2: least favorite fic you wrote this year

There are 2: Gravity and Sunshine (two of my earliest fics for requests) I just don’t like how they turned out, they weren’t quite what I wanted but...I wasn’t sure what to do to fix them either at the time. I might rewrite Sunshine one day but for now I’ll just let it die lmao 

6: least popular fic this year

The actual least popular is Gravity, which is fine because I don’t like it and I should just delete it. The least popular that I like a lot is probably foraoise, which i get ‘cause it’s Ateez and I don’t write for them much but it’s a damn shame because I liked the concept a lot haha (also in laudem maleficus which i also get cause....red velvet....but it’s cool)

there’s actually a lot of fandoms i’ve not written in!!!! it really depends on how much i love the characters & how much content is out there already lol

26. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?

skdjhflsdlfsd erratically! My primary purpose in coming up with a title is setting the memory hook for what the fic is about, because i have SHIT memory esp re: my own writing. So like, “Cultivation No. 6,” because the plant shop is central to the whole story! “Bite the Hand (that starves you)” is about hands that ought to care for you but maybe don’t and paying dues that maybe aren’t yours to pay (& revolting against it) so Katakuri & his mommy issues. “Homecoming” because they all come home and they all come ‘cause it’s a gangbang :D “that’s the kind of love” is the fuckiest hozier song so obviously that’s a gangbang too. "Narcissistic” is the water god gangbang ‘cause narcissus in chinese is like, “water spirit.”

oh on a practical level i love giving english & chinese titles! ‘cause once i get one phrase in mind i can riff off it and get the other. i think titles are where i get my most hashtag-deep lololol so uh, i think there’s shit to analyze b/t my fic content & the fic titles LMAO. in case anyone ever wants to hit me with an english essay.

50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?

reading.... i don’t actually remember!! I started reading fics when I was like, 12 or 13 lol, and it was probably all anime fics.... Probably naruto if we’re gonna be honest?? most likely i was just searching up things and then things started coming up and then i was like “wait a minute this is a new story...” which is how most people start reading fic i think

and as for writing, by sheer force of egotism lolololol. I def started writing self-inserts, mostly because I wanted to populate the worlds & occupy the characters that i loved so much. funnily enough, i think the first fic i ever wrote was for saiunkoku, a.k.a. the anime that was based off of ancient China...! so I’ve been destined for c-fandom my whole life....

Alright, here’s my list of recommended fics you super awesome humans. 

As I said in my other post, writers helping writers is awesome so I’m so happy to tell you some of the fics I’ve read that I love. Go show these amazing people some love for the time and effort they have put in to create wonderful fics. Any fics I mention have been read by me (multiple times with some), and I totally recommend them. 

I’m gonna do this in a few ways, first off, I’ll section Archive of Our Own separately to FanFic.net, just to make it easier for me to grab the links. Ao3 has a nifty little thing where you can see your reading history so I can grab them from there, with FF, I need to go through and find them, pray for me lololol.

I’ll also be separating the Boondock Saints ones and Daryl ones, just for your ease, if you're only interested in one and not the other. The Daryl ones are only on Archive, because I haven't really read any over on FF for some reason, don't ask me why, I just haven't.

They’re not in any particular order, just as I see them, I'll grab them.

These aren’t all the fics I’ve read, some of the ones I love have been deleted by the writer, which breaks my heart honestly, and some of them I just can't remember.

Archive of Our Own [Boondock Saints]

- One of Three 

I really like this one and you guys should really check it out.

Author Summary; She had cocooned herself, letting routine and safety run her life. After everything she knew it wasn't much of one, and because she decided to do the right thing her life's about to hit a tailspin in some of the worst and most fantastic ways.

This is a Murphy/OC/Connor story and it’s amazing.

- Boondock Saints OC Arc

This ones a little different because it's not set out like the usual fic. Its an arc and some bits have one chapter, one of arcs even has 36. They all follow the same storyline and it flows like a normal fic, the author has just chosen to post it this way, and it works.

Author summary; The story of one girl's first up close and personal encounter with one of the brothers on a late-night subway.The 1st story in my Boondock Saints OC story arc.

This is a Murphy/OC/Connor fic, and it's one of my favs honestly, I've read it all numerous times.

Chapters; I can't give you an exact number with the way it's set out, but as I said, one arc alone has 36, so there's plenty to sink your teeth into.

- Everybody Knows

I love this one, it's short and sweet.

Author summary; Everybody knows exactly what Marissa needs to do to get over her recent breakup. She's spent the last month in mourning and her friends are ready for her to move on...

- Saints Alive

I looooove this one!

Author summary; Skid is once again on her own and she has to find a new place. Luckily for her, she knows a friend who knows a guy who knows of a place for free. Downside is it's in the South side of Boston where crime is rather terrible. Of course, with two Irish brothers as new next door neighbors, what's the worst that could happen?

As they attempt to bond, can she overcome her tainted old life and let down her walls? Especially with one extra problem: she's already pregnant.

