Tada! wholesome! As suggested by @paintsplash1712  Annnd, it inspired a little fic which I will include below the read-more.
“Ok, just A liiiittle further back.”
Hunter held up his thumb and index finger at a distance that was practically touching already, but Luz gave the joy stick another nudge. Predictably the claw jerked back with a wild swing, and by then they’d fiddled with the positioning so long that time ran out, so the claw dropped. It was a long plushy though, so the claw still managed to get a good grip on it. Maybe this time they’d actually—
Aaaand it slipped right out again.
“Urgh! How does anyone win anything around here?!” Vee complained, dragging her fingers down her cheeks in frustration.
Luz let her head thump against the glass. So far they’d burned through half their credits and won absolutely nothing.
The whole trip had been Luz’s idea. She’d heard about this new arcade bowling alley restaurant thing opening up a town over, and it was huge and had a lot of stuff from japan. It looked like a ton of fun, and since Hunter had his license now they wouldn't need a ride, aaaand they all had human money from picking up odd jobs during summer break so they could afford it, so with some convincing, mama said yes.
“I wonder if the others are doing any better.” Hunter thought out loud.
Amity, Willow, and Gus had come along too because of course she wouldn't leave them out. The only reason they weren't all plushy hunting together was because right at the start Luz had had the brilliant idea of splitting everyone into two teams and making the whole thing a competition. Whoever wins the least prizes buys lunch.
“Probably not,” Luz said, glaring at the rotten machine. “It’s all rigged.”
“But there has to be some sort of strategy to it,” Hunter said, rubbing his chin, “how else would so many people be walking around with prizes?”
“Maaaaan, I wish I could just stretch my arm, reach in there, and grab them!” Vee said, staring longingly at the big wolf plush they’d all been trying at.
A thought suddenly occurred to all three of them at once.
“I mean...I could, but, yah know,” Vee said, pointing up “cameras.”
They all nodded and miserably shuffled off to try the next machine.
The place was big enough that they’d decided to have each team take opposite sides and work their way to the middle by lunch time— which was growing ever nearer. At this rate, If the other team managed to get even one plushy they’d win.
“That's it, I'm getting that prize one way or another!”
Willow's eyes flashed a glowing green for a second before both Amity and Gus jumped to stop her. To her credit though, Willow hadn’t been serious. She was frustrated, yeah, but she wasn’t actually going to tear the place apart.
“Ugh,” she sighed, “This is impossible!”
“These are worse than the games at the Bonesborough fall carnival.” Amity agreed, and she was right too. Those games could result in flaming chaos, or loss of limb, but at least you could get a mold fish out of it. “There's just no way.”
“Hmm,” Gus said, and Willow knew that thoughtful hmm. That was the thoughtful hmm of someone with an idea. “Well, there miiiight be a way.”
Gus smiled a devious smile, and lifted the flap of his shoulder bag just enough for a certain someone to peak her head out.
“Welp, that's the last chance we had.”
Vee threw her hands up in defeat and turned away from the claw machine.
“How could we have failed this badly?” Hunter said from his spot on the floor. From the look on his face, he seemed to be rethinking all of his life choice.“Not one single success? Where did we go wrong!?”
Luz could hardly believe it. All that time, all that money, and convincing, and planning, and this is how it ends? With nothing but regrets and heartbreak? This was supposed to be fun, but the three of them were completely crestfallen. Absolutely woebegotten! Anguished and downcast! And all the other synonyms she could think of!
It wasn’t fair! It was—
“Woh, look at those guys!” Vee said, pointing.
Luz turned to look, amongst the last people in the whole place who weren't already staring at the three walking piles of plush toys and prizes. Luz almost moved to get out of the way, but piles seemed to be heading in her direction and—
“Hey guys,” A voice said, muffled by fluff and fuzz “Look what we won.”
“Gus!?” Hunter said, slack jawed in shock “Wha- How did you— What!?”
“It was no big deal,” Willow chimed in, “We're just that good.”
“No way,” Vee argued, “There is no way that you guys di—...”
Vee was about to accuse them of cheating, but she realized that she probably shouldn't say that outloud with all the people that were watching them.
“Diiiid such a good job,” Vee finished, glancing around. “Guess you really are that skilled, haha. Just takes a magic touch huh?”
“It wasn’t my idea!! I sw—”
“Sweeeeet”Luz said, cutting off Amity's confession before it could get started. “Sweet haul guys, haha, you win, ok lets go.”
A pair of workers whispering to each other had started heading there way, so the six of them booked it out the door and back to the car. Thankfully, no one followed.
“I’m sensing some foul play here,” Hunter said, opening the trunk. “What did you three do?”
“Er, well we maaaayy have had some help.” Willow confessed as she dropped her load of plushies in. Said help had been in the form of a certain blue chameleon palisman who could fit into the prize shoot.
“We didn’t make it obvious though,” Gus added, letting his palisman climb onto his shoulder as he put his things down, “Emme can be practically invisible when she tries.”
The little paliman shut her eyes and smiled, proud of her handy work.
“You guuuuys!” Luz said, rubbing her face in exasperation. “You can’t just— what about the cam— we could have gotten in so much trouble.”
Which was kind of ironic coming from the student of one of the biggest troublemakers in the boiling isles, who was also a frequent troublemaker herself. Willow understood though. Luz really had to push to get permission for them all to go on this whole roadtrip thing without an adult coming along.
“Sorry,” She said. “We shouldn’t have risked the trouble like that.”
Gus and Amity followed up with there own apologies and the three decided to cover lunch despite winning.
“Also, if it helps, we did win a bunch of stuff with you guys in mind.” Gus said, fishing in the trunk for a specific one. “Behold!”
Gus held out the Holler Knight plushy they’d picked for Luz, which Luz instantly loved.
“Ok, you guys are officially the best.” Luz said, hugging the big squishy little guy from the game. “Aaannd I’m actually pretty glad you stuck it to the scammy jerks and their rigged machines!”
With a laugh, and all around agreement, they split up the prized and picked a lunch destination.

When it comes to Pokémon plushies, I've always been a huge fan. They're fun to collect and often come in really soft and high quality fabric, making the experience of owning one even better. However, a certain plushie that's always piqued my interest would be the Banpresto crying Manaphy plushie.
Tumblr media
I saw this plushie whilst looking at Manaphy merchandise a while ago, and it really caught my eye. Something about the plushie radiated a bit of mystery and nostalgia to me. At first I didn't really think much of it; I just scrolled past and went about my day. But as time went on I wanted to know more about it. Where it came from, etc. But as I tried to do "research," I noticed that it was rather obscure; sure there was evidence that it existed, but there were only a few pictures (one seen above) of it and I couldn't find much information. I saw one for sale on a foreign selling website, which made me even more curious as to how much people even owned one. The plushie had a "partially lost media" vibe to it, and I was itching to find out these things:
• Where did it come from?
• Where was it released?
And,
• How many people have it/how rare is it?
So I took to Tumblr and managed to find a post of someone talking about the plushie (@santapaws) and commented on their post expressing my interest. I just left the comment there in general not expecting an answer, but OP actually responded and sent me a message! Apparently they owned the plushie as well and even provided some pictures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They bought it off a Thai eBay listing after searching for it for years and currently had it in their possession and sent me a few links on a Japanese auction site where it was on sale.
