falling hurt. physically. emotionally, less. a bit, of course. confusion, hurt, abandonment, anger, disbelief, even more confusion. but the physical pain... even hell's torture when they found out he... anyway, it just doesn't compare. being torn apart and torn from is not a pain any torture past or present can replicate. falling just hurt. a lot.

the giddiness in aziraphale's voice after his chit chat with him, however... the hope, the stubbornness, the sheer ignorance. the knowledge that he had to tell the angel what he needed to tell him now, even though he knew the answer already. knew by his tone. because crowley knew all the different intonations of his, all the itches in breathing, switch in tone and pitch.

so he knew. of course he knew aziraphale would say no, bristle, argue. he bloody knew. he tried anyway. because the year's been shit, hell's been shit, living in his car's been shit. but man if the unsaid 'no' didn't hurt.

The Force Adopts Tony Stark 👀

@whiskygoldwings sent an ask about this one barely a minute after yours XD Seems this one intrigues people!

“Can you tell us what happened?” The Marshal Commander spoke for the first time, watching Tony with calculating eyes. “Thanos,” Tony answered. He didn’t feel like elaborating, and figured just the bastard’s name — known, hated, and feared across the universe — should be explanation enough. And yet their faces only showed confusion. “Thanos?” Kenobi asked. Tony frowned. “Yeah. Big purple asshole who dusted half the universe? Wears a fancy glove? Obsessed with jewelry?” They still looked confused. “Really? Doesn’t ring a bell?” “Should it?” Commander Cody asked. “What do you mean by ‘dusted?’” “Dusted. Dissolved. Blew away. Killed. Half the universe’s population gone just like that?” He snapped his fingers for emphasis. Still nothing. “I think,” Kenobi said slowly, “this situation is a lot more complicated than we originally suspected.” Tony sighed. “Yeah. I’ve got a feeling I’m not in Kansas anymore.”

So! The premise of this one is- the Infinity Stones were a bit upset about their new favorite mortal dying. Coincidentally, their good buddy The Force was grieving the loss of the Jedi in its own galaxy, far far away. So, the Stones reached out and offered a solution- Tony Stark fixed their universe, so maybe he could help out The Force, too. The Force agrees, and Tony is thrown into the early days of the Clone Wars, conveniently placed for the 212th to find him.

I don't have much written for it yet, and I haven't worked on it in almost a year, but I'm very fond of it and would like to pick it back up someday.

Hello! I know you're one of the people who ship Moon and Solar (TSAMS) And y'all have gotten me into the ship as well! XD I'm not caught up on the lore of the show(s) So i haven't even seen Solar IN SHOW before (i am very behind to before Lunar was Sun and Moons brother :' D) But I have some ideas I'm debating writing for the ship buttt....I have no clue how Canon Solar acts??? Do you know if theres somewhere I could find a Summary on his personality? (and I suppose...new Moon?) I'll probably unintentionally make them OOC...never written for anything TSAMS related, but i'll try!

And is there a ship names thats...like used for them instead of Solar X Moon or is it just called that?

Heheheh. Thank you. I've been shipping these two since June 2023 so I'm glad I can share the brainrot and some people are more welcoming and cool then I expect. (mostly the ones who can't think critically are the youtube audience but that's expected. Since a lot of the youtube target audience are... like.. minors or really young adults who can't conceive the concept.)

I rewatch that Episode where Solar changes his name and rebuilds the Daycare in a week just for Moon constantly cause it's just... so much admiration and appreciation Moon has for Solar in that episode. I swear I don't know if it was a flub on the actor's part... but I swear Moon calls him 'sexy' as he's dragging him to charge. the stock sound effect of "OOOOH" doesn't help my APD and I've listened so many times and I have no possible idea what Moon could be saying to Solar other then 'come here you stupid, sexy-...." (trails off) sooo... idk. I might have misheard that severely but that's just what I'm hearing.

Like, in terms of New Lore of the show, it gets pretty complicated.

So complicated in fact, TSAMS themselves released a new video on the subject.... But it's NOT a very good guide, as it misses a lot of things. (and no I don't mean the stupid guest cameo stuff) this is more or less an abridged take on what happens with no emotional impact:

Like, this is a good starting point if you want the barest of bones, but it misses so much stuff. I think they don't even mention how Solar gets introduced into this family. lol. Just like "yeah Im here and I helped kill Eclipse" fheahehf. It's a super well made video though, and I don't mind the editing mistakes (clearly when the actors change the avatar on screen.... whoops. Happens a few times)

There is also the Fan Wiki, but as of now, it is incomplete, (@twinanimatronics is working tirelessly on updating the wiki and I wish they got more reconignition from the tsams community as a whole ) but it does give a decent look into Solar

There is also the huge TSAMS Lore Document, which Ceph(twinanimatronics) also worked on which contains a further detailed explanation of the story so far, for those who don't have time to watch 2 years worth of youtube content that aren't in a concrete playlist. (TSAMS. PLAYLIST YOUR STUFF PROPERLY. YOU HAVE TWO YEARS OF LORE HERE)

Liike.... yeah... this is okay but like..

This is VRchat. Aka the lore. Which also includes when they play videogames in VRchat, which don't impact the story... Like Uno, Amongus and SCP stuff.....

And it doesn't divide the arcs. Something that TSAMS severely needs more then any other SB Show channel.

Also, in the early days, the gameplay videos USED to be part of the lore. As the concept of Eclipse itself, being a rouge evil ai that lived in Sun's head (as it was presented initially but we know the truth it was the killcode moon planted in Sun when they separated.)

These days, they kinda dropped the gameplay videos being directly connected to the over arching plot. Other then just saying that their vids are pre-recorded or "we're back" after an annual halloween takeover.

Not to mention... When Earth and Lunar got a show, they became intertwined with the Sun and Moon show. LAES is very much it's own thing, but it's the ONLY Security Breach Show that consists of two Original Characters spawned from the Sun and Moon show. A rarity. So their lore continues off from the Sun and moon show, giving more info on Lunar these days and Earth (their sister)

Then you have the Monty and Foxy show (which is my least favorite of the shows... Personal Preference. I try not to complain cus I know some people like it. But I do not like the plot points in that show, or the character writing and weird directions they take while being connected to the same universe.)

