For all the bravado Faolan uses as a shield, there’s something about him fundamentally broke, something that fell apart so long ago that few have the words to explain it. He grew up the son of a neglectful woman named Morrigan, one who left her son to roam the Otherlands alone for a decade before depositing a younger sister into his care. They trusted only each other, refusing to fall prey to other dangerous forces, scraping together a living from the work Faolan could take. He learned blacksmithing on his own, finding a talent in making weapons and tools, learning to fight from the people who required them until he, too, was an accomplished swordsman. Before long, people didn’t remember them as another set of hapless orphans, he was a craftsman and his sister a tailor, low in the Otherland hierarchy, but no longer begging to live. Faolan never knew if the name they made for themselves is what drew Morrigan’s attention, or if their mother had never quite let them escape her grasp, but it was several centuries later - a blink to some fae - when their mother deposited another sibling into Faolan’s arms: Fionn. The sibling banded together for a time, though the draw of something more drew Clíodhna from the Otherlands. Only a few decades after that, betrayal sent Fionn and Faolan to the human realms where their lives were forced to start over.

Someone who knew Faolan now would not recognize the man he was upon arriving in the human realm sometime in the 11th century. Charming and gregarious, he had no qualms with using his gifts to the superstitious humans, never quite making roots in this wild world. His brother bounced in and out of his life, caught up in the allure of this wild world, as Faolan himself often was. It was during his near hanging that he met Caoimhe Meallán who saved his life and offered her hand of friendship. Some centuries later: her hand in marriage. If anyone asked the day his bravado became a shield rather a personality trait, he would say it was winter in Ireland with his wife and three children, and the vampire who took their lives. His survival, like all the other things he had lived through, came from luck, leaving him only with scars and a healthy distaste for anything vampiric. It was a mistake to give someone old as he something to love and then take it away - and he couldn’t tell you what became of him in the centuries to follow. Every bit of it was a blur until the small town his sister chose to call home became a magnet for danger. Now the twenty-first century, Faolan finds himself waking up from a deep sleep, once more taking up the mantle and responsibility of caring for family - and he’s learned that love finds a way as his heart finds its home once more.

Closest HPHM Friends:

Bill Weasley: Aisling looks at him as a brother figure, and admires him. They are quite similar, that’s why Aisling quickly crushed on him - it did last for a while, but didn’t work in the end: Aisling understood they both need another kind of person, not their reflections. Their friendship, however, is really strong and they know they can trust each other. When they both have some free time, they enjoy sparring together - as adults, they would meet for a butterbeer whenever they could. Not to mention Molly Weasley herself would invite Aisling for tea.

Charlie Weasley: both prefects, both quidditch players - their bond slowly grows stronger. He was the one who asked her to join the Quidditch team as he saw her during flying lessons: at first the joined as his substitute. She kept that role whenever he could not play - but she would officially be a Chaser. She also really likes to hear him rambling about dragons: and she would often tell him stories with dragons and magical creatures. Sometimes they stay up until late at night preparing plans and strategies for Quidditch matches.

Barnaby Lee: a rocky start with the memorable threat “I’ll vanish your bones” to which Aisling replied with a sarcastic roll of her eyes. But his real nature surprised her: sweet, caring, protective and yet tough, she soon became really fond of him. He has a soothing and calming presence to her, which keeps her grounded and anchored to reality, but would still let her soar free. He does not force her to spill all her troubles: he would just simply stay with her, talk if needed, or in silence. He would respect all her boundaries, but would let her know he is there for her. (Little does she know that she has the same effect on Barnaby, as he finds her presence really refreshing). Their relationship would develop in something way more deeper and stronger.

Rowan Khanna: the first friend she had in Hogwarts. Understanding, caring, kind, even if a bit naive - still, they would clash from time to time, mostly because of Aisling’s tendency to isolate and become quite aggressive when she feels like she has the weight of the world on her shoulders. But Aislings knows Rowan is always willing to help her and she feels the same. She’s the shoulder Aisling can rely and cry on.

