Brittney (top left) and April (top right) have been best friends since the womb and have wanted to live together ever since they were little. They started renting out their apartment right out of high school. April's little sister Quinn (bottom left) needed somewhere to live to finish out high school and prepare for university life. This motherfucker hates the beach with a vehemence. He also hates sunscreen, but will still apply it to remain sexily pale.

It’s canon that Sol dislikes the ocean, so the only reason he’d be even remotely close to the beach is because of you.

He probably doesn’t even like sand. He’d rather simply just walk around the beach area. 

If you’re more of a beach lover, he’ll be reluctant to join you in the sand, and beg you to not make him go into the water.

Will wear all black and tie his hair up into a messy bun.

If you’re more of a rock investigator (irl me needs a medal for that tbh), he’s gonna avoid rock pools, mostly due to the fact he resents crabs.

Anything that can crawl on him gives him an ick (except if it’s you).

Probably will just find a cafe and order coffees for both of you, especially if you’re gonna swim. You’ll need something to help warm you up, after all.

Most likely just going to serve as a photographer, totally will not use said photos to jack off to you later so he can paint you later <3.

Will be tempted to murder the seagulls. Probably will wring at least one if it tries harassing him tbh- (you won’t find out dw).

Will supervise the bags and all of your belongings.

Also will drive you there and back. Will also prep the car with tons of towels so A. the car won’t get wet (only you’re allowed to be teehee) and B. so you’re not gonna freeze to death.

Hyugo would probably wear shark fins on his sides just to fuck with people.

He’s got extremely white teeth and (I headcanon) a very creepy grin for when he’s murdering intimidating people. So he’d 110% just very slowly emerge from the depths of the water (Pennywise-style) and scare off all the little kids in the vicinity.

His hair is everywhere around his face, and when he’s underwater it looks like a blue halo. One that you yank on when he’s unaware (and above water for fucks’ sake) to try and get him to yelp. (he may or may not accidentally moan but that’s a whole other story). Don’t worry he bites your ankle underwater in revenge.

He probably doesn’t care at all about what swimmers he wears, hell even Baby Shark merch will work for him. He will proudly display it as well. (balls of steel much??)

This guy hooves ice cream like it’s his last day alive. Maybe even iced coffee. He must consume sugar or he will implode.

Is gonna splash you. You both are gonna have water fights the entire time you’re there, until both of you are sopping wet and dripping with ocean water (and fish piss).

Mans will probably ask you to get piggybacked in the water, which tbf you attempt to, then he drags you both underwater.

Will forget to take photos. You’re gonna have to be responsible for that I’m afraid.

Will drive y’all there and back, blaring J-Pop on the radio and grinning maniacally. Be concerned.

This girl is going to be strutting into any beach, or any public place, looking the most glamorous of all.

Will wear a two-piece pink skort and bikini set 110%, will wear a translucent blouse over the top.

This girl will judge everyone else’s bikinis and swimmers more than actually doing something.

Although she isn’t opposed to going in the water, unless it’s cold – I headcanon Brittney hates the cold – you better not get her hair sopping wet, she will murder you and dump your body in a rock pool. <3

Will buy ice cream, she doesn’t seem the type to like salty foods tbh.

Will stalk up to you and ask what you want then vanishes.

She’s got herself a tanning bed btw.

Will read fashion magazines, maybe even do her beach aesthetic makeup. After all, she’s gotta be the hottest chick there. not that she isn’t already

Will eventually stick to building things out of sand, then getting annoyed and breaking them.

Is also going to shower before you, making sure she’s extremely clean before going to the car.

Jess is the type to build sandcastles. I will fucking smite anyone who says otherwise.

If you both went to the beach, she’d be unwilling to enter the water, mostly due to the fact she def can't swim for shit, and also doesn't want her glasses to get wet (she hates goggles). Wears swimmers underneath a fucking oversized translucent blouse or something.

Would be the type to just plan ahead what exactly she’ll require to make the greatest sandcastle ever, and if that plan fails, she will be extremely sad for the next 2 hours.