And Monty is a character voiced by Davis, who also voices Sun. So Monty started out as a prominent character on the Sun and Moon Show, and then got his OWN show... at a point in TSAMS history after Eclipse got the star and killed Lunar.

So yeah. I wish the playlists were better organized here. So we knew when each era starts.

(people say Matpat should get on this show lore... And noooooooo no thanks. Keep him away. We got you covered. Ceph honestly has enough info to make a video guide at this point.)

But long story short, Solar is a "Good Eclipse" from another dimension that the Old Moon introduced to Lunar, when Lunar was struggling with his trauma of leaving Eclipse. Good Eclipse and Lunar become friends.

Anyway, here are some key episodes that outline NewMoon and Solar's relationship, as Solar had never met the Old Moon.

Old Moon had never met Solar. It was New Moon who introduced himself to Solar to help defeating Eclipse once and for all. (and by this point lunar had died)

He was actually surprised that this Moon was a chill Moon and could be reasoned with and talked to, considering he was living a rather oppressive life from his own Moon.

There's also a whole episode saga of just these two bantering and talking while they work on the satellite together. I can't remember which specific episodes those are.

You can also see the difference between the Evil Eclipse and Good Eclipse here in one of my all time favorite episodes:

Moon saving Solar's life: (also the death of the bad Eclipse)

Everything is good and happy after Eclipse dies for awhile. (aside of Ruin and Bloodmoon wrecking shit) He goes back to his own dimension... and you get to see what his sad life is like:

From his Moon calling him "byproduct" and failure very often.

But... Something happens and Solar is forced to come to Moon's dimension

here's Solar at his poor little meow meow "I have nowhere to go" stage and just... thought to go to Moon immediately due to their history.

Moon's only question about Solar moving in, is that if he wanted him to blacklist his dimension once he heard what was going on with his Moon.

And immediately, Solar jumps in to help Moon with his problems.

Also during the halloween takeover part 2 electric boogaloo, Solar was the one to help get Sun and Moon back after being teleported to a different dimension with no hopes of returning

Also, after Ruin was cured and Bloodmon ran off, Solar rebuilt the ruined Daycare in a week. And Moon is so grateful for it. (i rewatch this episode a lot. It cemented the ship in my mind and built the commodity that they've been building up for months)

We also get what Solar's daily life is like so far... How out of place he feels, being someone from a different dimension, despite the Brothers (and sister's) insistence, he still doesn't really feel like he's part of the family. He feels like an outsider. (He also has less opportunities to hang out with Lunar. As he expressed interest in playing games with him like the good old days, and as of recently, they have not yet)

also a good example of the Celestial family changing minds on family dynamics because they are robots. Lunar flat out rejected Vegeta-Animatronic is his brother even if he technically is. Like, they're robots. They can change their relationships to each other based on their word. I like to see it more flexible then it is in reality with actual people/humans.

Moon also trying to make Solar feel comfortable and feel like he's adjusting well here. Expressing his concern for him doing so much for him and his family. And hoping to not pressure him into so much work.

As of recently, his Sun died, and he killed his Moon. And in his therapy session (on the Lunar and Earth Show) he expressed regret over "Leaving" them...

But he has not properly told anyone about this.

My reasoning is that he probably thinks that the family will jump on the chance to call him "Evil" .....They don't have good luck with Eclipses.... and every Eclipse they met other than him has been Evil. (that must weigh on you. Every version of yourself is deemed as evil across every dimension. You are the only good one. Maybe there is something wrong with you)

I'm already at the video limit, but on Lunar and Earth show, there is an interesting episode where Lunar goes into Solar's head, and his mindscape looks like the Willy Wonka TV room, because it was a movie he watched with his Sun before they separated and Sun died. Showing that he did care about his Sun a whole lot... Which is probably why he doesn't interact with our Sun that much alone.

He also compartmentalizes everything before he can feel emotions, playing his own memories in third person as if he's not experiencing them.

Not to mention, he organizes and separates his thoughts on NewMoon and HIS Moon, just so he won't associate the two.

I also missed what episode it was, but Solar is always the first to call Moon out when he's being angry, or irrational, and Sun admits in his therapy session, that Solar is the only person who can calm Moon down. (mainly cus he's used to it, but unlike his old moon, this moon listens)

Anyway...

I love Solar a lot, can you tell?

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

the plain sight of our destiny is the cruellest thing of all - yeah, hope and joy are not really on the menu in Sauron-era Umbar.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

The Face of Spring ... if we ignore canon (which I did while writing it, because I am deluded). This fic is basically an increasingly rapid slide into complete joy (again, don't look at the canon). Otherwise probably Victory in Defeat. (I find it kind of neat that both of these fics feature members of the House of Eorl being absolutely head-over-heels in love with their partner. Because that is the true meaning of happiness.)

Do you write crossovers?

No.

Nope.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

No, although never say never. I never thought I'd write darkfic but here we are.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

A Hunger Games fic from a few years ago. I love the characters dearly but there isn't really enough plot to hold it together.

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue, I think, and descriptions of emotion.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Any descriptive passages. Why can't I just project my vision into my readers' brains? Why? (Although I have been informed by @from-the-coffee-shop-in-edoras that I write disgusting grime and water-logged corpses very well :D)

I also hate outlining which is objectively bad because outlining helps so much.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Full sentences? No. The odd phrase in Sindarin/Quenya? Sure.

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

The Fall of the House of Usher. That show is still eating my brain and I need to exorcise some of my thoughts. I don't know if I'll end up posting anything or if it will be coherent enough to post but I'm gonna have a crack at it the minute all the vitamins I'm taking kick in and I have energy again.

What's your favorite fic you've written?

