Because I'm a rebel, I'm going to do a bit from both my current WIP "Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland" and my just-finished-posting-today Valicer In The Dark story "Start At The Beginning...Sort Of" --

LB:DQ -- Briefcase Guy nodded, trembling. “What – what if their case is full of newspaper?” he got out after a second.

“Then at least we get to watch your illiterate ass try to read it later for laughs,” the leader spat, giving him a shove. “I know they got the goods. Just don’t ass it up, or they’re gonna kill the lot of us. Now get ready, it’s going down soon.”

SATBSO -- “By practicing my v-vows down the wrong alley,” Victor replied, worrying his bottom lip. “I – oh dear…” He grabbed his spoon and had a couple of fortifying sips of soup. “It’s like this – I’m due to be w-wed to the daughter of Lord and Lady Everglot, courtesy of my parents. We had the r-rehearsal today, and I was such a n-nervous wreck I couldn’t recall my lines at all. Pastor Galswells, our officiant, finally lost all patience with me after one too many mistakes, and b-banished me until I’d learned my vows. D-desperate to get them right, I ended up roaming Brightstone at random, repeating them to myself to try and get them straight in my head. I finally said them perfectly in an old forgotten side street overlooking one of the canals…and the moment I finished, a g-glowing blue figure in a w-wedding dress burst from the water, declaring ‘I do.’ I s-screamed and ran, but she managed to c-corner me on a nearby bridge and tried to k-kiss me. I fainted when her lips touched mine, and w-when I woke up, I was…” He waved his spoon in the air, as if trying to capture the enormity of the experience. “On the w-wrong side of the veil.”

LB:DQ -- “Indeed – or you could avoid the issue entirely,” Cheshire said, floating his smile over to another ladder on the wall in the darkened bay, just barely visible in the gloom. “I’m sure Rabbit would approve of you taking a shortcut, especially in order to avoid detection by anything that might try to stomp you.”

“I’ve apologized for that!” Hatter put in. “And made him that new watch!”

“It was the least you could do,” Rabbit said, paws on hips.

SATBSO -- “I don’t know – I don’t think so,” Victor said, letting his hands drop. “But you’re right, it is very hard to tell time in the ghost field…I’m sorry too, Emily,” he continued in a quieter voice. “I – I shouldn’t have lied to you about w-wanting to see my parents. I should have tried to explain better what was really wrong. But I – I didn’t have the words, and I was so scared and hungry and cold, and…” He sighed heavily, pressing his fingers against his forehead. “And absolutely nothing today has gone according to plan.”

“I know the feeling.” Emily perked up, a hesitant smile tugging at her lips. “But – but we can still make this work, right? We can alternate which side of the field we’re on day by day, so you can still eat and drink and not have to worry! We can even find a nice place to set up house together – one that’s in good shape in both my world and yours!”

“I think anyone who sees you two house-shopping is going to call the Spirit Wardens on you,” Alice couldn’t help saying.

LB:DQ -- “True,” Alice nodded. “Which reminds me – at some point tonight, I need to drop in on a certain Sean Milton. I don’t know how much honor there really is among thieves, but hopefully he has very little and will be willing to give up Muddy without a fight.”

“We’ll see on that front – and back, come to think of it,” Cheshire remarked, tail swaying as he kept pace. “But one side-quest at a time.”

SATBSO -- The gondolier gave Emily, floating near the prow, a significant look. “They always go up when the dead are involved.”

“I haven’t done anything,” Emily said, tone sulky and sparks crackling along the edge of her veil.

“And don’t start now,” the gondolier warned, frowning. “I may not be a Warden, but every one of us has got a bit of the Whisper about us. I know how to handle you lot.”

LB:DQ -- “Even better – they’re real robots! Well, sort of. . .” Victor popped open a bin and picked out a blue butterfly at random, showing her a block with some buttons on the – thorax, she believed it was called. “They each come with a ‘brain block’ like this where you can input simple commands. Obviously I can’t get any of them to fly – though I’ve always hoped – but I can get them to flap their wings if I shine a light on them, or follow a light being held in front of them – even play with a ball.”

“Neat,” Alice said, grinning. “You’ll have to show me later.”

SATBSO -- Emily went still, a frozen figure in tattered blue. Then she rushed forward at a speed no living human could have ever managed, face contorted in pure fury. Barkis yelped and tried to get out of the way, but she managed to clamp one spectral hand around his arm –

And, suddenly, she wasn’t there anymore. A split-second later, Barkis bent double, shrieking. “What – stop! No!”

