Courage 10/02
Courage.
“Strength in the face of pain or grief.”
Kara built her courage. Welded it from the molten rubble of Krypton. Forged in the icy depths of the Phantom Zone. Fabricated it with the bare thread of humanity she hid behind.
Courage was difficult. Tiring. Worthless without hope to compel it. Kara’s hope had long run out. It fizzled out the moment Lena stepped through that portal leaving her encased in the poisonous remains of her home world.
After the melancholy of Lena’s betrayal came the anger. Over the passing months, the anger mellowed into disappointment and resentment. At Lena, her friends, her family, and herself most of all.
There was no reason to truly uphold the facade anymore. Lena was the last person close to her who didn’t know. Everyone else was just passing faces in the night, none so important as to truly hide herself from.
She moved through the days automatically. Wake up, dress, go to work at CatCo, be Supergirl, return home, sleep, and repeat. Game nights and trips to Al’s stopped. Sending silly texts with numerous emojis and gifs of cute animals trickled to nothing.
“Kara, you need to move on. I get that you’re disappointed about Lena, I do. But she showed her true colors. She’s a Luther through and through-“
“Get out,” the blonde said. Her voice was flat, emotionless.
Shocked at the swift dismissal, Alex paused her rant, “What?”
Kara’s tone left no room for argument, “I’m sick of everyone placating me with false truths. Yes, she hurt me, but she’s not evil. She’s hurting, and I’m that one that caused it. So don’t sit here and lecture me about my feelings as if you understand anything about this.”
“You know what? Fine. Don’t come crying to me the next time she breaks your heart.” With that parting remark, Alex turns on her heel, exiting the apartment.
She’ll never understand. I was too much of a coward, and I hurt the person I love the most. So much for the Paragon of Hope.
———————————
Another day, another failed attempt to pick up the shattered pieces of her life.
Non Nocere was a failure. She was a fool to believe she could neutralize humanity’s inclination to anger, hurt, and violence. Lex, as always, was a madman intent to make the world suppliant to him or watch it burn.
Lena had had enough. There was no point running from the truth. She had been rash; too quick to anger and too slow to forgiveness.
At first, it was the spitting anger. Lena thought there was no way in hell she could ever forgive Supergirl for lying to her. After months of isolation and intense introspection, the embarrassment of her actions kept her from reaching out to Kara.
Taking another sip from tumbler in her hand, Lena resumed her work with the soldering iron. All she had now was whisky and her tech. It wasn’t much, but she could survive with it if she had to.
One of the biggest downsides to Earth Prime was having to reinvent copious amounts of projects she had completed on Earth-38. The scientist found herself lost in the long process of reengineering the gadgets.
Unfortunately, it seems she may have slipped a bit too far into her mind. It takes a moment too long for her brain to register the burning pain ripping across her hand as the conical tip slices through the flesh of her palm.
“FUCK,” Lena exclaims, dropping the tool onto the table.
She stumbles out of her chair gripping her wrist in shock, staring wide eyed at the blood welling rapidly from her hand. The pain and alcohol release a shockwave of pint up frustration and fear. Tears begin to flow her eyes from what feels like an endless chasm of misery.
Her knees buckle, sending her down to the cold tile of her private home office. She makes no attempt to stem the bleeding, no attempt to rise from the ground. She just sits there, watching as the pain and turmoil of the last year becomes physical manifest.
———————————————
Supergirl is completing her final round of patrol for the day when she hears it.
“FUCK!”
Kara halts her flight, tuning her hearing completely to Lena. She hears a crash, a thump, and the beginning of broken sobs. In the next second, she’s immediately soaring through the sky towards the penthouse.
At the balcony, she pauses momentarily. It’s been months since she was last here. Lena has made it more than clear that Kara isn’t welcome, but the need to make sure the brunette is okay dwarfs the concerns for the long-term consequences of her actions. Kara grabs the handle, popping the door from its lock and sliding it open.
Lena is going to be so pissed at me. I’ll have to come back to fix this later.
The brunettes sobs are even louder now. It makes her Kryptonian heart race at the thought that something terrible has happened. Moving through the austere home, she audibly locates Lena in her lab. Once again, the closed door is gently forced open.
The first thing her eyes focus on is the red painting the white table, then her eyes move to the crumpled form just feet away. The hero speeds over, crouching low to examine her ex-friend.
“Lena?! What wrong?” She asks quickly, hands hovering above the shaking form.
Watery emerald eyes, focusing on Kara’s form as the emotional woman chokes on a sob.
“K-Kara? What are you doing here?” She asked confusedly, shielding one had close to her midsection.
“I heard you cuss, and a crash. I thought something terrible had happened. Where is that blood coming from?” She questions, worried Lena is hiding a wound in her abdomen.
Wiping her tears with a shaky hand, Lena protests the attention, “What do you care? Just me alone.”
Kara’s not taken aback. It’s been nearly a year of this bitter back and forth between them. But this time, she’s not going to run at the first round of dismissal.
“No. You’re hurt. I can’t leave until I know you’re okay.”
A wet laugh escapes Lena’s throat. “That’s rich coming from you. You’ve left even other time, why’s this one different?”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Every time I tried to reconcile you’ve shut me down and turned me away—“
The alcohol and blood loss must have been getting to her, because under no other circumstance could Lena imagine having the courage to be truthful after all this time.
“Because you hurt me! I let you have the power to hurt me. You never felt bad about it, just moved on with life as usual until I betrayed you. And once the anger turned to doubt I was too cowardly to apologize…”
She’s sorry? Oh Rao, she doesn’t hate me! I can fix this, fix us. I can make us right again!
“It’s okay…I shouldn’t have lied, and I should never have just moved on as if nothing had happened. It’s my biggest regret, Lena. Let me help you, and then we can…we can fix us,” the blonde clasps her hands her counterparts gently pulling her arms away from her stomach.
Lena hisses through her teeth trying to shield her hand from any further pain. Now that Kara can clearly see the wound, she internally lets out a sigh of relief that it’s just her hand, and not anything internal. Sucking on a breath, she blows a stream of cool air onto the cut, covering the hand in a thin layer of frost.
“That should help for a moment. I’ll get some bandages okay?”
She doesn’t wait for a respond before using her X-Ray vision to locate the first aid kit in the closet by the wall. Within minutes, Lena’s hand is cleaned, medicated and bandaged.
Lena watches silently. The fight has drained out of her and the overwhelming loss of Kara is soothed slightly as the hero tenderly cares for her.
“There, all better.” Kara announces quietly, giving Lena a shaky smile.
A single tear slips from a jade eye, “I’m so tired. So sick of feeling broken,” she croaks.
A tanned thumb wipes it away before softly rubbing a pale cheek. “So am I, but I never felt broken with you, Lena. Can we just, can we go back to what we had?”
Jade eyes hide behind pale lids. “I don’t want what we had.” She whispers.
“What, what do you want?” The blonde asks shakily.
Turning her head away, Lena confesses, “I’m scared.”
“Of me?” she asks, thinly veiled horror in her voice.
Shaking her head, “Of what I want.”
“What do you want, Lena?”
“I want you.”
Courage was difficult. Tiring. Worthless without hope to compel it. But now? Kara’s hope was sparked anew. It fizzled to life as Kara leaned forward pressing a lasting kiss to the apple of Lena’s cheek.
“I want you too, always.”

Umm so I don't really understand the post crisis reality so maybe I'm gonna need some help.
So there's ppl, most of ppl, whose life really changed, like Kenny, and they will never know it but we do, and I've read and thought things like we actually don't know the characters now bc their storyline changed and I kinda agree buuut I'm not really sure about it, I mean, it's a fact for the ones who don't know about the crisis, but what about the ppl who remembers both realities like Alex and Lena? How can they live with both realities in their heads? How does that work? We are certainly not seeing a diffent character, maybe with different knowledge and experiences now but they still have their own development bc they did live the things before crisis, they do remember the things they went through before it 🤔...
Also, when did Kara (and the heroes who remade the universe) got to remember the life of the new reality? Bc I remember that Kara came back and she didn't know what was different and kept surprising herself as she was founding out. The same with Sarah and Barry (like when he couldn't find his parents tombs bc he didn't know anything about the new reality), etc...
So do the paragons actually remember the things that changed or they only remember their old reality? In that case, does Kara actually knows Kenny didn't die and they actually dated??
#I have to say I did like Crisis On Infinity Earths but I definitely didn't like how they managed the post reality#And we don't even need to talk about Lex bc wtf was that?#In general I liked it bc we got many crossovers and cameos#But what is going ooon?#For me Kara and the rest of the paragons can't remember their life in earth prime#That been said for Kara doesn't know she lived all those things with Kenny#Anyway hope you can share your theories or thoughts or your facts#Thank you#Supergirl#Supercorp

How are you feeling with that last episode :)?
Hi hi hi!!!! Oh gosh! It was so wonderful. Honestly I think it’s going in my top three episodes of all time. I always love when Hen and Karen get the spotlight, but to have an episode that was so explicitly THEM, that was so KAREN!?!?! Unparalleled.
What a joy to get to see so much of their story in real time, and not just the good stuff, the bad stuff, the broken stuff, so we can really—finally—understand just how far they’ve come, the depth and breadth of their love for each other and Denny. I was in tears multiple times. It’s just so special and meant so much to me. Other people have talked much more eloquently about how important it is to see vibrant, sexy, human queer characters and love stories on mainstream, prime time tv, but I was also just so so so moved to be remind how beautiful that is. I’m so thankful that even thought we still have so far to go, there are young people who will maybe see this episode, or episodes like it, and feel seen. I sure would have.