If the username looks familiar, it's because I tag her in all of my shit and recently wrote her a BDS drabble for her birthday. She's an awesome human, so check her out :D

Now this one right here, I have probably read so many times I know it word for word, I’m not even kidding. This is very high on my list. The boys are written perfectly, I love every fucking thing about this one, and there's some very interesting hot and heavy shit along the way.  If you only read one fic of this list, it needs to be this one.

Author summary; Connor M./OC/Murphy M. BDS prequel/romance. What happens when you drink whisky with the boys? It's got it all: romance (as far as the boys can DO romance), fluff, hurt/comfort, plot, canon plus research. Rated for MacManus mouth, violence, & explicit three-way smut (no twincest). Note: The BDS belong solely to T. Duff

Chapters; Now it says 87, but the author has been reworking this fic so it's actually about 67 I think? I’m unsure, and the chapters are a little shorter than usual fics. It’s still amazing and a lot for you to immerse yourself in.

- Saints Angel

Another good one you need to check out.

Author summary; The Saints help to protect everyone in their city, but what if they had a protector of their own? In comes a woman, a hurt, young, lovely woman that was rescued by them, given a new life. To her, they are her boys and she will now do anything to protect them. She will become their Angel...forever to walk by their side...forever to watch over them.

Author summary; She is possessed by something evil and supernatural. They have been asked to help save her, to call upon their faith, but one of them is struggling to believe in anything anymore. If she can't be saved then they will be forced to kill her. Do they have the strength to do what they must? Can he believe in something again?

- His Walls

This one is so fucking good, it’s number two on my list of Daryl fics. I love how it starts off with young Daryl, they write him so well and exactly how I imagine him to be. It’s soooooo good guys, read it

Author summary; People build up walls, not to keep others out, but to see who cares enough to break them down. Truer words have never been spoken where Daryl Dixon was concerned. He never expected anyone to care enough, until someone did.

Starts out AU with 20 yr old Daryl, from Chapter 22 on out we'll be in the ZA-world.

M-rating for smut, language, adult topics, descriptions of abuse & attempted rape.

- Gorgeous

I hadn't actually read this one before, but I came across it when searching for ones I had read, and I fucking loved it. Young Daryl is my jam and this was so well written and just a good read. It’s a young Daryl AU, so the rest of the twd characters are in it too, like Rick his best friend, Maggie the readers best friend etc. 

Author summary; After meeting Daryl on the way home from a party the reader hatches a plan to get him to like her. But if it isn't friends and well-meaning King County citizens that tell her to stay away from him than it's Daryl himself, who's trying to keep his own feelings from coming to the surface.

- 357 Daryl Jerkin' It Drive

This one is a little different, this is a collection of works by the writer where they write not only about Daryl, but a lot of different characters Norman has played. As you can tell by the title, they’re all smut based, and well worth the read. It's also worth mentioning that the writer also has a tonne of other Daryl stories so make sure to head onto their profile to check everything else out, it would take too long to link them all here. Most of them are AU Daryl which I love and they're a really talented writer.

Author summary; none.

Chapters; it's hard to say since its a collection, most are one-shots but I know at least two of the works in there are nine chapters each.

- Night Stalker

Okay I lied, this is the same author as above and the next one is too because it's a sequel to this, but they're my favs by this author, I love them. They're a little dark and they're AU, but if you're like me, you'll love them. I recently recommended the sequel to this one to someone in my ask box.

Author summary; Daryl is mentally unstable, but functioning. He falls in love.

The sequel to the above story, I’m in love with it, read it now!

Author summary; Sequel to "Night Stalker". Daryl is improving under the care of his new nurse, Krissy. He is still confused by the hallucination, and why Krissy reminds him so much of Kristin.

Another AU Daryl story that is amazing.

Author summary; Redemption. It's a concept Daryl Dixon is completely unfamiliar with- but desperately needs. It lives in his dreams, where he's a hero among men in the zombie apocalypse... but that's not real life. Real life is sorrow, loneliness, and pain. Until he meets his beautiful neighbor- then its possibility, hope, and maybe a bullet to the brain.

Yet another amazing AU Daryl story. Are you sensing a theme here? Looool. I’m pretty sure this is the same author as His Walls that I recommended, but I’m too lazy to check. 

Author summary; -Abrasive. Yes, that description fit him perfectly. The guy smelled like trouble, and she knew he would get even more abrasive the longer she talked to him. Too bad she didn't care. -A pretty stranger that talked to him, knew his name and his place of work? In Daryl's book, that just couldn't be good news. AU - Daryl Dixon/OC, Explicit for language and sexual situations. Yes smut!

This is another fic I highly recommend you read. (Duh, or it wouldn't be on the list, God Sarah ur like so annoying) :’)

I know I keep saying I love the fics, but I do, clearly. This one though is another favourite of mine and you really need to read it. I love the dynamic between the OC and Daryl.

