Rewind - Prologue

“All I wanna say is this, I’m tired. And I know what I’m doing is cowardly and weak, especially since I’ve pushed you guys to not go through it. It’s hypocritical really.

"And Im sure you guys are confused; a girl who has everything she’s ever wanted to ever do this. ‘She looks happy, she’s beautiful, she has a bright future in front of her.’

"But the question is, am I really happy? What I show and what I really feel are two very different things. I feel alone, lost and so-so depressed. I guess I should’ve pursued an acting career since I’ve deceived you and myself into believing that I was, huh?” She laughed without a sense of humor in it.

“Yes, I’ve wanted this. I basically did this to myself. I threw my friends and my family under the bus to chase after my own dream. I’ve always thought that if I had it under my grasp, I wouldn’t feel lost anymore.

"I pushed everyone away thinking that they were only holding me back. Oh, how wrong I was.

"After I got everything I’ve ever wanted, I begin to feel lost; more than I’ve ever felt before. What do you do after you got everything?

"So the more I ask myself, the more confused I got. But at that point, I was too late already. I lost everyone I’ve ever loved.

"So to my fans, I would like to say sorry for this. It’s just a little bit much for me and I couldn’t take it anymore. You were the reason for my happiness but unfortunately, you were also the reason for my misery. I forgot about my happiness because I was consumed - too addicted - on making you guys happy that I forgot to take care of myself. So I’m sorry, and I love you.

"To my mom, I’m sorry that I called you just now. I wanted to hear your voice for the last time before I go. You were angry at me for only calling now when I should’ve a long time ago. I was just so scared of how you’d react if I did. But today, I was brave.. brave enough to call you at least. But then, you said that you forgave me and my heart constricted at how easy it was for you. I don’t deserve your forgiveness, especially now that I’m doing something that might hurt you a lot. It would’ve been better if you hated me. It would’ve been easier and you would feel less guilty. But sadly, that wasn’t enough for me. It’s not that your love wasn’t enough, it’s the fact that I wasn’t. This isn’t your fault, please know that. I made this decision last week - actually, for the past year - but I’m just going through with it today. So mom, please don’t blame yourself for this. I love you and I always will; even if I’m not physically there. I’m sorry and I love you.

"Dad, I didn’t get to listen to your voice because you were working when I called mom. You know it’s dangerous right? As much as you hate hearing this, you’re old already,” she says with a sad smile, “you really don’t have to work at the construction site anymore. I provided everything for you. Even if I stopped talking to you guys, it doesn’t mean that I stopped caring. So please, for my sake, stop working..”

A tear rolls down her cheeks and she let it. She scoffs, “Its funny how I care about your life but not enough to care about mine.

"Sofi, my dearest little sister. I really don’t know what to say to you and it’s totally my fault. Oh God, how I missed you. So fucking much. Oh wait, don’t curse.. You’re still 14. Oh how much a few years could change. Just please promise me one thing, don’t ever do the things I did.

"I feel so stupid and such a hypocrite. When I was 17, naive and innocent, all I ever said and quoted was love heals all and it’s all you’ll ever need. But now, at the age of 25, I finally realized that it was harder than anything else I’ve ever encountered. It’s hard to love people consistently. Life came to me in that span of seven years and managed to change my way of thinking.

"That was another thing I felt.. I felt unloved.

"I know the fans love me, I really do. But is it at a personal level? Do they love me to that extent? Because everyone who knows me personally has either run away or hate me at the end of the day.

"I don’t blame you guys though. If I was you, I wouldn’t love myself either. Hell, I don’t right now.

"So yeah, Sofi… as much as I hate to say this, we both know it’s the truth; we don’t know each other anymore. I got busy with the job and singing in general that I forgot to be the sister I wished I could and should be. And for that, I blame myself. I’m sorry and I love you.”

A brown-leathered book came to view. She flips over the papers, finding the right page.

She pauses when she found it, taking a deep breathe before reading out loud, “This might be a little weird, considering we’re not technically friends anymore. But I want to address them because I feel like they are the ones I need to apologize the most.

"Ally, I wanna say I’m sorry for letting you down. We were basically family and I abandoned you for my own sick drive to pursue a dream I’m not even sure I want anymore. I’m sorry and I love you.