And KAREN!?! Karen my beloved who now has been given maybe my favorite character arc on the show to date. To see her go from that cold, brisk woman at the bar, someone with so much drive but what seems to be a lack of connection in her life, to the paragon of warmth and emotion (WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF FEROCIOUS DRIVE) we know her as today, to see the way love has cracked her open and turned the earth of her heart so that now the garden of her hopes and dreams runs so rampant and lush and wild??? The way we have seen so often how she uses the beautiful things that grow there to nourish those around her? I’m just 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.
The way both of them chose each other and the life they were building over the bigger dream. I honestly was expecting to have a little trouble with that (because I figured we’d end up with Hen back at the 118 eventually), I thought I’d be disappointed to see Hen give up on what I saw has her chance for greatness. But the thing is, greatness looks different for everyone, and I just found this story to be such a beautiful example of the choices we make, and the lives we build, and how maybe our future doesn’t look the way we thought it would, but that doesn’t make it any less precious and we CAN CHOOSE the things that give us joy even when they aren’t the things we thought they might (or even should) be. ALSO ALSO to be reminded that you can make compromises for your love and family and still have exciting, important, fulfilling careers, that no one gets to tell you what that looks like but you.
And OH the Hen/Chim of it all. I keep thinking I cannot love them any more, that I cannot be more deeply moved by their friendship and they keep proving me otherwise. Really just to see how the entire 118 rally behind them, Athena too, they didn’t need big involved scenes to show just how much they love each other, how hard they fight for each other. Whew, my emotions!
I’m so thankful for the happy ending. I didn’t reeeeeally think they’d kill Karen off, but I wasn’t entirely sure either. Lol. So so glad this show proves yet again how much it values hope.
Wow. This got so long. Clearly I have a lot of feels. 😂😂😂 Thanks for asking. What did you think???

So the thing about idw transformers and why Windblade matters so much actually has everything to do with Optimus.
Typically Optimus is a paragon. He's a good guy who does good things and inspires others to do the same. In idw... not so much. He annexes Earth. He executes Galvatron after a surrender. He abuses the faith of the colonists, encourages them to see him as a god and follow him even though he doesn't believe that Primes are gods. He abuses their faith so he will have more power.
At best, Optimus Prime is complicated. He does bad things for good reasons. How the bad and the good weigh up against each other... again. At best he's complicated.
So what does this have to do with Windblade?
The idw transformers universe is a dark place. Very, very dark. And Optimus - typically a light in the dark, a beacon of hope - is not a paragon. Not anymore. And there is no darkness quite like that of a universe that has broken a paragon.
And then Windblade shows up. She tries to do the right thing, tries to make things better. Sometimes she has to compromise, she does things that are a little more morally gray.
In the end though?
Windblade is the paragon that is so desperately needed in Optimus Prime's absence as a paragon. She does good things for good reasons and inspires others to be better.
I love Windblade because she's a fantastic character, and because she makes the idw universe a lot less grimdark.
#transformers idw#windblade#idw transformers#transformers#tf#I have a lot of thoughts about all of this

Hope
Can be read on AO3
Lena blinked and immediately knew something was wrong. Her surroundings were not what they had been just a moment earlier, that she felt certain of. She had been-- It was--
Lena’s head spun as she sat on her couch, her mind trying to grasp the fleeting recollections of simultaneous calculations, the rising inevitability that she was watching the world be consumed in one unfathomable tide of cosmic power. Her fingers itched to type a continuation of her formulas, searching for any glimmer of salvation, even if only for the ship they had rushed people onto.
It didn’t make sense, made her nauseous to glance about her apartment--or nearly her apartment. The décor was subtly different, absent of both the slowly gathered personality that had eroded the immaculate state, and the harsh scaling she had done to remove all evidence, leaving barrenness to scar. No, this apartment looked like the extrapolation of years without...
Kara.
Kara, who conveniently hovered off-center of where Lena stared ahead, still sick from the spinning, disembodied panic and the adrenaline that was apparently unnecessary but she could not let go of.
“What do you want?”
The words were out before she had the chance to compose them, spat out with the bile that rose in her throat. Kara’s company--and worse, her grand speeches about how they could fix everything between them--was the last thing she wanted while she sorted out the perils she might face.
Kara’s head cocked, and at a closer glance, there was something uncanny about her. Perhaps it was the cordial smile that held neither familiarity or strained effort; or maybe it was the way her hand were held together in front of her, demure and attentive; or the dullness to her eyes that made her appear almost lifeless.
“I do not want, Ms. Luthor.”
It was Kara’s voice, but it rang hollow. Artificial. And the statement, so absolute and yet devoid of autonomy, made her heart drop into her churning stomach.
“Do you like my gift?”
Always one for the dramatic entrance, and with an eye for emotional torture, Lex just had to choose that moment--when Lena was reeling so wildly in the storm of circumstances--to announce himself.
“What did you do?”
That prideful note of a chuckle turned her stomach even more. “I saved the world.”
“Let’s not dance, Lex.” She settled back, poised as much as braced for the coming reveal, and asked again. “What did you do?”
“This Earth--Earth Prime--is a world anew. I couldn’t bring your non nocere work with us, but I thought this would be a nice consolation.” His mouth twisted into a vile grin as her gestured towards Kara. “You can call her Hope,” he mused. “Such a fitting name for the once-Paragon.”

Erasing Ruby Rose’s Batwoman is a betrayal of her key role in the Arrowverse’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover. The actress announced she was parting ways with Batwoman following the end of season 1 in May 2020. Prior to all that, Rose’s Kate Kane took part in the five-episode mega crossover that saw the superheroes — including The Flash, Supergirl, and the Green Arrow — band together to stop the villainous Anti-Monitor from destroying the multiverse. However, in a recent 30-minute special called Superman & Lois: A Legacy of Hope, which aired after the series premiere of Superman & Lois, Rose’s Batwoman was edited out of an important clip from “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”
In the fifth and final episode of the crossover, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Martian Manhunter, Superman, and White Canary came together to form the Justice League, an elite superhero team that could be called upon whenever the world needed saving, so forming a new team in a more official capacity makes sense. Per the Arrowverse, a world-threatening catastrophe happens at least once a year. Their gathering was the start of a new chapter as they said goodbye to fallen hero Green Arrow and moved forward as a unit. It was especially wonderful to see the heroes together on what is now Earth-Prime following the reboot of the multiverse.
However, where Rose’s Batwoman once stood next to Sarah Lance and J’onn J’onzz in the scene, the Legacy of Hope special removed her completely. This erasure is a bad look. Rose’s Batwoman may no longer be a part of the Arrowverse, but that doesn’t mean everything she was once a part of should be erased. There’s also the fact that Kate Kane played a crucial role in the crossover. She was revealed to be the Paragon of Courage after defeating the shady Bruce Wayne/Batman of Earth-99, offered plenty of support to Kara Danvers in a time of doubt, and assisted the rest of the superheroes in the defeat of the Anti-Monitor.
Kate also became a founding member of the Justice League and removing her from this pivotal scene from “Crisis,” even if it’s only in the special, disparages her legacy and acts as an erasure of her importance as a character. Yes, Rose is no longer a part of the Arrowverse and the role of Batwoman is now in the hands of Ryan Wilder, an original character played by Javicia Leslie. The actress is likely never coming back, but that shouldn’t mean her previous appearances need to be ignored and removed. If it’s an issue of legality, then the special could have used another scene without her in it. Going the extra mile to remove her is in poor taste.
To be sure, Kate Kane/Batwoman isn’t erased in the actual crossover episodes that appear on the DVD/Blu-rays of Arrowverse shows, so why edit her out of the scene in the Superman & Lois special? It’s worth noting that Melissa Benoist (Supergirl), David Harewood (Martian Manhunter), and Cress Williams (Black Lightning) are leaving the Arrowverse since their respective shows have been canceled. It’s doubtful, however, that they will also be edited out of the crossover scene in the future, making Rose’s absence from the scene all the more noticeable. Ultimately, removing Rose’s Batwoman is to retcon and alter what happened in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, which is wholly unnecessary and disrespectful.

keep thinking about Romantic Superrojascorp,, holding,, being Held,, Soft.
The sight of Supergirl and Lena Luthor cuddled up on one’s couch sleeping would be surreal enough to make the jaw of any ordinary citizen of Earth-Prime drop to the floor.
For Andrea Rojas, it’s only another Thursday night.
(It’s not that it’s not surreal to her sometimes, to be dating both of National City’s heroes. It’s not that the thought of I’m dating my childhood-best-friend-turned-love-of-my-life and an actual superpowered alien doesn’t make her want to pinch herself every once in a while just to make sure it’s all real and not just a very long VR session. But Andrea has never been one to balk from the challenge of any such wild, unconventional, deeply thrilling rides.)
Now, she only smiles, fond, endeared. She takes care to shut the door of their apartment quietly enough not to wake them, and slips out of her stilettos before she’d walk over to the couch.
It’s a scene she’s seen a thousand times before.