Author summary; Set between Seasons 2 and 3. Melissa Sheppard is alone in the ZA, but she was alone before the dead owned the earth. She prefers it that way. Boy, is she pissed when she gets back to her cabin to find it has been taken by strangers.

This is another I hadn't actually read until now when I was searching, I actually really loved it. It's full of smut and that's never a bad thing. It took me a couple of chapters to really get into it, but it's really worth the read.

Author summary; Daryl comes across Lucy (OC) in the woods and claims her for his own. The story begins during the Farmhouse era of the series.

Another one, just read it.

Author summary; After the Governor attacked the prison, the only person left in Daryl's shitstorm of a life was Judith. For Daryl, it's enough. Until he met her.

Holy shit, this fic is everything. It's AU pre-ZA and it's just the best. It's so good, I can't even put into words, very high on my list and it also has a sequel set in the ZA that’s 13 chapters long, please read it. If you like AU things, this is for you. The way they write Daryl in this, it's just gold. It’s also told in Daryl's POV which is just amazing.

Author summary; Several bodies are found in the area of a small town. In this town lives Daryl, the killer of all those people. The investigation goes on, the profile is made, and now the police and the FBI look for a specific type, a loner type, ... Daryl's type. He decides to find himself a roommate in an attempt to mislead the police. Let's see how that will turn out for him. AU pre-apocalypse horror story. Obviously very OOC Daryl.

Rated M for a good reason, violence, foul language, adult content... it's all there, consider yourself warned.

Okay, so this ones a little different. It's actually a Daryl/OC/Rick love triangle and I usually don't read Rick fics (loool that rhyme though) but this is a good fic.

Author summary; Thea Graham has lived in Alexandria for over a year and is happy being mostly invisible. This is what happens when she suddenly has the attention of two men.

- Running Wild

This story is number one on my list guys, this is right up there with His Walls. This is my number one fav Daryl fic of all time and I’ve read it so many fucking times it's unreal. This fic is life, it’s everything. If I could only read one fic over and over for the rest of my life, it would be this one.

Author summary; Four years have passed since their sanctuary at the prison fell at the hands of the Governor and the surviving members are now thriving at their new home just north of Atlanta. Out of the blue, late one afternoon, Daryl Dixon stumbles across someone they thought they'd lost long ago; a member of the Woodbury community that had returned with Rick to the prison.

Warning: This fic is quite a bit darker than my other ones. If you are looking for fluffy bunny, happy prancing unicorns and rainbow colored endings, this is not the story you are looking for.

That nifty history thing on Ao3 I mentioned, for some reason, quite a few weren’t there and I had to go through the fics to find them. Not every single one is on the list, that would take me fucking forever to do, but these are the best ones I've read.

Mint Eye was going to be destroyed on that day, that much all of them knew. They – of course – had their jobs to do, and human life depended on them. But whether or not the organization would survive, was already out of the question. It was deemed to fall today, to end all the pain it caused to the people inside.

Many times has he wondered, whether or not the people he saw on cameras came there of their free will. Whether it was their own choice that caused them do all of these awful things to those who didn’t want to obey their Savior.

The car finally stopped and they went out. They were still a bit far from the building, they could barely see it through the thick curtain of trees. According to the plan, he and Vanderwood were supposed to get in first and make sure to get out the innocent victims they knew of, and then the people hired by Jumin Han would arrive and take over the situation. Last but not least, the police would enter. 

It took him quite a while to convince Vanderwood to help them, but right now the man didn’t utter a word of complaint, focused on his task like nothing else. 

There were two innocent victims in this place, at least two they knew of: V and MC. And they had to get both of them safely out. The time was limited and they had to hurry. It was only reasonable to go separately.

The girl stared forward, at the wall. She wasn’t told to do anything, so she just stared, deep in her thoughts. What these thoughts were? No one would be able to tell. Maybe she was just daydreaming, imagining that the things went on differently?

Maybe, for these few moments, she was able to actually feel like she was in a different place? Was it giving her any relief? Or hope, at least?

No one would be able to tell, because her face was completely dull, only tired.

The door opened behind her and she flinched, curling up.

“You ready?” the irreverent voice echoed. She nodded hesitantly, turning around to look at the white-haired man in a suit. “Good. They should be here any second. You don’t really have to do anything, so it’s even better for you, yeah? It’s not like you’re of much use anyway, you can do as much as to sit here” the man mocked, but she didn’t find any strength in herself to reply. Her fists tightened though and her jaw clenched in a hopeless need of resistance.

Saeran didn’t say anything else and just left, letting her dwell on her sanity in silence. 

And the girl stared at the wall, counting seconds, once a while looking to the side, where the window was. She didn’t dare to look outside, afraid of seeing whom she didn’t want to be here.

It was a trap, Sevy. 

She wanted to scream it out. If the man came here, it wouldn’t end well for him. She somehow prayed the he wouldn’t, that he would change his mind, maybe let the police handle the whole thing and not engage just for her. 

If only she could use the messenger now. If only she could send him any kind of warning. But for her phone has been taken away long time ago, the outside world couldn’t hear her pleas.

