A Meal to Remember by @iwtvfanevents

Part 2: I am suddenly Megan Ellison, a wealthy lesbian, my father is a billionaire who has allowed me to start my own production company to make films I want to see. Money is no object. Here are the fics I would adapt and who I would hire (bully into) directing.

1. Reformation by verseau - first of all, I would pay $1 billion to acquire the rights outcompeting Amazon, Netflix and Apple and I would make Betsy adapt the screenplay. I maintain this must be cinematic because Ldpdl’s hole needs to be experienced in 70mm imax AND I would not allow any countries to censor like they did to Florence’s boobs. This would be like an Eternal Sunshine/Blue Valentine/Two for the Road type romantic dramedy that jumps back and forth in time to show the couple’s struggles and progression, and the non-linear storytelling means it automatically becomes an Oscar frontrunner. I would try to hire Barry Jenkins first but he is occupied with The Lion King 2 at Disney so then I would go to Mia Hansen-Love to direct. Beyoncé does the soundtrack. I didn’t even have to ask her she just wanted to.

2. Part of Your World by weathermood - I will imprison Mr. Monsterfucker himself Guillermo Del Toro until he agrees to direct this film like I am Kathy Bates in Misery. He will read it and then be like okay I agree you don’t need to kidnap me I will make this movie. We are going full Avatar 2 level budget to make sure underwater scenes are believable cause I won’t tolerate bad Aquaman CGI. The budget balloons to $400m but that’s okay cause it makes $2.7b worldwide and there’s 2 sequels greenlit immediately cause the world wants to see Louis get pregnant.

3. A Potentiality for Corruption by vampdf - Guillermo is occupied with Part of Your World and its sequels now so I turn to Robert Eggers to help bring to life this gothic horror romance. It’s 3 hours long. Parts of it are in black and white and there’s aspect ratio changes that confuse and unsettle the audience. We debut at Cannes. We get a 47 minute standing ovation but also some walkouts and fainting in the crowd because some vanilla viewers couldn’t handle the ending, which is controversial but has everyone talking.

4. Cord of Communion by themasterletters- this has now become a #1 nyt best selling novel so we have a built in audience and they want it to be a tv show cause of its length and we can’t skip out on any important points. Every streamer wants it but I choose HBO cause of the prestige factor and I’m an Emmy whore. It becomes Sunday night essential viewing replacing Succession it’s like if The Idol was actually good. I hire many talented directors such as Raine Allen Miller (Rye Lane), Francis Lee (God’s Own Country), Gina Prince Bythewood (Beyond the Lights) and I make Rolin Jones be my showrunner. We sweep the Emmys. The episode where Lestat fires Louis becomes the new Red Wedding traumatizing millions.

5. Pieta by baberainbow - When iwtv the amc show ends, I hire Paul Verhoeven to direct a standalone sequel film based on this fic. It’s as insane as you could ever imagine. The Catholic Church is mad at us. It’s condemned by the Vatican and the anti-feminization police. They’re protesting outside our premiere like they did to Benedetta. It doesn’t matter cause it just makes the film an even bigger hit.

6. Hand to God by boltcutters - first I pay Ziska $1 billion to finish writing this. Then I go back in time to 1933 first to make Hollywood not adopt the Hays Code so we can have gay and interracial stuff in movies and then to 1946 so Howard Hawks can direct this Danlou version of The Big Sleep.

Chapter 24 of Roneo and Kimliet

Chapter 24

Amanda came up to Vance then whispered in his ear. All of the other students were backstage

"Remember, I want everything to go as planned in order for the 'protection' to remain for your little Drama club!" she said quietly. "And no mistakes!"

Vance nodded his head in fear. He then regained a confident look in order to mask that fear.

"Now...Drama class, come on out!" he commanded.

All of the students, including Kim and Ron, came onto the stage.

"Now, you spoiled little brats! We are going to be here for the next hour and a half." Vance shouted through the megaphone. "The sooner we can get everything perfect, the sooner we can all leave!"

Kim sneered at the trio, and Amanda, that was going to make the next week for her, Ron, Zita and all the others a living hell...or so she thought.

Vance then explained to his fellow classmates about how the practice of Romeo and Juliet was going to work.

"We are going to do the prologue and Act I for this evening's practice. However, we will add a subsequent act for the practice on the 16th, and going from there to the end where the Montagues and Capulets reconcile with each other. You will start out with the assistance of your scripts."

Cara then continued where her partner left off, once again using the megaphone.

"Next week, we are NOT going to use those scripts because you are going to memorize every single one of your lines that are highlighted in yellow! And by the time the performance ends in two weeks..."

Barkin then got off his cell phone.

"Okay, students, that was the MUSD Maintenence Department. Apparently, the date of the play is also the same day they are going to fumigate the stage." he explained to the students, "Looks like we're going to have to take it to the main auditorium starting next week! The District is going to decide to give an extra two weeks."