Kara’s head is tipped back, resting against the back of the couch, mouth open and lightly snoring. It’s an almost ridiculously adorable sight of the Paragon of Hope: Andrea’s heart constricts at it as it always does, and she resists the urge to reach out and stroke Kara’s hair. She notes, instead, that Kara is still wearing the supersuit, the red of her cape standing in stark contrast with the pristine white of the couch, half of it tucked under Kara’s body. The other half is wrapped around Lena like a blanket, with Kara’s arm thrown over her shoulder and pressing her tightly into Kara’s side, a double shield of Kryptonian comfort enveloping her in Kara’s warmth. Lena’s face is tucked into her neck in turn, tousled hair falling over her cheek, obscuring the lines of deep exhaustion that Andrea knows must be there.
Before she could keep admiring her girlfriends all smitten, or sneak off to the bedroom to get a blanket for them, though, Kara suddenly wakes with a yawn. Her eyes open slowly, bleary for a second before she turns them to Andrea, a soft smile spreading on her face as she recognizes her figure.
“You’re staring again,” she murmurs and Andrea smiles back and moves to kneel beside her on the couch.
“Hi, baby,” Andrea whispers back, finally reaching out to brush away an errant curl from Kara’s face. Kara hums contentedly, pressing into her hand, and Andrea lets her fingers roam, smoothing gently over Kara’s brows, cupping her face. “Long day?”
“Long night.” Kara turns her head just enough to be able to press a kiss to the heel of Andrea’s palm. “Had to make a space trip too. And then I had to carry this one home before she’d fall asleep at her desk.”
“Gross exaggerations.” It’s only the sleepy, barely audible mumbling that alerts them that Lena is awake now too: she stays unmoving, face still hidden against Kara’s shoulder. “I would’ve left by four.”
“I’m sure,” Andrea snorts. She shares a look of fond exasperation with Kara: Lena’s four usually means four in the afternoon the following day, after she becomes so immersed in the project that she forgets about anything outside of her lab or maybe, in a slightly better scenario, four in the morning, but likely Hawaiian time.
Lena must feel the gentle silent judgement too: she lifts her head and stares hazy-eyed at Andrea first, then Kara.
“Andy’s home the latest anyways,” she murmurs, petulant, and Andrea wants to reach out and wrap her in her arms, wants to kiss away those weary lines from her face, wants to hold Lena till she’s peacefully asleep again. She settles for reaching out and drawing Lena’s hand into her own, linking their fingers together.
“Busted. Can we take this to bed, babe?”
“Just another minute,” Lena yawns, then tugs on her hand. “C’mere and hold me.”
Andrea lets herself be moved over to Lena’s side, lets Lena burrow against her until Andrea is firmly pressed against her back, an arm wrapped around Lena’s middle, while Lena’s head comes to rest on Kara’s shoulder again.
“Five minutes, then I’m carrying you to bed,” she murmurs, pressing a kiss to the crown of Lena’s head. The only response she gets is a breathy little snore, then Kara’s low chuckle.
(She does make good on her word and falls asleep, in the dead of night, with Lena still curled up in her arms, Kara’s cape draped over the three of them.)

Alright y’all, with the release of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, it’s time for me to share my playlist for the entire trilogy.
I’ve refined this over like six years so scientifically speaking it’s probably good right. oh also it’s four hours long. so if you have a road trip or a boring job, this one’s for you. disclaimer, it’s entirely possible I have garbage taste in music. I also missed some characters and moments because there’s 65 songs here and I am merely human.
If you don’t have the patience for four hours, I recommend starting at track 45 and listening to the end, as the Mass Effect 3 portion is the strongest in my opinion.
UNDER THE CUT FOR DESCRIPTIONS WE GO!
FIRST MOVEMENT - MASS EFFECT 1
1. Atlas - Coldplay Eden Prime
“Sometimes the wire Must tense for the note Caught in the fire, say oh We're about to explode“
I really like the atmosphere of this song. It’s ominous, but also somehow hopeful, and makes me feel like Something Huge Is Coming.
2. I Will Not Sing A Hateful Song - Constantines Paragon Shepard
“But I was also born and raised To always speak and listen clear To know the last sound that I make Could be the last sound that I hear“
OK, listen, I think this song is about vampires, and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be a metaphor or not. But I think this is a great song about controlling one’s temper, about knowing that you have to Rise Above the parts of you that want to lash out sometimes to get things done and have peace. Seeing as how paragon Shepard, to me, always seems like they’re three deep breaths away from snapping, but manage to keep it in check, it fits them to a T.
And also maybe they’re a vampire.
3. Hard to Kill - Beth Crowley Renegade Shepard
“So I let the rumors Turn me into a legend 'Cause I'm only human But a good myth is hard to kill”
This one’s a recent addition, but holy cow, I love it for Renegade Shep, particularly an Earthborn or Ruthless, but it works for any of them.
4. We Own the Skies - Five Iron Frenzy Joker
“My hands are bleeding where they often crack The stars will sometimes burn with longing Through the choking black Of night shifts piling each against the next”
This really vibes with Joker’s backstory for me, his super driven serious self in flight school, contrasted with who he is when he can fly a ship. He’s the best pilot in the goddamn fleet and I love him.
5. I Just Wanna See - Smash Mouth Kaidan Alenko
“Mister moon checkin' on how y'all livin' The stars all winkin' at the day that's dimmin' I just wanna see”
This song fits into his reactions to first showing up at the Citadel and his former romanticism about living in space. Ironically, it’s a song about Earth, but I feel like it works well for him. Also, Smash Mouth absolutely sounds like the kind of music Kaidan would listen to, no I will not be taking questions or constructive criticism.
6. Don’t Give Up - Noisettes Ashley Williams
“She's got a talented face and a suitcase Ain't got no desire to go no place In her case she's got no desire with her hand in the flame say's she don't feel the fire “
The energy of this song is just perfect for Ashley’s no-nonsense chip on her shoulder attitude.
7. About As Helpful As You Can Be Without Being Any Help At All - Dan Mangan The Council
“I was thrown in the boat/Cast out to sea Friendly with waves/There were sharks below Hungry for me/So I dangled my leg”
I mean, the title says it all.
8. The Captain - Guster Anderson
“Courageous, just like the captain Marching forward with no doubt in his head”
I have adored this song ever since my friend played it for me, and it’s the ultimate mentor-protégé jam for me.
9. Secret Agent Man - Johnny Rivers Garrus Vakarian
“Here's a man who leads a life of danger To everyone he meets he stays a stranger Oh, with every move he makes another chance he takes The odds are he won't live to see tomorrow”
I have to poke a little fun at Garrus and how seriously he takes himself in Mass Effect 1. I romanced him across four playthrus, I’m allowed!
10. I’m Getting Too Old For This Shit - Kill Lincoln Urdnot Wrex
“This random apathy/I swear it's killing me But I guess it's all the same, till the devil knows my name”
I don’t know ANYTHING about this band, but this song fits Wrex’s disillusionment with the Krogan well, plus, like. The title. (And also, that he secretly DOES care what happens to the Krogan.)
11. Bird Song - Juniper Vale Tali’zorah nar Rayya
“I want to dance on the horizon line But there is something I am caged behind I have a heart made for take flight But I'm low, so low”
I adore this song and the sound of Juniper Vale in general. The etherealness of this one, combined with the youthful optimism, feels very Tali. The line about ‘something I am caged behind’ works well for the suits, too. This one’s especially good if you’re a Talimancer!
12. 11. Green Garden - Laura Mvula Liara T’Soni
“And I’ll fly on the wings of a butterfly High as a tree top and down again Putting my bag down, taking my shoes off Walk on the carpet of green velvet”
I really like this song’s vibes and I feel like Liara fits it well, particularly in ME1, before all her youthful optimism is stripped from her. The scenery descriptions feel very Thessia, too.
13. Feed Me (Git It) - Little Shop of Horrors The Thorian
“The guy sure looks like plant food to me!”
Do you get it. Do you get my joke. It’s because the Thorian is a plant that eats people. (I’m not funny)
14. Blindness - Metric Matriarch Benezia
“I was a blind fool, never complained All the survivors singing in the rain “
I don’t love the use of blind here as a negative, albeit metaphorical, descriptor, but I think this song fits Benezia’s indoctrination and death well. If you have suggestions for another, though, let me know!
15. Technologic - Daft Punk Saren
“Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, trash it, change it, mail, upgrade it”
I just think it’s Neat
16. Watershed - Vienna Teng The Reapers
“ While you were building your empires I was still sleeping”
I think this is the song that inspired the entire playlist. Vienna Teng sat down and decided to write a song from the perspective of a natural disaster, and it’s so ominous and gut-wrenching.
17. Hourglass - The Hush Sound Virmire
“This is how it ends We believe every lie and say we'll be friends How long will it last? Before we scratch all the scripts and we rework the cast “
hahahahah rework the cast get it because you have to pick who DIES
Seriously tho I really like this song for Virmire and that moment of choice that feels like it lasts 100 years on some playthroughts.
18. Pompeii - Bastille The Siege of the Citadel
“ And the walls kept tumbling down In the city that we love”
Throwback to when this song was on the radio like three times an hour. Which is around the time I made the first draft of this playlist, incidentally! It’s such a good Final Battle Jam for the Citadel, and the part about “if you close your eyes/does it almost feel like nothing’s changed at all” I think work really well for Shepard in this sequence. Shepard knew the Reapers were coming, had been fighting them all along; this attack on the Citadel is just retreading familiar territory for them, as horrifying as the war being brought to their doorstep is for the Citadel’s citizens and the council. James Vega has some good dialogue about that kind of thing in ME3.