“Yes!” came Emily’s voice – from Barkis’s own lips. Alice stared as he straightened up, wobbling like he was unused to controlling his own body. “The knife dropped from his fingers with a clatter. “You’re mine now, Eddie!”

LB:DQ -- She got to the bottom of the slope and looked around. While the layout was roughly the same, the entrance to level two was noticeably darker, thanks to a busted light fixture in the nearest “compact” bay. It also had different guards – two fellows who looked to be Chinese, dressed in matching burgundy jackets and wielding machine guns. One jerked his head around as she snuck closer, causing her to freeze out of habit. “It’s too quiet,” he said after a moment, shaking his head. “I-I don’t like this – this place. At night it seems so – haunted.”

SATBSO -- Smiler sorted and pointed at their eyes, brilliant yellow in their pale face. “What, do you think I was born with these?”

“...actually, it has genuinely never occurred to me to question why your eyes are bright glowing yellow before now,” Alice confessed, cheeks heating up with embarrassment. “They just seemed – completely natural on you.”

“I – I mean, I noticed, but – given everything else that was going on, they – didn’t really register as that weird?” Victor admitted, also going pink. “Alice is right, they do suit you...I sort of thought they might be a side effect of that Joy Serum you showed me before, since you said you make it yourself.”

Fylass In Wonderland - Chapter Eleven - Domains of the Heart (TW: MENTIONS OF MENTAL DISORDERS)

The trees were Crimson Queens, and the path was filled with red roses; the first things Fylass and Dolly were able to see in this place, that seemed to be the edge of Wonderland, or, well, the end of the Wonderland that Fylass was determined to keep going for, since they could clearly see villages on the distance, but the kid had enough of walking to get here; they maybe didn’t notice it, but their feet were hurting to no end, from all of that running from the regulars’ hold, or from running from Genesis, or for walking down an entire kingdom just to get here. "...This is it… I can see the castle…" Fylass said, and indeed, the Card Castle was there, looking oddly similar to a castle on the skies that was home of a certain cloud queen they know well thanks to a visit they had.

"...I think I know who the Queen is…"

"Eh? You do, best friend?"

"...I got a feeling I know who she might look like… But we better figure it out-... Wait, who’s there?"

There was an individual right next to the other two, and they seemed to be painting white roses red with small paint brushes, if that even made sense. Fylass tried to focus on seeing them properly, and they realized their identities, as they noticed the kids as well.

"Oh? Who’s there?" One of the individuals said, as they ran towards Fylass cheerfully. The kid tried to walk away, but was eventually reached by the individual, only to confirm their suspicions on who they were....

"Hello there, pal! How are you today?" Said the individual…

"...Twilight… You are here too."

"And you know my name? That’s lovely! And you’re the club too?! That’s amazing! The Queen has been looking everywhere for you! She would be so happy to see you at last!" Twilight said; he seemingly was one of the Queen’s servants, and he also seemed like someone with not too many brain cells on their head. 

"Er, Twilight Knight? Why were you going faster than light?" The second guard said, as they approached to the knight, and Fylass realized it was Verin.

"Oh! How are you doing, child? What are you doing here in the wild?" Verin said, in rhymes.

"Uh… Hello there?"

"Greetings as well, possible them!" She said, as she realized Fylass’s Club eyes, and the last individual came to see the area. 

"Alright, alright, what are ye doing around here? You should be painting the flowers, not wandering around to see some kid that is probably just lost." The last knight of the group said, and… 

"Ava?"

"Hm, you know my name, that’s unusual, anyways, what are you looking for-... Club?!" Ava realized who they were talking to in the first place; the individual The Queen was looking for for a while at this point. "Dear lord! You finally appear! Although I don’t see the knights I commanded, where are they?"

"Huh? Knights? I didn’t see any knights around here…"

"Hm… That’s odd… Did they get stuck drinking tea back at the Hatter’s house or something?" Fylass seemed to know what they were talking about, and considering their conversation, Fylass could only expect the best results, and that they did escape the area they were stuck in.

