dear hayley and elijah, 

right now i’m writing this small letter to thank you for being there for me when i felt i couldn’t turn to my parents. i understand that you have your own children and every single day i am grateful that you both treat me as though i was one of your own. you both are wonderful parents and your children are all so lucky to have such dedicated and loving parents who are completely badass and wicked. thank you for inviting me to be part of your family and thank you for letting me bug the life out of you both when i need it.

dear sawyer, 

you’re the best big brother anybody could ask for, you know that right? i didn’t think i could ever be who i am if i hadn’t had you in my life while growing up and i understand you’re only a year older than me but each and every single day i thank whoever i should be for letting me have you as my big brother. you always protect me and i know that when it comes down to it, you will always be on my side much like i will always be on yours and will always defend you until my last breath.

dear maddie,

for all intents and purposes, you are my sister. i know that you know that already but i like to remind you. you’re my best friend, the person i can turn to no matter what happens, no matter what is going on or what my fear is because i know you have my back and you will not leave me if i was to say the wrong thing. i’ve had you by my side my whole life and i am very grateful for you being there, for never leaving me despite the times that i have no doubt deserved it. i will always be there to hold your hand and give you a shoulder to cry on. i will always be there to be your sister, i swear on my life.

dear mom and dad, 

this a letter to say i am grateful to be your daughter. i am happy that i will have you there for me when i need it. i promise to respect you and trust you in every way and i’m sorry for when i become annoying and can seem spoilt. i’m sorry for all the days i can spend locked away in my room with a book but i am thankful for the way you inspire me to follow my dreams, to let my mind grow every single day. you inspire me to be better than what i am and i am proud to be your daughter.