Kim gulped hard. The main auditorium seated 3,000 people and it was primarily used for Annual Fundraisers, awards ceremonies, and lectures by Barkin. It was not only the same site where Ron managed to win the talent show from last year over Bonnie, but it was also the same place where the infamous PSA skit of the dangers of drinking and driving that the Stoppable parents performed when Ron was in the sixth grade. In that skit, John's pants fell down in front of the crowd. Kim and Ron covered each other's eyes amidst the sea of laughter. Ron was made the laughingstock for the entire school year, even resorting to wearing a paper bag on his head with holes cut out for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Had it not been for Kim, he would've ended up like Drakken.

Cara then continued, noting the date change.

"Very well..." she muttered, "...four weeks. So in that case, for tonight, we will do the first three scenes."

Kim sighed with relief, thanking that delay from having to get to Scene V of the first act.

"I expect to hear thunderous applause and standing ovations from the crowd! If I ever see as much as a single boo or hiss, expect a solid F from Mr. Barkin's pen and it will be all your fault! So I expect perfection from every single one of you! And...Lights, Camera, and ACTION!"

And so, the chorus began with the prologue, led by Hope, TJ and Gus.

"In the beautiful city of Verona, where our story takes place, a long-standing hatred between two families erupts into new violence, and citizens stain their hands with the blood of their fellow citizens. Two unlucky children of these enemy families become lovers and commit suicide. Their unfortunate deaths put an end to their parents' fe..."

However, Cara, once again, interrupted.

"Wait! Cut...cut...CUT!"

"What is it now?" Barkin groaned. He had no time for shenanigans caused by the students, especially those whose last name was Stoppable.

"I still want to do this in Shakespeare's Olde English! The way it was intended to be!" Cara complained.

"You cannot over-ride the MUSD's decision, Van! Whatever Mrs. Rockwaller says goes!" Barkin proclaimed, "Now continue or else you want a date with her paddle!"

"Fine...thou art very much becoming a teen in the behind, Mr. Barkin..." Cara muttered an Olde English phase under her breath.

Cara then yelled to those that are on the stage, primarily on the trio of Hope, TJ and Gus.

"Now...take it from the top...and action!"

The chrous then repeated their lines, this time without interruption.

"In the beautiful city of Verona, where our story takes place, a long-standing hatred between two families erupts into new violence, and citizens stain their hands with the blood of their fellow citizens. Two unlucky children of these enemy families become lovers and commit suicide. Their unfortunate deaths put an end to their parents' feud. For the next two hours, we will watch the story of their doomed love and their parents' anger, which nothing but the children's deaths could stop. If you listen to us patiently, we'll make up for everything we've left out in this prologue onstage."

Kim thought to herself, clenching her script.

I would rather listen to one of Drakken's boring villainous monologues while being chained to a shark pit rather than subjecting myself to two hours of pure stage torture. But...here goes nothing.

Then she realized that Vince and Jamarcus were going to play Gregory and Sampson respectively to being the very first scene of Act I. So she was spared...for now.

Jamarcus explained, while holding his script as a shielf "Gregory, I swear, we can't let them humiliate us. We won't take their garbage."

Vince teased, "No, because then we'd be garbagemen."

Jamarcus added, "What I mean is, if they make us angry we'll pull out our swords."

"Maybe you should focus on pulling yourself out of trouble, Sampson." Vince replied. They skipped over the obvious part about remarks concerning the Montague women due to the MUSD cuts.

"Pull out your tool now. These guys are from the house of Montague!"

Larry Beae, who voiced, Abraham, then appeared on stage. The trio then continued Scene 1 without much incident, acting out their characters.

Then, Benvolio, played by Felix, came onto the stage. Using his high-tech wheelchair, he had two cables that held a styrofoam sword and shield spraypainted gray.

"Break it up, you fools. Put your swords away. You don't know what you're doing!" he exclaimed.

The scene continued where the "fight" was about to begin with Hope and Gus playing as the citizens.

Then, Capulet and Lady Capulet, played by Rob Reeger and Zita respectively, came onto the stage for their first appearance.

"What's this noise?" Rob exclaimed, "Give me my long sword! Come on!"

"A crutch, you need a crutch! Why are you asking for a sword?" Zita replied.

Rob said, "I want my sword. Old Montague is here and he's waving his sword around just to make me mad!"

Montague and Lady Montague, played by Brick and Liz respectively, came on the stage.

However, Brick was reading the script upside down!

"Uhh..."

The other redhead on the cheer squad sighed and turned his script right-side up.

"Capulet, you villain!" Brick yelled, "Don't stop me! Let me go!"

Liz put her hand in front of Brick's muscular body.

"You're not taking one step toward an enemy!" she yelled.

