sometimes I'm like "okay so that was just a terrible auto-translation, I'm sure she didn't actually write that" and then I look at the page and it's a sentence I can read unassisted and she did actually write that

#i cannot fully blame google for the weird prose! ive said this before and ill say it so many times again but #this book feels so unfinished #so inconsistent #youll have a chapter with 0 description of the world followed by a chapter with no insight from the pov character #ironstone's voice just sounds like jasper??#wait is his name ironstone? idr idc about him #whatever #and im gonna make several whole posts about this but she introduces SO MANY fascinating plotlines and ideas #then does absolutely nothing with them #it's very frustrating #i keep thinking about that arakawa comic thats like #'roy mustang was raised in a brothel' - 'can you elaborate on that?' - 'no:)'#except she did that bc the story was about the elrics not mustang #the abandoned plots are very very much about the central characters in this #it's. it's like she thought writing a fourth book would be so much fun. told everyone she was doing it.#sold it and got put on a deadline. then realized it was not as much fun or as satisfying to write as she thought it would be #but couldnt back out and just hit publish once she hit the required word count #it's not a bad book at all but it's a bad cornelia funke book ykwim lol #says kenna #kenna reads tcor
