DA: Veilguard characters the muses would get along with best:

OOC: Please note: This assumes that my muses meet the Veilguard characters post-Bravely Second because there's no way some of said muses would get along with them otherwise pre-Bravely Second XD

Also, I'm still looking up Veilguard spoilers, and just because I only listed some companions below per muse doesn't mean that it's impossible for my muses to get along with the companions not listed - i just think these are the ones that'll be easiest to gel together fast.

Geist:

Emmrich - Yeah, a necromancer with a skeletal assistant meeting the man who can quite literally "undo" death is going to be interesting. Emmrich probably wouldn't agree with Geist's sadism and tendency to torture, nor would he enjoy Geist's preference for appearing bloody-looking, but aside from that they could have some great philosophical discussions about life and death, and mortality. Also, Emmrich's assistant Manfred and Geist's son Revenant would get along. XD

Lucanis/Spite: Given the whole thing with Spite + Lucanis going on, Geist would be happy to offer exorcising Spite out of Lucanis if Lucanis really wanted that to happen. On the flipside, should Spite remain attached to Lucanis, Geist would find it interesting to study both...

Neve: Given her investigating so many mysteries, Geist would be all-in to help her if it's a murder case.

Kamiizumi:

Neve: With Neve on the lookout for clues and using her smarts to solve a mystery, Kamiizumi would be interested in joining her.

Harding: Kamiizumi admires Harding's sense of duty and though he has no magical experience, he has worked with magical people so he might be able to support her as she works with her new abilities.

Davrin: Davrin has a gryphon. Kamiizumi has a cat. As fellow pet owners, hopefully said pets get along.

Emmrich: Kamiizumi would think that Emmrich reminds him of Geist (save for a few key differences) given his work with the dead. Speaking of bringing people to life, Kamiizumi might also ask him about a certain life-and-death scenario he went through a while back...

Taash: Gonna be honest - Taash reminds Kamiizumi of Edea and Praline, except they're potentially just as (or more) stubborn as Edea. Kamiizumi has to exercise patience with Taash at times, but they can both work together to fight whatever common enemy they have.

Fiore:

Emmrich - Necromancer meets Red Mage. As an adjunct professor from Al Khampis I'm sure Fiore would love to speak with Emmrich over academic pursuits, even though they study very different topics.

Lucanis/Spite: Okay, yeah, a demon being stuck to someone will absolutely fascinate Fiore on an academic level. He will try to commnicate with Spite. Whether it's successful is another question - and whether it annoys the hell out of Lucanis is another.

Neve: After a failed attempt or two to flirt with her, Fiore will probably throw that aside to look deep into whatever mysteries they unfold together. Fiore likes lore, he's a man that enjoys doing research, and that's going to be handy for Neve.

Janne:

Bellara: "Veil jumping? Sounds cool. How does that work?" That's going to be Janne's first question when he meets her. Janne likes having a thrill and Bellara's adventures do just that, so that'll be fun.

Neve: Two people looking for clues that lead to the truth - yeah, they'll bond on that alone.

Taash: Either Taash and Janne will like hanging out with each other or they will HATE being near each other. Both are stubborn as heck and it'll be a benefit and backfire on them in various situations.

Geist, Janne + Eidolon like chocolate.

Jerome likes strawberry, which is weird because he liked lime before he died. He attributes this to being a small side-effect of him being resurrected affecting his tastebuds.

None of them have dessert after dinner every night - it's saved for special occasions like spending time with loved ones or seeing friends.

Nothing beats a great slice of cake in Eidolon's opinion.

Jerome prefers strawberry shortcake out of all cakes, but any desserts involving fruits (like tarts) are good in his book.

Geist likes chocolate tarts and cakes, but he also enjoys a good brownie or two.

Janne likes chocolate bars because they're easy to grab as a quick dessert? of sorts? but he now tries getting chocolate-chip cookies.

There were other things that people were unaware of when it came to Marcie–her magical blood, why her son kept claiming to see her long after she passed away, and the cookies that never seemed to stay in the cookie jar when Daniel was around. See, none of the family could have known that Marcie had decided to stick around, even in her death. She couldn’t leave her boy to fend off the world by himself, even with her husband still there to care for him. Little could she have known that her haunting of the family would do more harm than good.

