics related to chapter 99; and the main question is, why did Shinoa get so powerful and why “love” was the key for her to get strength?
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 99
As far as we know, Shinoa Hiragi was a girl without lingering emotions that gradually started to learn how to feel, but within that, there was something heavily attached within her, what could it be?
It was fear.
What do I mean?
After Mahiru removed her demon from her; she taught her that demons could prey on a human if said human exposed their desires to the demon; such thing gradually turned into a numb fear; but how is that possible when she wasn’t able to feel emotions towards pain, sadness, happiness, etc?
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose Catastrophe at 16 - Chapter 41
Despite what the brain makes think, there are always things the body remembers; and specially if those were shocking experiences; in Shinoa’s case, she saw how her sister gradually fell, how she gradually let loose of her demon that possessed her until she died.
Such thoughts are reflected back in the Catastrophe LNs after Shikama Doji returned to her; she didn’t allow him to prey on her heart easily, nor allowed him to get information that could be an advantage for him. But, when did this fear started to grow?
The fear started to grow after Shikama stopped possessing the main head of the Hiragi Family; she quickly detected his presence thanks to the fact of how linked they are; since she is his wielder. And of course, Shikama being an entity that doesn’t see “love” as a feeling or emotion with purity but rather as something mundane; he quickly started to make her hesitate, and insert fear within her:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 68
In said panel, the squad was celebrating they were able to halt the summonings of the horsemen of the apocalypse by the 6th trumpet along the fact they brought him to a normal state, which means, he was no longer a seraph thanks to the Sinful Key; and then this panel came; Shinoa was at first smiling like she tends to do, but such smile vanished and became a frown, but why would she do that?
Easy. She was starting to fear what would happen next; she was worrying about how she needed to fight against the words of Shikama Doji, she believed that having an attachment or feelings of admiration towards Yu could eventually become her doom.
Hence why when they reached Shibuya and Shikama entered in contact with her, Shinoa didn’t pay mind if he was possessing Kureto; but of course, Shikama kept destroying that security she had; he started to prey on what Shinoa really wished which was seeing Yu happy; how can I state this when it is often heard that her feelings were forced to be romantic/sexual according to some within the fandom?
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 72
Within said chapter, Shinoa had a conversation between Shikama only to be taunted by him in order to make her lower the walls of her heart; within that, Shikama started to suggest an exchange; within the exchanges, both options were things Shinoa wished to see for Yu; one of them seeing Mikaela as a human again; she’s aware Yu’s wish would be to see Mika as a human again at that time; which of course, make her hesitate but nevertheless, she tried to stand strong saying she didn’t care about that; but when Shikama stated he knew a way on how to revert Yu’s curse; that’d mean that Yu would be healed instead of seeing his constant self destruction. But, what does this imply? Does this imply she wanted to feel gratitude or anything in exchange for Yu if she accepted such offers?
The answer is no.
Shinoa’s been displayed as a character that does worry of her squad, and that is something mentioned very well by @fandomsarepainful and @distinguished-slacker.
Shinoa has displayed a caring nature not only for Yu; she has shown such nature towards Mitsuba; she’s conforted her in the past due to the events and hardships Mitsuba endured after the loss of her former squad; furthermore such caring side is visible when it comes to respecting important decisions when it comes to Kimizuki and Yoichi. She doesn’t neglect their ideas, on the contraty, she wishes to learn what they think for a best solution; and such side is visible with Mikaela too after he spent 3 months with the squad after deflecting the JIDA.
Returning back to the main point of the theory, after the events that ended up getting her possessed by Shikama Doji due to her trying to save Yuichiro and Asuramaru; she was eventually rescued by Guren and later on gathered the squad with the Queen Krul Tepes.
And of course, the controvertial scene:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 99
What’s the main reason she stated such thing? Is it because she was forced to view Yu romantically by Shikama Doji and Mahiru?
The answer is a big no.
How could I possibly state that?
The reason goes that Shinoa doesn’t see Yu within lust or obsession as I stated before but rather she sees Yu within a pure love; she wishes his well being and his happiness, that’s what she truthfully wishes for. Shinoa never knew the concept of love towards someone else or rather directed someone rather than her sister but Mahiru did what she could in order to preserve that purity from being twisted by Shikama Doji.
But overall, there’s a second reason to this, what do I mean?
Correct. A reason to live
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 99
Shinoa is tired and exhausted on how her life has gone; she’s tired that Shikama Doji had to control everything and made her lose what she treasured:
Her life
Her sister
Her sister’s happiness
Her squad’s somewhat stable life
The World
Her mother’s death
The curse her squad had to carry being guinea pigs
Her own emotions
She is tired of seeing sacrifices for small victories; she’s tired to see that those important around her have to keep losing what they treasure the most; Shinoa is a character that is aware of many things and that is heavily reflected back in chapter 97:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 97
In said chapter she stated that she expected it was her fault that her mother died after she gave birth to her; she has been carrying so much guilt and pain within her heart to the point she finally got exhausted after seeing Shikama Doji possessing her again when she was learning from the Queen what her sister did in order to create a plan that would start operating in the future with the only hope of protecting her baby sister; the only person Mahiru considered as her family.
But then, if she found a reason to live, does this imply she’s forcing to believe she’s in love with Yu?
No. She isn’t. But why?
Shinoa in her whole life never saw a reason to live, nor exist, she didn’t see why she should keep living but she kept on going without any path; but after the squad was finally created, and after taking the responsibility of leading it; she started to grow emotions, she stated to feel attachment to them but most of all, she started to admire Yu’s kind nature of saving people and giving it all for those who matter or are important or rather being a kind person without receiving anything in exchange.
Hence why, after being possessed again and seeing that Shikama Doji was weakened due to Mahiru’s drug; she found a way to break free and within this, she accepted what her heart felt, which was a pure selfless love; but does that mean she’ll end with him?
No. Shinoa stated that she’d fight because she finally found a reason to live, nor she wants to see Shikama take away all she was able to find and protect; she doesn’t want to see everything vanish without her trying the least, she doesn’t want to be the same lonely girl nor wants to be asleep while knowing Shikama will destroy that amount of happiness she finally managed to find within her life.
That’s why she states she’d overcome him and take over him due to him being the main reason her life was cursed.
Shinoa stopped fearing what her heart felt, she no longer sees “love” as something bad that Shikama stated, but rather a pure feeling that is born with time and that is displayed with the time she spent with her squad who are her friends as well.
What do you think dear readers?
Let me know!

Guren smiled when he heard Mahiru’s voice, she was right in the room with him. As he turned he let go of just one more person that had been in that way of what was going to happen tonight. He didn’t even care that he had blood on his lips, he was just ..... glad she would be here in the end. She probably couldn’t hear him from where he was, but he spoke anyway, “Mahiru. My sweet Mahiru. You came after all.”
Tears were in her eyes, as she took in his appearance, hands on the hilt of her katana. Shinya was right next to her....comforting her. “Yes Guren, I did. Let us save you. You know we all care about you. We need you.”
Guren laughed a little at that. As he watched the distance close so that they could hear him now. “You can’t save me. I asked you time and again Mahiru to join me, but time is up. Sadly there is no more time to mess around with anymore.”
“Master Gur-” Sayuri started, but Mahiru cut her off.
“We can.”
“You can’t! But I am glad you came,” he said with a smile that always made Mahiru’s heart flutter.
“I said I would!”
She was right next to Guren than. He saw it like it was in slow motion. Every attack they made. It was so easy now that he was a vampire to dodge everything. He even knew the Fuda spells wouldn’t hurt him somehow, so he didn’t waste energy moving and didn’t feel anything when they went off. He could tell they were trying their best, and if he was his old self, he would be almost on par with Mahiru, maybe a little slower. But now he didn’t even have to fight.
“Sorry Mahiru,” he said softly. In the next second he grabbed her arm, and tossed her into the others. Smelling blood told him he had done his job at, at least pacifying them for now. Maybe now they would hear reason, and stop trying to fight him. But knowing all of them, they wouldn’t. His old bodyguards wanted to get him back, Shinya and the other two he figured were following Mahiru to save the world or for some other reason.