INTERLUDE THE FIRST
19. Starships - Nicki Minaj The Normandy Crew
Starships were meant to fly Hands up and touch the sky
I like to have a little fun OK
20. Gravity - Yoko Kanno The Death of Commander Shepard
“Am I alone? is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet still the road keeps on telling me to go on”
Welcome to mood whiplash, it’s my specialty! This is the part where you die. I think it also works for her coma very well, when she’s just drifting between life and death, not sure what’s going on, but something keeps trying to pull her back to the world.
SECOND MOVEMENT - MASS EFFECT 2
21. The Phoenix - Fall Out Boy The Lazarus Project
“Hey young blood, doesn't it feel like our time is running out? I'm gonna change you like a remix Then I'll raise you like a phoenix “
this song has no right to go as hard as it does and if you think it’s melodramatic shut up
22. My Body Is A Cage - Peter Gabriel Commander Shepard
“I'm living in an age Whose name I don't know Though the fear keeps me moving Still my heart beats so slow “
This works particularly well if you romanced The Virmire Survivor, but this song captures the energy of Shepard freaking out bc they are trapped with Cerberus, because Cerberus rebuilt their body from the ground up. That jarring, caged feeling is so palpable in ME2 that when they gave me back Joker the first time I played, I BURST INTO SOBS from relief.
23. The Lady is a Vamp - The Spice Girls Miranda Lawson
“That's all in the past, legends built to last But she's got something new”
Listen. She’s a bond babe. Handbags, heels and pistols rock. She’s got class. This is a song about Miranda. That is all.
24. Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down Jacob Taylor
“ I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon After all I knew, it had to be something to do with you “
This one’s about the Vibes for me. Also can apply to his past relationship with Miranda. I’m also super showing my age on this song, oof haha.
25. Stable Song - Death Cab For Cutie Colony Abduction
“Rows of deserted houses all Our stable mates highway bound “
I really like the mood of this one for showing up on the very first abducted colony, the eerieness and sadness of it all and Shepard’s resolve to do something about it.
26. Konichiwa Bitches - Robyn Kasumi Goto
“I'm so very hot that when I rob your mansion You ain't call the cops, you call the fire station”
THAT COUPLET ALONE MAKES THE ENTIRE SONG. I love how playful and cheeky it is.
27. Seven Nation Army Glitch Mob Remix - The White Stripes, Glitch Mob Zaeed Massani
“And I'm talking to myself at night Because I can't forget Back and forth through my mind Behind a cigarette”
Pretty sure we all had this on some playlist or another when it came out, and it’s the perfect Badass With A Grudge song.
28. Science is Real - They Might Be Giants Mordin Solus
“ And when a theory emerges Consistent with the facts The proof is with science The truth is with science “
This one actually got added by my wife to replace a song that wasn’t on Spotify, but that has the same energy; Hank Greens “I Fucking Love Science”. I get more into the emotional side of Mordin in the ME3 section, but I also really just love his Hamster On Coffee energy and this song captures it really well.
29. Prove Yourself - Radiohead Garrus Vakarian
“I can't afford to breathe in this town Nowhere to sit without a gun in my hand Hooked back up to the cathode ray
I'm better off dead “
The absolute rock bottom mental state Garrus is in when you get back to him in ME2 is so heartwrenching. Might not always agree with my boy’s methods, but he’s one of my favorite fictional characters of all time.
30. Rat a Tat - Fallout Boy Feat. Courtney Love Jack
“We are professional ashes of roses, this kerosene's live You settled your score, this is where you come to beg”
It helps that Courtney Love sounds exactly like Jack to me, NGL.
31. Defeat You - Smash Mouth Grunt
“Hey I know what you've done It makes it that much better to defeat you “
Only I am brave enough to put two songs by Smash Mouth on the same playlist, to be shared in 2021
32. The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot - Brand New Horizon/The Virmire Survivor
“If it makes you less sad I will die by your hand Hope you find out what you want Already know what I am “
Hits harder if you romanced the Virmire Survivor. Mostly from Shep’s perspective. This is a Shep that feels Bad after that encounter rather than Mad, so Your Mileage May Vary.
33. Violet Stars Happy Hunting! - Janelle Monae Tali’zorah vas Neema
“I'm an alien from outer space I'm a cyber-girl without a face a heart or a mind”
I just like the vibes of this one for Tali! I know it’s more about an actual AI but...IDK. I like it. So there.
34. Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Thane Krios
“There is no pain you are receding A distant ship smoke on the horizon”
This song works both on a Literal level with his Kepral’s syndrome struggles, but also Metaphorical re: his Battle Sleep. Plus, Thane is a dad, so he gets Dad Rock.
35. My Medea - Vienna Teng Samara
“For I have made her prison be Her every step away from me And this child I would destroy If you tried to set her free “
Mom of the year award, here
36. Toxic - Britney Spears Morinth
“There's no escape, I can't wait I need a hit, baby, give me it You're dangerous, I'm loving it”
If Morinth weren’t so under-utilized after recruitment and didn’t get killed off in the background of ME3 I’d probably actually recruit her sometimes. I almost did on my most recent playthru bc that Shepard just HATES SPACE COPS. Anyway the song explains itself
37. Turn me On - David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj EDI/The Collector Attack
“My body needs a hero Come and save me Something tells me you know how to save me”
I know this song is a metaphor but also it works really well both literally and metaphorically for Joker saving EDI
38. Robots - Dan Mangan Legion
“Robots need love too They want to be loved by you “
The Geth just want to live peacefullyyyyyy
39. Be Still - The Killers Love Interest Theme
“Be still / someday you’ll leave fearlessness on your sleeve”
This song works so well for the night before Omega-4. If you had an ME2 love interest, anyway. Also “fearlessness on your sleeve” is one of my favorite set of words ever written.
40. No Cars Go - Arcade Fire The Omega-4 Relay
“We know a place no spaceships go We know a place where no subs go “
This one’s pretty literal.
41. Rocketman - Elton John Suicide Mission
“ And I think it's gonna be a long, long time 'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at home “
I like sneaking some Classics onto my playlists, and I think this is how I generally approach Shepard’s mindset during the Suicide Mission, mostly the chorus. I’m also a sucker for ballads during action sequences. This one isn’t a perfect 1:1 but the Vibes check out.
42. Blast Off - David Guetta feat. Kaz James The Normandy Crew
“Got all my people with me And none of us give a fuck So put dem hands up higher Let's smash this party up”
You have to imagine they partied HARD after recovering from Suicide Mission, but before Shep got arrested, right??? This is the Starships for ME2.
INTERLUDE THE SECOND
43. I’m Not Your Hero - Tegan and Sara Liara T’soni
“ Feeling like I am now lighting up the hall I was used to standing in the shadow of a damaged heart Learning all I know now, losing all I did I never used to feel like I'd be standing so far ahead “
This feels like a good coming of age moment for Liara, as she copes with the choices she made in the 2 years of Shepard’s death (giving them to Cerberus), losing Feron, etc. This is her coming into her own as the Shadow Broker. She’s not meant to be an uncomplicated Big Damn Hero, but she can do good from this position.
44. The Well and the Lighthouse - Arcade Fire The Alpha Relay Incident
“I'm serving time All for a crime I did commit You want the truth? You know I'd do it all again“
These opening lines I feel capture the Alpha Relay Incident really well, and how Shepard did what they HAD to do there, and would do it again, but it still feels like shit. I always wished there was more choice on that mission, but also, having something like that happen without player agency is interesting. Shepard is at their most interesting, I think, in times where we DON’T have a say in what happens to them.
45. Reignite - Malukah Commander Shepard
“Crush my heart into embers, and I will reignite”
Is it cheating to use a Mass Effect fan song on my playlist? I certainly don’t think so, and this is the best Mass Effect fan song ever written.
THIRD MOVEMENT - MASS EFFECT 3
46. This Is War - Thirty Seconds to Mars Leaving Earth
“It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie The moment to live and the moment to die The moment to fight, the moment to fight To fight, to fight, to fight “
It feels Too Easy to use this here but I’m gonna anyway. You’ve seen AMVs of this set to everything. It’s the ending song of DA:O. It’s the quintessential World At War song.
47. Battleborn - The Killers James Vega
“Up against the wall There's something dying on the street When they knock you down You're gonna get back on your feet”
James Vega is massively underrated and I will love him til I’m cold in the ground. Aro icon.
48. Handlebars - Flobots The Illusive Man
“I can hand out a million vaccinations Or let 'em all die of exasperation Have 'em all healed of their lacerations Have 'em all killed by assassination”
The way this song escalates fits TIM and Cerberus’s fall back into being Just Full On Evil really well. Perfect song for a power trip.
49. Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect - The Decemberists The Virmire Survivor
“And I am nothing of a builder But here I dreamt I was an architect And I built this balustrade To keep you home, to keep you safe From the outside world”
I like this song for how the Virmire Survivor feels about their survivor’s guilt and also about Shepard. I honestly wish they were both more heavily utilized in ME2 and 3, but I realize it’s hard to write a ton of content for characters who just aren’t in half of all peoples’ playthrus.
50. Heaven Knows - The Pretty Reckless Grisson Academy
“One, two, three and four, the devil's knocking at your door Caught in the eye of a dead man's lie Show your life with your head held high“
This song is so perfect for Jack and her biotic kids that she’s one of the only returning characters that gets her own song on this playlist
51. The Great Fire - OK Go Javik
“But when the flames die down, and everything is gone, Will there be fire under the ashes still?”