★ Daniel spent years in and out of hospitals. No one believes a child when they’re convinced they see their dead parent. Stress. A psychotic disorder. Whatever it was, none of it was ever the truth. Marcie Geist was still very much a part of her son’s life, and her cold touch was as much of a gift as it was a burden. Rumors in the neighborhood went around quickly, about the boy who spoke to ghosts, and the mother that never really died. Daniel’s father did his best to shield his son. To get him the help he needed. To get him to stop staring at the place where his wife used to always love to sit. But nothing could be done. No help was found. Just a letter. His son wasn’t insane after all. There were answers. Daniel was a Wizard, born with an inherent ability to see ghosts, to see people who were not ready to pass on, and who were very much content with living half lives. At 14, Daniel still didn’t feel normal, but as soon as he started up school with people like him, the ghosts continued to appear, only this time, other people could see them, too.

★Daniel has spent a shocking, and perhaps uncomfortably long time around ghosts. He finds out their stories, he listens to them speak, he brings a blanket around to shield himself from their unnatural coldness. In this, he found a desire to understand. To figure out a way, not to bring his mother back, but to send all ghosts to the place where they truly belong. Thus, his road was set. Magical Theory became his passion, his pursuit, and much of his free time was spent fraternizing with ghosts, much to the chagrin of many people who stayed away, and for good reason.

★ If you could call his relationship with ghosts cordial, most of his friendships with the living were shaky at best. Daniel has a shyness to him, an inability to connect that most commonly rears its head in the form of frustration. Most would chalk it up to trauma, and he’d probably agree. Not many people can claim they were raised by a ghost.

just rewatched the red/white/black/yellow trailers and like...god. what can compare

red trailer was short but so fucking good. ruby’s versatile use of her weapon is fucking STUNNING, absolutely love the way she used the kickback from firing it to accelerate in different directions. dope as shit

the grimm looked hilariously wack, not even close to how they look now. idk i found that funny

love the constant use of petals, everywhere. not just for the red trailer but for all of them. ALSO the delightfully subtle usages of ruby’s semblance... love that

for some reason i felt like ruby’s eyes looked... more silver? in the red trailer? at least compared to the series... it’s definitely partly because of the art style change, of course, but idk

ruby has so many fuckin crosses on her outfit for a girl in a story that doesn’t have christianity... that, and the way she put her scythe in Sword Mode for the final attack in the red trailer, make me feel Emotions abt her and qrow... she rlly like imitates him so closely cause she admires him and looks up to him so much.....OUGH

weiss...i still find it weird that her actual VA doesn’t do any of her singing bits, i remember it being ESPECIALLY noticeable in volume 4, once we’ve heard her speak for like, fuckin, 3 and a half entire seasons. idk

the mirror transition between Weiss singing and starting the fight against the armor... that FUCKED

seeing the glyphs was dope, though idk how she fought the giant suit of armor..was it posesses by like a geist grimm or something?

the goddamn lighting during the singing shots halfway through the white trailer... literally that was SO cool. something abt it blew me away

also i also completely forgot that the scars around her eye are two different scars? do we know how she got the one under her eye?

building on that: i absolutely LOVE how the first theme they remix in the yellow trailer is ruby’s bc then you immediately associate yang with ruby — aside from it making sense cause ruby was the first and is the leader, it makes a bunch more sense given she and yang are like, y’know, sisters, and we should associate them strongly right off the bat. definitely a thread made stronger by ruby showing up at the end of the trailer — that’s both when we first hear her speak, and when we’re immediately told that she and yang are sisters. not to mention it’s the only time in any of the trailers that one of the other title girls shows up

Please note: This list assumes that my muses are meeting wiith the Inquisition people post-Bravely Default and post-Bravely Second, or else there'd be NO way that Fiore and Geist would be able to get along with honestly anyone XD

Janne:

Cole - Both are fast and efficient in battle, Cole with his daggers and Janne with his fencing skills. Janne needs some time to get over the weirdness of Cole just popping in and out of the place and so on, but recognizes that the other means well and just wants to help.

