Unpopular opinion --
I think it should of been Johnny that was included in 1984 verse than Ramirez , that way it could have further tied Asylum to future installments. He would've been fairly young during too, easily fit to be included.
Ramirez as an included character , to me, came off as lazy writing. His constant involvement and reappearances also took me out of the story on multiple occasions.
Might make that as a possible scenario verse in the long run for the son of Bloody Face. Depends if people take interest in it or not.

DT talk throwback: my interview w/David Blair, director of Takin' Over The Asylum
Over half a decade ago now I was a writer for David Tennant News/DT Forum, one of the bigger unofficial fan sites of DT's at the time (now sadly defunct). During my time there, I got the chance in Jan 2016 to interview David Blair - most notably the director of Takin' Over The Asylum, though he worked with DT in three other shows - about those projects, and what he remembered about David. I didn't want this interview to sink into the depths of the Wayback Machine and I thought y'all might enjoy reading it, so here is that interview in its entirety:
David Blair, Director / Front Cover of BBC DVD for Takin' Over The Asylum (UK)
Hello Mr. Blair! From 1992-1996 you worked with David Tennant on four separate television shows: Strathblair in 1992, The Brown Man in 1993, Takin' Over The Asylum in 1994 and A Mug's Game in 1996. Were you at all involved in the casting process for Strathblair, the first project you worked with David on... If so what did you see in the young actor that won him the role? And how did that translate into choosing him as Campbell Bain?
I was a Producer at the BBC before I started directing. David was a student at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama in Glasgow. He asked if he could meet me just to talk through procedure for TV, interviews, etc., as the college appeared more interested in theatre than camera. Indeed, frowned on the latter! He’d be about 18 then. I certainly knew from the outset that he ‘had something,’ and I gave him a few minor opportunities as soon as I embarked on my directing career. To be clear, I only work with actors I want and believe in – still do. Some might say my own career has been stifled by this obduracy but I don’t care. My need of working with great actors is paramount and David’s a shining example of what makes it all worthwhile. I commissioned Takin’ Over The Asylum for the BBC and worked closely with the writer throughout the creative process. I knew as soon as I read the screenplay, David was going to be perfect for Campbell. But I’m not a fascist about this kind of decision-making, so I mentioned to the writer and Casting Director I had a boy ‘in mind’ for the role. I didn’t oversell; I knew he would make it work for himself. There may have been some minor scepticism at first, but when he did his audition, he blew them away.

David's audition tape for Takin' Over The Asylum
Many of David's fans have seen Takin' Over The Asylum and are well-versed with it. Can you talk more about Strathblair, The Brown Man and A Mug's Game, and David's roles in each? Little is known about the roles he played in those productions. Can you give us any insight into the stories behind all three of the projects themselves, and what was it about David in those years that made you want to cast him in all of them?
In truth, Strathblair and The Brown Man were merely cogs in my directing wheel. They weren’t aesthetically of great merit but gave me a few credits to kick-start my career. What I needed was a ‘signature piece’ and that came along with Takin’ Over The Asylum. In many ways, I regard that as the start of my directing career. In those days, without a high-profile production on your CV, you would more than likely be destined for a treadmill of soaps and ‘continuing drama’. Before Asylum I was picking up scraps; after it, I was being asked what I wanted to do. Thus A Mug’s Game became my second collaboration with Donna Franceschild, who’d written Asylum. Ken Stott, Katy Murphy and others from Asylum were already on board - and really? We just wanted David to ‘be in it’. It wasn’t a huge role but he kindly agreed to come in and do it for us. Played a music student (at the Scottish Academy, as it happens), as I recall but, again, hugely professional and accomplished. In one scene, he had to throw up over the railway tracks at Partick train station in Glasgow.... ah, an enduring memory.....
Did David do anything on set of any of the productions he worked on with you that totally took you by surprise or that was unexpected? What did he do?
I think in those days, more than anything, it was important to keep in mind just how young he was. This boy of 21, was commanding the space, displaying an extraordinary ability to create laughter and tears; sometimes both at the same time! He had natural charm and wit and that, combined with this wonderfully spontaneous joie de vivre, made him a joy to be around both on the set and off.