Cara liked that delivery with a slight smile, She's a natural!

The students continued to deliver their lines for the next five minutes when it came to Ron's first appearance on the stage since the Cowardly Lion incident. Ron, however, was a bit confused. His mind was wandering off to, not surprisingly, Bueno Nacho. Rufus was trying to tug on his shirt for attention.

"Ron?" Kim insisted.

"Earth to Ron!" Kim raised her voice an octave higher while snapping her fingers in front of his face.

"Wha...aww man, KP, I daydreamed that Bueno Nacho had an all-you-can-build Naco buffet." Ron complained.

"Ron, you're up!" Kim insisted, "Mr. Romeo...remember?"

Ron held up his script and said. "Ohhhhh..."

He then entered the stage as Felix was the only one on there when everyone has said their lines.

Barkin though to himself, Oh great...the walking disaster area known as Stoppable appears. Let's see how he screws up this time...

"Good morning, cousin!" Felix explained.

Ron looked through his script, looking at scene 1.

"Ahh...here I am! Is it that early in the day?"

Kim groaned. Ron, please read your highlighted lines...

"It's only just now nine am!" Felix said.

Ron continued to read from his highlighted lines.

"Oh my, time goes by slowly when you're sad. Was that my father who left here in such a hurry?"

As the scene continued to play out between Ron and Felix, Kim noticed that Ron was gaining a bit more confidence. She did not know what it was but he and Felix were making the lines flow.

The redhead gulped even harder, knowing that her first lines were going to come in Scene 3...with Ashley A, no less, as the Nurse.

What is going on here? How is it that Ron is gaining confidence with Felix but I get stuck with the worst of the Ashleys?!

Ron got through Scene 2 with Troy taking on the role as Peter with Felix with almost no issues.

Kim, meanwhile, was sending a text to Monique.

Monique, we so need to do that girl-to-girl talk after tonight's practice.

"I'll go with you. Not because I think you'll show me anything better, but so I can see the woman I love." he said to both Troy and Felix before they exited the stage.

Ron held his script up high.

"I did pretty good on the stage for the first time in months!" the blonde sidekick exclaimed confidently, "And I didn't suffer anything."

As he did so, he was about to sit on a chair...and then heard somethin rip from behind.

A chorus of laughter emitted from almost everyone in the class except for Kim, Monique, Zita, Jessica, Felix and Tara.

Cara exclaimed from the director's chair in Olde English between the laughs.

"Ho, Stoppable, seemeth liketh thee suff'r'd a drop of sorrow in thy gaskins!"

Not surprisingly, he ripped a large tear in his pants, showing off a bit of his Flippies boxers.

"Oh brother..." Rufus squeaked.

"Aww man...why did that happen?" Ron exclaimed.

"I think you should convince your mom to stop buying laundry detergent from Smarty-Mart." Kim said, not laughing out of respect for her best friend.

He sighed, "Aisle 38, right next to the baby items."

Ron sat on the chair, trying to cover the pants hole with his hand.

Now, this was the moment of truth for Kim.

It was now Act 1, Scene 3. And Ashley A was grinning from ear to ear.

NOTICE: Esther Achebe would deeply appreciate if an “extremely improper” item was retrieved from the Fisher’s Hut. She suspects it’s the previous tenant’s. She knows that he knows what it is.

REVIEW: A Final Goodbye (2022) dir. T. WIlliams. Starring T.Williams. Distributor: Hellish Place Productions.   Tamyra Williams makes her Meridium Theatre debut in a poorly lit, badly-built stage on a slightly windy evening beach.  The score to her character's monologue is as thinly composed as the rest of the play's accoutrements; it's almost as if Ms Williams was so intent on being the star that outshone everything, she deliberately ensured everything around her would be of lesser quality than her acting.  Williams has been out of the spotlight for nearly thirty years, and it shows in her staggered script, awkward stage-blocking and flimsy segue ways.  Did she succeed in capturing her audience, as she once did on the big screen?  HELL YES I've been SO BORED for DECADES and this is the first cultural foray on this godforsaken island I've had the relief of experiencing.  I cried, I was captivated, I leapt to my feet during the standing ovation.  Here's hoping Ms Williams will treat us once more.  We need more art, any art, even her!!

NOTICE: Something exciting washed up on the beach recently, or more specifically, someone. No, not another school of poisonous jellyfish, a person! When asked, he said it is now the year 2022 outside of the island! How time flies when you're trying not to die! Mik, our newcomer didn't have much in the way of news from the past two years. When asked he shrugged and said, "Uh... Chelsea won the World Cup? And the Queen is still alive..." Sounds like some uneventful times! Mik would also like to add a PSA: PLEASE stop threatening him with knives, spears etc.

Obelisk Eye never closes! This week our Obelisk Operatives (ObOps) have collected the following mysteries! So pull out your magnifying glass, write in the sand, and let's do some sleuthing.

