Moe Bandy Celebrates 40th Anniversary Of “Let’s Get Over Them Together” With Becky Hobbs
Award-winning country music legend, Moe Bandy is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Top 10 duet with Becky Hobbs, “Let’s Get Over Them Together.” Written by Charlie Craig and Keith Stegall, “Let’s Get Over Them Together” became Bandy’s 16th Top 10 hit and continues to be a fan favorite. Bandy was recently inducted into the Class of 2023 of The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame along with The Texas Ranger Division of the Department of Public Safety, San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Cleo Hearn, and Boots O’Neal. Bandy, was a proud competitor in bull riding prior to pursuing country music full-time. He now joins the ranks of Willie Nelson, George Strait, Red Steagall, Lyle Lovett, Clay Walker, Robert Earl Keen, Aaron Watson, and Bob Wills who have all received this prestigious honor.
“This was such an exciting time in my life and career that I will never forget,” shares Bandy. “I was on the road and recording nonstop, which is what I had always dreamed of. When I heard Becky Hobbs for the first time, I knew she was destined for great things! When we went into the studio and recorded “Let’s Get Over Them Together,” it was clear this would be a single. We had a great run with it and hope you are still enjoying it today!”
“I met Moe when I opened for him at the Coffeyville, Kansas Fair & Rodeo,” shares Becky Hobbs. “After the show, he was very complimentary and said, “If you had a hit record, you’d be dangerous!” He asked me if I’d be interested in doing a duet, and the rest is history. Moe is genuinely one of the nicest people on the planet, a heckuva singer/entertainer, and a forever friend.”
Bandy recently released his new album, ‘Thank You Lord.’ Delivering a heartfelt project, Bandy recorded twelve heartfelt tracks and features special guests The Isaacs on “Family Bible” and The Oak Ridge Boys with Nora Lee Allen on “The Lord Is My Shepherd.” The title track, written by Mo Pitney, Bobby Tomberlin, and Cheryl Riddle offers a true reflection of where Bandy is in his life today, of which he is thankful for another mile, another day, and a life many could have only dreamed of. ‘Thank You Lord’ features tunes from prominent Nashville songwriters including Willie Nelson, Bill Anderson, Hank Williams, and more! The twelve-track project was produced by Michele Voan Capps and sponsored by Gus Arrendale and Springer Mountain Farms and is available on all streaming platforms now!

“We all try to live life to the fullest and with purpose,” shares Bandy. “When you get to a certain place in your life, you reflect on your past. We have all made mistakes and decisions that we may regret, but you have to look at the positives. God has been so good to me. He has given my family blessings that I never dreamed were even possible. I am so thankful to Him and wanted this album to fully reflect my faith in God. A special thanks to Gus Arrendale and Springer Mountain Farms for their continued support and for making this album a reality.”

About Moe Bandy:
Moe Bandy’s country music accomplishments are many, including ten No. 1 hit songs, many Top Ten hits, five Gold records, and numerous ACM and CMA Awards. He started his recording career while he was a sheet metal worker in San Antonio, Texas, but after a decade of hard labor, Bandy traded his sheet metal for Gold albums. In the mid-seventies when the country pop Kenny Rogers, John Denver and the outlaw sound of Waylon and Willie was all the rage, along came the traditionalist Moe Bandy.
Bandy recently penned an autobiography, Moe Bandy: Lucky Me, available for purchase now at moebandybook.com.