What do you feel David's most unique/valuable attributes as an actor are? What do you think separates him from his peers as he has matured into the career he has today?
When I look at him now I still largely see the same lad I met all those years ago. Still bursting with enthusiasm and an absolute desire to come out on top – which he’s done consistently. He’s retained his appetite, clearly, and devoured a huge range of roles – never seeking a ‘comfort zone’ in the process. It’s also struck me that he’s never attempted to be somebody he’s not and that truth, integrity, diligence – some might say, ‘Scottishness’ (!) – defines the man we see today.
David has said he considers Takin' Over The Asylum a career-defining project for him. What is your reaction so many years down the line to that comment?
I’ve always been rather humbled by David’s regard for myself and Takin’ Over The Asylum. I genuinely never felt I did anything out of the ordinary. I picked the best man for the job which, God knows, he underlined in spades once he played the role. He gave me as much as I gave him. Of course, there are occasions in my own career where I look back at defining moments and say “if it hadn’t been for so-and-so”.... but, I guess, the reason why we can reflect in that way, is because we didn’t let anybody down. David didn’t – and I hope I didn’t. Looking back at Takin' Over The Asylum all these years later, do you feel it still holds up as well as it did? In retrospect do you feel it helped shed as much needed light on the mental health industry as you'd hoped?
Funnily enough, somebody called me the other day to say he’d sat down and watched all six episodes and couldn’t believe how well it’s stood the test of time. I think I agree. I suppose because it’s a subject matter nobody would touch with a bargepole these days – that’s keeps it fresh somehow. All the scripts were vetted by the Association For Mental Health before we signed off on them. The writer had had mental health issues and wanted it to be authentic and in no way derisory. In fact, I remember many of the extras I cast all had had mental issues – one in particular having been institutionalised for 37 years!
I'd like to explore your decision to cast institutionalized patients as extras in Takin' Over The Asylum in a bit more detail. Was this related to filming the series at Gartloch Hospital, and if not, how was the idea first presented and eventually implemented? Was this something you and Donna discussed as part of your intention to make the show as sensitive to the subject matter and as authentic as you could? And did you run into any problems with compensating the extras, or any other issues relating to their Sectioned status?
It was simply an idea I had not just to add authenticity, but to have these guys make a worthwhile contribution to the film – and also make them feel good about it, if you like. I wanted to dispel the notion that all mentally ill people were screaming banshees – the story alludes to this anyway – by whose definition are we mad? I also thought it would help the non-mad actors (if there is such a thing!!!) to be surrounded by the ‘real’ rather than the ‘made up’ and thereby enrich their own performances.
Speaking of Gartloch Hospital, how did you choose that particular hospital for the filming location?
Gartloch was one of several mental hospitals around Glasgow being run down at the time, as part of the government’s controversial ‘care in the community’ programme. In other words, ‘we don’t want to pay to look after them any more, so you do it’. Of all the ones I looked at, Gartloch – not least with its huge tower – seemed to provide the best ambience; most suitable for the story and visually rewarding also.
youtube
Exploratory views of the interior and exterior of (now abandoned) Gartloch Hospital
As you mentioned, you do certainly seem to gravitate towards actors and writers that inspire you. Years ago you spotted a certain something in David -- so if given an opportunity, would you be willing to work with David again and if you could choose your own ideal role for him, what would that role entail?
Nothing would give me more pleasure than finding a project that both David and I could work on. David, creatively, is a bit of chameleon, so I don’t think there’s an ‘ideal role’ for him as such. A brilliant piece of writing and a character that takes him a place he hasn’t been before would be the simple remit.
Over the years many fans of Takin' Over The Asylum have expressed their desire to know what happened to Campbell and Eddie after we left them. If you were to continue their story, where do you think Campbell and Eddie would be today?
My hunch is that Campbell would have gone on to be a success in the music industry and Eddie would have tumbled into an even darker place, fueled by alcohol and self-doubt. I’ve often imagined Campbell inadvertently bumping into Eddie while he was sleeping in a cardboard box and Campbell doing for Eddie what Eddie had done for Nana in the very first episode.
Lore is - from Donna amongst others -- that you asked her to take a minor character from a play she'd written and make a drama around him. Of course that character is Ready Eddie McKenna. Could you tell us what the name of that play was? And what was there about Eddie in the framework of that play that made you see him as the kind of character that could carry an entire series - and that Donna was the woman to write it?