One ObOp spied Nick Alphonsus talking to Esther Achebe!  Presumably to engage in a woke discussion on foggy cowardice vs systemic fears, benefitting from privileged rich white old 'First' men.  Our ObOps heard mention of something called a '#FreeEsther' movement?  What does the number-symbol mean and why was Nick calling it a 'hashtag'? Is this about non-chemical drugs?  Pass the hashish pipe, Nick GOSH!

LAGOON-MULTIVERSES ALERT!!  Adelina - a seasoned lagoon user - has reported traveling to yet another undiscovered Meridium land.  Intrepid Adelina has seen a world called 'Octopus Game', where parallel dopplegangers of her friends are competing for freedom through terrifying and gruesome trials.  She described in detail how Sandra Barrow came to a grizzly end.  When we asked Adelina who exactly she considers 'a friend', she laughed and then accused us of gaslighting her before she ran off the edge of a cliff.  She's fine, but we're still trying to get details on the identities of Lina's 'friends'. If anyone knows, please come forward!

The Obelisk's lidless eye shone down on Alex Woo and Kaz Raval struck in a finger-trap of their own making: incorrigible droll drags on anything and everything on Meridium, including each other.  Inconclusive whether this exercise was fun or aggravating, as they each got incredibly worked up and then pretended they didn't care at all.  It got to the point where the Obelisk's lidless eye started to suspect they were trolling deliberately and now the eye is very sulky and annoyed at them.  Jerks!

An ObOp saw Amelia!  Oh wait, never mind. That was just the jungle hag.

Actually spotted: new islander Mik attempting to make friends with all the wrong people. Will his patented charm prevail, or will he continue to be greeting by glares and sharp, pointy weapons? Either way, we can’t wait to find out!

FARMER'S MONTHLY EXCERPT:  Today we are comparing the Hardy-Farm avocado to the Petit Farm avocado.  The criteria is plumpness, colour, texture, taste of flesh, crunch of bones, and how annoying the farmer is.  

- The Hardy Avocado comes with nonsense folksy rhyme to the tune of some obscure Schoolhouse Rock ditty, followed by a lecture about recycling the seed and peel.  It's exhausting but well worth it once you open the fruit and find its flesh yellow and creamy with that special hint of buttery sweetness that makes it the perfect avocado!  These avocados are shapely and round and one assumes the farmer cultivated them in his likeness.  

- The Saelices Avocado was actually a papaya.  Upon questioning, the farmer only replied: "Ah but the mysteries of God, qué miraculous! Hu-hu-hu."

Progressing through the highs of a new romance to the subsequent disintegration of a marriage, Tamyra walks us through with a visceral mix of her character’s love, grief, and regret. “Gripping. First time, long time (‘long time’ as you’ve clearly been holding me hostage on the island for years). Anywhoo, I’m having trouble with a woman. To protect her identify, let’s call her ‘Jenn’. Every top team's Olympic program stayed in line with whatever was successful for them this quad. G/P, S/K, H/D went lyrical and C/B repackaged the snake and traveller as alien and astronaut. In the US Hallelujah won the PSA award for best FD last year so that's an opinion that matters more to me than Twitter.

I agree, and I think most of us agree that the only team who got the assignment and went for an OLYMPIC feeling FD are Smart/Diaz who just got this ending that should get people give them a standing ovation. The rest stayed with what worked for them in the past which makes sense since you usually go safe and not experiment on an Olympic season. I get that we all have mostly different opinions on programs and I get it

For me the top 4 FDs this season are S/D, H/B, H/D, and W/L. C/B has an interesting FD that I enjoy even if it doesn't excite me like the rest, same for S/B who had an FD enjoy. Everyone connects with different things and it's valid, but for the most part I don't have FDs that I think are horrible and make me want to turn them off aside from maybe team nepotism #2 and their poorly plagiarized version of Moulin Rouge. The rest I'm just more "meh" about.

He likes to keep you motivated when you’re learning something new.  It’s normal to hit a wall, but he likes to keep pushing you.  “Did you study your Italian today?”  Call him the Duolingo owl cause, he is on your ass to make sure you get your XP

But, he’s probably doing it too.  You guys have little competitions to see who can get the most points for the week.

Sugawara frequently likes to sit with you while you play piano.  He’ll lay his head on your shoulder because again he’s baby and just watch your fingers move over the keys

You have a play or musical at school? He’s front row, babbyyyyy.  Standing ovation and loud cheers the minute the show is over.  He WILL bring you flowers and probably candy.  He’ll take you for milkshakes afterwards, because he read that milk is supposed to be good for your voice

You didn’t even tell him that you were bad at expressing your emotions, he just figured it out himself.  But, Sugawara is the mom-friend and it tends to translate into his relationships.  So, he’ll sit down with you and just sort of?? Help talk you through your emotions?