Scruff's Top 5 - Poppema Wedding/ Janssen Wedding
This past week was awesome, two more weddings in the books for the season. The 2019 season is almost over but that doesn't mean the work stops. Over the weekend I had the chance to see the end of an era and the start of a new chapter. I Traveled to a new location and made some connections with new vendors, this journey never ceases to amaze me. 10 years down and years more to come, i'm still learning, growing, curating my craft as an entertainer. Friday night I made my way to the Sheldon Crossroads Pavillion for the Hoekstra/Poppema wedding. Now, before I continue on the night's activities I must bring up that I had already done a combined 5 weddings between the two families. For the Hoekstra's I had celebrated all four of their boys tying the knot, and with the Poppema family I had did the groom's dad's wedding a few summers ago. So this night was truly a special one for me. I knew 90% of all the guests and after all this time it felt more like a family reunion instead of a wedding, and I was the distant cousin that came to bring the party to life. Kenli is Ken and Robbi Hoekstra's final child, the baby of them all and the only girl. She wore her grandmother's wedding dress, a 60 year old heirloom, brothers in her wedding party, parents married for over 20 years, her roots run deep of love. Dalton a man of ambition and strong parents for role models. A man that had to impress a father and four brothers to get to this point. Growing from just a childhood friend, to boyfriend, fiancé, and now a husband. You can tell he has the will to overcome any obstacle, these two were made to be together and it shows. The host and hostess Steve and Vonda took the reigns for the evening: dismissing tables for the meal, playing the shoe game, scavenger hunt, and being the master of ceremonies. It was different for me to sit in the backseat and just wait for the dance to get started. I did take some notes and watch how they interacted with the guests, there is always room for improvement and if something worked I wanna incorporate it. After the games, speeches, and special dances it was time for me to go to work. I played everything from the 80's to today's hits, doing my best to reach each generation and genre in the process. We had a great dancing and singing, but the real honor was watch the final chapter unfold. This was my last Hoekstra/Poppema wedding, no more kids to watch do their first dances for at least another 20 years, no more daddy daughter, mother son, it was surreal. Joy fills my heart knowing that I had the chance to celebrate with the two families, this is something money could never buy, this is one of the reasons why I do what I do. Saturday night I made my way to Gilmore City, IA. 20 miles south of Pocahontas to celebrate with Behrendsen and Janssen family on the union of Brittany and Colten. I was really worried about the settings of the reception, it had been raining off and on the whole day and the reception was to be held in a 100 by 40 ft. tent. Upon arrival I was put to ease when everything in the tent especially the ground was dry. The place was decorated quite nicely with white linens and candles, after setting up my equipment I helped light those candles and got ready for the guests to arrive. I was expecting a party with an open bar provided by the bride and groom, and the soft serve ice cream station for dessert. It seemed that these guys had all their bases covered for youthfulness and lots of folly. After a wholesome dinner, and heart filled speeches from the wedding party and the brides father it was time to get down. Brittany and Colten's first dance was sung by the bride's grandfather and brother, bringing this close to heart. After the rest of the special dances we continued the night with the bridal party dancing to The Git Up, and the groom doing the worm across the dance floor. We partied until around 1130 and I can say the floor was never empty. From the Shania Twain hits all the way to DaBaby and G-eazy, there was a group of people of the floor showing the world what they had. I had a few people inquire about some dates next year before packing up and making the 1.5 hour drive home. It was definitely a long weekend but one that was full of fun and laughter. I can't wait for my next set of weddings and events, let's keep em coming.

Green Mountain Stats
Trail length: 5.3 miles
Elevation gain: 2,346 ft
Weather: around 70F in and 80F out. Very smokey due to fires in the west
I live about a mile from the Green Mountain/Chautauqua Park trail head so I walked up there. Not a lot of people on the trail at 6-7am past the Amphitheater Trail. Sorta took the long way to get the real hike because I’m used to taking another route.
Couldn’t set up camp at the exact top of the mountain, there was some sort of ROTC training going on there. Made a spot for myself about 30yds from summit and broke out the radio. Took a few minutes on 2m (146.52) but got a few people on. One was very clear, N0MTN who was very nice and got a few friends to help me activate. After about 30 minutes of trying, I hit my 4 spotters. I didn’t have the best signal a) probably because of the horrible HT radio and b) I was pointed a bit more south than north so the people near Boulder probably couldn’t hear me.
Regardless, I’m hooked. Had a blast climbing that big hill and even more fun talking to people from on top of it.
Goals for upcoming SOTA’s:
Learn CW and pack a smaller QRP radio.
I could use a small runner vest I think. Really pack light.
Would love to get my dog, Nora, on my next activation.
