REED, KEANU ( @peacereflected ) is a person of interest
THE WAY TERRIBLE PEOPLE WITH HORRID INTENSIONS just seem to gravitate toward her makes her skin crawl. it terrifies her because rayne knows what consequences are to come. she isn't the one paying the price. but the blood is on her hands nonetheless; intentional or not.
heavy darkness thins, like a rolling fog finally beginning to dissipate after rendering sight impossible. she isn't hidden anymore. hands, clothes, face, bag, brickwork in the alley, asphalt—everything is splattered with blood in some capacity. the scene makes it clear she has something to do with it. there's no talking her way out of this.
grabbing the duffle bag off the ground, the brunette backs away from the mutilated corpse of the person who attacked her. a pivot, poised to run and already half in the motion itself, she smacks straight into someone she hasn't heard approach.
fuck.
breath hitches, dark eyes wide with complete terror at having been caught. it doesn't matter what he did or didn't see, there's only one assumption to be made from this situation and it's the right one. she killed someone. again.

Animated Feature: The Spider and the Heron
The nominees are:
The Boy and the Heron
Elemental
Nimona
Robot Dreams
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
This may be one of the most hotly contested categories of the night. Critics have described The Boy and the Heron as Hayao Miyazaki’s magnus opus — a powerful endorsement, given that the Japanese master has been the hand behind masterpieces like Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. That he came out of retirement for this work and spent seven years on it is enough to champion its narrative. The film has already picked up the Golden Globe and the BAFTA.
But Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse may have a broader appeal to Academy voters and has collected some serious silverware of its own this season, namely the Annie, Critics’ Choice, and Producers' Guild awards. The PGA winner typically goes on to win at the Oscars.
Still, I go back and forth on this one. Miyazaki already has an Oscar from 2003, but so does the Spider-Verse series, and in fact, much more recently (2018). But Spider-Verse is a “to-be-continued” film, and the Oscars often tend to reward the final installments in such franchises (à la Lord of the Rings). It really is a toss-up.
For me, Heron represents an auteur animator exhibiting his mastery, presenting a perfected version of what he has done for decades. But Spider-Verse represents a new path forward, growing leaps and bounds even from its first installment, which also forged new pathways in the field of animation.
I have no qualms with any of the other nominees in this category. I admired Elemental for its technical prowess and Nimona for its inclusive themes and undertones. And I have a soft spot Robot Dreams (this year’s version of Marcel the Shell with Shoes On) for its ingenuity and charm. I was surprised not to see some of the more commercial contenders come through, like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, or Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.
Who will win: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
But look out for: The Boy and the Heron
Who I’d vote for: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
If I could add one more: Suzume

what’s your mutant’s ability?
[from HERE] Users are glaringly, obviously, and unnaturally stronger than other humans because their capabilities are pushed beyond the natural level and superior to most supernatural beings in their verse; making them immensely stronger than most.
what’s your mutant’s classification level?
Yaren is an Omega level mutant. [from HERE] Omega-level mutants are what normal humans and government agencies fear. These mutants have such high power levels that they’re considered the most dangerous, capable of wide-scale destruction, and difficult to kill, contain, or take down.
how old were they when they first discovered their abilities? how did it happen?
Twelve years old, and it happened in a lab. Like a good little government agent, Yaren volunteered herself and underwent the agonising pain of experimentations without complaint. Upon it first manifesting, the new power running through her was so overwhelming that she lashed out and broke a table (and a man’s back as she flung him through a wall tehe).
so, what can your mutant do with their abilities?
While simple at first glance, there’s many applications for Yaren’s strength beyond just lifting heavy objects and throwing hefty punches. She can cause earthquakes by striking the ground hard enough. She can jump/leap far beyond the capacity of a human because the strength in her legs allows her to project herself. She can create shockwaves that will knock an opponent down just by clapping. She is highly resistant to pressure and can’t be crushed, smashed, or flattened (though she can still be cut. Sort of the opposite of a diamond in that regard).
…and what can’t they do (at least, not yet)?
Thus far, Yaren has not found an upper limit to her strength. The nice thing about having a straightforward mutation is that it rather does what it says on the tin. She’s never met an object she can’t lift.
what’s one thing they hope to learn or are currently trying to learn with their abilities?
She’s looking for a challenge. Yaren wants to impress Linda and constantly push herself, so she’s always looking for heavier things to lift/stronger challenges to face. Nothing has pushed her limits as of yet, but she knows the limit must exist somewhere. She just needs to find what it is.
what is the most powerful thing your mutant can do with their abilities? do you think they would actually do it?
So, again it’s a simple mutation so in terms of extremely zesty applications, the scope isn’t too great. The most visible/ apparent thing she can do right now is break through the lithosphere with a punch or a stomp. She absolutely does do this. She can also do the usual destruction of buildings, flinging opponents great distances away, etc.
what are your mutant’s weaknesses?
