3x01 thoughts!!!!! book spoilers abound. there's also probably a ton of stuff i'll forget to comment on since i didn't stop to note anything during the episode so as not to miss even a moment of it!

i will also note that i heard some new music mixed in with previous seasons' tracks during the 15 minutes at the beginning before the event started! i can't wait for the full soundtrack!! and all of the shredding music was insanely good, i really hope there will be a nice long track on the OST that includes all of it (the piece during the battle inside the tower reminds me a lot of the rings theme from ROP, which is neat. maybe a new theme for the black ajah?)

moiraine saving siuan during the battle! i got so emotional! in the extended s3 preview after the episode, it did show siuan speaking with moiraine in the fish hut about rand needing to kneel to the tower, so i'll be intrigued to see how that conversation might come about (if it's even in the real world?) after moiraine's left tar valon without mending fences with siuan.

our first avirand interaction! 10/10 no notes! i love the bickering vibe they have to start off and am excited to watch their relationship grow over the course of the season. this episode also does a good job of explaining why they get off on the wrong foot: rand is annoyed that avi is putting her expectations onto him and being demanding of what she wants from him as the potential car'a'carn, and avi is annoyed that rand isn't living up to her expectations and doesn't have any investment in the aiel people the way the car'a'carn should.

glad to see egwene getting a chance to talk to elayne and nynaeve about her trauma and the struggles she's having in her relationship with rand. the show is committed to maintaining the weight of what happened to her in s2 and exploring how it affects her long-term! elayne going from a confidante for egwene about her relationship with rand to later rand's partner herself with egwene's blessing - i'll be super intrigued to see how they handle that shift in a future season, because it's a delicate emotional situation. i'm guessing that whatever closure randgwene gets this season will be solid enough that it will feel believable for egwene to sign off on her friends elayne & avi dating him in potentially s4.

and then later we see egwene and nynaeve teasing elayne about avi, which was so adorable <3 i always loved the book scenes of the wondergirls gossiping about their love lives together, and i'm thrilled that this episode paid homage to it!

speaking of, we ALSO got a scene of the wonderboys gossiping about their love lives together, which i don't think the books ever really did thanks to RJ's seeming conviction that guy friends don't confide in each other about personal things the way girl friends do. but the show has delivered! equality is restored!!! overall a very fun and wholesome scene between the boys here. (though we do find out by implication that rand has not told anybody the truth about having slept with a disguised lanfear, setting the stage for that to be an earthshattering discovery for egwene later. i do hope they can frame the randgwene breakup in a way that doesn't feel like lanfear/randfear is the main catalyst, but rather in a way that feels like they would have inevitably broken up regardless of that because they just aren't right for each other.)

i'll admit to being sad that we didn't really get any dedicated cauthor interactions, just a couple of quick little moments slid into group scenes, but they've had so much one-on-one time in the first two seasons that i can acknowledge, objectively, it's fair to give the one-on-one time to other duos among the group in this episode haha but i'll cross my fingers for them to reunite for s4!

the moiraine-lanfear shaky temporary alliance is very intriguing! lanfear calling ishy "a gentle soul" djkfjg it's a good way to set the stage for the other forsaken and explain how they pose a different threat than what we've seen from ishy and lanfear, due to just wanting rand dead and not caring about getting him to join their side.

we also see mat uncontrollably speaking the old tongue. i cracked up the first time he did it and the gang was just like ".........." and he went "um carry on" hjdkfhkgh and then i LOVED his and nynaeve's one-on-one moment later, it was incredibly sweet and a lovely fleshing-out of a friendship duo we haven't really seen yet (on that note, pour one out for mat and egwene STILL not really getting to have an interaction, i don't think!). anyway, it's wonderful to see nynaeve slipping back into her wisdom role as caretaker of the group (and we can see that this gives her some confidence back after she's been feeling like such a failure channeling-wise), and i like that we hear about the traumatic side of mat's new hero memories with images of battles and pain and death haunting him 24/7. him admitting that he's struggling with this (and only after nynaeve pushes hard for him to admit it) after we've seen him living it up and putting smiles on all episode is such a good illustration of book!mat's whole "he'll holler about a papercut but treat a broken leg like it's nothing at all" attitude. he really sees his duty as being the light of the group and doesn't want to burden his struggling friends by confiding his own struggles in them. baby!

egwene accepted test speedrun! i was glad they made it brief but impactful, since we've already seen one in-depth test with nynaeve, no need to do it again. but her heading out of the city with rand & co at the end of the episode is the final nail in the coffin of my hopes for a gawene meeting this season :( i'll be interested to see how they get them to cross paths later, because from my perspective it seems like a tough thing to manage, logistically speaking! but you never know how they might shift things around.

in the books, gawyn's motive for defecting from elaida's army is that he hears egwene is her captive and he wants to help her. he needs to be sufficiently emotionally connected to her in order for that to happen - just a friend or a mild crush would be 100% fine, they don't need to have any real romance yet, so as long as s4(?) has them cross paths long enough to establish a good enough connection that we believe gawyn would desert his own men for egwene, we're all good. they could also change his motive, of course, but that might make me sad. unless it's a really good alternate motive! or, ooooooh, what if gawyn is still with elaida and is inside the tower during egwene's captivity arc, and he defects by helping her escape or something? that could be VERY tasty, and would delay his moment of switching sides longer to give them more time together beforehand and therefore accommodate their first meeting being pushed til later than it was in the books. i will count on gawene to be the slowburn romance i crave but have been denied elsewhere (more on that in a bit)

also, alviarin!! as we suspected. i noticed her when the cold open first dropped and i recognized her from the accepted test trailer shot, and i was like "this is the most beautiful woman i've ever seen in my life so if this really is alviarin then the shadow can take me" haha i'm excited to see more of her this season! the show continuing to bat 100 on making everybody hot! (also, we didn't get any confirmation this episode on whether tsutama and galina survived the battle, so hopefully that will come soon. galina had to have, surely, so hopefully tsutama did too!)