This kicked off my drive to further investigate. After a while of digging around and paying close attention to where I searched, I found a little "wiki page" of it on Flickr:
Tumblr media
• The origin of the plushie originated in Japan (obviously) around 2006 (most likely, as that was when Temple Of The Sea came out and marketing for it was high). Apparently it came from a "UFO Catcher" set.
But, what is a UFO Catcher?
Tumblr media
A UFO Catcher is basically a Japanese claw machine often found around Tokyo arcades that contain plushies of a variety of different characters, but the prizes often change, so they become out of production very quickly. With that being said, this Mana plushie was most likely one of many that could be won as a prize from a UFO Catcher around that time. These were special because they could not be purchased in stores nor centers, just specifically available at an arcade.
And apparently there was another Manaphy that could be won at a UFO Catcher as well! This one is more content.
Tumblr media
And here's another from 2007!
Tumblr media
And here's another one....
Tumblr media
Another holding May's hat...
Tumblr media
And here's a whole lotta them with Piplup making a cameo!
Tumblr media
However, out of all, the crying Manaphy seems to be the most uncommon, retracing my words back to the beginning of it being rare (on top of it being available for a limited time so long ago!). I'm not too sure how many are in this "set," and just like the crying Mana, there could be more undocumented ones.
• Now, my final point, how many people own them? It's hard to say. OP of the post, two for sale, and another blogger that have them only tally up to four (unless you or someone you know have one lying around!). As I've mentioned before, these were limited and produced over 15 years ago, so it's hard to say how many saw the light of day. And when it comes to the crying Mana plushie, there could be very little that exist.
• What are my overall thoughts?
Well, for my first post on this site ever it's rather a mouthful, but I wanted to express how intresting I find this. I love miscellaneous merchandise! There's a bit of mystery and obscurity about it that fascinates me. How this plushie was so close to becoming lost if those photos/auctions weren't posted on the internet. Although it's just a plush, I would like it to get more spotlight. The fact that few have it and not much is known about it is what makes it intresting.
That's my rambling wrapped up. If you have any words of your own don't be shy to comment. Chances are I won't bite.

May 30 - Tea Ceremony
Here goes my second attempt, as tumblr decided to straight up delete my first attempt in the middle of posting it for some reason -_-
Today I got to attend a traditional Japanese tea ceremony hosted by a world renowned tea master. It was a good experience, despite tea really not being my thing. I felt bad that I did not finish the tea, but I at least took a coupes sips. It was very bitter, which is intentional by them. The ceremony felt proper and extremely well rehearsed. There was even a correct method of drinking the tea and steps to follow for that. They also served us each a little tea dessert made of sugar and bean paste. It was way too sweet for my liking and the texture wasn’t my favorite, but it looked cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also got a chance to walk around the park there for a while, and I quite enjoyed it. It was very pretty and peaceful, and the weather was perfect. It’s a bit surprising to see such a nice and quiet park in the middle of such a larch, hyper modern, extremely busy city. It honestly felt a bit out of place, but in a good way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, a while later for dinner I decided to try out this yakiniku place I found in Akihabara. What it is is they serve you slices of steak to then cook yourself on the grill in front of you. They had it so that you could either pay by the slice for different steaks that they had available that day, or you could opt for one of the chef recommendation platters. They said they get in new meat daily, so their menu is always changing. I got the largest platter, deciding to trust the chef on it. The meal was fantastic, and was one of the best meals I have eaten in my life, and definitely the best one so far on this trip. For 20 total slices of 9 different A5 wagyu, a bowl of rice, and a Coca Cola, it was only $48 USD. That is a very reasonable price for the quality and quantity, especially comparing it to the US. There, that same meal would most likely cost over $300 USD and be less fresh. The steak was incredible and I still can’t believe I got all that for under $50 USD. It was crazy how different they all tasted, even though they are all steak. Some of the. Also had pretty insane marbling, which was great.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To end out the night, I went to three different claw machine arcades. I enjoyed how many different types of claw machines they had, unlike America which mostly just had the traditional ones. It makes it more fun and interesting to lose money to a machine! For prizes they had a bunch of anime figurines, then also some Pokémon plushies. There was also this one hilarious machine that had just energy drinks in it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, have a bonus photo of this cool Coca Cola bottling truck I encountered.

Academic Reflection
I learned about how green tea was originally brought to Japan by Zen Buddhists from China and India, and about how tea ceremonies in Japan were originally a symbol of status. This was interesting to me, as at the tea ceremony today, they stated that everyone in a tea ceremony are treated as equals, regardless of class or status. Additionally, I found it interesting that tea ceremonies used to be run my men (many of which were samurai), and now it is largely run by women. The articles also talked about how proper and well preformed the ceremonies are, which was confirmed for me by the one I attended today. Seeing it in person, you realize just how precise and perfect every little motion is during the routine. One thing I found interesting that I learned at the ceremony is that different tea schools prefer their tea slightly differently. For example, the one today said that they considered it better with more foam on top from the stirring, but that some consider it better to have less.

Although he’s all about going down and dirty
Jay also has a soft side
(Although he’ll never admit it out loud)
And there’s nothing in the world that triggers him to be the softest daddy you’ve ever met
Than when he sees his honeybee feeling so blue
“Hey, my little bee, what’s wrong?” He cooed and cupped your face with his hands the minute you stepped inside your home
Jay knew you like no one else did
He knew exactly how you were feeling just by your body language
So when he saw his honeybee, the one with the most pure and bright smile
The same one who never failed to make him smile at the mere sight of her
Looking so deflated
He knew something was wrong
You took a deep breath before answering “I didn’t get the job”
Tears filled up your eyes
The very same eyes that were always so full of life. Of light.
Were now so lifeless and sad
“Oh, I’m sorry, honeybee. Come here” Jay pulled you closer to his body and the minute his heartbeat was beating against your ear. You began to sob like a baby
“No, beautiful. Don’t cry” He caressed your hair oh so delicately “I hate to see you cry”
“Look…look at me, please?” Jay pulled back slightly so he could caress your dampened cheek with his knuckles
He dried up your tears with the pad of his thumb and you looked up at him
“Thank you” He smiled weakly “Look, I have to go back to Japan this weekend” Your lip pouted and trembled as a new wave of tears fell from your glossy eyes
“No, don’t cry, little bee. It’s okay. I want you to come with me, what do you say? We can spend two weeks in Japan, go to your favorite places. All the stores, parks, restaurants…check out the cherry blossoms. I know you love those” Jay smiled when your eyes sparkled at the mention of the flowers
“Come with daddy, beautiful. It will be like our little vacation. You can come to the arena with me and when I’m not working we can go wherever you want” He cooed
“Wherever I want?” You asked and he nodded
“So you would take me to see the cherry blossoms and then to the arcade so you can win me a prize at the crane game?” You asked sheepishly
“For you, I’ll win them all!”
And when you smiled in return, Jay knew
That he would buy every goddamn crane machine in the world just to see you smile again

heyy!! I found your blog recently and I really enjoy reading your writings! You’re an amazing writer! I’m really happy to see more Blue Lock content as well! Blue Lock is such an awesome manga and I love it so much! I look forward to more of your works! 💘
Could I also request maybe First Date headcanons with Sae, Rin, Nagi, Chigiri, Reo, Kunigami, Isagi, or any of the Blue Lock boys? Thank you!