Self explanatory. Javik is the fire remaining under the ashes.
52. Bring the Hammer Down - Paragon Priority: Tuchanka/Kalros
“ Hammer strikes the anvil A rage that breaks the chain Strikes down like a lightening In our ranks “
KALROOOOOS
53. Wake Up - Arcade Fire Curing The Genophage/Mordin Solus
“If the children don't grow up, Our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up. We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms, turnin' every good thing to Rust I guess we'll just have to adjust”
I just really love this song as an image of Mordin’s spirit looking out over Tuchanka as the genophage cure is dispersed, and watching over future generations. If you didn’t cure the genophage, how dare you. No song for you.
Anyway started tearing up listening to this one while writing the description don’t look at me
54. Ballad of a Politician - Regina Spektor Councillor Udina/Priority Citadel 2
“A man inside a room is shaking hands with other men This is how it happens/Our carefully laid plans”
traitor
55. Cyborgs vs. Robots - Ludo The Geth-Quarian War
“But your iron fist will never knock me down 'Cause I'm powered By a conscious right to conduct my life without fear.”
This is probably a bit silly for this awful war. But also. It does fit. You can’t tell me it doesn’t. Just save them both at the end and you can feel fine having some fun with it!
56. Artificial Heart - Jonathan Coulton The Geth
“It's not a real heart It is a real artificial heart”
Just a little fun with the Geth! This works best with Reaper Upgrades.
57. With A Little Help From My Friends - Joe Anderson, Jim Sturgess The Citadel DLC
“What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you, but I know it's mine
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends”
I happen to prefer this version to any other because of how much fun it sounds like they’re having
58. Dark In Here - The Mountain Goats Priority: Earth
“Steal away at sundown, pick a place to hide Check for signs of ambush, hunker down inside Tired of running, tired of never standing still Hear them riding up the hill“
You know I had to get the Goats in here. Would it be a fan playlist if there wasn’t one?
59. Adieu - Yoko Kanno Leaving your Love Interest/Shepard and the Beam
“My love for you burns deep inside me / So strong Embers of times we had And now, here I stand / Lost in a memory I see your face, and smile”
...do I need to say more than that?
60. My Way (Minor Key) - Chase Holfelder The Indoctrination of The Illusive Man
“Regrets, I've had a few/But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do/I saw it through, without exemption“
This cover takes this song from something I tolerate when I hear it to one of my FAVORITE songs. The frenzied way he sings the “through it all” verse is PEAK Indoctrinated TIM.
61. I’m Alive - Disturbed Refusal
“There will never be a reason why I will surrender to your advice To change myself, I'd rather die/Though they will not understand”
Honestly I didn’t “get” the Refusal ending until I heard this song, then I was like, OH, I SEE IT ALL SO CLEARLY NOW. This is my favorite in-universe Shepard take on the Refusal ending. I always got it from the player’s perspective of being dissatisfied with the options, but this one puts it into the world for me. This is a Shepard who does not trust the Starchild. This is a Shepard that chooses to end things on their own terms rather than submit to their designs.
62. Machine - Regina Spektor Control
“I collect my moments Into a correspondence With a mightier power Who just lacks my perspective And who lacks my organics And who covets my defects “
I used to have Adieu here, actually, because like Refusal, I didn’t used to GET the Control ending. Now, I do, in part thanks to hearing this song. I mean, just go look at the full lyrics. If this song hadn’t been written years before the end of Mass Effect 3, I’d swear it was a fan song for it.
63. Maybe Tomorrow - Yuki Kajiura Destroy
“The moon is gone And the night is still so dark I'm a little bit afraid of tomorrow“
I’m a Destroy Ending person, I won’t lie. Full on “the starchild is a liar and my synthetic friends are FINE” indoctrination theory level destroy ending. But this song is not about that. It’s about the canonical destroy ending, and if you prefer a Shep that survives it, this song’s for you.
This song captures the exhaustion and melancholy of the end of a long journey so well. Shepard is afraid of what comes next, the collateral damage resulting from their actions. But they know that, at least, it’s over now. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
64. Waiting For the End - Linkin Park Synthesis
“ I know what it takes to move on I know how it feels to lie All I wanna do is trade this life for something new Holding on to what I haven't got”
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. The hardest part of ending is starting again. Oof. Gets me every single time. Shepard finding the resolve to sacrifice themself for the hope of something better, of things not going how they planned, ever, of learning to make peace with that and the people who loved them learning to carry on without them? OOF.
65. Shine - Vienna Teng Epilogue
“Shine with all the untold Hold the light given unto you Find the love to unfold In this broken world we choose“
Vienna Teng is a master of capturing life’s softer emotions, and this fits perfectly with the epilogue scene for me. Tell me again about the Shepard.
“Find the love to unfold in this broken world we choose” has to be one of the greatest lines about the human experience ever written.
#mass effect#mass effect legendary edition#no one's gonna listen to this#but i need the world to know it exists#it took me as long as the playlist is to put this together

Meet Lux Shepard
Art Commissioned from BirdyRaider on instagram
Name: Lux Shepard Age: 31 Class: Vanguard Background: Spacer, Hero, Paragon Love interest: Kaidan Alenko Bestfriends: Garrus, Kasumi, Tali,Miranda, EDI, Wrex and Liara. Kids: Grunt (Not really but he considers him his son), Ashley (oldest daughter, named for Ashley), Legion (oldest son, named after Legion), Mordin (Son/daughter) haven’t decided yet. Summary: Lux was born in space on the alliance cruiser, the Rainier. He was born to Hannah Shepard and his father Robert Shepard. His father was Killed in action during the first contact war. He is also a powerful Biotic and gives other human biotics a run for their money. He went on to serve in the alliance and during the Skyllian Blitz, He became a face of hope after uniting the colonist against the invaders. He also saved many lives himself by using his biotics to create shields and traps. He was given the Star of Terra for his efforts during the Blitz and also becoming part of the N7 program. During the events of the game, the events of Eden Prime shook him a lot. The Prothean beacons warning made him on edge. Becoming a Spectre practically meant nothing to him, he needed to stop Saren. When he discovered the reapers, his goal changed. He was going to do whatever to stop them and save everyone. During Virmire with a heavy heart he left Ashley behind, vowing to end Saren for her. During the battle of the citadel he chose to save the council, earning humanity a spot on the council. Having a strong dislike for Udina he appointed Anderson as the councilor for humanity. The events of mass effect 2 really hardened his hate for the reapers. Watching whole colonies going missing he knew something bad was coming. When he eventually found out what happened to the colonist in the collector base he couldn’t leave it standing and blew it to hell and high water. He had been fast enough to save his crew before they had the same fate. During this time he became close friends with Miranda, Tali, Garrus, Grunt and Doctor Chakwas. When the reapers finally DID arrive and the war began, Shepard really did want to go “I told you so” to everyone who told him he was wrong. But he was better than that...just by a little bit. Some how, in the middle of this war he was able to cure the genophage and even end the Geth war by making peace between the Geth and Quarians. He also FINALLY got together with Kaidan after years and years of pinning over him. Of course the first human spectres would be husbands. During the battle of earth and firing of the crucible, Shepard chose to destroy the reapers. He didn’t want to lose EDI and the Geth, especially after Legion, but he would not stand for the reapers to remain. He survived and was found by Kaidan in the rubble and spent weeks in the hospital recovering. The mass relays were rebuilt and the galaxy was starting to go back to some what normal...but it would never be the same. After the war Kaidan and Shepard got married and retired. Well as much as retired as they could. Kaidan only retired from the service while focusing on teaching his Biotic squad and new students. Lux helped with the rebuilding efforts on Earth, but really he just wanted to finally breath and no one blamed him. He was the hero of the galaxy after all. Years later Kaidan and Lux had a daughter who they named Ashley and after that a son named Legion. Lux wanted to name each of their kids after friends they had lost along the way. Kaidan didn’t argue at all, he thought it was a great idea. Lux even tried swaying Kaidan to adopt Grunt. That ended up happening.

I have so much to unpack from last night's Supergirl episode. Since it ends at 3am UK time, I often tweet a little before I finally fall asleep. But it is now midday, so here goes on further thoughts on it all. I know this is going to be pretty rambling but I hope it makes sense.
First. Up until this half of the season, not only did Supergirl consistently trend in the UK, so did other words associated with it, most notably Kara and Lena.
Since 5B began, the trending has failed to materialise in the UK. The hiatus of two those blocks almost immediately on top of each other hasn't helped, but it is still a salient point.
Now for the rest. I'm not even sure where to start, but I will try my best.
The opening scenes in the bar.
No Nia. No Kelly. Where were they? Nothing was even mentioned. It wouldn't have taken much to have Alex say if Kelly was working, or running late. Anything. Hell, they had Kelly/Dansen and Nia meet up in a bar scenario in 5A. Why suddenly are they not there? They wouldn't necessarily need dialogue (I mean, Kelly has barely had any since Crisis anyway, so what's new?)
Yet in walks William and suddenly Alex is teasing Kara about inviting him. Winn is also there saying, hey it's okay. You barely know the guy, you had a shitty relationship beforehand, but go ahead, date the dude.
We had a prime opportunity for the Danver sisters to do karaoke together. Instead it was with William. At the expense of sister time (so many would’ve loved the sisters singing together).