But Mahiru.....she was here due to him. He wanted her here. He could tell she loved him still, just like when they were little. At school she came to see him when he was hurt, even though he knew it would heal soon enough. She was the whole reason he had undergone this entire madness.
He wanted to give her, her wish.
He started to laugh at little. Watching all the mighty saviors on the ground, unable to even lay a hand on him. It was sad really. In the end, he was just as screwed as the day he was born.
“What the hell is so funny, you crazed Ichinose?” Shinya asked, finally able to get up, blood going down his mouth.
“Shinya!” Mahiru said worried. She moved to clean his mouth, but stopped when a deep growl came from behind her.
“Are you jealous Guren?” Shinya asked, in a mocking tone.
Guren paid Shinya no mind. He had his eyes locked on Mahiru’s. “How long are you going to stick around these people? One is a stud horse we both know you don’t want, two are from a sect the Hiragis would rather see squashed, and the other two...just hanging onto due to your name. They don’t know you like I do. So why?”
So many emotions were filling the air of the room. Sayuri and Shigure seemed as if Guren had slashed them open and said that they were better off dead. Mito, who was still laying injured on the floor, was giving Guren a glare that made it seem her red hair was fire that would burn him if he got to close. Goshi was shaking his head and silently saying, not cool man.
The worst reaction out of Guren’s friends, was Shinya. He was standing there torn between crying and wanting to run over and punching Guren. They seemed to always have a connection for some reason, even now Guren could tell that his words had stung him so deep that he wanted to hate him beyond words. He was even shaking, and it wasn’t from the built up tears. Even so, there was a part of Shinya deep down, that couldn’t hate Guren for some reason. And that was going to be his down fall.
Suddenly a voice broke the awful silence, “It is what you would have done.” Mahiru’s voice tore his crimson eyes away from the scene in front of him, to only focus on Mahiru. “I know you Guren, you need people. That is why you keep asking for me right. These are your friends too. They are worried about-”
Shinya cut off Mahiru with a chuckle. “He knows he has us beat, and yet he doen’t do anything, but talk about friends. Well I will tell you one thing Mahiru I don’t think he needs friends. All he cares about is power.”
Guren growled again, his demon coming to the front of his mind. Sure he had power, sure he had to get it. He had his reasons, and things had to happen. Shinya however wouldn’t understand, he just saw the Ichinose teen that went on adventures with him, trying to get ahead of the families, even though Guren was working for both sides.
Shinya walked closer. “I’m right, are’t I. You once told me you wanted to save your clan and someone you cared about. What happened to that?”
In an instant things could change. Guren had learned that when he was six. Shinya and the others were learning it now while Mahiru was screaming. One moment Shinya was just standing there, the next Guren jabbed his hand into Shinya’s chest, through ribs just to get to his heart. It would be so easy to rip it out, but instead Guren held back. He wanted Shinya to live a little longer. Which is why he was looking at Guren confused.
“You don’t understand anything stud horse. My struggle has everything to do with them and Mahiru. If you and the others had just stayed out of the way, this would have ended differently.”
Shinya opened his mouth to try and answer but only blood came out. Guren only let the adopted Hiragi drop to the floor when he heard the lady of his heart crying his name over and over to stop and let Shinya go.
In that one moment no one did anything. The only noise besides the fans, was the blood dripping down Guren’s hand. He looked down at Shinya. There was a hurt and confused look on his face, the moment that he died. They would all wear that look soon. After all he had fought this to get to Mahiru, not to hurt her, but to......
But it was too late. The least he could do is remove the fake friends that she had. The people that only used her for her name. The ones that didn’t know her as, her. The sweet, loving girl that just wanted to be normal.
It only took on tick of the clock, not even enough time for Siyuri to call out for her Lord to stop. For anyone to say Guren’s name. Soon only bodies remained, all headless, apart from the one Guren had in a head lock right now. It was Shigure. One of his most trusted friends and bodyguards once. Now in his madness, he just saw her as someone that was a threat between him and Mahiru. Someone that wasn’t really a friend.
“Guren, no!” Mahiru finally got out.
“”If he wishes to kill me than so be it,” Shigure finally said. “Master Guren is-”
But what he was Mahiru would never know, Guren broke her neck, before fully taking her head off. Guren dropped her, as he did the others. Before walking over the bodies to come closer to Mahiru.
“There, no more fake friends. Just you and me. Like you wanted when we were kids.”
Mahiru at that point was crying, eyes fixed on everyone on the floor. She looked as if she was about to scream, as she pulled out Noya. Guren pushed her arm down and pulled her closer. “Hey, there is time for that later. Right now just know you are-”
“Gggg tttt, your arm off of her.”
Guren growled as he saw that Shinya was still alive. Mahiru stabbed her cursed gear into the ground and ran to him. He pulled it out of the ground and held Noya, remembering when this was made, and when he gave it to Mahiru after they had a night together, ignoring Mahiru and Shinya talking. Mahiru was begging him not to die, Shinya was saying he was going to have to disappoint her yet again. But his last words caught Guren’s attention,
“You’re lucky he loves you so much. You know why I came along, I guess I will have to tell him in person, I’m sorry I failed. Do it.....for me. Just don’t cry.....or let the demon win okay Mahiru.”
Mahuri nodded, “Okay.” She kissed Shinya’s forehead. But the light had left his face and eyes by then. She shook him a few times and he just stared blankly at her, with his smile on his face, that got him through life.
“What was he talking about?” Guren asked darkly, Noya over his shoulder.
Mahiru stayed by Shinya, wiping her eyes. “He cared deeply for you. He said he wanted to save you since he made a promise to your father that he would. Now I have to do it, since I promised him.” When she got up and turned around she saw Guren holding Noya as if he was inspecting it.
“You can’t, not this time Mahiru. All you can do it this,” he said, handing her the hilt of the katana the housed Noya. She looked confused, but did as she was asked. “Noya thanks to you has drank a lot of blood from demons and humans, he is the last piece to the experiment that is happening tonight. Are you ready?”
“Ready for what Guren?” she asked, afraid of what else could happen.
What happened was worse. Worse than Guren killing their friends, worse than what had been happening over the last few days, worse than anything she could think of. Guren ran himself through with the blade so deep that he came right to her and hugged her.
“Guren!” Mahiru screamed, as Guren’s knees buckled and she had to lower him to the floor. She moved to pull it out.
“Don’t. This needs to happen, I am bound to your demon now.”
“Why? Why are you doing this?”
“I said it before,” he said softly, when she moved to put his head in her lap, “to save you. This was meant to be you Mahiru. I took your place a long time ago. I found out you and your sister were born with demons, and I took them both.”
“The cursed gear you gave my sister?”
Guren slowly nodded his head, a few tears going down his face. “I wanted you and her to have a normal life, like you wanted.”
“What about you?!”
Guren was turning translucent and even though he seemed solid to hold, it was clear something was wrong at the point of contact of the sword. There was black lines coming out like veins, as if the sword was feeding on him.
“I won’t be here very soon. I am becoming one with your demon.” He closed his eyes for a moment, when he spoke with his eyes closed he sounded more like his normal self. “Mahiru this place is to conduct the Seraph of the End experiment. The world will only end if someone activates it.”
“What is it Guren? You never fully said.”
Guren opened his eyes, one red eye was already black. “It is stepping into a realm man should not go. It is the punishment to man when they bring someone back from the dead.”
“Guren you are not making any sense,” Mahiru pointed out.
“I don’t have much time. I left you enough information Mahiru, no one is watch us. Take your sister and go, you don’t have to do this. You are the only thing keeping the world from ending. The experiment was meant for today can be stopped thanks to you.” He took in a deep breath. Looking up at her, he smiled, and Mahiru knew it was Guren and not the demon in that one moment. “I do love you, and I will be with you.”
Mahiru started crying. She bent down and kissed Guren. “Please don’t go. I love you.”