73,

Roam Bike Fest Sedona Recap
Roam Bike Fest is a three-day party celebrating women within the cycling community bringing high energy and positivity to keep the good times rolling. Hosted in Sedona, Arizona on November 8-10, BikeFlights.com was in attendance to see first-hand how it has become “The Biggest Womxn’s MTB Festival on the Planet.”
Support Team Manager, Cynthia Frazier, joined the fun and immersed herself into the weekend’s events which included far more than just bike rides. For three days, Roam Bike Fest hosts over 50 group rides, shuttles to/from trail heads, demos, educational clinics, food, happy hour, a dance party and good vibes. After the weekend concluded, we sat down with Cynthia to discuss her experiences at Roam Bike Fest.
Q: For those who don't know you, briefly, what is your role within BikeFlights.com and background in cycling?
I am a Support Team Manager at BikeFlights.com. I came to cycling from a running background into road and criterium racing at the top level in the U.S. During that time I found my love for cycling on the dirt and have been racing gravel and riding mountain bikes since 2015.
Q: Roam Bike Fest in Sedona, Arizona is an adventure packed demo and expo event celebrating growth of women’s involvement in the sport. In what ways did this event promote this growth throughout the weekend?
To start there were over 10 group rides hosted by vendors and led by Roam Fest guides. Women helping women! The opportunities to celebrate and bring together women were around every corner with activities such as a Rockshox suspension demo, how to pack your bike for shipping clinic and group yoga.
Q: How would you describe Sedona to someone who has never visited? What stood out?
The view never ends. The red rock is seen for miles and jets out of the ground around ever turn. The thing that blew my mind the most though is that arriving from the East, you drop 2,000 ft from high mountain desert in Flagstaff through a canyon into Sedona.
Q: BikeFlights.com, and other attending companies, hosted group rides throughout the weekend. How would you describe the camaraderie among the groups?
The group rides was the best way to build a welcoming atmosphere. The groups bonded and women made long time friends! After the ride, my new friends would stop by our BikeFlights.com tent just to hang out. It was a great way to build a friendship in a short amount of time. It's like summer camp.
Q: What was your favorite trail that you rode in Sedona? What made it great?
Slim Shady was probably my favorite! The technical rocky uphigh sections were my cup of tea and made for some good skills practice! Mescal and Chicken point were pretty neat as well. Both trails were on rock for most of the time, creating a unique experience for an East Coast gal.
Q: There were many other activities hosted throughout the weekend including a “happiest hour,” SHREDtalks and a dance party. How did these activities add to the weekend? Was there a specific event that you enjoyed most?
The Happiest Hour was a good opportunity to see what kind of creativity other vendors had! From prickly pear lemonade to bourbon & coke, the options were abundant. Wheelie Creative was there and did a short piece on addressing “The Elephant in the Room.” It was a good, inspiring talk from an inspiring creative agency started by a woman!
Q: Looking back on the weekend, what would you say to women who are considering attending Roam Bike Fest in the future? Any last thoughts about the weekend that you'd like to highlight?
Roam Bike Fest is like summer camp for grown women. The memories, cocktails, and shredding that you'll never forget. It's the friends you'll see at the next Roam Fest! I met a friend named Nora who was sharing an airbnb with Linda. They met at the last Roam Fest and have been friends since!
Roam Bike Fest is for everyone. There are professional enduro and downhill riders, and there are women just getting into the sport. Everyone is welcome and that's what make Roam special.
Q: Roam Bike Fest returns May 1-3, 2020 in Brevard, North Carolina. Will we see you there?
You bet your bottom dollar I'll be in Brevard! I decided after being at Roam Sedona for about 10 minutes.
A group takes a moment in the shade to hydrate during one of the many rides hosted each day.
Women from around the world descend on Sedona with the intention to ride world-class trails among friends.
Nestled among mountains, Red Agave Resort played host to the weekend’s activities.
Views from atop Hiline Trail are endless and provides a lay of the trail as riders drop in to an epic downhill.
SHREDtalks provide an inspiring panel discussion with a collective of industry influencers, professional riders and adventurous shredders.
