quick rules updates/blog organizing

I did some blog housekeeping today as I've been taking a little breather from my convention activities~

I added a few silly rp specific tags for castmates and this blog's Shitpost Lore TM. They're in the pinned now.

I also updated a few of my rules. To summarize:

Most important one: since I've been writing more about Artemis' backstory lately, I've revised the tw list on this blog to include domestic violence and past csa. Artemis is a csa survivor. I had intended to be fairly vague about that on this blog since it's such a commonly intense trigger for people (and I probably still will be), but unexpectedly a bunch of you have actually shown interest in learning more about this obscure little man?? Which is delightful to me, but now I want to warn more thoroughly about what's really going on with him, particularly if you guys wanna read any of the books :') I love you, thank you for your enthusiasm and be safe.

In practice, I've tended to flop between just regular text or -1 text in threads just mirroring whatever my partner is using, so I made a note about that as a stylistic choice. I think I'm also just gonna go Fuck It and start writing OOC and headcanon posts in regular text too from now on because it drives me nuts how often I switch on that front LMAO

Since the Legend of Drizzt fandom on tumblr is so small and chill, I don't mind if non-rp blogs follow me or even chat with me in ims or on out of character posts about the series. My only request is that you don't reblog any of my rp threads because it just messes up notifications for me and my writing partner. Other than that… I love you, tiny Drizzt fandom. I am reaching out to cup you gently in my palm lol

I've been trying to get to some actual drafts today too but we'll see. I've at least been rereading them and hehehe... I am writing with such talented people <3 Stay rad.

What is your critique,or aspects that you didn't liked about ST as a series?

DFB hasn't made a VR Titan TV dating sim.

I don't think I have any real critique! There are maybe some bits I would have done differently (though no specific examples come to mind), but that's just the creative differences between people. There are also some bits that made me go 'oh no!' but that's literally what storytelling is supposed to do to you (Assassin Speaker sacrificing Mint Twins, Titan Camera nearly sawing their own head off).

I guess, with hindsight, it's a bit regrettable that the earlier episodes are so cartoonishly batshit compared to the more 'realistic' (within its context) sci-fi feel of the later episodes. I assume DFB was just noodling around and pure shitposting at first, then later became invested enough in the little world he'd created that he decided to take it more seriously. If he could turn back time, he might have chosen to maintain the current tone from the beginning. But this has happened to plenty of series! It's fine. It can even be seen as adding to ST's charm.

I think the thing I would most like to change is that the series has become more plainly militaristic. I would like a little more of the old silliness, like the BABA BOOEY button.

Possibly the series is suffering from power creep - Titan TV has become so powerful now that it's hard to see what can possibly happen next other than the Alliance steamrolling the Skibidis to victory. (As I write this, episode 70 is due soon - the suspense!) In order for the Alliance to face any real challenge, the G-Toilet is going to have to be stupid powerful. It's a bit like when kids get carried away while larping and say things like 'I get out my gun and shoot you,' 'Well, I get out my bulletproof shield and block you," "I get out my gun with bulletproof-shield-piercing bullets', 'I get out my everything-proof shield', 'I get out my everything-proof-shield-piercing laser' etc. It would be a bit disappointing if that's how DFB goes with it (but I'm sure I'd still enjoy watching the increasingly silly fights!)

Baseless speculation: maybe there will be a complete objective switch like in JJBA. In the first two series, the stories are all about the characters learning to use mystic energy called 'hamon'. In series 3, the 'stands' (basically a battle fursona you summon to fight for you) are introduced, and the storyline is all about stand-battling. The hamon completely falls by the wayside! Maybe the Alliance will defeat the Scientist Toilet and G-Toilet and that arc will end, and then they find a new enemy in the Astro Toilets and some other faction (maybe connected to the Secret Agent - the Agent promised Salmon Shirt that he would help the Alliance defeat G-Toilet but he didn't say anything about who would come after!)

As you can see, I'm an artist and a writer. Particularly, I love doing silly doodles, illustrations, comics and fanfiction, and I hope to become an animator or a comic artist one day. However, I'm open to any art or writing career that welcomes me along the way!

My other hobbies include singing, voice acting, listening to whatever music catches my brain worms and yelling about my current interests. I also have two cats, Sashimi and Takoyaki, a corgi named Miso, and a t-rex plush named Dinosara whom I love very much :3

OH THANK YOU! It switches frequently, allow me to elaborate:

Utterson is always in the back of my mind and when he comes to forefront I'm like "its the silly guy! he's so ::3 look at him!"