"...Oh well, not that it matters now that you’re here. Let me escort you to the castle." Ava said, as the other two knights were staring; one with joy, and the other with slight concern, and Dolly, hidden behind Fylass, was nervous, and Fylass knew why; to be honest, they were nervous too, but they had to find a way home, and The Queen seemed to be the only individual that could help, but knowing who she might be, Fylass only could hope that she was on her good side today…

"...Sure…" Fylass said. "Come on, Dolly, let’s go…" Dolly was nervous, but she grabbed Fylass’ hand, and went step by step with them, and the knights, to the entrance of the Castle, only to see a gate that blocked the way, and it was locked.

"Er… Twilight Knight, use the key to open the gate."

"...Uh… I think it’s in Dull Glass now… I accidentally dropped it behind one of the couches, and I couldn’t find it…"

"Oh come on…"

"...Is it this key?" Fylass said, as they silently told Dolly to give them the key they found in Dull Glass, along with those strange papers they found along the candles. 

"...Yes, it is the one… Thank god you had it…" Ava said as they took the key away from Fylass, and opened the gate, and afterwards, the door of the Castle was opened, and it was beautiful, even though it could be confusing, with only seeing colors of black and red in left, right, and center.

"Wow… I’ve never seen so much red in one place only…"

"...Our Queen has… interesting tastes…" Twilight said, trying to be as nice as possible.

"Well, if I am being honest to you, Club, this Castle has always been like that since the beginning, and we know that thanks to one of our soldiers, that kept living for years and years, approximately 90,000 years old." Fylass found some sort of familiarity to those words, but it was sure that they hadn't heard something that specific before, but at this point, anything might be possible.

The three knights, along with Fylass and Dolly, used the nearby stairs of the Castle to get to the top floor; Fylass tried to check the other places of the castle, but the other knights wouldn’t let them do that, although it was clear that Twilight Knight would be more than willing to do so. Each floor seemed to have a certain theme though, having a different color and aesthetic. The first floor had a dark blue aesthetic, with a locked door, and a spade symbol above; the second floor had a purple aesthetic, with another locked door, and a diamond symbol above; and the third floor had a golden aesthetic, with yet another locked door, and a club symbol above it. 

"...Could you please let me explore the Castle, please…?"

"I am sorry, Club, but we can’t let you do that, since you need to meet The Queen first." Fylass and Dolly were really nervous, but they tried to have a straight face for it, for obvious reasons, and after a lot of steps, the group got to the top floor.

The end of the stairs led to a red room that had some furniture fitting for the area, and a red door, with the heart symbol above. 

"Could you give me the key of red? I don’t want to be left on read." Verin said to Ava, trying to convince them to give her the key to the door.

"Alright, I guess it is your turn on this one." Ava did give her the key to her to open said door, and she seemed happy, thankful even, for some reason. The key was inserted on the door, and opened side by side, to reveal a set of hallways on the sides, and on the center, a red throne with golden frames was in place, right in front of a window that showed the night sky that seemed to never end. Fylass was impressed, and they would’ve taken a better look to their surroundings, if they didn’t notice someone sitting at the throne, drinking a purple-ish liquid from a well polished cup of tea.

Her looks were beautiful, with a red and black dress on the sides, a golden crown, hair with the same colors as the dress, and a small wand with a heart shape on the end of it; it was clear who she was though, when she opened her eyes to see the group, revealing eyes with irises red as crimson, and white pupils with the shape of a heart.

"Oh, you are here, have you finished painting the roses red?" She said, with a voice as gentle as could be, but still managed to send chills down Fylass’ and especially Dolly’s spines; Dolly, deep down knew that this was necessary for her best friend to find their home, but she couldn’t help but being nervous, at the point where she didn’t even dare to speak up.

"Negative, Queen, but the reason for that is that we finally have found the person you have requested us to look for." 

The Queen, seemingly curious to see what they were referring to, looked at the other two individuals standing beside the knights, and kept direct eye contact with Fylass, and she realized who was right in front of her.

"Goodness Gracious! The Club is right in front of me! This is more than I was expecting from you!" The Queen declared. "Go on! I would ask for you to leave, since you did a great job-..." She seemed to notice the doll right behind Fylass. "Oh, who are you, little girl?"

"T-This is Dolly, Her Queen…"

"Hm, okay. Guards, could you please escort her out of the castle? I will be talking with the Club for a little while." 

The knights quickly obeyed her orders, and did as such, with Dolly slowly getting out of the room, with a sad, and nervous face, since she knew that they might not meet each other again, since Fylass will probably just go home, and not see her again…

The door closed behind her, as she and the knights left.