Control. Yaren must always be careful because it’s easy for her strength to get away from her. If she gets distracted or frustrated, items crumble to dust in her fist, and if she gets in a pointless fight there’s a strong chance she’d take their head off their shoulders in one hit. For that reason she doesn’t often drink, do drugs, or have sex. Anything that is likely to break her focus is dangerous, and the last thing she wants to do is jeopardise the Seven by losing control. She’s got a short temper as it is; no sense in adding extra variables to make her more likely to snap.
do they use their abilities in their day-to-day life? in what ways?
Absolutely. It’s hard not to; for several years she was using it at work to uproot trees as easily as a regular person would pick a flower. While she’s not working as a lumberjack any longer, because her power is always ‘on’ she uses it constantly anyway. Particularly going forward, with her role as an Omega, she’ll be using her strength to help the average person in whatever way she can.
as a mutant, do they have any goals? dreams?
[...//CLASSIFIED]
how do they feel about the last 30+ years of mutant history? notably, the presidential address of 1983 and the essex house?

WHUMPVEMBER #22: FRIENDLY FIRE
this was gonna be angst central and then i couldn’t be bothered and decided to be cute instead. anyway, this can follow on from day 21 if you want. it’ll be set somewhere like a year after, but in the same verse. it’s perfectly fine as a standalone, however. AO3
“Are you even aiming for her mouth?” Tony asked, raising an eyebrow at Peter across the table, who was making airplane noises as he tried to feed baby Morgan, giggling in her high seat.
“Yeah,” Peter muttered, despite the mess that was the apple-flavoured baby food across the tray and table. “She’s just not great at holding still – come on, Morgan, there you go!”
Tony smiled at the scene before turning back to his own dinner. Pepper sat next to him, her fingers curled around her wine glass, her bare feet tapping a rhythm out on the floor.
“He’s doing great,” Pepper said, as Morgan wasn’t trying to stick her fist in the bowl. “Yesterday, I was trying to get her to eat breakfast and she picked up the bowl and threw it across the room.” Peter and Tony laughed as she smiled, tipping her head to the side. “She’s got a good arm – almost cleared the couch.”
Tony raised an eyebrow. “Is that what caused the suspicious stain down the back of it?”
Pepper hummed. “The maid’s visiting on Friday, I’m going to see if she can fix it because I sure as hell couldn’t.”
Tony opened his mouth to respond but was cut off by FRIDAY speaking overhead.
“There are incoming reports of an attack on the Met. Men armed with guns have attacked civilians and taken hostages.”
The three superheroes at the table looked at one another for a moment before Tony stood. He sent a glance at the other two and then his daughter, giggling and oblivious to the mood shift.
“You two go,” Pepper said. “I’ll take Morgan to Julie in PR and catch up.”
Tony and Peter nodded in tandem, then the three of them were on their feet; Tony rushing out to the balcony, calling the armour to attach around his body and Peter to the couch where he’d dumped his backpack, pulling out the Spiderman suit and jumping into it. Pepper swung Morgan up into her arms and disappeared into the depths of the penthouse, towards the elevator, where she’d search for one of her friends, who worked for SI in the building, to babysit, before calling the Rescue armour.
Tony looked out across the city, sky slowly growing dark, and let his fingers twitch until Peter ran out, swinging onto Tony’s back. The two of them lifted off, FRIDAY plotting the course to the Met and linking the comms together at once.
“The attack has been claimed by the Watch Dogs,” FRIDAY announced.
“The who now?” Tony replied.
“The Watch Dogs,” Peter said. “They’re an anti-inhuman terrorist group. How don’t you know that?”
If Tony could’ve shrugged while flying with a spider-child on his back, he would’ve. “Been busy raising an infant or something like that. Why would the German Shepherds attack the Met?”
FRIDAY responded instantly. “The newest exhibition is a celebration of inhuman powers and culture. Tonight is the opening, in which many inhuman artists and prominent members of their community were invited. According to reports from police frequencies, it is believed that at least half of the people at the event are dead.”
“Shit,” Peter muttered.
“Yeah, kid,” Tony breathed. “Shit.”
-
The Met didn’t look like a bloodbath from the outside. It was lit up with spotlights shooting beams out into the sky; neon lights along the edges of the building, large signs and banners announcing the exhibition: Inhuman. The initial panic with inhumans was over long ago; many had gone through Terrigenisis, discovered incredible powers – given to them by the Cree, or something, Tony had only skimmed the report – and been immediately added to a watchlist.
When the Accords were put into place, inhumans were called in to sign right after the Avengers. After that, it was mutants and then it was just the vigilantes on the streets who hadn’t come in to sign because they’d found the loophole that they weren’t any of the above. Peter was like them – luckily still a minor and so didn’t have to sign yet – but people like Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (illegal experiments) and Daredevil (bad luck and God turning his back on him) were then searched for in the streets until they signed the papers they’d been avoiding.
