#surprisingly low amount of mothy considering everything but also every time i was tempted to put him i slapped my own hand away and thought#abt it some more until i went 'yeah i do probs listen to kakakuri burst more than regret message'#'you are not putting gift from the princess who brought sleep there . that's not even your fave mothy miku song.'#and 'you are not putting atelier horloge in there . you're not. you wouldn't gaf abt that song were it by any other producer'#so now the mothy songs that are there are the ones that are either 1) an undeniable favorite (i never liked gumi before i got into mothy .#like i actively disliked gumi until i listened to him use her. i still don't like most of the gumi songs ik) or 2) i don't listen to much#meiko and i can't think of a song using her that isn't by him (i don't listen to much meiko)#and y'know. pushing almost all the mothy songs out no matter how much i like them may seem like it's a disingenuous lineup#However it has to be this way bc otherwise it'd be a mothy greatest hits bracket and also i do feel like any song that can be compared to a#mothy song and still cause me to be conflicted abt which one i like more probs def deserves its spot bc i borderline worship the ground he#walks on.#romeo.txt#vocaloid#Youtube

Yandere Felix giving the reader princess treatment. Lix kinda love-bombing the reader and they are not aware that lix is a yandere. (If it's confusing, basically Yan-felix spoiling the reader) thank you 🤠🤠
Princess 🔪
Yandere!Felix x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Yandere , obsessive behavior, kissing, a little suggestive? (C/n = Cousin name)
——————————————————— ♡
You started dating this really sweet boy. He was so loving and caring. He always wanted to be with you and loved spoiling you. Constantly. New clothes, new plushies, new things. Although you haven’t been together for long, he always came over to your place and would sleep over a lot. You make the joke that he might as well live there.
Felix was obsessed. You’re his princess and he wants spoil you but he also feels that he needs to protect you. You’ve told him about some bad dating experiences in the past and some issues you’ve had with depression. He understood and wants to be with you forever…
You were at home, laying on the couch with the tv on. Whatever show was playing only acted as background noise. Depression was setting in a little and you were tired.
Before you could fall asleep, there was a knock at the door.
You begrudgingly got up and dragged yourself to the door.
It was Felix! You were happy when opening the door and seeing him but at the same time embarrassed.
You’ve been inside most of the day so you wore sweats along with an oversized shirt.
But that didn’t seem to matter to Felix. He was happy and cheerful as usual.
“Hi noona!” He said happily while kissing your lips and letting himself in, he had some bulky bags with him. “I heard you were a little sad so I thought I’d cheer you up!”
It was funny that he said that. You had texted him earlier that you were feeling a little down. So yeah… he heard from you.
“I bought you some gifts!” He said while taking your hand.
“Felix… maybe I should fix myself up a bit—”
“You look fine!” He interrupted. “But I’ll help you later okay?”
You nodded, watching as he pulled a big plushie from a bag. It was your favorite Sanrio character! So cute!
“For you!” He said happily while pushing it in your face.
“Aw, thank you baby…” you smiled while hugging the plush. “How’d you know that this one is my favorite?”
“Lucky guess.” Felix replied casually.
You put the plush down and Felix gave you another kiss on the lips, nod holding your hip.
“Can we spend the day together?” He asked sweetly, pulling you close.
“Yeah. We can do that.” You replied with a laugh.
~~~~
While in your room, Felix brought one of the bags and pulled out some clothes he must’ve bought recently and helped you pick out an outfit.
The cute shirt he had was one that you remember looking at but not getting over a week ago. It was interesting that he got it, but again, probably a lucky guess; I mean who wouldn’t like that shirt.
When it came to dressed you didn’t know he meant helping you literally so it was odd when he literally was dressing you.
“Lixie, you don’t have to do all this.” You chuckled as he looked through your shoes.
“But I want to, noona.” He said while getting some sneakers. “I want you to be happy.”
He was so sweet. You loved that. Sure it seemed a little much but he knew you weren’t feeling the best so that’s probably why.
“You look so cute!”
You blushed. Honestly you weren’t feeling the most confident but he always knew how to boost your ego.
You boyfriend gave you kiss on the cheek before taking your hand to lead you out.
Before stepping out the front door, Felix gave you another kiss, this time on the lips.
“So pretty, noona. I love you.”
“I love you too, Lixie.” You blushed while stepping out and locking the door behind you.
~~~
After getting an early dinner he took you to get some bingsue. You both ate from a big strawberry one. It was so good especially on the warm evening.
When finished, Felix would wipe your mouth with napkins, it was a little embarrassing but a sweet gesture.
As you went back to the car, your boyfriend pulled a small necklace from his pocket. It was rose gold with a rose shaped stone. It wasn’t too visible but on the back it actually had his initials. You always wondered where he got all this money.
“Oh wow baby. That’s so pretty.”
“Yeah it’s for you.” He said while putting it on you. “So everyone knows you’re mine!”
“Oh well…”
“Let’s go! I wanna make some sweets!”
“We already had dessert.” You chuckled awkwardly.
“But I’m gonna make more.” He said as he said in a “matter of fact” type of way.
~~~
Once back at home, you put your purse in your closet and was suddenly hugged from behind. You were a bit surprised as felix backed up into your bed. He laid down with you and held you close.
“Lixie, what are you doing?” You laughed as he poked at your side a few times.
“Loving you.” He said while continuing to poke you.
You were very ticklish there and could resist laughing as he held on.
It wasn’t long before this tickle fight turned into kissing, then full on making out. Felix’s kisses were passionate but also desperate. His hands were all over your body as you let him take over.
He started leaving sloppy kisses down your neck as you attempted to sit up.
“Baby…” you chuckled as his kissed tickled your neck. “What about the sweets you wanted to make?”
“Hm?” He didn’t seem to care and went back to kiss your lips before you pulled back.
“Hey—”
Before you could say anything else, you found yourself pinned to the bed. The mood suddenly feeling tense, and not in a sensual way.
“Baby…?” You asked awkwardly, looking up at his dead serious face.
“Im sorry noona.” He said, instantly switching back to his smiley loving self. “I just get excited.”
You were a little unnerved as you sat up and Felix helped you to your feet.
“I’m gonna start making the sweets. Go wash up your hands.” Felix said pushing you towards the bathroom.
“Okay?”
As you went to the restroom to wash your hands, Felix stayed back in your room and looked at one of your shelves. Between some books was the small camera he hid. He was glad it was still there.
~~~~
Later on in the night, you decided to take a shower as Felix got himself ready for bed. He already had some pajamas and a change of clothes there so it wasn’t unusual.
As you showered, he looked on your phone that was charging on the desk.
He unlocked it with ease and looked through some messages.
Some friends had been texting you during they day. He hated that your attention wasn’t entirely on him. And he hated these friends.
Looking through the messages, he could see some where your friend was telling you to watch out for him. That something wasn’t right.
He hated that. This girl says it a lot in these messages.
Then who’s this? A boy??
There was a boy texting you! It was from a few days ago but still! Felix seemed to completely disregard that the contact is under family and that this is your cousin.
Maybe he wasn’t loving you hard enough. He needs to prove your friends wrong. To make sure you text no boys!
Instantly he deleted your cousin’s contact and the messages. He then deleted your friend’s contact as well and put your phone back down before you came out of the bathroom.
“Noona… do you love me?”
“What?” You asked with an awkward laugh. “Of course I do… why would you—?”
“Because I love you!” He interrupted. “I love you a lot!”
“I know.” You giggled while getting in bed.
Felix got in next to you and hugged you tight. He loves spooning you.
As you drifted off to sleep he got close to your ear and held on even tighter.
“Noona… I don’t like when you talk to (c/n)…”
His deep voice startled you. And what was he talking about?
“Baby… that’s my cousin…?” You replied, not turning around.
“I don’t like you talking to boys…”
He let go and you rolled onto your back as he propped himself over you.
“I’m just messing with you, noona.” He said with a smile. But it wasn’t the loving type of smile. It was one full of snarkiness. “I love you~”
You awkwardly chuckled while turning back to your side. Why was he so worried about your cousin? Why was he all of the sudden so serious. It was weird.
Felix held you and sighed. He almost let himself slip. Jealousy almost took over. Maybe he’s not loving you hard enough. But he can’t be mad at you. He would never punish his princess. He must punish the ones manipulating you. Like your friend. He hated her. She deserves to be punished.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐟: 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐬 & 𝐀𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧?
The King and Queen of Westeros had 13 children altogether. Not all lived, well in the end ... none of them did except Vaegon and Saera. Jaehaerys ended up being the last person in his family to die. But what would have happened if everyone were given a dragon egg at birth or got the chance to bond with one? . ˚˖𓍢ִ໋₊˚ 🪷 ₊˚⋆.˚ 𖣂🌷⋆.˚
I'm only going to do this for those who lived into childhood. I'm also not using dragons from the future. I will create new dragons or use existing ones from this time. Also, I'm not going to mention those who already have a dragon... ⋆.°🦋༘⋆
We all know Jaehaerys had Vermithor, Alyssane with Silverwing, Aemon was bonded with Caraxes, Balerion with Vhagar and Alyssa with Meleys. This will not be changed.
𝑫𝒂𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒔
Second born child, their first girl. Named "the Darling of the Realm," she was curious, fearless, high-spirited and very adventurous. She was often covered in mud and grass-stained. She died young due to a fever. It killed many, many people; both young and old.
𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲:
Daenerys would have a cradle egg. Placed in there by her Aunt Rhaena. Her parents weren't too happy about it, but Rhaena reminded them that she did it for them both when they were babies.
The little princess named her 'Goldwing,' after ... well the dragons' golden colouring. The first time Dany hopped on her dragon's back was when she was ten. The two didn't go far, but they both loved it.
She's a she-dragon because she's laid a few clutches but only one hatched. One out of ten.
I think that there's a possibility that bonding with a dragon could have made her stronger. And the sickness might have caused other problems, but she wouldn't have died.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑮𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈:
⋆ INFP ⋆ Gryffindor ⋆ Aquarius Sun, Pisces Moon, Leo Rising
You can tell when Goldwing likes something; she makes these chirping noises and flaps her wings like a lil biridie
As soon as Goldwing hatched, she never left little Dany's side. At night she curled around her head, falling asleep with ease
Through the day the Gold dragon wraps itself around the princesses shoulders. Almost like a necklace when the dragon was younger
As they grew together, Dany preferred to be in the air rather than anywhere else.
It was almost like the pair could read each other's minds
Sneezes on people she doesn't like

𝑴𝒂𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆
Sixth born child, third daughter. In my opinion, I think she was given to the Septas to keep the peace. But it took away her ... life. Maegelle had a compassionate heart; she was gentle, caring, quiet and highly intelligent. She had a real gift for healing.
Whenever her parents fought, it was most likely Maegelle who would be the peace-maker. The one to help them see reason.
𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲:
Maegelle bonded with Balerion.
It was a shock to everyone. Someone so kind-hearted bonded with a giant called 'the Black Dread.' A conquorer's dragon.
But people tend to forget that his first rider was Daenys the Dreamer. She wasn't violent - she could dragon dream and ended up saving House Targaryen.
With this new power, Maegelle realised she wasn't under anyone's foot. She could make her own decisions, and they would be backed up by Balerion...who breathed fire. And so, Maegelle did not want to become a Septa. She didn't want it. Even though she was promised to them by her parents.
But Balerion put a stop to it. Maegelle did not run away, she only brought Balerion to the Red Keep and reminded her parents that she was her own person now.
Balerion isn't what people normally think. He isn't a raging beast. Balerion doesn't thirst for blood. He does as his rider says. And with Maegelle, he has peace.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒏:
⋆ ENTJ ⋆ Slytherin ⋆ Aries Sun, Capricorn Moon, Scorpio Rising
Loves sleeping in the sun
Way too big for the dragon pit, but Maegelle wouldn't force him in there anywhere
Maegelle's confidence grew exceptionally when she bonded with Balerion. She no longer felt meek nor mild.
The princess didn't hide her opinions anymore either. As she had the most legendary dragon; she would never say it out loud, but she felt invincible.
𝑽𝒂𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒏
Seventh born child, fourth son. Named, "Vaegon the Dragonless," he preferred the library and to read above anything else. Some say he's sour, though he never meant to be rude. He performed his duties but no more than he had to. He became an Archmaester and as such he held the ring, rod, and mask of yellow gold.
𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲:
Vaegon would be given countless chances to bond with a dragon. No interest in it. Eventually, one of the other dragons would lay a clutch of eggs and while studying, there'd be a pull. He went to see the lone dragon of Goldwing, his older sister's dragon.
He never got to see his dragon's egg. But looking at the youngling, Vaegon knew it was gorgeous. The look it gave him was unlike any other.
Vaegon decided on the name Tembyra (high valyrian for 'book'). He was about 17 when he first mounted his dragon. Green Tembrya was about 22 at the time, large enough to go far distances.
The joy Vaegon felt...
He understood.
Vaegon finally understood his Valyrian blood. So, his favourite things were reading, writing, studying, learning and flying.
Tembyra has a unique flame. Almost looks like a rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green. There hasn't been reports of dragons having a continuous colouring that blumes in the same succession as Tembyra.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑻𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒚𝒓𝒂:
⋆ ISFP ⋆ Slytherin ⋆ Cancer Sun, Aquarius Moon, Pisces Rising
Has a temper, and doesn't like many people.
Favourite being besides Vaegon is Goldwing and Gael.
Likes to swim; well likes water overall. Whenever there's an open body of water, it takes everything in Tem not to nose-dive when Vaegon is on his back.
Likes to listen to Vaegon read
Doesn't like the dragonpit; feels too lonely. Just because someone likes to be alone, doesn't mean they don't get lonely.
His roar is a mix of Caraxes and Syrax's. It's unique and off-putting.
His mate is Gael's Sonessa. They coil their tails around one another when sleeping.

𝑫𝒂𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂
Eighth born child, fourth daughter. There was a childish aspect about Daella; her physical appearance aided to that as well as she was only 5'2 as an adult. Timid, sweet, kind, and gentle, with a tender heart. Yet, she was also a delicate and shy, tongue-tied girl, who was easily frightened and quick to cry. Known "to be terrified of dragons," she went and married Lord Rodrik Arryn, had one daughter: Aemma (Rhaenyra's mother) and died in childbirth.
𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲:
Daella would have a cradle egg (if she had to go up and bond with a dragon then she would be terrified.) But when she was born, Alyssa put an egg in her crib. The colours: white and blue. When it hatched, Daella was 3 months old.
She named her dragon 'Adema' (high valyrian for fulfilment). A resplendent dragon with light blue scales, white accents and light purple eyes. Adema is a she-dragon as she has laid a few clutches of eggs.
The first time Daella mounted her dragon, she was 12. Adema was a more kinder dragon than the rest. But no less protective of her rider. Possible even moreso since they share energy with one another.
With her dragon, Daella became more courageous. Still kind and gentle, Daella grew into a woman with a large shadow; one she knew would have her back.
She would still marry Rodrik Arryn, but not so early in her life. And maybe she wouldn't have died after giving birth.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑨𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒂:
⋆ ESFJ ⋆ Ravenclaw ⋆ Taurus Sun, Libra Moon, Aquiarius Rising
Daella takes Aemma up on Adema when she's old enough to walk. The little girl squeaks and giggles as they gently fly around their home.
Adema knows how to be gentle, she's been like that with Aemma ever since she was born. When Daella was pregnant with little Aemma, Adema was overprotective of Daella - even more than she usually is.
What was so special about this three-way bond, was that Aemma would also get a cradle egg (my headcanon) from Adema's clutch.

𝑺𝒂𝒆𝒓𝒂
Ninth born child, fifth daughter. Saera was a courageous and clever, girl, in her own way as clever as her brother Vaegon. She was just as strong, quick and spirited as her sister Alyssa. The Princess was tempestuous, demanding, and disobedient. Her first word was "no." A mischief-maker, when her father found out about her lovers, Saera declared she would be married, but that she could not decide which one of the three would be the best choice. When she suggested marrying all three of them, she compared herself to Aegon the Conqueror and Maegor the Cruel.
𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲:
Her actions and decisions with men would be wiped clean when she had a dragon. Jaehaerys would definitely think Saera would get her dragon involved if she didn't get her way. And if she was to be sent away, her dragon is coming with her!
Saera would bond with a dragon easily. With her courageous spirit, she'd actually be a good ... candidate. Given a cradle egg that never hatched, she was completely torn to bits.
But a clutch that her Aunt Rhaena had hidden on Dragonstone, had hatched years ago and four adult dragons were living in the caverns of the castle.
When Saera had visited Dragonstone in her early teens, she went to the caverns and found something glorious.
Not letting the chance go by, she stalked straight to the one she wanted. And she mounted the she-dragon that very night.
Valoris (means "to be brave"). She's a stunning dragon with magenta flames, intense pink eyes, black accents; her body is half pink/magenta and black.
Her body type is quite birdlike, which hasn't been seen since the days of Valyria. With two large protruding horns and almost like smaller wings around her neck, she is quite the opponent in a battle.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒔:
⋆ ENFJ ⋆ Slytherin ⋆ Aries Sun, Sagittarius Moon, Taurus Rising
Valoris, is just like her owner. In everyway.
Very fertile... she has laid many clutches but only 50% end up with hatchlings
Saera absolutely SPOILS Valoris; food, cute decor for the saddle, and absolutely NO WAY is she staying in the dragonpit. Special quarters would be made for the beautiful yet intimidating dragon.
Likes to be brushed and washed every day. Not very dragonlike.
Would rather be flying than sleeping. But is easily pissed off and will react. Not like Saera cares...
𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂
Tenth born child, sixth daughter. Viserra was the most beautiful out of the daughters and she knew it. Viserra was a wild, high-spirited girl. It was said she wanted to become THE queen, so she tried to seduce Baelon who was 14 years older than her. One night, she slipped past Baelon's guards and climbed naked into his bed, but Baelon sent the drunk girl away when he arrived. After the incident, she was to be sent away to White Harbour to be married to an old man who had four wives; one after the other. And many say the death of his wives were mysterious... So Viserra slipped passed the guards, met up with her friends and had one last night of freedom. At the foot of Aegon's High Hill, Viserra's horse collided with the mare of one of her companions. Viserra was thrown from her saddle into a wall, and she died of a broken neck at the age of fifteen.
𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲:
A cradle egg, placed there by Saera, who adored her new little sister. It wasn't one of her dragon's eggs though. It was Daella's. Her dragon was highly fertile.
Viserra named her dragon: Demalys (high valyrian for throne) aka whenever she mounts her dragon, she's sitting on her throne. The closest she will ever get to a real one.
As he grew, Demalys became more and more colourful; his violet scales shimmered in the sunlight. His fire was a rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink. Beautiful. Deadly but still stunning to behold.
Viserra was 14 when she mounted her dragon. He was twice her height, and ready to fly with his bonded. The two of them were highly adventurous; they sought out places that were never seen before. Found treasures and the like.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑫𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒔:
⋆ ENTP ⋆ Slytherin ⋆ Leo Sun, Gemini Moon, Virgo Rising
Loves to be shown off. Knows he is stunning.
Viserra got a blacksmith to create a pure golden star to be settled just below Demalys' neck.
He does sleep in the dragonpit. Doesn't mind it. But he has to be taken out everyday for many hours.
...Flirts with the other dragons.
Has golden eyes with green rims around the middle.
His roar is very similar to Meleys'.
Doesn't like being told what to do ... will ignore most people and has his favourites
𝑮𝒂𝒆𝒍
The thirteenth and last child, shy and sweet; she was a comfort to her mother who had lost practically all of her children. Dubbed, "The Winter Child," she was coddled - Gael became Alysanne's constant shadow, and even slept with her in her bed. When Gael was around ninteen, she disappeared from court. It was announced that she had died from a summer fever. After the deaths of Jaehaerys and Alysanne, it was revealed that Gael had been seduced and impregnated by a travelling singer. She gave birth to a stillborn son, and her grief was so overwhelming that she walked into Blackwater Bay and drowned.
𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲:
Even though she's the youngest, she would still have a dragon. She didn't receive one in the cradle as a baby - there weren't any eggs. But when Daella's Adema had a clutch of living dragons, she wanted her little sister to have one.
Gael received the egg when she was 10, and slept with it every night. Daella had chosen a specific one that reflected Gael's persona - a perfect one. Like pure Winter. That's why Daella gave it to Gael in the first place. Even though it was against what both Jaeherys and Alysanne wanted - their last child to become a dragonrider. Completely dangerous and yet, Gael; frail and timid, decided that she wanted a dragon. The rest of her siblings were dragonriders; it was in her blood.
Gael named her dragon, Sonessa, (high valyrian for snow). Her personality is similar to Gael but has more passion about life. Socialising may not be her thing, but she'll endure it to help Gael. Everything she does is for Gael.
Sonessa somehow feels like this is her hatchling and she has to protect Gael at all costs.
You could say she's a motherly dragon. More like a mother hen.
Sonessa's flame is a very light/pale blue with swirls of white. It makes her seem an enigma. A dragon, who is suppose to be hot, with red flame, a beast quick to anger and to retaliate...is a thing that Sonessa is not. She is white, with almost frost looking flame, yes she is still a beast who will retaliate if needs be. But for the most part - she is a protector, a guardian.
𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑺𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂:
⋆ ISFJ ⋆ Hufflepuff/Gryffindor ⋆ Libra Sun, Aries Moon, Cancer Rising
Very good around others. She and Silverwing are good friends.
Loves going on royal processions, but she knows Gael is fragile, and most times a little frail.
Sonessa loves showing Gael different parts of Westeros - the water, high in the air, across deserts and the like.
But Sonessa is like a responsible older sister. Not just to Gael, but to the dragons in the dragonpit. She'll intervene when there's a fight, or curl up beside a sad dragon.
She's had many clutches of eggs with Vaegon's Tembyra

(Daella's dragon is so fertile because her granddaughter, Rhaenyra would usher in a great deal of new dragons. Aemma wouldn't have been so infertile if she hadn't had intercourse so young.)

Rhaenys Targaryen Fluff Alphabet
A = Affection (Are they physically affectionate in public or just in private?)
It depends on the company. Around trusted individuals, she’s happy to be free and open with her affection for you, but she’s careful around those who may use it against her.
B = Babe (What would they use as pet names? Do they use them a lot?)
Pet names aren’t used a lot with her, aside from the standard ones. But if she stumbles across one that makes you particularly flustered, she will use it more often.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
She definitely doesn’t mind a cuddle. She won’t be quick to admit if/when she needs one, but she won’t refuse if you were to offer.
D = Domestic (What’s it like living with them? Do they do their share of chores?)
With Rhaenys you’ll want for nothing. You help each other dress in the morning, and have anything you want when you want it.
E = Easy (What is the easiest way to win their heart?)
Win over her dragon, and pledge your loyalty to her and she’s in. If you can bond with the creature most precious to her, then there must be something worthy in you.
F = Fun (Where do they take you for fun? Are they flirty?)
She’ll take you for a ride on Meleys, anyplace you want to go in all of Westeros. She’s very flirty when it’s just the two of you. She likes to tease you and make you blush.
G = Gifts (Are they a gift giver? What kind of gifts do they give?)
She can be. It’s not a big habit of hers, but her gifts are always precious and you know they come from the heart.
H = History (What’s their relationship history like? Do they have any plans on settling down?)
There’s Corlys of course, but a princess is allowed her dalliances. If the right person comes along that she wants in her life, she’ll find a way to make it all work.
I = I Love You (Who says I love you first?)
Probably you. She’ll want to keep those words close to her chest until she’s sure of your own feelings for her.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
She can definitely get jealous. Usually it will only be a passing feeling, but if there’s any merit to her jealousy, expect someone to be flayed by dragon’s breath.
K = Kids (How are they around children? Would they want some of their own?)
Rhaenys is a wonderful mother. As for wanting to raise any more kids at this stage in her life, unlikely.
L = Love Language (How do they show their love to you?)
She shows her love by acts of service. Anything you need done that you put off, she finds a way of getting done for you or with you to make your life just a little easier.
M = Meet (How did they meet you?)
Rhaenys met you in the city’s market. She saw the way you paid the merchants just a bit extra for their wares than they were asking, and that small kindness touched her, which led her to introduce herself to you.
N = Nurture (Are they good at taking care of you if you’re hurt/sick?)
She is, yes. She’ll watch over you even to her own detriment of losing sleep and she’ll see that whatever you need be brought to you.
O = Options (What are some things they would like in a partner?)
Loyal, kind and strong are Rhaenys’s top three qualities in a partner.
P = Protective (How protective are they? How would they protect you?)
She’s very protective. She’s lost too much not to be. She’ll risk whatever it takes to keep someone she loves safe.
Q = Quirk (What small habit/feature/quirk do they have that you find especially endearing?)
The way Rhaenys rests her forehead against her dragon is always a marvelous sight for you to see. There’s so much trust and love there that you can’t help but feel it too.
R = Realization (When and what makes them realize they’re in love?)
When she starts to defend you to people who speak ill of you, that’s when she realizes that you’ve become important to her and that she’s falling in love.
S = Sentimental (Are they the sentimental type? What things hold sentimentality for them?)
She’s not overly sentimental, but there are a few things that she keeps close to her heart, usually reminders of a significant moment with each person she’s loved in some way.
T = Try (In what ways do they support or help you?)
In any way she’s able. No favor you ask of her is too big or too small. If you need her help, she’s willing to provide it.
U = Unique (What’s something they’d only do for you?)
Show her sillier side. She has one, but it’s buried deep down, as she’s always been taught it should be. But with you she opens it up and gets to really be herself.
V = Vacation (Where would they take you on vacation? What would you do?)
Again, she’ll take you anywhere for as long as possible, preferably somewhere with a beautiful shoreline. Despite her responsibilities, she’d want to stay away with you forever.
W = Wardrobe (What would they wear to impress you?)
Light blue and gold are the colors she’s always looked most captivating in, so anything in those colors would be suitably impressive.
X = XOXO (How do they kiss?)
There’s no one way that Rhaenys kisses you. They can range from tender to passionate, though each type is just as enjoyable as the next.
Y = Yes (How do you/they propose?)
She asks you with a ring crafted of shed dragon scale. She makes sure that you won’t be interrupted and asks you to remain a part of her life for as long as you or she should live.
Z = Zzz (What are their sleep habits?)
Her sleep is usually quite restful. She doesn’t toss and turn or stir much in the night, but she does rest easier when she knows someone is by her side.

Not proofread don't act surprised you knew it was coming
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had taken a while for you to finally accept the fact that Johnny, the man you were documenting constantly, had a crush on you. His consistent naggings of dates and expensive gifts all for you were more than enough to get your heart racing, it just never felt right to go out with him.
You'd gone out with other men before, you'd kissed other men, but everything felt different with him. He was more compassionate despite his status, and he truly cares about you, but it was wrong. All of it was wrong.
There were women who were begging for Johnny to even look at them, yet he only had eyes for you. He would consistently give you raises and promote you to his manager after a good while, but you remained a reporter. Even after expressing nothing but love to you, you didn't let him have you easily.
Once you came to terms with the fact that THE Johnny Cage was in love with you, you decided to play hard to get. He could get anybody he ever wanted, and he wanted you. You weren't going to make this easy on him, especially if he was that down bad for you.
Well apparently, he was more than just down bad. He was down horrendous, to the point he asked you multiple times to move in with him. "C'mon!! We'll be like roomies! It'll be soooo fun!" But you insisted on not doing that, for obvious reasons.
He'd been pinning on you for more than a while now, and you had really been testing his patience the entire time. From consistently turning down dates and invitations to huge house parties, to wearing small skirts to interviews with him.
You haven't tried making your attraction to him, especially as if late. You started staying at his house more for work related things, crashing on his couch in the early hours of the morning. Whenever you'd come over, you would wear small tight skirts and open blouses, both things you knew he loved.
One night, Johnny decided he'd treat you to something. He'd just gotten back from a trip to Italy and brought back a bottle of wine, and it just so happened to be one of your favorites. He poured you both a small glass, you both took a sip of it before placing it down on the table next to you.
You'd been sitting on his couch for a while, going over work materials for an up and coming interview. He'd decided to sit down with you and have a small conversation, but it was obvious too him that work was more important for right now.
"'Your newest movies are doing awesome, Johnny! We're making lots in the box office, how do you feel about your up and coming role?' There, does that sound believable?" You asked as you skim over your notes again.
"Add a little more flare. Get the audience going a little more, and at least try and act like you want to be there." Johnny and you both left out a small laugh as you continue with your work. You could feel his eyes on you, like they were watching every small move you made. In a way, they were. Johnny loved to observe every part of you, the way you hold your notebook, the way you write, the way you knit your eyebrows together as you're focused on writing, it was all perfect to him.
"You know," he started, getting your attention as you looked up. "It's still pretty early in the evening, why don't I take you out for dinner? You've been working really hard lately, and I can get us registrations at the top restaurants in the city, no problem. You down?"
Not this again. You internally sigh before finally answering. "Cage, you know I don't want to go out with you." Liar. "You can have any girl ever, I promise there's better out there." Now you're self pitying? You suck.
"There's not a single other person I'd rather be with. Not a single other person has made me feel the way you do, you know this, you just like this little cat and mouse game we play." Busted. Your eyes widened as he continued, "I've been watching your reactions, your body language, even the way you dress. Youre playing hard to get, yet your body and heart knows what it wants."
"You're a busy guy. You need those precious hours of sleep that id be taking away."
"I'd be more than happy to lose those hours if it meant I could be with you."
That was it. That froze you. Oh God, were your true colors actually showing through? Was your attraction to your boss coming to light? Oh God, this can't be happening, why are you feeling things You've never felt before?? What's this feeling in your stomach? Why is your body temperature rising?
"C'mon princess, let me treat you right, just for tonight. If you don't like it, no more. If you do, you know I'll give it to you anytime you want." He gave you a small smirk and got up from the couch, holding his hand out for you to take.
You glanced at his open hand, then him, then to the floor. You weren't experienced much in relationships, let alone sex. How could you ever pleasure him if you couldn't even pleasure yourself? Oh well, nows a good time to get cocky for the last time of the night. "I thought you wanted to take me out for dinner. What happened to being a gentleman?"
"I'll show you just how much of a gentleman I can be. As for dinner, I'm hungry for something else. No pressure princess, remember that." He gives you a reassuring smile before holding out his hand again.
Going over your options one last time, if you were going to be honest with yourself, you wanted him. Badly. And he knew that. "Ah, what the hell?" You say, getting yo and grabbing his hand. He smiles and places a gentle kiss on the back of your hand before leading you to his bedroom.
It's huge, obviously, but it has a huge bed too. Full of the highest grade blankets you could only dream of being able to afford. "Make yourself at home princess, what's mine is yours now. I mean it." He says as he pulls you in for a small kiss. It was passionate and soft, but short enough for you to want more.
"Do you want me to get undressed first? May alleviate some anxiety. I'm willing to do whatever you want, anything to make you comfortable."
You blush as you look away from him. You genuinely couldn't believe this was actually happening, something that youve wanted so badly that, in retrospect, you could've gotten so much earlier if you wouldn't have been so hard to get, was actually happening.
"Hey, princess, if you don't want to do this we don't have to." He was purposely making this obvious in an attempt to comfort you. Of course you wanted this, more than anything, but you just didn't know how to initiate.
Johnny knew you weren't experienced in the department, you've told him about how you've just never been interested in it. However, you've told him that you were attracted to him multiple times, playing this game with him just to see which one of you would break first. With this, he knew you liked him in that sense.
He could tell by the fact that you were avoiding eye contact that you were nervous. He took your hands in his, rubbing small circles on the back before kissing each hand. "Let me show you how good I can make you feel, please." Before he continued, he got down on one knee, looking up at you, your hands still in his. "You can back out at any time. I promise you'll feel amazing."
You let out a playful sigh, "Fine. But, we need a safe word, just in case."
"Jupiter."
"I was gonna say pineapple, but that works, too." Johnny laughs at your response before standing up. He kissed you on the forehead before leading you to his bed.
He guided you to sit as he crouched down, locking you in another kiss. He nipped slightly at your lower lip before letting his tongue inside your mouth. He was exploring your mouth entirely, getting more turned on by your soft whimpers by the minute. He slowly took off your skirt as he played with the hem of your panties.
Once he finally slid the fabric off, he discarded it, along with your skirt. He pulled away from the kiss as a string of saliva followed. He smiled at how pink your cheeks were and your now plump lips.
"Just relax, alright? I've got everything under control." You slowly nod as you lean back on the bed, your dangling legs making their way to rest on Johnny's shoulders. He began by placing soft kisses on the inside of your thighs, groaning at simply just the scent.
"You don't know how long I've been waiting for this." He smiles before he spreads your folds with his two fingers, flattening his tongue and running it through your now exposed pussy.
You moan loudly, your hands tangling themselves in his hair as he continued his movements. He dipped his tongue into your tight hole before moving to your clit. One of his hands left your thigh and moved to settle in front of your face. His fingers spread your lips and he inserted his middle and ring finger into your mouth.
Your tongue swirled around his fingers, coating them in saliva before he took them out of your mouth and slowly inserted one inside of your hole. You groan slightly at the pain before it quickly turns into pleasure. His tongue was flicking your clit around before he placed his entire mouth on it, settling on sucking on it while he curled his finger inside you.
He began to add another finger inside you, kissing your thighs again as you groaned out of pain again. "J-Johnny- it hurts-"
"I know princess, I know. You're doing so good for me, just a little longer, alright?" He looked up at you and you nodded in response. "Such a tight pussy, all for me? You shouldn't have." He laughed again as he began to suck more on your clit, grazing his teeth over the nerve slightly.
Once his second finger was fully inside, he began scissoring them inside you. Your moans of pleasure and the soft tugging on his hair were making him go crazy. He sped up his pace, trying to make you cum as quickly as possible.
His nips at your clit and scissoring fingers inside your pussy were sending you over the edge. Your aching hole would clench down on him are your back began to arch. Johnny became enthralled by the scene unfolding in front of him, your blouse half way unbuttoned as your breasts rose up and down with each breath, you changing his name continuously as thighs began to close around his head, it was perfect to him and he couldn't get enough of it.
He lapped at your pussy like a starved man and began to feel lightheaded over the taste. To him, everything was worth the wait, and he doesn't know how he can live without you after this. When you came, he couldn't be more excited to lick up every drop of your essence you gave to him.
He ok pulled his fingers out of your pussy, sucking on them as his eyes rolled into the back of his head over the taste. Once he finished cleaning his fingers off, he moaned simply at the look of your gaping hole spilling out cum, just for him to clean up.
He held you down by the waist, as he lapped at your juices. He made a mess of himself and you and he couldn't care less. He feels like he can cum right now just by the taste alone, he was genuinely addicted to your now aching heat. Your hands flew to his head, attempting to push him off because of your over overstimulation.
"Johnny- no more- please no more-" you began to cry over how good you felt. The sight of tears falling from your face made Johnny immediately get up, begrudgingly, however. "Wanna feel you inside Johnny.." you look up at him with eyes he simply can't resist, and he just sighs.
"Fine fine, but I get to eat you out again in the morning." You smile and nod as he begins to undress himself. You take this opportunity to take the rest of your clothes off and get on the bed completely. Johnny climbs on the bed completely as he guides your head to lay on one of his many pillows.
He climbs between your thighs as he takes off his boxers, clenching his jaw and moaning slightly at the feeling of it finally being out. Your eyes widened as you look up at him. "Is.. that going to fit?" You say with worry.
Johnny smiles at you, but in reality he's also worried about it. "It may take a bit for you to get used to the size, but I'm more than willing to wait." He leans in and places a small peck on your lips before putting one hand on your waist while the other hand aligned his cock with your hole.