our first (and only this season, alas, but i expected that) randlayne scene! loved it so much! we get them bonding over duty and elayne teaching him about politics (hooooopefully a tee-up for a bigger arc of her teaching him wetlander politics in s4?), and an arm-touch and a smile. with both randlayne and avirand, they did a good job establishing a Vibe that's easy to imagine shifting into romance, but for now is subtle enough that viewers won't immediately take it as flirty and be indignant on egwene's behalf (not to mention it wouldn't fit rand's current headspace to be having flirty vibes with new people).

but who does have an overtly flirty vibe is avilayne! this was by far the most unexpected part of the episode for me. never in a million years would i have guessed they'd hook up already in 3x01. i'll be honest, and this is probably an unpopular opinion, but............i don't like it! i'm disappointed! i wanted a slowburn, i wanted to have to wait for it and build anticipation and cheer when it finally happened! i feel that i've been shortchanged out of getting to watch their relationship blossom and develop organically; instead, they've never met by the end of s2 and then by the start of s3 they're suddenly hooking up, and the only buildup we get is a couple flirty conversations and other characters telling us that they have vibes with each other. the focus on Immediate Flirting felt like the show going "hey we really want you to know immediately that both these characters are sapphic and that avirandlayne will be a throuple instead of a V in this version, so here, they're going to hook up right off the bat just so that you know right away they aren't straight" and i get shows wanting to establish characters' queerness as soon as possible since they'll be assumed straight otherwise, but the hookup didn't feel earned in my opinion (and even all the flirting was a bit too heavy too soon for my taste, oh how i love my slowburns). elayne said "finally" and i was like "what do you mean finally, i've only been watching you guys interact for 5 minutes?" it felt like i was only seeing that they're into each other, but not WHY they're into each other because, at least according to what i can still remember from the episode, so much of their pre-hookup conversation time was dedicated to flirty quips rather than meaningful conversation. for readers, them hooking up makes sense because we know how deep their book relationship is and that they're involved in a polycule together, but for show-onlys who don't have that context i feel like it would feel like a very random pair-the-spares that just kinda got dropped on them out of the blue. though i'll definitely have to rewatch to listen to those conversations more closely and see if there was more emotional depth there than i'm remembering, because i was so startled by the hookup that a lot of the episode's prior content flew out of my memory! i did like their conversation about rand and duty (and likewise elayne's conversation with rand about avi and duty), because there we do see that elayne understands avi and is able to reach her emotionally.

with siuaraine we had a wlw romance that was pre-established, and i was really looking forward to getting to watch a slowburn gradual development arc for a wlw romance with avilayne, but instead they moved faster and more offscreen than even any of the book romances ever did :( still, they DID frame it as a fairly casual thing, more flirtation and hookup than serious feelings, so i'll have to hope that they get some more depth added whenever they next see each other and that we'll get to watch their relationship grow and evolve and have an actual arc. me, i never like it when a romance is too easy in fiction! i don't want to see any of my favorite ships just fit together perfectly immediately and get together right away with no problems and be perfectly happy forever thereafter! hopefully, the addition of rand into the relationship will present a nice new emotional spin on the established avilayne dynamic so that we can watch their relationship with each other shift and grow. (and i JUST KNOW that avilayne already being a thing pre-rand will 100000x worsen the "why is a man ruining my f/f ship!!!!" reactions from certain segments of queer WOT fandom when he does start joining lmao and i'm sure plenty of show-onlys who don't already know about the polycule will be like "wait but i thought they were lesbians??" when they start having vibes with rand because audiences often tend to forget that bisexuality exists and assume that a character's sexuality is 100% determined by the gender of their first onscreen partner.)

so, yeah! i don't like this change, and i don't think i'll ever like it as much as i would have liked a proper avilayne slowburn no matter what else the show does with it in future seasons, but hey, getting explicit confirmation that romantic avilayne is in the cards is of course a great thing, so in that respect i am happy! i think i am just Like This about wanting to really be made to wait for it with romances, because i remember watching s1 as a show-only and being shocked that lanaeve hooked up when they did because it felt way too early to me.

on the other end of the spectrum of avilayne being thrown together too fast, we also have randgwene getting dragged out too long. i like their scenes in this episode and i'm sure it will be a very well-written emotional arc, and they DO need closure what with the way the show set up their relationship in the first two seasons, but again, just not my favorite adaptational change. i think i would've liked it more if we saw them break up in this episode and then navigate the emotional waters of Exes On A Roadtrip in the rest of the season as opposed to them probably spending most of the season both clinging onto an obviously dead relationship in a way that kinda feels like a waste of time and makes it so that there's even less breathing room in between their breakup with each other and their getting-togethers with their future partners, but of course we've only seen one episode so i'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds! if they break up in ep5 (which is when "egwene learns rand's dark secret," and maddy mentioned having a really good and cathartic scene with josha under the block 3 director), then that would leave a few episodes post-breakup to let the dust settle and watch them begin to build a new equilibrium with each other, and then i'd guess there might be a month+ timeskip between s3 and s4 to give them time to travel back out of the waste.

okay that's enough criticisms considering that i truly did LOVE this episode haha it's only that The Romances are my most-highly-anticipated thing so i get extra-sensitive to things not playing out Exactly The Way I Envisioned. but in the past the show has always delivered something even better than what i'd envisioned in the times when it went in a direction i didn't expect, so i will wait and see and trust in rafe & co!