But in that moment, she wasn’t holding him anymore, she was holding a katana sword, with a letter fluttering to the floor. Inside it was not Guren nor Noya, but a newborn demon, that had all the memories of Guren.
Outside Mahiru had made her choice, deciding that she was going to bring her and Guren’s friends back. As she strapped on her cursed gear she noticed the letter, gently opening she noticed Guren’s handwriting.
My dear Mahiru,
By now I know that things have reached the end and I am going to die soon. I just wanted to sit down and write something while I still had a clear head.
I know what I am doing doesn’t seem fair to you, but it did save you from growing up just to die at sixteen. This was my way to save you like I promised when we were kids. I also wanted you to know that my choice was part of some Hiragi plan. So i would ask yourself, how do the Hiragis stay so powerful.
I would ask that you take care of my clan since I was the head and I had no heir at the time, and they had to use dad against me and I couldn’t come in they executed him for their own sick games. Since I was not fully sticking to their plans. I was at least grateful for the funeral, and that you came.
Guren didn’t sign it, but he did put a crimson lotus inside the letter.
Mahiru shook her head and called him her stupid prince.
When the world died at the hands of Mahiru Hiragi, the demon inside her blade awakened.
That demon’s name, Guren-Aku-Ya

Title: Regression
Series: Owari no Seraph Pairing: Hyakuya Mikaela x Hyakuya Yuuichirou Rating: M (18+) Summary: It wasn't a reconciliation, not really; it wasn't even about them meeting halfway. If anything, Yuuichirou would call it something along the lines of them just letting out some pent-up steam.
But perhaps on second thought, that would be putting it nicely.
Spoilers for the latest chapters. // Canon!verse, / PWP / Mikayuu
AO3
Mikaela's hands were rough and utterly aggressive much later on that night, a great contrast to his usually calm demeanor, his soothing voice, his soft breaths that always knew how and where to elicit the most arousing responses from deep in his throat. These last few weeks that they had been in hiding, Yuuichirou had only ever known his best friend to be a gentle lover, a thoughtful partner during their lovemaking.
Truth be told, it was something that Yuu had gradually learned to get used to—and to an extent—even come to expect.
But alas, there was none of that tonight, not when Mika's crimson eyes burned with resentment and self-righteous injustice, his fervent kisses on Yuu's throat, his lips, his chest...all of them meant only one thing: a means of punishment to get a point across.
There was a driving persistence that was taut in the blond's muscles, his movements urgent from the very tips of his hands as he gripped the inside of Yuu's palms and held them above his head, threading their fingers together in silent desperation.
Yuuichirou knew better than to fight it, squeezing the vampire's hand as tightly as he could instead, biting his lip unconsciously. He spread his thighs farther apart, more than willing to accommodate him.
There was a surreal aspect about their encounter that night that Yuu couldn't help but notice, the way the late evening seemed so pleasant with the stars twinkling silently above them, the unsoiled scent of the ocean breeze lulling their other friends to sleep. Deep in the forest they ensconced themselves in, the cicadas chirped without a second thought, their toneless melody creating a seemingly contented environment.
Under the mercy of his best friend's voracity however, the last thing in Yuuichirou's mind was anything but peaceful.
Mika's grip was not painful, but the unspoken words behind it was strictly adamant that no concessions be made, not tonight, no truce or reconciliation that would be forthcoming any time soon.
It was an internal conflict between their two fundamentally different outlooks of the same situation; for now, they will let their lust do the talking for them.
"Why do you defend him...?!" Mika whispered furiously in his ear, his powerful hands frantically pulling at the white belt around Yuu's hip, letting out a growl of frustration when he finally yanked it free, the piece of leather snapping in two due to the force of his pull. "He's only using you!"
An accusation born from his bitterness; they both knew this, but the blond would be damned if he even so much as thought of acknowledging that fact out loud.
"No...he's our family, Mika!" Yuu replied with just as much conviction, a moan escaping past his lips when the blond managed to slip his hands underneath his shirt, caressing his nipples, rolling them between his fingers, pinching and pulling at them a little too harshly. "He's one of us—ahhh!"
"He means to use you for his own gain...! 'Bring back humanity the way it was'?! Ha! Don't make me laugh," Mika retorted back at him, his voice filled with such cynicism that it made Yuu's heart ache with melancholy.
His best friend's heart had no room for anyone else, closed off to the world as it was already. In the deep recesses of his mind, Yuuichirou felt the guilt of leaving him behind eat him alive once more, devouring him bit by bit.
Mikaela's mind filled to the brim with resentment, he didn't give Yuu a chance to say anything else, slamming his lips against the other boy's mouth, his fangs grazing the latter's bottom lip, impatient and obtrusive.
There was no sweet foreplay, no playful teasing in his kiss. Simply put, Mika was in no mood in holding himself back, and when Yuu tried to wrap his arms around his friend's neck, the blond arrogantly refused the gesture, pinning his wrists once more instead.
Unfazed by his partner's cold disposition however, Yuu opted instead to wrap his legs tightly around the vampire's hips, refusing to let go even as the blond tried to wiggle his body free, obstinate in wanting to dislodge him. As their tongues swirled together in fierce ardor, drool rolling down their chins, Yuu tried once more to talk sense to his friend, even as the pleasure of their kiss threatened to overwhelm him.
"Why don't you give Guren a chance—" he murmured, before Mika brought a hand to cover his eyes, plundering his friend's mouth even deeper, trying to quiet him down.
No...he'll neither listen nor hear anything more from him, the anger in his veins ringing in his ears.
They stayed like that for quite some time, but eventually, the need for air had to be addressed and Mika ripped his mouth away with a heated smack, lifting his hand from Yuu's face to insert two fingers inside his best friend's mouth. Mikaela's face only wore a blank expression while Yuuichirou's tongue curled around the digits, the blond instinctively fighting the urge to gag him completely.
Theirs was a clash of two completely different convictions, unwilling to hear out the other's point of view, their stubbornness overtaking the manner in which they tried to make the other listen. In retrospect (or perhaps it was nothing more than a comfort they tried to contend themselves with), the situation itself was not so different when they had been younger.
Nonetheless, the lewd expression on Yuu's face controlled Mika's violent urges for the moment, and the vampire let out a moan of arousal, pulling his hand away to bring his fingers to his own lips, his tongue sticking out to lick them clean. His mouth moved slowly, deliberately, his eyes never once leaving Yuu's face.
Having opened his eyes only to see Mika's intense gaze fully concentrated on him, Yuuichirou couldn't help but gulp in nervousness, his heart having skipped a beat or two while his body jolted from surprise. The exhilaration of being desired by the person before him coursed inside his chest, making him feel like he had become delicious prey at that very moment
And perhaps to some degree, he was correct.
As if reading his friend's thoughts, his fangs glistening with hunger, Mikaela abruptly lunged for Yuu's neck, the piercing sound of his teeth plunging against pliant flesh sharp in his ears. His hand letting go of his friend's wrist to hold the back of his neck and shoulder steady, he took his fill greedily, his throat gulping the vital essence with vigor.
As Yuuichirou felt the familiar rush of euphoria flooding his veins, he took his chance and wrapped his arms around Mika's neck, pulling him close, inhaling the pleasant scent of his hair, his legs wrapping around the vampire's waist even tighter, unwilling to let go.
While the blond continued to drink, his hands frantically fumbled to unbuckle his partner's pants, his fingers quickly pulling down on the zipper, yanking the garment down as much as he could, his eagerness getting the best of him. The sweet, intoxicating flavor of Yuu's blood seared itself into the very pores of his body, almost as if it were some miraculous elixir that would continuously bring him back to life, each and every time he consumed it.
Mikaela could feel the tantalizing call of impatience thrumming through his veins; he wanted to hear more from Yuu, wanted to feel him writhing and begging for mercy beneath him. The more aroused he became, the more the fire blazed inside of his own body in turn.