He looked up at you again. "Ready?" Giving him a nod yes, he positions himself to hover on top of you, letting you latch onto him for stability. He slowly lets his cock enter you, one inch at a time.
Moans from both of you fill the room as he finally bottoms out. He smiles and looks at you from below him. "I knew you could do it." You smile back as he continues talking.
"I think maybe you should stay over tonight, when we wake up tomorrow, I'll make breakfast. How's chocolate chip pancakes sound?"
"Sounds great, Johnny." You give him a small and he kisses you again. This time, it's full of lust and love. Your hands move to cup his face and he leans into the touch. The kiss lasts a few minutes before you slowly pull away, looking at him then speaking. "I'm ready."
He kissed you once more and began to move. Your hands move to his back, holding onto him as he slowly thrusts into you. "Faster Johnny." The way you say his name has blood shooting straight to his cock and he picks up his pace.
His thrusts become fast enough for you to be comfortable with. Your fingers raked on his back as small beads of blood formed at your fingernails. He went slightly faster and it became nothing but pure bliss.
"Such a good pussy, god I could do this forever and not get bored." Johnnys grip on your waist tightens as his thrusts become faster than what you can keep up with. "All mine. That's what you are, all mine. I'm gonna fuck you so good all you can think about is me."
You began to claw at his back desperate for a release. Your tongue lolling out of your mouth as all you could do is take what he gave you. The pleasure washing over you was becoming too much to bare and you started clenching on his cock.
"Fuck princess- you want me to cum inside you? I'll do it. I'll breed this pussy day and night as long as you let me." He can feel himself getting close as his thrusts became sloppier.
You nod yes in response and he lets out a loud moan followed by both of your orgasms. He stops his motions as his breath became heavy. "One more round. Please- one more round. I need to feel you. I know you can take it."
You look up at him and smile through tired eyes. You nod again and with that, he was back to his harsh pace. You screamed his name as tears formed at your eyes again. Johnny bent down to kiss them away, increasing his pace as he did.
"God you take me so well. You're the only woman that can make me feel like this, I need you so fucking bad." He collapsed into your neck with another groan as he came again, accidentally overstimulating himself in the process. You both catch your breath as you hug onto him.
He reciprocates this and wraps his arms around your waist, placing playful kisses on your face. You giggle as he does and he can feel his heart completely melt. He stands up and is about to walk to the bathroom to get a cloth before he feels you grip his wrist.
"Stay, please. It can wait till the morning."
He smiles and gets back into bed with you. He places even more kisses over you and you bury your face in his chest, ready to sleep. "Will you finally go out for dinner with me?"
"I'll think about it."
Can I request a Platonic Yandere Batfamily x female reader. I wanted to to read some thing because it was my birthday 5 days ago.
Batfamily is known for being manipulative and sneaky. Y/N an adult (18)living in Gotham,and have lived there since child hood. Your life is good well and even became a professional figure skater,until you meet them.
Summary: Reader is a professional figure skater. The batfamily goes to the skating rink to see one of Bruce's friend practice skating,that's until they first meet reader. The batfamily and reader are introduced by Bruce's friend. Ever since then they couldn't get reader out of their heads,they even went as far as stalking and kidnapping reader and bringing them back to the mansion.
Happy belated birthday!! Ive never written yandere...or the whole batfam x y/n so I'm sorry if this doesn't meet your expectations.
warning- yandere , stalking, pain, torture, just plain old yandere stuff okay? manipulation mind games , cold, hunger
there is mention of cas, steph, duke..idk them that well yet
Yandere Batfam x reader (PLATONIC ONLY)
Woosh , there you go, as graceful as a swan . A warm beauty on a sheet of white. In this cold cold city , you were like a ray of sun, the pride of this city. Ever since Bruce had brought you home for a private dinner to further discuss his generous funding to the sports facilities in public schools where you volunteered to teach underprivileged kids for free, the family hadn’t been able to pull their eyes away from you.
On the rink and outside it. Be it your home, your training centre or you grocery shopping. You were used to eyes on you. After all you were the star of the city! And in a city that only ever produces cynical, evil and cruelty …maybe it was foolish to assume you would shine so bright forever.
It was Dick who suggested bringing you in. He found tim’s cameras that were strategically placed..well everywhere, and then Damian’s stash of drawings of an ice princess that strikingly resembled you and finally when Jason beat up the reporter that criticized your latest performance.
Bruce regretted not making sure to hide you better, but after the cards life had dealt his family, they all deserved to have this one good thing in their life. After everything they have given this city, this world, why cant they have just this one gift as repayment.
After all, its not like they want to hurt you right? At least not until you misbehave that is. They want to protect you. This city turns the brightest star the dust, good people cant survive here. It was best they take you before you hardened or broke. But even as they patiently explained all that to you, you refused to cooperate . So stubborn, so strong, on and off the ice. No wonder the family was so drawn to you!
Even as they brought you an entire ice rink to put shows that you missed so much, you continued to complain. Well maybe a couple days without food would help? Don’t worry Tim got soft and brought you your favorite snacks. Hm..still not cooperating. Maybe a couple days sleeping on the ice will help, you do love spending all your time there. Don’t worry, Jason came to cuddle you.
When Alfred was not allowed to interact with you, that’s when you finally broke. With no one else to give you company, the lonliness got to you. Suddenly the Cheery sunshiney dick Grayson seemed much more funny and lovely to be around. And Bruce acted like the father you never had.
All these years you trained so hard for attention you never got as a kid, and now you had it ! at least that’s what tim told you..and why would he lie? He always looked out for you, helped clean your wounds when you were punished. And Jason! Why would he want to hurt you ? after everything that has happened to him, would he really hurt someone else? Someone as nice as dick could never be cruel and Damian? You mean your little baby? The kid who called you Ummi and drew you pretty paintings? No you must have lost your mind. This was your true family and its good you finally realized that!
( I COULD FINALLY PUT IN ALL MY TAGS MUAHAHAHHA)
Imagine Shuri becoming jealous and protective when someone approaches you in a club
Everyone assumed after Shuri and Namor were able to see past their need for vengeance and form an alliance. Things would go back to normal for Wakanda, and in a way, they did. The civilians were able to return to the city and got to work on rebuilding on what was destroyed. Businesses were open again, families were able to properly mourn those lost in the conflict, and M'Baku took over the throne to give Shuri some much needed time to heal. The only enemies Wakanda had to ward off were the other countries who were still hell-bent on getting some vibramium for themselves.
The only difference now was that the Black Panther had officially returned and with the announcement made worldwide. Some of the countries were now a bit more wary about attacking the Outreach centers. Especially after Shuri made a statement threatening to close them all down. If the attacks didn't cease immediately, she had been through too much in the past couple of days to have patience for them anymore. So yes, in a way, things were back to normal with everyone going through the healing process.
But that still didn't stop the Princess from throwing herself back into her work. The second she returned from her trip to Haiti, and while she seemed to be in a better headspace. None of those closest to her thought it was healthy for her to be in the lab to the break of dawn. Unfortunately, the only person available who could probably stand a chance in pulling her away from her numerous projects was also throwing themselves into their duty.
You were no better than Shuri, and sometimes people truly wondered. How the two of you were able to maintain a healthy relationship considering you rarely spent any time together these days. You were one of Wakanda's finest warriors, and although you weren't a member of any Wakanda army. All of the soldiers respected you and fought along side of you when it was needed. You had accompanied Shuri on her trip to Haiti, so whenever someone brought it up to you. That you and Shuri didn't have enough time for each other. You just shrugged at their concern and pointed out the two of you had just returned from a two-month vacation.
And the excuse would've worked if it hadn't been three months since that vacation. You spent most of your morning doing combat lessons for the new trainees, and afterward, doing some training on your own. Wakanda's army was severely depleted after the war with Talokan, and it would take a lot to restore its strength. Shuri spent the first half of the morning in bed catching up on sleep before returning to the lab. Her main concern was building more Midnight Angel suits even though Okoye insisted. The project could wait because, for now, Wakanda was not in need of a new military division. You would stop by the lab for an hour or so every day to have lunch with her, but as far as they could tell, that was the only real interaction between you two.
Everyone was growing tired of watching both of you work yourselves to death, and was determined to make you and Shuri take a break. Aneka was the one who came up with the master plan and tasked Okoye with removing Shuri from the lab. Her and Ayo were in charge of pulling you out of the training room. Even though Shuri was the stronger one with the strength of the Black Panther. There was no doubt in Aneka's heart that the Princess wouldn't hold back in order to not hurt Okoye. But you, on the other hand, would have no problem putting Aneka on her back or anyone else for that matter.
They found you in one of the many training rooms of the palace practicing with a pair of twin swords. Shuri had actually gifted you the weapons upon the return from Haiti. The previous ones you wielded were destroyed in a fight between you and Namor. You were torn up about them since the weapons were family heirlooms passed down from generation to generation. But the new ones were starting to grow on you more and more every day. They were stronger and had a built-in energy force field.
"Hey y/n, do you mind putting the swords down for a quick second?" Aneka asked, capturing your attention.
You paused mid swing, ready to decapitate a dummy's head at the sound of her voice. You turned to see her and Ayo standing on either side of you just a few feet away. "What's up? Are you guys looking for a quick sparring match."
"Not exactly," Ayo answered.
You zeroed in the way both of their bodies were slightly bent at the knees. Both of them could pounce on you at a moment's notice, and then it was the way they kept exchanging nervous glances. What were they up to? You decided whatever it was, it wasn't worth hurting them over, at least not seriously anyway. So you walked over to where your bag was located and placed the swords on top of them. The next thing you knew, both of them had seized by the arms and started dragging you out of the training room.
Aneka had your right arm while Ayo had the left, and they both a your arms pulled back into a hold. It wasn't painful, but it made it impossible for you to pull away as you struggled. "What the hell?" You hissed through clenched teeth.
"You and Shuri have been spending way too much time working. Both of you need a break okay its time to let loose and have fun, " Aneka explained.
"Are you serious our arm-"
Ayo tugged on your wrist, causing you to pause in whatever you were getting ready to say. "Our armies are still recovering, yes, but thanks to you. They are on the right path, and you deserve to have some fun. This isn't up for discussion. You and Shuri are going out tonight."
"Oh yeah, I would love to see someone get Shuri out of the lab." You scoffed at the idea.
Five minutes later and you were eating your words as you found Shuri in your shared room going through the closet. Okoye had been positioned outside the door with her arms crossed a smug expression on her face.
"Okoye took a prototype for a new weapon I was working on. It was almost complete and the only one I had. She threatened to smash it to pieces with her spear if I didn't cooperate, " Shuri said. Before you could even ask, "How would that work? Is it not made out of vibranium as well?" You questioned.
"No, it is, but I don't doubt she will find a way to accomplish it, and that's a risk I won't take. It's only one night sthandwa we could really use it, I guess."
You let out a deep sigh of defeat knowing she was right. Plus none of your friends were giving either of you a choice. But by the end of the night they would wish they had.
The girls took you and Shuri out to one of the many clubs in the city. You knew Wakanda had an active nightlife but never cared to take part in it yourself. It wasn't exactly your scene, but there was one thing you loved to do. Before you dedicated your life to becoming the best warrior you could be.
Dancing.
So, while you didn't care for the drinking or the rowdy crowd. Once the beat of the music got a hold of your heart, your body started moving along to the rhythm. You completely forgot about the need to rebuild the armies and future threats. All of your worries were washed away by the hypnotizing music. Aneka joined you on the dance floor while Shuri hung back, watching the two of you dance. She sat back in a nice and comfy velvet sofa with Okoye and Ayo by her side with a red rope surrounding the area. Of course, the club had a VIP section for the royal family. Every establishment in the city did.
Shuri threw another shot back as her eyes stayed glued to the way your body was moving. It wasn't just romantic time the two of you had been neglecting. It had been a while since the two of you had taken part in any act of physical intimacy as well. She missed the feel of her hands running down your body, pulling you closer to her as you moaned her name, and writhed under her in absolute pleasure.
Okoye could see the lust forming in her eyes and let out a chuckle at the sight. "Are you going to continue to undress her with your eyes, Princess, or do you plan to join her on the dance floor?"
Ayo smirked and nodded her head in agreement. "You're supposed to be enjoying yourself as well, Shuri."
"Oh, I am enjoying myself plenty right here. The view is perfect," Shuri said. Her voice was a bit hazy.
You could feel her eyes on you and knew what your dancing was doing to her. It was an added bonus, and while you had no problem with her throwing you over her shoulder and waltzing out of this club to the car. And doing whatever she was thinking about to you right in that vehicle. You wanted to spend just a little more time dancing right now. Aneka had stepped away to get drinks for both of you, and that was when it happened. A pair of strong hands settled on your waist, and a stranger pressed their body up against yours from behind. You feel someone breathing heavily on your neck. "Now, what is a pretty thing like you do all alone? The voice belongs to an unfamiliar man.
You could have easily broken free of his hold and pushed him away, but you wanted to have a little fun first. Jealous and overprotective Shuri was your favorite. "I'm actually spoken for honey," you told him, turning around to face him.
The man was dark-skinned and pretty tall, not completely towering over you, though. He had a nice face with a well-defined jawline, and you could see women dying to have his attention. It made you wonder why he was here trying to dance with you. Did he not have other choices, or was he just a walking red flag?
"Mmmm, well, tell me baby, what kind of man would be stupid enough to leave you alone?"
Even though the club was pretty light, the strobing lights spinning all over the dance floor lit up your face pretty well. Either this guy didn't keep up with the royal news, or he was just plain stupid. Everyone in Wakanda knew you were with Shuri exclusively, and you figured he would recognize you. Once he got a good look at your face but you could tell. He had no idea who you really were as his eyes bore into yours.
"Well, she actually isn't that far away. I'm always in her line of sight. So, if you were smart, you would just walk away right now. I really don't want to see such a pretty face get smashed in, " you warned him.
Back in the VIP section, both Okoye and Ayo attempted to jump to their feet. Shuri placed a firm hand on both of their thighs, keeping them seated. "Let her be for now," she said through gritted teeth.
"But Princess," Okoye protested.
Shuri only tightened her grip on her thigh as she listened carefully to the exchange between you and the man.
"So you really do need a real man in your life now, I see. It's a good thing I came along now, isn't it? " the man said. Not heeding your warning at all
You frowned at his reply and placed both of your hands on his chest to give him a hard shove. "Alright, buddy, this conservation is over. Keep it moving." He was definitely a walking red flag.
But the man came back, wrapping a strong arm around your waist to pull you to his chest. "Hey, I'm not done with you alright you should be nicer to me. I mean, come on, don't you want to make your parents proud and get married to someone worthy."
You saw a quick flash of anger in his eyes under the red passing lights. You glanced over his shoulder to see Shuri getting up from the sofa. She had reached her breaking point it was all fun and games until he came back. After you pushed him away.
"Alright buddy, I don't think you know who's girl you're messing with, and trust me when I say you don't want to find out the hard way. Just let me go and leave while you still can. " You tried to warn him again.
He shook his head. "I'm not worried about some stupid chick. I can make her mine t-ahhhhh." His words were cut off with a cry of pain as you twisted out of his hold, latched onto his hand, and bent his wrist backward. You brought your knee up into his stomach, making him double over with a groan.
"Don't you dare talk about her" You growled.
Shuri had reached both of you by now and gripped him by the back of his knee. "You don't mind if I take over sthandwa, do you?" she asked with a sickly sweet smile.
"Not at all usana," you replied, releasing his wrist and taking a step back.
She forced him to stand up straight so he could get a look at her face. He was trying to get his breath back but opened his mouth, ready to throw insults.
"Look chick, no offense, but your girl dese-" He paused as his eyes settled on her face, and he realized just exactly who he was talking to. His eyes grew wide with fear as his gaze flickered back and forth between the two of you.
"No, please go on. You were saying," Shuri encouraged him.
"Um, your Highness Princess, I meant no disrespect truly. I'm sorry. I didn't know she was with you, " He said. It wasn't just an apology, but a desperate plea for his life.
"Don't waste your breath usisidenge she whispered into his ear and kicked his legs out from under him. She released her hold on his neck, letting him fly back to the floor.
He landed on his back with a low thud that could barely be heard over the music. He started to groan but had no real time to recover as Shuri loomed over him. She gathered his shirt up in her right hand, lifting his head up from the floor, and delivered a hard left hook to his face. His head snapped to the side so hard you thought his neck had been broken. if she hadn't been holding back, then it would have snapped.
She let the man drop to the floor now unconscious. Her eyes found yours just a few feet away filled with want no need for her touch. Shuri beckoned for you to come to her, which you did right away, letting her take you by the hand.
"Should we um stop them?" Aneka asked, watching as the Princess pulled you in the direction of the exit.
"No, trust me, they're not going anywhere besides the car," Okoye told her.
Aneka didn't pick up on what she was implying right away, but her eyes widened in surprise a few seconds later. "So what now?"
"We continue to enjoy our night out, my love," Ayo said, taking her by the hand. She led her lover back onto the dance floor, looking back at the General. "You to Okoye, let's go."
Outside the club, Shuri had led you back to the car, pushing you up against it. A hand wrapped around your throat, she kissed you roughly on the mouth. You kissed back, placing your hands on her hip. Your mouth moved in sync with hers for the longest time, turning you even more. You let out a moan as you felt her hand drift under your dress and move your panties aside.
In a flash, she had plunged two fingers inside of you, feeling how wet you were for her. "This better be because of me," she whispered in a harsh tone in your ear.
"It is," you promised.
Shuri smirked, pulling her fingers free as you let out a soft whine. "Get in the car now," she ordered, yanking the back door open for you.
You made a mental note to thank all of the girls tomorrow. Or maybe the next day because you were starting to doubt that you would even be able to walk tomorrow. As Shuri climbed into the backseat with you, the lust filling the air.
Good morning
1,047 words | The black prince [WT] (sequel to Duties)
Content | Slavery, fucked up takes on slavery, power imbalance, low-key fantasy racism
Notes | Elgar and Orafin sure live in a society.