Penny Haywood: another great friend of her. They started bonding from their first year in Hogwarts - it didn’t take long for Aisling to trust her. Penny brings that bit of teenage life Aisling needs to forget at least for a while the Vaults and her research.

Closest MC Friends:

Aleksia Aries @thereluctantherosrose : dorm mates and team mates that love talking and gossiping together and training together. Aisling shares with her stories (as well as cookies) until late at night, when Rowan BEGS them to just stop. They may have two different tempers, but they fit really well together.

Revelio/Specialis revelio: one of the most useful charms in her job.

Expecto Patronum: one of her most powerful spells - she uses it also to communicate with other members of the Order of the Phoenix. It took her a bit of time to master this spell properly.

Protego Maxima/Protego Horribilis: along with the fog-charm, she uses this charm in her job to protect Muggles from danger.

Depulso and Stupefy: these are her go-to for duels - she tends to have an aggressive style, but she can be very sneaky when she wants to hurt.

Trivia:

She has Norse ancestors from her father’s side of the family: they arrived in Ireland during the age of Ivar the Boneless - the family is part of the Uí Ímair (Ivar’s dynasty). After centuries, they still live in the outskirts of Dublin.

Irish and Norse traditions are equally considered and followed in Aisling’s family, since both sides of the family are particularly conservative.

She speaks both Gaelic and English fluently. During her job as Curse-Breaker she learns German, Norwegian, Swedish. When she is really annoyed she easily switch for English to Gaelic.

It is told that in her family runs the blood of berserkers and warriors as well as the blood of seeresses (properly, a völva named Aslaug) - the female side of the Baskerville family seems to have inherited this last gift, although not as powerful as it was originally.

She always wears a necklace with two pendants: a mjöllnir and a triskell.

Aisling always brings with her a little sack which contains norse runes carved in the wood by her father as a gift. She “pretends” to play with those and reading the future, yet... her predictions often work.

She REALLY loves rain and thunderstorms: this kind of weather calms her. On lazy mornings/afternoons and sleepless nights she would sit by the window and watch the thunders and drops against the glass.

Aisling also really likes telling stories: she’s interested in mythology (especially Norse and Irish ones) and knows lots of legends. Her most famous stories are the ones about Tír na nÓg (the realm of youth) and Ragnarok (the end of the world) - although Ben if TERRIFIED by the last one.

She is quite the introvert type: she does not like clingy and noisy people. She may seem cold and detached at first, but as she opens up to people she shows her caring and protective side. She is also quite reckless, especially when it comes to her friends or the Vaults: she can be selfless and sometimes neglects to take care of herself.

Seems peaceful but she is actually really sarcastic and witty. Sometimes she herself does not even notice it. And she is really, REALLY stubborn and strong-willed.

She may gets anxious when she feels like the weight of the world is on her shoulders - in those moments she tends to be even quieter and to isolate. Not many would notice this, and often think this is her usual introvert self: yet Bill does understand her and manages to calm her (if not him, then it’s Barnaby).

She has a scholar soul: despite being a fast learner she studies whenever she can, even if it means staying awake at night. She loves learning, and it keep her mind busy.

Aisling loves music: she loves singing and dancing and is really good at both. Her mother taught her so many songs and lullabies when she was just a child, and her father taught her how to dance (actually, Aisling would simply copy the steps as she saw her parents dancing together, until her father would properly teach her). She can also play the piano and the flute: Hagrid even made a flute for her. (Actually trying to learn how to play the guitar). She is also REALLY interested in muggle music (especially rock and metal). Her voice is really sweet and soothing. (But beware: as a musician, she has the annoying habit of tapping her fingers on the desk/table).

As an adult, Aisling becomes a Curse-breaker, working for the Ministry of Magic. At first she follows Bill in his adventures to practise, but soon she works on her own - mostly in Ireland/Great Britain/Scandinavia. As the Ministry of Magic becomes more and more corrupted, she decides to act as a spy for the Order of the Phoenix, which she joined as soon as Tonks and Dumbledore asked her to.

