“Daniel! Daniel wake up!”

Daniel groaned as the knocking on the door grew louder. He threw his pillow over his ears, trying to muffle out the noise, “Stop knocking so loud!”.

He winced as his head throbbed.

“Sound check is in 30 minutes dude, you’re going to get us late!”

“30 MINUTES?!”, Daniel shot up in bed. How did I get so late?

He cursed under his breath and got up. A sudden wave of dizziness hit him and he swayed, trying to steady himself.

“Daniel?!”

“Just give me a minute!”, he replied, rushing to the bathroom. Daniel hurriedly washed his face and brushed his teeth. A silver glint of a chain on his wrist caught his attention and he grinned cheesily.

“Daniel!!”

He spat out his toothpaste, “I’m coming! I’m coming!”, he yelled washing his mouth.

He threw on the nearest pair of jeans and shirt he could find, and pulled on a pair of vans before yanking open the door, “I’m ready,” he panted.

“What took you so long?”, Corbyn asked.

Daniel rubbed his forehead, “Didn’t hear the alarm, I guess. Does anyone have an Advil?”

Jon pulled out the bottle of Advil, handing it to Daniel who thanked him.

As the group walked to the elevators, Jonah tugged Daniel behind, “Dude, were you drinking last night?!”, he whispered.

Daniel groaned, “Shhh, not so loud please.” His reaction was enough to confirm Jonah’s suspicions. Jonah shook his head, “Unbelievable,” he muttered.

They neared the elevators and the door from last night fell into his view.

“TO THE ROOFTOP”

He smiled softly as a memory from last night came back to him.

“Ssooo, you’re tellllling me that you have never ever never ever ever seen snow?!”, Daniel gasped dramatically.

Y/n sulked, crossing her hands, “Stop!! Meanie!  You’re making fun of me!”. She pushed Daniel’s shoulder, huffing.

“H-hey stahp!” Daniel cried out.

Y/n picked up the bottle and shook it, “It’s empty?! Already!!?”

Her head swayed and she turned to Daniel, “Did youuuuu finish the last part?”

Daniel shook his head, “Nope. You did!”

“No, I didn’t!”

“Yessss, you did!”

“Wait”, y/n cried out, “What if we both did it?”.

Daniel froze, contemplating it before he gasped, “We did!”

The two broke into a fit of laughter, before quietening down again.

Daniel wiped a tear from his eye, smiling.

“You have a very pretty smile,” y/n suddenly blurted out.

Daniel turned to y/n, his eyes tracing her features.

“You have very pretty eyes,” he whispered.

“Daniel! Let’s go!”

Daniel snapped his head around to find the group waiting in the lift. He quickly jogged and entered the cubicle.

“I never thought I’d see the day when Daniel would show up late,” Jon chuckled.

“I never thought I’d see the day when Daniel would smile at a door,” Zach laughed and the others joined.

Daniel just shook his head, too distracted by the image of a girl on his mind to say anything.

“You have a very pretty smile.”