moving on! i want to quickly revisit elayne trying to smooth things over with avi and rand, which i mentioned briefly above in the avilayne discussion. i loved these moments so much!!! elayne taking her duties as Chief Communicator Of The Future Polycule very seriously haha i'm so delighted that we did get a little connection formed between the three of them in this episode, but in an appropriately subtle way for the very very early stage we're in here. they definitely did a good job of establishing foundations to revisit later next time these three are together, even if i wish avilayne's foundation wasn't established QUITE this firmly this soon lmao although, now we're opening the door for "how to establish a polycule when two partners have already hooked up?" (or rather, have already hooked up AND parted on good terms that make it clear a repeat would be welcome, as opposed to book!rand having pre-polycule hookups but then parting on bad terms and thinking there's no future), and that could be quite an interesting new emotional spin on the polycule to look at. from avi's bafflement at the idea of Lying With No One Else in s2, it seems open relationships might be the norm for aiel, but how would elayne react to reuniting with avi & rand and learning that avi is growing interested in rand? would she feel any jealousy at first, or would she be all aboard right away? maybe we could get elayne trying to wingman avi with rand while also developing a crush on him herself, that would be adorable and hilarious.

and there's also the min of it all - if elayne joins up with avi & rand for s4 (which...........i feel like she HAS to, it's the only window of opportunity for making those relationships happen, and rand will definitely be in need of a wetlands politics teacher since moiraine will be gone without having taught him much about it yet), will min come with her? will she join the polycule in s4 as well? it's very interesting that, again, another episode with min and rand in the same city but they did not cross paths, so now we know they won't see each other all season. given that, would it feel too rushed for him to be romancing her as well as avi and elayne in s4? they DID already have a meaningful one-on-one scene in s1, so now on equal grounds with randlayne there, but that will have been aaaaages ago (for both the characters and the audience) by the time s4 rolls around, so i don't know if it would be able to lead into s4 romance the way randlayne's more recent meaningful one-on-one scene might (plus, it's established that randlayne spent a month together and consider each other friends now, whereas min only met rand for an evening).

(given that it's now twice that the show has had rand and min in the same location and chosen not to have them interact (granted, there wasn't much space for min in this episode since it was already jam-packed), i'm continuing to lean towards my theory that they'll focus on avirandlayne for now and min will be an optional addon to the polycule if they have enough time. though her scenes with elayne this season might change that prediction if they feel like they're setting up for her to join the polycule sooner rather than later!)

maiden's kiss, 10/10 spectacular and hot and we finally got official confirmation of what the game entails, god bless. mat wants to get pegged by bain and chiad confirmed, and then "the spears get closer if you're a bad kisser" followed by mat having a dozen cuts on his neck when we next see him is a great continuation of the Nobody Wants Mat Carnally saga jdkfjgh but then chiad winks at him as she's leaving at the end of the episode which cracked me up. they just like messing with him, and he likes being messed with. good for all of them!

(also mat's toast being like "may we all get hot redheaded girlfriends" put him in the polycule so help me god!)

and we got our confirmation that the new shadowspawn type is indeed gray men! and Show Lore drop that moggy is the only forsaken who knows how to make them (and we see her doing just that), which is super interesting. it was really cool how they filmed it too and how they managed to convey the concept of an assassin that people's eyes just slide off, with the way he's just kind of glimpsed in the background of shots until the moment he attacks, and then nynaeve and the audience are very much aware of his presence but mat is still totally oblivious (though that may have also been due to lanfear entrancing him with the cards).

moiraine listening to everybody screaming in pain and refusing to help and ordering lan not to help was diabolical in the best way! the layers this woman has! and then we get the reveal that the gray man was NOT part of lanfear's scheme and therefore things got even more out of hand than she, moiraine, or lan had anticipated. also a great moment for showing lan's conflicting loyalties between moiraine and nynaeve, and him actually being angry with moiraine for her decision was a great and needed aspect of the scene.

also, confirmation that all the happenings were caused by lanfear (and moggy), so we get the bubbles of evil events without the show needing to introduce a new type of magic fuckery by using the concept of bubbles of evil as the cause for the events. a great decision!

and they did good setup with everybody's motives for wanting to go to their different locations, despite their initial plan of wanting to stay together. i wish so badly that we could have had more time with the gang all together and get to have even more one-on-one scenes for the duos who didn't get them, but i always figured they'd probably be heading out on their missions for the season at the end of ep1 instead of lollygagging around the city for a second episode. we gotta get the ball rolling!

okay! that's all the thoughts off the top of my head, but there was so much to unpack in this episode and i don't know if i even got to half of it! i'm looking forward to rewatching this episode again in the future when i can absorb it better and also pause and make notes haha i think i won't rewatch any individual episode until after the whole season is out, though, and then i'll rewatch the whole season at once (maybe not immediately after it's over, i might give it a few weeks), at which time my thoughts on ep1 might be significantly different having seen the full season.

Mobile Suit Gundam - The Witch From Mercury S2 Episode 10: The Woven Path

So two things to start. I apologize for not getting this post out until today, but it was Father's day on Sunday (I'm not a father) so was spending time with family. Secondly, really cool that Ryusuke Tarou did an end card for GWitch. They're a super cool illustrator that has just what you need when you want to see all your favorite characters happy and free of trauma, living it up in the modern day. Their Twitter is full of fun and wholesome illustrations.

Anyways, the episode at hand. A lot going on, a lot of callbacks and references, and a lot of importance pieces. Unsurprisingly, that means a lot to talk about! Well, waste not want not, I'll get started.

If it wasn't already clear, Quiet Zero is a very large piece of religious symbolism coupled with the concepts of life and death, and it's not exactly subtle. The episode starts off with a Gundnode that is placed squarely within the cross that appears on Quiet Zero, evoking comparisons to crucifixion in regards to the sins that innocent Eri is forced to bear.

From the unsuccessful attack on Quiet Zero that brought the Gundnodes out, we bounce around establishing where all the characters begin at this episode. Finding Miorine holed up in her room, the Earth house puttering about getting prepared to follow Suletta into battle, and Suletta herself talking with Elan.

