the monster of the week was defeated. things seemed... relatively normal as residents of mystic falls made their way to the cemetery and released lanterns and wrote letters to the dead in true mournful fashion. until, they opened their eyes and were somehow taken back to the night before. the music from the party in the grand ballroom vibrated the floors as the students started to investigate their whereabouts. the necromancer was gone and so was the malivore knife. residents of new orleans appeared out of smoke, the news of the dead returning prematurely announced by a powerful french quarter witch.  the residents of mystic falls are now in a state of confusion. the reminder of the day never happened. jo laughlin never showed up in this version and buried her daughter, the party is ongoing, and the necromancer left a parting note to those who he tormented during his short visit.  a spell that raised the dead. whether it was out of the goodness of his heart to stop malivore from wiping out creatures just like him or if it was done with evil intent was something they’d never know for sure. what they knew though, was that a sweet sixteen was about to be far more interesting than any teen romance drama.

𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐘…

The eldest job was a title that Josette Saltzman wore with pride for the first 13 years of her life. It was easier to manage their sister from the sidelines than be in the front and center. Lizzie was always getting the attention and thus Josie thought they were fine with it. It was fine being the forgotten twin that could stay to themselves and have her own interests that no one would bother.

Josie didn’t start actually wanting a voice of her own until they were 16 years old, when hiding behind her sister was getting harder. Being the follower wasn’t all they wanted to be. Josie decided that they should have their own space and thus moves into her ex’s dorm room. It was there they were able to actually do things for themselves. Started in drama club, tried their hand at fine arts of painting, dance, and more.

None of it really stuck but that was okay because by the time they got to college it was clear to them they were a caregiver. Josie thought about going into medicine at a hospital setting like her late biological mother, Jo Laughlin but decided against that. Instead, they decided that working a desk job would allow them the ability to create their own legacy.

They decided to get a degree in communication and actually goes to work on a news broadcast station behind the scenes. It works for a few years and makes them happy but like everything as a heretic (from 18 on) things have to always change. Josie takes jobs in that can use her degree in communication well and when all else fails travels the world. Although instead of finding home in the big city of NOLA,  they find home in the Georgia area on a large farm that has horses.

After spending the better part of an hour getting ready and getting used to wearing heels again, Josette Laughlin made her way to the party, trying her best to squash her nerves before the party began. As she approached the room, far from the prying eyes of those even earlier than herself, she stopped, reconsidering the whole affair. Fiddling with the rings on her fingers, hoping she could get the courage together to finish her journey to the party before she drug herself back to the comfort of her room.
