The safe house was quiet, the evening stretching lazily as Elias leaned back on the couch, cigarette in hand, exuding his usual air of nonchalant confidence. Barista sat cross-legged next to him, scrolling through a streaming service on the TV.

Elias raised an eyebrow as they stopped on The Good Dinosaur. "What’s that?"

Barista smirked. "It’s a Pixar movie. Real tearjerker."

Elias scoffed, tapping ash into the tray on the coffee table. "Please. I don’t cry over movies. Especially not some kids' film about dinosaurs."

Barista turned to him, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Oh really? Wanna bet on it?"

Elias leaned forward, intrigued. "What kind of bet?"

Barista grinned. "If you cry, you owe me... let’s see... 50 bucks and the last pack of instant ramen."

Elias smirked, clearly thinking this was easy money. "And if I don’t cry?"

"Then you get to pick the next movie and I’ll make you ramen for a week," Barista countered, holding out their hand.

Elias shook on it without hesitation. "Deal. Bring it on, Pixar."

Half an hour into the movie, Elias was sprawled out on the couch, his arms crossed as he watched the screen. Barista occasionally stole glances at him, noticing how his jaw tightened during the emotional scenes.

By the time the climax hit—when Arlo reunited with his family—Elias’ tough exterior began to crack. His lips twitched, and he blinked rapidly, shifting uncomfortably in his seat.

Barista pretended not to notice, but the corners of their mouth curled up. They waited patiently, knowing the inevitable was coming.

Finally, a single tear rolled down Elias’ cheek.

He cursed under his breath, quickly rubbing his face as though he could erase the evidence.

Barista turned to him, feigning innocence. "Hey, Elias... are you crying?"

"No," Elias snapped, voice cracking slightly. "Something got in my eye."

Barista leaned closer, barely holding back laughter. "Oh, really? Something like... overwhelming emotion?"

Elias groaned, throwing his head back against the couch. "Fine! I cried, okay? You happy now?"

Barista burst out laughing, holding out their hand. "Pay up, buddy. Ramen's mine."

Elias grumbled, pulling out a crumpled $50 bill from his pocket and slapping it into their hand. "You’re evil."

Barista winked, waving the bill in front of his face. "Nope, I’m just smarter than you. Also, Arlo deserved that happy ending, so don’t even act like you didn’t feel it."

Elias sighed, slumping into the couch with a dramatic groan. "This is the last time I make a bet with you."

Barista snorted. "You say that every time."

And as the credits rolled, Elias muttered, "Stupid dinosaur," while Barista happily planned what to do with their winnings.

Every Main Night Fury Couple In My New Series

To celebrate a new series where the Night Furies never went extinct, I went ahead and put together all the couples.

Cinder x Holly (Both Females)

You can guess where I got the names from.

● Holly is the more defensive one, since her body was built for taking hits. Cinder is more on the offensive side, since she's faster and can hit harder when she's zooming around.

● Both share a den higher up from the bustling ground floor of their shared domain, close to the leader and his mate, as well as their cubs.

● Holly is the one who suggested that they took in Elias, since she sympathized with the fact that they both lost their parents at a young age, though he lost his when he was a year old and she lost hers when she was nine months old.

● These two are the couple with one child and a pet, that being Cinder's frog, Kermit.

Rowan x Arlo (Both Male)

● Rowan's obsession with hunting has lead him to having a very built physique, and it's given him the chance to improve his eyesight.

● Arlo, though, is rather docile and he gave up on hunting when he realized that he didn't have what it took to kill.

● As such, Arlo is quite chonky, but he wears it well.

● To him, it's proof of just how much Rowan loves him.

And last, but certainly not least, we have the leader and his mate.

Luther x Morrigan (Male and Female)

● Oh my God do these two scream Gomez and Morticia vibes, but to a little lesser degree.

● Sure, they're all for PDA, but not all the time. Especially when there are other matters to attend to.

● These two are beloved by their subjects, just like their kids are.

● Yeah, they have four. Three of them are biologically theirs while the eldest is adopted.

● They love their children, no matter what they look like or how they act.

● They also learned very quickly to never eat a dead rat in front of their eldest.

I made a name list!

Okay, so, apparently it’s a bit of a trend now to share name lists in this community. I have a name list of my own that’s been getting longer and longer. I’m deciding to share it, because I love going over other people’s lists myself and I have found many cool names that way!

My list is very long, like, very long, so you can find it under the cut. I also put it on a page on my blog here ( you can find a link on my homepage as well) and in a pdf file here. "Fine. Fine," Elias groaned. Bonding. That's what he got for trying to step out of his comfort zone and make friends. "I'll take you up on that drink," he agreed, throwing a punch at the bag. "No, no. It's fine, I promise." Elias held up his gloved hands and smiled. "I'm just being an asshole. This is great. Thanks for wanting to bond with me. Let's continue."

"Because we're bonding!" Arlo beamed at Elias, holding the bag for him. "How about a drink after our boxing session? It'll be well-earned." He observed Elias lining up his shot, a slight frown tugging at the corners of his mouth. "If you're not enjoying it, we don't have to wait that long. We can call it quits whenever you want."

"Remind me why I agreed to this again." Elias wasn't sold on the activity. It wasn't that he was against physical activity -- he wasn't even against boxing -- he simply didn't see the point. "We could just pretend that we did this and get a drink instead," he suggested even as he readjusted the gloves. "Okay, okay." Elias lined up his fist with the bag, quickly pulling back his arm to throw the punch. "Thirty minutes of this and then I'm calling it."

"Give it your all." Arlo raised his boxing gloves, holding them in front of his face before executing a punch on the heavy bag. While not an expert, he had been attending boxing classes for almost six months, confident enough to share some of his acquired moves with Elias. "Now it's your turn. I'll hold the bag for you." Positioned on the opposite side of the bag, Arlo steadied it as best he could, ready for Elias to take his shot.