So much here is wrong for me as a viewer.
If you have a show about female empowerment, yet the lead of that show is having to be told by others that dating a guy she has barely shared any positive moments with, let alone any romantic feelings for beyond a really awkward moment the episode before; that is not empowering a woman.
All too often Supergirl (as the lead in the show) is looking at dating, but not being capable of making her own romantic choices without the interference from others around her.
The only one I can think of who didn't need that was S1 James and to some degree Adam. Kara showed interest, but ultimately made the decisions on her own. Kara also recognised that with Winn, they were better off as friends. Yet S2 began and inexplicably Kara and James had broken up, and the need for Kara to get told to go for it by others began.
Mon-El was extremely problematic. As is William. Both were allowed to lie, to treat women like garbage at times with immunity. Yet here is another double standard. Kara and the Superfriends lied to Lena for 3 years, yet Lena is a bad person for reacting. I will repeat what has been said I don't know how often about Lena's reaction. It isn't without issue in how she is dealing with it. She isn't evil, but she has handled it badly. Her own emotional trauma, that was partly unpacked in 5A helps though explain why she behaved as she has.Yet, Mon-El faced no consequences for his actions. William can be a complete nightmare in how he treated Kara in 5A, but all is suddenly forgotten about or forgiven because of the reset? That is a cop out if ever there was one.
This hypocrisy is what annoys me the most, and frankly it is misogynistic all too often.
I actually pity any woman who believes it is okay for a man to behave as many do towards Kara. The message it sends is awful. I know the men in my family would be horrified by the actions of these love interests. I know of some men watching the show who feel the same way.
As for Lena and Kara. The trauma both have faced has shaped them. Yet Kara appears unaffected by losing her world a second time when Earth 38 was destroyed. On losing Argo. Sure they got it back, but as a changed merged World. You expect us to believe having to watch an antimatter wave destroy those you love has no effect? That being trapped for months with only the other paragons and Lex didn't cause trauma, even with a positive outcome. That seeing Krypton destroyed the first time wasn’t traumatic enough. That’s not something that just goes away. Add in losing Jeremiah, losing Astra (again), the trauma Supergirl must face when she can’t rescue everyone, that has a lifelong impact.
Lena has shown her emotional trauma has also been lifelong, albeit in a different way. To dismiss the emotional abuse Lena has suffered to attack her actions now is pitiful. Winn even suggests to Kara, that in the future, Lena does come through this, and isn't evil personified some want to make her out to be.
Yet Mon-El gets excused, William gets excused. Ugh. I’m sick of the double standard.
So, let’s unpack this further. Kelly Olsen was in the military. She wasn't just trained, but had an active role in the army. She recounted an event at a checkpoint where she was serving in S4. So she had active service, and it was in that moment when Kelly decided she wanted to help others more.
Kelly also knows the stress of keeping an important part of your life secret. She then also fell in love with a woman, someone who was her Sergeant, who was then killed on patrol (another reason we know Kelly was on active duty). It devastated Kelly who hadn't even told James of her relationship.
Later, upon completing her service, Kelly became a psychologist specialising in trauma.
Nia is also someone facing problems. Not only did her becoming Dreamer lead to discord with her sister, as well as the tragic loss of her mother, she has problems with Brainy. Nia offered to be there for Kelly when she was upset over watching Alex get hurt, but we saw nothing to suggest they had a heart to heart. Azie posted something that suggested they filmed a scene that did this, but it never made it on the final edit. Instead, once again we had William taking screen time.
So anyway, the point of all this is: guess who is placed to actively help Lena and/or Kara with the problems?
Kelly. Who apparently doesn't know Kara is Supergirl yet. So while Kara wonders if she should tell William, she could have the exact same conversations with Alex, only substitute Kelly for William. Overall, the plot could easily be maintained, and the established cast get good solid and plausible screen time. She could even talk to Nia about it, yet doesn't.
Another thing I find hard to understand is why haven't they used the link of Kelly, working at Obsidian North, where they could establish the Leviathan link.
If Lex has made the connection to Leviathan, you are telling me, even without Brainy helping them, Alex, Nia, J'onn and Kara haven't made the same connection? C'mon. Two investigative journalists, one who has won the Pulitzer, two DEO trained agents, and if Kelly was brought in, someone military trained; aren't able to make the connections? J'onn has all those computer banks in the tower, and while none of them are Brainy or Winn, he can't use said computing power? Why bother having it, if they are only props in the background. They could even ask Lena to help, since she has shown willingness to work with them if the reasoning was good enough. Leviathan is someone she knows (after all, Lena could have her memories returned by J’onn too). She knows the danger Leviathan poses. She could use the leverage to still get the lens from Obsidian in a similar way to now, but through Kelly if needed.
Actually, if they are using the tower, how does J’onn afford to pay for all this? I can only assume being as old as he is, he made some great investments over time, allowing him to be independently wealthy? But again nothing really suggests this.
Oh as for Alex leaving the DEO, great. After all, she was the Director but hasn’t been able to lead the DEO in all that time. Let alone some of the morally grey areas the DEO skirted around all too often. Still, where will she get her income from? Does she get paid as part of J’onn’s PI firm? Kara barely makes rent and food costs (at least she says her apartment is rent controlled so wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise), so no way can she afford to help Alex out financially. Kelly might be able to support her, but again I cannot imagine it would be sustainable.
I feel like banging my head against a brick wall.
Onto Nia. I've said this a few times now, but here I go again. Back to William. I get the reason he came along in regards to Russell and so the Andrea connection. That story made sense. What hasn't made sense - William being used as a journalist, when Nia is right there! Nia has barely had any screen time, and virtually none as a journalist; you know - her actual job. I'm not sure what the minutes on screen ratio has been this season between the two, but it has felt completely slanted towards William as a viewer.
Instead of Kara and Nia investigating Leviathan after William was 'exposed' in 5A, now Nia is sidelined again, because they want Kara to team up with William to investigate Lex. Why do they need that journalistic pairing of William and Kara, when Nia - who as a Superhero, is better placed if danger from Lex occurs. But no, they're making it about Kara having to work with William because Lex threatened to kill him. Plus Nia was being mentored by Kara. Is she no longer being mentored by Kara? Are they a team? Even if the mentoring has ended, Nia is still not being utilised as a journalist. As the saying goes, make it make sense!
As for Lex. I love Jon Cryer. I’ve loved his version of Lex, but once again I feel Lena is just as well placed to take on his role in bringing down Leviathan. Why add another villain to this plot? We were told it was Leviathan who were the bad guys for this season, but once again we barely have a glimpse of them, but all the screen time on Lex, also to the detriment of Lena. We could be using this time to begin to mend Lena’s relationships with not only Kara, but the Superfriends. Instead we are getting bit and pieces, that seemingly bear little resemblance to the ‘fight for Lena’s soul’, or the ‘Stronger together, weaker apart’ tag lines the SG team used to market the series in 5A. (See attached photo). So again, this is frustrating for us to watch, as there is absolutely no cohesion to the storytelling. We know it is the ‘nothing is as it seems’ season, but to have no really coherent storylines so far this late on? It is baffling for me.
The sidelining of Nia and Kelly also brings to the fore the way the LGBTQ characters are being treated.
Dansen feels like a long lost legend from the mists of time. As I said earlier, there was a perfect opportunity for a Dansen scene in the opening part of the show, yet we might as well watch tumbleweeds fly past, for all the screen time Dansen or Nia have had. Well, rather haven’t had.
It seems we shouldn't ask for justification as to why William is on the show, but when we say the LGBTQ characters are being sidelined, that it doesn't matter one jot how diverse a cast can be; if said cast are not being given credible storylines or screentime, and if we say as much, we have to continually justify why that is the case. We get told to take what we are given. To insist on better, is oppressing white CIS men (in some cases CIS women have argued the same). This isn't oppressing anyone, but asking that if we get given relationships, given characters we want to invest in, they get the storylines to accomplish that. Supergirl is failing the LGBTQ audience so badly at the moment. So many have the same complaints it is ludicrous to suggest this is just one section of a fandom or trolls.
What I'm taking from all this at the moment is that 20% of the main viewing demographic as per GLAAD figures (and more besides, as I've seen straight viewers recognising the problems as well), have serious concerns with Supergirl.
But keep telling us we are overreacting. Or we should take what we are given. Or that we are delusional. After all, it is the kind of crap we have sprouted at us continually away from Supergirl, why shouldn't it be the case here.
I look at S4, heck even 5A, to what the show is doing now and it feels like an unmitigated disaster. Episodes are running out fast, so even if they increase Dansen, or Nia's screen time, it won't be enough to make up what has been lost. They're running out of time to give us a solid ending that ties up the mess they've created.
I really don’t know where this will end? CW Supergirl - do better. You have some phenomenal actors and actresses in your cast. Do them and your audience justice. Because right now you aren’t at all.

EARTH-9
When Nora West-Allen suggested hopping Earths to see how others are recovering from the last few weeks after Crisis, Lorraine should have realized not everything was going to go to plan. Usually when Nora and her go off on their so called “adventures” by themselves or with the Legends, they end up getting caught up in some kind of trouble and this time was no different.
“Okay I know that you wanted to visit the Titans, but now that we have can we please go back home to Earth 72? I still have to finish writing my term paper on molecular physics before my moms realize we disappeared again,” Lorraine complained to Nora as they left the Titans Tower in San Francisco. Ever since Crisis, Nora has been dying to check on her other friends since the large wave of anti-matter hit and destroyed the multiverse. Luckily Oliver’s sacrifice on Earth Prime helped rebirth the multiverse, bringing back some old earths along with new ones.