Trails around Sedona are well marked and provide easy navigation to new riders. We found Slim Shady and Hiline among our favorites.

Visiting the Mooney family
From the April 1976 issue of Flying magazine:
“HOT DAMN! I done bought myself an airplane! A used Mooney. A hangar queen. It had 700 hours; it was seven years old. I bought all that trouble and glory. My own flying machine. After having the airplane crazies since I was a kid and renting airplanes for 20 years thinking I couldn’t own one, my Diane cut me loose for it.
“Go on, it’s only money. You’re 50 years old and you got about 20 good, juicy summers left. When they pat you in the face with that shovel, you can’t come back and wish you’d bought an airplane. Airplanes have always been so much of your life. Go on, enjoy, enjoy!”
And so, with help from the Internet, I retrieved this article from Flying magazine, and read again one of Gordon Baxter’s most inspiring articles: the purchase of his beloved Mooney Ranger. I first read this story in 1976 and the memory of it has been with me for many, many years. Even though I am the owner of a Piper Archer, I have always had a thing for Mooneys and the people who build them.
Life sometimes takes you to places you never expect to be, and I recently found myself in Bandera, riding a horse at the Mayan Dude Ranch as part of a family visit to San Antonio. It didn’t take me long to realize that I was only 25 miles from Kerrville, Texas, the home of Mooney, and so many stories.
A distinctive design – and company.
I was given a hall pass the next day, drove to Kerrville, and turned on to Al Mooney Road. I parked myself in front of the guard shack with the intent of visiting the place. I was greeted warmly by Mike, the security guard, and told him that I wanted to learn more about the people of Mooney, and would attempt to write a story about the Mooney family. He appreciated my efforts, but told me that tours were not available during the time of my visit. He was gracious enough to provide the business card of their employee relations manager, Devan Burns, gave me a 70-year Mooney Anniversary Sticker, and encouraged me to visit next time I was in the area. Mike is a class act!
Anytime I see a quality product or company that has been around for a long time, I know there are quality people that make it happen. Usually these folks have persevered through tough times, supported each other, and dedicate themselves to producing the best quality product or service year after year. I was convinced the reason Mooney is still around would be the people, and I wanted to see this for myself. Yes, it’s a powerful airplane, but powerful people had to be the reason they’ve survived, I hoped.
I left Mooney that first day knowing that I had tried, but realistically knowing that last-minute requests have little chance of success. Before I left the parking lot, however, I wrote a note on my iPad to Devan, asking if I might be able to come back the next day and interview a few of the Mooney people who make it happen. I never expected a reply. After all, it was late Thursday afternoon and we were leaving Saturday morning. Quite frankly, I felt a bit foolish even asking.
So, I was very surprised to receive a response on Friday morning saying if I could be in Kerrville by 1:30 pm on Friday, Devan would arrange for a tour of the plant, followed by a visit with her before I left. I couldn’t believe it, and was granted another hall pass by “you know who” to make the trip.
So, please bear with me as I tell you about the fascinating people I met on a Friday afternoon in February at the Mooney plant.
Larry “The Rain Man” Jacoby was my host for the day. Larry was first employed by Mooney in 1978 at the height of the 201 production. He is known as “The Rain Man” because of his extraordinary recall of part numbers and their locations in the plant, where he now works in receiving. He has been employed four different times by Mooney, and continues to be a dedicated employee.
The first stop on my Mooney adventure was the completion center, where a beautiful Acclaim Ultra was receiving the finishing touches before delivery to a customer. New airplanes make for pretty pictures, but seeing a brand new one in person is a totally different experience. The beautiful color scheme, the smell of a fresh leather interior, plus the feeling of extreme speed, are unmistakable. I know that, as pilots, we look at performance specifications, mission profiles, etc. when we make airplane decisions, but I’m convinced that pure emotion has a great deal to do with it.
The next stop was the welding shop. Next time you look in the engine compartment of most Mooneys, think of Rick Heimann. Rick has worked for Mooney for 41 years, and welds the steel engine supports along with his partner, Earl Sevey, who has been with Mooney twice, the first time for four years, and the second time for seven. These folks just don’t give up. Rick has worked on the early C and E Model Mooneys, and was welding the engine support for a new Acclaim while I was there. It was the beginning of a fascinating day.
