Hesitance sat still on the Aspect's tongue, the cowed and nervous look of the hatchling cresting at the edges of soft blue eyes. Though sensibility spoke of the limits of a simulacrum, the short, if precisely shaped, ways in which they could be seen to be the same as their original, such a mind helped little when faced with the countenance of one so keenly failed, of one whose death had, in part, informed the madness of his predecessor and shaped their flight for generations.

Theorems and their cold analysis were the offspring of their magic, understanding given inked flesh and parchment scroll skin to be shared by drake and dragon alike, yet they were no aid in quelling the hard stone in Kalecgos' throat, nor the cruel pit of sorrow in his gut.

"As you wish, my Lady," came the uneasy acquiescence, lofted on a knitted brow. "If I might ask, what is the last memory you recall? I understand you would not have your feelings spared, but I would not cause you harm by treading over old ground without need."

"Tell me everything." Some knowledge may be a burden, but the request is a reassurance. "You mentioned our flight is scattered, and as the current Aspect, I have a notion of Malygos' fate. It troubles you still, it seems - so tell me, child, and rest easy in the knowledge my feelings need not be spared."