I thought they did a really good job of handling the interaction between this pair, as Suletta sits on the same bench she waited at her Elan for. The current Elan doesn't sit down though, rather he faces away from Suletta. I think it's a nice touch to keep this pair's relationship distant and on different wavelengths, and in part to show this Elan running away from something yet again. It's a great little piece to his character, that thanks to Suletta's words and Norea's book, allows him to see why someone would rally against the fear. For something greater than themselves, something that they want to protect or save.

Skipping ahead a little bit between the buildup, Guel comes to Suletta to offer her a chance at redemption. Just as she did for himself, though this time in the form of a duel.

I think it's great, and I also think it's a solid callback to Utena. I also hear there's a similar scene in an older Gundam series, but I'm a first time watcher (essentially) so I wouldn't have known otherwise. Anyways, choosing fencing as the form of combat was a really great decision on Guel's part. Half ego, half character, he challenges Suletta to a form of duel that can't be fibbed or faked, one that relies on the moment itself rather than careful planning or preparation. He wants to fight Suletta to prove himself, but to also allow Suletta that opportunity. He doesn't want to hold Miorine over her, nor does he want Suletta's pity. He wants to stand alongside her, to be shown to be equals through the purest comparison possible. I love it, I really do. I love how much our little Bob has grown into a man, but truth be told, thanks to that piece towards the end of the episode, I'm scared for him.

Anyways, here's the super smooth fencing sequence.

So, Suletta wins the duel, and with it the chance to talk to Miorine. I think it's very endearing, and like many have said prior to me, does a great job of allowing Miorine to quite literally open her own door. Before that though, she's crushed under the weight of her own actions, unable to move forward. Suletta doesn't offer her mother's hollow words to justify sacrifice, but rather approaches Miorine as someone who shares a terrible burden as well. I could say a lot more, but I'm going to summarize with this: it's the inverse of Suletta's experience at Plant Quetta. It's Suletta reaching out a caring hand to support Miorine through her fear of violence and death that stains her vision red. Suletta herself admits to her actions at Plant Quetta to establish that comparison for this moment.

Through this conversation, she uses a lot of the words that her mother gave her. That she was protecting someone, that it was the right thing to do. She does very well at realizing her mother's grasp on her in her own way, and in experiencing senseless death first hand, comes to understand how terrible it is. And of course, Suletta is a curse breaking machine through this second cour/season, as she continues to reference her mother's words in opposition to them. What I really love is how she's internalized the original phrase, and subconsciously uses it now, in her own ways, to uniquely support and encourage the characters that need it. It changes bit by bit each time we hear it, but it's still there, and it's still Suletta's version.

Suletta does successfully encourage Miorine, and coaxes both a potential death flag and future date out of her once-again fiancé, and we get a really impactful scene of Miorine moving forward to open the door on her own.

While the act is her own, she still has Suletta waiting on the other side to support her. Suletta still extends a hand out to Miorine, like her own mother did back on Plant Quetta. But rather than excusing or justifying Miorine's actions, she's accepting them alongside Miorine, providing a hand to hold onto while she fights onwards. What I really like with this scene is its subtleties. Suletta's hand reaches out further than Miorine's, but despite that action of reaching out, she places her open hand beneath Miorine's to allow Miorine to reach out for Suletta as well, and when Miorine does reach out, there's hesitation at first. And then there's the ending scene of their hands intertwined, where they both appear in the center of the frame without one side greater than the other. Really small details, but I think really important in regards to how the pair are interacting with and approaching each other. It's incredibly cute, and is only further bolstered by the use of a piano rendition of the opening song that punctuates this entire interaction.

With Miorine out of her room, the plan to begin an assault on Quiet Zero can begin, as Suletta climbs into the monster Calibarn to prep.

There's not a whole lot to comment on as Miorine retakes the reins of the Benerit Group, and even pays a visit to Shaddiq prior to the Calibarn testing. The real impactful piece is Miorine during Suletta's permet score testing. Despite the pain that Suletta's in as she climbs the scores, Miorine is the one that pushes her through to success. I think it's really great how much confidence she has in Suletta through this sequence, and that it all melts away when she reaches the needed score.

And with that success, the Earth house bolstered by the Benerit Group sorties to challenge Quiet Zero. It's also here that my panic attack for Bob begins. He's sortied in his own Dilanza when a Schwarzette appears and fires on him, with his own brother piloting. I'm scared for two reasons: the last time Guel fought family in space his father was killed, and his brother is piloting a Gundam. This means only one of two things, Bob dies, or his brother dies. I can just barely bare Guel losing his brother as well, but losing Bob himself would be heart crushing at this point.

Anyways, onto Suletta and Calibarn rallying against Quiet Zero! I really liked this piece because you can tell that Eri is in fact, holding back against her younger sister.

Also, Calibarn is Caliban from Prospero

Yeah, that's on me, I forgot to add it in the last episode where the name was revealed. I was more so irked by the fact that it was the convenient existence of another Gundam, that I completely spaced out on the fact that Calibarn was foretold by the existence of Aerial and Prospera. So yeah, my bad, but GWitch is still holding itself close to Shakespeare's Prospero, with the ideal of bringing Ericht back to life (which is a power that the play version of Prospera does wield).

Anyways, how is Eri holding back? Well, glad you asked! It's pretty clear to see in this one sequence here. The Gundnode has several arms which wield several beam sabers against Suletta and Calibarn's one. Child's play to understand that Eri could have ended the fight then and there, but instead opted for a more even playing field for Suletta. Really nice touch to show the love that Eri still has for Suletta.

And the icing on the cake, Ericht now appearing above her own casket. The whole idea of a cradle existing within her own casket, where she typically resides is a lot, and speaks to Prospera's grief for her lost daughter, so this sequence takes a different approach. Suletta's only ever seen Eri as Aerial (well, she used to, now they're separate), so the concept of her being "dead" doesn't ring true for her.