Many employees at Mooney have been with the company for decades.
Mooney makes nearly everything on site. My next stop was the machine shop and hammer house, where metal is molded into airplane parts by huge hydraulic presses that tower above. I met Sonny Hutchinson, who took me through the formation of the wing primary skins. Think of Sonny and his crew next time you see the flush-riveted leading edge of a new Mooney Ovation. I saw complete wing spars, wing ribs, and bulkheads, all freshly manufactured.
The new Mooney management has invested heavily in modern equipment. In the lay-up room, I met Mike Feller, Debbie Weise, and Julie Meador. Although Mike has been with Mooney over 40 years, he and his team adapted to a new vacuum-assisted digital lay-up process for composite parts that eliminated hand shears that have been used for years for laying up fiberglass parts. Debbie’s daughter, Shana, works for Mooney as well. So many families had their start at Mooney: Husbands and wives first met and went on to have families who all have worked for Mooney. It is a family experience here.
In the shear room, I saw how dedicated Mooney is to continuing their commitment to strong airframes made of metal. Their new Flow ultra-high pressure cutting machine uses 53,000 lbs. of water pressure to cut digitally guided designs in thick metal parts, without burrs and additional finishing. Larry Jacoby started in this room in 1978, when the 201s were first being built.
The wing makes a Mooney special, and seeing the entire one-piece wing on a jig in the sub-assembly room was something to behold. I thought I was watching a fighter being built. Next time you see a photo of a new Mooney, think of Clifton Leda and his team, who sealed the fuel tanks and assembled the interior of the wing. The care being taken to make this airplane first class is extraordinary.
I had a special introduction to Lucy Hernandez and Nora Havran in the upholstery shop, who make the custom upholstery for the sturdy seats now found in the new Ovation and Acclaim. They are extraordinary people who take extraordinary care installing customer-chosen leather on sturdy seat frames made totally in-house at Mooney.
My final stop was seeing a new Continental engine being mounted on an Acclaim going to a lucky buyer.
One can’t help noticing the second door that is part of every Mooney now being manufactured. I wonder what Gordon Baxter would have thought of the second door on a new Mooney. Would he buy a new one? I’d expect he’d probably hang on to his old Ranger.
I remember the picture showing 30 workers standing on the wing of a Mooney. Will any of the readers remember their names?
Yes, the wing is strong, but the people who make them are extraordinary. I feel so fortunate that I had a chance to meet them.
Whatever airplane you choose to buy, I’d recommend that you meet the people who build them. It would be good to know that they have your back when flying at 20,000 ft.
Excuse me, I meant to say 25,000 feet, if you’re flying a Mooney Acclaim Ultra!

(This character is part of a four-member ensemble cast in a fantasy world of mixed mythology I haven’t named yet. Three of them go on a road trip as childhood friends where some secrets are exposed that effects not their relationships, but their perception of the world. The novel I’m writing it for is going to have a nonlinear narrative jumping to various moments in time as they progress on their trip. Please tell me all the pros and cons to my characters. Drag them if necessary if they fall into any stereotypes since they’re all witches of color. I’m all ears.)
Name: Niyosha Kan (she/her/hers)
Female, Age 33 , Height 8”9
Aliases/ Nicknames: “Freckled-face giant” (Fallon, Nora) “Ms. Kan” (coworkers) “Nini” (Lanique, family) ”Jill/Ana/Bob” (other associates)
Relationship Status/Significant Other: single/none
Occupation: Top chemist at Brewer Institute
Skills: psychometry, witchcraft (potions and charms), shady deals
Current Goal: to have a great vacation on a road trip with her two best friends
Appearance: Being a half-giant, Niyosha is the tallest of her closest friends. She’s a skinny woman with a tawny brown complexion. Her round face is covered with freckles and her dark eyes are framed by thin, wired red glasses above a narrow nose and painted, thin lips. She usually keeps her straight russet brown hair in a messy bun filled with pins. It irks her to no end that this is the only hairstyle she can maintain without the usage of various gels and spells. And even then, the style will only last for about an hour. At work, she can be found in her lab coat in a simple blouse and jeans, slouching over her desk filled with papers and chemicals working on her latest potion when the boss is around. Outside of that, she spends time with a string of associates in the latest fashion paired with her favorite heels. One accessory that never changes on her are two golden bracelets that jingle on both wrists.