Like, he’ll ask lots of questions.  Mainly asking which of the primary emotions you’re feeling about the situation and then going on from there.  Why are you feeling this way?  How can we handle this situation?

He studied elementary education, okay? Sugawara literally went to school and took classes on how to help people properly express their emotions.

Honestly, he’s a little hurt when he finds out that you have commitment issues.  He thinks he did something to make you not trust him, but if you don’t want to be in a serious relationship with him right off the bat? That’s okay.  He just wants you to be comfortable.

If you’re comfortable with it, he’ll try to help you figure out why you’re feeling this way and see if there’s a way to get through this together.

He’s a we kind of person.  It’s never you vs him.  It’s you and him, together vs the situation. 

TL;DR: sugawara koushi is baby and would genuinely be such a good life partner if you’re willing to have him.  He’s supportive and caring and would absolutely bake you cookies.

Holy shit. So I’ve just watched 13 Reasons Why, season 3.

I know I cry at pretty much everything but god fucking damn, this show hit. It hit in every way possible and it is absolutely their best season. They talked about such important issues in the real world such as ICE and abortion rights, and they carried the sexual assault storyline better than ever. I think, almost every plot line was done very, very well. I’m gonna discuss everything from the show, so spoiler alert if you haven’t watched it.

First and foremost, I’d like everyone to give a huge standing ovation for Devin Druid’s performance this season. I cannot even BEGIN to express the way each and every one of his scenes moved me. They obviously continued the story of his assault by Monty, and they did it damn well. This storyline also very well showed that a person can move on, heal, and better themselves from mistakes they make. Tyler changed, with the help of amazing friends and a support system. I loved it, truly. I’ve seen many comments about how this was the show’s way of making viewers feel bad for a school shooter, and honestly? I’m not going to look at it that way. Second chances are how the world runs, but I’ll get into that later.

Now speaking of Monty... LOOOOOOOOOOOLL

Alright so.. I kinda saw this coming? 💀💀

I mean, kinda. But not really. I feel like as much as people would call Monty’s plotline this season toxic, due to the internalised homophobia, I’m going to choose to look at this as something people genuinely go through.

As a male jock, in high school, it’s a HUGE joke to be gay. Unfortunately, slurs are always thrown around, and even if you aren’t homophobic, the energy that jocks give out about the LGBT+ community will surely make you into that. So honestly? The demonstration of how Monty felt throughout the season when it came to his sexuality was accurate.

Now this little bit is gonna be my soft side talking - don’t attack me for it. The scene in the last episode where Monty finally goes up to the guy from Hillcrest and isn’t a dick to him, I can’t describe how that made me feel. And when Monty’s dad later came to visit him in prison, and spit on his face because he figured out he was gay? That shit made me sad. If you’re gonna spit on his face, do it because of what he did to Tyler. Not because he’s gay. Fuck.

In conclusion, I think Monty had some potential. Some. I don’t think he deserved to die though, and he certainly did not deserve to be blamed for Bryce’s death just because he’s dead.

Jock culture is so toxic. It was strongly established this season with both this plotline and the assault one (gonna get to that later) and I hope the world watches this show and takes some action. I don’t give a fuck what you’ve done in your life, nobody deserves to not love, or be loved.

I really feel bad for Monty to have grown up in such a toxic environment, with a piece of shit homophobic dad and that jock culture. The scene where Winston says, “You can be whoever you want to be” and Monty says “No.. I can’t.” Yeah I’m sorry but that scene broke me.

PSA: Monty’s still a dick. This is just my lil gay self talking.

Also, Timothy Granaderos and Deaken Bluman are so sexy. Thank you for listening.

As much as I cried half the time, I’m so glad the writers brought up the misuse and abuse of ICE towards POCs in America. It broke my heart into so many pieces when viewers found out that his family had been deported and/or held in detention centres. It is so not fair. And to think that there’s countless families in our real world who are suffering through this shit. :(

I love Tony and Caleb so much. Imagine finding somebody who loves you THAT much. I’m glad that after showing a toxic gay “relationship” (Monty and Winston) they showed something as beautiful as this. Definitely one of the best parts of this season.

Speaking of relationships... wow.

I loved them. Like truly. First of all; the SEXIEST couple I’ve ever seen in any series. Also I think my emotional connection with them is cause they literally came back to each other...

...and they stayed together. Through everything that happened this season, they stuck together (for the most part, lol) and I loved that. The love triangle of Alex, Jessica, and Justin was weird though.

I also really, really loved Jessica’s journey on loving her body again. And treating herself right. It’s good that they brought up female masturbation in this season too, the stigma really needed to be broken. I’m so proud of her 🥺.