Will be one of those people to bury their best friend/partner under the sand. Will put a lot of effort into making your mermaid tail look majestic.

You both will be eating ice cream under an umbrella, taking turns to take selfies (mostly you, she’d be very shy about having her face, she worries whether she’ll look dumb or not)

You both are gonna just watch over the belongings, and take turns showering at the beach so that (Jess’s) car is clean by the time you both get ready to leave.

You’d have had to win about 2000 bets with Geo to get him anywhere near a beach.

Would wear extremely dark gear, you’d not see any part of his body except his very wonderful head.

Will evade sand like it's the Black Plague.

Oh, just a warning, Geo is part fish.

He swims way too far for any sane human being. Hell, he doesn’t even swim, he just glides through the water. Deadpan. On his back. His hair is in a swimming cap btw, he’s not fucking risking damaging it. Also an avid sunscreen user, this man does not want to fucking tan, ew.

Will not eat anything there. He’s got standards. You’ll have to wine and dine him to get him to even sit down amongst all the other citizens of the city. Will reluctantly get you coffee though. He’ll probably only drink coffee if he craves it.

Will contemplate becoming a serial birdkiller; he hates birds. Their squawking makes him want to tear his eardrums out.

Will be extremely happy to walk along rocks, even boardwalking is better than actually being on the beach.

Will take aesthetic photos of the beach, especially if it's during the sunset. May or may not sneakily take some of you to store in his private stash.

Will also drive you both. He is never going to not drive, unless something drastic happens, like his arms getting cut off.

Crowe will have his hair down and is going to wear a stupidly wide-brimmed sun hat.

Is very careful about applying sunscreen, will check the UV rating multiple times.

Is going to watch over your shit and take really beautiful beach photos, will probably read a book silently under an umbrella. You mistook him for a woman one too many times.

Would make sure you don’t go too deep in the water, makes sure you swim between the flags as well.

My thoughts on the Travel Season premiere:

I have just finished my Travel Season watch of the two new episodes and wow. I am in awe with this show and the aesthetic they have chosen with it.

For a Worth It fan, it truly does not feel like a copy and paste, but as though it is Worth It's mature, older sibling. The vibes are very calm and peaceful. The show itself focuses very much on the importance of connections and experiences in new environments with the people you share them with. Which leads to these organic funny moments as though they are not trying.

The concept of The Brick (aka the camera) as a staple to the whole show's aesthetic is so smart and cute? Not only does it provide creative graphics/transitions to add in the post production, but it gives the team physical copies of their memories on this trip. Even if this trip is ultimately a work trip. The Brick is just a nice little touch to the show, and reasons like this is why I just love Watcher because they think about every small detail when it comes to the shows they produce.

Jared Sosa also deserves a huge round of applause because not only did he produce the amazing new Watcher intro animation BUT he performed and wrote the Travel Season theme song? AND it's amazing?! Like put this shit on Spotify and I would listen to that song on repeat! It's so good and just truly fits the overall vibes. Just well done Jared.

Also, the boys are back? Like how can you be mad about that?? Could not be me.

Honestly, it's kind of funny to think about— but yes, Luna definitely has a distinct style! I’m not entirely sure what this type of fashion is called, but I’d say it leans toward a shoujo-inspired aesthetic.

( She’s pretty particular about her outfits though! You can imagine her wearing the outfits in the image below but making sure that it covers her entire body while still looking stylish! If the dress is short, she makes sure to wear something underneath to cover it up. You'll never catch her out while showing any visible skin. Nope, not happening. >:( )

Luna used to have zero fashion sense—she rarely knew what to wear, so she'd just throw on whatever random clothes she had in her closet. That was until the coquette mcs and queen brittney herself came into her life! (miyuna @vii-strawberry, nyx @imvietnamesenotchinese, and [REDACTED] @cronchybuffalo) they basically gave her fashion tips and a full-on makeover, showing her how to dress more confidently. The trailer for Halsey’s fifth album, “The Great Impersonator”, is out and I am losing my mind over this. Hi if you don’t know me, I’m Sid. I like animation and TV, but I’ve been obsessed with Halsey since 2016.