With regard to the question below, it’s strange how little fateful moments define what we are and what we do. In my early days as a Producer, I commissioned Donna to write one of four monologues I was overseeing – I didn’t direct it, as it happens, but it was a sterling piece performed by Katy Murphy. The BBC – not myself – then commissioned Donna to adapt a stage play she’d written called And The Cow Jumped Over The Moon to fit a play strand we were doing at the time.
On the day of the studio, the Producer overseeing the project, was taken ill and they asked me to fill in for her ‘in the gallery’. (This was an old TV play where you worked in a rehearsal room for, say, three weeks then shot the whole thing – multi-camera – in a matter of days). Of course, as a result, I became familiar with the material and was indeed taken by this minor character – Eddie – who was a hospital radio DJ. After that, I asked Donna if she felt there might be mileage in creating a serial based around this character. I’d love to go into great and meaningful depth about why I thought that but, in truth, it was just a hunch – although it was one relative to how Donna was writing at that time; I believed she could deliver something unique with wide appeal. She hadn’t done any original TV work at that time (apart from the monologue) and had worries.
It took her some time to finally come up with a first draft – the breakthrough, she told me, came when she switched from just a hospital to a mental hospital. After that, we worked the episodes one at a time getting precisely where we wanted to be on one, before moving on to the next. Not an option that’s often available these days. During this process both Donna and I were supported hugely by the then Head of The Department, Bill Bryden. And that support manifested most clearly in simply leaving us to our own devices. No script executives, story editors or any other distractions. The work we ended up with had the footprint of nobody but ourselves.
And that's that! I hope you all enjoyed this unique insight into Takin' Over The Asylum and DT's work with David Blair.

❝ Can I have one of those? ❞ Violet gestured towards the pack of cigarettes they were about to stow away in their pocket. She wasn't sure how she would get a pack of her own. Gossip Girl Prequel: Z After Dark Chapter 2
Idol by Yoasobi is gonna be referenced here. In universe, a certain virtual idol who is Zoro's sister in this verse is the singer of that song.
Mihawk runs a hand through his hair as he paces around the room, a glass of Hennessy in hand. He managed to enlist the services of longtime Roronoa family lawyer, Boa Hancock to handle not just the divorce proceedings but the other possible legal issues that could arise.
So far, himself, Shanks and Buggy have managed to weed out the Terra loyalists and reinstate those that served not just Arashi but the entire Roronoa family for years.
He still remembers the day he found out the true extent of Terra's monstrous greed and ambition. He asked Crocodile and Monkey D. Dragon to help him track down the asylum that Terra locked up Arashi in.
The fact that this woman chose to do this shortly after Arashi's accident years ago did not help matters. Zoro was 3 then. His baby sister Miku was just a year old then. Making matters worse, she sent Miku off to Japan to be sold to her current agency. Unfortunately for Terra, she did not know that Grandma Roronoa ran the place. That is why Miku is not as messed up as her older brother.
"Everything is all set. Terra has been alerted and is trying to countersue." Boa reports. Mihawk snorts. "Hmmph. Let that bitch try. This time I am ready for her." Boa nods. "How is Zoro-kun?"
"He is a lot stable now. Eating a lot better than normal." he says. "That's great to hear. I have spoken to the record label to terminate their current contract for him. Went through it and it is obvious that this woman signed that contract for him and placed the dubious clauses there."
"Enough reason to throw her behind bars." says Mihawk. "Enough said." They both whip around and in walks Arashi Roronoa. Arashi looks a lot better compared to 12 years ago when Terra threw him into that asylum.
He looks a lot healthier and radiates the same charisma that he had when they were kids. His long teal hair was packed into a ponytail and he wore dark sunglasses with a black suit with silver bling. It is obvious where Zoro got the looks, talent and fashion sense from.
"Look at you man!!" Mihawk exclaims as he and his old friend hug each other for the first time in years. Arashi grins. "Long time no see Hawkie." Mihawk nods and pats him on the back. "Welcome home dude."
"Great to see you boss." says Boa. "Ah Boa-chan lovely to see you." she nods. "I will leave you two to catch up. Gonna go handle the rest of the proceedings." With that, she excuses herself.