There were still people out there avoiding the Accords, and Tony assumed there always would be – but he hadn’t heard of the Watch Dogs; hadn’t heard of their anti-inhuman code and the attacks they’d pulled off before. FRIDAY listed them in one ear during the trip and fell silent upon arrival.
It didn’t look like a bloodbath at all. Not from outside.
Police were lined up in squad cars; snipers on nearby roofs and a strike team clambering out of a van. Peter dropped off Tony’s back as an officer approached, supposedly the one in charge.
“Stark,” she said with a nod. “I hope you’re here to make yourself useful.”
“Be a bit of a dick move if I was just here to watch,” Tony replied, looking to the building.
“They entered through the front,” the officer said. “Took down security and went into the main event where they opened fire. There’s been zero contact with them so far, but they are live streaming.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
She nodded him to the nearest squad car, where a few officers were crowded around a phone. Tony and Peter followed and looked as she angled the phone towards them.
“FRI,” he said, “get the feed for Spidey and my monitors.”
He looked away as it appeared in front of him; a poor angle of an exhibition hall, blood splattered across the walls and art work, sculptures rising out from piles of dead bodies.
“Christ.”
“You can say that again,” Peter muttered.
“They’ve been spending most of the feed just talking out their asses – anti-inhuman sentiment and all that. We’re gonna have strike teams head in across the different entrances, shoot to kill.”
“And the hostages?”
She sighed. “They started killing one hostage every five minutes about ten minutes ago. Just for kicks. They know what’s going to happen. The longer we wait, the more likely they’re all going to die anyway.”
“Right,” Tony said, blowing out a breath. “Get your teams in position. I’ll head through the front-”
“Karen says there’s a good entrance high up into the room they’re keeping the hostages in,” Peter announced. “I’ll head in through the windows.”
Tony nodded. “Stay out of sight, alright? Don’t jump in until everyone’s in position – I’ll link us to the police comms.”
Peter saluted. “Got it. Oh – Karen says Pepper’s on her way over.”
“Great. FRIDAY can relay the plan to her. Kid, you and Rescue try and save as many hostages as possible.”
Peter scoffed. “Like I was going to do anything else.”
-
The assault happened in the time it took for Tony’s heart to beat once, twice, three times-
It was gunfire and blood splattering; cops falling from their vantage points in stairwells when they were hit and bullets bouncing off Tony’s suit. He fought them with his repulsors and with the strength the suit allowed him; throwing them across the room to be taken out by someone else.
There were less hostages than Tony had hoped. It was more than half the party dead on the ground; their blood painting the art work hanging on the walls and the sculptures of rebirth and Terregensis – moments of new life and broken faces of either heartbreak or absolute delight now painted in a deep, dripping crimson.
The Watch Dogs had bombs, because of course they did, and they went off around the room; small blasts that took down a wall or a group of people. They weren’t the big kind of bombs, but they were still doing damage.
Everywhere Tony turned there was a familiar blur of red. Spiderman leaping across the room, weaving in and out of trouble as he picked up civilians and deposited them at doorways, behind officers, in good hiding places. Peter didn’t focus on the Rabid Dogs much – he took down one, from what Tony saw, and immediately leapt off to help a woman stumbling through the fray.
Then Peter was out of Tony’s sight, and Tony was blasting off the bad guys, left right and centre.
Then, there was silence.
Across the room, whatever laptop they’d been streaming on was a steaming pile of charred plastic, the connection broken, and then two things happened at once:
First, a hand landed on his back. Second, a bomb detonated across the room.
It was a small explosion; localised and did little damage to anything but the floor – but it made everyone jump. It made Tony jump more so, as the hand landed on his back, and he spun suddenly, shooting before thinking; a repulsor beam hitting Peter square in the chest and throwing him across the room.
Peter hit the wall with a force that broke the painting he landed against, before falling to the floor. There was a second of shocked silence, then: “Fuck. Oh shit. Pe- Spidey. Spidey. Fuck, come on.”
Tony shot across the room, his faceplate retracting as he landed by Peter’s side. The front of his suit was smouldering with the blast and his head was drooped forward. Tony shuffled Peter’s body, trying to hear his breathing, trying to feel a pulse.
“FRI-FRIDAY?”
“Mr Parker is still breathing. He may have been knocked unconscious when he hit the wall, however.”
Tony blew out a relieved breath before the nerves set in again. He knocked his kid unconscious. Jesus Christ.
“Tony? Tony! Is he alright?” Pepper’s voice flooded in and Tony turned, only for a second, to find Pepper running across the room, donned in her suit. She’d entered the comms half way through the assault and confirmed that she’d helped hostages cleared the building – but that was before… this.