When Elgar woke the next morning, there was a flutter in his chest, like tears or laughter just waiting to burst out.
He sat up. The slave who always attended to them in the mornings, bringing them water to wash, laying out fresh clothes for Elgar and personally helping the prince to dress, was already in the room. Elgar felt bad for not remembering his name yet—there simply had been too many names in the last few days.
»Good morning, Sir,« the man said quietly as he put the freshly filled jar down at the washstand.
Elgar didn’t know much Ochurian beyond greetings yet, after these brief days, but he thought he managed a decent »Good morning,« in return.
The other man smiled, gave a little bow—to him, Elgar—and left with a last glance at the prince, who seemed to be sleeping in today.
The princess’s personal slaves, Elgar had learned, had been a wedding gift, brought into her marriage with the Ochurian Crown by the queen. Thirty of them total, to be split up between the siblings and the queen; in fact, two of the ones now in the princess’s entourage belonged to the prince, having been redistributed after his assumed death.
They seemed as pleased to have him back as anyone. Elgar was dying to talk to them, to learn from their own words that they were alright and being treated well, but of course his language skills were far from that. For what it was worth, he hadn’t noticed any injuries, even bruises, and they all seemed well-fed. They were expected to follow orders, of course, but who wasn’t? He’d even seen them chat and laugh among themselves, the way he and the prince would never have been allowed to.
Surely, they had drawn a fair enough lot, for slaves.
They seemed to regard him with a mix of curiosity and suspicion, especially when he tried to stay closer to them during the journeying. He didn’t fit with the royalty, he knew that, but clearly the slaves didn’t think he fit with them either; maybe they were worried what the prince would think if they treated him as an equal.
Elgar couldn’t blame them. He didn’t know what the prince would think, either, though more and more he started to entertain a faint hope his kindness would last, that his gentleness was genuine.
That flutter he had woken with was an echo of last night. He remembered, although it seemed almost like a dream. He touched his own forehead, where the prince had asked to kiss.
As if it was Elgar’s decision what happened with his body.
He swallowed, looked down at the prince—he slept so soundly, when Elgar knew he had always woken early these past days, and suspected why—and then got up to look out the window, which the slave had thrown open for the prince to wake to fresh air. The breeze helped clear Elgar’s mind, too.
The golden morning sun that just crept over the horizon poured its light over a rocky hillside, at the bottom of which a few houses huddled, with more scattered on the surrounding hills. Flocks of goats dotted the rugged landscape. The road had been getting rougher and rougher, and it had to zigzag up to the local manor they now resided in.
It was different from what Elgar knew. But maybe that could be a comfort.
A soft yawn called his attention back into the room. The prince had sat up, caught his eye, and smiled, giving him a little wave.
»Good morning, your Highness.«
The prince smiled wider hearing him speak in his language, and gave him a little thumbs-up, so brief it almost seemed shy.
»Have you slept well?« The question just popped out; he couldn’t usually bring himself to be casual with the prince, how could he? He had to switch back to Teeradian, too.
For a moment, the prince looked thoughtful, his smile running away; then he nodded, just as thoughtful, and the smile came back.
He pointed at Elgar, questioning, and now Elgar couldn’t help a smile of his own.
»Me too, thanks.«
* Orafin had never really seen Elgar smile before.
He realized it with perfect certainty now, because while Elgar had been handsome before—the curse that was a significant part of landing him in their master’s bed—now, in a moment, he was beautiful in a way that went beyond mere looks, something his fearful false smiles couldn’t begin to emulate.
He must be finally feeling better, and that was the best part of it all. Orafin’s heart felt fragile, after whatever it was that had happened last night, but now it felt lighter.
He got up and went to look out the window beside Elgar. He wondered what Elgar saw, looking out at this landscape that was so familiar to him, but, by all accounts, much different from flat, seaside Teeradia.
Elgar must have noticed something about his expression; he answered. Orafin was more than glad to hear it. Elgar had avoided speaking without being spoken to, and he, Orafin, couldn’t speak to him.
»It’s, um. It’s pretty. Different, but… pretty.«
For a moment, the thought dashed through Orafin’s mind that these words might as well describe Elgar himself; but he cast it out just as quickly. Others might think that, but he knew how alike they were.
He gave Elgar another smile, then went to wash. When he was done, he knocked on the door for Lilon, one of the slaves now returned to his service. Of course he could dress himself, but it was proper for a prince to be attended to—even if the thought sat askew in his soul now, somehow. He pushed that feeling aside, as well.
He didn’t want to cry again so soon.
Lilon entered in a moment, bowing to him before he went to assist him. »Good morning, Sir.«
Orafin accepted the help, like he had a thousand times before without sparing it a second thought. And yet… that, too, felt uneasy.
He had to remind himself that no slave in their family would ever suffer like he had, or like Elgar had. The laws of Ochuria didn’t even allow it.
And yet.
Impossible love - Nikolai Lantsov
Masterlist
Part 2
Pairing: Nikolai Lantsov x reader, Vasily Lantsov x reader
Wordcount: 1467
Warnings: implied smut, implied sexual assault, crying, heartbreaking ending (sorry not sorry)
Summary: You're getting married to Vasily, but your heart belongs to Nikolai. Based on this request:
The chapel was filled with people from all over the world. Councilmen from Kerch, the royal family of both Novy Zem and Shu han, the Suli princesses and almost every one of the dukes of Ravka and their families, a few Fjerdan delegates, they all occupied the benches in the chapel. The king’s advisors, the Grisha from the little palace and the royal family occupied the front rows. Vasily and you stood at the altar, he was wearing an elegant white suit, medals pinned to the front of his jacket and his dark curls slicked back. Your white wedding dress complimented you well and your hair was put together and decorated with silk bands in the light blue color that represented the Lantsov family.
You finished your vows with a shaky voice. Your eyes wanted to wander the room, to find anything to look at that wasn’t Vasily, or Saints forbid, Nikolai. You knew that if your eyes found his hazel ones you’d never get the words out. You gave a short nod when the last word was uttered and the apparat declared your marriage sealed. Vasily was smiling like a maniac and he hastily grabbed your waist, pulling you against him and pressing a messy kiss to your lips. The action caught you by surprise and you gasped for air in the middle of the kiss. With a low voice so no one would hear him over the applause, Vasily growled against your lips, “kiss me back, you fool.”
Not wanting to mess something up, you carefully wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him back. It was your wedding, for saints sake, you should be happy. You should be crying tears of happiness and kissing your now husband like there was no tomorrow. But all you could think about was how it was all so wrong. This reception felt wrong, the dress felt wrong, the ring on your finger felt wrong, the kiss felt wrong. When you opened your eyes and got once again reminded who was standing in front of you, your heart broke. With a subtle glance to the side, you found Nikolai’s gaze telling you that he felt the exact same.
The gardens had been decorated and rows and rows of tables and elegant chairs had been placed out for the guests. A table for the royal family stood in the front. Servants ran around placing out different dishes and drinks for the guests. King Alexander and Queen Tatiana sat to Vasily’s right, you to his left and to your left sat Nikolai. The closeness of him made your heart pound and break at the same time. Vasily’s hand grasped yours then he placed your intertwined ones on top of the table. A gift table stood at the far end of the table. It was covered in presents, each and every one of them reminding you that you’d actually married Vasily. A political move, all show, but Vasily still seemed to find pleasure in it. After all, he loved to take things his brother loved out of his reach, and you were the grandest price he’d ever get to take, the one thing that would break Nikolai’s heart for real.
The feast for you and Vasily lasted the whole day. The summer nights brought late sunsets and the world bathed in the sun’s last beams right now. Your feet hurt from walking in heels the whole day and the dress was heavy on your shoulders. When the feast was over and you all started to make your way inside the grand palace to get some well earned rest. You feared for the night to come, knowing you probably wouldn’t get much sleep. Vasily had other plans, and even though he hadn’t voiced them to you, you knew what he wanted.
Nikolai took your hand and pulled you aside from the crowd, hiding away behind the bushes and trees. He glanced around to see if anyone was in sight, and when he saw that no one had followed you, he quickly wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close to his chest and pressing you into him. The warmth from his body radiated off of him and spread to yours. You let yourself fall into him, taking the comfort he offered. If it was the feelings inside of you or the tiredness of today’s events that did it, you didn’t know, but you burst down in tears the second Nikolai pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. Your makeup got ruined and it would probably stain his clothes, but neither of you cared. Nikolai gently pulled away to look you in the eyes.
“It’ll be okay. Whatever happens, I’ll be by your side,” he promised with a soft voice and another kiss to your temple. You pulled away from his embrace and whipped your tears away, shaking your head in protest.
“No, you won't. I’ll be stuck beside Vasily and you’ll just be out of reach, watching.”
Nikolai’s heart broke and shattered at your words. You both knew it was true, but not until today had it seemed like it would actually happen. Not until today did he believe that you would ever belong to anyone else than him. But you both needed to stay hopeful. Maybe one day, it would solve itself and you would once again be by Nikolai’s side. The thought was in your prayers every night and day.
“You’ll survive this,” he said gently, taking your hands in his again, needing to have you close, if just for a few mere seconds until you’d have to return to the palace, to Vasily. The thought made him sick to the stomach of what his brother might do to you on your wedding night. “We’ll survive this,” he vowed and closed his eyes, trying his hardest to prevent the tears from falling from his eyes. You just stood there, watching as Nikolai’s hope slowly faded from his heart. You both knew that what you two had wasn’t possible anymore, and nothing had ever broken your heart more. The love of your life was standing in front of you, your hands in his, his beautiful hazel eyes filled with tears and his heart breaking into pieces. You both knew that there was nothing that could save you now, and the knowledge only made it hurt more. You drew a shaky breath and gave his hands a gentle squeeze before uttering the words that you’d dreaded since the day you were informed that you’d be married off to Vasily.
“I’m married to your brother,” your voice cracked and you drew a hasty, uneven breath. Your tears and breath were stuck in your throat and your hands shook. “I can’t be yours anymore and I never will be.” Nikolai let go of your hands and turned around, not bearing to look at you anymore. Your beautiful wedding dress and a white veil in your hair. A grand wedding ring on your finger. Nikolai had dreamt many times about the day you’d get married, and that day was here. It had passed and it left you both with broken hearts. You watched as Nikolai carefully sat down on the ground, his knees giving out under him. You knew that if you stayed any longer you would never be able to walk away but you couldn’t bring yourself to move. Carefully you placed a hand on Nikolai’s shoulder, and he broke down. He gasped for breath, his face buried in his hands and his whole body shook under your hand. His blond hair was messy now and the suit he was wearing had gotten small stains all over. But he was beautiful. He was perfect. He was a prince. He was perfectly beautiful Nikolai, but he wasn’t yours. You drew a shaky breath, breaking your own heart in the process, then you let your broken voice carry out the words, your last words, before you knew you had to go.
“I don’t wanna go,” you whispered, your voice not strong enough to speak any louder. “I don’t wanna go, but I love you too much to stay.” With that you slowly let your hand fall from his shoulder, resting your fingertips on the silk fabric for as long as you could. When your hand returned to your side, you gasped for breath, not believing that you’d let him go.
“Go,” Nikolai rasped out,”leave. Please,” he begged in a desperate whisper. You nodded, even though he couldn’t see you. He heard as your steps carried you away towards a night that would leave you bruised and broken. He looked up and watched the moment the sun slipped beneath the horizon, and the only thing he could think of was that it was way too beautiful.
Chapter 3 — Protection
[chapter warnings: slight harassment, self doubt]
t.o.c ; << | >>
"This is for you."
"Should you really be giving a kid a knife?"
"Hush. It's for her protection. I trust that she'd only use it in emergencies, isn't that right, Kimi?"
"Yes! Only if bad guys come."
Link stood behind you with a look of horror on his face as Kimi held the dagger delicately in her palm, turning it every way to inspect it. You crouched in front of her, only able to take in your little sister's face for the last time in a while.
Every little move had Link jumping, ready to snatch the blade away from Kimi and tend to a wound, but he didn't know one thing.
Kimi had been handling weapons since before she could even walk. You remembered having to pull a scimitar away from her little toddler grasp before she tried to chew on it like a teething toy, the Yiga who was watching her having given it to her to stop her crying.
You had full trust that Kimi, now at 11 years old, was capable of safely handling the dagger you'd gifted her.
"Do you really have to go?"
Kimi's puppy-dog eyes shined with tears as her question brought you from your memories. You bit your lip, your heart aching at the thought of having to leave her with Ameil.
"Yeah, Ki. We've got stuff to do— finding Hiro too!" You forced a smile. "Stay safe for me, I'll be back as soon as I can."
"And you'll bring Hiro with you?"
"And I'll bring Hiro with me. I promise."
You wiped at your eyes, giving Kimi one last hug before she hid the knife in her waistband and turned around, heading home.
Ameil and Laslow didn't know she was with you and Link at the Inn, the events from last night making them ban her from seeing you again. However, Kimi— who's always been the sneaky sibling— slipped through her window early the next morning and made her way to you. Nobody could keep her away from her big sister.
You had told Kimi to keep her back turned when she went home, and you would do the same, to make parting ways easier. It was a shame they had to happen so fast.
You didn't realize you were staring at the now-empty space in front of you until you felt Link's gloved hand on the small of your back. You blinked up at him and forced a watery smile before turning around as well and heading towards the gate where Taz and Epona were waiting.
"It's about a day and a half journey to the Domain. If we get going now, we'll probably be able to stop at Dueling Peaks Stable for the night." Link talked about the plan to try and distract you further.
"Good idea." You mused, "I don't think I'm ready to give up beds yet."
Link laughed. "One of these days you'll have to. But the good thing is that once you get to sleep on a bed after sleeping on the ground for so long, it feels extra relaxing."
"I'm sure!" You started thinking back about Link's past— how he went from the Princess's appointed knight to some clueless, feral homeless man. "I bet you had the nicest bed ever in the castle."
"I don't remember it, but I bet I did too!" He sighed wistfully, but you could see his smile drop ever so slightly. "I wonder what it would have been like if I could have actually protected Hyrule. Like, if I didn't fail."
"It doesn't seem like you failed to me," You shrugged, "Hyrule isn't destroyed yet."
"Because of Zelda. After they put me away, she was the one who confronted Ganon. She's still in the castle, fighting him. She's been holding him off for 100 years, waiting for me." You could tell Link was getting frustrated, so you pulled Taz closer to him. You laid your hand on his, which was gripping Epona's reins tightly. Link immediately began to relax.
"Well, that's what we're doing now. We're helping her, and once all the beasts are free, we fight Ganon!"
"Correction. I fight Ganon. You're not going anywhere near the Divine Beasts or him."
You roll your eyes, "I bet I can do more than you think I can."
"I'm sure, but this is my burden. My old friends already died because of me, I'm not going to let you have the same fate."
"Fuck fate, we make our own destiny."
Link just shook his head, still grinning at you. "I wish it were that easy."
When traveling with Link, the hours seemed to pass like mere seconds. Unlike when you first met him, he became easier and easier to talk to and joke around with.
It was nice to have someone new around.
You wondered if being with only your siblings for so long, and then just the Gerudo women had stunted your social skills, but you supposed not. That, or Link was just as strange as you are. It would make sense, seeing as though he hadn't talked to anyone for 100 years.
However bad your social skills were, they surely were improving as you both talked nonstop. Before you knew it, you had passed the Cliffs of Qince and Ash Swamp once more, heading towards the stable. It wasn't much longer until you'd stop for the night, and you were grateful.
"So," You took a moment, worried that you might breach a touchy topic, but you were curious. "What will happen after you kill Ganon?"
"If I kill Ganon." Link corrected. "And I haven't thought about it, I guess. We'd have to rebuild. Make sure everyone is safe and the country can get back on its feet again. If Impa is right and Zelda is still alive in there, we'll at least have a Queen to guide Hyrule."
You nodded. You were curious about his plans. You knew the plan you were always taught— once Hyrule was wiped out completely, the Yiga hoped Ganon would return Sheikah technology to its rightful owners and give them solace amongst the chaos of the monsters. They would finally get their revenge against the Hylians. After all, the Yiga were only created for those who despised the Hylians for exiling the Sheikah race and shunned those who turned away their technological advances.
But seeing Link's side seemed almost sad to you. The Yiga were so filled with hatred and malice towards Hyrule— to the point that they sided with someone bound to betray them— and yet Link just wanted to help people. He wasn't doing this for himself or for a title, but for the good of everyone.
"When Zelda comes back, will you go back to being her knight?"
The question, and idea itself, left a weird taste in your mouth. You weren't sure you liked the idea of being separated from Link. Even in such a short time, you'd enjoyed your adventures by his side. Maybe you could be a knight, too.
"If she asks, then yes. I'm still the Hylian Champion, so I suppose she'll appoint new champions for the beasts too and we'll prepare in case anything new happens." Link shrugged, tugging on Epona's reigns to veer her to the left. "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I still need to do so much more before we get there." He pointed to the stable ahead, "Go check us in, I'm going to the shrine nearby. I ignored it last time I was here."
You nodded and pulled Taz away from Epona. They seemed to get along well, too, neighing and whinnying at each other while you and Link talked amongst yourselves.
You boarded him up and purchased two beds— soft, because Link made you paranoid about not getting another bed for a while— before grabbing some ingredients out of your satchel and throwing them in the pot. A prime meat and rice bowl sounded amazing right now.
You stirred all the ingredients into the pot and let it simmer for a while, sitting on one of the stools to let it cook. Link wasn't back.
Some time passes. You scoop the dinner into two bowls and place one on the stool beside you. You decided to wait a bit longer. Link still hadn't returned.
The sun slowly began to set. Your bowl was still full— your stomach was beginning to cramp from hunger and you had to eat soon. Link's dinner was cold. He was nowhere to be found.
"What's a pretty thing like you doing up so late?"
You opened your eyes, one brow lifted confusedly. You hadn't even noticed they were closed. "Just waiting on my friend. He's late."
"Well, it's very ungentleman-like to leave a lady waiting for so long. Say, I'll keep you company until then. The name's Eziel."