She didn’t know how much time has passed before the door started to open once again, very slowly. The sound only made her shut her eyes tightly, as though to prevent tears from spilling out. She knew who it was even before the voice sounded out.

If he was here, then it was already too late.

Too late to save him.

“MC…? God, you’re here…” He stormed to his side, not even thinking of shutting the door.

Now she couldn’t stop crying. His voice was so relieved, but so oblivious.

Tears streamed down her cheeks when the man knelt by her side, gently taking her hand in his own. The gentle gesture was what she craved for so long, after being thrown around like a trash in this place. 

“Hey, hey, calm down. They can’t hurt you anymore” the man said, stroking the inside of her palm gently. 

“It’s not myself that I’m crying for” she uttered in a shaky voice, finally sparing him a pitiful glance.

The meaning of the words stayed unknown to him. His eyes slightly widened, trying to proceed what she wanted to say. 

He didn’t look up right away, when the door creaked behind his back. She didn’t dare to, either. 

But once the weirdly familiar voice echoed behind his voice, he knew that their plan has failed.

“It’s a game over, Saeyoung.”

He could only pray for Jumin’s people to arrive soon.

[1/7] jungle park was so good!!!! hoseok is especially so cute but hot at the same time. serious and professional hoseok is alright but CHEESY ROMANTIC HOSEOK STOLE MY HEART!!!!!!! I love his flirtatiousness in general but in chapter 22 when hoseok and oc were taking a trip down memory lane and hoseok was playing out scenarios of how their life would’ve been alternatively !!!!!! hoseok is such a hopeless romantic I was melting I love that side of him 😭💕🥺 also I love yoongi and sunyi’s-

[2/7] -relationship too, I’ve been soft for yoongi lately and idk why but jungle park yoongi’s characterisation made me Feel Things, not even with the way yoongi and sunyi interact but also the subtle things he does/says that indicate he likes her, I liked it a lot!!! I love yoongi 😪 and as always, idk how u do it bec I imagine it would be hard to write, but I love the characterisations of each jungle park character and how they all have their own actual personalities and I love how their-

10. Silly but cute AU prompts: #1 - rival superheroes who are trying to protect the same small city (Kuroo, Tsukishima) - this one wasn’t a request we got but i still loved it anyway. the idea of “rival superheroes” seems so silly already to me anyway (same cause, why rivals?) and with these two? witty banter galore. 9. Decorating the Baby’s Room (Oikawa) - may is one of the best fluff writers i know so i knew this one was going to be right up her alley when we were calling dibs on which scenarios we wanted to write. i feel like she captures the fun (or funny) side of oikawa well 8. Silly but cute AU prompts: person A who sits in the back of every staff meeting and makes snarky comments under their breath about everyone the whole time and person B who arrived late and sat next to them and can barely hold in their laughter (Kuroo, Tsukishima) - did you mean me every meeting at work? when i read reader-inserts, i tend to remove myself from reality for a little bit because i know the reader isn’t always going to be characterized exactly like me because that’d be impossible. except may went ahead and wrote me into these whether she realized it or not 7.  Library notes (Akaashi, Yamaguchi) - this was my undergrad meet-cute fantasy turned real, or as real as reader-insert fanfiction. speaking from experience, i know it can be difficult to characterize akaashi sometimes because we don’t have a ton canon-wise to work with (thank you fanfic writers everywhere for filling that void) so i was definitely impressed with akaashi here. think it’d be neat if may wrote a part 2 to these with akaashi and yamaguchi leaving notes for the reader. 6. Victory Sex (NSFW) (Oikawa, Suga- see below 5. Pain Relief (NSFW) (Oikawa) - i really don’t have a lot to say about these other than they’re hot. may used the gif i wanted to use already so please see the above gif for my feelings on these 4. Silly but cute AU prompts: posted a joke ad in the classifieds but someone actually responded (Tendou) - this was my first introduction to may’s writing, so of course it already holds a special place in my heart. thanks to this piece, may solidified herself as my top choice for a new admin when I was searching for one. it’s light, fluffy, positive and the perfect introduction to her work.  3. Stealing the Remote (Tanaka) - i love tanaka, and there’s not nearly enough stuff with him as there should be. that being said, this is cute as all heck. i also love the sibling interactions between saeko and ryuu. 2. New Girl (Ushijima) - i’ve been in such an ushijima mood lately, so this is right on-point. like i said before, i remove myself from realty with reader-inserts and allow myself to be a different person for the sake of the piece, but for this one, it felt like something i might actually do (except for the being short bit, but again, i usually don’t mind). 1. Hitman!Kuroo falling for his target’s daughter (Kuroo) - i think this is a good departure from most of the fluff we’ve been writing, and the tone is pitch perfect here. perhaps it’s because kuroo is may’s fave and our best work tends to go into the characters we like the most (no shame in that!). i’m so pumped for part 2 of this (i was busy all day yesterday and haven’t had the chance to read yet)

English! Or actually almost all language subjects (except my own, it’s too fcking hard). There’s just something exhilarating when I’m able to understand writings and dialogues from other parts of the world…

Ouch, I don’t read much Greek myth (or Percy Jackson lol). I’m gonna chose Hades just because of Disney’s Hercules xDDDDD

There’s this chemistry teacher in my high school who complains about EVERYTHING. Like. Someone would be wiping the blackboard and she would come in and complain that we make all the chalk dust spread, causing breathing hazard or something.