I love all my fics for different reasons but at the moment I'm feeling particularly proud of out of the water, cold and blue, because it was just such an experience to write and I am so, so happy with how it turned out. I really enjoyed torturing writing Tar-Míriel and Elendil and their terrible, tragic, twisted dynamic very normal lord-vassal conversation.

yep, almost all! if i receive several in a row, chapter after chapter and by the same person, than i will more likely just respond to the last one, but i do like giving an answer to any feedback and show of love i get!

um, good question. i don't think I've written a true angsty ending. i have several open/ambiguous endings, but the ending for me and the devil (gv, aleksander/alina) is the most ambiguous of the bunch just because it can be interpreted as alina just going stir-crazy from being alone and forgotten for so long and imagining aleksander by her side and staying with her, so it can be angsty if you take it that way.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

with the sun against our back (gv, aleksander/nikolai) cause they end up pseudo married and ruling together (yay!)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

nope! too small a fandom writer for that and i'm ever thankful for it!

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

me? smut??? XD just look at the rating for each fic and the associated tags, i guess i do love developping characters through the very intimate act of them falling in bed together. no real kinky sex or anything, but there's often lots of hidden (and not so hidden) feelings behind the act. most smut i've written can be considered rough and/or passionate, since there's a kind of desperation born out of the characters thinking they only have that one single time to be with the other so they're giving their all. i do love exploring the vulnerabilities that come from that for sure!

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

no i haven't. it's never really been my fav thing, but if done well, it'd read one.

i don't think so, not to my knowledge.

none, i'm just terribly slow right now. life is throwing a ton of shit at me (dog being very sick, work is horrible, energy at the lowest point), but i keep daydreaming about each fic and slowly coming up with future parts in my head if not on paper.

16. What are your writing strengths?

ah man i don't know, getting into the character's head for which i'm writing the pov from, making their thoughts and feelings just as important as anything going on. i guess because of that i strongly favour inner conflict storylines.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

too wordy. also pantsing my way thru a fic instead of really sitting down and coming up with a plan ― we are the wild youth chasing visions of our future really forced me to come up with a strong plan, which i never would have been able to do without @theonewiththeory's immense help, girl i never would have been able to achieve what i did without you!! it is my first fic in english, the first one i wrote as an adult, and it shows, but i'm still proud of it! but i definitively continue to struggle with planning and too often i fall into the bad habit of vibing along with it. also, big external-conflict plotting is a hard thing for me, tho i wish i could become better at it since it's always so fun as a reader and i'm always impressed by writers who pull an intricate plot so flawlessly!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i'm not a fan of it. so often the other language is plain up butchered, and there are ways to do it without having to juggle the hassle of writing a dialogue in another language and needing to translate it so the reader knows what's going on. but as all things, they are exceptions to the rule and anything can be done well!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

oh man the lord of the rings (with a very mary sue oc even! but i remember having such self-indulging fun with that oc and all the research needed to flesh the story out) and the legend of zelda/ocarina of time (at least i went with link for my mc in this one!)

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

when i was 12, i started a complete rewrite of ocarina of time which i of course never posted online. it was in french and i was only doing it for fun. but i still have one version of it and oh boy is it cringe-worthy XD big fail, i read that question as the first fic written ― my brain is really elsewhere these days. my fav fic is definitively with the sun against our back (gv, aleksander/nikolai) which became a comfort reread when i need to feel better by reading about familiar and intimate characters. the whole series (of monsters and men) is something i'm really proud of, even with its faults and misgivings, but that third and final part has left me with the biggest impact personally.

Okay I just want to say I love your King Luigi AU so much! I love the style you chose to draw this in! I was just curious, how do you balance both the comedy and the angst? Both are written so well! I never got feedback before this project. I wrote fanfiction as a teen but never showed them to anyone, and I didn't write for long. Today, I could not write a fanfiction if my life depends on it. Not even in my first language (german) 🤣

I started with art early but never showed it to friends or family, and I was mostly ignored when I posted it online and seeing my old stuff today; I got better very slowly. (+I haven't drawn or anything for years in between)

Thinking about it; this King!Luigi AU is the first (big) project I put out there.

I never learned to write or construct stories properly (even when I tried), but I consumed a lot! And I used and morphed the stuff I liked best for ideas I would form in my head. My brain was ALWAYS active with this.

And that's it, really. 🤔

They don't exist anywhere on paper. But I shared a lot of ideas with my (soon to be) wife. We both always liked drama, angst, and hurt+comfort. XD It always has to be comfort in the end.

The comedy part is just me. Somehow. Or so I've been told. This comes from nowhere.🫠 I seem to make people laugh, and most of the time, I don't know why🤣

What I learned in the end;

Just keep going! You will always become better at some point, even if it's slow.💪🏻

2023 Year Results

I have lost my ranking of favorite Thai BL/QLs that I made during half of the year, so I'm just going to write it anew^^

My Top BLs by the end of 2023:

5. Semantic Error (or if we talk only Thai series, then Bad Buddy!)

Honorable mentions: Only Friends, SOTUS, Laws of Attraction, Kieta Hatsukoi, My Ride...

I keep changing the places and Moonlight Chicken held such a strong place in my heart but now I'm also taking into account whether I liked all pairings and characters, so BMF finally took over. But I still can't decide whether The Eclipse is higher than Not Me, I might rewatch it endlessly but Not Me was a cultural reset :D As well as Semantic Error who's done so good and finally broke through the typical Korean BL setting and public's favor.

Bad Buddy has done amazingly as well but there are only 5 places in Top 5 ranking 🥲 I guess, the Our Skyy just dimmed my good memories about it a little bit x)

I love how this year we got shows that have expanded beyond the borders of usual BLs, they added mystery and mystic, action, time travelling, sitcom etc, mixed gentes, kept speaking out about many important things - from marriage legalisation to equal rights - that definitely had its own impact on real life, actors went on many fanmeetings overseas, from West to East, and overall... This was a good year, story and fandom wise.

My Fanfic Statistics

I stopped writing metas and somewhat distanced myself from the fandom when I felt that my views often didn't align with majority (and also got shadowbanned by tumblr?), but I wrote ~ 80k words on AO3 and drew >10-15 arts that I really enjoyed. I still have many wips so look forward to them!

I wrote way too many Only Friends fics whole I watched the show xD This was definitely a show that gave out ideas (and sometimes outrage) and lots of angst.