The owner of the voice pulled a stool beside you and you finally got a glimpse of him. He had short, dark hair and beady dark eyes, not super muscular but not super skinny either. Just an average guy, but there was something about him you just disliked.
Not your cup of tea, that's for sure.
"I'm okay, thanks though." Your words were short and pointed, trying to get across that Eziel was unwelcome.
"Ahhhh, c'mon Miss. I'm just trying to get to know you. What's your name?”
At this point, Eziel was nearly facing you entirely and he was leaned towards you, delicately reaching out a hand to try and touch your knee. You were ready to just knock his lights out, but you didn't want to cause issues and lose your beds.
"That is none of your business."
Link's voice appeared behind you and Eziel and you could have cried in relief. Eziel, however, didn't share the same sentiment and glared at Link.
"Says who?"
"Says me."
"And who are you? Her boyfriend?"
Eziel had stood up at this point, strutting over to Link with his chest puffed up in an attempt at intimidation. Link didn't speak, instead choosing to subtly rest his hand on the hilt of his sword. Eziel's eyes followed, and he laughed.
"Pathetic. I've got a sword too. What are you trying to do, battle over her?"
"If it means you'll leave her alone, then yes."
Link's hand was fully on the sword now, ready to pull it out at any moment. You stood up and rolled your eyes, getting annoyed at whatever this little spat was, before shoving Eziel out the way and standing in front of Link.
"Go away." You spoke slowly.
"No."
Right after he spoke, Eziel reached out to grab you. You blocked his arm and threw it to the side, countering with a punch that knocked him to the dirt. Eziel looked up at you with pure anger in his eyes.
"Leave us alone or else I'll do worse." You were tempted to spit on him for good measure, but didn't get the chance. Eziel rolled his eyes and stalked off, both his ego and cheekbone undoubtedly bruised.
You shook your shoulders to loosen up and turned back to Link with a grin on your face. His own face, however, showed the complete opposite.
Your smile fell. "What?"
"You could've gotten hurt."
"Nah," you brushed it off, "He was all talk. I knew I'd be able to take him. Now come on, I'll reheat your dinner-"
A hand grabbed your wrist. "You should've let me handle that. I'm supposed to protect you."
"Link. Did I not tell you when we first partnered up that I could protect myself?"
"You also said you'd stay out of trouble."
"Trouble is my middle name, I'm used to it. That's why I can handle it." You genuinely didn't understand why it was such a big deal, so you shrugged it off again and stoked the fire, putting Link's bowl back on it.
Link stayed quiet for a few minutes as you finished reheating his dinner, only speaking to thank you. You sat on the log beside him, watching the flames of the fire.
"I'm sorry for making it seem like I don't trust you to handle things." Link set the bowl down. "I just don't want anything to happen. I'm getting used to not being lonely anymore, I don't want that to happen again."
"I get it, really. I don't want anything to happen to you either. That's why I jumped in again at the end when that guy was trying to get physical. You've got a big mission to finish, you can't get laid out by some jerk at a stable."
Link laughed. "If you think he could take me out, I'm offended. I can't believe you think so lowly of me."
"I don't! It's a pride thing, too. It was my battle, so I wanted to finish it."
Link nodded in understanding. "Bed time?"
He stood up and held his hand out. You grabbed it and let him pull you up from the log, following Link into the Stable. You put your stuff down and got ready for bed, but couldn't help but glance out of the corner of your eye. Link stood in front of your bed with his back turned to you, arms crossed over the front.
"Is everything alright?" You asked, lowly enough for only him to hear.
"I just don't feel comfortable with both of us being off-guard with this guy still around."
You rolled your eyes, smiling slightly at Link's protectiveness. "It'll be okay, I promise. If it makes you feel any better, we can take turns staying up tonight. Deal?"
Link looked at you for a moment, then sighed. "Deal."
Knight in Shining Armor Chapter 2
I did it!!
I continued the story!!
____________________________________________________________
Thud. Thud.
The sudden noise kickstarted your heart, and your mind raced with all of the possibilities as to who could be at the door. Wrapping yourself up in your blanket for a bit more decency, you crept slowly down the stairs.
The shop was bathed in moonlight, and through a window you could just barely make out a tall silhouette standing outside. It was not bright enough that you could make out who it was, but you could tell that it was definitely a man.
A feeling of annoyance bloomed in your chest. Was it Elis? You had absolutely no desire to talk to or see him at the moment. The sadness you felt earlier had gradually faded into anger and you were afraid that if you had to look at his face in your current state of mind you would say something you would come to regret.
Wrapping the blanket tighter around you, you stopped right in front of the door.
“Go away, Elis. I don’t want to see you right now. If you wanted to talk to me you should have bothered to show up to Telma’s this evening like you were supposed to.” Your voice was clear and devoid of any emotion. You didn’t want him to know how hurt you were.
“Well, then I might have some good news for you.”
Your eyebrows shot up, surprised to hear the voice on the other side. You immediately fumbled with the locks and pulled the door open.
“Link?”
Said man was leaning comfortably against a wooden beam that stood just a few meters away from the door. He was dressed in his casual civilian clothing, his fancy Royal Guard uniform swapped out for a loose fitting green tunic and tan pants. His blonde hair was partially pulled back into a half ponytail and the rest of his shoulder-length locks framed his face in a way that gave him a very ruggedly handsome appearance. He looked up as the door opened and gave you a soft smile.
“Hey. Can I come in? I bring gifts.” He patted the bag that hung at his side. Still working through your feelings of surprise, you simply nodded and stepped to the side so that he could pass by you.
After putting the locks back into place, you turned around and suddenly felt very self-conscious about your clothing.. or lack thereof. Underneath your blanket you were only wearing a large nightshirt that hardly covered your butt. You cursed yourself mentally for not having the foresight to put on some pants.
“What are you doing here?” You asked, squinting up at your friend. Afraid that your tone was a bit too harsh, you immediately rushed to add, “N-not that I’m unhappy you’re here! It’s just late and you’ve had a long day, I’m surprised you’re not already asleep.”
You certainly were not unhappy that he was here. In fact, you made a point to not acknowledge the relief (and maybe a bit of happiness) that had immediately washed over you when you saw that it was him at the door instead of Elis. His presence brought nothing but comfort, which you knew would not have been the case for anyone else. The only thing that made you nervous was the fact that he had seen you so upset earlier. You weren’t sure you were feeling up to rehashing the day’s shitty events and how worthless you were.
Link just shrugged. “Even if I wasn’t here, I wouldn’t be sleeping. There’s a fancy party taking place up at the castle right now. I should be working, but I called in a favor with Zelda and managed to get out of it.” He grinned mischievously, clearly proud of his actions.
You were surprised to feel a pang of jealousy at hearing how casually Link referred to the Princess. It was another reminder of just how close he was to the royal. You didn’t know everything about their relationship, but you did know that whatever connection they did have with each other was unlike any other. You’ve heard whispers and rumors about the true nature of their relationship, but Link had never confirmed or denied them to you and you never brought them up.
But it would make sense if they were together. I mean, that is the kind of woman that Link deserves. Truthfully, she’s probably the only person worthy of him.
“Well, I’m flattered that you chose to spend your night off here… but again, that begs the question: why?” You weren’t meaning to sound so skeptical and negative, but surely he had better ways to fill his time.
Link cocked an eyebrow. “Is it not enough to just want to come and see you?” He asked.
The effortless way he said that, as if it were the most obvious answer in the whole word, made your heart flutter. He intentionally made time to come see you? He wanted to come see you in the first place?
You opened your mouth, struggling to find words.
“Do you have any clean forks?” He asked suddenly, changing the subject. His random question seemed to snap you out of the stupor you had found yourself in.
“What?”
“Forks. We need some forks.” He turned then, making his way upstairs to where the living area and small kitchen were. You followed behind, still feeling very much confused.
Link rummaged through the kitchen drawers as if he lived there, taking no longer than a few seconds to produce two forks, one of which he gave you. Then, he pulled a small container out of his satchel. You frowned at it, trying to figure out what it was.
“I managed to snag a piece for us before I left the castle,” he grinned, setting the container down on the counter. He took off the lid, revealing a gorgeous slice of white cake. It was topped with thick white frosting and decorated with blue and gold flowers. It looked delicious. You stared at it with wide eyes, then looked up at Link. He waved his hand at it.
“Well, ladies first.”
You didn’t even pretend to be polite and deny the offer. Instead, you happily dug in. You tried and failed to hold in the moan that came from the back of your throat as you took the first bite. It was absolutely delicious, practically melting in your mouth.
“Lingk, dish ish amazin’!” Your voice was muffled, but happiness outweighed the shame of forgetting your manners.
He nodded, taking a bite of the cake for himself. But unlike you, he waited until he was finished swallowing to speak.
“I know how much you love sweets, so I figured that if I brought you a piece you wouldn’t be so angry with me for potentially waking you up. A peace offering, if you will.”
You shook your head. “You could murder my family and I’d still forgive you if you gave me a piece of this cake.”
Link laughed, the warm sound almost as satisfying as the food. “Alright, noted.”
The two of you finished the treat in a comfortable silence, and Link insisted on cleaning the forks himself once you were done. You sat on the counter next to him as he scrubbed the utensils with a rag and some water. Watching from the corner of your eye, you were amused at how concentrated he was. He carefully inspected each fork, rescrubbing when he found even the smallest fleck of cake or frosting left behind.
“Slayer of monsters and dirty dishes. What can’t you do?” You joked.
He hummed, considering the question. “I’m not really a fan of laundry.”
“Oh ho, so the great Link does have a mortal enemy then.”
“The very sight of a pile of dirty clothing strikes fear right into my very soul!” He exclaimed dramatically, turning to give you a look of exaggerated fear. He paused suddenly, frowning as he looked at your face. He took a step towards you and leaned in. “Hold still..”
You froze as he reached out towards you, unsure of what was happening. His warm hand cupped your cheek gently, and your heart started to pound so loud you were positive he could hear it. Before you could ask him what he was doing, he brushed his thumb over the corner of your mouth a few times.
“There,” he said quietly, a look of concentration on his face. “All gone.”
You just looked at him with wide eyes, and he met your gaze with a soft smile. Your cheeks burned underneath his palm. Both his touch and his proximity made your heart race and clouded your mind.
What is going on? Why am I reacting like this?
He held your gaze for what felt like forever, and you weren’t sure but you could swear you felt his thumb softly brushing over your cheek slowly. His touch was so light, however, that you could have just been imagining it.
You found yourself feeling a small sting of disappointment when he seemed to snap out of whatever trance he was in and pulled his hand back quickly. Your cheek suddenly felt ice cold and you almost wished he would put his hand back where it was.
“Sorry,” he said, clearing his throat. “You had some frosting on your cheek.”
You let out a nervous laugh, and the quiet that enveloped the room as Link finished cleaning the dishes was awkward and not as comfortable as before. When he finished, he turned to face you and leaned up against the counter. You scrambled for anything to say, hoping to break whatever weird tension had built up between the two of you
“Thank you for bringing me the cake. It was so good, I might have to break in to the castle sometime to get some more.”
Your joke seemed to do the trick, and Link visibly relaxed a bit. “Well, good thing you know one of the Royal Guards. I’m sure he could be persuaded to help you on your mission.”
You grinned. “Maybe I could offer to do his laundry for him, think that would work?”
The tension in the air was shattered by the sound of both yours and Link’s laughter. Whatever that awkward moment was, it was gone now. Though you could still feel the ghost of his hand resting gently on your cheek.
Link’s laughter died down, and his face slowly morphed into something a bit more serious. He crossed his arms and his eyes bore into yours. “So.. do you want to talk about it?”
You froze, and your smile slowly dropped as your brain took a second to register what exactly it was that he was talking about.
Of course he wasn’t going to let you pretend that he didn’t see you crying like a baby in the midst of a large and happy crowd.
You bit your lip and suddenly found a very interesting piece of fuzz on the blanket that was sitting in your lap. As you picked at it, you tried to fight off the tears that had begun to prick at the corner of your eyes.
“There’s nothing to talk about.” You worked hard to keep your voice steady.
“Where was he?” It was a simple question, but it cut through you like a knife. What hurt the most is that you couldn’t even answer it because you didn’t even know where he was.
You ignored the tears as they began to slowly slip down your cheek. You kept your head down, continuing to focus on the blanket, but soon the piece of fuzz was joined by small water marks as the tears dropped down around it.
“I don’t know.” You muttered.
“What do you mean?”
You sniffed, feeling slightly embarrassed to admit the truth. “He never showed up. I don’t know where he was.”
The silence that followed spoke volumes. Looking up through your lashes, Link’s face was difficult to read. The muscles in his face flexed beneath smooth skin as he clenched his jaw.
You laughed weakly. “Pathetic, right?”
“Something is pathetic, that’s for sure,” he muttered darkly.
“This keeps happening. I don’t know what I did but obviously,” your lip started to quiver violently and your voice shook as you struggled to speak, “I’m not good enough for some reason.” The last word came out as a sob, and you slapped your hand over your mouth to try and keep the rest from coming out. It didn’t help.
There was a long pause where the only sound in the shop was the sound of your crying. Then, “Get dressed.”
You hiccuped, trying to catch your breath and calm yourself down. You looked up in confusion, wiping your nose in case any snot had started to make its exit from your nose. “What?”
“Get dressed,” Link repeated, a serious look on his face. “We’re going out.”
It took a few seconds for his words to register, and you shook your head vigorously. “No, Link, I don’t-”
His warm skin was once again on your cheek, the back of his hand softly brushing away the tears that sat there.
He leaned in suddenly, his face just centimeters from yours, and there was a sparkle of something almost mischievous in his blue eyes. A stark contrast from the stoic expression he had been wearing moments before.
“Last one to the castle entrance is a rotten cucco egg.” His voice was a soft whisper, nearly inaudible. You stared up at him, a dumb look on your face.
“Wha..?”
But before you could ask any more questions, he gave you a delishly grin and took off, running out of the room and clunking down the stairs loudly.
“I - what? Link! Hey, wait!” You shouted after him, but got no response. “Oh fuck me,” you muttered. But you couldn’t deny the childlike giddiness that was bubbling up inside you as you ran to your room and pulled on some decent clothes as quickly as you could, determined to catch up with your friend. He had challenged you, and he knew that you weren’t one to back down from a challenge.
As you exited the shop, you saw Link standing a few doors down, obviously waiting for you. He didn’t let you catch up, however, and with a quick grin he was off again, running through the streets of Castle Town.
“This isn’t fair!” You shouted as you sprinted after him. “You got a head start!”
He looked back as he ran. “Don’t blame me because you’re slow!”
You stuck your tongue out at him, and then watched in horror as an unsuspecting couple walked right into the path of an inattentive Link who was charging like a bull. You opened your mouth to warn him, but luckily he turned back at just the right moment. He managed to jump out of the way, mostly avoiding them. But he still tripped over the man’s shoes, stumbling forward wildly. You didn’t even bother holding back the laughter as you followed behind, watching as he struggled to regain his balance.
“Sorry!” Link shouted, not even bothering to stop as he apologized. The couple gave him a nasty glare, then made to keep walking. However, they were once again abruptly stopped as you ran right into their path. You didn’t even need to look to know they were also giving you a dirty glare as well.
“Sorry!” You copied Link, also not even bothering to look back.
You couldn’t stop the laughter that was spilling out as you ran. The sadness from earlier seemed to melt away with each stride you took. All you were focused on now was keeping an eye on Link and trying to catch up. He kept glancing back to check on you as well, and the smile on his face as he did so gave you butterflies.
“Is that the best you got?” He shouted over his shoulder.
“You know, it’s amazing you can run so fast with a head that big!” You shot back. His laughter carried down, filling your ears.
“It’s part of the Royal Guard training!”
Big head aside, by the time you got to the castle entrance out of breath and sweaty, he was already there waiting, looking completely unfazed. Not even a drop of sweat on his brow.
He pretended to yawn as you dragged yourself up to him. “Well, it’s about time.”
You glared at him as you leaned down and placed your hands on your knees to try and catch your breath. He just smiled innocently.
“How does it feel?” He asked.
“What, the stabbing pain in my side? The sweet embrace of death herself?” You panted.
“Being a rotten cucco’s egg, I mean.”
You couldn’t even pretend to be mad, a loud laugh escaping your lips. He joined in, and next thing you knew, the both of you were in tears and struggling for air.
Once you two gained your composures, Link straightened up and gestured to the paved road that led up to the castle.
“There? Link, we can’t just walk into the castle!” You looked nervously at the very large guards that stood on either side of the entrance. They looked straight ahead, their faces completely blank. But you knew that they weren’t zoned out and would not hesitate to use the very sharp looking swords they had strapped to their hips if need be.
“C’mon, it’ll be fine. I promise.” He held out his arm to you. Hesitantly, you linked your arm with his and let him lead you. As you walked up to the guards, Link simply nodded to them. They returned the nod, and let you walk by without any issue.
“Wow, must be nice to be the Hero of Hyrule,” you muttered sarcastically. He shrugged.
“I guess putting my life on the line to save Princess Zelda and all of the people of Hyrule, yourself included, comes with the added perk of being able to enter and exit the castle freely. I mean really, that’s what makes it all worth it if I’m being honest.”
You rolled your eyes at him and gently smacked his arm. He rarely ever made jokes or even talked about the events that led to him being hailed as a hero, so it was strange to hear him acknowledge it, even if he was just joking around. He just smiled down at you, and the two of you continued the walk in a comfortable silence.
You weren’t exactly sure where he was taking you but as you approached the grand steps leading up to the front door of the castle, he quickly whisked you to the side and instead led you down a small path that disappeared around the side of the castle.
“Where are we going?” You finally asked. He glanced down.
“You’ll see. We’re almost there.”
After a few more minutes, you ended up in front of a small arched gate. Thick green vines covered most of the silver metal, and you wondered if it would even open at all. But without any effort Link pushed one side and it swung open easily. He held out his hand, which you took, and led you through.