“Fuck,” Tony said. “FRIDAY thinks he’s unconscious.” Tony was moving Peter’s body until he was leaned up against his chest; his small body feeling so fragile in Tony’s grip. “I thought- I thought he was a bad guy. I – Pep.”
“It’s alright,” Pepper said as her faceplate retracted. “FRIDAY, set up the medbay at the Tower. See who’s on standby and bring them in. Come on, sweetie, let’s get you some help.” As she spoke, Pepper gently took Peter from Tony’s arms until she was carrying him, bridal style, in her own.
“Pep-”
“I’ll get him back to the tower,” she said, then her eyes flickered to the wall for a second, where the broken painting was swinging. “Yes,” she said, to the thin air. “I’ll send him. Tony, the officer in charge wants to speak with you. It’s fine, I’ll look after him.”
Pepper stood, a thousand times less jittery than Tony was feeling. He scrambled up after her. “Pepper-”
“This isn’t your fault,” she said, knowing already what he was going to say. “It was an accident. Spidey’s a tough kid, he’ll make it through. Go talk to the officer and catch up. I’ll make sure he’s okay.”
Pepper started off towards the windows, mostly shattered from the battle, and Tony looked after her, watching Peter’s body shift in her arms.
“Thank you,” he called.
Pepper didn’t reply to him, just smiled over her shoulder. She then turned to Peter. “Yeah, that’s right,” she murmured, soft. “Welcome back to the world of the living. We’re going to take a ride. Hold on.”
Tony watched as Pepper shot off into the night sky, carrying his son – their son? – in her arms.
-
Tony arrived about two and a half minutes after Pepper did, but it was enough time for Peter to be situated on a bed and for him to start rambling as if nothing had happened.
Tony disassembled the suit before entering, find Pepper in full armour leaning against a wall, her arms crossed and an amused smile playing across her lips. Peter, on the bed, was telling the doctor about the new Lego Death Star he and Ned were building – it was twice the size of their last one and they’d saved up for it for three months.
He looked up when Tony entered. “Hey, Tony!” Peter greeted.
“Hey, Pete,” Tony replied, stepping close. God, there was a dark stain on Peter’s suit where the repulsor had burnt it. There’d be no doubt bruises across his back from where he hit the wall. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m alright,” Peter said. “Though doc’s worried about me going unconscious for a bit there.”
Tony blew out a breath through his nose. “Look, Pete, I’m really sorry-”
“It’s okay,” Peter interrupted. “Really. I made you jump. There was that loud noise. It’s chill-”
“It’s not chill.”
“Okay, but it’s still fine. Seriously. I’m okay, I feel fine, and I know not to get on your bad side because those repulsor blasts are crazy strong.”
Tony winced, so Peter winced, and Tony had the strong feeling that Pepper was laughing at them. “Peter. Really, I’m sorry.”
Peter smiled and Tony could hear him pouring every ounce of sincerity he had into his response. “I forgive you, Tony. Really. But if you feel like you need to make it up to me, I never got to have desert before we rushed off to fight crime-” Peter broke off into laughter as Tony ruffled his hair, his eyes rolling.
“Oh, yeah, you’re fine.”
“See? Told you so!”
Pepper hummed as she stepped to Tony’s side. “Let’s let the doctor be the judge of that. But I agree: desert is needed. I’ll go fetch Morgan and some ice cream. You two be good.” She bumped her knuckles against Peter’s – something they’d been doing recently probably to make Tony feel left out – and pressed a kiss against Tony’s cheek – something she’d been doing for years, that always made Tony feel particularly not left out – before heading for the door.
“Ice cream,” Peter whispered with a smile. “Totally worth you attempting to kill me.”
“I didn’t-”
Peter cackled at Tony’s incredulous expression.
“You’re a terror child. You know that? I’m really glad we had Morgan so she can replace you. I only need one child and I’m picking her.”
Peter laughed still and shifted to the side to let Tony sit on the bed as the doctor moved to the monitor by the wall. “You would never,” Peter said. “Pepper likes me too much for that.”
“Yeah, kid,” Tony smiled. “Pepper would never let me get rid of you.”
As if Tony would ever dream of it, anyway.

Mina Ashido // Pinky // Alien Queen
Age: 16 (18-30 in Pro Hero verses) Aliases: Ridley Hero: Alien Queen, Pinky Date of Birth: July, 30th Place of Birth: Chiba Prefecture, Japan Species: Mutant-Emitter Hybrid Metahuman
Appearance Mina Ashido is a girl standing at about 5′3″, roughly average for her age, with pink hair and pink-purple skin. These traits alone make her very distinct in appearance, though she is made further unique in this way by two small horns which protrude from her mane of hair above the forehead, and black sclera, accompanied by amber pupils. This is a mutational quirk that she’s inherited through her family, and neither of these bear and influence on her abilities, besides the ability to blend into crowds of non-mutants.