Okay and, wow. Justin’s reveal on being a survivor.. my god. One thing that’s really good about this show is, it highlights that men can also be sexually assaulted, or raped. And, that does not make you any less of a man. Society needs that reminder.

Also. I love Justin so much. So so much. But I’ll make a separate post for my man.

The brotherly relation between Justin, Clay, and Zach. My favourite thing to come out of this season. I’m so glad that the realest people in this show found a brother in one another.

The adventure of Justin settling into Clay’s family was a heartwarming thing to watch, as well.

This scene made me cry SO much. Clay coming back from hearing about what happened to Tony’s family, to tell his parents he loves them and making sure he’s thankful that he has them. I love this family so fucking much. It was a true wake up call for me too. I went and sat with my mum after watching this. Even if your relation with your parent(s) is rocky, please never take their place in your life for granted.

Alright. The best fucking scene from this ENTIRE show. All 3 seasons. This scene was: it.

I cried start to finish on this one. Viewers also find out that Justin is a survivor, and I.. wow. Fuck. I literally have no words for everything to do with this.

This scene is so important for everyone to watch. It’s important for survivors to watch this to know that they’re not alone. You are never alone. And to those who haven’t been a victim of assault, please stand by those who have. Please support them, fight for them. The justice system is cruel to survivors, and unity within society is what can get us through another day. It can make things better.

Alright, now it’s time for the most controversial topic of 13 Reasons Why; Bryce Walker.

I’ve seen a lot of people say that the show is shitty for trying to sympathise and make viewers feel bad for Bryce - and I’d like to agree to disagree. Bryce is awful, the fact that he raped so many girls and did such horrible things to so many different people will neither be forgotten, nor forgiven. But I’m gonna choose to look at his plotline in the most positive ways possible.

You cannot forgive a rapist, or an abuser. They aren’t mistakes, they’re somebody’s actions that were intentionally done. But you can choose to let the person learn from it. You can choose to let the person grow, do better. I believe that everyone, no matter who, deserves a second chance. Not a single person in this world is perfect and if people weren’t given second chances, this society would be lifeless. I will choose to believe that Bryce was doing better. I saw a post that said something along the lines of, “It took the loss of his girlfriend, friends, and social status for him to realise that what he did was fucked up.” And I agree. Of course it took that for him to realise. Nobody realises what they’ve truly done until they, themselves, face the consequences for it.

The writers truly did an amazing job on portraying Bryce’s storyline. As problematic as it is, it’s reality, and as Thanos once said, “Reality is often disappointing.” Like, do you know how good you have to be at your job to make viewers FEEL BAD for a rapist? We all knew how horrible Bryce is, yet some of the scenes with him and his mum brought me to tears. I’d also like to give a whole round of applause to Justin Prentice because, wow. That man is damn talented. He did an amazing job this season. Don’t ever forget to separate the actor from their character!

One of the things that really stuck with me from this season is when Ms Baker was brought in for questioning. She said, “Did you know that this department has put more investigative efforts into solving the murder of a convicted rapist, than it ever did for any of his former victims?” And WOW. Did she lie? Did she really fucking lie?? No she didn’t.

Going back to what I said earlier, the justice system is cruel to victims. The way they investigated Bryce’s death vs how they treated Hannah’s case is how things are in real life. It’s really upsetting.

Also, the way they portrayed feminism/the SO club was DISGUSTING. I wish they had done better with that, rather than to carry on the annoying and disrespectful feminist stereotype. Protesting at Bryce’s funeral was so disrespectful.

By the way, wasn’t that Audrey from Scream? LOL

The last topic I wanted to discuss is Ani, but she annoyed me so much that I refuse to put in effort to talk about her. She’s absolutely disgusting for having sex with her friend’s rapist, as well as sticking her nose in business that had nothing to do with her. As Justin once said, “Fuck off, Ani.”

In conclusion,

This show is, and always will remain controversial and problematic. And a lot of people will choose to view it in the most skeptical way possible, rather than to see the points it makes. I definitely agree that this show hasn’t always been the best at portraying certain things - especially in season 1 - but they’re doing better now. This is high school culture (not the part where students are investigating a murder instead of doing homework). This is how the justice system treats rapists vs their victims. These are the struggles of survivors.

I recently hit over 1,000 followers on this account and I’m… honestly blown away. Like, that’s fucking insane. I seriously can’t thank y’all enough, but I’M GONNA DO MY BEST. (long post below the cut but tl;dr i’m a big sappy grateful baby and i love all of you xoxo)

I made this account around mid-August of this year, because I’d rapidly fallen down the Buzzfeed Unsolved hole, and wanted to become a part of the fandom. Joining fandoms/online communities in general is… pretty hard for me, for a lot of reasons. I’ve had to really wiggle in and out of fandoms to find what I was most comfortable with, and where I fit in the most. When I joined this fandom, I felt like I was nobody. I wasn’t really sure where to start or who to talk to, let alone how to talk to them. I didn’t know how to gain a following if ever it was possible, I didn’t know how to make friends, I was just sort of… there. But within the first month or so, I became more comfortable with my spot in the fandom and really melded myself into the community by actually communicating with others and creating content.

