if you had to give sonic a different species than hedgehog what would it be? maybe related: if sonic himself made a sonicsona how would he design it?

mouse!!! mr needlemouse ftw- also there just aren't very many rodent characters and I think that's a shame bc they're adorable ^_^

as for what he'd choose.. hm. maybe like a dog? something cute and friendly like a golden retriever (but still blue hehe)! or maybe regular gold with blue streaks for the ultimate sparkledog aesthetic!! ... and idk if sonic himself would do this, but i'd give him the little backpack he sometimes had in sonic SatAM cause I always thought that was a fun choice! Also, maybe make his boots look like actual boots, with laces and all that jazz. He could even put little emblems/pins on them of some kind! possibly chaos emerald or lightning themed :)

Headless Headmistress Bloodgood redesign!

You are probably the right person to ask this! I've had this skull for I want to say some 25 years now. It was found in the woods in Illinois by a friend of the family and gifted to a preteen me. I go back and forth on if it's a long thin muzzled dog or a coyote, but I feel like you would know much better due to your general specialty.

It's always been this badly damaged and missing most of the teeth, no idea how long the family friend had it before gifting it to me. There's a round hole in the right parietal and a corresponding hole just above the basisphenoid (I think those are the right terms, forgive me it's been like 15 years since I was in bio and that's the best I can do with looking it up). I'm 99% certain that's from a gunshot, but no idea at what range or caliber it could have been.

This is actually really a interesting skull! Illinois would imply this is a Northeastern coyote (C. l. thamnos) but it doesn't look like the standard Northeastern skull. It has a really tall sagittal crest for a canid that size, coyotes don't typically have crests that high unless they're extremely large or have some dog/wolf admixture. It defiantly looks more coyote than dog to me, but I'd say it likely has some dog or wolf admixture. That canine tooth looks more dog-like to me than coyote-like since dogs tend to have more wide and blunt teeth than coyotes do. I think you could safely call it an Eastern coyote (C. l. "var.") since the Eastern and Northeastern coyotes have some crossover ranges :0!