"Oh, I have been waiting for AGES to have a talk with you, Club, you have no idea…" The Queen said.

"...I-It’s nice to meet you at last too, Queen Somnia…" Fylass knew who she was, since they saw her before, and yet, they knew that this Somnia wasn’t the one they remembered; from what they’ve heard from this adventure, she isn’t the nicest individual…

"...You know my name, you surely have manners, hm?" Fylass couldn’t tell if that statement was made from kindness, or malice, but they were too nervous to try and ask. 

"Either way, you have permission to wander towards my place; I will prepare a dinner for us to speak more calmly, for I have manners to discuss with you, after all of this time." Queen Somnia spoke again. "I’ll see you in a couple of minutes." Fylass saw her leaving to a specific room on the left hallway, and at this point, they weren’t going to follow her.

"...Guess I’ll have to wait for dinner if I want her to help me find a way out…" Fylass thought, as they silently left the area, to explore the right hallway.

Many doors on the sides, but Fylass wasn’t able to open them; they didn’t seem locked but if the door was fused with the wall; many drawers and more on the hallway, but Fylass never dared to get close to them, for they feared they might break something. They were anxious, but also sad, since they couldn’t even say goodbye to the people they’ve known in this land; even if they weren’t the ones they remembered, Fylass still holds them deeply into their heart.

After a while though, the little penguin could catch a glimpse of a door that wasn’t closed, leading to a dark room. Fylass thought that it would be a way out, somehow, so they took a peek in; only to see piles and piles of paper on the ground and walls.

"...What…?" Fylass didn’t want to enter the room, but at the same time, they felt lured in, like a hug from a creature made of ice, with a sense of warmth in that land of frosted cold, so they entered.

The darkness was almost palpable, with a sense of dread lurking in the pitch black room that seemingly had no end; voices whispering unintelligible nonsense, like a toddler trying to say their first words to their parent; after that, more steps were made towards the darkness, as a sound of someone seemingly banging something towards a wall, as Fylass saw blue-ish feathers scattered on the floor, along with what seemed to be little drops of blood, as they heard a voice; their voice, crying painfully, somewhere on the room.

"W-What is happening?! Why is this replaying-" Fylass suddenly found the end of the room, as they managed to see another medical report on the wall, and this time, everything was readable.

"The following is an early observation that I, XXXXXX XXXXX, made on your child, Fylass Paragon Astralio, after the recent termination of xxxxxx xxxxx, two weeks ago, which was a very hard investigation due to the lack of motivation the child had when trying to get out of his room, but this is what I found:

The patient is going through a severe case of hysteria, along with depression with symptoms like constantly changing mood, painful crying, among other unnerving issues. The problem went worse however, since this last week, the symptoms have gotten from seizures with unknown origin, banging his head towards a concrete wall at the point of it starting to crack, to plucking out their own feathers in fits of rage.

Amongst all of this, he seemingly is going through symptoms very similar to the ones of lunacy and schizophrenia, since from what I could gather from his words, he was hearing XXXXXX's voice everywhere he was looking. The last day I tried to check on him was even worse, since they were starting to play around with knives along with some other dangerous equipment in the kitchen, and somehow managed to pierce through the walls of it.

This is not mocking matters anymore, XXXX XXXXXXXXX, since this plan of yours is starting to become something incredibly disturbing, and I know perfectly what is going to happen and you, sir, don't listen to me, although you never do, sadly.

What can I only hope for, is that you act fast. In all regards,

XXXXXX XXXXX, Mental Health Department."

Fylass stood still, and immediately after, they felt as if their body shut down, falling face flat on the floor, and the last thing they were able to hear was a soft giggle, and footsteps coming near them…

Dolly was now outside, feeling sad, and at the verge of tears, for seemingly losing their best friend, and was about to leave. "Maybe Dolly could try to go to the circus to feel better…" She said, but she quickly heard someone coming towards her. It was Lucid.

"...Huh? Porcelain man? What are you doing here?"

"...Where’s Fylass?"

"...Well… they’re up there, with the Queen…"

"...Oh no, we need to act fast."

"...What do you mean? We’re the only ones here."

Dolly didn’t seem to realize something, that there were people below Lucid’s hat, so Lucid took it off to reveal small versions of Chaos, Kurabe, Fettuccine along with a small mirror, Mikuto, Pleiades, Blossom, Genesis, Damian, Fela, Soliera, and the Cheshire cats.

