      MUTANT VARIATION GROUP VERSE BIO. AUDREY JENSEN. 17. STUDENT. MEMORY PROJECTION.

       she’s always known she wasn’t like other kids, and it wasn’t ever just one thing. the first time she realized why she was different, it was because other girls in her class were beginning to have crushes on boys when she was starting to have them on the other girls. it wasn’t that she didn’t like boys— it was just something that she realized set her apart. something that would make her life difficult.

        aside from that, and aside from the typical teenage nonsense ( growing up against your parents, being into dark, moody music and wearing too much eyeliner ), something still felt off. 

       it happened in front of everyone. some kid pushed her too far— outed her to the school— and she got too angry. she didn’t kill her, but she’d thought about it. she’d almost done it. the anger she felt as she screamed that she’d NEVER HURT ANYONE AGAIN once she was done with her was burned into her mind, and when someone questioned her about it she got nervous, defensive. the moment played out on full display for everyone in the room to see, audrey’s voice booming through the halls as rachel tried to convince her not to do it. the footage her mind clung to flickered away before the part where her keys were snatched from her hand, before the part where she went home instead of going to make that girl pay for what she did.

       if not for jaha, she would have absolutely been arrested. he believed her, took her under his wing, and just when the cops were about to snatch her away from the only person who seemed to be on her side, they found evidence that led to someone else. 

       starting at the academy, she knew she’d never be on the hero track. her skill was flashy, at best— maybe useful every now and then— but it was nothing like shooting flames from your hands or sprouting wings from your spine. she wasn’t a fighter, and so she made herself one. when she’s not in classes, she’s working out. she doesn’t want to have to rely on anyone else to keep her safe when she knows she’s on a side that will inevitably end up in a war.

WE ARE NOW SEEING THE BEGINNINGS OF ANOTHER STAGE OF HUMAN EVOLUTION

Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. lt has enabled us to evolve into the dominant species on the planet. This process normally takes thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.

As it has today.

The x gene, or mutant gene, is beginning to appear within humanity’s collective DNA and with it, a fear of extinction. Those born with the gene have incredible powers beyond the scope of previous evolutionary understanding. So the natural question seems to be: ARE MUTANTS DANGEROUS? But while humanity ponders this strange new landscape, those born with the gene become ostracized, targeted, experimented upon, and more. Many of these “mutants” are teenagers, just coming into puberty when their lives and prospects are changed forever. Some hide from their difference, some embrace it. Sometimes all it takes is a community.

There exists a school in Westchester, NY that to any outside observer seems like nothing more than another private boarding school, but in reality it is a place of exploration. This School for Gifted Youngsters, as it is often called, exists for the singular purpose of providing a safe* and welcoming environment for all children born with the x gene to come and learn to control their abilities. Some prosper, some flourish, and some only find more demons to slay.

EXTRA INFOS + RULES:

this is an x-men group verse, but expected levels of familiarity with the x-men canon(s) aren’t high– i’m going to assume if you’re joining the verse, you know the basics. but also take that with a grain of salt because there are minor changes to it within this verse

there are currently THREE positions that your character can be:

X-Men- upperclassmen/founding class members who have mastered their abilities enough to take them out into the field (current limit: 5)

Students- some are younger, some are older. some are on the hero track, others... not so much. (no current limit)

Staff- adult mutants who teach/mentor the youngsters and run the school (no current limit)

while this gv is the 1OO based, it is not exclusively for the 1OO rpers and any characters are welcome

as mod, I reserve the right to ask you to reconsider changing your character’s position (depending on demand/supply/etc)– as well as rejecting applications though i really don’t want to i’d love everyone to be a part of this

multiple of the same fc is only allowed if something is coordinated with the first accepting mun (i.e. twins, clones, duplicate powers, etc.)

this will be primarily discord + thread based, therefore please be willing to share your discord

depending on your position + further plot stuff, there will be separate ic chat groups, as well as a school wide one