Hi anon you are such a sweetheart thank you so much! This made my day (*≧з≦) I apologise for making you wait too long, I hope you'll like it! Also, sorry some of them were much longer than the others
First date headcanons
Characters: Sae Itoshi, Rin Itoshi, Nagi Seishiro, Reo Mikage, Chigiri Hyoma, Kunigami Rensuke and Isagi Yoichi
Tumblr media
Sae Itoshi
• You have to be very special to catch his eye. He doesn't go just for anyone, but you, you're definitely special
• And once he confirms his feelings for you he confidently asks you out. Bonus points if you get flustered a bit, he thinks it's cute that he has that effect on you.
• Once you guys agree to go on a date this boy immediately rearranges his schedule around the date
• He tried suggesting that you two go on your first date in Spain or France. But you politely shut down his idea down, saying that he doesn't need to go overboard for your first date
• So you guys settle for a nice restaurant in Japan, he was a little bummed that he had to stay here but it's with you so he will manage
• Sae is a true gentleman, opens the door for you, pulls you out a chair, compliments you and pays for the meal
• If someone happens to see you two outside on a date tho, rumours will start immediately. But he couldn't give two shits tbh
• He would enjoy listening to your interests, Sae loves watching that spark light up in your eyes he knows the feeling of happiness that rushes through you when you talk about your interests.
• If they do happen to ask him about you on some press conferences he would just say: "Yes I'm currently dating someone, I don't get how is that related to my career."
• After your date, he would drive/walk you home and kiss you on your forehead. And when he comes back home he would have to fight the urge of buying some tickets for a foreign country to take you on your next date.
Rin Itoshi
• Like his brother, Rin seems very cold and calculated. So you have to be super interesting to catch his fancy
• Rin is introverted, so he wouldn't like to go out to some fancy restaurant. So he would take you out to the movies! He enjoys horror films so I feel like he would pick out a really good one
• After movies you guys would get ice cream and walk around, talking about anything and everything
• He would complain about all the lukewarm people he met in blue lock. And he would offer an ear to your complaints.
• He is so cute I swear, Rin is trying so hard to hide the smile that is stubbornly trying to show on his face. He doesn't want to blow his "cool guy" persona yet.
• He would walk you home and you would walk you home, but you would have to be one to initiate something. He wants to hug you, but the poor boy is just super embarrassed.
• When you hug him, or kiss him on the cheek. You can definitely see the red color creeping on his ears. When you two finally part your ways. Rin is letting that simle show, just this time it's much bigger and the pink dusting his cheeks is much more visible. But when he gets back home he puts on his cold facade
• He is not into PDA, so on your next date I feel like you two would walk around with your pinkies intertwined
Nagi Seishiro
• This one is a given, Nagi would totally take you out on an arcade date! He could effortlessly impress you, plus who doesn't love arcades?
• You two would play few intense rounds of air hockey. After the fifth time that you lost he let you win one round, just to see you jump around in victory
• After that you guys played some co op games, Mario Bros, Bubble Bobble and other classic
• Your small rivalry will continue as you guys start playing vs games like Street Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat if you main Kitana you are immediately attractive idc again he will let you win just to see that cute smile on your face
• Please if you have the willpower make him play Taiko or DDR. At first he would be hesitant, because he thinks that it would require so much effort but if you bat your eyelashes he might just fall for your trap
• What can he say it's hard to resist when it comes to you. Surprisingly he is really good at Taiko, which of course earned a compliment from you "You should consider becoming a drummer." please just imagine drummer!Nagi what a concept
• Nagi saw you eyeing one of the toys in the claw machine and he just had to jump at the opportunity. So here you were with two milkshakes in your hands cheering Nagi on
• It took him a while but he got it in the end! He knows that you will treasure it, and the huge smile on your face was totally worth it
• You two walk to your house hand in hand and talk about all the games that you played you leave him with a kiss on the cheek and a promise to beat him fair and square next time
Reo Mikage
• This guy goes all out, like it's unreal how much effort he put in. The second you agreed to go out on a date with him he started planning everything out to the smallest detail
• A limo was waiting outside for you, I mean he did tell you to wear something nice, but you didn't expect this much
• He bought you flowers, he went as far as renting out the whole restaurant. Which is one of the most expensive in town.
• At first you felt kinda awkward, I mean isn't he going a bit too far? He probably spent a lot of money on this. But he reassured you that you deserve to be spoiled
• After some time you get much more comfortable, and you stop caring. You don't feel uncomfortable and out of place because Reo is there, and that's the only thing that matters
• After a very nice dinner made by the best cook in the country. You guys went on top of a tall building and just talked your hearts out, admiring the beautiful navy sky
• The limo took you guys back to your place and you were standing on your doorstep hoping that Reo would do something and he did!
• He kissed you! And you had to hold in a scream of happiness, after he left you ran into your room to let out that happiness by screaming into your pillow
Chigiri Hyoma
• Okay, you two would go on a study date! He feels like that's the best option, it's lowkey and he wouldn't feel as stressed to actually ask you out
• But just because the date seems casual, it doesn't mean he didn't carefully chose the location you two would go to. He checked all the local cafés and what food and drinks they serve
• He would choose the most beautiful café, a beautiful slow melody is bouncing around the room. The whole café was decorated with wood and plants, making it look like a whimsical forest
• You two ordered tea and got two Strawberry Shortcakes, Chigiri and you opened your books, you guys talked a bit about the harder subjects you have to get to eventually
• But as the conversation started to flow, you two kinda forgot about the pile of books you had on the table
• You talked about your favorite writers, and other hobbies you share, the tea was great and so was the Shortcake
• After a long talk, it was time to part your ways. Chigiri walked you home, and you guys just couldn't stop talking about everything and anything
• You didn't want to go and neither did he, so he immediately asked you out on a another date, and of course you were so excited
• When he left he just couldn't stop thinking about you, so he called you and the two of you talked for so long.