"Oh. But wait, what’s going on? Dolly thought that-"

"Listen, we need to act fast, the world is shattering, and we need to save Fylass before it’s too late."

"W-What?!"

"...I understand that you might be confused on the matter, doll, but it’s best if we keep on going before the clock ticks." Said another voice behind Lucid, and when Dolly took a peek to see who was the one talking, she realized that it was Singularity, along with Wisp, the latter not wanting to speak.

"...Dolly doesn’t know what happens but… If her best friend is in danger…"

"...Dolly will save them."

Fic Recs: Awesome OFCs edition

For some reason OCs tend to draw a lot of fire in certain fandom circles but I love them unapologetically. For me they are a brilliant way to add something new, something unexpected to a well known and well loved story. So, here‘s my utterly incomplete list of „fics that should be read for their awesome OFCs alone“.

Theodora Byrne in @esta-elavaris epic "Catch the Wind" (AO3).

Oh dear, where to start. I am forever in love with Theo. I'd kill for her, I'd die for her. Her sass, her indomitable spirit, her way of throwing poor James Norrington off kilter. The whole story is just shy of 418k words and a beautiful, terrifying beast to behold. I unwisely started it on a Friday night shortly before going to bed and simply could not stop until my darling, long-suffering husband put his foot down on Sunday and made me eat, drink, shower, sleep and (most cruelly) sent me off on Monday morning to resume adulting.

I'm not sure if I should own up to it in public but to tell you the truth: I have not been able to pick it up since that day. Not because I do not want to (oh how I want to!) but because I am afraid. Afraid that the story will end and I am not ready for it. Afraid for what might happen to Theo and James. When I left them in chapter 63/101 they were happy, comfortable and (relatively) save but with the whole ordeal of "At World's End" still ahead of them.

Should you still put down everything else to read it? Yes! Absolutely! Go! Now! Shoo! And don't be a wuss like me, the story deserves so much more!

Nika in "This Destiny is Mine" (AO3) by @messy-insomniac-bookgirl

I knew I was done for when one of my favourite authors decided to let one of her gorgeous female leads tackle one of literature’s most heinous crimes: The fate of Boromir. No way I would not root for her, rage with her, fear for her, laugh with her. A beautifully nuanced and overall kick-ass female lead that I cannot get enough of.

The story itself is not too long yet and is intriguingly hard to place. The author calls it a fix-it. And it is... but also not... not really... It gives us an OFC but she's no 10th walker. It has already made me feel everything it is humanly possible to feel, sometimes within the span of one short chapter alone.

Amazing storytelling and I cannot wait to find out where this journey will take Nika.

Having to deal with the emotional hot house that is Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is nothing for the faint-hearted and calls for especially intrepid female leads. So, this list would be utterly incomplete without her.

Meet, Jeyna: historian, archeologist and - suddenly and unnervingly - subject of Kylo Ren's scrutiny. I absolutely devoured her stroy with all it's amazing world building, obscure Star Wars lore and action.

Wonderfully dense story telling garnished with spot on characterizations. Headstrong, brave, resourceful, sharp-tongued Asta is a sight to behold and I could not get enough of her clashing with Eomer.

Eomer/OFC. Idiots in love, shouting matches and kisses. Rated T.

"Is Tywin Lannister Evil?"

I saw this question as a poll on YouTube a fee hours ago. I should've taken a screenshot, or at least noted the number of votes, but I didn't think much of it, and now I can't find it.

But I was a little surprised by the ratio. 75% instead of 95+. It's been eating at me.

So I wanted to talk about it. TW: Song of Ice and Fire stuff below the cut.

So here are some of the evil things Tywin has done, with possible "justifications" that aren't really an excuse when you look at the crime.

The background.

Tywin's dad Tytos was an incurable people-pleaser who never said no to his vassals and peers. This led to a marked drop in prestige of House Lannister. Tywin grew up with everyone mocking the family to their faces, and being unable to do anything about it. It was his childhood trauma. Perhaps the biggest insult was the prostitute his father took as a lover once Tywin's mom died. She acted with the full confidence that she was Lady Lannister, with all the power and prestige that brought her. And Tytos got mocked for it. Savagely, and perhaps deservedly.

So this upbringing shaped Tywin's outlook on life, and made him obsessed with projecting power and punishing all offenses. Here are the best ones.