“Loosen up Lori, everyone knows you can write that paper in your sleep. Plus I think we still have enough charge to visit my parents back on Earth Prime, they don’t even know I'm alive yet.” Nora retorted as they entered an alleyway. Lori was going to complain again about being cautious with the amount of charge left in their courier bracelets until she looked up at Nora and saw the hope and determination in her eyes to see her parents again and apologize. Lori knows how guilty she felt about the events that lead to her death in the old timeline and why she has avoided visiting them until she was ready.
“Fine.” Lori conceded with a pout and Nora did a little happy dance.
“Yes! Yes! Yes! Okay i’m so excited! It will be a big surprise!” Nora exclaimed as Lori shook her head with a grin at her friend's antics.
“All right and hurry up already, what’s the coordinates again?” Lori inquired, but when she turned to look at Nora, she was already pushing her button to transport.
“Oops.”
“Nora wait!” Lori exclaimed, trying to grab her shoulder so she could travel with her but as her fingers were about to reach Nora, she disappeared into a bright light. “Great. No Nora, don't worry about me, it’s not like I have never visited Earth Prime before.” Lori mumbled to herself sarcastically and set her courier to Earth Prime. Seeing as she had no specific coordinates Lori entered a rough estimate of National City coordinates. She pressed the GO button and hoped for the best as a familiar bright light engulfed her body.
EARTH PRIME
“Kara, go home. You look exhausted,” Alex mused as she entered the DEO breakroom, where Kara was currently laying on one of the couches, sprawled out and pouting with her cape covering her as a blanket.
When she went to go and prevent an attack on L-Corp Luthor-Corp, she didn’t expect to be fighting a meta-human with the ability to teleport. Every time she swung, he would disappear and reappear just to punch her and disappear again. She spent what felt like forever frustrated and over exerting herself until Lena stepped in with a device that acted like an EMP and stopped him from teleporting long enough for Kara to put meta-cuffs on him. Just after doing so, Kara turned to thank Lena but she already left as DEO agents entered the room with Lex, wearing a big grin witnessing the cold shoulder Lena gave her.
After the fight, Kara took off from the balcony and headed straight to the breakroom to grab a tub of ice-cream and sulk. Still pouting, Kara sat up and faced Alex.
“She acts like I'm invisible Alex! All I want to do is make things right but she won’t ever give me the opportunity to. All I want to do is explain why I kept it from her for so long but how can I when the only time I see here is in a meeting or in an emergency?!” Kara huffed out and tossed the now empty ice cream carton into the trash bin.
“You will figure it out, have a little hope.” Alex joked and lightly nudged her leg with her boot, which brought a little smile to Kara’s face.
“Ugh, you’re right, I just have to be more patient.” Kara replied.
“Good luck with that, you are the least patient person I know.” Alex smirked as she dodged a pillow being thrown at her.
“Quit it Alex!” Kara exclaimed and the two girls laughed. Then Brainy walked in with a tablet and started spewing a hundred words at once about particle traces and space breaches that popped up in Central City and National City.
“Breathe Brainy and start over.” Alex said as she put a hand on his shoulder to relax him.
“My apologies, Director Danvers, we’ve just received readings of a new sort of breach, similar to Cisco’s but also different that popped up here and in Central City. I’ve connected with Team Flash but nothing unusual has happened yet. They said they would be on standby in case of any attack.” Brainy explains as Kara goes to clip her cape back onto her shoulders.
“Well where is the particle reading located in our city, I can go check it out from an aerial view.” Kara suggested, already heading towards the balcony for take off. Brainy told her the reading was located in the park across from Luther-Corp and to be careful in case it’s a trap. Alex reassured her they will be on standby in case anything happens.
With that knowledge Kara takes off in the air and heads over to the park. At first, when she arrives she doesn’t notice anything out of the ordinary until she sees a dark haired figure laying by the statue recently put up by Lex of himself to commemorate his role as a Paragon. Kara has always considered chopping off the head one night with her heat vision but it would be too obvious since everyone adores Lex in this reality.
Cautiously, Kara descended in front of the unconscious figure until she was just a couple feet away from her. As she was about to clear her throat to get her attention, the stranger groaned and rubbed the side of her head.
“Well that’s certainly new.” The stranger mumbled aloud with a slight Irish accent.
Kara then figured now would be a good time to announce herself and said, “Excuse me miss, did you need some help?”
Lorraine startled and whipped her head around and dropped her jaw looking up at Kara, her mom… except it’s not her mom, Lori had to remind herself. Blinking a few times, Lori stood up and brushed off her jeans and cleared her throat.
“I’m sorry Superwoman, I didn’t mean to cause any problems, or damages.” Lori finally said as she addressed a curious Kryptonian but winced after she realized her slip up.
“Superwoman? What damages? Are you hurt?” Kara asked as she did a quick x-ray check of the woman to make sure she is in fact okay.
The woman pointed to the statue and Kara followed her gaze. Kara noticed a small head shaped dent near the podium base. When she went to ask how that got there, she made eye contact with strikingly familiar blue-green eyes and facial features. She just couldn’t put her finger on it.
“Who are you?” Kara inquired. Lori shifted her feet uneasily under Kara’s gaze, not knowing what to do in this situation. She can’t give out her usual alias, Lara Kent, which is on her fake ID for when she and Nora go to other earths since Kara will see right through that lie. Instead of answering she looked at her courier bracelet and attempted to contact Nora but it seemed to have run out of battery.
“No, no, no, no! This cannot be happening to me! First Nora and now this.” Lorraine uttered out as she began to pace nervously. Not knowing what to do in this situation she attempted to distract her not-mom and pointed to a random building in her sights.
“Oh no! There is a fire!” Lori tried to distract her as she attempted to escape, except Kara didn’t buy it and radioed Alex over coms while putting a firm hand on Lori’s forearm so she wouldn't attempt to run.
“Hey Alex,” Kara said as she activated her earpiece, “ I don’t know how to explain this but I think I found out what, or rather who is responsible for the particle readings that Brainy received.”
“Okay, bring them in for questioning so we can get some answers.” Alex responded and the coms cut out.
Grabbing a hold of the stranger, Kara put on specialized cuffs and took off into the sky towards the DEO.

@theaxquccn:: [ cont’ from x ]
Just because she had a high tolerance for pain it didn’t mean she didn’t feel the effects of being wounded. All she had mustered to say when Supergirl swooped in to her rescue was a stifled woah of awe.
“I’ll be okay ma’am. No need to put yourself out” Thea Speedy remarked purposely avoiding those kind blue eyes of hers. She was like a propaganda poster for a superhero, dashing , tall kind.
“You’re too kind” she remarks as Supergirl offers to help her even more, Thea’s little protest falling into deaf ears.
“Please, just call me Kara.” Kara smiled in amusement, recognising the awe behind the girl’s eyes. She had only met Speedy a couple of times when she had teamed up with the Flash and the Arrow, but the vigilante had left quite an impression on the Kryptonian.
“I could fly you back to your apartment,” Kara offered as she reached out to support the shorter girl, “You didn’t break any bones, but we really should get those wounds cleaned up.”

crisis on infinite earths
so I haven’t been able to face tumblr for months, for a lot of reasons including the fact that Arrow after 8x05 sucked SO HARD that even the idea of looking at gifsets from 8x06 and 8x07 was really painful to me.
And then I refused to watch the first three episodes of Crisis until yesterday. Regarding those first 3 episodes, I have two lines of thought.
The first one is what everyone already knows: I HATE IT ON PRINCIPLE because it RUINED Oliver's rightful conclusion, it RUINED Arrow's direction and rightful conclusion.
I HATE that Crisis is the reason they made Elseworlds, and that preparing/justifying Elseworlds and Crisis basically took over and ruined season 7 and 8.
I HATE that Crisis is the reason Oliver left his family, that they're giving us tragedy porn as Oliver's ending rather than the culmination of his humanity.
I HATE that they repeatedly subverted and perverted Oliver's own show, his own story, to prop up the other shows, the Arrowverse, and the crossovers - to expand the franchise and appeal to a fanbase that was never going to be happy unless they turned their back on everything that made Arrow what it was in the first place.
So I HATE IT ON PRINCIPLE because it is the culmination of that subversion of Oliver's show and story, and the culmination of appealing to that audience.
That being said, the second line of thought is that as a story it's somewhat entertaining, and so far the plot mostly makes sense. Which is WAY more than I could say for the shitfest that was Elseworlds.
And then here are my thoughts on the ending of Crisis:
(TL;DR: FUCK THAT SHIT)
1. Though the Arrow portion was the most interesting and I appreciated the “walk down memory lane” (especially the Oliver/Ray scene about Felicity’s trust in Oliver, from 3x17), nothing can make up for the fact that the wrong people were there for Oliver's death. And nothing can make up for the fact that the wrong people were shown grieving for him.
I appreciate that Sara, as the one main hero with a connection to Oliver, at least did the heavy grief lifting (way more than Barry and Kara), and it was truly meaningful. But it was unforgivable that Diggle and Mia (AND FELICITY) were not involved.