Undercover, she went to Little Hangleton, following folk-voices about “a dark presence”, thinking this could be about Voldemort. She did find the Gaunts’ ring/Voldemort’s Horcrux - and was the one to talk to Dumbledore about the Horcrux: this was the hint to the beginning of the Horcruxes research.

Her theme music is Once there were dragons (from the HTTYD 3 ost).

Kaito was 8 years old when a larger pack decimated his. He only survived because one of the teenagers had noticed him and panicked, taking him and running. She risked her life to save him and because of this, Gráinne is the person he trusts the most but he still fully intends to take out the people that took his family from him.

With his level of rage and thirst for revenge, he’s definitely closer to Ren than he is Conri. Fiadh acts as sort of a middle ground because she can relate to both sides of that coin and she trusts Ren to keep Kaito safe and teach him how to protect himself.

Diana, however, knew just how easily they could take that all away - and that had been all that played in her mind as she partied at Delirium. Diana Johnson was born and raised in Hollywood. Her mother had moved to Los Angeles shortly after discovering that she was pregnant; after things with Diana’s ( albeit deadbeat ) father had gone south. Anabelle Johnson was a whirlwind of a woman; a woman who lived solely on whims and followed the beat of her heart with every step - and for her entire life, that beat had told her that she was going to be famous. Ana could have been described as somewhat of an airhead, but somehow, she managed to make her dream come true. As a young mother, acting and modelling was always going to be a tough gig, but she made it work. From the time that she could walk, Diana was taken along on her mother’s shoots - Diana Johnson grew up on sets, wandering behind production cameras and getting herself into places she shouldn’t. Luckily for her, Diana was an adorable child and soon enough, the acting gigs started to roll in for her, too.

As she grew older, the acting and modelling only grew to be more successful. She lived and breathed L.A, taking role after role and modelling gig after modelling gig to build her portfolio, always aiming for a level of stardom that seemed somewhat unattainable. That was, until she met Caleb Bianchi. Caleb would turn out to be the best and worst thing to ever happen to her. After a drunken night in one of L.As hottest bars, Cal was full of promises - he could make her a star, he had the connections to make her famous, he could give her everything she’d ever wanted. The only downside seemed to be that she’d have to move to New York. She’d thought, at first, he was some kind of unknown talent scout who could shoot her into superstardom - so the decision to follow him to New York came easily.

It was only after the move to New York that she discovered who his true connections were. He certainly wasn’t a talent scout, but a man with ties to the Mafia - who used his connections through the Angeli Mortis to put Diana into contact with those who would make her career. And make her career they did. Within months, Diana Johnson had reached the A List. It was everything that she’d ever wanted; she was in demand. The roles were fast and furious and money was rolling in faster than she could count - a profit always cut back to Caleb for getting her to where she was. In getting involved with the Angeli Mortis, she would come to meet Carlos Garcia, a man that would break down her walls.

Diana enjoyed the fame and fortune for a while, until Caleb began to take advantage of his profit cut. She’d always known that he was using her money to fund his lifestyle, and she’d always toed the line of a less than professional relationship with the man, eventually causing the end of her relationship with Carlos through cheating. Spending more time with Caleb led to a developing interest in drugs - and then led to her introduction to The Church. Diana had questioned it at first - trying to figure out where Cal’s loyalties actually lay - but in the end, she ended up questioning herself.

That was the beginning of Diana Johnson’s downward spiral. Questioning her loyalty and all too aware of what would happen to her career if the Romano family ever found out about her involvement in The Church, Diana set out to destroy herself before they could. She allowed her drug addiction to spiral out of control, allowed herself to be caught by paparazzi leaving clubs drunk and out of her mind, let herself show up drunk for auditions and allowed herself to be fired from one too many movies - she was no longer in demand, no longer wanted - simply another name in tabloid gossip columns, everyone insistent on chronicling the fall of a once Hollywood angel.