But Not Me fics are still my number one (though mostly because of all the crossovers with other series I keep writing about)

Also somehow Bad Buddy OT4 fic is now the longest fanfic I've ever written (both in Neglish and my native language). And it's still not finished but tbh even I don't know exactly how it will end, that's how self-indulgent this is but I'm so happy rhat many people were excited about this idea with me!

My Fandom

I also had a blast having various discussions in my own small community and people who wanted to share opinions and watch series together. You guys keep inspiring and supporting me in exploring many ideas, drawing art and writing many fics, I truly admire and adore you all, especially my fam @springkitten @xagan and also @thepancakelady @wereflamingo (I'm surprised how often we agreed with each other on somethjng but that's what makes discussions interesting xD).

Also I want to hug bad buddy server was a joyful discover this year too that inspired me to start learning Thai, our not me server that keeps being my safe comfort space and many hugs to some tumblr folks who I talk in replies and reblogs (I am truly bad at remembering usernames but if I ever chatted with you here, I am definitely thinking about you and your profile picture <3)

Here's to 2024 and more projects

I also started my FirstKhao AU visual novel, and though I thought I would be able to make it in a month or two and then got struck by Health Doing Bad for a long time, I'm definitely determined to finish it next year.

And we keep talking about making Poetry Zines with @springkitten inspired by lakorns/bls we watched and I'd like to try and make it happen 👀

I also want to return to commissions in a better way, because of political situation I haven't been able to continue drawing for my foreign friends but thanks to my other friends who are generous to help me with handling finances for me, I might be able to start drawing requests again! I also spent like 5 months fixing my health that kept me from creating I want to finish old ones and I'm really itching to return to drawings and other projects :D

And I have in my mind mastering pixel and 3d art as a part of my Changing Profession and Career Path in 2024 so let's hope I can lighten up everyone's mood with cooler art and animations 👀

These days, almost exclusively HP, though I've written a few little oneshots for Lois & Clark.

I wouldn't say I've ever got full-blown hate, but I've got a few negative comments, most of them for writing Sirius/Lily. Stuff like 'Sirius would never do that to James' - even when it's a story where the Sirius/Lily part is fake dating and James is actually aware of it and endorsing it. xD The mind boggles.

9. Do you write smut. If so, what kind?

I write some smut, yes! M/F, mostly vanilla stuff. :p

Not really! Though one day I want to finish that fic where Lily is a L&C fan. xD

A couple! Apart from taller than the trees which I've already mentioned, I'd cowritten a fic for L&C with my friend Raquel.

My old WIP Through Times Of War. It was my attempt to write Book 7 before DH came out. I still remember my plans for it, I had an ending and everything, but I'm just not interested in that era anymore.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done it once - had Fleur and her family fight in French about Bill, in listening range of the Weasleys. I think that, if you're going to write dialogue in another language for a fic, it has to serve a narrative purpose. I don't like it when characters speak in another language or drop random words/endearments just to show off the writer's headcanons about where they're from.

HI ACE, ok. so i had a conundrum trying to answer this ask.

the game is for a fic i haven't written but have daydreamed about, right, but i'm all caught up on the logistics of what counts as "written" bc the first thing i do when i get an idea for a fic is write up an outline for it into my notes, then bang out a couple hundred words of zero draft so i have something to come back to later.

but i'm gonna say "written" = a completed draft? mostly bc i really wanna tell you about my arospec Simon fic—which i have started, technically, but most of the fic is still unwritten daydream slop, so i think it counts.

i'm gonna hide this under a cut tho bc this is about to be such a long post, and i really do mean a LONG post. i am so sorry.

ok, so.

the title of the fic (almost all my ideas get titles right away) is "The Refraction and Dispersion of Light Through a Prism" and it starts Watford-era but doesn't stay that way for very long, the majority of the story takes place post-Watford.

but n e way, yeah. starts Watford sixth year with Simon and Agatha breaking up. LOL, they have a good break-up tho. there is a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot of Simon-Agatha friendship in this fic bc i love Simon-Agatha friendship, it's good for my mental health. (i have the break-up scene written but i'm not gonna share it here since then i'd really be breaking the rules of the game) (but the gist of it is just Simon telling her he wants to go back to being friends and they're both super chill about it.)

and since the break-up goes so well, the two of them carry on as normal, being friends, and when winter comes Simon still goes to Agatha's place for Christmas, where Agatha ends up coming out to Simon as aroace, and as she's explaining what that means for her, Simon is sitting there like, "oh wait, oh wait, oh wait..." and he cuts her off like, "Aggie i think i might have something to tell you," and Agatha is like, "... no," and Simon's like, "... yeah," and Agatha is like, "NO," and Simon is like, "YEAH," and then she laughs, and he laughs, and they hug, and have a whole moment together, and that's where Watford-era ends.

canon is changed to: it is all the same, but when the Visiting happens, the truce, all of that, Simon and Agatha are obvs on good terms so he goes home with her like usual, never goes to Pitch manor, but he still ends up losing his magic and killing the Mage and getting wing-and-tail-ified, so then the future goes: Simon and Agatha are roommates, Penny is in America with Micah since they never break up in this AU (i'm sorry Shep), and the story picks up from Baz's POV, who hasn't seen Simon Snow since he defeated the Humdrum bc Simon still fucks off and doesn't finish school and shit, he goes to live with the Wellbeloves after it all (and stays in therapy bc living with a doctor'll do that to a guy) (but it was for the best he's doing great these days) and Baz didn't think he'd ever see Simon again, but if he did, he really really really did not think it would be at PRIDE.

