Alessandro peered to his left to signal some relief from his new and wonderfully sleep deprived roommate. “You’re sure that she’s okay,” he whispered softly as the crumbles fell into the wrinkles of his t-shirt.

his touch alarmed her further, causing eve to jump at the sudden shock. "sorry, sorry," the woman mumbled, focusing on her breath and not wanting to come off as a complete asshole. he was trying to comfort her, after all. hand sliding up to her shoulder, it slipped around his and clung to his now familiar touch, more in tune with reality as she managed to ground herself slightly. "yes," she nodded, "deep breaths are good. and, i mean, it's not like we have broken down or ran out of gas with no station in sight or anything, right?" just when she was about to laugh it off, it struck eve that, with her luck, they'd end up facing exactly that. "...right?" not waiting too long for an answer or she'd spiral, the woman alternated between checking her phone and looking down the road. "it almost looks like there's a little convenience store or something up there...i think. maybe. or maybe my eyes are just playing tricks on me."

alessandro immediately senses the other's panic and reaches a hand onto eve's shoulder as a means of temporary comfort. "hey.. it's okay." now probably wouldn't be a good time to tell her he doesn't do well with being lost either. who know what could happen if they both start to spiral. "deep breaths, okay? we're not far from the main road." hopefully. alessandro doesn't actually know how far he's ventured off.

he tries to swallow the lump in his throat. "just, uh, keep checking for service .. there's gotta be some somewhere out here, we just need to find it."

“I’ll see you next time I’m in DC. Maybe like this again, maybe not. Who knows?” Valeria elusively told her company from last night before kissing them one final time, slipping out of the hotel room. She hadn’t expected the night to take that turn, but she also wasn’t going to complain about reconnecting with a former work colleague now that they were no longer in the same company - although it did occur to her that only one of them had advanced in the field of politics and international relations, and it was definitely the one going back to The Capital that weekend. 

The elevator ride down to the lobby allowed her to think about what her plans were going to be for the rest of the day, aside from the doctor’s appointment she promised to accompany her mother to in the evening. As Valeria stepped out of the elevator, her mood shifted when she saw a familiar Italian photographer in front of her. “Of fucking course.” The words were mumbled as she ran a finger through her tousled locks, trying to smooth them out as much as possible. “Let me guess: you’re bored and just ended up in this hotel to loiter?” she asked the man, knowing that he’d have something to say about her situation. It didn’t take a genius to put two and two together, after all.

Las clases aquel día habían terminado antes del mediodía. El curso que Ellie tenía por la tarde había sido suspendido debido a un corte eléctrico central que dejó a toda la Facultad de Humanidades sin energía. Cuando la rubia llegó a su casa, eran alrededor de las dos de la tarde y lo único que sentía era al hambre hacerle un hoyo en el centro del estómago, el cual le rugía como si de aquel hoyo le estuviera saliendo un león.

Con el aleatorio puesto en el reproductor del teléfono, entró a la cocina y se armó de todo lo necesario para hacerse una hamburguesa, sacando de paso un bol de frutillas y un tubo de crema chantillí del refrigerador. “Por si acaso”, se dijo, metiéndose dos frutillas a la boca y colocando los ingredientes de su pronto almuerzo sobre el pequeño espacio que tenía el mueble entre la estufa y el lavaplatos. Hizo hamburguesas caseras de carne molida, cortó cebolla morada a la pluma, tomate en rodajas, lechuga en tiras y rayó un trozo de queso. Estaba a punto de sacar las hamburguesas del sartén cuando desde su teléfono comenzó a sonar “We Are Never Getting Back Together” de Taylor Swift. Por todo el departamento se escucho el “woohoo!” proveniente de la rubia, que al ritmo de la música se puso a bailar. De pronto, quedaron en el olvido las hamburguesas y el hambre, porque todo lo que había era una Ellie muy entusiasmada moviéndose en el centro de la cocina. Volvió a llenarse la boca de frutillas y, de paso, tomó el tubo de crema para que le sirviera de micrófono. Fue entonces que tuvo un deseo, prácticamente inconsciente: estar con alguien, alguien que pueda disfrutar de estupideces tanto como ella. O que tenga las suyas propias, Ellie no era demasiado quisquillosa. Cuando sus caderas ondearon en el aire una vez más y se dio la siguiente vuelta, sus alrededores se alteraron y ya no se encontraba en su cocina, pero sí seguía con las frutillas a medio comer y el tubo de crema en su mano.

—Puedo explicarlo.  —Dijo con rapidez, tragando las frutillas que todavía tenía en la boca—. Lo juro.

Ho la febbre, sono malaticcia, mi fa male tutto il corpo. Ieri ho pianto per Alessandro; nonostante si trovi in un altro continente è in grado di farmi piangere. Ieri mi ha detto che pagherà una mia "amica" per dei quadri... Quando stava con me non mi ha mai sopportato, non mi ha mai fatto sentire un artista, ai suoi occhi io stavo sempre sperimentando. Non ero mai seria. Ma lo ero, i miei lavori lo erano, erano -sono- la mia anima! E lui l'ha sempre sottovalutato.

Poi è arrivata la batosta di Marlon: il ragazzo viene a casa mia, scopiamo, scopiamo tanto.