• Both of you couldn't wait to see each other again
Kunigami Rensuke
• The two of you would go to an amusement park! Eating delicious, colourful cotton candy as you guys talked about all the ride you want to go on
• Kunigami would win so many games, you would have so many stuffed animals by the end of it
• Like his hands were full and you were carrying two stuffed bears each settled into your hands
• You guys would ride the fastest, highest roller coasters. But if you are afraid of heights, that's okay too. There is a lot of other fun rides and games you can try
• You would go on the teacups and you would ride a carousel giggling like little children throughout all of it
• Kunigami suggested that you should visit the Haunted mansion, everything was fine at first, but then a second jump scare happened and then out of reflex Kunigami hit the poor worker in the head
• When the sun started to fall asleep and the sky splashed with orange gradients. The two of you went to a farriers wheel
• Walking home still laughing about the aftermath of the punch Kunigami accidentally landed and your hands full with the stuffed prizes, he asked you out on a next date
Isagi Yoichi
• Isagi took you out on a picnic! At first he was kinda hesitant to ask you out. He can get really insecure at times and you are just so perfect he thought you were way out of his league
• When you said yes, he was the happiest he ever felt it's the same feeling he gets when he scores a goal
• In an attempt to surprise Isagi, you decided to make some sandwiches
• Isagi had the same idea tho, so when you two met up, both of you were holding baskets full of food earning an angelic laugh from Isagi
• The field looked beautiful, it was filled with flowers and some kids were running around. The two of you sat on a blanket right under a blossoming cherry tree
• Munching on some sandwiches, you talked about anything and everything
• After you stuffed your faces with food, Isagi suggested that you two play football. And you eagerly agreed
• Sure, maybe you aren't the best football player. But seeing the spark that is dancing in his eyes is totally worth running around trying to kick a ball
• To your surprise, you played football for hours laughing and playfully bickering
• And everything was fine until the rain began to fall. Quickly starting to pack your things up, Isagi looked for the shelter
• The two of you ran to safety, never dropping your smiles, your hair and clothes totally wet by now
• Your house was closer so that's where you went. You begged Isagi to stay until the rain stopped. And he oh was he embarrassed, he's never been in a girl's room and now here he is. Changing into some clothes you had laying around while you were making tea for the both of you
• After some time passed, Isagi finally got comfortable and you laughed the whole situation off
• When the rain stopped, it was time for him to go even though you didn't want him to
• He thanked you for the stuff you lent him. Promising to return them on the next date

Tomura Shigaraki | Perfect day
Pairing: Tomura Shigaraki x Reader Request:
Tumblr media
Warnings: language Word Count: 1.1k
Tumblr media
You have been counting down the days for a week.
Tomura had promised to take you on an actual date when he knew he wouldn't be busy with League business. Once he told you there was a free day coming up, you were more then excited.
Being Japan's most wanted villain, he couldn't take you out as much as he wanted. There was a lot of things he couldn't do as a "normal" boyfriend, but he wanted to give you as much normalcy as he could.
He didn't always say it out loud, but he cared for you very much.
The day started with you getting your sleepy boyfriend out of bed. Tomura groaned as you shook him, turning away from you in his sleep. You chuckled, laying him on his back. He blinked repeatedly, vision blurry as he was still waking up.
"Baby, why are you up so early?"
"I'm always up at this time, Tomura."
He smiled, minding his fingers as you straddled his waist. He sat up, bringing his lips to yours as your arms wrapped around his neck.
"You're sure you wanna go out? We can lay in bed all day."
Shaking your head, you kissed along his bare shoulder, "You promised a nice outing, I'm holding you to that."
"Of course," he rolled his eyes, but you knew he was just kidding around. Tomura was not ashamed to say he'd do anything for you.
-
There were plenty of arcades to choose from, but considering both your statuses, Tomura had to pick one that wasn't as popular. You fixed his hood before entering, smiling as he opened the door for you. Linking your pinkies, Tomura led you through the building, stopping as you eyed the photo booth.
"You wanna take some?"
"Are you sure?" You held onto his arm, "What if someone recognizes us?"
He smirked, holding up his free hand and waved it slightly, "Don't you worry about that."
You let out a small chuckle, cupping his cheek with you free hand as you kissed him. He smiled into the kiss, pulling away before things got too carried away.
"Come on, let's go take those pictures."
-
After the pictures were done, he slid them in his hoodie pocket, linking your pinkies as you went and checked out the games.
"What do you want to do first?"
"I'm not sure, want to try to win something or play an actual game first?"
He pointed to a machine besides him, "Let's play a game first, I wanna show you some of my favorites. I'll win you something before we leave."
You smiled, "What if I want to win you something?"
He shook his head, "I don't need prizes, I have you."
A small gasp escaped you at his answer, and before you could control yourself, you pulled him into a tight hug.
"You're so cute."
He laughed, "Yeah, no, that's you. Come on, I'll teach you this game and then you can pick the next one."
-
Tomura laughed as you groaned at the word 'defeat' in large printing across the screen. His fingers tucked into a tight fist before wrapping his arms around your middle.
"Told you, you can't beat me at my favorite game."
"Okay, fine. I'll admit defeat just this once."
He smiled, leading you away from the game. You picked out the next one, one that you knew you were good at. Tomura stood behind you, resting his head on your shoulder as he watched you play.
"Fuck, you're so good at this. Look at you go."
You smiled at his praise, leaning against his chest. Your game went on for awhile, before you eventually won. Tomura smiled behind you, pressing a few kisses along your jaw and cheek.
"That was so cool! Proud of you, baby."
-
"I'm gonna go wash up before we leave, I'll be back in a few."
He nodded, "Okay, take your time."
As soon as you were out of eyesight, Tomura went to a claw machine he saw you eyeing when you walked in. You mentioned that one of the plushies were cute and he planned to surprise you with it at the the next stop of your date.
He got it on the second try, carefully sticking it in the pocket of his hoodie. You walked over to him a few minutes after that, linking your arm with his.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
He smiled, "It's okay. Ready to go?"
You nodded, looping your arm with his own after he led you out of the arcade.
-
Tomura got a booth in the back of the tiny parlor as you paid for the ice cream. You walked back to him, placing his ice cream down before sitting across from him.
"So, as far as normal dates go, how am I doing so far?"
You smiled, "I've absolutely loved today. I know we can't do this all the time, but it's nice. Just being able to be with you, it's all I could've asked for."
"Good, you know I want you to be happy."
"I am happy, Tomu."
He smiled, reaching into his pocket, "Here, I got you a little something."
He handed you the small plushie, loving the smile that was placed on your lips.
"Oh Tomu, you didn't have to get me this."
"I saw you looking at it as we walked by, and I wanted to win one for you. Like I said, I just want you happy."
-
Tomura trailed a finger over your skin, turning his head to place a kiss on your forehead. He loved cuddling with you at the end of the day, no matter what you were doing. But right now? It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. He shifted slightly so he was able to look at you. You leaned up, hand gently caressing his face as you kissed him.
"You had a good time, right?"
You nodded, "Of course, being with you is always a good time, Tomura. Want you to be happy too, make sure you had a good time."
You placed a hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat thud against your palm. He smiled, kissing you once more as he held you close, mindful of his fingers.
"As long as I'm with you, I'm always happy."

Timor and Cole
No Fear story (part 1)(fearplay)
"The dragons of emotions, feared and respected around the world. The family was most respected in China and Japan as most of the world doesn't believe in the supernatural. The part's of the world that do belive make offers of everything the dragons might need as to not offend or upset them. The dragons lived in peace with the humans but never showed them there true form unless they needed to feed. Every dragon fed off the emotions and feelings of humans to keep the emotion tied to them in check for the world. If they didn't feed off of their preferred emotion or went too long without feeding the area around them would become corrupt with that feeling. That doesn't mean the dragons didn't feed of regular food as well but they didn't need to feed off as much as their size should've needed. All the dragons were respected for what they did, be it help or hinder the world. Some religions called them monsters and some called them God's. People everywere told stories and legends of them, some of great kindness from some and terror form other's. In China a whole year was named after them but it only encouraged there already massive egos, and because of that they tried to live in the most special parts of the world. The tallest mountains, the oceans, in cityscapes where they would pretend to be human or in dense forests where humans would dare each other to trek. Story's of old have been falling out as the age of technology was setting in and people believed less and less. This ment less hiding and more spectacular acts from the dragon's for all but a few.