Simon is the one who spots him. Baz is there with Niall and some uni friends and Simon comes up behind him and is like "omg???" and Baz is like "omg???" bc Simon is fucking decked in rainbows and he's gained weight and looks so good and happy and alive and, "Snow... you have a tail..." and Simon is like, "you whot? oh, yeah, the Normals can't see it tho, s' what that little bell on the end is for," and that breaks the tension, and they start talking in that awkward way only people who aren't friends but who've known each other for way too long and just found out that they're both queer can, and eventually Agatha shows up and is like, "Simon, there you are!" and she has an aroace flag around her shoulders which immediately has Baz doing like, fucking mental gymnastics, meanwhile Agatha is sitting there like, "oh my god Simon 30 000 people are here and you still managed to find Baz Pitch i am so tired of you (affectionate)"

and Agatha super does not want to hang out with Baz. like, at all. (LMFAO) so Simon gives him his number and is like, "no more war, yeah? we should try again" and then wraps himself into Agatha's cape with her and they disappear into the crowd while Baz stands there steaming from his fucking ears. Baz plays it cool for a couple days before reaching out to Simon, and they start hanging out and going for coffee and stuff, but there is like... oh man... there's a massive miscommunication happening here, y'kno?

and it comes to a head when Simon invites Baz back to his and Agatha's flat to watch a movie and they go to his room and there's an aromantic flag on his wall, above his bed, and Baz is like, "..." and then he remembers Simon going under the aroace flag with Agatha at pride, and is like "... ah."

meanwhile Simon is completely oblivious, he is digging around in his messy ass room like, "where the fuck is my laptop? i know it's here, i was watching Heartstopper like five hours ago."

and Baz says, "i think i should go," and Simon looks at him all confused and replies, "what, why? i'll find it, just give me a—" and Baz cuts him off, "Snow, i thought this was a date... i thought what we've been doing... going out... i thought—"

Simon: "oh."

Baz: "yeah."

Simon: "fuck."

and they stand there for a while, until Baz repeats that he thinks he should leave, and Simon starts shaking his head furiously and his face is flushed, he looks like he's going to cry, and he starts up with, "you don't have to, please, i mean we're fine, aren't we? we're still friends, we can still—let's just watch a movie, yeah? and we don't have to talk about it, we don't... we can just... i mean, we're..." and Simon covers his face and drops onto the edge of his mattress and whispers, "i'm sorry. i just wanted to watch a movie. i'm really sorry."

Baz doesn't get what Simon is apologising for, he hasn't done anything wrong, so he tells him as much, and this is kind of where the idea starts losing detail for me a bit, but they have a nice long conversation and work things out and end up staying friends, and watching their movie, and they keep spending time together and stuff, but Simon can tell that Baz is keeping his distance from him now in a way he wasn't before, and he thinks it shouldn't bother him, but it does.

he's bothered by how far away Baz sits from him on the sofa, or walks beside him, or stands next to him. he's bothered by the fact that Baz won't hold his hand now, or bump their shoulders together when he makes a joke, or hug him goodbye. he's bothered that Baz doesn't text him nonsense about his day all the time, or send him selfies, or use emojis anymore.

so, he does what he always does when he has a problem he doesn't know how to fix: he goes to his girls about it.

Agatha and Simon get Penny on facetime and prop her up on the coffee table so she can see them both and Simon tells them what happened and what changed and how he's feeling about it, and it's Agatha who suggests that Simon has a crush on Baz, and Simon is like, "top 10 stupidest ideas???" but Penny is like "no, no, Simon, it makes sense, if you liked how Baz was with you when he thought you were dating and don't like how he is now that he knows you're not..."

Simon is like, "but that doesn't make sense, i don't do... that," and Agatha is like, "maybe you do, with Baz. the definition of aromantic is little to none. maybe he's your little."

Simon: "no, i hate that. you're making it sound like he fixed me."

Agatha: "you know that's not what i'm saying, i just mean being aroace is a spectrum, Simon. you're allowed to like him and still be aroace."

Simon: "i... guess. i don't know. i mean, you're right, i just—i feel like i'm too old to be worrying about this shit, i just want..."

Penny: "what do you want?"

Simon: "i want him to stop being weird! i want him to like me and want to touch me and be around me again like he was before, and i want that to be enough. but i don't want it to have to be something else for it to be enough."

and yeah, at that point, the idea breaks down into nothing but a bunch of random colours and weird blobs in my brain, but the gist of the fic is that in the end, Simon and Baz end up in a QPR and maybe Simon's feelings are romantic or maybe they're alterous or maybe they're just platonic, hell, who knows. not me. not Simon, either, but he doesn't feel like he needs to figure it out bc he and Baz find a place in the middle where they're both happy, and that's kind of the whole point of the fic. an exploration into the complex shapes identities and relationships can take.

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

I believe I was in middle school, early 2000s. I rented a book called Dragon's Bait by Vivien Vande Velde from my local library. This book probably had a bigger impact on me than a certain wizard book ever did. I loved it, it started my obsession with dragons, and It ended in such a way that the main characters, Alys and Selendrile, could continue to have many adventures together and eventually fall in love. But it didn't show that part, which i found frustrating at the time. I started daydreaming and imagining those adventures, writing them down in an old notebook. That's right, I wrote analog fanfiction. Mainly because I was like 11 and I had no idea that was a thing on the internet yet. Eventually by browisng I found the old FF.Net, before it coroded away, and live journal and all that and started reading fics for anime I liked, then I finally got the courage to start writing. Dragon's Bait still remains one of my favorite books though (I also like Never Trust a Deadman, Heir Apparent, Companions of the Night by the same author)

Book authors, I already recommended Vivian Vande Velde for a good all ages book. For a bit more adult books, I like Maria V. Snyder's books, Gail Carriger, and Lynn Flewelling

Personal lore about me? Um...When I was young, like ages 10, 11, and 12, my parents sent me to horse riding camp during the summer. I love horses, but I wasn't a horse girl. It's just, y'know, Texas and it was an easy one to find nearby and if i had to do summer camp I wanted to be able to ride a horse. Well, that year i was twelve, they decided to try and scare us with the story of a psycho in the woods. Except one of the counselors took it too far and ransacked the cabins a little (no damage but messing stuff up) and then tapping on the windows to scare us. A lot of us were scared and one girl started crying. The councilor in our cabin then told her it wasn't real and they were just trying to scare us, and I overheard her. I had two flashes of emotion then: Anger and the desire for revenge. And I don't know how I thought of this so fast--maybe because I'd started watching horror movies by now and liking them--but I asked her "So who was dragging the sack through the woods by the campfire?" I didn't see that, but I was so adamant I saw that and had such a docile reputation that the counselor ran off to talk to the head counselor. I saw their flashlights in the night. It was the last day of camp anyway but no one got much sleep. One counselor did ask if I lied before my mom came and I said "It's just a story, calm down." I told my mom i probably shouldn't go back again though. That's the only time I've ever gaslit someone I swear XD

🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings

I don't know of NIck/Sloane would count since Sloane is my OC so like...it's all headcannon there. Since most of my stuff written (well, all of it right now) on A03 is Grimm though, let's go with that. My other favorite ship is Monroe and Rosalee so let's see...I've gone into some on the fic...