1. The destruction of the Tarbecks of Tarbeck Hall, and the Reynes of Castamere.

These were among the houses that took loans from his father, but refused to pay. Tywin and his brothers, fresh from the war if Ninepenny Kings, made one demand for the repayment, then ended both Houses so thoroughly that the most iconic song from the series was born: "the Rains of Castamere." But he didn't just punish the guilty ones. No, to quote Anakin, "Not just the men, but the women and children too!"

2. The penance of his father's mistress.

The mistress' name is unknown, but her deeds were recorded. Despite not even being married to the Lord, she didn't hesitate to act as Lady; ordering Knights, dismissing servants, sitting on his seat and handling affairs of Casterly Rock, wearing Lady Jeyne's jewelry (Tywin's mom). Naturally, when Tytos died and Tywin took the throne, her doom was sealed. She was paraded naked through the streets for a fortnight before being exiled.

She is the reason why Tywin keeps telling Tyrion to be discreet with his prostitutes, and not give them any power over him... though this is often interpreted as a warning to not have them at all. In A Dance with Dragons, his brother Kevan reflects that Tywin might never have guessed his daughter would suffer the same fate.

3. The Sacking of King's Landing.

The Lannisters stayed out of the war until the very end. Until Rhaegar was killed, and the Rebels were headed for the capital. Tywin appeared at the gates, saying he was going to help the king. Instead, his forces sacked it so badly, they're still hated by the small folk. His henchmen, led by the infamous Mountain, killed Rhaegar's wife Elia Martell of Dorne and their daughter, and probably their son too (conspiracy at work here), and Tywin claims he "forgot" about Elia, though many find this unlikely.

In his "defense" the king was mad as a hatter infected with the Joker toxin. He did a lot of highly cruel and stupid things that lost him all of his allies. Many Lords were clearly just waiting for him to die so his nice son Rhaegar could take the throne, but that ship was bashed in with a hammer. But was that a reason to sack the capital? And kill thousands? Nope.

3. The Red Wedding.

Unable to defeat Robb Stark in the field, Tywin Lannister approved of his murder at a wedding. His justification was, "Explain to me, how it's more noble to kill 1000 men on a battlefield, than 10 at a wedding." And while I see his point, it's the principle of escalation. He invited anarchy by behaving in a sleazy manner. All of his allies came under siege almost right away. There's a saying here in India, "Those who protect dharma (which can mean righteousness, duty, or the law) are protected by it." And while it's not always true that a righteous man is protected by the law, the unrighteous are definitely looked down upon. People are always waiting to take them down. And it happens. The moment Tywin dies, Jaime tells Cersei that the people aren't waiting outside to mourn their father, but make sure he's really gone. By contrast, Robb Stark is very much respected. People are still willing to die in his memory.

4. The treatment of Tyrion.

While not exactly a crime, Tywin has always treated his youngest son badly. He half-believes that Tyrion isn't his son, but is unable to prove it. Even if his suspicion is false, a lot of his hatred for his son actually stems from two facts: Tyrion is a dwarf, and Joanna Lannister (Tywin's wife, whom he did love) died giving birth to him. We see this trend a lot, where a family hates the child who "took their mother's life," and this is also the major reason Cersei cites for hating him, but it's really sad for poor Tyrion, who grew up feeling their resentment at every turn in his life.

5. The treatment of Tysha

Tysha was a girl whom Jaime and Tyrion saved on the road, about Tyrion's age. Tyrion quickly fell in love with her and married her in secret. But his dad found out the second the Septon sobered up. He instantly remembered his dad's second mistress.... maybe. His punishment of her was severe. He forced Jaime to lie that he'd hired her to make Tyrion happy, then ordered everyone in his barracks to gang-rape her, before forcing Tyrion to do so himself. He paid her a silver coin for each of his guards, and a gold one for Tyrion, then banished her. This incident was the main reason for Tyrion really flying off the rails and killing Tywin, and swearing the harshest of revenge on his family. They--Tysha and Tyrion--were no older than Sansa was in A Storm of Swords, and very innocent to boot, which makes this the worst crime in my eyes.

So why are 25% voting he wasn't evil? Probably because of his portrayal onscreen, which is a lot more sympathetic to most of the characters (except Stannis). And also, perhaps, because of the nuance in his character, his backstory. They might find it understandable. The ends justify the means. But that's really not so to me.