A younger child named Timor, was the dragon of fear. He could change his form to anything he wished and create monsters and structures out of seemingly nothing so he could more easily scare humans. Because of a disagreement with his family, they banished him from coming back to the temple but this had happened before. Timor had to travel the world to find a new home, it took him nearly weeks to find a nice forest to make overwhelmingly scary in a almost empty town in (sigh)...... Oregon. A small town surrounded by forests with a smaller forest in the middle of the town where he made his temporary home. There is about a few thousand people here but it is fun to mess with them sometimes. A few missing animals found on the other side of the middle forest, a few missing road signs, and scarring the occasional drunk lingering outside the bar for a quick meal. An adult always makes for a bigger meal than a child but a child's fear always tastes better.
After he left his family he got quite lonely. No amount of minor fun he could have in his forest could compare to just talking to his family. So that's why I'm here, talking to you." Timor said, boredom covering his face after his story. The small orange ball with a crude mud face drawn on slightly shifts and falls on its side. "Great comedic timing Garrett" the dragon said with a small grin. "I'm hungry. I'm going to get a snack from town, you want anything while I'm out" he said while stretching his back "....." "Fine I'll get you sushi" He said trying not to sound upset. As he got up, he let the trees he was holding with his tail go and as they flung up into there original position pine needles sprinkled over the slightly burned ground. As the moonlight came back to the forest his black scales shone bright enough to light up the surrounding ground of the forest that would usually be covered by the trees. "you always want something fancy and its hard to get it back here before it breaks" he said under his breath without looking at the ball. "........" "Yes, you do. You always do" he yelled back at the ball with a single claw pointing at it. "......................" "NO I DON'T! You know what, I'll just get you a fried salmon" he said fully yelling at the ball while walking away. "....." "Oh screw off and I'll see you later"
Cole's POV:
"What I thought was going to be a nice Friday has now turned into that day" Cole thought. Every month it's something new. The 3 boys that always tormented him were his classmates. Everyone calls them Butch, Brock, and Brutes because no one knew there real names. He just decided not to call them by there real names anymore. Last time, they where framing him by breaking into the arcade and locking him in the extra prizes closet. Now there dragging him by his arms while riding there bikes. Only 2 of them were dragging him while the 3rd was tailing behind. Cole's jeans where ripped and his knees where bleading since he had to alternate between his knees, heels, and the sole of his foot. His brown hair was a tangled mess in the wind and his jaw was going numb from holding it tight for so long. He was on the verge of screaming but he knew that if he screamed or called for help they would start dragging him by his legs. They've been dragging him for almost 20 minutes and his legs felt like they were going to burst into fire.
Cole knew were he was but he had no idea where the were taking him or what they would do to him this time. Cole couldn't hear a car, no shouting neighbors, not even someone walking on the sidewalk. The only thing Cole could hear was the laughter of the 2 boys carrying him everytime he struggled to lift his feet up or maybe break free of there grasp and a few dogs barking when they passed a house with some. He tried talking about it but his teachers never cared about anyone except the teachers pet. His parents were only concerned about their daughter who was now the CEO of some big business and there drug addicted middle son. There wasn't a lot going on with Cole that his parents knew of so they didn't care to much.
Once they started to stop Cole began to open his eyes and see they were at the public pool. As they got there they dropped him flat on his face directly onto the cement. Butch picked him up and pinned him to the fence while Brock ran off to the edge of the nearby woods. Brutes, the one tailing them was more or less the ring leader. He carried a lot of tools including a par of bolt cutters he used to break the lock off the chain link gate. They dragged Cole to the edge of the pool and started to talk like Cole wasn't awake "hey I think his legs need some medical attention" Butch said with a wicked grin. "Ya, we should clean it off" Brutes said while walking over to the janitors closet. Brutes reached into his backpack and grabbed a mallet that he definitely stole. After a few swings he was able to break the entire door handle off and get into the janitors closet grabbing the nearest cleaning supplies he could. "This should do it" Brutes said while walking back over to Cole and Butch, cleaning supplies in both hands.
A minute later, Brock ran in and stumbled dropping all the rocks he was carrying for the group. He seemed scared to his core but he was hiding well enough from the other 2 but not enough to hide it from Cole. He knew what was coming and tried to get away but was still being held down by Butch. Brutes began to pour the cleaning supplies into the pool, grabbed Cole and jumped in. As they got to the surface, Cole couldn't move his arms and his legs and feet were being destroyed by the extra chemicals in the water. Brutes didn't feel a thing, he couldn't, he was born without most of his pain receptors and would always do the painful things for the group. Coles needed to keep his mind off the pain, it was the only way to get threw there torture. The forest always calmed Cole down. He memorized most of the outer edges of the woods neer the pool but this time when he looked back it was different. A few of the big branches were gone and he swore he could see some faint lights near the base of the trees. He didn't get a long look at the forest before he started getting pelted by rocks. As he jolted by the new pain in his chest he looked back to see Butch and Brock getting ready to throw more rocks. Stone after stone was thrown at Cole and Brutes, a few of the sharper rocks cut into Coles arms and hands with the water immediately surrounding it. After about 20 seconds of rocks being thrown at him he heard Brutes tell the others to stop. Cole could feel every impact point and his legs being burned from the inside out. Cole didn't have much time to think or react as Brutes pulled him under the water.
Cole tried to fight him but he didn't know he was going under and didn't get a full breath before being pulled down. He didn't want to let out the little air he had so he barely fought back. As he was fighting with what little he had left in him, Brutes grabbed Cole's head and opened his eyes to the chemicals. Cole tried to scream but couldn't with the little bit of air left in his lungs gone he had to get to the surface. Before he could move thow Brutes climbed onto his shoulders and jumped out, pushing Cole deeper down. As Cole finally climbed to the surface he was gasping for air and coughing up water struggling to move his lungs enough to breathe. Cole heard the bikes begin to move but couldn't open his eyes to see them.
The pain was started to get to Cole. It hurt to have his eyes open and he needed to get the chemicals off of him. Cole knew that there was medical supply's at the bottom of every life guard tower, he just had to find it. Cole looked as shut as his eyes could be. After a bit of searching and stumbling he found the supply box and forced it open. He found some eye drops in the with the rest of the supplies that anyone at a pool could need and more. Once he was able to force his eyes open enough to put the drops in all he could feel was euphoria from a lack of pain. Then the pain of his legs kicked in. The burning was unbearable but luckily there was bandages and gauze in the box too. He was used to this, those 3 would always do this sort of stuff. Cole wasn't the only one on the receiving end, there were 4 others the boys would go after. Logic dictates that they would all be friends and go back after the bullies like in books and movies, but not even the outcasts would be friends with Cole. "He's to cold and he doesn't seem feel anything. He's unnerving and unsettling and bad things seem to happen all around him." That's the other kind of stuff they said. Cole never bothered to memorize what they said because they would just say it again some other time. As Cole got the second bandage on his other leg he knew he had to get the chemicals off himself as soon as possible.