{ ♚ NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT }

The murders of Michael Romano and Juliet Venturi were news that Diana was not expecting to receive. Knowing that she has left her career in ruins and has attempted to cut ties with the Angeli Mortis has left her with no idea where to go next. She’s not sure if she wants to be involved in The Church - she’s never wanted to destroy the Mafia - but in ruining herself, what choice has she left? Her fall from grace has consistently been spiralling out of control - with nobody to stop her and a career left in the dust, Diana Johnson has nothing left. Being famous was once all she wanted, her lifes goal - and now that it’s all gone, she no longer knows who she is.

Diana has always been the opposite of her mother. Creative where her mother lacked, independent where her mother needed support, grounded when her mother was not. It built her into a different type of Hollywood monster - the type that people wanted to be. In truth, Diana is a fantastic actress. She’s always been able to be what people want - there’s always been a part of her that has drawn people in, and once they’re in, she can be anything that they need - whether they know it or not. Until now. Fear has seeped into her very bones - the idea of being a traitor resonating throughout her chest with every breath - and outwith the cocaine and party pills, self destruction has become her drug of choice. Better to be hated, than loved loved loved for what you’re not -- more than anything, she’d like to be forgotten; but with a reputation and following like hers, there’s no possibility that will happen. Left uncertain with what will happen to her in the wake of the murders of Michael Romano and Juliet Venturi, Diana has learned to keep her mouth closed. On the surface, she will always be the loudly spoken, attention demanding diva she has always been, but beneath that lives a frightened little girl who has never had the support system that she requires - and years without that aren’t helping her downward spiral.

{ ♚ FRIENDS & FOES }

♠ Carlos Garcia ( EX-BOYFRIEND ) - “do you think we could have made it?” ; Carlos was never anything more than a bit of fun to Diana. She drew him in and held him there - somewhat like a black widow clinging to her prey - and then dropped him when she got bored. Carlos, however, fell fast and hard for her - and was devastated by the breakup. Diana all but laughed in his face. It didn’t help when she revealed that she’d cheated on him - Diana had always lacked the ability to remain close to someone, commitment had never been her forte - however, she may have just let The One go. Carlos has long since given up on her, but Diana still has a twinge of feelings for the man - ones that she completely ignores, but the disappointment that sinks in her stomach any time she sees him is more painful than she’d care to admit.

♠ Caleb Bianchi ( FRIEND WITH BENEFITS ) - “break it then you buy it and it’s sure gonna cost ya.” ; Caleb is the reason she became involved with the Romano family, the Angeli Mortis and later, The Church. Caleb, being the person who got her where she is, has also always been the person that could take that all away. She’s not quite sure why, but she’s more than willing to follow him down the rabbit hole - no matter where she ends up in the process. She has no feelings for Caleb, but doesn’t regret allowing him to be a force in her destruction of her career - he’s one of the few people she has left, and she’s not sure that she’s ready to give up on him, too.

♠ The Romano Family & The Church ( ASSOCIATES ) - “this is the worst case of being stuck between a rock and a hard place that i’ve ever been in..” ; Originally loyal to the Romano family, Diana has become immersed in The Church through Caleb - and she no longer knows where her loyalties lie. Instead of trying to keep a support system around her, Diana has quite happily cut ties with the friends she’d made in both families - a fact noted by both the Romano and Venturi families. The Romanos will be investigating why, with Caoimhe McCoy pushing her for information that Diana is not quite willing to give up - yet.

Past

Ailis was born in the early 1900’s in Dalby Forest in Scarborough, England. Her mother, Siderli,was part of a tribe of wild elves that were isolated from most populations of other elves and humans. Siderli met Ailis’ father, Elelrin, when she was traveling closer to the Scottish border for hunting. He was searching the forest for an ancient flower that would help in a ritual that he was performing to help his sick child. While he was searching, he was almost attacked by a wild animal, but Siderli killed it before it could harm him. This set off a long, secret affair that produced Ailis. However, when Siderli turned up pregnant her tribe didn’t take it well. They didn’t take well to outsiders,so learning that the child that she was pregnant with was a mixture of different elves, they attempted to kill her, so she ran and was adopted into a small tribe of wild elves that were made up of run away or banned members of other tribes. Elerin in this time, finding out that he had a bastard child, refused to see Siderli anymore.