FEA character mini-analyses: the house lords, rhea, and byleth

Now without further ado... let us begin!

Edelgard as Raven Queen: the biggest hurdle for writing El as Raven was--and honestly still is--the huge personality difference. While El is kind, she's not exactly... as nice? I also imagine her inner monologue to be a lot less insecure than Raven's, so I had to take some liberties on that front. Other than that, though, I can't think of any reason why Edelgard wouldn't be the leader of the Rebels--she's here to contest the system and make a real change. To echo her twin Crests, I tweaked Raven's destiny-bound magic so that El just has weaker magic than she should, and thus relies on spellcraft.

Dimitri as Apple White: I don't think Dimitri would actually be as in love with his story as Apple apparently is, but they share their obsession with duty and what I would call an intense fear of the unknown. Dimitri disagrees with El for exactly the same reasons as Apple disagrees with Raven--because of the disastrous consequences of division and unrest. Apple isn't hiding any demons in her head, though, so again we have some liberties at play. I thought having super-strength (echoing the Blaiddyd Crest) would be an interesting secret for Dimi to keep.

Claude as Madeline Hatter: Claude is the son of Alice here, but Alistair from the original show never did anything interesting and no one else deserves Maddie's iconic role. I couldn't make the Wonderland situation perfectly parallel to Almyrah, but I do want a spotlight on Claude's identity being split between Fódlan and Wonderland. Even though there are other Wonderlandians, he's the only one who is from both worlds--who has to be both logical and mad, but is never quite enough of each. Just, you know, the typical TCK experience. Oh, and talking to the Narrators is of huge importance too!

Yuri as Ramona Badwolf: I took some biiig liberties with this one. Yuri is not related to Bernadetta, but he has the Badwolf name because Mr. Badwolf needed to hide his marriage to Red while still preserving the story's future somehow. I never liked the idea of him having another child, so I thought it'd be cool to mess up some succession laws and have Yuri--the only house lord in the game who didn't come from a wealthy background--"fight" for his destiny by beating all the other Wolfs to it.

Rhea as Milton Grimm: well this is a no-brainer! I'm still smoothing out the wrinkles in how her backstory has to do with Sothis, but just like Milton, Rhea's fear of losing control causes her to rewrite history to fit her narrative. This is gonna be key in FEA.

Byleth as... like... Just Byleth: so... yeah, Byleth doesn't get an important role in this AU, mostly because I couldn't think of a good reason they'd be involved. Honestly it would be hard for me to write them in an interesting way so I'm fine with that.

other characters: Seteth mostly suffers at the hands of chaos and Flayn enjoys it. Jeralt is mentioned exclusively by Leonie. Sothis does not appear as a living character but uh... let's not spoil that. Rodrigue appears as often as I can allow because he's King Charming (!!), who teaches a class at EAH. For the most part, I don't include the 3H students' original parents. Dimitri's father is still named Lambert but his mother is the EAH version of Snow White; likewise for Edelgard. As for the Ashen Wolves--Constance is the daughter of the Marsh King (look it up; I think you'll agree with me!), I made Hapi the daughter of the Sea Witch just because, and Balthus... there's no good reason for him to be around, I'm afraid :(

You watch how the large Maine Coons walks around the estate with no much care but as spider comes from the corner he jumps and a portal appear below his feet, in you two go to another place.

The corridors seems too long and maze like but before long, he made a leap up to the roof and you saw the view of twisted world from above.

Vermillion flowers that grows almost in the haft of the view, two sides and the madness mansion is station in the between of those sides.

He put you down in between of his front paws as he lay down and hugs your small feline form to make you safe from falling off the edge.

"meow. (=^ ◡ ^=) ( cousin, isn't the world beautiful in it's twisted way?)" The Maine Coons ask you as he lick your furr to clean you off the scent of that mad hatter and it's minion.

"meow? ( What? Why are you calling me cousin...)" You were so confuse why this big house cat is calling you that

"Meow, meow (=`ω´=) (aiyo, my adorable cousin don't want to be my cousin no more? Shall you be my child instead?)" The cat mewl as he put his paws on top of your head after he lick off the last scent that can truck you down.

"meow.. Meow??? (Wait... Are you... The Cheshire cat???)" Your adorable large cat eyes widen as you realize who this is. But it strange, you think Cheshire cat is a person too. But such a fluffy cat. "Meow... (Soft fur)" You rub your head against his fur thinking how soft it is.