Personality: Nosy, noisy, laid back and flirty. She is impulsive and prideful in her body and roots. She hates being looked down upon (figuratively and literally) and will curse anyone who dare insult her or any of her friends in a way she can’t handle.
Backstory: This is a long one. I don’t even know how to start.
As stated before, Niyosha is a half-giant. Like humans, giants are not homogenous. They vary across the world and have their own culture and style separated by tribe. Each tribe is separated by their ancestor names (based on mythology around the world, whether the giant spoken of was humanoid or not). In Niyosha’s case, her giant tribe is known as the Sai’i based off of Paiute oral history and culture (that I’m still researching. But if you have anyone I can speak to specifically about her characterization, I welcome the intel).
She was born of the union between her human mother and giant father. Both are still alive and well and together. However, they did move several miles away from Sai’i and Niyosha’s mother’s family territory to avoid some of the prejudices they had to deal with. Unions between humans (who avg. between 5 and 6 ft) and giants (avg. between 14 and 20 ft.) aren’t significantly frowned upon these days. But offsprings certainly are. This is because they’re considered toss ups. Either they end up being capable of defying physics like a normal giant with an unconscious ability to center their gravity, or their legs can’t keep up with their weight and they need assistance. If they don’t have this ability, they’re considered a failure thanks to “half-breed genetics”. Which is kind of mess up because full-blooded giants with disabilities exist as well. It’s just that half-giants make up a smaller population in tribes so the statistics look larger in comparison. But I digress.
In Niyosha’s case, she needs assistance with her legs. When she was younger, she used crutches while her parents sought the necessary ingredients to strengthen and stabilize her legs. She was not bullied directly until she turn eight and discover her Gift of psychometry where she accidentally read her relative’s thoughts of her being inferior after a hug. Her self-esteem was nearly crushed and her newly found Gift caused bullying. I can’t go into much detail but she does regain it with time and support. She grows to be a very popular and social individual. She currently has tattoo’d spells across both legs that stabilizes her. They need to be revamped every twelve hours. If she doesn’t have the ingredients to revamp the spell, she uses the enchanted bracelets as temporary crutches or Fallon will carry her with her telekinetic Gift.
Hi! This is Mod D here. There’s a lot of solid information included in Niyosha’s profile, but it would benefit from some reformatting and additional details. Your full review is under the cut!
First off, Niyosha’s general information section could be reformatted to be more clear. Breaking up the clumped up sections like “Female, Age 33 , Height 8”9” and “Relationship Status/Significant Other: single/none” into their own separate categories would make the information a lot smoother to read. The same goes for separating Niyosha’s preferred pronouns from her name. That keeps the specific focus on each individual aspect, rather than listing a bunch of different factors all in one line.
Continuing on, Niyosha has a pretty extensive list of Nicknames that could use trimming. Specifically ‘Ms. Kan’ and ‘Jill/Ana/Bob.’ ‘Ms. Kan’ isn’t really a nickname at all – it’s a respectful form of addressing Niyosha by her last name – and I don’t understand how or why 'Jill/Ana/Bob’ apply to her as fitting nicknames in the first place (if there’s context that makes these appropriate, it needs to be explained later in the profile). 'Nini’ makes sense as a shortening of her given name and a symbol familiarity, and while 'Freckle-faced giant’ is fitting given her appearance/height though it seems a bit too wordy. Nicknames tend to arise from a singular main trait, so condensing that down into just 'Freckle’ or 'Freckles’ would fit the concept a lot better. Beyond that, having a bunch of nicknames for one character makes it difficult to determine who is being addressed. Instead of having to remember the character’s actual name and one or two aliases, readers need to remember five or six different names just for one character which will get them confused (and beyond that, the sheer amount of nicknames will clutter up the writing). Sticking with one primary nickname and possibly a second based on familiarity/individual preference (IE only a specific character/group calls Niyosha a certain nickname/title) keeps things a lot more focused and removes the issue of getting lost when one character addresses another.
