Being away from home was never easy even when Bode loved his job. He constantly felt like he was stuck, being happy about one thing in his life and unhappy about another. But this situation with his dad had to be one of the hardest things he'd endured in recent years while being away from home. He thanked everything he had ever believed in for taking the stairs and not the elevator as the power went out as soon as he reached his father's floor. "Seriously? On my day back?" He muttered under his breath, turning on his phone's flashlight as he tried to find the room. There was no need though since as soon as he turned right, Bode saw LT's familiar figure leaning against the wall. "Leighton!" A small smile showed up on his lips, reaching over to hug his baby brother. "Bro, finally. I took the earliest flight here."

blood rushes to his ears, followed by a ringing that makes the outside noise a faraway, fading sound. the only thing occupying his thoughts are james's words, echoing around in his head. his hand clenches around the doorknob of their shared room, and oliver is quick to release it. he's against the idea of turning around and having to face him, scared of what his face might look like, terrified of the conflicting emotions he might find. if there's one treasure oliver has acquired throughout his years at dellecher, it's james, and the idea of him being ripped from his grasp is as dreadful as it is painful. “ james. ” he tries to reason, finally turning around and taking a few tentative steps in his direction. “ i didn't — i wasn't aware that you — ” nothing sounds right, suddenly. frustration is clear on his expression, not only from not being able to find the right words, but from the fragile state of their friendship. “ do you want me to stay here? i can call meredith and tell her i'm not coming. ” he knows she won't like it, but oliver finds that he doesn't care that much about that. in that moment, his undivided attention belongs to james.

Of course Arcade was the one who broke things off but he almost immediately regretted it when he realized he pushed him away out of his anxieties, realized the mistake he made during his whirlwind of emotions he didn't have a grasp on. He even asked around for James for about a week afterwards, and unfortunately learned he had already took his things and decided to leave the Mojave. He desperately wanted him back but made a decision he couldn't just walk back from when he never thought it out in the first place

"beat into me? you seriously believe you can break me? i've dealt with far worse than you," eden spoke out as she spotted a tree that could make a decent hiding spot. a breath, close to a gasp, escaped her at the way the next branch hitting the ground sounded so much closer. as fast and as quietly as she could, she moved to climb up the tree, using her claws for extra security. once perched upon a branch, she watched the spot where she'd come from intensely.

even though james had never triggered his werewolf gene, part of that beast had always been inside of him. that was why he couldn't let someone go when they got his attention. eden was that person now. the vampire was determined to make her pay for the way that she treated them. him specifically. if laurent cared, then he could handle her on his own as well.