Hyde also occupies a corner in my brain and then when he comes to the front of my mind I laugh manicically as I plot down chaos and other important plot points- I'm very productive with him. I love drawing his silly cat looking face.

Jekyll is never really that present in my mind. I sort of forget about him but then I remember and I'm like "oh. oh. OH I KNOW WHAT I CAN DO WITH YOU!" and then I do things. I do the best angst for the day and then forget about him again. sometimes its fluff though- sometimes its shitposts. mostly though; its angst.

Lanyon is on and off too. I either forget he's there, or he's all I can think about. and when I think about him I'm like "oh you stupid little idiot." and then do lore things in my head and spin him around like a microwaveable frozen treat. its all or nothing with him.

...I don't- think about Poole much.. but when I do its mostly related to his lore.. Poole is very underrated in my brain and I feel like I gave him too much of a spotlight for what he's actually going to get.. TTwTT

Tho tbh I feel half ashamed when asked this kind of things because I don't think I have a good music repertoire that many many people seem to have (it's mostly either old french songs, tavern ambiant or games' OST) and I don't always have the reflex to look out for/make playlists, even if I try to do it more now!

It's either things calm, eerie and the such, or horrible songs (the duality of a man I suppose lol)

I've been looking mostly for violin covers/solos, I still have yet to find some more I think but!! (like this one, or this). I have to find more piano musics tho, and maybe music boxes too!!

HI ANON!!!! mako has been in my brain so much for the past few months; i just restrain myself from posting seven times a day and instead, i aggressively brainrot in my discord server with a single person in it. (it's me — i'm the single person)

i've been juggling a couple fics for ao3 on him lately (account, mostly atla writing), though tragically i've been at a bit of a writing block. it's probably from overthinking story structures, but trust that i'll get at least a couple of them out eventually haha. the main one is a post-canon fic called rose beds and gasoline veins at 11.9k as of now, followed by a silly 10-chapter 14-year-old-avatar!mako au called snowglobes don't shake on their own which i've spent some time casually outlining (featuring jinora and asami!). there's a post i spontaneously conjured up that would roughly act as half of the first chapter. i'll post the summary if you're curious lol

i've also got a couple random/short oneshots that i spontaneously wrote and completed, before promptly forgetting that i can post them, so… maybe i'll do that soon. one of them is a slightly different take on mako & bolin's family in ba sing se, on some of their cultural differences and traumas through hot pot (which i might expand into a longer oneshot on ao3 after i finish rose beds). the other one was initially a joke about him (who i like to hc as aro lol) accidentally being a really big fan of sex. it's very vague but it turned out kind of angsty in exploring how mako deliberately gives up control in an attempt to frame himself as his mother rather than the man who killed her (coping fr); it's not really up my usual alley, but i might post it somewhere sometime idk. i didn't ever really flesh it out in my head but i have some inklings for a mako & kai oneshot on forgiving yourself as a kid, a mako & lin beifong oneshot on his recruitment featuring better characterization than that spontaneous shitpost i made, and a half-written expansion of jobs in an actually comprehensible story-ish format focused more on pre-canon backstory of him and bolin. also, last night i kind of accidentally started an essay arguing the case of reading mako as "this is a male female character somehow", but that's a whole other brainrot. my friends think i'm insane for wanting to write an essay for fun :P

THAT'S THE ONLY ONE I LIKE!! i love watching vids about journaling and that kind of thing and they make the cutest decorated polaroids so i wanted to do something like that but very cutesy themed,, spring made me think of picnics so gingham <3 i actually played around with a few similar concepts like polaroid + random stickers and i planned to make banners with that but uuuu there are so many characters,, can't keep my focus for too long. i think they came out cute but it's probably too late to use them </3

i always wonder about what do people use to edit their pics because i was born a ps girlie and i still don't know how to use ps properly oops making your themes look nice and cohesive,, those cute pinned etc etc people who edit icons and make them look super aesthetic

i think i never tried to promote my blog because followers don't feel like an integral part of the process for me. i just write what comes to mind and share it with the world: if people like it i'm absolutely delighted and if they don't well,, at the end of the day most of my writing has been fun for me ^^ like come on i've written things that are silly and self indulgent and they worked fine and i'm here like. wow

i'm torn on whether a) people just aren't interested in that kind of content anymore (no way) or b) people DO read our stuff, they simply don't interact. not even a like. the migration of people from other social media into tumblr,, like sorry but i've been here since 2016? and it gets worst for writers every day </3