Iron Bull - Fighting buddies. Also, Janne would fully support Bull going full Tal-Vashoth (as Janne would probably have a LOT of questions about the Qun).

Varric - Varric seems like a guy that has a ton of info and Janne is always seeking answers, so this would work out okay. Janne will absolutely suck at playing Wicked Grace though, so he never plays.

Sera - Janne would appreciate her worldview to an extent I think, and her honesty.

Kamiizumi:

Josephine - Josephine is a resourceful individual and Kamiizumi fully respects that. I also feel like both would end up gossiping about each other's companions and other things happening about them, and sometimes you need a friend for that.

Leilana - As Kamiizumi has experience working in the shadows, he and Leilana are bound to get along at least in terms of a working relationship. Kamiizumi's military expertise combined with Leilana's own knowledge and secrets will make them a great collaboration.

Cassandra - Kamiizumi can relate to her sense of responsibility and so on

Iron Bull - Kamiizumi likely won't partake in drink when hanging out with the Iron Bull, but spars? Heck yes. Go for it. Also, the Chargers would remind Kamiizumi of his own Black Blades back in Luxendarc. (And yes, Kamiizumi wouild probably support Bull going Tal-Vashoth vs. staying loyal to the Qun - Kamiizumi knows from firsthand experience that unquestioned obedience can have a price).

Blackwall - The sense of duty that comes with being a Grey Warden would intrigue Kamiizumi, make him ask Blackwall more about it...and then Kamiizumi's stunned when he finds out the truth about Blackwall and would try to encourage him to be on a more redemptive path.

Cullen - Kamiizumi has his concerns about Cullen's experiences with lyrium, especially if the latter ends up going back on it. Both have been through some rough war stuff, they could probably bond over that.

Geist:

Dorian - As fellow magic users who have very much have picked faults with the environments they were raised in (Geist with the Crystal Orthodoxy, Dorian with Tevinter), both would have a lot to relate to and gripe about together while still hoping and working toward some kind of redemption for said places.

Sera - Sera's blunt honesty is something Geist would appreciate, very much so.

Solas - Fellow magic users. Both have done some unorthodox things. Assuming Geist can put aside his sadism and torture long enough, he and Solas might actually get along to an extent.

Cole - Geist is confused about what Cole is, exactly, but hey, it could be interesting to interact with a spirit....human...demon?

Cassandra - Either they will get along or they will semi-hate each other at first, purely because of how unpredictable Geist can be. However, once they get to know each other, they could have some interesting conversations...

Fiore:

Dorian - Fellow magic users? Check. Tend to be on the fancy side? Check. Both tend to ambitious and push for certain outcomes with varying degrees of success.

Iron Bull - Drinking buddies, absolutely. They can talk of past battles and other interesting experiences.

Solas(?) - Okay, either these two will get along or they will HATE each other. There is very little chance of an inbetween. However, purely academically, Fiore would be interested to know what Solas knows about the Fade and so on.

Vivienne - Social manipulation to reach the top? They have that in common. They might try to achieve it a little differently, but hey, the power of connections can be strong.

OOC: I have way too much fun imagining scenarios of Janne, Geist, DeRosa, and Kamiizumi being forced to work together for some reason because the banter between them gets funny and varied XD

Janne or Kamiizumi share the roles of being "the only sane man" while Geist is, well Geist (as in ready to murder someone if needed) and DeRosa is either bemoaning whatever task lies ahead or he's in flirt mode with at least half the people he meets. XD

Janne: Not really 'share,' more like we switch betweeen which one of us gets to groan about everything while the other is the only sane guy

Kamiizumi: Agreed.

Headcanon that even by post-Bravely Second, Geist still calls and/or references Denys Geneolgia as “Your/His Majesty” because he’s gotten so used to it. It’s a force of habit that Geist hasn’t exactly broken, but if Denys (assuming he survived the events of Second) ever told him to try to stop it, Geist would try...with varying results.

Janne and Geist could also similarly wear leather jackets too.