One i haven't explored too much is their differences in diet. At the start of their relationship, Monroe would bend over backwards and almost hide his veganism because he'd had issues in the past with others finding it tedious or annoying. He's usually very proud of it, but he doesn't want Rosalee doing the same thing. Eventually, Rosalee had to confront him because his nervousness was making her more anxious than anything. She told him she was fine with him being vegan as long as he was fine with her not being vegan, and Monroe was adamant that he didn't want Rosalee to change a thing. He gets used to the smell of cooking meat again and they find side dishes they can share happily, and sometimes she made an all vegan meal she would enjoy as well. However, after one evening where he woged after an after dinner kiss and had to go on a run, he asked she brush her teeth after dinner just to be safe because the left over taste of meat set off a little blood lust. Rosalee now keeps her teeth very clean after meals.

Getting the Band Together director's cut please

Yeahhhhhh! Band AU! Band AU!

This was an exchange fic where I combined two prompts, both a song ("No Other Heart") and the concept of a band meet-cute. I haven't done much in the way of writing Band-centric stories, so I wasn't 100% sure what a meet-cute scenario would mean, but I gave it my best shot.

While I don't know a lot about bands or how they work behind the scenes, I took a stab at it, basing most of that stuff off of television an movie tropes, as well as what I observed in my wizard rock days, when I very occasionally helped volunteer to help with shows (because what else are you supposed to do if you own a moon bounce in a college town). It was a sweet taste of nostalgia for me, getting to revisit some of those memories.

I *also* got to give a little nod to one of my favorite art forms, the zine/band poster. I have a deep love of the texture of photocopies, so I had a lot of fun designing the (totally unnecessary) banner for the story, and playing around with the image until it had that indie rock show poster look. It might actually be my favorite part of fic. XD

Even though this story takes place during the gang's college years, it also let me brush up against their high school experiences, with Foggy talking a lot about how he perceived things back then, and how much things felt like they had changed for the others while he had remained largely the same. Maybe that's why he's so determined to seek out his own path in the end, it was his opportunity for a metamorphosis.

I really enjoyed getting to bring Marci and Brett into things, especially as more meaty side characters who are help driving the events of the story rather than just being convenient exes etc, Marci especially. While I think she's probably a very capable attorney, I think she's also got a streak of perfectionism, she's someone who would seek excellence in any whatever field she chose, and if she was artistically inclined, she wouldn't settle for anything less than "making it". But I think her self assurance also comes with a price- in this case, being oblivious to the feelings of her bandmates, and never really talking things out with them.

And of COURSE it's a Christmas story- or at least Christmas makes an appearance. Is it even a thelonebamf joint if people aren't drinking hot chocolate and running around in the cold? But I needed to get Foggy into a church and if the Nelsons ever make a go at observing any kind of religion, I imagine they're Easter-Christmas Catholics, or at least some of them are- but they are more importantly family oriented, so if Grandma wants to go to mass, they're going to mass.

AND PIANO MATT. Defenders was mediocre but it gave us Matt playing the piano and I just think that's neat. More people should find a way to include this in their story. As whatever as Defenders was, I think it was a cool way to give us some information about Matt's character besides exposition, and a unique way of uncovering a clue. LET MATT PLAY THE PIANO.

Anyways- those are some of my feelings on that fic. I ended up liking it quite a bit, I don't think there's much I'd change about it, or anything I wasn't able to fit in. It's probably not a story I would have written for myself, which is why I enjoy participating in exchanges- they force you to get creative!

#16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?

Oooh boy. Not as many as other writers I know, but still too many. I have a fic I'm writing for TRSB- since that one has a deadline it's my top priority for now. I'm also writing one last only-one-bed fic with Faramir and a short Legolas/reader fic for @the-girl-with-the-algebra-book called In Sickness and in Health. I have vague plans for a Boromir-centered murder mystery too.

And someday I swear to God I'm gonna write my Christmas in Connecticut AU, I don't care if it takes me 20 years I'm gonna do it!!

#20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

Every time I notice I'm using a word or phrase really often I cringe because I was always taught that was a horrible writing sin. I'm trying to make peace with the fact that writers have their habits just like anyone else.

But as for common themes, the first one that comes to mind is just a lot of yearning XD I haven't written many established relationships before. I just prefer to write about the pining-from-afar stage, which probably says a lot about the state of my romantic life

#55. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

I'm gonna try to think of an answer that's not just Boromir, because that feels too obvious. (but the answer is boromir. because i'm very predictable)

I really enjoy writing Sam, he's just so sweet and fun and I think I've got a lot of his mannerisms and speech patterns down pretty well. Eomer is also a lot of fun. I wasn't sure I was doing him justice (to be honest I'm still not sure I'm doing him justice) but I've gotten a lot of encouragement from readers about it and yes, that does kind of bump him higher up on the list of favorites lol

That's a tough one. Probably a lot of comedy where there shouldn't be any, characters yearning for each other everywhere you look, and Boromir is there even if it doesn't make sense for him to be there, he just shows up and refuses to die

Huh, Surprising considering your awesome fan work of the franchise. But hey, I've been there myself before with some of my fandoms. XD As for Spiderverse, I haven't seen them, though I personally do like superhero films. Even HT itself I was into it when it came out, but I only really started hyperfixating recently after watching HT3.