On the whole though, I don’t really hate any teachers, usually it’s just irritation.

Chapter 14: Review

I’m taking another break from my study session to write you a review since I haven’t for a while and this chapter is so great, I want to cry. Here we go!

A/N: Ahhhh, gah, thanks so much for writing this all up, love! So detailed and thoughtful and just aaskfan;olgv. So glad you liked it! Hope your test went well!

1) First part

This Caroline’s contract is so her and Stefan making edits is so him, I loved that you opened the chapter with that hah! Also it’s hilarious how he also makes those edits to annoy Caroline, I love how he teases her sometimes.

The only thing I’m addicted to is you, Steffy bear: I’m so tired of Defan in the show. Bless you for making their bromance so likeable in this fanfic :)

So when you said Stefan was going to be jealous I instantly thought about him getting jealous of Damon with the contract thing being involved. AND I LOVE IT. I mean, I totally love how you write Stefan’s personal thoughts and mind battle between his jealousy emerging and at the same time him trying to repress those emotions because they’re just casual and he doesn’t have the right to. Yet, it shows that Stefan feels something more deeply for her and that the thing of “I just want casual sex” is going to bite him in the ass and I’m so here for it. It’s so funny though, because he thinks Caroline has this contract for him because he thinks she isn’t into him in the same way that “she was into Damon”, when she actually writes this contract as a way to put a wall between them so she doesn’t fall for him. How can he be so oblivious lolol

And I could see what you meant with “judgmental”, “critical” Stefan. The way he went at Damon just because he was feeling jealous. You know, even if it was super wrong, I guess it’s a very human thing to do, especially from Stefan. I get that it brings memories of cheater Elena back and he gets defensive straightforward. Having said so, though, I’d love to see a honest talk between Damon and Stefan, with him explaining to Damon why he behaved so irrationally and immature. I love their brotp moments. So, I was wondering, will Stefan tell him what was going in his mind? 

A/N: WHEW, so much good stuff here - first of all, loooove all your notes and thoughts. All super, super spot-on. Defan is definitely a funny, drama-free bromance in this fic, so naturally I was like ‘DRAMA TIIIIMEEE’. No dynamic can go unscathed, muahahaha. No, but in all seriousness, I’m thrilled with your interpretation of how their tiff went down - I was absolutely going for a very human but still very flawed moment from Stefan because I felt like he was overdue for it, and Damon felt like the unexpectedly right target. There will definitely be a talk between them in the future about it - Damon might be used to letting things slide off him like butter, but Stefan’s not okay with what he did, so he’ll seek him out. Defan bonding ahead! Likely not in 15, though - already a lot going on there, lmao.

Re: the contract, aren’t they both being such idiots? Caroline pretends she’s writing it for Stefan when she’s absolutely writing it for herself, and Stefan’s convinced that her giving free reign to Damon meant she was more into it than her thing with him when it’s the exact opposite. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Luckily, no matter how many stubborn conclusions they come to about each other, their natural magnetism keeps winning out and giving them moments like the one in her room, so. Safe to say we’ll have more of those :)

2) Second part

1. Honestly, this whole moment has made me feel as through I was reading a suspense/mystery/detective story for a moment hsdbaysugd. I’m writing this review as I’m reading so I don’t know if this whole thing about the different IDs will be explained later but I’m so intrigued about these 2 identities and what’s going on! 

2. I’M DEAD ABOUT KAI SENDING BIRDS LIKE WTF. I’m crying, like, what is even this guy?! When I watched the video you made and I saw the birds, I thought it’d be just like a crazy thing caused by the wind or something, but the fact that Kai has all these birds, and sends them to deliver notes? THIS IS TOO MUCH I’M ON THE FLOOR. 

3. Isn’t it hilarious how Damon has gotten under Bonnie’s skin and she can’t shake him off? The sexual tension is too much hehehe.  When I read first Kai’s appearance, I got a vibe that he had a thing for Bonnie. Maybe I’m wrong, though. But it’d be great to see Damon driving Kai crazy during the dinner while flirting with Bonnie in front of him and Kai suddenly releases a lion or tigger or something as his revenge. 

4. Did Damon seriously use Caroline’s shampoo for the wounds? I can’t.

A/N: Woooo, mystery fic feels! That plot’ll come around again during the dinner date, but as you probably know by now, Bonnie does bring it up, lololol. Maybe not in the most productive way but it’s out there. 