I appreciate that Lyla and Dig got to mourn, but again it was unforgivable that they didn't show OR EVEN MENTION Felicity. Like. THEY NEEDED TO MENTION FELICITY MOURNING. THEY NEEDED TO MENTION HER GRIEF. EVERYONE NEEDED TO MENTION HER. THEY ALL GRIEVED OLIVER SO SELFISHLY (with the exception of John); THEY BARELY KNEW HIM RELATIVE TO FELICITY. GODDAMMIT SO MAD. Also THEA!? GAHHHH. I NEEDED TO SEE A SHOT OF FELICITY AND THEA AND BABY MIA TOGETHER MOURNING among those shots of the randos mourning. I don’t care that it’s “impossible” because they’re not on the show; they should have made it possible.
2. While I appreciate the return of Sara Diggle, I HATE the "EARTH PRIME" solution.
the Arrowverse spent YEARS selling us on this multiverse idea, making us care for multiple versions of characters as entirely different people
which ones of those people are "real" now, and which never existed (or are dead - depending on ... what actually happened)??
For example Harrison Wells, Harry Wells, H.R. Wells...which one is real? Also LAUREL!? Is she dead? Is she alive? Which one is she?
they spent YEARS building events in our heroes' lives based on the existence of multiple earths
and so many of the events in "our" heroes' lives were shaped by the existence of the multiverse:
for example, Oliver and Felicity's wedding happened at the end of Crisis on Earth-X; in this reality, when did they get married?
Similarly, I think the entire plot of all the seasons of the Flash depend on the existence of multiple earths?
they spent YEARS selling the idea that things turned out majorly different on different earths due to major and minor changes in each reality. Of everything, I think this is the most egregious issue with “Prime Earth”
if we bought into the idea that each earth, each doppelganger, was uniquely defined by the circumstances of their lives, then literally NONE of our characters survived.
Because as we knew them, they were all heavily shaped by the existence of the multiverse (either firsthand or by proxy), and if suddenly there never was a multiverse, then it doesn't make sense that they'd turn out the same.
Like, even if we say Earth-1 people are defaults (which there’s no reason to say that at all other than “because that’s how we want it to be,” but anyway) then maybe most of Arrow characters that originated in the first 3 seasons will be unchanged. But everyone else is basically fucked.
3. All things considered this isn’t even a big deal, but GOD the combat is just so fucking stupid, like it makes no fucking sense.
wtf are "shadow demons"? they were never properly explained.
why did the anti-monitor come back?
why were they trying to fight him, like, in human form? (seriously, the comic book need to put problems into human shape so that they can be dealt with through one-on-one "combat" is so stupidly unforgivable. I get the appeal of one-on-one combat; it's why I liked Arrow to begin with. No fucking magic or metahumans, just mostly-realistic problems that manifested in realistic ways...and it made sense for humans to fight them when fighting was the appropriate solution).
Speaking of: wtf did the paragons actually *do*?? "Beam of pure love/hope/truth/courage" etc. (which itself is so cheeesy and ridiculous and I only allow it on Legends) but...okay, what?? Where? When? How? Like, I didn't need a carebear stare or laserbeams, but at least showing Oliver being affected in some way would have been nice.
4. And of course, the whole fucking utter terribleness that Oliver had to die.
Oliver Queen spent the majority of Arrow learning the lesson that SELF SACRIFICE IS THE EASY ANSWER.
He spent years learning TO FIGHT TO LIVE.
He spent years learning that he has a responsibility to the people who love him.
It was a betrayal of his character, his growth, his story for him to leave his family to go die.
ALSO narratively speaking, Oliver’s story began in tragedy and the narrative demanded that it end happily
Essentially, the Crossovers (and the last few seasons, since they completely revolved around the crossovers) UTTERLY BETRAYED Arrow and the character of Oliver Queen
Oliver Queen did not deserve to die
The “living as a hero is the hard part” is utter fucking BS
Arrow began as a “grounded” show, and began to slide into comic book nonsense (where rules of the universe are inconsistent, and consequences for actions lose their sense of meaning) in season 4; after that it just got worse with each crossover and each show added to the Arrowverse. Arrow became a workhorse, subservient to the expansion of a franchise. It was adding insult to injury that he died in support of such a fucking ridiculous, ungrounded story that would have been unrecognizable to the audience that first fell in love with Arrow.
So basically I’m devastated. But also not. Because though I did cry, I was also not nearly as moved as I should have been. The travesty of it all is what I grieve the most.
Those were just my jotted down thoughts. Probably will have more later. Love you all so much. 💗😘💗😘💗

I just realized something very sad about the creation of Earth-Prime.
For Lena:
Ever since we met Lena she has been striving to break away from the Luthor name. One of her first lines of dialogue is "I'm just a woman trying to make a name for herself outside her family." Taking over Luthorcorp hadn't been something that she had wanted to dedicate her life to. Lena at the core is an innovator, an inventor. Though she is successful as a CEO, it wasn't what she wanted to be. Lex was groomed to be the next CEO, he was always going to be the one to take over the family business.
Lena didn't back down though. She took over Luthorcorp and created a force for good with L-corp. She was determined to redeem her name, a name left tainted by actions she wasn't responsible for. Even in her greatest moments like saving the world from the Daxam invasion (though she was the catalyst for it) the Luthor taint followed her. She fully believed that she was the cause of all those kids getting sick from lead poisoning. She was so willing to accept that oh of course she is a Luthor so this destruction is her fault. So willing to accept it's her fault in the fact that her life was worth giving up if it meant more people wouldn't get hurt.
It isn't until the later seasons with Lena that she is seen lifted from the shadows of the Luthor name. The name Lena Luthor was breaking away from the whispers of "the Luthors''. She was starting to be seen as a force of good. L-corp is rising to the point she can buy out CatCo from under neither Edge's nose. Her company and innovations help accelerate the healing of the world after so many attempts to end Earth-38. It takes years but she is able to escape from the title Lex Luthor's little sister if only slightly.
The tragedy of Earth-Prime? All this hard work that has now become her life mission of sorts has been wiped clean out from under her. Though the Luthor name is no longer synonymous with xenophobic it still carries weight. That weight is thrown back on her shoulders as she is shoved back into Lex's shadow. Lena once said she never stood behind a man, but I'm not sure that's completely true. She is once again forced to try to get out from behind Lex's shadow. A shadow that has her trapped with self-doubt, manipulation, and abuse.
For Kara:
When most people talk about Kara Zor-El they relate her to Hope. Because of course, even the universe has deemed her as the Paragon of Hope. This is not what I think has Kara's most defining feature. Her most defining feature is Loss. The story is well known. Kara was sent away from Krypton in its last moments to protect Kal-El. Everyone she has ever known lost. This is Kara's first major loss When she finally does make it to Earth-38 she must once again live with the loss of completing the last task her parents ever gave her. She is left with the Danvers and meets Jeremiah Danvers who will continue to be a source of loss and pain.
As Kara becomes Supergirl she must fight Astra. Once again the story of Kara Zor-El is struck with another loss of family. The end of the first season is her fighting against those that she would have once called her people. She is still Kryptonian, but also from Earth. Her place in the world forever turns into a grey area that is a balance from what could have been and where she is now. In the second season, Kara loses Mon-El. What was at the time the longest relationship in her adult life? This wound is reopened when he comes back in a later season. Then came Reign. Kara is seen as the changing of Earth in many instances. The fight with Reign was the largest battle she had lost at the time. Beaten down to the point of almost dying the weight of protecting the world crashes down on her again. Though she wins in the end that fight is something that has to have some kind of last effects.
As for season four #RedDaughterDeservedBetter.
The fifth season is just loss after loss. During season 5 Kara is dealing with losing Lena. This loss was crafting from years of mistakes and fear. Even if you are not a Supercorp shipper you can see the pain that losing Lena causes Kara. Then Crisis happens. The city of Argo was a small band-aid on the hole that Krypton is deleted from existence. From there Earth-38 is quick to follow in its path. Let me just highlight that again. The last piece of her homeworld and the home she has come to love are both completely destroyed from existence. The devastation is set aside though in hopes to protect Earth 1 where the other Heroes come from. Once again she has failed though and loses again another home.
The creation of Earth-Prime is beautiful and devastating at the same time. All her hard work as a hero is cleaned from history. This Earth will never remember Astra trying to take over the world. Yes, Argo is recreated, but it is no longer HER Argo, but a mirror reflection. This world doesn't remember the Daxam invasion. This Earth doesn't remember all the times that Kara has put her life on the line, has almost died trying to protect it.
Kara has lost so much and the creation of Earth-Prime throws it in her face that it was almost for nothing. There is a clear distinction between those that remember Crisis and those that don't. I wonder how that will play out in a relationship for those that remember. To have to explain what they have been through, only for it to be cased off as a bad dream from another time.
These are some of the greatest tragedies not spoken about due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
#kara zor el#lena luthor#COIE#crisis on infinite earths#abuse#growth#thinking a bit too much#all the work done for nothing#earth 38 heroes got screwed over#excuse this I have had a glass of wine or two#was left alone to think for too long#do I even tag Mon-el?#I think tagging supercorp is off to#im a shipper but this is more of a character reflection things

Unquantifiable
by ComeAlongDoctor
Myx had been wrong, in every iteration of the multiverse he had been wrong. She couldn’t save Lena. No matter how many Earth's she went to, no matter how hard she tried-the Paragon of Hope always lost. This was the last Earth left to look, the last Lena left to save, after this there were no more. Earth Prime was her last chance.