Cole found a small water fountain and hose by the side of the concessions stand people used for filling up water balloons that he had to use to wash cleaning supplies off himself. As he finished up washing as much as he could he felt like he was going to pass out. Cole needed to take a full shower to get the rest of the bleach of his skin and he really wanted to sleep, he needed to get home as soon as possible. His home was over 2 miles away from the pool and that was by going thru a forest. He knew if he went around the forest he would probably pass out so going thru the forest was the only option he had if he auctly wanted to sleep comfortably tonight and not have chemical's sleeping into his cuts. The water was starting to freeze on him, it might be July but the nights are still cold. Cole got up and walked out of the gate, he thought back to the fire works he saw a few days ago. His family very rarely ever got together but it was still nice when the did, everyone marvelling over the lights in the sky. He was walking along the outside of the fence, his mind raced back to the lights he saw in the trees. As he walked onto the edge of the forest he saw the broken branches, gashes in the trees, and large holes definitely made from something sharp and long, and very recently. Cole was never really afraid of anything but this was probably as close as he was going to get as his mind raced thinking of what could have made this. He used the thought of what could have made them to keep his mind off the pain and cold and soon he could see them, deep in the forest were the lights. Intrigued by the lights he knew he had to follow.
Timor's POV:
Timor's new favorite place to get food was at a small building that had some very tastey food covered in some crinkly coating. The building was next to a lake with some not so great tasting water so, he found another pond to drink from that was still in his forest. There are some fish in there too that he named and liked to talk to. "Grace, Gina, Gemma Gwen, and Genny with a G" he said just before taking a drink from the small pond. The fish were swimming around the pond rapidly as Timor came closer and further to the the pond. He talked to the fish as if they were close friends finding each other while shopping. "Ya, nothing big's been going on for me either but I did finally finish moving in with Garrett." he said while looking at the shiny fish before taking another drink. As he took one final sip he accidentally drank one of the fish while it was swimming by. He had to admit to himself that it felt nice having something moving around in his mouth, and it tasted great. Hunger almost got the better of him and he almost ate the fish whole. He let it swim in his mouth for a bit before letting it out "Oh, uh, s-sorry umm Gemma". As he said that he realized he was apologizing to a fish. At this point he knew he had fully gone insane. So he just walked away without saying anything else. He was fully alone.
As Timor was about to exit the forest he saw a group of humans. Three of them were on a small movement machines and the fourth was being dragged by his arms and bleading from his legs and feet. Timor was able to blend in with the forest just before anyone saw him. He tried to watch what they were all doing but there were to many branches in the way. One of the kids were running over and all Timor could think of was if the kid saw him and about how hungry he was for both food and emotions. When the kid came to the edge of the forest Timor was already halfway up the tree but the kid was just picking up rocks. Timor needed to feed off someone's fear so why not. He couldn't just roar at the boy otherwise the other's might hear him. He also couldn't have the boy scream or else the other's might hear him, but he could tempt the boy further into the forest. Timor started to break a few branches off of the trees trying to get the boys attention and after a few branches the boy looked up to see but saw only the trees rising and a dark night sky. As the boy was about to start running back Timor began to claw at the back of the trees while still invisible but the boy didn't seem to notice what was happening. As he ran back to the other humans, Timor saw that they somehow got into the the small lake that was surrounded by metal.
Timor watched as two of the boys jumped into the small lake. One of them seemed to stare directly at Timor and soon the two outside the lake stated to throw the rocks at the two in the water after a bit the two in the lake went underwater but only one came out for a bit. The second one was coughing up a lung as he crawled out. It started to freak Timor out so he ran back off into the forest. He watched the minor action from a far. After a minute the three left and the last one was stumbling towards one of the large towers next to the small lake. Once he got to it he began to open the small box on the side and began putting something in his eyes and putting some cloth over his knees but he ran out before he could cover his feet. The boy got a small rope and sprayed more water into himself. The boy walked out of the small lake sand got to the edge of Timor's forest and so the boys trek began, threw the forest where nightmares lay in wait and horrors untold lurk.
Timor knew his eyes glow in the dark and he would use that to start. Timor thought the boy would follow his eyes and he was right. The boy followed, trying not to fall while just walking. Timor would help the boy but only after he got his meal. Timor knew he had to be scarier and floating lights weren't going to cut it. Timor started to climb the tree behind him backwards while never taking his eyes off the boy until he reached the near to where all he had to do was close his eyes. Timor was able to stop the noise he made from jumping off the tree to the ground and started a spell. Timor watched as the boy walked past the tree where his eyes disappeared. Timor had to get in front of the boy before he could start his nightmares. It wasn't much of a problem as the boy seemed unfazed by the experience. Timor thought that anyone of his monsters could scare the boy, so why not a monster created in a mental hospital.
Cole's POV:
As Cole walked into the forest the lights he saw never moved or faltered. It was like staring at headlights of a still car but they didn't give off any surrounding light. The forest was still the same dark black and the ground was mushy and covered in pine needles but still not fully visible due to the dence trees. The lights were like a laser pointer, only shining into his eyes. As Cole drew closer to the lights started to go up one of the trees and vanished near reaching the top. He didn't have time to think of it, he knew he had to get home as soon as possible. Looking into why there were lights in the forest wasn't something he could afford to do right now, but he couldn't stop thinking of them. What were they, where did they come from, why did they leave. At least thinking about it kept his mind off the pain. While his mind raced he heard something to his left. A tall slender human thing was standing not even 10 feet away. Cole immediately ducked behind the nearest tree for cover but he didn't know if it had seen him. It had to be at least 8 feet tall and its arms and legs were out of proportion in every way. Its hands were too big, almost cartoonish in a way but it was covered in flesh like the rest of its body. Its forearms were slender, it didn't have any feet, its chest was just a ball with no features. It had no head but it had long thin legs. It wasn't bright enough to see the creature more clearly but Cole could tell it didn't have any skin and it was red everywhere. He didn't know what the crimson monster was but he knew he had to get out of there.
Cole studied the creature for a minute, but it just stood there. It was slightly swaying, barely even moving and it didn't seem to be able to stand uprite without help from something. Cole couldn't hear breathing or a heartbeat, the only sound it made was a small rustle when its nubs moved a bit over the pine needles. Cole tried to steer it away by throwing rocks in different directions but the creature never moved. Cole had no other options than to run or fight. Cole wasn't going to try to fight a monster, even if he wasn't feeling like an ice pack and the bruised cut it was trying to soothe. Cole needed to sneak past the monster, trying his best to stay out of sight and hide from the monster before running. As he tried to slip away the creature seemed to immediately notice him and without warning or preparation the monster barreled towards him. Not even the monster seemed to know what it was doing until it started to gain speed. Cole started to run as fast as he could with road burned legs and feet. With every ounce of strength he had left, he used and for once he started to feel frightened. As they ran, Cole could still only hear the nubs of its feet on the muddy ground. Cole looked behind him and the monster was gaining on him, not even a foot away but as he turned away he ran directly into a tree. Cole thought that one mishap would be the end of him as he started to turn around and slump against the tree. As he looked up the monster was gone. Nothing but his foot prints and small holes left by the monster. His leg felt like it was broken and he couldn't feel his chest. All the wind was knocked out of him and the feeling from the needles and pinecones tearing into his feet were becoming worse.