The air grew thick with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. Crickets sang from their hiding places, competing with the sound of the leaves on the trees gently rustling in the soft breeze. The garden you had stepped into was filled with lush greenery, more vines climbing up the castle walls in a race to get to the top. The small area was dimly lit by the light of several small fairies, much to your wonderment. Some floated through the air, their tiny wings shimmering in the moonlight. Others sat perched on flowers or the trees, beautifully twinkling in the dark.
The sound of water trickling drew your attention to a small pond that sat in the corner of the garden. The water was calm, the reflection of the bright moon and stars dancing on the surface. Small ripples danced throughout as water traveled down a small waterfall made naturally by large rocks. You saw other sporadic ripples in the water further out, hinting at tiny creatures who have made the pond their home.
You truly had no words as you stood and absorbed the sight before you. The garden was small and magical, a sense of peace and serenity washing over you as you took in the beautiful sights and sounds under the lights of the moon and the fairies. From the corner of your eye, you could see Link looking down at you with a strange look on his
face.
After a few minutes of stunned silence, you finally found your voice. “What is this place?” You whispered.
Link gently grabbed your arm again, guiding you to take steps forward. “Come on, let's sit.”
A small bench sat at the edge of the pond, and the two of you took a seat and looked out at the water before you. You felt almost hypnotized watching the small stream trickle down the rocks and listening to the soft bubbling that accompanied it.
“After.. everything,” Link started, his quiet voice pulling you out of your trance, “I spent a lot of time here.”
You looked up and saw that he wasn’t looking at you, but rather looking out at the pond with a faraway expression on his face. You decided to stay silent to see if he would continue. He did.
“It was really difficult at first. Well, it still is honestly. But those first few weeks, months, after Zelda was back and we were picking up the pieces left behind after so long of turmoil and destruction.. I really struggled.
The transition from being constantly on the road, constantly fighting, constantly throwing myself into the face of danger and being unsure if I would live to see another day, another hour even..”
Your heart ached as you listened. You had only ever known Link to be courageous and brave. Hearing him talk about his struggles was difficult, and you didn’t want to think of him in any pain - emotional or otherwise.
He sighed, shaking his head. “When nobody knew who I was, it was easy. I mean obviously what I was doing wasn’t easy, but before I felt like I was only responsible for myself and…” his voice trailed off, and you sensed there was something painful in the word that was supposed to come after “and”. But it never came.
“I had pressure to succeed of course, knowing what fate would await Hyrule if I didn’t. But I didn’t have much time to stop and consider things. I just did what I had to do to get through each day.”
He nibbled anxiously on his bottom lip. A rare display of doubt and worry. “Now everyone looks up to me. They put me on such a high pedestal and for so long all I could think about was how much it was going to hurt when I fell. Because nobody really knows what I did. They don’t know the choices I had to make. The mistakes I made. How could I possibly be deserving of their love, their unwavering trust, with how many things I’ve done wrong?”
Gingerly, you placed your hand on his knee. You weren’t sure what to say, or if he even wanted you to say anything. But you wanted to comfort him somehow. For him to know that you were listening and there for him.
“I used to come out here almost every night. I had.. I had trouble sleeping for a while. And when I did, it was mostly nightmares. So I would come here and think about the questions I was too scared to ask out loud. What could I have done differently? Did I save everyone I could have saved?”
You could feel your heart breaking with that final sentence. The look on his face and the pain in his voice. You had no idea how he could doubt himself when he had saved so many people, but you also couldn’t pretend to understand what he had gone through either.
He turned to you, and you could see the vulnerability written on his face. “Luckily my nights out here have been becoming fewer and fewer in recent months. I don’t think I will ever be able to fully feel like I deserve any of the praise I get, but I am coming to terms with it. Learning to live with it. The voices in the back of my head will always be there, but they’re getting quieter and quieter with time.”
Silence once again fell between the two of you, and you waited to see if he was going to continue. He did not. So you focused on the sounds of the night while you tried to think of the best way to respond to him.
Link was one of your closest friends, but he had never been so open and honest and.. raw with his feelings before. While it hurt you to think of him struggling through all of those emotions alone, part of you - the selfish part - was over the moon that he had chosen to share these things with you. This was a whole new side of Link you were experiencing, but you decided that this was the most important one. This was the side that showed you the real Link. And he trusted you with that. That was no small thing.
“Link, I’m so sorry.. I had no idea you were dealing with all of that.” Your eyes searched his, hoping he could hear and see the sincerity in your words. He gave you a small smile and shrugged.
“I didn’t tell anyone. With all of the eyes on me, I didn’t want anyone to think I was ungrateful. Everyone believes me to be a strong and heroic person, so that’s what I’m going to show them.”
You shook your head. “But Link, I don’t think there’s a single person out there that would blame you for feeling the way you did. I mean, none of us know what it was like for you and you’re right. As soon as the dust settled, you were thrust into the spotlight and given all those fancy titles and promotions. There wasn’t much of an adjustment period, which I’m sure would be hard for anyone.”
He was quiet for a minute before laughing softly, which confused you immensely. Had you said something funny?
“Did I ever tell you what my life was like before? Back when I was just an average person who had never even been in a physical fight, nevermind battled monsters and evil rulers.” When you shook your head, he continued, a hint of longing in his voice. “I was a cattle ranch hand. I spent my days on my horse, rounding up the goats, cleaning stalls, and working on random projects around the ranch. Occasionally had to go and wrangle a goat or two that had gotten loose and tried to make its way down to the village.”
You couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped your lips as you tried to imagine Link wrestling with an angry bleating goat. He raised an eyebrow and pretended to look offended. “Don’t you laugh, it was serious business. To this day I think I’d rather take on Ganondorf than a pissed off goat charging at me.”
You nodded furiously and closed your lips together tightly, pretending to zip them up, lock them, and throw away the key. Link rolled his eyes but grinned at your foolishness.
“Anyways, I just never would have imagined what my future would hold. And don’t get me wrong, I am immensely grateful for Zelda and the people of Hyrule and everything they have done for and given me. But a part of me I think will always mourn the life I could have had. Simple but pleasant. With the freedom to exist without the weight of all this pressure.” He sighed wistfully, looking once again back out across the pond.
“Well, for what it’s worth, you are deserving.” He turned away from the pond to look back at you, and you continued. “You’re deserving not only because of what you did, but because of who you are. You are kind, you are caring, and you have the biggest heart of anyone I know. You intentionally go out of your way to help strangers, you play with the city’s kids during your free time, you visit other villages around Hyrule to make sure they have everything they need and if they don’t you make sure they get it, you share your food with starving potion makers.. I could go on, but I think you get the point.”
Link pursed his lips and tapped a finger on his chin as if he were thinking hard about something. “No, no I think I’d like you to continue.”
You scoffed loudly. “Fine. You also have the biggest head of anyone I know. That’s quite an impressive feat.”
His laugh was loud and genuine, and you didn’t even mind that it disrupted the peaceful quiet of the garden. You shoved his shoulder with yours, and he gladly returned the gesture. The two of you battled it out for a minute or two before Link put up his hands in surrender. With a triumphant smile you leaned back on your hands and looked up at the sky.
“Thank you.” He said after a few moments of comfortable silence. “For listening to all of that. It was nice to get it off my chest finally.”
You sat up straight and gave him a serious look. “Anytime Link. I’m more than happy to listen when you need it. That’s what friends are for.”
He stared at you for a few seconds before nodding and smiling, though for some reason it didn’t quite reach his eyes. It almost looked.. sad. Before you could ask him about it, he looked away and changed the topic.
“Well, this is my special place to come and think about my life and whether I’m deserving of love and kindness. So I brought you here because I want you to do the same.”
You took a sharp breath, suddenly being reminded about the situation with Elis and why you were even out of your bed in the first place. Since stepping into the garden you hadn’t thought once about it all.
“What do you mean?” You asked.
“I mean,” his voice was stern, “That you need to realize that you are also deserving. And to accept anything less is just cheating yourself.” When he looked at you, his gaze was intense and it seemed to cut right through to your very soul.
Listening to Link talk about his feelings had been easy, but now that the attention was turned on to you, you suddenly felt very uncomfortable. You didn’t want to sit and list out all of the reasons why you were certainly not deserving and make yourself look even more pathetic than you already were.
“It's hardly the same,” You said quietly. “You’re.. you. And I’m.. me.”
He shook his head. “Our situations are unique, sure, but that does not mean that you are any less deserving of happiness.”
“I am happy.” You knew it was a pathetic lie, and you knew that Link would absolutely not believe you. And by the look on his face, you could tell he certainly did not. But before he could lecture you any further, you suddenly stood up.
“It’s getting late, and I’m very tired. Walk me home?”
He looked like he wanted to protest, but eventually he nodded. Once again he held out his arm, and you took it, welcoming the sense of comfort and security being close to him brought. You did feel guilty that he had been so open and vulnerable with you tonight, only for you to immediately shut down when he tried to get you to do the same. But you hoped that he would realize that it wasn’t worth the discussion and would give it up.
The walk back to your home was silent, neither of you knowing what to say. It wasn’t an uncomfortable silence per se, but the journey to the garden had certainly been more fun. You kept stealing glances at Link from the corner of your eye as you walked, but his face was unreadable. You had no idea what was going on in that mind of his.
When you reached your shop, you were both relieved and disappointed. You dropped Link’s arm and unlocked the shop door. When you turned around to say goodbye, you were surprised to find that Link was much closer than you expected.
Your heart began to beat rapidly at the proximity, which was silly because you had just spent the whole walk home arm-in-arm with him. But something about the way that he was standing, looking down at you just a step away, felt different. More intimate.
You looked up at him - goddesses, he was tall - with wide eyes. He said nothing as he brought his hand up to your face. With a gentle touch, he caught hold of a lock of your hair and tucked it back behind your ear. His fingertips brushed your neck softly, sending tingles down your spine and butterflies erupting in your stomach.
“Please just think about what I said,” he murmured, his voice so soft you almost had to strain to hear what he said. His hand was still holding the side of your neck, however, and really that’s all you could focus. Link probably could have shouted his words directly into your ear and you still wouldn’t have heard him properly.
You nodded, unable to form words or even a single coherent thought. His thumb delicately stroked the sensitive skin behind your ear, triggering another wave of tingles and butterflies.
“Promise?” His blue eyes were pleading and sincere.
You nodded again, not even able to imagine how you could possibly say no to him in this moment.
He stared for a moment longer before nodding, seeming to accept your answer. You expected him to pull his hand away, but instead he pulled you into his chest, catching you completely off guard. His one hand stayed placed at the base of your neck while the other snaked around your back, pressing you to him.
You momentarily forgot how to breathe.
Had he ever hugged you before?
Why was he hugging you?
WHY did he smell so good??
You felt brief pressure on the top of your head, and then he released you and stepped back. As he did so, you finally took the breath you hadn’t realized you were holding.
“Sleep well.” His smile was warm and damn it, when did his smiles start to make your stomach flip so violently?
Ever so smooth with words, you replied “Uhh okay.”
Link gave a final wave goodbye and you stood there like an idiot, watching as he walked down the road until he turned and was out of sight.
Then, as if a switch had been flipped in your brain, a million thoughts and emotions slammed into you at once. Giddiness, guilt, sadness, confusion, admiration - you felt it all. You had no idea how to even begin to process anything that had happened that night or the emotions that you were feeling. You were like a zombie as you wandered upstairs to your room and changed back into your sleep clothes, your head swimming with so many things.
When you laid down finally, you decided to just push all of the thoughts and emotions away and shut your brain off. You would think about it later. Put off sorting out your feelings for later as you always did.
But there was one feeling you couldn’t push out of your head no matter how much you tried. The feeling of Link’s touch. His hand on your cheek wiping away the tears. His thumb stroking your neck softly. His arms wrapped around you as he pulled you close. And how utterly empty you felt when he pulled away.
Groaning, you smashed your face into your pillow and pulled the covers up over your head until you were enveloped in total darkness.
“Sleep well.”
“Fuck off,” you muttered to yourself, knowing that the very person who said those words would be the exact reason why you would not.
why is jon always calling ppl ugly??? the minute he meets shireen he calls her ugly and for WHAT
I did not remember Jon calling everyone ugly 😂
"Princess." Jon inclined his head. Shireen was a homely child, made even uglier by the greyscale that had left her neck and part of her cheek stiff and grey and cracked. "My brothers and I are at your service," he told the girl. Shireen reddened. "Thank you, my lord." (ADWD, Jon IX)
In this I differ with a lot of the fandom and think many descriptions are for the reader, not always an indicator of the POV's feelings, but just an opportunity for the writer to let us know what the characters look like. I think Jon and Val offers a pretty clear example of this. Her beauty pops up a lot but until ADWD, Jon XI, I didn't think we were being guided to think it affected Jon much?
"Val looked at him with pale grey eyes. "He always climbed too fast." She was as fair as he'd remembered, slender, full-breasted, graceful even at rest, with high sharp cheekbones and a thick braid of honey-colored hair that fell to her waist." (ASOS, Jon X)
"Val was a stranger to him. She was not hard on the eyes, certainly, and she had been sister to Mance Rayder's queen, but still . . ." (ASOS, Jon XII)
"Val stood beside him, tall and fair. They had crowned her with a simple circlet of dark bronze, yet she looked more regal in bronze than Stannis did in gold. Her eyes were grey and fearless, unflinching. Beneath an ermine cloak, she wore white and gold. Her honey-blond hair had been done up in a thick braid that hung over her right shoulder to her waist. The chill in the air had put color in her cheeks." (ADWD, Jon III)
There are more, but you get the idea. These all read as just, descriptions to me. I don't feel any particular interest on Jon's part, she is beautiful, we're told so, fine. But then we get this:
"Then Ghost emerged from between two trees, with Val beside him. They look as though they belong together. Val was clad all in white; white woolen breeches tucked into high boots of bleached white leather, white bearskin cloak pinned at the shoulder with a carved weirwood face, white tunic with bone fastenings. Her breath was white as well … but her eyes were blue, her long braid the color of dark honey, her cheeks flushed red from the cold. It had been a long while since Jon Snow had seen a sight so lovely." (ADWD, Jon XI)
We get the description of her hair and eyes and cheeks that we've had scattered throughout any scene with her, but this time, we get the nudge. Jon is attracted.
So, for the description of Shireen, it simply reads as telling the reader about her appearance, I don't get any negative feeling from Jon, and it’s quite a juxtaposition when he is repulsed, not by Shireen, the “ugly” princes, but by Val, the beautiful “princess”:
"North of the Wall it is. Hemlock is a sure cure, but a pillow or a blade will work as well. If I had given birth to that poor child, I would have given her the gift of mercy long ago." This was a Val that Jon had never seen before. "Princess Shireen is the queen's only child." "I pity both of them. The child is not clean." "If Stannis wins his war, Shireen will stand as heir to the Iron Throne." "Then I pity your Seven Kingdoms." "The maesters say greyscale is not—" "The maesters may believe what they wish. Ask a woods witch if you would know the truth. The grey death sleeps, only to wake again. The child is not clean!" "She seems a sweet girl. You cannot know—" "I can. You know nothing, Jon Snow." Val seized his arm. "I want the monster out of there. Him and his wet nurses. You cannot leave them in that same tower as the dead girl." Jon shook her hand away. "She is not dead." "She is. Her mother cannot see it. Nor you, it seems. Yet death is there." She walked away from him, stopped, turned back. "I brought you Tormund Giantsbane. Bring me my monster." (ADWD, Jon XI)
Looking at this, I think Jon cares far more about what a person believes / who they are than their appearance. So, even if the “ugly” description is dropped in his chapter, he’s courteous to Shireen and thinks she’s sweet and resists the negative view of her others have. IMO, the “ugly” thing isn’t a characterization element the way some descriptions are.
Also, just rereading this, the whole “she’s dead and you and her mom just don’t know it yet” —is really upsetting, considering what Stannis is gonna do.
~~~ <> ~~~
That morning you were awoken by a rather energetic Zelda. She’d already ushered you awake by pulling the blinds open, filling the room with sunlight that overpowered the dim light of the blue lamps. You tried to blink some of the sleep from your eyes as you watched her scamper around the room, getting ready.
“We’ve got some rather important tasks ahead of us, _____. Fixing the Divine Beast will be no easy feat, and I can’t quite imagine what might be wrong with its mechanics. I searched through all of Mipha’s notes last night, and even through other books and records that made mention of Vah Ruta, but I couldn’t find a single thing about a shortage of energy,” she explained as she changed into some clothing the servants had left. You slid out of the bed, cringing as your bare feet met the cold stone floor of the room. You stood and walked over to the drawers, debating in your head whether or not you should put on the same outfit as yesterday or try your hand at some of the Zora clothing. You pulled out a soft, deep blue tunic and examined it thoughtfully, before the princess quickly caught your attention once more. “Well,” she began, pulling her braided hair back as she looked up at you, “I’m going to head down to the library and grab Mipha’s journal, just in case it does offer us some help. Why don’t you go and find Sidon and we can all meet up in the plaza in roughly twenty minutes.”
You nodded your head curtly in response and she gave you a sincere smile before stepping out of the room. Once she was gone you shrugged off the robe you’d fallen asleep in. You took a quick minute to wash up in the pool of water in the room, using your nails to scrub at your skin and get off any grime and dirt and sweat that’d built up during your journey from Kakariko to Zora’s Domain.
Once out of the pool, you grabbed a towel from a stack that’d been laid out for you, savoring the soft, plush fabric as you dried off and walked back over to the drawers of clothing. You pulled on the blue tunic you’d been looking at earlier, careful not to mess up your hair too much. You found a pair of pants in the drawers as well that were similar to leggings- they seemed form-fitting and the fabric was rather smooth, likely to make movement in water easier.
You tugged on those pants and afterwards put your boots on as well. You took a few moments to fix your hair and make it presentable, merely using your hands to do so since there was no brush or comb in the room.