It's here that we find our episode's end though. Left on a cliffhanger, waiting to discover the fate of many of our characters, and what will become of Suletta and Ericht. Lots of great stuff, and I'm very curious to see if GWitch will stay true to it's Shakespearean roots.

Changes coming around

So, I know I've been gone, but I kind of want to change how this blog will function later on. As much as I adore Avery's story and his interactions with others, there's a pretty big project that I'm working with @ask-tay-relic ! A massive one that comes from the heart of both of us. Avery won't be gone, but I want to focus on this, it's a passion that I truly desire to have completed.

Basically: This is gonna change to be the primary source of updates considering the Project as well as life updates whenever they appear! Including situations with my friend. All the while, I shall put out posts every once in a while to bring this world of ours to life. The Primary way of doing so, is through Videos that I make by my own hand and voice to give you these details. From the smallest little creatures, to the biggest of stages. This project is going to be a fantastic cooperation between him and I. I hope that you join us on this journey through this project that will be years in the making! The Project?

I hope you don't mind this, but I'll still be around should there be interest in interactions. But right now? A dream is coming to life, and I want to share it with everyone.

Fun fact: I got to meet Aurelio Voltaire recently! It was exciting and fun! Super wholesome dude and I can't wait to see him again next year from what I can gather from my mom.

I just remembered that when I saw Encanto ( me and my friends almost shat urself because of Isabella's song cause she says like row of roses in og and in FR they said 'mes roses sont rose and rose' is fr word for pink so we're trying our best to not disturb the five other person in the room because we were like 'WHOUA congratulation gurl ur roses are fucking rose U DONT SAY' anyway) and while watching my feral writersbrains on an MHA phase was like HEY IDEAA and I though about it for months I'm not even joking I saw encanto late december in 2021 and almost spent my whole second semester of 2022 thinking about it, planning and drawing it. And now that I started to really use this blog for my fics and arts I will now explain to you my Encanto/My Hero Academia extensives fanfic idea enjoyyy

The parallel between Mirabel and Izuku is mind blowing (Waiting on a Miracle was like textbook quirkless Izuku of the start of MHA yes ?) So I thought of this : Imagine if quirkless people had a things, a sort of ritual, that one would do when they were going to end their life its like super simple juste light a white candle (I hadn't though of the implication so far but I was thinking something like to represent those who went before them those still living and those that would follows it that makes sense ?) Imagine Izuku that was just told by Bakugou ukw and All Might saying No u can't be a Hero ? Whitout going into details Izuku does the candle things but before he dies the candle juste burst to life and saves him in a burst of lights ((I should draw that ....)) and it's a crossover it is NOT an AU

In this crossover... Izuku is a direct descendent of Mirabel. Madrigal, Midoryia same thing. And when Izuku did what he did the Miracle of familia Madrigal protected him like it protected them before. Izuku was saved by the Miracle but the Miracle is directly linked to him now and thats mean that now he can use the powers of the miracle. And he can see the Madrigals too and can interact with them and that the story of how Izuku Midoryia gots his quirk and got trained by ghost of his ancestors.

Imagine how he would pass the entrance exam the physical portion part would be something to watch for sure because he use a lot of different things while the only information they have on the quirk is that it's called somethings like legacy or Madrigal's legacy and All might thinks that AFO is behind it because it is not normal blablba. So he really does a good impression etc (specially Nezu that boy smart and he knows it)

the drawbacks of Legacy are things like migraines, sensory overlord, sore muscle to the point he can't move etc he has drawback for almost all gifts because while the Madrigal's lived with their power for years etc he just got them. + He has to shape up a lot for Luisa's gift and he can't use it often so he doesn't rely on it.

List of power goes as this : -Super Force (Luisa) - Flora control (Isabella) - Healing (Julietta) - Wheater control (Pepa) - Future Vision (Bruno) - Shapeshifting (Camillo) - Animal Affinity (Antonio) - Super Hearing (Dolores) -Casita (I love the theory where casita spirit is Mirabel's abuelo)

Loving the wholesome moment with other Madrigals etc and of course adding my favorite part the one were he gets adopted by Aizawa because that my idea and I decide.

was also thinking of making Izuku's father reaaaaaly similar physically to Bruno and him being a good dad but completely clueless to what happened with Izuku (I want Hisashi Midoryia to be an Historian/Archélogue and that's what he will be.)

Starting off this page at 3:57 am on a sunday morning definitely gives a little bit of insight into the slightly unhinged lil story I'm living in. Yes I'll be the protagonist and you could follow me to find out what in the ( and i can't stress this enough) absolute fuck I've been upto lately.

Today let's just say I woke up at 3:30 am , had the sudden urge to turn my life around. Then I read a little bit of Murakami's "Norwegian wood" .

I'll show you the lil note I made that I thought would help in totally changing my life. For the better or worse we'll have to wait and watch.

'Here' refers to the city where my college is. It's a Government Medical College in a pretty big city in Kerala, India and I'm right now hopefully a third year student. I say hopefully since I've still not passed a paper from my second year which if I don't pass in one more chance, I might just get expelled. Absolutely no pressure.

The sweatpants and tees are since I've decided to start going to the gym since two of my friends started going and i have seriously got to do something about my weight. I might be super cute but I'm severely underweight, right now running on 32 kg (70.5 lb). Oh I didn't mention, I'm 22 and I'm yay high. Nah I'm super short standing at a majestic height of 4'9. It's a thing I'm really bummed out about since noone takes me seriously because of my tiny appearance. It particularly affects the way patients interact with me but I do have a good way of speaking in a really mature manner which helps compensate for it.

Now about nitc. National Institute of Technology, Calicut.