The pain was almost unbearable and he couldn't focus on anything for more than a few seconds. He was starting to realize how cold he was, the midnight air and the wind rushing past him froze the water still clinging on him faster. As he looked into the deepest parts of the forest trying to forget what was happening he saw movement. The canopy started to sway harder in the wind and the shadows of the branches seemed to move and cover the light. As the darkness began to set in, the last shadows of the trees seemed to move and make a tunnel of darkness. The last bits of light began to fade just as his eyes were getting used to it. Once the forest was pitch black and the tree Cole was leaning on became colder than when he sat down, there they were, the lights. The two orbs came closer and closer to him never faltering and never swaying the world was silent for a moment. No wind, no heartbeat, no breathing. It was still. And when the lights were right in front of him they seemed to talk. "Why are you not afraid" they said in a deep booming voice, but it almost sounded... fake?
Timor's POV:
Timor had one of his monsters chasing the boy thru the forest. A schizophrenic nightmare made real he found tormenting some hospital back in china. He had the monster staying right after the boy but just behind. The boy had barely felt any fear at all, he seemed to feel was the instinct for survival. Timor would not be denied some food by a kid. As they ran the boy looked back at the monster to see if he was alright and the split second he looked, the boy ran directly into a tree. As the boy slid down the side of the tree the monster raised a meaty hand and was about to kill the boy before Timor vaporized it, turning it back into a sort of dream essence. Timor looked back at the kid, bloodied, beaten, and freezing and knew he had to help now. Timor blacked out the sky and the forest, crouching so low his neck was almost touching the ground to be at eye level and stalked closer to the boy. This type of thing had happened before with his victims of fear, someone hurts themselves and are to badly injured to go anywhere and need help. He puts them to sleep and heals them with some magic his family taught him. Once they wake up there in bed and it all seemed like a bad nightmare. Timor never had problems scaring anyone, let alone some small kid before, so why this one he wondered.
Timor needed to know why this kid wasn't afraid of what just happened. "Why are you not afraid" he asked in a deep voice. trying at the very end to get the tiniest amount of fear out of the boy, but instead the boy started to chuckle while still shaking up a storm. "What's so funny" Timor said angrily still in a deep voice. The boy began to laugh "I-I'm about to d-die and the lights t-that take e-everyone away is t-talking to me in a f-fake voice". Timor was growing increasingly angry and was about to speak, but before he could the boy said "a-am I the star o-of a h-horror g-game or is this a n-nightmare" he said about to start laughing again before clutching his side in pain as a small drop of freezing water rolled down the injured skin. Timor grew furious and reverted back to his true form. The darkness that enveloped the two of them drew back and reverted to normal shadows. Timor's scales started to shift at his nose first and became visible again, and like a wave the rest of his scales started to shift and turn until his while body showed. "Y-your... a d-dragon" the boy said still shivering. "I am the dragon of fear mortal" Timor said in his normal voice.
Timor saw confusion come over the boys face but still not fear. "Could the boy not feel fear" he thought still angry that the first warrior to beat his monsters at there own games of fear was a child. "W-What do y-you want f-from me" the boy said, unable to sit still any longer. "I want to feast" Timor said while trying to look unfazed. "And you will do for a light snack" Timor said, now bearing his teeth and getting up to pounce. Hunger had finally set in as he had nothing to eat food or emotion wise in over a week. Timor had to get some fear from the boy, anger and hunger filling his mind only stopped by his reasoning. Timor only had to take 2 steps to finish the distance between him and the boy. Timor picked the boy up, lifting him high into the air. "If I ate you right now, no one would know and the nightmares haunting the forest would stop anyone from looking. So scream, beg for your life because you will be dead soon" Timor said trying to get any fear out of the boy before he would heal him and take him home. "I-If you were g-going to do a-anything, y-you would have d-done it by now. Your j-just stalling" said the boy with a smug smile, his teeth still clattering. Timor was fully engulfed in anger and hunger, and a human was mocking him and denying him food. Timor's mind was filled with the thought of food and he needed to eat. With the boy still raised, Timor open his mouth and dropped the boy headfirst into his maw.
Cole's POV:
The shadows seemed to pull away, slowly falling back on the branches that owned them. The lights in front of Cole started to gleam and just in front of the lights the air started to move. Scales started to flip over from nothing and become visible to Cole. A head was created out of nothing it seemed, the lights were the eyes of something huge. The boy could almost fit entirely in the jaw of the monster. It had thin needleish spines going along the back of its neck and as it began to back away and sit thin Cole noticed the monster's silver chest. Cole saw wings appearing from the top and filling out the air before tucking into it's back. The claws where sharp and long, deffenetly the thing that made the holes by the edge of the forest. The monster was a dragon, it was stoic and regal but its eyes seemed distracted. "Y-your... a d-dragon" he said trying not to shiver. "I am the dragon of fear mortal" it said in what Cole could only assume was it's real voice but, it still didn't seem right.
Cole's mind raced as thoughts filled his mind. "Are dragons auctly real. Was the monster he saw made by the dragon. Why would it show it true form now." The dragon watched Cole as he thought, and it knew what Cole was thinking. That made Cole wonder tho, "If it's the dragon of fear, why isn't it scary". The dragons face was still the same so there was no mind reading. "W-What do y-you want f-from me" Cole said before trying to move to run away. "I want to feast" the dragon said. Its face didn't change but its eyes were showing all the emotions Cole needed to see. "And you will do for a light snack" the dragon said slowly standing onto all four of its legs while bearing its teeth. It didn't even have to take a full two steps before it was right in front of Cole. The dragon picked him up with its... hands? Paws? The dragon held Cole between its claws and the pads of its front feet. They were warm and surprisingly not covered in mud or pine needle's. It would almost be comfortable if he wasn't almost 20 feet in the air with something sharp on his chest. "If I ate you right now, no one would know and the nightmares haunting the forest would stop anyone from looking. So scream, beg for your life because you will be dead soon" the dragon said, its claws pressing down harder.
Cole knew the only way to escape was to make the dragon mad. It might drop him in anger, or it might kill him also in anger. "I-If you were g-going to do a-anything y-you would have d-done it by now. Your j-just stalling". Cole knew this would probably be the tipping point for the dragon. Cole read that dragons were driven by the emotion they were connected to. As long as Cole didn't show fear witch wasn't hard, he could try to escape while it was mad. Cole was great at making people feel the emotions he wanted them to, and it seemed to work too well. The dragons eyes were burning with rage and its face was angry like Cole never seen before on anything. The dragon opened its mouth and turned Cole upside down, dropping him head first in the dragon's gaping maw. Cole fell, trying not to hit the sharp teeth of the dragon, landing directly onto its tongue. It was warm, and very wet. The pink walls surrounding Cole were pulsing and a constant heartbeat was audible further down in the dragons body. Cole tried to escape pushing back at the dragons mouth and trying to pull himself out with his feet. "This is the worst Friday ever" Cole said while in the mouth of a dragon.

that was a quick answer so here's another what are your favourite touka headcanons?