Her hair is large and curly, giving a casually-unkempt appearance to most casual glances, although upon closer inspection it’s clear that Mina keeps meticulous care of her hair to maintain its health and hygiene, despite its naturally bushy nature.
Generally athletic, Mina enjoys break-dancing and other sports, giving her physique a muscularity that becomes apparent in her hero costume. This is particularly notable since she was able to perform extremely well in the quirk appraisal exam with a set of powers that are very niche, and weren’t applicable to many of the tests.
Due to her quirks, it isn’t always the most apparent, but Mina is mixed-race, being half Japanese, with a mixed-race black father. Due to her mother’s very prevalent mutation quirks, though, Mina possesses a mix of features from her parents, with her skin color not indicating her ethnicity strongly, besides some hard to discern freckles across her cheekbones and nose bridge. These freckles are a slightly darker pink than the rest of her skin.
Personality Outgoing and sociable, Mina is often seen with a smile on her face. Making friends easily, she likes to spend a lot of time with others, to the point of being disappointed when excluded from social activities.
It’s through this that she performs well as a hero, resolving bullying issues in middle school by promoting friendship between the parties, through teaching them break dancing. Of course, she isn’t uneager to turn to combat either, relying on her physicality to outfight foes with more impressive or combat-optimized quirks.
Mina is energetic and has a love for athletics, this reflects in her fighting style and break dancing. Her love for break dancing is so strong that her tone with others will shift dramatically, to being more severe, expecting perfectionism when coordinating routines.
Since being a child, Mina wished to be a pro hero, actively pursuing it without losing sight. This dedication allowed her to place well in the quirk apprehension test, despite having a quirk that could only help in a few events.
Not having a particular interest in studies and academics, Mina tends to perform poorly in her schoolwork, leading others to assume she’s an airhead. However, this is not due to any inherent lack of intelligence, and seems to be more of a lack of interest.
Biography Mina Ashido was born in Chiba Prefecture to a Japanese Nurse and an American Businessman. As such, she grew up with her father spending a significant amount of time abroad, though he would often bring her back clothing and hip-hop apparel from the USA. By sharing his home culture with Mina, she would develop a love for dance, music, and athletics in general, also having a particular fondness for basketball.
Otherwise, Mina was largely raised by her mother who, while more reserved than both Mina and her father (who comes from the American “lower context culture”), was still enamored with her family being so outgoing and bold, encouraging the girl to pursue her interests and make many friends.
Like many children in the era of quirks, Mina grew up with a fascination of superheroes, enthralled by their deeds and cool costumes, wishing to someday be like them. And with her quirk, inherited from her father, she was likely to someday pursue this dream, as adults and other children in her life often saw it as an excellent quirk for someone who wanted to be a hero. This narrative would prevail through to her adolescence too, with Mina actively pursuing an enrollment at U.A. Her athletic lifestyle would especially suit this goal too, as it would emphasize her quirk’s need for finesses and strategy to be utilized well.
Mina would often intervene on the part of other students when they were being harassed or bullied, through some manner of diplomacy being able to convince both sides in many of these situations to come to terms with one another.
Aside from that, though, Mina also possessed no small measure of courage, as in one situation, Mina stood up to a very large, intimidating, villain (Gigantomachia) and tricked him into leaving her and her friends alone. It was during this that she would inspire her schoolmate Eijiro Kirishima to change himself, and drive forwards to become a hero.
Later on, Mina would take the U.A. entrance exam, and would be approved. While she didn’t score in the top 10 scores revealed, it can be assumed that she scored in the range of 50 - 58 in the practical exam, as her written portion was not likely to be particularly impressive.