On April 29th, Ailis was born, and lived a rather normal life for a wild elf. She learned a lot from the elves around her, and became rather talented at hunting and magical abilities that she learned from her olders. When she was ten years old, her mother began to act strange, become erratic and having odd behaviors. She knew something was wrong, and Siderli knew that she didn’t have long to live. Wanting Ailis to have a good life, and knew that she would never struggle with her well to do father, dropped the young girl off on her father’s door steps. She told Ailis that she would return, gave her note to give to the man that would answer the door, and left.

Siderli never returned, and Elerin, suddenly had to admit to a ten year old secret to his wife and other children. They were not happy, but took the young girl in since Elerin refused to put her on the streets and she began her new life. This life was different, she didn’t live in the forest with a less civilized tribe of wood elves and was now living in an elven city with a father that she never knew, a step mother that didn’t like her, and two older siblings that thought she was some sort of alien. In this time, she learned what the other parts of her elven blood line was, and that her dad was very mixed.

She spent the next 5 years living under her father, he was a decent father, but her step mother and siblings were vile. They were stuck up high elves that treated her like she was a stupid savage that couldn’t speak. All of this wasn’t true as Ailis was extremely smart and ahead of everything that she did. This didn’t stop the abuse, and when she was 15, something suddenly snapped within Ailis and she killed her oldest brother. The murder wasn’t hard, in fact it was easy, and she held no sympathy for it. The one thing that she did know was that she would never be able to live here again. So, she packed what she could carry and left.

Ailis spent the next few years traveling across Europe stealing and using her skills to make money. This brought the attention of a guild of assassins that introduced her into their brotherhood and she started a very lucrative career as an assassin, though she took on the harder jobs of killing supernatural beings.

The next few decades was spent traveling and working, but her world was shifted differently when she met a young witch named Alywn and she fell in love with him. She never told him what she did for a living, she didn’t think anyone would approve of her being an assassin, so she told him that she was a trader that sold her goods in market places around the world. She put her life on hold to be with Alywn and over the next few years they had four children together. The first was a daughter named Dahlia, then another daughter named Poppy, before they had twins named Hawthorne and Hazel. Ailis was truly, fully happy for the first time in her very long life having this little family. It didn’t take long for that to be shattered away when in the middle of the night, Hazel was stolen from his crib. After long searches, they had no other choice but to believe that their son was dead, and they had to move on. Ailis, however, never truly moved on. She got stuck in a fear, a paranoia that something was going to happen to her other children.

She got possessive and protective of her daughters making sure that nothing would ever happen to them, but also making sure that they lived healthy, happy lives never knowing that anything bad had ever happen. She continued to play house wife and mother for a few years while her husband’s career took off, but assassin life came creeping back up when she got a visit from an old friend demanding that she returned to the guild or her happy life wouldn’t be so happy anymore. Ailis felt she had no choice, so to protect her family, she went back to hunting down supernatural beings that were deemed worthy enough of dying. She did, eventually, tell Alywn what she actually did, and told him that it was for the betterment of the world to do this. So, she spent the next 20 + years assassinating while her husband continued to build the family name, and they lived a very comfortable life, giving their children all that they could ever ask for.

Present

Nowadays, Ailis spends her days with her husband as often as she can, working, and whatever hobbies she can squeeze into her busy life. Two of their daughters were grown adults living their own life, and they only had a 16 year old daughter to worry about. The girls were very special, rare, younger women that had a lot of power in them that had to build guided and controlled, so her and Alywn are always open to continued training with them, especially Hawthorne since she was the youngest. Ailis would always breath easier knowing that her girls could protect themselves and didn’t need to hold so tightly onto them as she did when they were younger. It was a relief to the girls and to her, because she was always anxious that something bad could happen to them at any moment.

Ailis and Alwyn goal was always to keep their daughters out of messy environment that the Other World had became. She knew that they couldn’t protect them forever, but each Ailis and her husband did their parts in the fight against the rise in violence and death in their community. Alwyn did his little second jobs, and Ailis continued her assassination work and hunting of rouge magical beings.