I’d also suggest breaking up her Skills section into different categories. 'Psychometry’ would fit better under a Powers/Abilities heading (along with an explanation of what exactly Niyosha’s capabilities and limitations are) while 'shady deals’ seems like more of a Talent. Given Niyosha’s status as a university level chemist, witchcraft (potions and charms) is definite a trained skill, though I’d advise adding more to both the Skills and Talents sections. What other things is she good at? Does she play any instruments or have any artistic interests? To round out this area, you might also add in Hobbies, Likes, and Dislikes. As is I don’t have much of an idea on what Niyosha’s interests are. The Background section mentions that she’s very social and popular, but as is the other sections of her profile don’t really affirm this aspect (aside from the vague mention of Niyosha hanging out with 'associates’ in high fashion). Does she just enjoy fancy clothes, or does she make her own fabrics/dye? What role, if any, do her skills in witchcraft play in Niyosha’s interest in fashion? Does she entertain ideas of modeling, or is it more of a casual interest? Addressing things like these would give more depth to Niyosha’s capabilities.
Regarding Niyosha’s Appearance section, I have no changes to suggest for the details. It’s a really solid description, and I especially like the emphasis on how her outfits change based on who she’s with and where she’s at. As common sense as that might seem, a lot of authors tend to just keep their character in one outfit at all times which A) isn’t realistic and B) adds nothing to that character’s sense of identity. My only suggestion here it to move the Appearance section up higher in the profile, to keep it with the rest of Niyosha’s physical description.
Conversely I think Niyosha’s Personality section could do with some expanding, especially regarding specifics. As is I’ve only gotten a vague overview of who she is. While a Personality section shouldn’t be completely exhaustive of a character’s identity, some more specifics would help round out who she is. For example, the comment that she’s impulsive and prideful in her body and roots’ – what exactly does that mean? I understand the gist of it, but spelling out that Niyosha is proud of her heritage and providing an example of that (is her method of witchcraft very traditional? Are the fancy clothes she wears culturally specific?) would give it that much more presence. On the same note, there’s the mention that Niyosha will curse anyone who insults her friends or herself in 'a way she can’t handle.’ What exactly would that be? What remarks really get under her skin? Beyond that, how exactly does she curse people? What happens to them? It’s perfectly understandable that Niyosha would want to defend her friends and not tolerate mockery, but that’s also a really universal quality that doesn’t add much. Detailing how she handles such situations would give her actually specific qualities rather than leaving things vague.
Niyosha’s Backstory section contains a lot of good information, but I think it could be broken up into separate sections as well. I’d advise keeping the details on her being a half-giant, though they might be under it’s own specific category. While fantasy settings might use similar concepts, each fantasy world has its own unique cultures, histories, and contexts for individual species and having a specific heading that addresses the issues and impacts that being a half-giant has in the context of this universe would help explain what that means for Niyosha. What you’ve included already does that pretty well, though a bit more detail on giant society might help. Regarding Niyosha’s personal Backstory, I think there are some additional areas that could be covered. In particular her upbringing and her time at the Brewer Institute. As is I’ve only got a vague overview of her personal history and next to no context for Niyosha’s change from having extreme self-esteem issues to being social and popular. Stating that you’re ‘unable to go into detail’ runs counter to the point of a profile – it’s supposed to explain things like that. Detailing out Niyosha’s childhood, what brought her out of her shell (was it meeting her friends? A supportive family member? A teacher?), and how she gets along at the Brewer Institute would do a lot more to cement these factors as actual things that have shaped her life rather than just coming across as just a list of events.