Mina would be enrolled into Class 1-A, having many adventures to follow. (Spoiler-Free)
Abilities and Skills -Physical Conditioning: Mina lives a highly active lifestyle, even before training to become a hero, and it shows. Despite not having a very competitive quirk for many of the tests, Mina scored in the higher half of Class 1-A’s Quirk Apprehension test. When considering this against other students, whose quirks somehow greatly enhanced their performance in one or more categories, while Mina’s could likely help her in one of the shown tests, and little in the others, this is very impressive. When drawn in any degree of detail, Mina’s shown to be more muscular than the other girls of Class 1-A, further indicating her athleticism. Mina’s natural speed and agility seems to be at the higher range of that in her class as well, allowing her to make expert use of her quirk. -Dancing and Basketball Talent: A very skilled athlete, Mina’s interests in dancing and basketball were given to the girl by her father. An exceptional break dancer, Mina’s not only a spectacle to watch dance, but she’s able to train others who have little or no experience dancing into capable dancers in very little time. While less interested in Basketball, Mina’s still very good at this game too, her dancing supplementing this by allowing Mina to express a lot of skill in the areas of lay-ups and dunking. These abilities give Mina a strong kinesthetic awareness and agility, allowing her to maneuver easily through the air while leaping fairly wide gaps. This also supplements her combat style when utilizing her quirk, allowing Mina to effectively act at medium range, both supporting and protecting her teammates, while also sabotaging opponents. -Sharp Reflexes: Seeming to be a combination of honing from her heroic training, as well as a natural knack, and further sharpening from her athletic activities, Mina Ashido’s noted to have the quickest reflexes in Class 1-A. This allows her to consistently dodge enemy attacks, while also being able to react to the battlefield so quickly that she can feasibly use her quirk to react to almost any kind of situation. -Partner Coordination: Due to having a unique, utility-suited quirk, Mina is accustomed to having to fight with tactics and improvise. This gives her a creative edge that allows her to quickly come up with, and coordinate, strategies that emphasize her and a teammate’s abilities very well. She can even coordinate with other, more support or utility-oriented, quirks such as Mineta’s to great effect. -Tactics and Improvisation: Mina has an acumen for combat tactics, able to come up with solutions to problems through the use of her own and other’s quirks. As well, she’s able to easily improvise strategies that use her quirk to deal with surprising situations. This works well with her reflexes, being able to overcome surprise attacks and mitigate the complex strategies of others more effectively because of it.
Superhuman Powers and Abilities -Acid Generation and Manipulation: Mina Ashido is able to produce a slime-like substance from her skin, with the additionally to be able to manipulate its composition to effect how corrosive the solution is, how solid or liquid it may be, and even influence the shape that it takes after moving from direct contact with her body. This manipulation of the acid isn’t telekinetic in nature, and functions as more through indirect degrees of contact while being connected to bodies of slime that she may more directly influence. While Mina is able to control the acid’s solubility to the point that it can melt through metal and flesh, she tends to keep the corrosive nature of her acid under tighter control when fighting living opponents, so as to avoid grievous injury or murder. With more use over time, Mina’s quirk becomes more sustainable, as she begins to build a resistance to fatigue from its use, with the unique glands which produce her acid becoming more able to generate even more slime. Materials that naturally resist corrosives are similarly resistant to Mina’s acid, and it takes her greatly increasing the solubility of the acid in order to work through this. For this reason, Mina’s costume is largely acid-resistant as well. --Corrosive Immunity: Due to her quirk’s nature, Mina is possessed of a natural immunity to corrosives, such as acids that are similar to her own. However, this has a diminishing return with the use of her quirk, with overuse deteriorating her own natural resistance to corrosives, her own or otherwise. Acids that would kill normal humans would do little more than cause Mina’s skin to tingle at her full degree of immunity, though if she were to produce a lot of very intense acid over a short period of time, acid may have only a slightly reduced effect to her that it does to others.

MY OPINION ON;
[ Character in general: ]
I will readily admit, I’m…exceedingly biased toward Hinata. In a good way! When I got into Naruto, it was a bit of escapism during what’s so far been the toughest part of my life, when I as a person was going through hardship and hardly knew who I was, and had few people I could rely on. Having a character who was also downtrodden, shy, unsure of herself, the ‘odd one out’…well, I latched on immediately. And even as we both changed, that didn’t. I still love Hinata as a character, both for what she is, and what she can be when molded by a fan in RP or fanfiction (both of which I’ve tried my hand at, to…varying results). My foremost love in fiction are healers…but a very close second are soft/kind characters. As much as I love badass women characters (and Hinata DOES have her badass aspects), I still have a penchant for those who are less sharp around the edges (if that’s not evident in my own primary character, aha).
Ryū also has a soft spot for her from RP prior to Tumblr, which meant having her as a close friend in a fic I’ve given up writing (and instead RP a wee bit here). I’ve also written fics with her shipped with a few of the other muses I have lurking about. So she’s all-around fave in this house!
[ How they play them: ]
…I can’t remember now at what point of your Hinata’s timeline I stumbled upon her, but I do remember being enthralled immediately. I’d never seen a blog that told a story like yours did: that’s so wholly devoted to the character, inside and out. Not only that, but the narrative you tell with Hinata is just…! I’m not sure I have words for how…interesting, different, and exciting it is (all very basic words, I apologize, but that’s all I’ve got at the moment). I never know what’s going to happen next, and though I miss snippets here or there, overall I latch onto every post you make, wanting to know what’s happening, why, and how it’s going to play out from there. It’s a bit like watching a car wreck happen in little spurts every so often across my dash - I just can’t look away no matter the horror!