i have an immense amount of cute enstars thoughts a day and i feel like if i can't share them i will combust (my best friend has to deal with me every day),, it's mostly cute romantic stuff with my favs and my ocs, for obv reasons so i'm like uuuu should i even tell this to someone it's just embarrassing. like only other enstarries could understand why i keep rotating this bunch of dorks around my brain and getting the biggest serotonin boost out of it ueeee

i kind of miss being in a server with other people. i've been feeling very lonely lately due to uni so i think that'd be good for my mental health but at the same time,, i don't want to go back to talking once in a blue moon you know? ooo to be an anxious mess every day of your life.... like i get nervous so easily and i know i'll make someone uncomfortable so i simply keep quiet or i don't know how to join conversations because my social skills are -1. i'm a bit of a mess TT

(2/2) If anything I mostly view fandoms as a "parallel play" space bc i love the combination of passive and active interactions (I just love the presence of like-minded folks around), and basing interactions over just the one special interest tends to make things not last as well (so finding other things you share in common with your fandom buddies is what helps things last longer, and even then sometimes it doesn't! People move on and I've done that myself with other interests in the past, so I never have hard feelings when some of us go separate ways. It's normal and it happens! I guess it's just something I've gotten used to as I got older and am unbothered. If anything, I still miss some old friends, but this is just how life goes, y'know?). In any case I just find it's better to not take things too seriously. I'm just here for self indulgence reasons and seeing everyone gush about their favourite OCs and shared interests and talking points in GW2, and even if some folks never interact with me or we only pass by each other with likes/reblogs without any commentary, that's ok! I love seeing everyone's creativity, whether it's art, writing, screencaps, shitposts, etc. Even if we have specific different special interests in the community, I LOVE that! I love seeing such a variety of folks (I actually come to expect seeing this! like each of us who favourite particular races, I love seeing that! it's so cool!). I just like seeing folks around, and even though I can't catch every post (I just kind of pop in and out of here sporadically) and how I know others miss mine as well, that's ok! I still love seeing everyone's creations, even if I don't always have the energy to read long text posts (my ADHD struggle. I'm really bad at reading huge long text posts, so I need to wait for a day when i have lots of energy for it. I'm sorry i'm bad at this </3) it doesn't mean I don't like your characters, and I still try to catch them again when I can (and I try to leave comments in the tags when i can too!). We all have lives outside after all! This is just a neat space for us to share things and find other posts to apply to our characters bc it's fun. I also don't expect ppl to care about mine, and that's ok too! Anyways, working around the bad brain gremlins is gonna be different for everyone, and I found my own life hack for it. Idk if it'll be helpful for anyone else (especially bc i'm kind of out of it and my brain is frazzled so I'm ramgling rn), but hopefully other folks can find their own life hacks around it too! I'm just here to be gay, silly, and whimsical (and a little feral)!!!

lol random rambly post sort of related to current things bc I was awake for 24hrs and my head still feels a bit overheated even after sleeping: In terms of the online thing, I find I get way to shy so I don't usually like to draw too much attention to myself, so you never will really see me do prompts for questions or anything (I tried to before but learned that I get bad stage fright and I'm bad at answering them lol). I just kinda do things at my own pace and post them before running away (as you can tell, I don't actually post a lot! even tho I got a lot of things behind the scenes, I like treating my OC stuff as a fun personal project that I'm producing for myself and am floored when it gains any traction at all! Especially cuz I don't do OCs the same way as other folks too lskjf. I only got the one! my spoiled child) I basically still operate on my personal mental default of "I'm a neglected only child left home alone using fantisized OC stories and worldbuilding in my head as a form of imagination escapism and emotional fulfillment" and have been doing this for years before i was apart of any kind of fandom, so I never have expectations from other ppl when it comes to me doing stuff (I'm so used to not getting any attention about things I do, so any crumb of it that happens is a godsend and fully appreciated!). In any case I was working on mine for a few years before I even KNEW there was such thing as an online community, and to me it's been a blast and more enrichment than I ever would've expected!! (I struggle SO HARD to make friends or acquaintances. I'm a pathetic lonely person with no life, so I just like seeing familiar faces around talking about things or just liking and reblogging). Also on a kind of backwards frame of mind I have: I'm a bit of a defeatist. I never think ppl will see or pay any mind to my stuff, and that's fine with me! In fact I always imagine the opposite reaction, which makes me mentally retaliate into being even MORE STUBBORN about making my cringe OC stuff, DESPITE these imaginary scenarios!! (like, screw you! I'm not making this for you! I'm making it for me!).