How is it related to me? Well that's where my ex boyfriend is studying. I'll tell you about our what i thought was really wholesome relationship in the coming days. I don't wanna spoil everything on the first entry. But the current status is that he dumped me three days ago because he felt that we're incompatible. The box I am planning to send includes some gifts I had bought for him since I didn't know what was coming plus two of his college's tshirts that i don't think wearing anymore would be good for my mental health.

On 25th, my second sessional ( internals) exam would be starting and it ends on 28th . On that day we will have to shift out hostel rooms. And currently my roommate situation is a little bit complicated which I'll tell you about in time. So I need new roommates and texted three of my friends at 5am about the pros and cons of living with me and asked whether they would be interested in doing so. Main pros I mentioned was that am a really chill person who won't judge if they play their music aloud and stuff like that. My clothes fit them almost always so just like how we already do, we can continue to share the wardrobe. Also we could sneak in drinks and we'll drink them occasionally when we feel particularly happy. I don't know of many girls who drinks in the hostel and we usually have to sit on the stairs and drink from seven up bottles pretending it's water and it takes half the fun away.

We could also make the room pretty aesthetic which is something I'm rather fond of that i haven't seen many other people care much about. Another advantage is that we could call proxys for each other which also is not something a lot of people are ready to do. Also since we're really close friends we could comfort each other and be there for each other whenever needed. We could study together but that's entirely upto them and if they don't want to do that it's totally okay.

Buying the bean bag chair is part of making the room aesthetic and comfy but that will only work if the room is big enough. So I'll have to decide whether or not to do it after getting the room.

A single room is something I've always wanted but it's hard to get and there are a lot of disadvantages to it and to be honest I'm not sure about it. But since it has been a dream of mine, I thought I'd give it a thought.

Here we are! What a journey, and while perhaps this season wasn't at MoM level it was REALLY good, with great new villains/allies, great little throwbacks and an awesome story! 🤩

This type of plot twist reminds me of our early seasons. Zane sacrificing himself, Garmadon giving up his life, those moments that made me so curious and excited about the following. I have no idea what will be the outcome for this, but I can't wait to find out

With that out of the way, AMAZING SEASON 😍😍😍 I think this finale beats MoM's, just because it was really unexpected and opens up a SEA of possibilities... yeah too soon 😭

I'm still shaken, my world, they did something HUGE and I do hope it will be a good shake to the entire Ninjago plotline. Nya is "gone", we still don't know about the person behind all that vengestone, we haven't heard from Garmy in forever, there are so many good ideas out there now that they've set the ground for more 🤩🤩

Voice acting was *chef's kiss*, not only for the villain which I already stressed enough about, I think Kelly reached a new level of emotional intimacy with Nya and I'm so happy she showed her skills 💜💜

Animation is TOP, there's little to no point into saying anything else since they showed it very clearly in the latest season ☺

This was the emotional, witty and engaging writing I was looking for! Good jokes, meaningful dialogues, emotional scenes, everything was really good and I'm gonna rewatch some scenes especially for that 😍

It turned out having Maya and Ray back was kind of a distraction to fool us all 😅😅 Well played actually, and it was very cool seeing them again in any case 🙋‍♀️

And now? Jay lost his love, I have no idea if the show will work on him getting over her or hold onto her memory (thinking of Jay probably the latter, although I do think that handling the first would be an interesting idea). KAI LOST HIS SISTER 😢😢😢 I have no doubt he's gonna beat himself up for it, like he did when Zane was gone too. Everyone lost their friend, she had become such a vital part of the team and now she is not here anymore it will be hard...

They are back with the four plus one green savior formation, I sincerely don't know how I feel about that 😅 I'm always happy when we get the OGs, but this is about going on without Nya... maybe Skylor will be called? Or Pixal will be more active? That could be interesting to see, who knows 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Gosh, how are they going to handle the next season? It will have to give A LOT of answers to the millions questions we all have right now. Man I can't wait, it could be anything!!! This is a Ninjago revolution!

But if I have to mention a little complain, and I'm a fangirl so I absolutely have to, Kai didn't show much of a reaction to Nya's "departure". Okay, she didn't straight up die like in Skybound (I'm gonna fear all BOUND seasons from now on 😱), but he's her brother and he loves deeply his family. Either we're gonna see him go all out next season, or the writers really did only focus on Jaya. A tiny bit salty... but you got me a fantastic finale so I'll move on 👍

Outstanding, I'm blown away. Whenever I think I'm used to this show they do stuff like this. I'm so glad and sad you guys 😅 But mostly happy that despite everything I still get very strong emotions while I watch this long time favorite show of mine 💜💜💜

What else can I say at this point? ONTO NEXT SEASON!!! 🤩🤩🤩

it's crazy seeing what someone left behind. knowing that you'll probably never meet or know that person. but you got to see a glimpse of them, a part of themselves that they chose to share on paper. i just think that's really neat.

bookmark: The Monster At The End Of This Book is one of my, if not my all-time, favorite childhood books! my dad used to read it to me a lot as a kid and he was always so over the top and dramatic as he read it 💀 it always made me laugh. so honestly i think this is the perfect bookmark. it's so funny and meta and nostalgic... the perfect mixture of things. $5 😒 but at least a portion is donated

postcard: for my gf! she loves lucky cats and this postcard is holographic! the arm moves :D i just bought her a mini lucky cat about a week ago and now i got her a postcard to match. i think it's super cute and i can't wait to write something on it for her 🥺 i miss her a lot and im sad she couldn't come with me because of work

so... yeah! that was my day in NYC! i also saw a Target that had this huge light up dog. it was so COOL. i love Target and that was just the coolest Target ever. i'm sad we didn't get to go inside.

we also drove past Madame Tussauds and saw a wax Dwayne Johnson which was FUCKIN AWESOME. i wanted to go in, but we didn't have the time or money unfortunately. i would've liked to take a picture with him.

people drive like lunatics in the city, which didn't surprise me at all. they're also very liberal with the use of their horns. again, not surprising. i live in a place where people never really use their car horns often, so the sound was a bit anxiety inducing. it was kind of funny how much my dad didn't care, though. he loves the city and i think he got a dose of serotonin every time someone honked at him or cut him off. he still raged at them, but he was in his element.

also pedestrians are SO shameless. they cross the street at a casual stroll even when cars are coming or if the light is green. they take their time lmao. more unsurprising stuff but it still annoyed me.