It was a delirious, foolhardy thing, wanting to get the both of them into a state of such a high that the fire roaring inside of his chest would ravage them whole, leaving not a single trace behind, any remnant or proof that they had existed together once, in harmony and naiveté. But in fairness, it was something that Mika had already come to anticipate, ever since he realized that his friend's loyalty extended beyond his own.
His current enmity towards Yuu was as great as his everlasting desire for him; even as a vampire, nothing has changed. Or perhaps that's not so accurate—having become a bloodsucking monster, the very existence of his passion for his best friend was an abnormality...the madness of a vampire.
Yuuichirou moaned in response, his hips lifting to help him, temporarily unwrapping his legs from around his friend's waist. His breaths coming out in short pants, his gaze drifted heavenwards, taking in the clear night sky full of mesmerizing stars, enough to render him awe-struck for a split second. While the pleasure of Mika's fangs embedded deep in his throat was almost enough to make him feel faint, it wasn't until the blond's fingers firmly wrapped themselves around his hardened length that Yuu's mind suddenly jolted from the haze of lust it had been submerged in, his eyes widening in disbelief, his throat involuntarily letting out a panicked gasp.
Mikaela dislodged his fangs from his best friend's neck, not bothering to wipe away the stark traces of blood that had dribbled down his chin.
There was no more time to react afterwards, not when the blond's hand moved swiftly, jacking him off with indecent vigor, his pace relentless from the onset. Yuuichirou's hands flexed stiffly, his heart pounding in his chest from such heavy stimulation, his toes curling inside his boots as breathless heaves of air escaped his throat, reducing him to speechlessness. Unable to help himself, he spread his legs farther apart, his hips gradually moving of their own accord in unison with his friend's actions.
Mika moved closer to him until their faces were only centimeters apart, his fingers tugging at Yuu's cock, his voice coming out in livid whispers while his mouth brushed against his lover's ear, almost as if he were about to cry. "You would choose him over me? Have I become so worthless to you...?!"
It was a low blow, and they both knew it. Guren was half the reason Yuuichirou was alive now, in the same vein that Mikaela compromised the other half. To make his best friend choose was unfair, unreasonable...cruel. Regardless of that logic, Mika couldn't help but feel petty—vindictive even, throwing reasoning out the window for all he cared at that precise moment.
In response to his friend's allegations, Yuuichirou could only shake his head vehemently, a tear escaping his eyes as he felt waves of pleasure violently assaulting him, sliding through the tunnel of his spine, traveling across the maze of his nerves. Precum oozed from the slit of his cock, and when he felt Mika's thumb press against it once—twice, his mind became a miasma of unspoken words, spinning inside his brain like a tornado, out of control.
'No...no, how could you even think of asking me that, when a day didn't pass where I wasn't think of you...! Yes...yes, yes, just like that...! Ahhh...it feels so good, I want more...!'
His mouth was incapable of coherent speech to form any semblance of a reasonable reply, so Yuuichirou did the first thing he came up with to sooth his best friend, clutching both sides of Mika's head, sunflower locks between his fingers, and crushing his lips against his own, his breath coming out as panting sobs. He could still taste the faint traces of his own blood inside his partner's mouth, his heart still beating wildly in his chest when he felt himself becoming more aroused at the mere thought, the erotic image stamping itself into the canvas of his mind when he realized how monstrous...and alluring his friend looked at that precise moment, their saliva and his blood sinfully mingling together.
In its own way, it was somewhat ridiculous, the last vestiges of Yuu's mind thought. Mika's heart was broken because of him, because of his actions...and the only thing he could do to mend it was give him a silly kiss, unoriginal as that was. Still, Yuuichirou put forth all the effort into that one single gesture, tilting his chin a bit to kiss him even deeper, the unceasing, wet slap of their lips and tongues sounding obscene to anyone who may have chanced upon them.
Mikaela was taken aback by his friend's abrupt boldness, but the surge of fury still roared within him, and he tried to break away at first, his fingers choosing to move up and down much faster instead, his hand utterly slick by that point.
Mika snarled internally, languishing when he felt his body betray him, and he couldn't help but return Yuu's kiss with savage fervor. Though his irritation governed his body for the present, Mikaela chided himself in that he could never deny his best friend anything.
Yuuichirou was an honest, stubborn man, so it shouldn't have come as a surprise when he wouldn't let the blond move away, keeping their mouths fastened together while his hands eventually let slid from the vampire's cheeks to his behind. His hands caressed and massaged the vampire's buttocks, squeezing them, instinctively pushing them downwards toward his crotch.
A few seconds later on, his forest-colored eyes snapped open without warning, and he quickly broke away from their kiss, holding onto Mika's neck, burying his nose in the latter's hair as he unabashedly groaned out loud, his voice sounding nothing if not shameless, his orgasm racking turbulently throughout his entire body, as if each nerve ending contained within were exploding with fireworks.
His body twitched from the afterglow of coming, yet that didn't stop him from wrapping his arms around Mika's hips once more, insistently pulling him down.
"Mika...Mika..." Yuuichirou chanted his name over and over again, a silent plea, his eyes glazed over as he looked up to see the blond breathing raggedly, his eyes hidden beneath his bangs. For a passing second, he couldn't help but admire how menacing Mikaela looked, how dangerously beautiful he was, and how he could have become so attracted to his best friend, longing for him more and more ever since he laid eyes upon him again all those months ago in Shinjuku.
Wantonly, he pulled the vampire closer to him, groaning in dissatisfaction when Mikaela refused to budge an inch, bringing a hand to cover his face instead, his fingers quivering, trying to remain in control of himself.
Traces of dried blood stained the blond's chin, and he hovered over Yuu quietly for a few seconds, fighting internally within himself to maintain his calm. His body shook with arousal, the sight of Yuu begging for him inciting sparks of pleasure to his groin, and he couldn't help but let out a smile that could only be described as deranged, wisely choosing to hide his expression behind his palm.
But when he felt Yuuichirou's fingers reaching up unhurriedly to stroke his hardened length through his pants, his best friend's mouth hanging open with candid desire, he felt something becoming undone inside of him, a staunch tether that had wrapped itself firmly around the monster within the alcove of his soul unraveling before his very eyes, helpless as he was to stop it.
And when his best friend realized that he wouldn't be stopping him any time soon, Yuu deftly unzipped his partner's pants and pulled them down, sitting up to envelop the vampire in his mouth, clutching the base of Mika's sex while he took in as much of the shaft as he could, closing his eyes in bliss, contentedly humming to himself.
It was all the blond could take, and before he could allow to let Yuuichirou go any farther, he brusquely shoved him backward, letting his mouth slide off of him as the latter yelped in surprise.
"Mika, what—" Yuu began, before he was abruptly cut off when the blond savagely kissed him, molding their lips together as he drew out his friend's tongue between his teeth, sucking on it while he brought his crotch downwards to rub against the other boy's manhood.
For a blessed moment, the blond could allow himself to let go of his resentment, the exquisite, pleasurable warmth radiating from the lower half of his body finally overwhelming the last remnants of clarity in his mind, drowning him in the animalistic intoxication of coming together with his best friend like this.
He broke away from their kiss, bringing his lips to Yuu's ear and nipping at the cartilage, enough that it drew blood, earning him a moan from the other man. As the small bead of blood oozed from the shallow wound, Mikaela licked it clean with his tongue, the sensation of his warm breath against Yuu's skin making the latter blush from the roots of his hair.
Yuuichirou shook his head at the feel of the sudden, intimate contact, beads of perspiration rolling down his forehead and the back of his neck, and he shut his eyes tightly in response, his chest heaving. He responded back to Mika with genuine earnestness, his tongue darting out to lick his lips, his hips lifting and moving up and down to create even more friction between them.
He repeated Mika's name over and over again, his mind solely focused on that one connection between them, where their bodies met and intertwined and became one.
It didn't take long for Mikaela to lose himself within the gratifying sensations of moving against Yuu's warm body, their cocks sliding against one another in a dizzying spiral of ecstasy, his hips moving of its own accord as he gradually increased his pace, the bliss running through his nerves maddening, as if he were blindly reaching for something intangible, sending his train of thought into an exasperating frenzy.