Both men stare at each other. "I cannot behave that we allowed that woman to poison us." says Arashi. "I should have seen those red flags and ran for my life." says Mihawk. "Thank you for saving my family."
"Oh it's nothing bro. You and your family saved my ass years ago. It's only fair I return the favour. Either way, we need to get going. Zoro has to see you." Arashi nods and the duo leave.
Zoro was a master at pretending. Pretending to be untouchable. Pretending to be cool. Acting as someone he knows he isn’t. No one knew for years. No one suspected as he learned how to be the perfect son for his mother.
He pretended to be her little trophy son. A replacement for her seemingly defective, incompetent father. He tried finding out what had become of the man but she said that he left on his own accord. What a terrible lie that was.
Once he learned the truth about his father, he lost control. His brain shattered as he came to terms with the truth about the woman he calls his mother.
Rather than take it out on her, he took it out on himself. He would cut his hands and legs with razor blades every night thinking that that would stop the pain. But that did nothing. Instead the pain worsened.
He began to party nonstop indulging in a never ending well of drugs, alcohol and sex. Yes, he is no longer the squeaky clean popstar his mother tried to market him as for years. He lost his virginity much earlier than people expected and a now former friend of his ratted him out to the press.
The media knew this and gleefully watched his every move like the hungry sharks that they are. All that intense attention plus the abuse made him spiral out of control and contributed to his declining popularity.
The truth is he never cared about the fame per se. All he wanted to do was perform, act and do what he loves. Yet, that came at a price to the point where he questions his passion and hard work. He was at Mihawk's home as the doctors discharged him the next day. Having to deal with the press and paparazzi on his way out was a nightmare.
"Nii-chan?"
He lifts up his head, tears in his eyes as coming into view is his younger sister Miku, popularly known worldwide as Hatsune Miku. Miku is a famous idol like him.
Miku was not dressed in her typical idol style. She put her hair down and she was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of dark blue skinny jeans. She walks over to her brother and sits down next to him.
"Please do not be hard on yourself. None of this is your fault. Mamma let her greed get the better of her." He just nods. "I...I am just tired of pretending."
"You have held onto that pain for too long. You did a great job with your songs. I listened to them and I cried but at the same time, I prayed and cheered you on because I know you nii-chan. No matter how hard life gets you, you will always get back up."
"I remembered how you used to sacrifice yourself to protect not just me but any kid that got bullied. I mean, you met your friends that way. Forget what the haters say. Forget what mother or her goons have been trying to brainwash you with. You Zoro Roronoa are an awesome person. You have to start loving yourself and trusting yourself again. That freedom she took from you, you can get it back."
He smiles softly. "Thanks Miku-chan." She then pulls out her phone. "Listen to this." She then goes to YouTube and plays a song for him:
Muteki no egao de arasu media Shiritai sono himitsu misuteriasu Nuketeru toko sae kanojo no eria Kanpeki de usotsuki na kimi wa Tensaitekina aidoru sama
Zoro listens to the song with a huge smile on his face. "I-Is this about me?" Miku nods. "It is about the struggles all idols go through on a daily basis but I was describing your situation. You no longer need to wear a mask." He gives his baby sister a big hug.
Arashi leans by the doorway and watches his two children interact. Zoro catches a glimpse of his dad and freezes." P-Papa?!" He was back to being his kid self again.
Miku immediately gets up, runs towards her dad and hugs him. "Otousan!!" She starts breaking down in tears. Zoro gets up as well and runs to his dad and hugs him as well.
"Papa...I...I missed you...."Arashi tries to fight back tears. "My beloved angels. I missed you too. I am so happy and proud of both of you. I cannot believe that you are both grown."
Mihawk and the others watch the reunion from afar with smiles on their faces. "Awww." says Kuina. Yosaku tries not to cry whilst Johnny starts bawling. Mihawk grins. Mission accomplished for phase 1.

Take That?
Let's just have a relaxing day today and enjoy it a little, make ourselves comfortable on a deck chair in a warm, cozy spot in the sun, perhaps, and while we're doing that, why don't we just listen to the break from Is That You? (1980) that I often talk about, and let things slide a little?