Once satisfied with your general appearance you walked over to the bag of items you’d brought along with you and pulled out a chest piece- the Zora Armor that’d been gifted to you weeks prior. You put it on over the tunic you were wearing, making sure each part was secure. You felt confident in this armor, it had significant value to you.
After defeating Ganon you looked at this armor differently. Previously it was a piece of armor you wore rarely- in fact you’d only worn it once, when you and Sidon were trying to calm Vah Ruta so you could board it. You hadn’t put it on since, even after Cotera repaired and upgraded it.
Then the armor had been a mystery to you. Something from your past that you knew next to nothing about. It was made by a girl who loved you- Princess Mipha, one of your best friends who fought by your side until her bitter end. You lost her to Ganon.
But now Ganon was gone and your memories had returned to you. You saw the armor she crafted for you in a new light. You’d avenged her- along with the three other champions and practically all of Hyrule. You could wear this armor in confidence now, knowing that when you wore it you wore it for her.
You may not have loved Mipha in the same way she loved you but she was still one of your best friends, even now that she’d passed. But her soul was at rest now, and even you knew that she would’ve never been happy if you carried guilt with you.
Once you had the armor on, there were two more things you needed. One, the Master Sword. You hooked its sheath around your torso and grabbed the sword, grinning when you felt the energy from the sword hum in your hold. You maneuvered your arm and tucked the shield away as your other hand reached into the bag.
Your fingers found a cool metal and you quickly pulled out a band- the bracelet that Sidon had gifted you after your first meeting. You turned it in your hand, smiling at it fondly, before slipping it on your arm and letting it sit on your bicep over the armor.
You used one of the mirrors in the room to give yourself one final look over, before heading out in search of Sidon.
…
Roughly ten minutes later you and the prince were walking side by side up a set of stairs. When you’d gotten to his room, you were surprised to see that he’d just woken up. He explained to you that after your conversation from the night before he’d been able to achieve a deep rest, and had been able to sleep in for once.
After he shook himself awake and got dressed- well, dressed as the Zora did, simply adorning himself in his usual accessories- the two of you were heading to the plaza to meet with Zelda. A soft blush dusted your cheeks as you walked beside him, though you’d been tired last night you vividly remembered the kiss he’d placed on your forehead after bringing you back to your room.
It seemed as though Sidon had something similar on his mind, as a faint blue tint had settled on his face, contrasting his bright red scales. You pulled your gaze away from his face though, not wanting to be caught staring, and instead brought it down to the floor- before something caught your eye.
You found yourself gazingat one of his hands, and noticed he was wearing a ring on his pinky finger. It was a teal color, and felt oddly familiar to you, yet you couldn’t figure out why… until it hit you.
“Wait a minute- are you wearing the earring I gave you as a ring?” you asked him, a grin on your face as you laughed a bit.
He jumped a bit at the sudden question since you’d been silent moments before. He stopped in his tracks and looked down at his hand with a look on his face that also seemed like he’d forgotten he was wearing the ring. “Oh- oh yes, I had it resized a small bit so I could wear it, so it wouldn’t be easily lost. Should I ever need to contact you with Archimedo, it will always be nearby,” he answered, using his other hand to brush his fingers across the ring, and you noticed the blush on his face increased.
You giggled a little, finding his reaction quite charming. “Ah, don’t feel embarrassed about it, I’ve been wearing your bracelet too,” you reply, showing him your arm.
“Well, I suppose great minds think alike,” he smirked, showing off his sharp teeth with a bit of a sly grin, “now then, we’re supposed to find Princess Zelda, yes-”
But before he could finish talking he was interrupted by yelling. Multiple voices yelling. Yelling… children?
“Miss _____!! Hylian Champion!”
“Prince Sidon, Prince Sidon!!”
Both you and the prince looked at each other quite confused, before turning towards the plaza. You saw four Zora children running directly towards you at top speed, and had to brace yourself when two of them tackled you and clung on to your legs.
“Woah there, give me a bit of a warning before a surprise attack like that, you guys,” you laughed, turning to look at Sidon and the two other children who stood in front of you.
“We’ve been looking for you all over, Miss _____, we’ve been wanting to make you your gift!!” one of the children who was grabbing onto you exclaimed.
This one was a young boy- well, young for a Zora, he could have easily been a few decades old already. He had bright blue scales, a similar blue to the tunic you wore beneath your armor. If you remembered correctly, this was Tumbo, he’d eagerly introduced himself to you and the ceremony a few weeks ago when you’d appeased Vah Ruta.
“A gift? Oh, I remember Sidon mentioning that you all had a surprise for me,” you replied thoughtfully, and you could see the little smile playing on Sidon’s lips as he watched you interact with the kids.
“Yes, but we need time to make it! Are you staying in the domain again today?” one of the other children asked curiously- this one wasn’t hanging onto your body, but instead standing and looking up at you intently.
This was a young Zora girl, though you could tell from her demeanor that she must’ve been older than Tumbo. Her scales were red, similar to Sidon’s but not quite as bright as his, and you tried to rack your head to recall her name- you believed it was Finley, but you weren’t so sure.
Sidon piped up this time to answer the question, walking over to stand behind you so the children could look up at the two of you at the same time. “Well, _____, Princess Zelda and myself are all going on a little bit of a venture today-” he began, earning a disappointed groan from all four kids, “however, I estimate we should return before nightfall, and that gives you ample time to prepare this surprise of yours,” he continued on, placing his hands on your shoulders as he spoke.
The children cheered at this, but you found yourself flustered and a bit distracted at his touch on your shoulders. It felt somewhat intimate, him standing so closely behind you with a gentle hold, but you shook it from your mind. Surely, you must’ve been overthinking.
“Oh great! We’ve got a few hours guys, let’s get going-” one of the other children exclaimed, the one that was on your other leg. This little zora also has red scales, similar to Finley’s. She seemed to be closer in age to Tumbo, and if you remembered correctly this was Laruta.
The four children quickly scuttled away, and one of them stalled for a moment to look back at you.
“Um, thank you Miss _____, for everything you’ve done. Also you should come to our family’s general store again,” she said shyly, before turning to catch up with her friends. She had blue scales, almost exactly like Tumbo’s, and you believed that this was his sister Keye, who would’ve been the youngest of the bunch.
A little grin settled on your face when you watched them run off, and you looked up to see Sidon staring down at you with a soft smile, almost in an admiring way.
“W-what?” you asked him with a little blush, wanting to hide your face but not able to run away from this.
“It’s nothing, young one, you’re just rather good with children, I hadn’t quite noticed this since I myself was only a child at the time,” he replied, tilting his head to the side as his hold on your shoulders loosened, “you captivate them. You even got little Laruta to look up to you, and normally all she can stare at is me. I’m very sure she’s apart of my- er… fan club.”
You giggled, and as you laughed you happened to lean back and bump your back against his torso. You both stilled, eyes going wide. Somehow that touch was different- you were accustomed to friendly hugs, but after that forehead kiss you’d received last night, everytime the two of you touched now felt…. different.
Things were changing between you and the prince. You just weren’t quite sure how.
You moved forward, and Sidon’s hands fell off of your shoulders. You coughed a bit awkwardly, trying to rid your face of the blush that’d settled.
“My apologies, was that too much-” Sidon began, but you quickly interrupted him.
“No no no, it’s um… it’s fine, it was fine, you’re fine… um… yeah…” you trailed off.
An awkward silence fell between the two of you. Oh you hated this. You didn’t want to be awkward with him. You guys were good friends right? Friends… why did you suddenly detest calling Sidon your friend? A part of your mind simply hated how it sounded.
Before your mind could torture itself with those questions anymore though, a voice called out to both of you and broke the silence.
“Sidon, _____! Are both of you ready?”
You turned to see Zelda walking across the plaza towards you, flanked with a group of four zora guards. “The king thought it best that we bring some protection with us. The monster presence has lessened greatly since Ganon's downfall, but it’s good to be well prepared.”
She had a bookbag with her, which you could only assume carried some of the journals and notes from the library.
“Great, lovely, well... I suppose we’re good to head out right?” you reply, looking around at the group you’d be traveling with. Everyone nods in agreement, and Sidon goes to speak with the guards to pick the safest route since they have two Hylians traveling with them.
You looked out into the distance, up in the Zora upperlands where the dormant body of the Divine Beast was sat. “See you soon, Ruta…” you murmur under your breath, before moving to walk beside Zelda and Sidon as you head towards the Great Zora Bridge in a group.
…
The trek through the land surrounding Zora’s Domain was a mostly peaceful one. The terrain was gorgeous, the mountains surrounding the domain were hues of purple and blue, with luminous stones sticking out in random clusters. The path was decorated with lamps the Zora built from luminous stone as a guide, and though the lamps were beautiful you were far more distracted looking out into the distance than just admiring architecture.
You’d become friendly with the four Zora guards who were tagging along as well. You learned their names were Bazz, Dunma, Tottika, and Rivan. Bazz was the captain of the guard for Zora’s Domain, and Rivan was actually someone who you knew from your childhood.
When you were far younger, before your training to become Zelda’s knight, the two of you were good friends and would play around when you visited the domain. His family was closely acquainted with the royal family, and since you were Mipha’s friend he then became your friend too. His friendship then eventually led to him becoming a guard, and you congratulated him on the accomplishment.
While on the way up Ruto Mountain the seven of you passed one of the big stone monuments that had carved writings into them- a history of the Zora, most of which were told from the point of view of King Dorephan. The one you passed happened to be about Prince Sidon, who quickly tried to divert your attention away from it.
“No no, please, we must read this and tell Princess Zelda and our Hylian Champion allllll about it,” Captain Bazz says with a grin, and you’re able to see Sidon toss him a deathly glare out of the corner of your eye.
Bazz made a great show of dramatically clearing his throat as he readied himself to read the monument. You turned to see Sidon staring down at the ground, one of his hands covering his eyes as he puffed out a frustrated sigh. You felt a bit bad for him, but had to admit that watching his friends tease him this way was a little funny.
“The History of the Zora!... Addendum Two; Prince Sidon’s Great Escape,” Bazz began, though he spoke in a grandiose and exaggerated voice that made the other three guards laugh, and both you and Zelda giggled as well, “there was once a giant Octorok in Hateno Bay, large as a mountain, which terrorized the village’s fishers. Hearing of their distress, Prince Sidon went forth to personally eliminate the offending Octorok.”
You were already interested in the story. An Octorok the size of a mountain? It seemed practically unheard of, you almost wanted to question Sidon on whether or not it was true. You glanced over at Zelda and saw that she was absolutely hooked on the story, and you could understand why, Bazz was a very talented storyteller.
“But this Octorok was a tricky beast, oh yes. After the prince dodged one of the stones it spat, it inhaled him whole,” Bazz paused for a dramatic effect and you could hear the princess quietly gasp beside you, “such had been the fate of many strong warriors who went to slay the Octorok. Not a single one had come back alive. Just as it seemed Prince Sidon would be counted among them, the giant Octorok twisted in pain.
The tip of a silverscale spear pierced the Octorok’s stomach from within, revealing itself as the source of the beast’s agony. Incredibly, Prince Sidon had fought his way out by stabbing his spear over and over into the monster’s stomach. Unable to bear the pain, the Octorok coughed up the prince and scrambled to escape. Ever since, the fishers of Hateno Bay have passed down this heroic tale: The Prince who Slew the Fell Octorok.”
Bazz received an applause from his captivated audience once he finished his dramatic reading of the stone monument, and he sassily bowed and took in the praise he got from you.
“Ah yes. We all love that enthralling tale, now may we please move on,” Sidon sighed behind you, and when you turned to look at him you could see an embarrassed blush on his face.
The group continued on its trek and continued to move southwest of Ruto Mountain, letting Zelda lead the way since she was using the Sheikah Slate’s map. After a while of walking, you stopped being involved in the group’s conversations and merely listened instead. This also leads to you beginning to lag behind and eventually falling to the back, walking beside Sidon who wasn’t taking part in the conversation either.
“So… why’d you wanna avoid the history lesson?” you asked him curiously, since you could tell he was still a bit perturbed after the whole thing and you’d hate it if he wasn’t happy like his usual self.
He frowns, his bright yellow eyes dancing around before they focus on you. “It’s not that I don’t enjoy the story. I know it’s an enthralling tale, though I don’t have the fondest memories of the experience. I dislike it because I feel as though I didn’t perform to the best of my abilities. My original goal was to slay the Octorok, rid the people of the bay of it forever, but I didn’t succeed. Plus… getting eaten by an Octorok isn’t exactly the heroic act I wish to be remembered for,” he explained with a bit of a sour tone.
You purse your lips as you listen to him explain himself. “Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. While you may not be satisfied in your performance, you by no means did a bad job. You scared away a giant Octorok, one that all soldiers before you had failed to do the same with. All those fishermen in the bay are probably indebted to you, you saved their livelihoods and kept their home and place of work safe. Isn’t that something to be proud of?” you explain, giving him a meaningful look with a sincere smile gracing your lips, “besides, it gives you a cool story to tell. And a pretty cool scar too,” you laugh, pointing up at the faded scar on the side of his head.
You knew you’d been able to cheer him up a bit when you saw his familiar grin again. “Thank you, young one. I suppose that is one way to look at it,” he sighs happily, looking down at you with a cheerful glint in his eyes.
‘There’s the Sidon I know and love-‘
You were taken aback by that thought. You weren’t expecting yourself to associate the word ‘love’ with the prince. It felt foreign in your mind as you repeated it back to yourself. ‘Love? Why was that the word that came to mind?’
Your smile had twisted down into a frown as you thought through all of this, and you barely noticed the look of concern Sidon was giving you while you mulled over all of these thoughts. He raised a hand to try and place it on your shoulder, to offer you some moral support. He didn’t know what your plight was but he’d offer you any help he could.
Before his hand could make contact with you, a shock arrow went whizzing by, and the prince had to jump back to avoid it. Your wide eyes met the Sidon’s surprised ones and you immediately drew your sword. You could see ahead in the path Bazz instructed his fellow guards to get into formation around Zelda, keeping her protected as she was weaponless.
“Prince Sidon! It looks like a horde of Lizalfos are camped here… and they’ve spotted us,” Dunma called out, cringing at the sound of a horn being blown in the distance. You recognized that horn all too well, it was the sign that monsters were near and you were being targeted.
You watched as Bazz quickly maneuvered, grabbing onto a spare spear the group had brought and tossing it through the air. Sidon caught it gracefully, his grip on the weapon firm and confident which clued you in on the fact that he was well versed in spearmanship, much like his sister was.
“You four, escort Princess Zelda up to the Divine Beast, she has the map and I have faith in her to lead you there. Avoid fighting these Lizalfos, they’re equipped with shock arrows meaning we’re all vulnerable,” Sidon instructed, a stern look in his eyes as he tried to form plans in his mind.
Three more shock arrows went whizzing above your heads, and all of you ducked closely to the ground while continuing to discuss this. You could feel Sidon tense up beside you, and now all you wanted was to get out of this situation as quickly as possible.
“What about you and _____?” Zelda quickly asked, her eyebrows furrowed as she looked back at you. She had the Sheikah Slate held in her hands tightly and you could practically feel the worry she was feeling for you right now. Ever since the calamity she’s hated the thought of you being in danger.
“Zelda…. we’ll be fine. We’ll meet you five at Ruta, Sidon and I are both strong, we’ll be able to get there on our own,” you replied, giving her a smile to try and assure her.
She nodded her head, taking one last look back at you and the prince before being ushered off the path by the guards, following the Slate to find another way up to Vah Ruta.
You jumped when you felt a hand on your back, not realizing your nerves were so high already. “Calm down, young one, it’s only me,” Sidon spoke softly, though you could hear a waver in his voice that showed he himself wasn’t exactly calm at the moment either, “I believe there’s a river nearby. Since you have the Zora armor we can travel by water, and I have serious doubts that any Lizalfos here can match my speed when swimming.”
It seemed like a good enough plan in your mind. Avoid the Lizalfos ahead by swimming around their camp, and once the coast was clear you could travel by land again. All you had to do was get to the river without being shot or speared.
You thought it over in your mind and remembered something Sidon had told you about long ago- Zoras are incredibly, incredibly, vulnerable to anything electric. You turn to look Sidon dead-on and grab his arm. “You need to promise me that if any arrow comes our way, we’ll do the best to avoid it- and if either of us gets hit with an arrow, it’s going to be me.” you told him, the most serious you’d ever been with him.
He looked back at you in shock, and quickly shook his head. “_____, no, I cannot say that-”
“Sidon,” you interrupt him, your voice shaky despite how stern you were trying to sound, “please. You’re a prince, you have a duty to your people, do not risk harm trying to protect me. I have Mipha’s Grace, if I get hit I’ll be fine, but if you get hurt I don’t know if I’ll be able to save you, I didn’t even bring elixirs with me.”
Neither of you speak after this. All that can be heard is the distant sounds of Lizalfos hissing under the winds hitting the mountain side. Sidon swallows nervously before nodding his head slowly, still maintaining eye contact with you, “alright, young one… I promise.”
You smile despite the anxious adrenaline you were feeling, and the two of you slowly get up from your crouched positions. As soon as Sidon stood at full height, the sound of a horn being blown could be clearly heard.
Your grip on the Master Sword tightened, but you froze up when you felt Sidon take your free hand, lacing his fingers with yours. “The river should be this way,” he told you, his eyes looking around frantically.
You nod and suddenly the two of you are off, sprinting through grass and off the path, Sidon leading you and never letting go of your hand or loosening his grip. You can hear a few stray Lizalfos following behind, not close enough to make dangerous attacks, but close enough so that quick movement was still necessary.
Luckily, Sidon knew this land like the back of his hand, and within minutes you were at a river bed. You tied the small bag of supplies you’d brought along tightly, glad nothing inside would be damaged too badly in the water.
Sidon had let go of your head, though you noticed he’d done so rather slowly. He leapt into the water with his spear, surfacing to look back at you expectantly. “Ready, young one? You’ll do marvelous, just like the last time we were in the water, I’m sure of it,” he told you, his familiar and encouraging grin gracing his lips.