Kai’s a delightful lunatic and I can’t wait to write him in an extended role in 15. So glad you’re enjoying him and his bird zoo! Much more madness to come - as fun as the Bonnie x Kai will be, I really think the Damon and Kai dynamic is going to push it over the edge. Speaking of, LOOOOOL at releasing a tiger on Damon. He’s definitely going to be a pretty shameless fake boyfriend and we’ll have to see how Kai takes it all. TBH, I’m pretty sure he finds Damon just as hot as Bonnie so it’ll be an interesting interaction for sure. 

And yes, he washed out cuts with fancy French lavender and there’s a 1000% chance Caroline’s going to kill him if she finds out he wasted her expensive ass shampoo for that.

3) Third part

OH MY GOOOOOOD

1. I love Caroline/Liz’s relationship SO MUCH. You have a gift when it comes to writing family dynamics, just saying. I love the friends vibe I got from them even if they’re mother and daughter. (I can totally imagine Liz meeting Stefan and playing Cupid between the two of them asdbayusdgf). Jump Mr. Brenner’s bones: jnfydsuhf Caroline. Can we expect to see Liz again? 

A/N: Will definitely see Liz again! Either in another phone call or during the Christmas chapter(s). So glad you liked their relationship!

2. Caroline trying to control herself and not snap at Stefan after seeing all the edits was hilarious.

A/N: LMAO the perfectionism is strong in that one.

3. Plus, she couldn’t help but feel like there was a general… off-ness about him right now that she couldn’t put her finger on. A brusqueness, almost, or a sense of calculated distance that reminded her of how they used to be: so, when I read this, I got a little confused as to what could be causing this behavior from Stefan. Was he acting a little distant because of a) his previous jealous-situation earlier? I mean, was it because he was still feeling a little off because Caroline let Damon do more stuff when they were having sex?; b) he thinks Caroline and Damon might be still hooking up?; c) he’s determined to keep it as a casual thing so he’s trying to put some distance between them in that sense or between his own feelings?; d) all of the above? (This sounds like an exam, I’m sorry).

A/N: I think c is probably you best bet. He went into that room business-like, focused, like it was a case he was working on, you know? He’d just finished reading through the entire contract so he had a very clear sense of what she wanted out of him (physical), and on top of that, he’d read it with a determination to prove to himself that he could totally do no-strings-attached. I think the jealousy situation played a role in that, too, but maybe less because of him being upset about Damon and Caroline and more because he was upset at himself and his own inability to handle that well. Basically, he was pulling a Caroline and putting up a front that cracked pretty quickly. 

4. Can I just say how great the positions of Stefan and Caroline felt in this moment? Like, them being sitting in front of each other, around clothes, and in her room, gave a sense of intimacy to everything and I think it was a great scenery.

A/N: Awww, gah, thanks so much, love! This is like such phenomenal feedback to hear as a writer - I tend to try to write things in a way that feels like a movie playing out in your head, or like you’re there in the room with the characters watching it all happen, so the fact that you could feel the intimacy of that scene makes me really happy. 

5. I know Caroline doesn’t like hair pulling, and I don’t expect her to like it even if it was coming from Stefan lmao. But, I don’t know why, I feel like once Stefan “runs” his hand through Caroline’s hair, she’ll like it, at least this way of hair playing? A girl can dream, right? I totally see Stefan doing it even if he tried not to. Maybe it’s because I have this headcanon that Stefan is obsessed with Caroline’s hair in the show, so I’d really love to see that in the fic since we’ve seen Stefan touching her hair while making out with her in the fic sometimes.

A/N: I feel fairly confident saying that the biggest problem she’ll have with Stefan running his hands through her hair in the future will be liking it too much. I also feel fairly confident saying it’ll happen often.

8. I CAN’T FUCKING BELIEVE YOU GAVE US THIS MOMENT OF CAROLINE IMAGINING A MARRIED LIFE WITH HIM. I’m hyperventilating. I know it’s too soon but you’ve hit me right in my feelings. I get the “Caroline being romantic af” vibe from it and I’m in love gurl. Like, I know it’s over the top, but Caroline starting to believe in love again, the love that she loves so much, is such a cute thing to see? P.S. I really hope they have a mini Caroline one day, because I can totally see a little girl wrapped around his shoulders like a monkey as you said. And I can see her being very Caroline-like with her sassy comments and rolling her eyes every time Stefan starts rambling about nerdy things and she and Caroline exchanging exhausting looks. You’ve ended me, thanks :)

A/N: Looooove that you got the Caroline-the-Suppressed-Romantic vibe from that because it was absolutely what I was going for - she’s super vulnerable to love. She’s hard-wired for it. She grew up with sweeping books and romantic movies and grand gestures and her and Matt started out like a fairytale, you know? So I wanted to sneak in a moment where you start to see that repressed side of her that she denies so hard, and figured daydreams about Stefan the Hot Dad was as good a way to do it as any ;) So, so happy it killed you! LMAO, and aw, a flashforward of that would be tooooo cute. 

4) Fourth part

1. I can’t believe Bonnie confessed she’s having sex fantasies about Damon. I was reading the whole dialogue and conversation and thinking she’s not going to, right? She’s not going to. And once she did I laughed so hard.