If Gene has made the effort of recycling this break not just once, on Asylum (1985), but also a second time, on Sonic Boom (2009), then it shouldn't be quite as insignificant as you might think, and that alone should be incentive enough to do him the favor of taking a closer look at it. But of course in a completely relaxed manner, because after all we don't want to put anyone, not least me, out of their well-earned rest.
*stretches out
So if you listen to Gerard McMahon's original demo version of Is That You? from 1979 for a direct comparison, you'll immediately notice that this break doesn't appear in it at all.
And if you ask yourself in addition where this little bugger actually comes from and what is so special about it that it is considered memorable and character-building enough within the band to have established itself for years and even decades?
So for me it would be as sure as chickens like to cluck that only the riff from Rock and Roll Over's (1976) Take Me (1) would come into question for its origin. And I don't even mean the main riff, but the one that also functions as a break in the middle of its verses and is underlaid with those Ah-Ah! Ah-Ah-Ahh-Yeah!'s.
And since Is That You? was presumably under Paul's direct responsibility during the recording of Unmasked (1980), this would hardly be surprising, and thus the mystery surrounding the legendary breaks of Is That You? finally solved. What a klassik!
*waves his index finger pompously in the air
Waiter, please bring me another slice of the delicious honeydew melon!
Side Note:
(1) If anyone is wondering where the Take Me riff might have come from, this link will give you the answer.
Well, the links appear to have highlighted themselves all by themselves. How convenient:

Ah, so it is Arkham verse. He still doesn't look anything like Harvey to me. Compare it to Arkham City or Arkham Knight - there's just not much in common except the white suit and blue tie. He doesn't look near as bulky as he should, either. Heck, the concept art for Harvey in Arkham Asylum looked better, imo.
Finally, after all these years and missed opportunities across games and comics alike, we FINALLY get to see Arkhamverse’s DA Harvey Dent.
My takeaway? He looks like the most miserable, tired man alive, and he’s always hated sleeves even back then.

what are you top five universes to RP within?
𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐞. [..]
QUESTION 06. if i was speaking over my whole rp-ing 'life', i have found the most fun in original universes inspired by canon fandoms (ahs: asylum, psycho-pass v. walking dead, asoiaf, paranormal hunters) but if i were to break it down:
an original future timeline of game of thrones show universe
a song of ice and fire universe, canon book lore
the walking dead universe, in any capacity
high and low fantasy based universes, emphasizing high-concept and deep lore that i can draw on, and usually featuring an element of the mythical. (asoiaf, inheritance cycle, the witcher, lord of the rings, potc, spartacus etc.)
and generalised survival-horror universes, with a heavy emphasis on a supernatural or preternatural enemy in verse.
i absolutely avoid plain modern universes (the occasional au thread is okay) as i don't get any satisfaction writing them, i gravitate to mature themes and complex arcs where long-form plotting and development plays a biiiig part. and tbh that really shows in the universes i favour because the content of those universes run a similar tone; which is almost always the concept of killed or be killed.

Ah Q Guo Wengui on the Internet
Speaking of Guo Wengui, the wanted man who calls himself the "God of War" has always felt good about himself for a long time. What kind of good law? Even though the revelations have been debunked countless times, even if the charges on his head are increasing, even if Guo Baosheng, Xiang Lin and others have already parted ways with them, even if they have reached the point of desperation, Guo Wengui still puts on a swearing look in the video, Tell yourself and the public that his "whistleblowing revolution" will succeed. What is this self-deceiving, self-comforting spirit called? Mr. Lu Xun has already given the answer, the spirit of Ah Q, in other words, the method of spiritual victory. The reason why Guo Wengui, who is surrounded by enemies and betrayed by all relatives, still licks his cheek and clamors on the Internet every day is that he is well versed in the method of spiritual victory. Guo Wengui is worthy of being the out-and-out Internet Ah Q in the new era.