[ The Mun: ]
Honestly one of the most patient, kind, quirky, resolute, and fair muns I’ve met during my nearly three years on this site. You handle even the worst things with grace (such as the blog that shall not be named the other night). You’re a joy to talk to: your positivity, humor, and enthusiasm for everything everyone does is just…so important. The Naruto RPC (the only RPC I belong to, mind you) can get rather dark or nasty at times, but you never let that encroach on you, even when it bares its ugly head at YOU. Which I would gladly lop off when it does, if I just knew where my machete was…ANYWAY. You’re a wonderful influence in this community, and I always, always love interacting with you ooc. You always brighten my day with whatever little quip you have to offer me!
DO I:
[ RP with them: ]
I do not! Modern, admittedly, is my all-time weakest verse (I’m much better at stuff with a majority fantasy element, where I have less 'strict’ rules to play by…or my own, with my own verses (I’m selfish that way)), so I admit I just think I’d totally flop trying to throw any of my muses at Hinata in the world she’s found herself so wedged in, and I’d hate to put you through my sub-par nonsense. “Real life” has a lot of rules I’m not too familiar with/able to write, hence why I very rarely write in it. I deal with it enough myself.
[ Want to RP with them: ]
If I were more able to do modern, and felt more…familiar with the other elements of Hinata’s world (I know very little of the other verses you cross with, like the mutant shenanigans), I would indeed! But I think my part is much better played as a reader as not to muck things up =‘D
WHAT IS MY;
[ Overall Opinion: ]
Honestly, all around one of my all-time favorite blogs. Even if we don’t interact IC, yours is still a blog I have a lot of investment in, in regards to the narrative you craft as you go (and in the mun cuz she’s a good bean). As much as Ryū throws fits wanting to leap in and play hero…I think it’s best I keep her on a leash, haha! I look forward to every post I can be around to catch. And the mun is a sweet pea who does so much for a community that isn’t always as kind in turn, but you don’t let that stop you. And that’s honestly impressive. All around, a wonderful, unique blog that we love in-character and out!
**Note: Mun’s answer are all to be completely honest. Don’t send url if you don’t want brutal honesty
#i hope that answers your question [ mun replies ]#hyugainterior#long post#whoops i rambled#and i really DO need to find my machete#my mother borrowed it and i don't know where she put it...#until then i guess i've got my knives#but they're rather short for lopping off heads

WE ARE NOW SEEING THE BEGINNINGS OF ANOTHER STAGE OF HUMAN EVOLUTION
Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. lt has enabled us to evolve into the dominant species on the planet. This process normally takes thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.
As it has today.
The x gene, or mutant gene, is beginning to appear within humanity’s collective DNA and with it, a fear of extinction. Those born with the gene have incredible powers beyond the scope of previous evolutionary understanding. So the natural question seems to be: ARE MUTANTS DANGEROUS? But while humanity ponders this strange new landscape, those born with the gene become ostracized, targeted, experimented upon, and more. Many of these “mutants” are teenagers, just coming into puberty when their lives and prospects are changed forever. Some hide from their difference, some embrace it. Sometimes all it takes is a community.
There exists a school in Westchester, NY that to any outside observer seems like nothing more than another private boarding school, but in reality it is a place of exploration. This School for Gifted Youngsters, as it is often called, exists for the singular purpose of providing a safe* and welcoming environment for all children born with the x gene to come and learn to control their abilities. Some prosper, some flourish, and some only find more demons to slay.
Welcome to Jaha’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

GoldLink: At What Cost
In recent years, Washington, D.C. has become an unlikely incubator for worldly, adventurous dance music: the mutant grooves of Future Times, the Ethiopian house of 1432 R, Peoples Potential Unlimited’s retro-futuristic funk. More than any of his contemporaries, DMV rapper GoldLink has drawn up these sounds like a sponge. On mixtapes like The God Complex and last year’s collection of And After That, We Didn’t Talk remixes, he presented an aesthetic he called “future bounce”: a fluorescent, kinetic sound that’s as indebted to house music as to hip-hop. For his major label debut, At What Cost, GoldLink digs deeper into his city’s musical history, pushing the elastic rhythms of go-go and funk to the fore while keeping a foot firmly planted in the current moment. It helps that he’s found a few kindred spirits to help him refine his sound, postmodern traditionalists like Montreal producer Kaytranada and Matt Martians and Steve Lacy of the Internet. Still, the sound of At What Cost is quintessentially that of GoldLink’s hometown: loose, organic, as humid as a D.C. summer.
The album’s opening third establishes a strong sense of place. “Hands on Your Knees” is a straight-up go-go number produced by Kaytranada; rather than rapping, the track is overlaid with D.C. lifer Kokayi emceeing a party over crowd noise. The end result is a song that captures the atmosphere of a go-go as much as the music. “Have You Seen That Girl?” sputters like a jalopy crawling down U Street on a hot day, its Casiotone beat just barely pushing the song forward. On “Meditation,” Kaytranada builds an entire track around the closing minute of his own “TRACK UNO”: decaying synths, a four-on-the-floor beat, a bassline that’s almost dubstep-sized. “Shake, shake, shake/Shake the nerves off/In the name of dancehall, shake the nerves off,” Jazmine Sullivan instructs on the hook. The song ends with the sound of gunfire erupting outside of a party, a not unfamiliar scene in the world of go-go.