I’ve found that I ACTUALLY FIT IN HERE!!! WOW THAT’S SOMETHING BECAUSE I LITERALLY NEVER FIT IN ANYWHERE. But everyone here is so kind and warm and so fucking funny, like, it’s impossible for me to scroll through my dash without cracking a smile or bursting out laughing. This fandom is just so great and it’s all around such a chill community of people and?? i’m love??? wow

What Meryl Streep Got Wrong In Her Anti-Trump Speech

Meryl Streep is arguably the greatest actress alive. Her career has spanned decades, giving one transformative performance after the other, winning three Oscars and earning nineteen Academy Award nominations in the process. She’s truly a gifted woman.

Unfortunately, like most of Hollywood, she is totally clueless.

When receiving the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes, she (like many others that night) took the opportunity to vent about the election.

She kicked off her speech by defending the “most vilified people in society right now”: Hollywood, foreigners, and the press (Note: The Golden Globes are run by the Hollywood Foreign Press organization). She gave a gracious nod to fellow actors and their origins, Viola Davis from South Carolina, Natalie Portman from Jerusalem, Sarah Jessica Parker from Ohio, Ryan Gosling from Canada, etc. She quipped that if we banned “all foreigners”, apparently including such Americans as Viola Davis and Sarah Jessica Parker, we’d have nothing to watch but “football and mixed martial arts”. That was one point she made using incoherent logic.

Streep praised all the performances this year that showed compassion, but there was one in particular that “stunned” her (cough cough, Donald Trump). It was a performance that “wasn’t good, but was effective and did its job” at making “his intended audience laugh and show their teeth”. She used Trump’s mocking of a disabled reporter to prove how the most respected office in the land had been diminished.

She continued her lecture by saying “Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence invites violence” as if disrespect and violence never occurred under the Obama administration and were only sparked once Trump started running for president.

Then at her most laughable bit, she went on to glorify our “principled press” to hold President Trump to account. Meanwhile, this “principled press” is the exact press that has done nothing but defend President Obama for the past eight years and was caught colluding with the Clinton campaign during this election cycle. Before concluding her speech, she called on the Hollywood Foreign Press and her peers to join her and support a “committee to protect journalists”. Something tells me this committee will protect everyone in the press… except for Fox News.

Her speech was welcomed by cheers, tears, and a standing ovation. It was like a therapy session for liberal Hollywood. Let’s face it, it wasn’t just Hillary Clinton that lost the election. Hollywood did too. They spent millions of dollars and countless hours trying to prevent a Trump presidency, from comedians mercilessly mocking him on late-night talk shows, all the fundraisers they hosted for Clinton in Los Angeles, music stars performing on the campaign trail on behalf of Clinton, to the the dozens of PSAs featuring A-listers literally begging voters to stop Trump. All of their efforts mounted to nothing. Actually, it backfired!

What Hollywood still doesn’t realize that every joke, every PSA, every #ImWithHer endorsement they gave only fueled Middle America’s animosity towards them. Streep stated that “when the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose". She’s right, but what she neglects to mention is that Hollywood did its fair share of bullying this election cycle as well. Average Americans felt demonized for supporting Trump or agreeing with what he had to say. Those “secret Trump supporters” that the Trump campaign kept referring to for months leading up to the election actually existed! Hollywood, along with the media and the Obama administration, simply made his supporters ashamed. And it’s that resentment liberals have towards conservatives and moderates that will prevent Democrats from winning elections in the future.

Which brings me back to what I thought was Streep’s most offensive part of her speech. When referring to how effective Trump’s “performance” was, she said it made “his intended audience laugh and showed their teeth”. It’s quite obvious that her “intended audience” remark eluded to the notion that not only were Trump supporters racists and bigots but Trump intentionally wanted their support, but when she said “and showed their teeth”, that’s what really struck a nerve. Here, she’s essentially calling Trump supporters wolves (or any predatory animal of your choosing). The 63 million people that voted for Trump aren’t wolves. They’re people, and the vast majority of them are good people. These are the same people that felt hope and change in 2008 as working class Americans and felt let down eight years later. These are the same people that helped Trump win over 2,600 counties out of roughly 3,100 (leaving Hillary Clinton with less than 500 counties). These are the same people that buy movie tickets to see Meryl Streep on the big screen and tune into the Golden Globes to watch her win awards.