LOTS of dogs. like, i could not go five minutes without seeing a dog. it was kind of great. even though i don't like dogs generally. but it was pretty cool how chill they all were. i didn't see a single dog bark or jump up on someone or pull on their leash. it was fuckin awesome. i think i would like dogs if they were all like that.

speaking of which, when we were sitting down and eating our custard ice cream, a woman walked by who had a small, white dog. i don't remember how we ended up talking, but she stopped by our table and started talking about our hair. my mom, sister, and i all have bright red in our hair, and she was telling us about how she wanted red in hers too. she then told us that it was her and her dog's birthday! they share a birthday and i thought that was so cute 😭 she said they were on their way to get some salmon as a birthday treat since they both love it. she was turning 73 and the dog, Coco, was turning 14! she told us the story of the day she adopted him. and then she told us about the day her mom died. i was sat there like 🤠 she said she had a wonderful phone call with her mom (who was 93) and she just got this feeling in her heart that it was time for her mom to go. like, she could hear it in her voice and she knew it was the last time they would talk. and the next morning, her mom didn't wake up. i thought it was really interesting and sad but also kind of beautiful. and i was really happy for her that she got such a good ending with her mom because i feel like most people don't get that.

and then another woman walked by who had a carrier of kittens and i saw them and went "awww!" so she stopped and let us peek in at them. they were long furred little 4 week old babies and they were mewling and trying to get out of the mesh cartier. they were soo cute 😭 she said she was just fostering them and their names were Wink and Nod. GET OUT OF HERE. that's ADORABLE.

Coco's owner then gave my sister (13) life advice. she said that if she could go back in time and tell her younger self anything, it would be to not care about what other people think. that what your friends, parents, ANYONE thinks doesn't matter. the only thing that matters is what you think. follow your heart, love your dreams, don't waste your time doing what other people want and worrying about what they think of you. and i thought that was really fuckin awesome.

so if you're a 73 year old lady who lives in new york city and owns a little white dog named Coco who shares the same birthday as you: i love you. never change.

overall, there were a lot of things i loved about the city. i loved all the moving parts. i love sheer amount of places that were just... open to walk into. i loved how open people were to talking. i loved all the nooks and crannies where you could stumble upon something amazing. i loved the old architecture. the new architecture. all the modern stuff like the rentable bikes and scooters. i loved the LED signs and the tiny shops and the endless options for places to eat. the amount of different cultures represented. you could get food from anywhere around the world in the span of two blocks. there's bank on every block, a mcdonalds on every other one. SO MANY PARKING GARAGES. and pigeons! everywhere! all the time! they're so fucking cute and unafraid of people.

but if i had to pick one thing that i love the most, it'd be the diversity. seeing different kinds of people every time you blink. and not only that, but hearing people speak different languages. i think that was my favorite of all. i'm kind of a language nerd a little bit. i'm so TIRED of english. hearing people speak languages from asia, from europe, from all over the world, it was so beautiful and so refreshing. it's so cool to hear people have a fluent conversation that you just can't understand. the concept that they're exchanging real words that your brain just doesn't know is SO COOL.

anyway, sorry for the super long post. i needed to brain dump. i think i need to live in the city now. if only i weren't so damn poor.

OKAY HERES THE NYC POST I KEEP MEANING TO MAKE!!

so firstly here's the first photo i got in the city!

i took it through the sun roof in our car. it was so surreal seeing all the giant billboards. one of them was so high def that i didn't realize it was a screen. it was so SMOOTH. shit was CRAZY. honestly, i thought the buildings would be taller 🤔 is that crazy?

and here's me in the car before we got into the city. our car doesn't have AC and it was super hot 😡 and we were stuck in traffic for over an hour trying to get into nyc. shit SUCKED but it was worth it.

here's me at Big Gay Ice Cream + a caution cone that's shaped like a banana. i love things that aren't food but are shaped like food. one of my favorite niches. definitely top three.

anyway, i was wondering if you had to be gay to work at this ice cream place, and then we walked in and i immediately clocked all three of the employees. like, i could just tell from the way they were dressed. i could tell they were my people. one of them had space buns and a crop top, one had a labret and bleached hair, and the other had a checkered button up shirt. like... come on.

crop top person saw me and was like "i love your outfit!!! 😍😍" and i was like "OMG THANK YOU" and i did the little half-heart hand gesture and THEY DID IT BACK. so... that's my nyc love story. clearly queer. no questions.

the ice cream was fine. it was more like custard. anyway.

nyc said mungrove rights. unfortunately did not find a "Steve's" so that's biphobic but at least we got representation for our two metalheads. (yes i consider billy a metalhead).

also it kills me that there's an apostrophe in "Bicycle's".

my dad, sister, and i were walking through central park (which was different then i expected but to be fair there was lots of construction happening) when we found a museum! it was free entry for the last two hours and we were super hot and my dad and i are nerds so we entered! i have a fear of big things so seeing these elephants gave me the heebie jeebies like nothing else! but i took a photo which them for the size comparison. you can see the fear on my face.

i learned that the scientific name for western gorillas is "gorilla gorilla) and i thought that was so funny that i took a photo of it.

ep33: I'm fucking sobbing at this wen blood pool scene. the one thing they nailed. also sisi is fucking dead because there were too many women still living in this show I GUESS

maybe this scene is the reason I see red-headband wedding fanart. I never understood that. don't disciples only ever get the one headband? why would they change to wear something else of a different color? but it's red here. I don't know, if it's meant to be wedding-adjacent by the animators maybe that red headband would have been accurate after all

jc giving jl zidian is a HUGE scene but he's supposed to return it!!! he's supposed to BREAK THE CYCLE symbolized by the use of zidian!!! JIN LING??!!!!