Elsewhere, At What Cost looks outward, drawing in sounds from far outside of the District. “Herside Story,” a remix of Irish group Hare Squead’s song of the same title, feels almost impossibly buoyant, Jessy Rose’s braying hook floating atop the track’s harp melody like Kirby in Dreamland. The way he makes the word “down” vibrate in his throat is near magical. GoldLink wrestles the soaring track back down to earth: “Pop a nigga like we pop a wheelie, niggas going crazy in the city.” Lead single “Crew” stands out for its gleaming, Atlanta sound, but it’s also just a straight-up stunning rap song. Baltimore crooner Brent Faiyaz lays down a silky hook that’s confident yet conflicted, while fellow Washingtonian Shy Glizzy contributes a verse that practically leaps out of the speakers (one particularly acrobatic stretch: “Stop that madness, I’m a savage, in traffic with MAC 11’s/Baddest bitch and she Spanish, I fly her to Calabasas”). GoldLink, meanwhile, remains characteristically collected, even as he races to cram every last syllable into his bars. Just like on the rest of these tracks, he sounds right at home.
In its attempt to deliver a promising D.C. rapper onto the national stage, At What Cost recalls the last great major label rap debut to come out of the city: Wale’s Attention Deficit. Like that record, At What Cost is ambitious, slickly-produced, and relies a great deal on live instrumentation. However, where Attention Deficit’s jumbled tracklist smacked of design-by-committee compromise, At What Cost is clearly guided by GoldLink’s vision from start to finish. He’s leveraging the music that shaped him, working with producers with whom he has real chemistry, and putting on as many DMV artists as he can, ranging from the unknown (Ciscero) to the obligatory (Wale) to the surprising (where has Mýa been, anyway?). In its ability to move fluidly between artists, styles, and ideas, At What Cost also recalls a more recent hip-hop album: Drake’s “playlist” More Life. Though while Drake restlessly roams the globe in search of new sounds, GoldLink is largely content to bask in the richness of his hometown's music. It’s for this reason that At What Cost feels like an album that only GoldLink could make, one that’s forward-looking yet firmly rooted in D.C. tradition.

MY OPINION ON;
[ Character in general: ]
(That pigeon better not poop on anything) As a mun who’s had her share of character creation - both in terms of fandom-based characters, and purely original - I know well how much time, effort, blood, sweat, tears, and nonsense it takes to craft a muse from the ground up. From what I can remember you telling me, Kimiko is just about as old as Ryū (well...Ryū’s first horrible iteration), if not a smidge older. She’s been something you’ve loved and worked on for a LONG time, and my goodness it shows. Kimiko has a well-rounded, multi-faceted, interesting and flawed personality, backstory, and interactions with the world(s) and muses around her. I love her complexities, her virtues, her vices. You’ve put a good balance of the good, the bad, and the ugly into her. And those traits continue to develop, expand, and change as you go!
[ How they play them: ]
Well, granted, it’s a little hard for an original character’s mun to play them any way but the way they’re meant to be played. BUT, that being said, there’s a finesse to writing a character regardless: everyone starts out as beginners, but it’s clear you know your way around telling a story, and having a character interact with their surroundings, their circumstances, and their fellow muses. And you do all of this exceptionally well. Your storytelling is fluid, your muse is consistent, and every interaction is its own. Nothing feels stale, repeated, or forced. Which can be hard to do!
[ The Mun: ]
One of the neatest beans I’ve had the pleasure of meeting during my time here! You’re sweet, funny, and one of those who’ve let me drag you kicking and screaming into verses of my own, for better or worse xD Which I know I don’t thank peeps who do often enough, so...thank you, while I’m at it, haha! But yes, you’re a joy to talk to and work with ooc, and your ic posts are so well-crafted and intriguing.
DO I:
[ RP with them: ]
Yeees, I do indeed! With a variety of my muses, and several different verses! They’re all varied and enthralling - some of my favorite to write (when I have muse OTL)
[ Want to RP with them: ]
All day, errday. In any verse - I think there’s still one or two we haven’t tried yet x3
WHAT IS MY;
[ Overall Opinion: ]
There’s a multitude of OC blogs out there, and in all honesty, some better than others. This is a top tier fandom OC blog. A well-rounded muse, a delight of a mun, and a wonderful writing style that’s a joy to both interact with, and just read. One of the peeps that’s stuck around since finding me ages ago, haha!
**Note: Mun’s answer are all to be completely honest. Don’t send url if you don’t want brutal honesty