They're cartoony and definitely don't take themselves too seriously. And while definitely deeper and more heart-felt than they appear in some ways, they aren't Shakespeare by any means. Unfortunately, that often seems to get labeled as cringe by default in today's world. And anything seen as cringe is written off as annoying, torn apart, and/or forgotten; no matter their merits. This seems to happen quite a bit with Sony films other than Spiderverse, including Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (Not only was it a great movie, it actually had alot more practical effects than you'd think! Many of the ghosts were either played by real people OR represented by real things on set. Worth mentioning in a day and age when movies are becoming almost all green-screen. Really, it's biggest problem was poor marketing and a reactionary fanbase.)

People are allowed, of course, to have different opinions. And it HAS been 10 years. But I've seen people call the Spiderverse films ground-breaking due to the stylized animation while putting down films like HT for being cartoony despite the fact the HT films were one of the first ones to do stylized cartoony CG animation. (Not to mention other good points, like not all the female characters look the same, they're allowed to be cartoony like the guys - including the love interest characters, which aren't all conventionally attractive or look super young, etc.) Even those that DO acknowledge it often do so rather begrudgingly. Some mourned the lost opportunities from the cartoony direction it took in terms of the more realistic past iterations (Which, true, would have been interesting to see. But part of the film's charm IS the unique cartoony take on monsters.)

As much as I believe Spiderverse deserves kudos and they've done great progress in getting animation the respect it deserves. This is not an attack on them at all. It just feels like animation fans at large are kinda forgetting HT existed or dumping on it because "Ew, cartoony and cringe". Which makes the current praise for Spiderverse as if it's the first ever film - or even first ever Sony film - to do stylized animation seem kinda hypocritical. HT's the one that started the trend. It showed that stylized computer animation is possible, that old "It's animation, we can do whatever we want" idea that kinda went by the wayside as Disney and later Pixar got big. And it and gave the animators the tools and knowledge on how to translate cartoony stylization into a computer generated world. Movies like Spiderverse, Inside Out, Trolls, Peabody and Sherman, and Puss in Boots: Last Wish probably wouldn't be NEARLY the same without the innovations made on the HT films. It's like how Monsters Inc revolutionized how clothing, hair and fur are done in animation, or how The Incredibles was with people animation and clothing materials. Yes, HT is very much a clown car made by Ferrari. But the fact this clown car was even fully POSSIBLE was virtually UNHEARD of back in 2012, and it doesn't get NEARLY the respect it deserves for that.

Whether you enjoy the films OR think they're cringe, Genndy and the HT franchise at LEAST deserve more respect from animation fans for introducing cartooniness to CG animation (And to a certain extent, making cartoony animation - Particularly in features - cool again in general.)

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

i have the memory of a snail and nothing has bothered me enough to remember (i take most concrit and stuff with a grain of salt) but i hate the pushing of show not tell. i just think it's detrimental to the growth of a new writer the way it's taught. no one ever goes into the nuances of it, they just go "your readers want detail! don't tell them your character is crying! show them the tears streaming down their face, their skin turning red, them hyperventilating! be descriptive!" and it's like no. sometimes you just need to say a character is crying. not everything needs to be overly described as i think it takes from the beauty of what is described, y'know? prose shouldn't all be poetry. you should have moments of poeticism because that is what'll stick with a reader, not the shade of green the grass was.

so basically my opinion on show and tell is: if it doesn't set the scene, if it doesn't matter to the story, tell it. that's very much oversimplified but i think you get the point.

27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?

this is kinda loaded for me because it really depends on the day. generally speaking tho i loveeeee a good exposition/scene setting moment. this includes both description (like a room, clothing, etc.) and stories. in my long fic i have plenty of expository bits that can almost be entirely removed from the fic itself and still stand their ground. i've even posted some of them here (like this one about seb's birthday). overall i just fuck with description like crazy and could write an entire story with that and internal monologue and i wouldn't have much of a struggle. conversations are important and i've grown to love dialogue over the years, but i'll always be a description lover at heart.

as for my least favorite part? time and pacing. i already have a complex relationship time irl so this is like,,, even harder for me. and it sucks because i do a ton of research on things to make them accurate to the story timelines and even have notes about when things occur to help me keep track yet i still mess them up. i think time is one of 3 big reasons i haven't posted my long fic yet and won't until it's 100% done. i just don't catch things in the initial draft sometimes and also change around ideas as i get to know characters and storylines a bit better.

40. If someone were to make fan art of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

holy shit dude if anyone made anything based on my writing i would fucking explode??? already kinda did after this post knowing they got brainrot from me and my samalex fic-- generally speaking though, i think you can tell exactly what bits mean a lot to me in my stories. they're described in very particular, very vivid ways and tend to have a lot of movement.

i think if i have to give specific examples here though, one of them would be That ™️ scene with sam/seb on winter 10, the scene with welwick on winter 17, anything from the flower dance (y2), and something i haven't written but know very well, a scene from summer 20 (y2). none of this matters to anyone but you though because it's not out LOL

(but for future reference... winter is my favorite season of the entire fic and it spans from spring y1-fall y2. so like,,, anything from there would send me to the MOON)

65. Tell us what you're most looking forward to writing -- in your current project, or a future project.

i'm working on a couple of things right now so i'll answer accordingly.

in my long fic (baby seasons change, but people don't) i'm most looking forward to summer 20 (y2). it's sam's 21st birthday chapter and it's been rolling around my head for about six weeks now. it's just SO FUCKING FUN DUDE. top three bits of the fic for me and i haven't even written it yet XD

in my current short fic (late dawns, early sunsets -- a zombie apocalypse au fic) i'm most looking forward to a particular argument that happens at the end of chapter 4. the entire thing is whump so i'm not... super happy or excited per se, but the scene is very complex emotionally and i feel like i'm gonna make sam come to a few realizations in that moment. there's only 6 planned chapters so this is very much the turning point. him and seb are also very drunk so there's that added layer of complexity.

i have a few of ideas for future projects that aren't just sambastian. i fuck with that ship heavy but i also have some pretty layered ideas for another samalex kinda thing, a different samalex fic that i'm contemplating making a samsebalex thing, and to cope with whatever the fuck i did to sebalex in my long fic, i might conjure up something for them too. i also wanna write haley/abby into my fics a bit more because they don't get nearly enough time to shine and i love love love their dynamic. so maybe i write a short story for them to satisfy those brain worms. we'll see.