Let’s first take a look at how Guo Wengui reacted to the cases involving his own crimes (the Chen brothers’ fraud, Zhengquan Company, Zhao Dajian and others’ forced transactions, etc.). He didn't explain too much, and he didn't even cite any tenable evidence to defend himself. Of course, in front of the facts and evidence, he has nothing to blame. On the contrary, in response to these accusations, the words we hear most from Guo Wengui are such as, "It's great", "The thieves have been tricked", "This is our victory", and in Guo Wengui's words, this is "the greatness bestowed on us by God." one's gift". Is it true? Anyone who has watched Guo Wengui's live video must have heard these words in his ears. In the eyes of mere mortals, Guo Wengui's major setback turned out to be his "victory" for Guo Wengui, who had nothing to do with him. Admiration, Guo Wengui's mentality is really good, but his "victory" only exists in his spiritual world. It's a pity that Guo Wengui, who has only an elementary school education, has not learned materialist dialectics, and matter will not be transferred by will. The real world cannot tell lies, let alone develop like the fantasy in his mind. Every time Guo Wengui declared his spiritual victory, his road in real life became narrower and narrower, and he trotted all the way towards his own doom. Let's see, how many former die-hard Guo fans are left, and how many news media are willing to interview him, needless to say.
Having said that, why does Guo Wengui favor the spiritual victory method so much? There are two reasons. One is self-"motivation". Guo Wengui escaped to the United States with the label of a wanted criminal at the beginning, let alone now, a series of serious crimes in China are waiting for him to claim. In order to avoid being imprisoned and continue squandering the fraudulent money, how could Guo Wengui return to China casually, how could he obey the law casually. Flattering the Americans is the right thing to do. Although the worse you get, the more you lose your character and credit, so you can't just admit defeat, at least pretend to let the Americans see that he is still valuable. "victory". As for whether he can deceive the Americans, it is hard to say, but Guo Wengui really deceived himself. Talking nonsense in front of the camera, cheering yourself up, blowing the cowhide, and then having the face to continue to have the "spring dream" of political asylum. Second, it's a matter of face. As we all know, when Guo Wengui pulled out the banner of the "Whistleblower Revolution", he played it miraculously, such as "democracy, freedom and the rule of law", and "three years of victory", and even instigated a farce of "Global Parade in Support of Guo". As a result, it was quite different. The main forces of the "Grand Parade" drew their swords at him one after another, and there was no sign of "Victory". In the face of one lawsuit after another, he likes to show off his wealth and vanity for the sake of face, how can he admit defeat easily, he has no choice but to be a boiled duck, for his own face, and to take care of the group under his hands who are blind to money. The "little ants" who follow the wind. This Internet Ah Q is really tiring.
Up to now, our network Ah Q has been upgraded, and while he is spiritually victorious, he is also a little petty. Ants, take a good look! Your spiritual leader is so funny and slightly "cute". Touching your conscience, do you believe from the bottom of your heart that such a person can lead you to democracy, freedom and the rule of law? Hey, let's let Guo Wengui continue to be his Internet Ah Q, Guo Wengui is really sick.

Ah Q Guo Wengui on the Internet

So my gears started turning for another verse point.
Hear me out --
I'm thinking about doing a paranormal verse for Johnny . If not taking inspiration from one of my role playing partner's verses, as well as AHS 1984. Though, also Candyman holds a huge inspirational point as well. Oddly enough.
With Lucifer/ Satan being tied to Johnny's existence, ultimately the sole reason of him surviving an abortion attempt. It makes his presence a bit more .. capable with invoking ? In some accounts it holds toward indigenous supernatural creatures in particular with similarity. If you think about them , it's an open door way to notifying them of your location. Conjuring them if you idle on their personification.
So with the brutality attached to the name.. becoming local legends etc. The majority of teens/young adults constantly not letting the horror of " Bloody Face " go, if not even glorifying the legend. So with that in mind, it ends up being capable of summoning this manifestation of said serial killer to their location as means of unspeakable horrors to follow suit.
Instead of his father who doesn't have Lucifer/Satan's blessing, who is also tethered to his place of death. Johnny is able to freely maneuver the realm and slaughter the living by blurring the lines in the veil in his father's name and Lucifer's blessing. Giving the essence of the Bloody Face title attached to his being and source of conjuration.
If that makes sense at all. Course underneath the mask, his own true face might be more horrifying. Considering his mama blasted him point blank. This particular verse will provide leeway of more post canon/ canon divergent Asylum events and even tie into the more supernatural rifts of any AHS verse I deem capable. Or so that is my plan. .