"meow. (^˵◕ω◕˵^) ( you like my soft coat ? Ah. I'm glad.)" His eyes seems to sparkle in glee before he look down to the garden, he saw someone is looking up to him. It was the mad hatter who have already sense his presence.

That person knows his in his mansion the very beginning, what every type of event happened in his domain, he knows it all. He have eyes everywhere.

He watch in amusement how Blood cross his arms and stared to his eyes with dull eyes not amuse by his presence to his domain even in the slightest.

" meow meow... (=①ω①=) ( does that guy really think I will left him off and have such treat? Since you claim to be my relative. Your now my responsibility)" he suddenly bite the back of your neck again as mad hatter point at your direction and the mansion roof transform into set of sharp blade and descended to the two of you-- more to the cat who's holding you by the nape.

But those blade all enter a portal and all went to the direction of the mad hatter who wave his hand to change the flower of danger from hi. With a snap those blade become roof tiles once again.

"blue." You heard mad hatter called before long, the taller blue appear before you with a smile on his face.

"we don't think so kindly to tresspassers. Now parish." Blue says as he attack Cheshire cat who's carrying you but the mischievous cat jump back and enter a portal and now the two of you are gone from the mansion.

Blood stared at the scene as he wave his hand to fix his mansion roof, blue come down and bow down in his knees in front of blood already expecting the punishment.

"I have failed you, my Lord."

"ah.. what shall I do... " The mad hatter murmur as if in deep of thoughts, his bangs over shadow his eyes as he stared at his useless minion.

"Sir Mad hatter... Should we give chase?" Grey ask in worry.

"... Hmm... Kokoko..." He suddenly chuckle, a sinister chuckle. "They will be back... That stupid lying feline cannot survive outside after all... What's the point of using man power in such trivial thing... " He returns to his chair as he cross his leg, once again resting his head against his palm. As grey serve him vermillion tea.

Staring at the tea reflection his smile drop as a thought come in mind. He once again in a deep thoughts when there's nothing to disturb his mind and he tone down the volume of madness.

"meow meow (=`ω´=) ( since we're out of that place, which place do you wanna visit my little kitten? ) Do you wanna go cause some trouble in that vermillion bitch king or the childish white king? " When the two of you are outside the madness mansion, Cheshire cat put you down to draw two paws of the two good place to visit on the ground.

rainy morning and windy – fair about 9 – had A- then with Robert Norton the joiner – till F44 ½° inside and 40° outside at 7 ¾ - moving books till breakfast at 8 5/.. in about ½ hour – Mr. Horner came about 8 40/.. – then till nine and  a half preparing linen for cousin and sewing up one stocking for ditto   A- would be bad as ever but as I told her I would make no more inquiries and take the leas[t] possible notice – from 9 35/.. to about 10 ½ at account etc. then went down (A- came for me to see her drawing) to Mr. Horner till 10 50/.. – then gave A- her Brodie tonic 1 teaspoonful in 3 ditto of water and she lay down by me for a few minutes till 11 10/.. – then had her with me dusting and moving books till luncheon at 12 for about ¼ hour or more – she had a cup of sago with a glass of sherry in it – stood talking   said I would ask her to trust but was decidedly of opinion she had better do it  she says she will and we are to go to York on Saturday for the purpose of seeing Mr. Watson on the occasion she is afraid of being taken from out of my care – after luncheon had A- with me in the tower study till after 3 – she rode off to Cliff hill at 3 ½ - note from Mr. Parker this morning (the boy waiting an answer – said I would send one tonight) while in the tower study to say ‘Mr. Day will not give up his draft plan, but engages that one fair plan shall not exceed six guineas, and thinks it will not come to so much – Mr. Day quite understands that the ground is to be laid out in streets and building plots. A- read French – Letter from Mrs. Desvoeux very satisfactory character of Gross and his wife – he thoroughly understands his business as travelling servant and is a good and active servant – she ‘understands dressmaking millinery and hair dressing pretty well and is a careful packer’ – both are ‘perfectly honest, sober, obliging and trustworthy servants’ – Letter too from Mrs. Hawkins – he inquired at the house of Mrs. Desvoeux, and both be and Mrs. Hawkins pleased with the appearance of the 2, and satisfied as to character – she says, they are very anxious to be engaged