Lastly, I’d suggest adding in a Relationships section. Given the nature of the story (a road trip among four friends) the specific contexts of their different relationships will be paramount to the narrative, and as is I know practically nothing about how Niyosha gets along with any of her friends. The only detail the profile gives me is that Fallon occasionally carries her with telekinesis when Niyosha needs the help. I don’t know anything about what they have in common, how they’re different, how they met, or how close Niyosha is to any of them in relation to her. I also know nothing about these unnamed 'associates’ that Niyosha hangs out with. Who are they? What do they do? How did Niyosha meet them? Similarly, the person she used her powers on and destroyed her self-esteem is just left as 'her relative.’ That would have a massive impact on her relationship with this family member. Who was it? From which side of the family (giant or human) did it come from? Did she ever trust this person again, or ever even talk with them about this? Context gives relationships actual impact, and so far the profile doesn’t really add much to Niyosha’s.
All in all, I think you’ve got a strong base here with Niyosha and the majority of the included details are good – they just need to be expanded upon further. Especially in-regards to adding in context clues. While general comments are great to get the broad gist across specifics are what make a character, well, specific.
I hope this helps!

( ready, set, @phantomiic! )
miles loved surprises. what he loved more, however, was surprising others. and while he wasn’t entirely sure that nora would appreciate his unannounced presence at her extra training for the day, he had a feeling she’d still be happy to see him. or, at least, he hoped she would.
unfortunately for the boy, she isn’t even there. weird, he thinks. he swears she told him that’s where she’d be every afternoon this week. he looks around, even asks one of the other girls if nora was just taking a break or something... she didn’t show up at all today.
the mutant takes his phone out, rapidly texting the girl with: ‘WRU UR NOT AT TRAINING U SAID U’D BE HERE’. with the text is a selfie of him looking far from pleased. it’s aggressive but effective. kind of. maybe. not quite. he doesn’t really know.
just as he sends the text, though, he receives a call from dee. “a robbery? on my way.” off he goes, zooming straight to the destination.

arrest ( nora & miles ) :)
- ̗̀ one word prompts. ̖́-
status: accepting!
arrest : your muse finds my muse arrested in cuffs with swarming police everywhere.
sometimes, miles isn’t as fast as he wants to be. he doesn’t get to go as quickly as he NEEDS to be. and these times often become more troubling than one might think.
his phone rings and rings in his gym bag sitting on a bench in the dug out as he sprints across the track at a much more normal speed just to make it seem like he’s human, and he wins, of course, but at a price. because when he makes it back to his things ( which had been completely ignored by his coach who’d been too concentrated on the competition ), he finds his phone blown up with a number of missed calls from the other runaways. he calls dee back because he figures she’d have the most information, and he quite literally zooms out of the field and to the scene of the crime to rejoice about the capture of that thief who’d been his worst enemy. but he sees someone he doesn’t expect to see, almost dropping his things when their eyes meet.
the boy is stuck staring at her, his friend, hair a mess after they’d pulled her hood off and he doesn’t really have much to say. trying to take everything in, eyes dart to pinky and nana who he assumed had been the two to take her down then back to the police. he’s afraid to call out her name because that’d only make everything worse. instead, miles finds strength in himself to push through the small crowd of people that had gathered around. hurt and guilt and confusion and anger all pool in his eyes, and he doesn’t even know where to start anymore.
miles is still panting, sweat drying at the corner of his forehead. “so this is why you couldn’t make it to my race?”

💟nora and miles !
- ̗̀ emoji kiss meme. ̖́-

💟 for a kiss on a wound
miles is used to wounds and bruises. he trips a lot ( which kind of sucks because he’s a runner ), and he’s just very clumsy all around. but seeing nora with her hand wrapped up confuses him. if it were from her training, wouldn’t she have told him about it? at least, he expects her to– he tells her about all his little fumbles.
the boy sits next to her on the bench, a mixture of concern and curiosity written all over his face. “you okay?” without another question, he takes her hand, gently bringing it up to his face as if he were examining it. his touch is as light as a feather, and he makes sure that when he places his lips on top of it, he doesn’t put any pressure. “i have no magic healing powers but maybe that’ll make it better.” it probably doesn’t but anything to put a smile on her face.