Those words were all you needed to hear to sheath your sword and get into the water after him, wading for a few small moments before the prince met you halfway. He quickly helped you onto his back. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders carefully, and he gave your arm one pat to reassure you before speeding off in the water.
The feeling was exhilarating, just as it had felt weeks ago when the two of you worked together to appease Vah Ruta. You could barely hold back the laughs and cheers of excitement that passed through your lips, loving the feeling of the wind whipping past you and the water practically splitting just to let Sidon through.
The ride didn’t last long though, sadly. It was just to get away from those Lizalfos. Sidon had swam south towards where the Divine Beast was sitting, and he’d swam up one waterfall to increase your elevation and make the trek up the mountain a bit simpler. He came to a stop at the edge of the river, panting but with a grin on his face afterwards.
“How exciting! I know I shouldn’t be happy about being caught in a dangerous scenario, but you must admit the adrenaline rush is a joy to experience, young one,” he sighed happily, and you rested your head on his with a smile on your face.
Very slowly, you slid off of his back and sat on the river bed instead, soaked in water but not really caring. Not a second after you’d sat down, however, you were once again interrupted in the middle of your travels.
A snorting sound could be heard, and you turned your head only to see a tall silver Moblin walking over with a dragon bone club in his hands. “Shit…” you cursed, quickly standing up and drawing your sword.
Sidon pulled himself out of the water to stand beside you as well, holding his spear out cautiously. “Shall we run once more? Or take on this enemy head on?” he asked you, and the time to make a decision lessened as the Moblin stomped towards you angrily.
“It’s just one Moblin, how difficult could this be?” you reply with a shrug of your shoulders.
The answer was very difficult. Because of course it wasn’t just one silver Moblin like you’d assumed.
It was three.
You and Sidon had tried to work together to fight them, standing back to back as you defended yourselves from these monsters. But when the third Moblin swipes at you, you have to dodge out of the way quickly, meaning you’re now separated from the prince.
Your nerves spiked up, and for a moment you panicked. You had to remind yourself that Sidon was not only a prince, but a trained warrior and soldier. He could handle his own against idiotic Moblins that simply flailed their clubs around.
You found yourself sparring with one of the moblins, and it was simple enough, all you had to do was time your strikes right and dodge his swings. After a few slices with your trusted sword, your enemy was down, and disappearing into a cloud of black smoke.
And then you turn on your heel, and feel your heart stop.
You turn just in time to see Sidon get slammed in the gut with two clubs at the same time from both Moblins he was facing- and be sent tumbling towards the ground.

Sebbie my dear I hope you enjoyed that little gift I left on the reblogged post from last night (lol). I honestly couldn't help myself, the words "Rhett Abbott" and "breeding kink" will always have my full and undivided attention (lol).
I was gonna wait a little bit to send this one in, but I was thinking about it all day long and couldn't get it out of my head.
It's no secret that Preacher!Rhett is a breeder, that man's sperm are practically invincible!!!! (lol). You guys are on like your fifth or sixth kid and you absolutely LOVE making all those gossipy church girls jealous.
Even though Rhett breeds you like you wouldn't believe, you can't get over how soft he is with the babies. The older ones who are old enough to know will sometimes ask about the pictures on the wall in the church that show the moments leading up to Jesus's death and ressurection. Rhett never tells them in a way that would traumatize them, but he'll kinda just explain it in a way that they'll understand.
Your littlest girl definitely gets scared of thunderstorms during the summer and fall so you find her sneaking into your room more often than not to snuggle with you and Rhett (she's always got her little lamb lovey with her as well as her stuffed lamb she named "Baba"). Rhett can hardly stand to see his little lamb's little lamb scared so he'll just snuggle her and tell her, "don't worry princess, it's just the angels bowling".
But the one moment you always remember is when Rhett got to hold your youngest baby for the first time. Dallas was a safe-haven preemie baby who had been left on the doorstep of the church (Rhett was stressing himself out because it was confirmation week for the high school students and you had stayed to help get the church ready). After you two had rushed him to the hospital, you and Rhett would spend hours and hours visiting him every day in his little incubator. He was all wrapped up in a blankie and only his little feet would poke out so Rhett would sometimes tickle Dallas's tiny little feet.
When he was strong enough to come out of the incubator and be held, you caught a close up picture of Dallas's tiny little hand curled around the little cross Rhett wore (it had his grandfather's name engraved on it and everything). When Dallas was officially adopted, it was on the day he was getting discharged from the hospital and when you and Rhett brought him home, Rhett was constantly doing skin-to-skin contact with the little one to keep him warm.
"You are so precious my little one," he'd say in that low, deep voice of his as he's putting the little one to sleep. "You, your brothers, sisters and your momma. My tiny angel, you're a gift unto this family."
Sebbie I promise I will have some thots soon enough, I just.....I'm so soft for this lately, I can't help it!!! (lol).
ah my love! all of this is just so so perfect! seriously! i love thinking about the softer side of preacher rhett and his little ones. please don’t worry at all! i love this so much 🥹 thank you so much for this! mwah! 💌💗

Chapter two: Ice, Ice, frostbite
Waking up in the freezing cold, the last thing you'd expect to be chased by would be a monster from Twilight princess. Where are we?
Warning: Mention of frostbite. chased by a monster, mentions of needles and hospitals.
。☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━━━★✼☆。
"Mama?" a child with white hair in a hospital room asked, playing with some blocks on the rug brought in by a nurse. The woman with her hair in a one neat bun (now messy due to stress) and a cardigan looked towards her child. "Why can't I go to Lisa's?" [Reader] asked their mother, who bite her lip nervously.
"Well. . . You aren't well enough to play with Lisa, [Reader]." Mother said, mustering a smile, heart hurting as she watched her child's face fall. "I have an early Christmas gift for you!" she said suddenly, leaning down to her purse and pulling out a box. "I know it's early but. . . you have been such a good. . . good. . . Good child." she said, letting a sob escape her lips. [Reader] looked worried, but mother wiped a stray tear and got down to [Reader]'s level.
"Merry Christmas, [Reader]." Mother said, placing the box down, mindful of the IVs and heart monitor attachments on her child as she placed it near [Reader]. [Reader] smiled, eyes full of joy and innocence, unaware of the reason why such scary needles had to stay in their arms, not knowing why they were excluded from others. . .
Opening the box, [Reader] gasped seeing a game console. Pulling it out, the Nintendo 64 with several scratches and visible signs of use rested in [Reader]'s arms. "A game! A real game!" they yelled in excitement, laying it on the rug, [Reader] stood and rushed to mother and hugged her, repeating "I love you! I love you!" and an endless amount of thank yours. Mother hugged [Reader] back tightly, holding back tears.
"How about we set it up and we can plY your first game. See?" Mother suggested, holding out a game cartridge with the words 'Ocarina of Time' on it. "Lets have some fun. . ."
»»————- ★ ————-««
[Reader] awoke slowly, the voice of their mother when they were 6 fading away in their head. They warmth of sleep suddenly snapped away from them, and [Reader] jolted, holding their arms and opening their dark eyes. Goosebumps shot up immediately and they curled up, teeth chattering. Why was it so cold? it felt as if they had been laying on ice.
[Reader] stood and looked around. The reason they had been so cold was because they were surrounded by think sheets of ice, walls, floors, even torchs and a faded portrait covered in ice, a massive hold in what seemed ro be the roof, wood and stood poking out through the ice and a blizzard blowing outside. They looked around and, when their eyes met the door, dashed over and slammed into the door, with the ice cracking but not breaking.
[Reader] hit the door once more, and then again until the door swung open into a room not covered ceiling to floor in ice, but still cold. [Reader] shut the door and immediately rushed to a nearby fireplace, pulling out a lighter from their bag in a tush, dropping things on the floor in the rush and spraying some lighter fluid on the wood and lighting it, fire erupting and soon, warmth re-entered their chilled body.
[Reader] relaxed, taking deep breaths and trying to warm up best they could before looking around at the items they dropped. They moved around, grabbing dropped items and returning them to their backpack, before stopping at the familiar journal from highschool, fingertips just barely touching the cover before grabbing it, but not putting it in the bag, instead, putting their most recent notebook in their bag, and then returning to the fire. [Reader] took their camcorder from their hip holder and opened the side panel to look at it, seeing if it still worked. Seeing the battery was still full, they sighed in relief and closed it.
"Better keep that for emergencies. . ." [Reader] Muttered, looking into the fire.
Silence filled the hall they rested in, aside from the howling winds outside and the crackle of the fire. This wasn't a place underground. This place seemed abandoned yet a place made for someone rich, not the Waterworks, a place made ro create heat for a kingdom's castle and town or to create weapons. [Reader] looked around, expecting more evidence of damage, but their eyes widened when they noticed the suit of Armour near the wall in the middle of the hall.
"No way. . ." They said, standing up and leaving their bag and rushing over in it, wide eyes and standing in front of the monstrous Armour suit. [Reader] opened the journal and flipped page after page till they reached the page. The page held the darling of the same set of Armour. . .
"How is this possible?" [Reader asked themselves, biting their lip and bouncing their leg as they read the tile of the monster within the same Armour set.
ꜱɴᴏᴡᴘᴇᴀᴋ: ᴅᴀʀᴋʜᴀᴍᴍᴇʀ
" This-" [Reader] dropped their journal, shaking but not because of the temperature "This has to be something I breathed In in the Waterworks! Yea!, that's gotta be it! It's just an illusion!" In an attempt to wake up, [Reader] slapped themselves in the face, hissing in pain, eyes screwed shut, hopeing to wake up on the stone floor of the underground. . . only to open their eyes, looking at the Dark hammer Armour.
"No. . . no no no no!" They exclaimed, running over to their bag and throwing it over their shoulder, rushing back and grabbing their journal before pausing. [Reader], stood up, and started to pace. "Okay. . . okay. . . You chase after a shadow monster that looked like dark like, suckered punched it, then end up here. I must be high, I gotta be." They muttered, about ready to cry "This isn't real. This isn't real-"
CRASH
[Reader] paused, and slowly turned to the opposite door than the one in the iced room. the sounds of heavy footsteps and something even heavier than the footsteps being thrown around was heard, and fear decided to make a nest in [Reader]'s stomach.
"I gotta get outta here!" They exclaimed, and a scream erupted from their throat as Darkhammer smashed through the wall with a large weapon, a massive hammer, and [Reader] immediately ran to the ice door, trying to open it as Darkhammer began to approach. The door has refrozen shut, and [Reader] turned and dropped down fast enough for the hammer to sweep over their now curled body, another scream ripping from their throat as they ran around the monster in Armour.
[Reader] slid across the shiny floors of what they could now say with full confidence was Snowpeak ruins and scrambled up, running away through the halls as Dark hammer reared after them. It didn't make sense, Link defeated Darkhammer in Twilight Princess! Why is there another?! Was there another left in the ruins after the sick experiments made on them- No, that was only a theory! but still!-
Suddenly, they felt something heavy and large hit them hard on the back and [Readrr went flying, hitting the wall and flying through as they felt their spine crack. Screaming in pain, they fell a floor down and hit hard wood and ice. Drunk on adrenaline, [Reader] scrambled up, the pain of a broken spine gone temporarily ad they recognized the foyer of Snowpeak, and at the sight of Dark hammer appearing, they turned and ran for the exit, sliding on the ice as the threw themselves onto the door, falling into the outside blizzard and down stone steps.
They ran. Ran as fast as they could through thick snow and the steep mountainside for some unknown period of time until the adrenaline wore off and tears froze to [Reader]'s skin is they cryed in pain.
The mountain top must have been impossibly freezing, as [Reader] couldn't have been out for long, but their fingertips were already alarmingly blue, signs of violent frostbite all over their body as they shook and shivered before finally their body caved, falling in the thick snow, feeling exhaustian taking over, ans sudden heat envelop their body.
[Reader] shut their eyes, to tired to fight it now, letting their body shut down, not feeling the fact they were now slowly sliding down the slope. . .
»»————- ★ ————-««
Warmth. There was. . . warmth. Was this death? Well, Death was surprisingly warm. Maybe they had brought their frostbite to hell with them, because there was no way that they were going to Heaven after they turned all of their ex-boyfriend's clothes inside out and hung them back in his closet then Changed all the passwords to his streaming sites. Or were people allowed in heaven after doing all that petty shit?
. . .
Nah, They found humor in dark jokes. They were in hell.
However, if they were dead. . . why did it feel like they had a weighted blanket on them? why could they hear the sounds of cutlery and a fire?
[Reader] groaned, face crunching up as their entire body felt sore, then opening their eyes.
They saw the wooden parts of a roof, and a light coming from what could only be assumed to be a fire place. They slowly turned their head, whinging in pain, catching the attention of a little boy. The child, who had sharp ears and green eyes, stood up and ran to someone. "Mother! Mother! The gray person is awake!"
In a few seconds, a woman with big breast and a motherly look in her green eyes appeared, looking so concerned and holding a bottle of red liquid. "Oh godesses, are you alright? My son and his friends found you floating down the canals near Castletown so my husband and I brought you here. Worst case of frostbite I'd ever seen in my life." The lady help [Reader] sit up, who hissed in pain and held their head in pain. "You must have been up in Snowpeak mountains for an alarming amount of time! And in such thin clothing-"
"It's a skin condition." [Reader] Inturupted. "I have a condition where my pigments are all jacked up so I look funky." [Reader] hated how they looked, a by-product of their rare condition caused by heavy pollution in cities. The woman looked concerned by didn't push for answered. She held out the potion
"Here dear." the woman said "It's a healing potion. It will help heal your spine, won't do nothin' 'bout that frost bite though. You'll have to wait that part out." [Reader] paused before taking the liquid and drinking it. The taste wasn't bad, but wasn't too good either, making [Reader]'s face scrunch up in discomfort but soon, a warm feeling went down their spine as they felt the pain in their spine vanish. The woman smiled. "There. Isn't that much better?"
"What's your name?" [Reader] asked, looking up at the woman, "My name is [Reader].
"Lucina." she said "And my son's name is Philip. He's around 7 now. Such a bright young man."
[Reader] smiled and looked over before seeing Philip looking at a journal, looking awestruck. "Hey! Don't look through that!" they exclaimed, making Lucina turn and rush over in alarm.
"Don't go through other people's stuff!" Lucina scolded Philip, who turned red, and sharp elf ears pointed down, much like a kicked puppy's would.
"Miss?" His voice asked, the child standing and watching his mother return the book. "What is that? Why are there drawings? and letters I cannot reader?"
[Reader] paused, mulling their words over. These people had been nothing but kind to them, and if they told these two about her situation, they'd surely be in trouble. "I. . . uuh. I am a historian!" [Reader] said, being honest about that "I come from another land and I prefer writing in my home language! See, my team and I, we were exploring the mountains of my home and something attacked us and the next thing I know, I am here."
Lucina looked taken aback, ears perking up, but Philips interest was peaked. "What's a historian?" He asked, standing at [Reader]'s bedside. [Reader] patted his head, "A historian is someone who learns and studies about the past, so we can learn about the people and their lives before us, and not make the same mistakes as them."
Philips eyes widened in shock, but stars appeared within his green eyes. Lucina bit her lip. "You know. . . Not to long ago a neighbor of mine went missing, and a stranger claiming to be from a 'great sea' appeared. They calmed they saw a shadow portal and fell through it."
"That's what I saw!" [Reader] exclaimed. "Where are they! Maybe they can help me get home! And find that shadow-" They paused, suddenly remembering. "Philip, bring me my bag." they said in alarm.
Philip went over and carried [Reader]'s bag to them, [Reader] taking it and placing it on their lap and rummaging through before pulling out-
"What is that?" Lucina asked in alarm stepping back.
[Reader] looked up at Lucina. "Not a clue. See, before I got separated from my group, we were. . . moving to a temple in the high mountains. I found this somewhere else and we wanted to see how this item and that place was connected. But this shadow that looked like a man in a tunic appeared and tryed to take it. Now I've ended up here. . ."
Lucina paused, thinking about her next words as [Reader] put the item back in her bag. "You know. . . I think I heard from Mondo that the person that claims their from a 'Great Sea' was sent to the docter in Kakarico, as their docter is better at fixing people's heads. If you need answers, you should head there and speak to them."
[Reader pondered for a bit before smiling and nodding. "I think I will. Thank you for telling me. I will leave and get outta your hair as soon as possible."
"Oh no, at least stay for breakfast tomorrow." Lucina said "You've had a rough few days, it's the least I can do."
"Are you sure?" [Reader] asked. "I have no money worth anything here, and I don't have anything of value to you."
"Well, I must say-" Lucina moved to stir up the fire. "Wherever you are from, they must not be to friends. I don't want anything in return, I just wanna know that you are alright."
[Reader] smiled at the hospitality of Lucina, a warmth enveloping their heart. . .
»»————- ★ ————-««
"Are you sure you have to leave?" Philip asked after breakfast the next morning, clutching the [Reader]'s green sweater.
"I do. I have overstayed my welcome and I must find a way home." They said, patting Philip's head, who hugged their leg. [Reader] looked up "Thank you for everything, I truly appreciate it. I won't ever forget your hospitality."
"It is nothing." Lucina said with a smile, beckoning Philip over "I'm a tad bit sad to see you go, but I understand you have family waiting worried sick you have to find. You travel safe okay? There is enough bread to last two days which should get you to Kakarico. don't eat it all in one sitting."
"But it's delicious!" [Reader] jokingly whined. It was indeed the best they had ever had. Lucina made a face and [Reader] laughed. "Seriously, thank you for everything. I hope life treats you well. I must be going." but [Reader] paused. They had never been good at goodbyes.
"You stay safe." Lucina said, "Now go, it's dangerous at night. Maybe we will meet again. Now go."
[Reader] smiled and turned, walking away, turning to wave goodbye, Philip waving goodbye in his mother's arms. "Goodbye! Thanks for everything!" they yelled, before turning forward, and exiting the alleyway to the stone streets. . .
