Johnnie pauses, tilts his head in thought. What did it stand for? Oddly enough, he doesn't recall being told.

"I'm not sure," he sheepishly admits. If he could blush, he would. "Do you want to come up with something with me?" It's a coy offer, but giving himself a middle name with his best friend sounded wonderful!

"It's gotta be something cool and stylish!"

Johnnie yanks his hand away at Elva's warning. He's trying to learn boundaries, understand them. Either way, he isn't hurt physically or emotionally, thankfully.

"Oh, sorry!" He blurts out, "I just liked your neat-o jacket. It's real cool. Where'd you get it?"

"Oh, no, I'm okay! I gave a nice man 10 dollars because he needed some money. He didn't really talk to me much after that, but he looked happy! I think I did a good thing, right?"

“ you’ve been so quiet. what’s on your mind? ”  alice @ johnnie!

It was an unusual sight to see the robot so quiet, with as talkative and upbeat as he usually was. Johnnie gently kicks his legs from where he's sitting, trying to process all of the thoughts in his head. It was almost information overload, but how could he not be so overwhelmed with the outside world around him? It was a good feeling, an exciting one, but finding the words was difficult.

He turns his head to look at Alice, having been looking up at the stars instead for the longest time.

"A lot," he solemnly admits, "I never thought a guy like me could feel so small. They made me feel like a big guy, a star! But I'd always been cramped up in the station and thought that radio was all that there was, until I heard my coworkers talk about their lives. They did so many things that sounded so neat, but I was never allowed to leave." His coworkers had been his only friends, besides repeat callers, for his entire life. It inspired a feeling similar to jealousy in him, a curiosity that made him impulsive. That's how he ended up here, away from his home.

"The world is so big and sometimes I get these thoughts that really trouble me. I've done so many ads for ice cream, but you know what I realized? I don't even know what it tastes like. It scares me to know I was just talking without knowing what I was saying." If he could cry, he'd be blinking back tears by now. The epiphany nearly broke his computerized, figurative heart.

"Hey, Alice?" He starts a question, hoping it didn't sound too silly. "What does it taste like? How does it feel?"

"Oh boy, ain't that a kick in the head! I mean yee-ouch!"

Johnnie's almost sent reeling from his own reaction, having to hold onto his own head to steady himself--and make sure his hair stayed nice and neat. "Well, Honey, that sounds awfully busy,” he continues after regaining his composure, “it sounds like people going to a diner wanting a five course meal instead of a soda pop and a burger! Gee, I’m sorry your customers are giving you such trouble, but I can lend a hand or two if you ever need!”

"Oh, is that what you do at one?" Johnnie blinks in surprise. He thought they were meant to just sleep! But... did Johnnie ever sleep? He couldn't recall ever doing so, so maybe he'd be better off talking as planned. "This is my first one 'cause I don't have that many friends who'd want me over," he explains, pulling his legs to his chest, "but that's okay. We're gonna have a blast, right? I always have a lot to talk about! I never stop thinking, so I'll never run out of ideas!"

He reaches out to gently touch Botan on the shoulder. "Hey, what's your favorite thing to talk about?"

"But it's a sleepover, Johnnie, aren't we supposed to talk all night? At least, that's what I heard about sleepovers!" Botan was trying to keep his eyes open, being the early sleeper that he was. Maybe eating a few more m&m's would help?