Since I haven't written anything besides my chapter in the TDJ Collab Fic I'm only gonna answer the few questions that make sense to me xD

1. Biggest surprise while writing this year? I was so nervous about writing for the first time but once I started I kept getting more ideas and had to stop myself from trying to incorporate too much into the chapter xD

2. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year? Only one so far and I don't know if I will actually write it but it's just this idea I got while listening to music. A Gahan fic based on 'Sailor Song' by Gigi Perez, some of the lyrics are just very Yohan coded to me

3. Your favorite character to write this year? Mr Kang Yohan, I love him dearly and I'm glad I finally mustered up the courage to write him

4. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year? I didn't exactly struggle but there was a lot of going back and forth in my head when it came to Lawyer Ko. We don't get to see that much of him in the show so I wasn't entirely sure if what I was writing was in character but it ended up working out I think ^^

5. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year? I really want to write more Gahan, I have so many thoughts and ideas about them that I just never share/write down so maybe it's time I finally do that

6. Did you receive any gifts this year? Yes! And each one absolutely melted my heart. I can't believe that I stumbled into this fandom a little over a year ago and managed to make some amazing friends who are great writers at that! All of the gifts I received were by @gaylilsherlock and I love each and every one

7. Did you do any collaborative works this year? Kinda self explanatory after my intro to this but yea, the TDJ Collab Fic I guess ^

8. What do you listen to while writing? My Gahan inspired Spotify Playlist! Most of the songs hold a special place in my heart and give me new ideas sometimes

9. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? I'm really happy with how the first few lines to my chapter turned out! and the way the emotions of all 3 characters come across through their action: The smile quickly fades from his face as Ko Inguk glares at him with eyes that look like they could kill. He quickly steps through the door, pushing past a stunned Gaon and launching himself at Yohan with a raised fist. The man who was usually so calm and collected in any situation was now charging at Yohan, ready to punch him straight in the face. Yohan just stands there, unable to react or move. He understood why Gaon was angry but this caught him off guard.

Gaon's brain quickly catches up to what is happening, grabbing Ko Inguk by the arm and stopping him dead in his tracks. The man slowly lowers his fist, tension fleeting from his body as Gaon's trembling hand on his arm grounds him. He hears Gaon whisper “Please, don’t hurt him…” and sighs heavily in defeat as Gaon slowly releases his hold of him.

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done?” Ko Inguk's voice echoes through the awkwardly silent apartment. Gaon, who was now standing off to the side, turned his head to look away and downcast his eyes, avoiding Yohan's searching gaze. His eyes flick back to the man in front of him who was still staring at him, a dark storm raging in his eyes. Yohan opens his mouth but shuts it again almost instantly as he struggles to find something to say.

Okay this is going to be a Long post. And I mean Long.

The Aelleimene Universe:

So this AU follows Luke, a transmasc gay man, and starts off very slice of life like but turns into an aetherpunk adventure fic. I don't actually have much for it published yet. Luke has two siblings, Amber and Edwin, both of whom he is helping trade for college admissions by working on an airship. While Amber is going to college to become a fashion designer, Edwin is going to college to get a degree in Aelleimene Research and Usage. What Luke wants to do is become a tinkerer, like his parents, but at the moment that's not possible. Now you might be going, what is Aelleimene? (1. It is a word I completely made up with the help of @duck-in-a-spaceship that basically means magic). But 2, it is this magical force that some can manipulate to do their will, in the current setting the government decrees that you have to have a license to use Aelleimene because it's very dangerous and hard to control. Some things to note: 1. Aelleimene is guarded by the 4 sisters, which were made by the Aelleimene itself to protect it. (Which is an almost lost legend at this point) 2. All 4 sisters have to agree to close off Aelleimene to the world in order for it to completely stop working, but if an individual sister decides to close it off, it just becomes weaker. 3. The plot comes in because of this, one of the sisters is kidnapped by the government, and in response 2 of the sisters start the process to shut off Aelleimene. (The 3rd one doesn't, but that's because of her visit with Luke before this happens). Other fun facts: This world works on a trade/barter system that I've set up! Love interest, Anthony, knows some sign language (based on ASL because that's what I'm currently learning).

Adventures in the Mad Forest (AitMF) Podcast

While I've been mainly posting about this on my @adventures-in-the-mad-forest blog, I've been talking about it recently here as well! About: It's about Glacie, and their coworkers, who all work at the Meeting Point. The Meeting Point being a shop/restaurant located near the Mad Forest. Coming back from a pretty long break, due to their own unreality problems popping up, Glacie is warned that the forest grows hungry. After some incidents, Glacie's hallucinations start getting real bad, and they eventually venture forth into the Mad Forest. Some Notes: Glacie is based off of me and has bipolar 1 disorder with hallucinations and delusions. The Mad Forest uses magic to make you go mad with hallucinations/seeing things, and amplifies it in those who already deal with such issues. If you go into the Mad Forest, it starts making the hallucinations and delusions more and more potent, almost real adjacent the deeper you are. People have died in there, and almost no one leaves without some form of scarring. Some things I want to achieve with the podcast are making any listeners who aren't reading the scripts question things. And, while I haven't written Season 2 yet (just finished season 1, looking for volunteer voice actors, but more on that in a bit) I have some ideas on how I want to 'show' the hallucinations, as in Season 1 you can't actually hear most of them. Again, the reason that is is because Glacie isn't in the Mad Forest yet so it's only amplifying them. I mentioned Volunteer Voice Acting Read this post and make sure you understand it completely if you're interested! If you're not, but think it's a cool project consider reblogging anyways maybe? You must be 18 years or older to volunteer (because of the workload) Please note this is Volunteer because I don't have the funds to pay people, but I am trying to get some! Mainly through kofi at the moment, but as time goes on I'll be expanding that hopefully. Fun Facts: This podcast was loosely inspired by the Spiral from TMA (The Magnus Archives). (It is almost nothing like TMA, I want to make that very very clear here, but that podcast did inspire this one.)