From the corner of his eye, Mikaela briefly spotted their weapons haphazardly thrown on the ground, a silent witness to their midnight tryst. How easy it would be...the vampire thought, to end everything right there and then, away from prying eyes, where he had Yuuichirou all to himself, the latter's mind currently filled with nothing but the blond's existence. He would be able to pull his best friend to the farthest dregs of heaven or hell or wherever it was that departed souls go to in the afterlife, take him away from the cursed plague that was Ichinose Guren and all the others whom were a danger to him...away from this ridiculous trash heap of filth they called their world.
It was an awfully tempting thing to contemplate, in spite of the fact that no matter what, he already knew in his heart that he would never be able to pull of such a feat; the prospect of a life with Yuu...the possibility of it...tempted him so much more.
Pulling Yuuichirou into a tight embrace, Mika dug his forehead onto his friend's shoulder, his teeth clenching tightly while his throat let out a guttural moan, his hands clenched tightly against the fabric of Yuu's shirt. He could feel his orgasm coming very soon, the speed of his movements becoming jerky, wholly frantic.
"You feel so good...so good, Mika...!" Yuu groaned low into the blond's ear, bringing his hands to clutch at the vampire's backside, pressing their crotches together even harder. Without warning, he had restricted his partner's hurried pace, electrifying the pleasure between them even further.
They both grunted, their voices erotically mingling together, unable to keep their volume down any longer. It was all that either of them could take, and within seconds, Mikaela came first, his cum shooting out to stain the surface of Yuu's shirt, his body shaking afterwards from the aftershocks of his orgasm. He collapsed on top of him, his breath heaving in the crook of his neck.
Yuuichirou came shortly after for the second time, his back beautifully arching upwards as he rode the seamless waves of euphoria, his mouth hanging obscenely. He held Mikaela to him as tightly as he could for the longest time, only letting go when the blond roughly shoved himself away from him, seemingly aware of himself once more.
Still panting, Mika's eyes were listless once more as he slowly turned his gaze towards Yuu, before looking away, his expression unreadable, pulling up his pants and sitting a couple of feet away from his best friend.
Deafening silence.
The atmosphere between them then seemed almost...anti-climatic.
With his back facing Yuuichirou, he didn't utter a single word, but only brought a hand to massage his temples, the anger slamming back itself into existence inside his brain. This time however, thankfully, his temper was more in-check and he didn't feel as...unreasonable.
If he were honest with himself, he didn't know what to say to Yuu, his current state at a loss for words. Nothing much had changed with their situation, their respective beliefs just as immovable as it was from the beginning.
There was no mutual understanding between them at that point, not even a meeting of minds halfway, the both of them being stubborn idiots as they were (the last thought did make him smile a bit though).
What's more, when Yuuichirou suddenly came up from behind him and wrapped his arms around his shoulder, leaning his nose forward to lay against the softness of his hair before moving to run butterfly kisses along the back of his neck and shoulders, Mika still couldn't say anyhting, only that he felt oddly content, despite the numerous problems that still lie ahead of them.
Bringing a hand to lay on top of Yuu's fingers, Mikaela let out a weary sigh and hesitantly leaned into his lover's embrace, tenderly running his thumb across the back of his palm.
Once again...silence, buzzing in his ear, a persistent presence.
But it wasn't a bad thing, not at all...quite the contrary, it was perfectly all right. In fact, he could even go so far as to say that he preferred it, for the time being anyway.
He looked down on the ground, his eyes contemplating, the harsh scarlet of his gaze from earlier having cooled to a calmer maroon.
For now, the vampire thought quietly to himself, staring out at nothing while he continued to stroke Yuu's hand absentmindedly, closing his eyes at the sensation of his friend's lips caressing his skin, until they can figure things out from herein starting tomorrow...the silence will do.
For now.

OnS Theories (17S). Third Theory - Shikama’s punishment, and the reason behind the corpse (Long Theory)
Hello everyone, it’s been few days since I’ve updated, I’ve been a little busy along studies coming over but nevertheless, let’s keep going with these theories, I hope you guys are doing alright!
This theory is special, it isn’t centered on what it’s mostly known or rather, it is the doubt of veracity towards Shikama Doji’s statements.
Before starting, I must say that there’s this lingering feeling that Shikama is actually lying about having a son but rather, he’s seeking something entirely out of such thing, therefore, let’s talk about it.
P.S: Theories exclude ships and remain within a neutral view.
To begin with, something that has been causing quite the surprise is to see Shikama Doji stating his life was ruined or rather was affected due to others along the cost of his “son”.
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 94
Back in chapter 94, Shikama stated hed create a dark sun; due to how he was blamed and he lost his child due to certain incident that is left unknown for the meantime; but, within this, there’s something that doesn’t make sense, what do I mean?
It is well known that Kagami Takaya takes inspiration of religion in order to bring forward this story, furthermore, it cannot be denied that Shikama Doji or Sika Madu takes inspiration of the devil, the fallen angel Lucifer; the angel that was punished for trying to be superior to God; of course such statement might differ depending on the religion.
But then, how can I state that Shikama is inspired by such figure?
Back then, at the beginning it felt that most things were fantasy until they mentioned the name of an angel, said angel was Michael and it wasn’t mentioned once but twice; the first one being Ferid Bathory and the second being the Hyakuya Sect:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 85
This only lead to the fact that some names within the Bible or other religious texts might come in, but then again, how can I state Shikama is heavily based on Lucifer?
It is known that the name Lucifer has different meanings such as: “Morning star”, “Light Bringer”, “Bringer of Dawn”, etc. And one of the biggest details the manga has given as an insight of this is displayed within this panel:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 57
In chapter 57, Kureto Hiragi faced Tenri Hiragi until he achieved victory, but, before Tenri died, he told Kureto that “a cursed god” would appear to him; after such thing was stated, Tenri died, Kureto said: “father?” to check if he was alive or not, but something rather fascinating is the fact that there was a light before the appearance of such cursed god; something similar to what the real name stands “morning star”.
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 57
Within Tenri’s corpse, his shadow slowly allowed to make Shikama appear after being using Tenri as his host until he could wait and eventually lead to the events of Shinoa’s possession.
But then, does this mean this is the only proof?
Actually, the second proof within this is according some passages which were focused on how Lucifer, before falling from heaven, he was able to walk down through rivers of fire, anywhere to impart wisdom to humanity; but among this, it is well known that Lucifer was one of God’s most beautiful creation and that’s something Shikama does share with said inspiration:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 57
Within the LNs, after Shinoa got Shikama Doji back, she was finally able to remember who he was along the fact she stated he/she was beautiful; furthermore:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 57
Shikama Doji stated that God’s personality was more twisted than him, implying he does have knowledge of God.
To even expand this, back in the World Resurrection LNs, specially in Vol. 2; Guren had a conversation with Rigr Stafford; Rigr stated that the First Progenitor was a being that played the role of a God; he decided which empires would come and fall along religions, ideas, etc.
Ironically, within this, it is often heard that the devil or formerly Lucifer, became prideful and arrogant which pretty much matches Shikama’s personality.
It could be said that Shikama Doji is heavily based on Lucifer or rather, there’s a chance that might be his real name at the very end.
Now, focusing again to the main point of the theory, Shikama mentions he broke a taboo:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 81
But what exactly was his taboo? Was it that he had a child or he betrayed God’s will?
While it is mostly seen in the manga that he mentions and is wishful to have Mikaela’s soul; there’s a huge issue that dismisses Shikama’s real intentions, what do I mean?
If many might recall, at the beginning of the LNs of Vampire Mikaela, the story dwells or rather states that it’s about revenge, revenge towards God. And so far, the one carrying such revenge is Shikama instead of Mikaela; therefore, what does this have to do with Shikama’s real intentions?