A/N: lololol Bonnie’s the biggest wreck she’s been in ages and she is so done with life.

2. I love how Bonnie and Damon can be so direct to each other sometimes. Like I love how Bonnie just said everything that was going on in her mind without biting her tongue, and it makes such a good parallel with Stefan and Caroline because they’re always so scared of just following what they’re truly feeling? I mean, I enjoyed Bonnie’s moments of craziness and running away from Damon all the morning, but reading her exploding was like yay girl, go for it. Also, I’m wondering if Fell is your violent criminal record name and thinking about googling it, but I’m also hoping your towel falls off. It’s all really healthy: I’m dying, poor Bonnie.

A/N: Love this parallel! So accurate - Stefan and Caroline are sort of tentatively navigating around each other and their unacknowledged feelings for each other, and they’ve been doing it in a kind of slow, steadily building way for chapters on end. It’s more controlled, more lingering. Meanwhile, Bonnie just kind of woke up in 13, was like WHOA BOY what is this feeling, did like acrobatics to try and get around it, and didn’t even last a day before cracking. I think there’s a sort of combative volatility to Bamon that lends itself to that, to those big, rip the lid off scenes and poke-the-other-till-they-snap beats, and even though it took longer to get them where they are than it took Stefan and Caroline, they’re almost moving more quickly now because the defenses are down. The pretenses are melting. At least on Bonnie’s end. Damon, there’s still a lot to dive into, but now that Bonnie’s not as focused on being a tight-lipped human stress ball, she’ll get back on the offensive with him and girl can fish. Damon’s up against a lot.

3. Okay, that was hot. Damon’s all in, and he’s being so happy and such a tease about it lol. I’m here for this “you’re not going to be able to resist me” while pretending to a couple. I don’t care if it’s cliché or shown in a lot of fics and shows, I’M SO HERE FOR IT because it’s going to be so fun to read. 

A/N: LMAO it’s the biggest cliche to ever cliche so OFC it’s in this fic! So happy you’re looking forward to it! I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. Sexy, surprising, and fun. 

5) Fifth part

1. How cute that Stefan and Caroline were just watching videos like 2 normal people. A cute, normal moment (let’s forget they were watching videos of people kissing/having sex/basically porn sfsydgfdf I’m dead).

A/N: LMAO right? Casually watchin’ makeout scenes with your pending booty call, nbd. It’s always fun to write them slipping into comfortable moments without really realizing it, since their origins were so tense.

2. The thing of the scarf kind of reminded me of the Harry Potter drabble with nerdy Stefan lol. Also, thank you for this kind of moment because seeing them just bonding is always nice to see. Especially because you can see they’re totally different but they get so comfortable with each other and they work together so well.

A/N: So true! Totally nerdy Stefan! And yeah, absolutely, I think the sexual attraction has been more than established for them at this point, so now’s when the bondy moments start picking up steam, you know? Like the unexpected ease with each other/shared senses of humor/things that imply something deeper than just sexual chemistry. Not in full-force, obviously, since Caroline would probably bolt, but in worrisome flares that get longer and longer every time. 

3. You know, earlier today, I…: I NEED to know what Stefan was going to say! I mean, my first thought was the he was going to tell Caroline about his jealousy earlier, with Damon, but I’m not sure. Well, whether it was or wasn’t that, I was wondering if we’ll see Stefan telling Caroline about that, by the way. I picture Stefan telling Caroline he felt jealous because he has this kind of thought that she sees him as boring or not fun enough, and she reassures him and confesses that he actually makes her laugh sometimes, BUT ONLY SOMETIMES hahaha. 

A/N: In my head, I saw it as he was going to say something along the lines of like, ‘earlier today, I thought that maybe this whole thing was a bad idea.’ Sort of lowkey admit that he was considering not signing the contract, that maybe he wasn’t right for this, and that he had this idea that the only way it could work is if he was super detached or distant, but that actually, the past hour had just been genuinely fun and he was glad he hadn’t decided that. That’s what I was thinking. Not sure he’s at the point with her where he’d open up about any kind of insecurities re: her and Damon, because so much of that is tied so heavily to the blow his self-esteem took with Elena and it’s just a loaded conversation. But maybe a little further down the line, I could see something like that happening!

4. Stefan checking Caroline out and devouring her with his eyes while she was stretching was not subtle at all and I’m happy. He’s so attracted to her, it’s crazy. Honestly, both of them are going to feel so relieved once they finally have sex after so many days of increasing sexual tension lmao.

A/N: I’ve sketched out a few potential first time scenarios for them in my head and I think the one I’ve settled one is very much in line with this, hahaha.

5. I’M HYPERVENTILATING WITH THIS STEROLINE KISS OMG. I swear I felt butterflies, you wrote it so well :’) And YAS, because of course this would happen. Caroline trying to teach him what intimate is so that he doesn’t do it, and yet here he goes, his hand sliding up her spine, his fingers in her hair, his other hand around her waist to pull her to him, and then on her face. He couldn’t resist lol, he’s so whipped already. 