Let’s talk about “The Great Impersonator” trailer real quick. Video below for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. [Brace yourselves, this is gonna be a long one.]

So Halsey is an alternative musician who plays with two sides to their storytelling and concept albums: we have Halsey and Ashley.

Halsey is typically more fictitious and focusing on a specific aesthetic for a story like BADLANDS for grimdark dystopia, hopeless fountain kingdom for a twist of toxic relationships in the context of Romeo and Juliet, and If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power being this story of the woman who is the Madonna and a mom in this medieval period.

Meanwhile, Ashley focuses more so on the person behind the music. It’s the more private side to the person who we don’t see quite often. We hear their stories but not them. Ashley’s main album is Manic, which is one of my favourite albums from them. (All the music is good, but Manic hits me different.)

So it’s interesting to see this new twist on who Ashley/Halsey is. Halsey is experimenting with different sounds here based on different decades as a means to explore who they are. It’s especially prevalent given that they suffered from some serious illnesses back in 2022, which made them question if this would be her last album.

Which… Yikes.

It’s very easy to see how this would lead to them asking big existential questions about who they are, their artistry, and generally spiralling. And because of these two sides to Halsey/Ashley, it brings them to seemingly question everything at once.

But let’s get into why The Great Impersonator is making me lose my mind.

So far from the album, we have four releases: The End, Lucky, Lonely is the Muse, and Ego.

THE END is the most tender and heartbreaking song so far, and it was THE FIRST thing we heard from Halsey after so long. It’s an acoustic guitar singing about Halsey’s difficulties with their health, repeatedly having issues with neurodivergence and bipolar disorder, lupus and just so many more medical issues they had to face. It really is an incredibly starting song given the context of The Great Impersonator being set off because Halsey doesn’t know when their last moment would be, and that’s represented by its lullaby-like melody. Even ending on a cliffhanger because there is no closure for this, and it’s unsatisfying as an ending.

LUCKY interpolated Brittney Spears’ Lucky and Monica’s Angel. It’s going for a very 2000’s feel and ties together Halsey’s fame, what they really feel, and their struggle with health again (which ties back to THE END). It’s from a place of simultaneously being proud of how hard they worked to get where they are the fact they even have a career in music in the first place, in addition to how isolating it is to be in this industry in the first place. Along with that, it’s a love letter to Brittney Spears for inspiring them, and even was an inspiration for Walls Could Talk, which is one of my favourite songs.

Now let’s have a quick chat about singles.

Halsey’s pre-album singles have never been the most optimal. The songs they release are always good to great, but the song that grabs the audience by the throat and snarls in front of them is usually released after the album has been released with audience response clear, or it takes quite a bit of time to grow on the audience.

It’s a top five song for me now, but I know I got so confused by Clementine when that released for Manic, because it was so different. It didn’t grab me immediately, but I grew to love the vulnerability and insecurities of an artist’s dreamworld. That being said, Halsey’s pre-album singles were never optimal.

While unclear how much control Halsey has over the choice for the singles, after If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, they switched record labels they were signed to. So while The End and Lucky are really good songs, they didn’t feel like “the song I will scream from my rooftops about.” So I expected as much.

Then Halsey fucking drops LONELY IS THE MUSE.

This is an incredibly scary and haunting Halsey song. Absolutely incredible. It’s like taking the melody of “People Disappear Here” in combination with the raw fury of “Experiment on Me” and tied together the themes of “Angel on Fire” with “Lucky”.

The song itself speaks about how Halsey has done so much to inspire so many artists and have them get awarded for their music (Chainsmokers’s Closer is the most obvious one.) but also speaking to the intense desire to be loved so badly that even asking people to use her and discard them when they’re done. “I will always reassemble to fit perfectly in view / for anybody that decides that I’m of use” and that intense anger at being seen as a stepping stool for others to achieve what they want at her expense.