For this, let’s recall some events from the current story:
Back then, Shikama started to perform experiments until he found Ashera Tepes; him being the first human that became a vampire after drinking Yu’s blood in the Dark Ages of Greece, it seemed that he was seeking something within kids and of course, such thing was stated by Noya:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 85
Indeed, Shikama seeked to find a kidt that could become Mikaela but all the vampires failed; but why?
It is well known that most of the vampires were sired by Shikama with the sole exception of Ashera; it is unknown if the other demons also drank Yu’s blood or the First’s; but within this, there’s something revealing, what could it be?
Correct. Within this, Shikama was seeking to find beings that held down certain traits until he stopped and seeked to reach the Land of the Rising Sun; but only one of the Vampire Progenitors kept with this and that was Rigr Stafford.
Rigr Stafford found two subjects that held down the Michaela trait, those being Ferid Bathory and Mikaela Shindo; but among this, Ferid found another one on his own, which was Crowley Eusford.
But, between those three, only one held two traits which was Mika, he kept the Seraph trait and the Michaela trait from the very moment he was born and Rigr only made sure he was the perfect result of what he seeked.
But then, now that the past was brought, why does Shikama need Mika’s soul if he’s his supposed son?
The reason is that he is lying. Shikama doesn’t want to recover his son, but rather, he wants to recover his real power, what he was once long ago, but, is there a proof to this?
There is actually proof towards this; and the proof relies within Ashera, Krul and Rigr.
Therefore, let’s proceed:
1. Krul Tepes
Despite that she hasn’t talked that much in relation of the First, she has never seen the First Progenitor as a father, but as a monster or someone who took her happiness away:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 49
At that time, Krul Tepes was begging the First to not take her brother away, to not take Ashera and make him a demon, but, within this, there was something interesting; what could it be?
Correct. The fear Ashera once felt or rather, the fearful presence the First gave towards them was so different, it was as if Ashera didn’t recall how the First was truly:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 49
Ashera didn’t doubt the First nor had fear towards him, it was as if he knew everything he’d do would lead to a better future which has been quite the opposite.
Along this, after the First possessed Shinoa and after the events of his sealing along Mika’s death as a vampire; Krul didn’t want to go where the First was but Ashera told her it would be fine; but among this, it wouldn’t take long until he appeared again and one of the things that has been displayed by her is this:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
Krul displayed despair and fear of what it was about to come, same thing could be seen in the latest chapter:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 99
It means she’s very aware of the nature of the First Progenitor, not the fact that she met him back when he was just slowly taking steps of his own goals but rather, she’s aware about his real nature and power to the point he’d endanger the whole world to its collapse.
2. Ashera Tepes
While it’s true that Ashera was fearful of him but grateful due to him giving him the freedom to save his sister, after he became a demon, he lost his memories about everything, and when the battle between him and the First came and Yu headed off to his rescue, there was rather something interesting that he mentioned:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 74
Ashera states he has the power to mesmerize others along the level of danger he gives; this only gives an idea of what Shikama has always been, a real monster, but then, chapter 98 and 99 come into scene since it’s pretty much how the Black Demons gather and follow up the First’s original plan, but why?
This is due to the fact that the First might have brainwash them or rather mesmerize them to the point they’re obeying him without doubting his words; they’re still believing the stories about a greater future along his child
3. Rigr Stafford
As for Rigr, there really isn’t much to say since he’s pretty much opposed to the ideals of the FIrst; he’s even aware about something:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 84
The First Progenitor never awoke completely, as time passed when he was possessing Shinoa, his awakening became louder to the point all the Progenitors of the World felt his presence, but for Rigr, that was the ideal spot on which he could restrain him, keep him at bay and capture him for whoever knows what purposes.
Therefore, what could it be said about Shikama’s intentions?
His intentions aren’t focused on merely making the world better towards what he views “better” but rather, everything he’s doing, the fact he developed artifitial life, the fact he created artifitial seraphs or rather he was capable of developing the technique for that only implies a rebellion; a massive rebellion but for that, he needs more strength than what he currently has; but if that were the case, then what’d happen with the corpse, what is the corpse to him?
There’s a possibility said corpse wasn’t actually his son but rather his former body; but how can I state such thing when his powers are towards what his former body looked like?
Shikama Doji is well known for being a liar, he might promise everything, but it must be within his interests that the other party must accept, which is a deal; Shikama Doji once stated that thanks to the sins of x beings, they converted him into an inmortal that would wander around forever, this alone reflects that his current appearance might have not been the same, but rather, the one that was the corpse
And this lead us to the biggest question, what was his punishment besides wandering forever on Earth?
Correct. What he was or rather, the almighty power he once had was sparced, removed or taken from him. He lost all what he once had except his wings; all the divinity he once had was removed from him entirely which ended up giving him a body that would suffer the strains of the sun.
The fact he started seeking boys with traits was just the beginning but the real purpose for this wasn’t something vague or simple, but rather, he aimed to finally recover what he lost via them, he aimed to find a human that could harbor both traits in a natural way which is why this leads us to the present, this would explain why he’d need Mika’s soul since his body or rather his physical is long gone but his soul, his soul keeps all the information he once had, all what he was once...only to fill in the void he once lost.
NOTE: I must say this is a theory mostly based on doubts that linger within my head, of course, I hope you get to enjoy the theory, by this it doesn’t mean it’ll happen but it’s a possibility nevertheless.
What do you think?
Let me know!

OnS Theories (16S). Eighth Theory - Shinoa Hiragi. Who is she and what is she?
Hello everyone, I hope you’ve been well, remember to wash your hands and stay safe!
P.S: THEORIES DON’T INVOLVE SHIPS. THEY’RE FOCUSED ON NEUTRALITY
You might wonder why I’m making a theory related to Shinoa, and this is due to some detailes that have become rather interesting despite seem like something normal, therefore, let’s talk about it in this theory, shall we?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pReea0L1AC4
As we might recall, Shinoa Hiragi is deemed as a character that was created under an experiment performed by Tenri Hiragi. Said experiment was to create powerful beings but of course, within those experiments, only two beings survived, said beings were Mahiru and her sister.
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 97
And of course, due to the fact that Shinoa was the last being to born safe and sound from said experiment which in now we know that Shikama used his cells for such experiment, there were higher expectations towards her but; you might wonder, what’s new about this within the theory.
For that, let’s talk about some points that have been dismissed within the story:
1. Shinoa’s mother
Perhaps some might wonder what role Shinoa’s mother plays, and that there might be no relevance but, there’s actually an issue; if you might recall back in the Catastrophe LNs, it was mentioned that Tenri Hiragi killed Mahiru Hiragi’s mother when she was 5-6 years old; but what does this have to do with Shinoa’s mother?
Easy. Shinoa’s mother wasn’t killed, instead, she died in an unnatural way
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 97
It was said that the females chosen for the experiment were followers of the Hiragi Family; but within this, how is it possible for a human to disintegrate?
Correct. There’s no possibility unless said human was created. What do I mean?
If Shinoa’s mother was originally a normal human being, it could have been real that she’d have passed away after giving birth to Shinoa but, the fact that she literally disintegrated after her birth, it is something that cannot be expected from a normal human being but then, the question pops and why did Mahiru’s mother could surive?
The reason can be divided in two options, the First one being that she might have actually been a normal human being which was given a curse to give birth to Mahiru; while the second option could be that since she carried or brought Asuramaru with Mahiru, the effects weren’t harsher compared to Shinoa.
Within this, there’s more inclination towards the first option, and this is due to the fact that the First Progenitor, at that time didn’t or rather, couldn’t leave Tenri’s body as he pleased until Mahiru developed the Cursed Gears; on which he could bring a part of him or rather his shadow towards and this is actually crealy visible on how, after Tenri was killed in chapter 57 and the events of Shibuya, Shikama Doji ended up residing with his real host or wielder giving away a vast amount of power to his vessel.
Therefore, it can be said that Shinoa’s mother might have not been a normal human being but rather, an artifitial human like was Yu in the dark ages.