"Normani… I really don’t know what to say to you except I’m sorry. You were always mad for my own selfishness and I ignored you. You were hurt and you felt as if I used you. And as much as I hate to admit it, indirectly, I did. I just didn’t realize it sooner. I stepped on you when all you did was help me. You felt like you were a stepping stone but you weren’t; you’re not. I was just blind and didn’t assure you. The fact that I left the group didn’t help our friendship either. But my mindset was that you were just jealous of me so I didn’t care in patching our friendship up. But boy was I wrong. I should’ve seen that it was more about me than you. I’m sorry and I love you.

"Dinah Jane. China. Cheechee. My sister from another mother. You’ve been with me from the start and sided with me even when the others stopped. I wanna thank you for that but honestly, that is the stupidest thing you could have done for me. I really don’t deserve you - especially after I left you and the girls. But I really appreciate it; I really do. You even tried talking to me after I left, but I ignored you. I cry myself at every night for that decision. I just thought that you deserved better; I didn’t want to hold you back - especially since I was moving on alone. So just promise me this; Never hold anything back for the ones you love, be selfish for once and take care of yourself instead. You are so selfless that it hurts me just watching you letting people step over you. I’m sorry and I love you.”

Her tears were flowing effortlessly now. She’s not even holding anything back anymore, too consumed with emotion. She took a sharp, yet shaky, breath. She flipped over the pages, searching for the last message.

She looked at the lens, her eyes bloodshot from the crying, her beautiful face covered in tears.

“Lauren..” she started, looking back at the book, only to frown at whatever’s written on it.

“I don’t think I can really say what I want to through all the words written on these pages. It looks impersonal and that’s the last thing I want to show you. I’ve written this back a week ago for about 9 hours. I mean, look at these,” She brought her journal up to show incoherent sentences, “5 freaking pages of what I initially wanted to say but it’s still not enough. That’s how it was with us; I was never enough for you. But still you gave me your heart, only to be crushed by my own selfish interest in pursuing something I’ve dreamt of since I was a kid. That’s not what I’m sorry about; What I was though was the fact that I could’ve chased and shared that dream along with you and the girls. But I was too selfish; I was too greedy for fame that I forgot that you guys were there before everything happened.

"We fought, we cried. We loved, we kiss. We did everything together and I really wanna say thank you for that. I never regretted what we had and what we did, but I do regret the fact that we ended at a sour note. Actually, I regret the fact that we ended, period.”

“If I could turn back time, I would. I wouldn’t have accepted this life if I had known that this was how it was gonna end.”

She threw her book across the room, seemingly angry at herself. The balls of her hands went to her eyes as she sobs through the eerily quiet room. Her voice echoed through the room while she cried.

“I just.. I ju-just thought that it was best for me. I felt like everyone was shoving me to chase after my dream that I forgot about you; how could I forget about the love of my life? Ho-how could I forget about my fucking soulmate?

"Fucking useless piece of shit,” she said, her hand now banging her head repeatedly.

“I’m such a fucking idiot,” She self-depreciatingly said, still banging her head. She looked so weak and so.. done.

“I’m sorry.. I’M SO-SO SORRY. I, um… tried to call you today but you didn’t answer. I wanted to hear your voice for the last time; even if you just shout throughout the phone call. I was desperate, longing for your voice. But you wanna know what hurts? The fact that you couldn’t even be bothered to be angry at me anymore. The fact that you couldn’t even click the green button displayed on the phone to shout condescending words at me. It was like I wasn’t even worth your time.

"Which is pretty much true, I’m not worth it. I’m just a piece of shit. I’m not for you. I never will be and it’s time that I should realize that.

"You wanna know some sad shit? Well, since I couldn’t hear your voice for the last time, I decided to compromise by watching our old interviews. The one where you talked intensely and I was just staring at you with an open mouth, so entranced by your words and passion. I really don’t remember the name of the interview,” she laughed softly for the last time, “But never lose that please, even if people say that you look like a bitch.

"Never lose yourself, you still have the 3 girls so please don’t push them away like I did. They are somewhat the light of your future at the end of the day.

"Also, never think lowly of yourself. You wasted your time on me because you thought I was at the same level as you. But know this.. Don’t lower yourself like you did with me. You are worth more than that and it’s time that you realize it. I treated you like trash and still, you accepted it with open arms. Don’t do that anymore; I don’t think I could live with myself knowing that you thought you are a piece of garbage.