6. Sliding the pad of his thumb over the arc of flecks on her left cheek and causing a wash of butterflies to flutter through her/ His thumb swiped down to the mark just above the left corner of her mouth. The feather-light friction left a flare of warmth across her cheek, and her pulse skittered at his proximity to her lips, at how easily he could brush a fingertip over them: GIRL WTF, LIKE WTF.  Stefan can try all he wants, honestly, everyone knows he’s not going to be able to be “non-intimate” with her. Like, LOOK AT THEM. 

Her index finger traced a line from his right eyebrow to the jut of his cheekbone: GIRL WHAT GAME ARE YOU PLAYING. Can I just say how beautiful this moment of exploration and knowing each other was? And I love how flirty and idiotic and playful they were afterwards, like Stefan pretending to be offended and to want to pull away but not in the slightest. MOOD:

LIKE DO THEY REALIZE HOW HARD THEY’RE FALLING FOR EACH OTHER BECAUSE, MAN.

Also, I wanted to thank you because it’s been cute to see Caroline being nice to Stefan and not putting walls between them as she usually does. I’m proud of my baby.

A/N: LMAO just responding with a <3 to all of this. So, so happy you liked it. I knew some people were worried about how purely physical they were in 13 so I was like ‘how can I fast-track a little intimacy without going OOC’ and this was what I came up with, lololol. Just a sort of forbidden moment where all things go and intimacy is the whole point but it’s also a slippery slope because it’s messing so much with both of their heads, you know? So needless to say, I’m really glad it landed! They’re dumb, I don’t know why either of them ever thought that would help rather than hurt they’re ‘casual sex’ crusade buuuuut this is what comes out of my head. 

I’m really curious as to who is going to realize it first, like, you know, have this moment of realization, and if they’ll just follow what they feel or want to stop so it doesn’t continue. I’m fragile, I don’t want to suffer. 

Oh, and the fact that they have this constant need to mark what is intimate and non-intimate, and the whole contract thing, doesn’t that make them think that if they need all of that is maybe because they know they feel something deeper for each other even if they don’t want to say it aloud? I DON’T KNOW BUT I’M READY FOR ANYTHING THAT IS COMING FOR THESE TWO.

A/N: I think Christmas is going to be a key time for them in terms of coming to those realizations. Just like that first stretch of time apart, where the extenuating circumstances that brought them together are over and there’s no convenient excuse to see each other as much anymore, you know? That’s my predication. LMAO I honestly don’t know ‘cause chapters morph on me like crazy. 

And re: the recognizing needing rules = feelings, YOU’D THINK. Denial’s a hell of a drug, man. 

7. Does Bonnie really not notice anything or at this point she’s just pretending she doesn’t because I can’t believe it lol. By the way, I really loved this moment with the 3 of them. 

A/N: I think after three years of seeing Caroline and Stefan avoid each other and get super stilted anytime the other was around and just in general be entirely uninterested in the other’s existence, it’s going to take a lot for Bonnie to leap into ‘they’re hooking up’. Like as readers, we’re diving into the fic right when they’re starting something so we’re like Damon, we see it as super obvious. Bonnie has a whole three year history of them being allergic to each other that is kind of putting up a mental block, and on top of that, she’s sort of the main character of her own romantic debacle right now and that’s compromising a lot of her observational skills. I do think, though, that once it clicks in her head forreal, she’s going to immediately identify all the obvious af signs she missed and be outraged at herself.

8. Okay, first Stefan, now Bonnie. Like no wonder these two are besties. They even get jealous at the same time and over the same people, it’s hilarious. Damn crow, by the way -though I find the crows thing so hilarious, can they adopt one or something?-, but will the girls talk about Bonnie’s feelings for Damon? 

A/N: Eventually, for sure. They’ve both got other things they’re dealing with in 15, though. And LMAO they should, though for some reason I see those crows as like unfailingly loyal to Kai. 

6) Sixth part

Love of my liiiiife: I can’t with this guy. All of this comical moment was too much. Like, throwing her over his shoulder and just leaving the apartment; Bonnie with no shoes and calling him out; and they’re about to have dinner with Kai -and the fact that Damon uses like 100 nicknames for him lmfao-. This is going to be fun.

A/N: I think that’s a pretty good indication of the kind of energy the opening of that date’s going to have, so I’m super glad you’re looking forward to it!

7) Seventh part

For the sake of Stefan and Caroline, they really just need to have sex once and for all or they will die -and me too-. 

PLEASE TELL ME IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING IN CHAPTER 15 SO I CAN GET READY FOR MY DEATH. Also, any idea of when you will post it? Just a tentative idea?

Made my day! <3 I know this fic is largely fluff, but let me tell ya, fun as they are, these chapters end up being like 50-60+ pages on Word, so they definitely take quite a bit out of me and quite a bit of time for me to crank out.