Perhaps Hollywood will never learn why their candidate couldn’t beat Donald Trump. On the contrary, I’m willing to bet by 2020 Meryl Streep will star in a Hillary Clinton biopic that portrays her as a flawless protagonist (which average Americans know Clinton is anything but flawless) and she’ll win the Oscar for it. But in her speech, she called for everyone to have empathy towards people that are different from yourself. Well, she should try having empathy towards Trump supporters.

Winnie Harlow Couldn't Stop the Tears After Learning She'd Been Cast by Victoria's Secret

Get on your feet and give a standing ovation for Winnie Harlow! The 27-year-old model recently revealed to Vogue that she'll be walking in the 2018 Victoria's Secret show, and we're thrilled.

Winnie, a former America's Next Top Model contestant, acclaimed model, and activist, has done so much already, but she revealed that this opportunity is the "pinnacle" of her career. She couldn't help but get emotional over the announcement, as shown by a touching video she shared to her Instagram page. After hearing the news, Winnie dropped to the floor crying, while everyone around cheered and congratulated her. "This is such a monumental moment in my life, I just want to celebrate each day leading up to it," she said. Winnie will be joining a group of models that has previously included a few of her pals, such as Bella Hadid and Joan Smalls.

Matthew bows out of Professional Squash as Egyptians dominate Semi-Finals Day in Dubai

England’s Nick Matthew has played the final match of his glittering 20-year-career after he lost out to World No.2 Ali Farag on a day that saw an Egyptian quartet claim victories to reach the title deciders at the ATCO PSA Dubai World Series Finals taking place inside Emirates Golf Club.

37-year-old Matthew was set to retire after defeat to Germany’s Raphael Kandra at last month’s Allam British Open meant he failed to qualify for the World Series Finals, but a hamstring injury sustained by World No.3 Marwan ElShorbagy saw the Yorkshireman get a late call-up.

Three wins out of three saw Matthew top Group A but his tournament - and career - came to an end at the hands of Farag earlier today as he fell to a 11-5, 11-7 defeat. Matthew, the most successful male English squash player of all time, bows out with 35 PSA World Tour titles – including three PSA World Championship crowns – to his name, while he also claimed a trio of Commonwealth Games gold medals.

“I dared to dream for a second that I could go all the way but Ali was slightly too good tonight. Even a week ago, if you’d have offered me a semi-final place here I wouldn’t have believed it," said Matthew, who will now take on a coaching and ambassadorial role at England Squash.

“A few people this week have been trying to talk me out of retirement but that’s not happening. I’m 100 per cent going to stay in squash, I’m going to have a rest this summer, I’ve got some camps in the US and I’ll have a lot of family time and regroup.

“I’ve got a great role which I’m looking forward to doing with England Squash and I’ll be growing my academy around the world. I’m still going to play, I’m not going to totally stop, I’m too competitive.”

Farag said:

“It’s extremely emotional, I knew that if I was close to winning that they were going to be the last few points of Nick’s career.

“I didn’t want to talk about it at all because I think the more I talked about it the more it would have gotten into my head. Only such a legend would get a standing ovation for around 10 minutes."

Farag will play World No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy in the final after the defending champion came through a cracker of a semi-final encounter with Germany’s Simon Rösner in a repeat of their meeting at the same stage of last year’s event.

Rösner squandered match ball on that occasion against eventual winner ElShorbagy and, while he wasn’t able to quite get in a winning position again, he made life difficult for the reigning World Champion, but ultimately succumbed to a 12-10, 10-12, 11-3 defeat which sends ElShorbagy through to an 11th final of the season.

"Every time it gets tough in any match I always tell myself that I live for these kind of moments, these are the moments I was born for,” said ElShorbagy.

“Ali’s fresh, he’s playing well and we haven’t played since last November. It’s great to have the last match of the season between the World No.1 and No.2, definitely.”

The top two players in the women’s game will go head-to-head in the final as Nour El Sherbini and Raneem El Welily claimed wins over France’s Camille Serme and World No.3 Nour El Tayeb.

El Sherbini, a losing finalist at last year’s tournament, picked up where she left off after topping Group B with a 100 per cent record as she overcame Serme by an 11-7, 9-11, 11-8 margin to ensure that she will take on El Welily in a sixth major final this season.

“It’s always a tough match playing Camille,” said El Sherbini.

“It was really hard from the first point and I have no idea what I would have done if it was longer than this [best of three] because I was tired.

“I’m really hungry to win it, I never won it before and this is my third year in a row coming here. It’s the second final so hopefully this time it’s going to be my title.”

El Welily, meanwhile, came through a quick-fire victory over El Tayeb to reach the final of this tournament for the first time since 2016.

“Nour is a really tough opponent,” said El Welily.

“This season has been great for her and we’ve had great battles. But it’s the end of the season, it’s the last tournament and the last push. We’ve all had tough pool matches and I’m happy with the way I pushed myself, even if at the end I let go and gave her a slight opportunity which she almost took."