"You are a work of art; sculptured perfectly from head to toe. Every curves on your body carved perfectly by whoever made you. You’re priceless. I only have one thing to ask from you and that is to trust me at this; trust me when I say this because all of these are from the bottom of my tainted heart.”

She looked down, her body shaking from her caged cries. It got too emotional for her.

“I’m sorry.. And I love you, forever.”

The video turns pitch black after that, indicating that she ended the recording at that.

It’s been 7 days since this video was released and I still couldn’t believe that Camila killed herself.

They were searching for her since she was unreachable for 2 days straight and came to her hotel room, only to find her hanging by some type of robe tied to the fan attached on the ceiling.

Everything went crazy after that. The medias were filled with questions and assumptions of how she died.

They found the video the day after that, releasing it publicly for people to watch as the, 'last words of the late Camila Cabello.’

Fucking money-driven fuckers who couldn’t even let her die peacefully. They thought that the video was the last thing Camila could give for their own greedy selves.

After the video was released, people started buying her latest album more, making it Number 1 on the Billboards’ charts this week, the second being her first album.

The world became confused as they watched the video. She seemed so.. happy before the video came out. But I guess it’s because they don’t really know her. I should’ve seen the depression on her eyes. Now, looking back at her past interviews, I feel so stupid for not realizing that she needed help.

Guilt was one of the things I felt after watching that video for the first time. She was sad and mostly because I wasn’t there for her.

I still love her, of course I do. Like she said, we are soulmates. I wasn’t stupid enough to not know that. But I just felt like we weren’t made for each other. At least, not at that moment.

We were toxic. The more we loved, the more we hated each other. The more we come closer, the more we repel after that. It was crazy and we knew it. Our relationship was a paradox within itself and we couldn’t take it anymore.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t love her. I just thought that we needed time to find ourselves. But time was the thing that made her lose herself more.

So yeah, I feel guilty for even thinking that it was what she needed. I should’ve answered her call that night. It would’ve been our last conversation. But at least it would be one. Yes, the video I just watched is basically her talking to me. But it was one-sided; she never heard my side of the story.

If I answered, I could’ve at least try to convince her not to. I could’ve pleaded, begged, do everything I could to stop her. But now, it’s a little too late for that.

So here I am, watching the last message of her talking to the lens for the world to see, for the thousandth times.

It’s what I watch everytime I wake up and every night I try to sleep.

I know it’s crazy; watching a suicide video of her every moment I could, just to watch her for the last time. But I can’t stop myself. I feel like I’m such a masochistic asshole to myself for repeating the painful words she has said throughout the video. And everytime I watch it, it never failed to make my heart constrict painfully.

People say that time heals all. But as I watch that video repeatedly, it never really depleted from how I felt when I first watched it.

It was like time was at a pause. An endless loop of misery and unfortunately, I was at the receiving end of it.

Time can be a total bitch at times.

If only I could rewind time so I could stop her. Rewind time to the days where we were all happy to even be on stage in front of a few hundred people.

I would do everything I can to stop her. I know I can stop her. I just need the chance to.

That was my last thoughts before falling into deep slumber for the first time since Camila’s death.

But when I woke up, everything changed. I was 16 again, on an airplane, waiting for it to land where I planned on auditioning for The X-Factor.

I have the chance to save Camila.

Such a fucking depressing prologue. It was so hard for me to write and I don’t think I could re-read so I’m sorry for any mistakes.

This was just an idea so I don’t really know if I should continue or not. I just thought that it was better to write it down than letting it pass.

My family and I are just trying to get a ballpark idea of how much my sister's car insurance would go up if we made a claim on an accident she had. She was in a mall parking lot and pulled out to make a left turn. I think she didn't really see a car coming, but I also think the car was zipping around the lot at a too-fast speed. My sister got hit in her driver's door and needs a new door and the frame of the car needs pulled out. There are no witnesses to really show who's fault it is, and I think it's a little of both judging by how much damage there is on her car (the other driver had to be going fast). There is no damage on the other person's car. It costs about $1500 to get it fixed (just the bare minimum - a new door from a junkyard and fixing the frame, just to make it safe and sealed, there will still be some dents). We're debating on claiming it or not because there is a $500 deductible. She is 25 years old and hasn't had an accident before. My boyfriend drives my car occasionally and my full-coverage insurance will cover him and my car if he were to get in an accident.