This is the first pre-album single of Halsey’s that I’ve ever been like “Oh, they mean BUSINESS.” In combination with the other three, it’s such an incredible trio of songs that combines the tender, artistic, and furious sides of this artist.

My favourite Halsey songs are often where they unleash their inner rage goddess. [The Lighthouse, Nightmare, Forever... (is a long time)]

After this, I was incredibly excited for the album because of the diverse range of sounds in the alternative genre.

Then we got EGO.

Now while EGO hasn’t officially been released yet, Halsey performed it at KOKO in London. (As someone who was in London, I’m definitely not salty I didn’t go, but it’s fine.) so you could probably find a phone recording of it online

It has this incredible 90’s rock vibe to it. All about (again) the loneliness Halsey feels and the ego they have about their fame and life.

All of these are really amazing choices for singles, but the thing about The Great Impersonator that’s making me go wild is What’s Next?

Halsey’s website just shows the album title, the trailer, text, and an obscured date for 2024. (Fans think it’s for 15 November, but no confirmation yet.)

But Halsey has told us everything already.

If you look at EGO’s teaser art, it’s of two dice. Now this might not mean anything, but it does.

A while ago, Halsey quite launched a website called “For My Last Trick” (morbid, I know.) and on it, there’s four symbols: a question mark for The End, a cracked star for Lucky, and now a pair of dice for Ego. Each were blurred out until the next song was announced/released.

Alongside having some ties to the cover art of these symbols (the question mark needs its own section) also appear in The Great Impersonator trailer.

We got the cracked Star for Lucky, to represent Halsey exploring what their musical identity in the 2000s.

Then we got the dice for Ego, which has an accompanying visual with it. My assumption is that this is the music video for Ego whoever it releases.

We also got a whole other dark song snippet in this trailer for the 90’s decade. From what I could understand from the lyrics it sounded like: “Really good talk / Baby, come inside”

Now there’s one more blurred symbol, which represents a song that isn’t out yet. And I believe true trailer releases the symbol: a number 5 pool ball.

Seemingly, this is supposed to represent the 80’s version of Halsey and experimenting with music of that decade. “Everything is seventeen for the last eleven years.”

We don’t get a direct symbol for the 70’s, but interestingly enough the 70’s seems to have the question mark which we associate with The End. Is The End also a homage to the 70’s? We also get a partial look at what seems to be The End’s single art so I would assume so.

I think this is such as strong way to introduce this new era of Halsey, and I think so many of these singles were amazing choices. Honestly, listening to Halsey is like experiencing a full novel from your favourite author. Or a film from your favourite director.

There’s always a story here. I’m excited to see what’s next! I assume Ego and music video get its official release, then the 70’s song, followed by the Pool Ball symbol song. I’m so pumped for this journey I’m about to go on.

Don't you think there's something off about the way conservative women subsume their ideology into aesthetic? Like, it's most obvious on Tumblr where there's a large contingent of completely unhinged conservative women posting pink and blue doilies and photos of white babies. But obviously, if you look at the most prominent conservative influencers who are women, you see the same echo.

It's prominent in everyone from Abby Shapiro to Brittney Dawn. They all present a curated aesthetic which is their primary selling point, and import their right wing ideas as a secondary. Like Abby Shapiro is really the "classic" example of this. She brands herself like a lifestyle channel and relagates her hateful ideology to a component of that lifestyle.

And honestly, now that I'm thinking about it, it's not just women. The male influencers center "debate" "conversation" and "ideas" but when you look into how they make their money- from Joe Rogan all the way to Alex Jones- it's all lifestyle products.

There's definitely a major gender affirmation aspect here. Like, the rightwing lifestyles being marketed online are by and large binary hypermasc and hyperfem. But I think the biggest component is an embrace of the narrative that consumption and identity are the same. Because the right is so deeply vested in capitalism and imbibing it in every aspect of their lives, the aesthetic and the lifestyle brand has to be at the center of the conversation.

Decentering consumption for even a moment acknowledges that there is possibility outside the capitalist mode- and that just can't be allowed. So aesthetic and the consumption of products to affirm that aesthetic is fundamental to reactionary politics.
