for non tagalog speakers, this lyric is supposed to say "how can a dick like you" but dick in tagalog doesn't mean it's an insult?? "tite" (spelled "titi" here) literally means penis. but then the "mo" (your) is also used incorrectly??? so the lyric literally translates to, "how can a your penis rule the country?"

hhng i think about being an actual out nonb filipino someday and like idk how it’d even work!!! bc there’s only ate (f) and kuya (m) and while ate doesnt really bother me bc i respond to it even more than i do to my actual name i still would really like to have a concrete word that’s like “i’m not female!! i’m nonbinary AND i’m filipino and those can coexist and i can be respected with an honorific and my real gender”! and i’ve already made a post about the issue w tito/tita (bc the typical “e is neutral” rule does not work here. “tite” means penis. i hated typing this parenthetical) so what if my siblings have kids what will they call me? no matter what they choose i’ll be misgendered, normally i’d rather go w the masc than the fem if i had to choose but here it truly doesnt fit. ig bc this has “higher stakes”, like “no matter what you have to choose between honoring your heritage or being shoved into the binary”. bc i’ve seen tons of english gender-neutral family terms and i actually like some of them but i don’t want to use english within my own family, we always use tagalog honorifics and i just want to be able to be referred to with them too!! and idk where i’m going with this but i just. want to be able to be filipino and nonbinary at the same time without sacrificing one or the other to feel okay

Random thoughts on Naruto, because I'm so 200-late on watching this show

Because I only had enough brain cells to follow one (1) long AF shounen anime series at a time and because I was curious about why people were ripping on Orihime so damn much, I hopped into the Bleach train and...well. :)

I somehow found out Naruto is the fourth best selling manga of all time in Japan which... wow, ok, I'm intregued, I wanna know why this is 👀 so I'm half-way into season 2 and so far, I have Some Thoughts(tm):

*Naruto is loud AF OMG. It's like if Joey Wheeler were the protagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh, except Joey is like Seto Kaiba compared to him.

*it's appropriate that his signature move at the very beginning of the series was Sexy no Jutsu and I laughed because deep down I'm a 12 year old boy.

*I accidentally spoiled the reveal about how the fic demon was sealed into him and by whom, but even without knowing that, poor kid got such a saw deal at life. It's become a meme at this point about his single-minded goal, but the reason why he wants it is so sad. He just wants not to be shunned. :(

*Sasuke really is That Emo(tm) 🤣

*They're both really That Obsessed(tm) with each other.

*They both have had flashbacks to the other and they both include this scene.

*That's probably why the manga remains so damn popular

*So far, I'm still not getting the Sakura hatred at all, but I will say it's clear the author hates her and probably Ino waaaaaay more than Kubo Tite ever hated Orihime

*I mean, their friendship ended over penis. PENIS!

*Speaking of which, their rivalry is extremely underrated. I just watched their fight in the Chonin exam today and left outta it rooting for them to hopefully move past this dumb shit cuz they're the only two who are gayer for each other than NaruSasuNaru

Overall, it's a decent enough series once you get into season two and they get going for their Ninja exams, I give it a 6.5/10 👍