2.Shinoa’s similarities with the First Progenitor and Michaela
This point is quite dusty or rather was spoken in an old theory about how the First Progenitor and her shared many things in common such as their mannerism, physical aspect, and of course, you might wonder how this can be possible; for this, it was possible thanks to the experiments lead by Tenri Hiragi under the First’s command.
Within this, thanks to how the story has gone so far, it is visible that the First Progenitor aimed to bring back his son by other methods or rather create a vessel for his son with said methods
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 85 The angel Michaela seen by Noya,Krul,Ashera and Yu
So far, we know almost to nothing about Shikama’s son; so far, we know he aims to get Mika’s soul to bring back his son but the only perfect vessel he has is Shinoa; a vessel capable to withstand powers close to almighty; but now, can I state such thing?
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 97
Correct. Shinoa has shared many physical characteristics with Shikama’s son along some of his characteristics by using his cells, but why?
It is well known that the experiment Tenri directed ended since the scientists believed it was a waste and a failure alone; but Shikama was aware that Shinoa was the vessel he needed for his own goals, but why?
It is known that back in the past, Shikama took the First step of creating synthetic humans or artifitial humans which could be seen with Yu mass production; but the issue was that he lacked the concept of the soul; hence why Yu had no memories of his death, nor had knowledge of who he was; all he did was play and obey.
While in Shinoa’s case, it could be seen that she was created under a different method but with a possible base from the old experiment Shikama had in mind.
But then, how was it possible for Shinoa to acquire many traits from him?
Shinoa was born with special abilities that weren’t possible for the other Hiragi members; while Mahiru displayed intelligence, her latent abilities relied on other stuff such as her being able to harbor demons, being able to see them and have absolute control of her heart; and this is due to the fact that her heart didn’t harbor personal desires except a selfless love towards her sister which lastly, Mahiru had to break down so Shikama wouldn’t take advantage of her at a younger age.
But at the end, how does this relate to Shikama and the corpse of Michaela?
It could be said that, despite her having a slow personal growth, she was visioned to be the holder of Michaela’s soul in order to bring back what Shikama lost long ago; within this, there’s a key element and this is through the LNs of the Catastrophe.
After she got Shikama back, Shinoa felt as if Shikama was part of her or rather, the cursed gear created for him to reside was an extention of her instead of the most common thing to see within the wielders which is the adaptation and development of abilities between demon and wielder when it comes to the usage of their cursed gears; alas with Shinoa, she felt a connection between her and her demon after she got it back; she didn’t require training on how to handle her scythe in order to have mastery over it. There was a deep connection between them, a mysterious one between an unkown being and a girl who had no knowledge of the world but felt that Shikama and her were one and the same.
3. Who and what is Shinoa Hiragi?
Within this, it might seem that her relevance to the plot goes as to the part of being a vessel and that’d be all but actually; let’s start defining her by who she is.
Shinoa Hiragi at first seems like a sassy character within the story that ends up having admiration towards the Main Protagonist; of course it could be said that this is just an act.
Shinoa Hiragi is a character that harbors no emotion, she’s displayed as a character that doesn’t require emotions due to the past that involves her sister and the methods she considered good to protect her, and within this, it allowed Shinoa to forget her strong emotions she once held towards Mahiru, this only made her feel nothing towards reactions, pain, etc. which is really sad to see within the cast.
But of course, she gradually gets her memories back after Mahiru delivered Shikama Doji to her with the purpose to make her heart withstand the will of the First Progenitor. (This is seen in the Catastrophe LN Vol. 7)
With time, it is visible she starts to develop something considered as appreciation; what do I mean?
After she started interacting with Yu, Yoichi and Kimizuki; it could be said that her humanity slowly started to appear since back in old chapters Guren labeled as an ice hearted princess but with time; after the squad was born; after sharing a limited time of 5 months within the whole story since time works differently in the manga story; she gradually developed “love”. But of course, it is not love in the romantic side but rather, appreciation towards those who she considers family, those she needs to protect.
Of course, within this, she views herself as someone without power nor worth; that’s something heavily written in her heart which is why when she was about to get possessed in chapter 74, she tells Yu that she isn’t worth it:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 74
Shinoa tells Yu to not worry nor let it bother; this is due to the fact she doesn’t see herself as important or valuable; such thing can be visible in old chapters such as chapter 16 when Mitsuba talks with her about a high rank position which she dismisses it easily
But now that we have talked about who exactly she is and how she is defined or displayed, let’s talk about what she is.
As I stated before, many might have seen chapter 97 as a brutality or perhaps as a non important chapter but, there’s a detail dismissed within said chapter and the latest which was chapter 98, what do I mean?
Correct. Shinoa survived a powerful drug.
If many might recall, Mahiru Hiragi used a powerful drug that could destroy her vital organs so Shikama Doji wouldn’t peep into the conversation she held with the Queen:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
It is displayed how Mahiru literally suffered a massive loss of blood due to said drug, and she requested Krul Tepes to turn her into a vampire so she could have few minutes of freedom and share her plans to her without the knowledge of Shikama Doji. But within this, there’s something rather intriguing that involves Shinoa, what could it be?
Correct. Such drug appeared twice:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 97
It could be said that Mahiru used a powerful drug against Shinoa in order to truthfully hypnotize her so she wouldn’t have lingering feelings nor emotions toward pain, people and her sister; but within this there’s something rather interesting and disturbing.
Shinoa survived such drug; but how can I say that?
Due to investigations, it is said that one of the worst ways to torture a person is under drug effects; such drugs can lead to the death of said person; and of course, if Mahiru was trying to break Shinoa with beatings which didn’t work, then the effects of a drug could have a bigger impact on Shinoa; but despite of this, despite seeing that Shinoa at that time was around 4 years old despite being knocked down, she survived.
Such detail only leads to wonder, how exactly she managed to survive, and of course that leads to the First Progenitor in a way; but for the meantime, we shall leave it within a grasp of doubt due to the fact, we still don’t know how Mahiru removed Shikama from her.
Another thing to observe that is severely dismissed is the issue that she’s able to see the demons of other wielders; back in the Catastrophe LNs, Shikama told her she could accept any demon in her heart; but among this, she recalled she could see demons.
But how exactly was she able to? What was the key in order to achieve such ability?
It is sadly unknown how, if it had to do with the fact that she had the cells of the First Progenitor or if another element played within such factors; but, to see such ability, it can be seen within this chapters:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 51
One of these cases is seen when Yoichi managed to supress Gekkouin’s possession; Shinoa noticed Yoichi’s demanor which can imply she was observing if things could go wrong
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 73
Another example of this is taken back in chapter 73 when she tells Yu that his demon is in danger and crying out for help which gives an insight that she actually is capable to see the hearts of others or rather, that she’s able to peek if there’s stability between wielder and demon.
Another thing that can be observed is that she was going through a process of becoming a vampire but after all the possession ended, her body remained of that of a human with the exception she gained strength.
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 75
After Shikama started possessing her, instead of the common thing to see when a demon manages to possess its wielder, she started going through a painful vampire transformation; of course, said transformation was halted by Ferid Bathory by making the First Progenitor appear sooner than what the First expected.
Her body alone managed to handle for a good amount of time the pressure the First Progenitor submited through her after possessing her but of course, after the Sinful Keys were used, he decided to let himself be sealed for the meantime
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 85
Therefore, what can be said of what Shinoa is exactly?
Asides from what Krul stated that she’s a test subject for Shikama Doji; Shinoa is her own individual but of course, thanks to the First Progenitor, it is not possible to label her as a normal human being which is something displayed with the members of the Shinoa squad; it can be said that her body is more unusual than someone could expect; but in what exactly she could be defined is unknown; she got the seraph powers Shikama has, she was close to becoming a vampire since the source of all vampires was within her.
What do you think dear readers? What’s your insight of Shinoa’s character and what do you think she might be?
Let me know!
P.S: Reminder that theories don’t involve ships and are always focused on a neutral view.