I wish I could enjoy the battle couple scene but I found it hard to follow the character's fights when we were so zoomed in because our views was blocked by stalagmites and shit and the camera was too shaky, and I found it unengaging when the camera was super far away. shame

fuck fuck fuck there's the wens there they are. nightmare fuel for SURE but one of the most powerful and intense scenes from the novel and one of the sole reasons I watched this show. and my god it is breathtaking

the utter horror of wwx seeing his loved ones as living corpses, the terrified bafflement that lsz must have felt when a dead woman looked and him and adressed him by name (how did she know?), the absolutely heartbreaking image of wen ning trying desperately to catch the ashes of his family as they broke into pieces around him...I was fully crying. and I didn't even know the wens. we never knew granny wen or uncle four by name, nor had any real interactions with them as people rather than wholesome backdrop. but this scene was phenomenal. my only complaint was that I don't like their character designs, but that's nothing new. I was a wreck. I don't cry very easily but here I was pausing to wipe my eyes. always a trancsendent media experience

not only was the pacing and execution of that scene brilliant, then we step right into jin ling and his grief over his parents. the whispers start about how much jin ling was spoiled by jgy, and how he's not trustworthy or reliable since...he's an orphan. I don't think this was in the book, but it fits nicely into its themes, with the quickly changing reputations and the power of public opinion and whatnot

wait im sorry why are wwx and lwj completely clean of blood was that a spiritual image of redness only? dang I wanted to see lwj all bloody. sick visual

are you kidding me one of the women is DEAD? the novel killed off almost every single named female character and the donghua people said oh no, that's not enough dead women, we need this one who appears in ONE scene to be dead as well. are you SERIOUS

also! we didn't see fucking mianmian living her best married life! this donghua is goddamn useless! and it's not like there's time now!

yeah yeah having them get attacked on the way is a fine addition but you didn't need to KILL one of them

that always sounded like such a weak justification for murdering his son, though. was 'their parents must be related" really a logical conclusion for the cultivation world to come to if jin rusong had any disabilities? or maybe that was point, and jgy was being paranoid as well as heartless. but it seemed like such a natural conclusion to come to for the leaders of the sects, in all adaptations. idk. is that what they automatically look to when children have disabilities?

bit of a shame that after wwx remarks that tides of public opinion turn easily, they cut his line of being sick of the cultivation world's two-sidedness, caprice, and shameless requests for his aid. the bitter cynicism seemed like a great aspect to his character arc and I was disappointed it wasn't in cql either. does donghua wwx even really have a character arc? this show might actually be worse than the novel, in a lot of ways.

the curse not being an order from jgy but rather su she's expression of hatred towards people he found arrogant...the fact that the jins die and the wens turn themselves in and wwx was thrown into despair and grief not because of a nefarious mastermind pulling the strings but because of one resentful man...su she's actions as an independent asshole with agency...there is poetry in that. I don't mind the cql changes but this story of coincidence and tragedy may be more interesting

jgy doing his little "you were bound for an early death because of who you are as a person and you all make your own problems and cause your own tragedies" hits a lot harder when jc actually LITERALLY led to seige that murdered the wens and that wwx died during (?)

oh sweet a thunderstorm. I don't think they're using the scenery to its fullest potential though

jgy's animation/voice acting/expression has been fine up until now, but here at the end I just think it falls flat. there is no beating zzj for this scene, not now when it counts the most

it's been pointed out before, but the sheer irony of jgy whining over how hard his life is because his dad's approval required him to do bad things and how his father's callousness ruined his mom's life, in front of a group of people who are ALL traumatized orphans

jc and wwx who endured jfm and myu's wretched marriage and mistreatment until their violent deaths, their bodies unable to be retrieved. wwx who had lost his parents at a very young age and was homeless for years because of it, lwj and lxc whose mother had been imprisoned until her death and whose father had locked himself away until his...and jin ling whose parents' deaths jgy is LITERALLY repsonsible for. the GALL. the self-centeredness!

jgy is such a great villain his emotional manipulation stemming from seeming as powerless and pitiable as possible in front of honorable men. jgy says "yes, I'm evil, and pathetic, and I've done terrible things, and I throw myself at your feet. this is just who I am. this is a an inherent part of me. I'm ready to repent for the rest of my life. don't you pity me? can you really kill me, in cold blood? such good men as you?"

jc hugging jl...they've made jc less odious than in the novel by cutting some of his crueler scenes but he's still a huge piece of shit and he hasn't treated jin ling very well. poor kid

I'm not invested in this jc at all. I do not care about him. I don't even hate him for the horrible things he's done. he's a narrative tool. he fulfills his function. he is adequate, but not interesting

in these times of merciful and just heroes, it's nice to have a protagonist who will cut through the bullshit and say shut up, you're a horrible person and you're clearly lying to everyone here and you definitely plan on doing more horrible things as soon as we let you leave this place

they definitely rearranged some scenes because the gc reveal MUST happen. maybe in the final ep

now I don't know how they're going to fit wen blood pool attack, sisi and bicao testimony, exploring LP, gc reveal, boat ride, possible second drunk scene?, break-in, and entire temple showdown attack PLUS the post-climax fight and epilogue material in a little over ONE hour but this show has been remarkably good at cutting important scenes so I'm sure it'll do fine. rip to the pacing though