OnS Theories (13S). First Theory - Demons and their selected weapons. Aspects of their personalities (Long Theory - Part I)
Hello everyone! I hope everyone’s been well!
We’re starting with a new theory season, this theory might be short or long depending on how it goes, but I’d like to talk about something peculiar cursed gears have. therefore, let’s begin!!!
As many might recall, cursed gears take different shapes and the weapons they end up possessing have differences despite focusing on certain attacks such as Close Combat, Illusion, Mid Range and lastly, Long Range Distance Attacks.
Despite this, why do I state demons have a selected weapon and shape?
To begin with, demons, despite losing their memories of who they once were, have certain traits from their previous selves. What do I mean?
For example, Asuramaru formerly known as Ashera Tepes, was a kind vampire, he always cared about Yu from the past and Krul, his sister; despite being turned into a demon, he kept one thing from the past self, and that is his kind nature.
At the beginning he was displayed as any other demon but, he was clearly different from others, how can I say this?
Well, once he introduced to Yuichiro, he told him to be wary of humans, which is something demons don’t really care about; compared to Yoichi and Kimizuki whose demons didn’t tell them about their humanity percentage, Asuramaru was the one that told Yu about it, which implies, a side of Ashera’s nature remained in the new being called Asuramaru.
Of course, with time, the previous nature started to take shape within him until he was able to remember who he once was. But now, why does the theory itself state the demons have a selected weapon?
As an idea that slowly grew, I started seeing how cursed gears were delivered to their respective users, in a way, the nature of the demons, the shape of the weapon the demon is in possession, resembles somehow the nature of the wielder. Therefore, what does this mean?
Correct. The users and their demons along the weapon itself they use to unleash power, is highly based on the nature of both; therefore, let’s talk into depth about the characters that appear the most and their respective cursed gears:
1. Yuichiro Hyakuya and Asuramaru (Ashera Tepes)
Yuichiro Hyakuya is often seen as a reckless boy that faces danger either with a plan or just goes straight to it, of course, that set of thinking changed in a way after the squad left the JIDA, though, eventually he ended up separated after being kidnapped and Mika ended up rescuing him only to face a battle against Guren Ichinose.
But now, what does Yu have in common with Asuramaru?
To begin with, Asuramaru as a demon used to have the same behavior as Yuichiro when they met; he’d offer Yu power or take over his body so he could go and face up stronger vampires; of course, this ceased once Yuichiro acknowledged that he wasn’t able to defeat them alone or by himself which is the part on which a change starts to happen.
Yuichiro and Asuramaru start exchanging words, and slowly, they end up building a strong bond which can be labeled as friendship.
Now, answering the question about the common related aspects; both, Asuramaru and Yuichiro have a kind heart. What do I mean?
Asuramaru before becoming a demon, he was always worried of the well being of his sister Krul Tepes, he cared a lot about her, and once he was rescued and turned into a vampire, his first thought focused on saving his sister, which is something similar to Yuichiro’s mentality or thoughts.
But now, why the title infers a lot the aspect of the weapon?
The fact that Asuramaru took the shape or more likely was infused in a weapon that looked like a katana or a sword speaks a lot about his personality; the fact that he wields a sword implies that Asuramaru/Ashera Tepes is firm with his thoughts, there’s no hesitation; swords were once weapons created to face down enemies, their clean cuts spoke about the will of the warrior itself and its determination.
Therefore, what does that mean?
Easy, that it wasn’t fate Asuramaru ended in a sword, it was his base personality that took shape of it; and the fact that Yu wields it speaks a lot about his will and determination as well.
2. Guren Ichinose and Mahiru no Yo (Noya & Mahiru)
Guren is often seen as the bad guy, as the villian of the story along the antagonist Shikama Doji; of course, this depends a lot on the perspective of the readers.
NOTE: Theories don’t focus on ships. They remain on a neutral view. Nor they focus on attacking characters.
Guren himself is one of the characters that has endured pain alone, but of course, I don’t justify his actions.
Guren is a character that decided to take down the path of an anti hero in order to restore the world, of course, said path involves hurting those who are dear to him. But asides that, why is Guren’s weapon a sword/katana and harbors two demons?
As I stated before, the sword itself reflects the will of a person and its determination. So far, Guren has displayed a strong will to continue on his path along that determination that despite it’s killing him inside, he’s not wavering nor doubting about it, he’s focused on concluding his goals.
Despite this, why is Noya’s selected weapon a katana/sword?
It is well said that Noya acts as a merciless character but of course, he has a tsundere demanor which is visible in the Catastrophe; asides that, Noya has a strong determination as well, what do I mean? In the catastrophe, his main goal was to take possession of Guren’s heart, of course, he wasn’t considering that Mahiru Hiragi would end up merging with him.
And again, the fact that they took the shape of a sword speaks of their determination as well but, within this, it is well known that some weapons reflect bloodlust, what do I mean? Noya and Mahiru are somewhat alike in terms of deciding to finish things quickly, even if it means taking someone else’s life
3. Shinoa Hiragi and Shikama Doji (Sika Madu)
These two are rather a complex duo, Shinoa herself is literally a reflection of Shikama Doji due to her looks, mannerism and personality but of course, there are aspects that made them being with each other, what do I mean?
If we talked about Shinoa Hiragi, her at the beginning in the catastrophe was displayed as a girl almost devoid of emotions, a girl that didn’t mind living alone nor minded eating canned food; there were no desires within her, she didn’t look people with utter respect but she acknowledged their strength which is something Shikama does as well.
After few years, she started to mold a personality, said personality started to grow as being caring towards others; which is highly displayed when she trained the squad to enhance their abilities with their cursed gears; furthermore, when they end up fighting Crowley Eusford, she decides whats best for the squad so they can escape alive.
Another emotion she ends up developing with time is “love”.
Many might believe that Shinoa’s emotion or feeling of “love” is related to “lust” just because Shikama Doji stated it; but here’s where line of difference starts, what do I mean?
First of all, Shikama Doji is unaware of Shinoa’s heart, so far, he’s sightly aware of what she feels, though, soft emotions she starts to grow, for him are directly focused to lust, which is a primitive reaction of human beings; in Shinoa’s case, she was secluded of those emotions, the fact that Yuichiro has displayed the positive energy within the squad, it’s something the squad as a whole has learnt from him.
Therefore, Shinoa’s “love” it’s more focused to admiration and respect; it’s focused on learning about other person and seeing what’s good or bad as a human being.
Now, Shikama Doji formerly known as Sika Madu, was possibly the angel Michaela that fell to Earth and from grace as well; his personality can be divided in two; despite him being shown as metriculous, a being that aims to fulfill his dreams no matter the cost nor the sacrifice, he aims to fulfill them even if it takes a lot of years. But, does Shikama have any other emotion despite showing clear signs of pride, arrogance, carefree attitude?
Despite being a facade or perhaps a distraction, it was clear that he gave signs of a well known treatment to the progenitors before he eventually left them.
The progenitors followed him no matter where; the Yu from the past treated with food in no one’s plain sight so was Ashera; Ashera later on got his gift granted which was to rescue his sister.
Now, why did Sika Madu end up taking the form of a Scythe?
Sika Madu and Shinoa share a character which is Shi, and naturally, it means 4 or death. The fact that Shinoa was born on december 25th which was actually the date of the End of the World along the fact that Sika Madu only brings death to those who drink their blood, it’s a natural aspect that he ended up taking the shape of it.
What does a scythe itself reflect?
Scythes are generally associated with Death or more commonly known as the Grim Reaper. In some cultures, Death is often seen as merciless, cold, even cruel, while in others, it can be seen with greatness, a means of making deals making up exchanges for a deal made,
Therefore, it’s a natural and befitting weapon Shinoa wields and so is the accurate shape Shikama Doji takes as well.
Well, this is the end of part I; I didn’t think it’ll end up in a long theory but well, let’s keep up in the next post!
In the meantime, what do you think guys? Do you believe this is accurate or not?
As always, theories don’t involve ships and there’s a point of neutrality within the theories.
Let me know what you think!!