Damn, why you pressuring me with all these questions?! Anyhow, fuck, this is hard...My first favourite Touka headcanon is when she's in the middle of her pregnancy and she gets super insecure about her gained weight. Mix that with her hormones and you got yourself a shit storm of tears and trauma. Irrationally emotional Touka is the best Touka :') there's just something so adorable about her being a little pouty every now and again. Another is clingy Touka. Once this is all over, you can bet your ass that Touka will be the clingiest motherfucker in Japan. She'll be sitting on Kaneki's lap in the living room, hugging him tightly from behind in bed, always subconsciously reaching for his hand when they walk. And the kisses, OH THE KISSES, whether that be nose kisses, pecks on the cheek, slow and long smooches and just a straight up 20 min make out session, she loves to try it all. And finally, if you couldn't tell, her being a childish joy with her kid. For someone to have their childhood robbed from them at such a young age, I'd love to relish the thought of her experiencing what she lost with her kid. I guess this also applies to Kaneki too and even when it's on a simple trip to the town or a holiday to a theme park, she will be as excited and hyper as her own child. She'd go on all the rides, (she almost rips Kaneki's hand off when going on a rollercoaster), she'll pet the shit out of those petting zoo bunnies and she will waste all her money trying to get that one prize in that one game in the arcade.Hope you're satisfied hahaha.

Japan Travel Log (6/13-6/23/2018)
m
Tokyo Drift
We landed in Narita and met up with our guide Norio. I almost had to act as second-in-command since one of our kids was sent to a doctor. and our tour sponsor went with the ill student She had had a seizure in flight and the airlines arranged for a doctor to meet us at the airport. The kid was OK...the doctor said the seizure more than likely stemmed from the fact that she was menstruating, dehydrated, a lack of sleep, and staring at her phone and TV screen for a long time.
We were taken to Akihabara for shopping time before dinner. It’s a nerd’s paradise with shops selling anime merchandise, cosplay items, etc. This tour was more fast-paced than the 2015 excursion. I saw a lot of those little vending machines with plastic bubbles, but never got a chance to get one of the prizes. Last time it was a goose with yellow diarrhea. This year the theme was animals with Quagmire jaws.
Tumblr media
We went to the Asakusa Kannon Temple and Meiji Shinto Shrine. Then there was a lecture from an ex-sumo wrestler that was quite interesting. I learned that some of those guys have 20% body fat despite their size.
Tumblr media
Norio took us to a major shopping mall/arcade. I ended up by myself and was a bit anxious about getting lost. I found a Disney Store, bought some BH6 and Zootopia things before going into a noodle house and ordering bukkake noodles. I was more relaxed after lunch and found a Snoopy store but it was too late to really see much.
Later on, after touring the city some more (Tokyo City Hall) we ate a sumo supper:
Tumblr media
The next day we went to a fisherman’s market and met up with some college students as part of an exchange program. Our sponsor presented the boys with Mexican candies. Only one of the students seemed to like the marzipan. Our student guide took us to Don Quijote for a brief shopping stint (I stocked up on plum kit-kat bars and Hachiko-themed fruit drops. My GoRuck pack was heavy toting ten cans of those candies. I was a little bummed about bypassing Hachiko’s statue, but it was packed with people who seemed amused that a cat was sleeping between the dog’s paws.
That Saturday was a bit brutal on our feet. With the heavy traffic, the guide had us travel by metro and foot. We ventured into Harajuku. I kept to the stationary stores and a t-shirt shop where the clerk was more than happy to assist me in buying a few shirts for gifts (and take my yen). I would have liked to have gone into Burberry but I’d have spent an arm and a leg in there. It was crowded, balls packed with tourists. Even getting drinks at a Seven-Eleven was crazy. All aisles were full of people. I’m also thankful for my teacher bladder because there was only stop at the public restroom from Harajuku to the history museum. By the evening, I stopped at a McDonald’s just to sit for a while and get off of my feet.
On Top of the World
We spent the night in Hakone.
Tumblr media
This was from the Kamakura Shrine. A Japanese wedding procession even went by, reminding me of the Samurai Jack series finale.
Norio was full of surprises, one of them being a surprise mini-hike to Mt. Fuji.
Tumblr media
That was fun. Granted I’m out of shape and couldn’t keep up with the group. I lingered near some sheds trying to get a selfie with the mountain behind me, urging the other students who stayed behind to start descending to the bus stop when it was time to leave. Stick to the edge of the trails. One, the center is for the gods and spirits only and two, there’s tiny fish aquarium-like granules in the center and more firm ground on the edge of the trail.
Then there was the hotel. I think this was my favorite day in the entire trip. Our guide was very considerate about letting participate in Japanese customs and culture. You read a lot of books, watch TV shows about Japan, etc., but the real reason to go on these tours...live it.
Norio gave us the rundown on the onsen. Our hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean had a rooftop hot pool and he told us how to soak Japanese style (wear a yukata, and get in the water naked). I grabbed a yukata from the front desk and went to soak with Mel, an art teacher from Oregon. They arranged timetables so there would be an adults only time and a students only time. We got first soak before dinner. I’ve been to hot spring pools in Truth or Consequences, NM so the nudity thing didn’t weird me out much. Some of the NM pools have private pools where you either soak naked or with a swimsuit, and depending on my company, it can go wither way. But the public pools don’t allow nudity. So Mel and I soaked. Then I found a door leading outside and ventured out of the pool area finding a secret pool outside on the rooftop overlooking the Pacific Ocean. At that point, I felt like that guy from Titanic. It was invigorating standing up naked on the roof of a Japanese hotel, letting a light breeze graze over me as I watched the ocean.
Tumblr media
That was dinner. The guide even procured sake for the adults.
Kyoto Stray
The next day we concluded our Hakone tour before boarding a Shinkansen to Kyoto. We didn’t know about the Kyoto earthquake until Norio received a call from the tour company asking if things were all right. I was a bit worried when Norio said our train was delayed due to the quake. I was already envisioning the group camping out in the station overnight waiting for a train. But our guide came through and got us on a late train, though most if us sat in the smoking car. Our guide was stressed out. He might not have shown it in his facial features or gestures, but I saw him sit with a guide from another group, both men drinking beers and lighting up as we rode out of Hakone. You do what you have to do, right?
On the second day, things weren’t going too well. I had dropped an ice cream cone seconds after buying it (and I wanted something cold and sweet). I couldn’t really meditate on the Path of Contemplation because I was wondering if I was going the right way.
The real kicker was getting separated from the group near dinnertime. We had stopped in a shopping arcade and I was not sure how to ask for a custom seal (stamp) in a shop so I dawdled a bit. The stamp would take twenty minutes to carve...plus I bought a weird stamp with a guy poking his head from underneath his ass for a co worker of mine, and a case for my own seal.
I met up with some students from our group and one girl was having trouble buying a shiba inu doll from an inu cafe storefront. I loaned her some money, but in that time, our group was leaving for dinner. I told our sponsor to wait so i could pick up my stamps, but when I left the shop, the group was gone. And I didn't have cell phone service so I couldn’t get texts on where to go.
I went to Starbucks for help, and the clerk pulled out a map suggesting that I go to the metro to get back to the hotel by Kyoto Tower. But I couldn't make heads or tails on which train to board or even how to buy a ticket for that matter. I walked along the underground for a couple of hours, studying the metro maps on the wall, but none had directions on getting to Kyoto Tower. I decided to return to the streets and get a cab. I felt like that guy from Shanghai Calling. (The part where Daniel Henney’s character hails a cab to his office and the cabbie tries to tell him it’s nearby, but at Henney’s persistence, ends up driving five feet away before showing him the office). With my luck, the hotel would be two minutes away.
It was a fifteen minute drive. I paid the cabbie thanking him profusely. I’ve never been stranded like that without cell service to use Apple or Google maps, and I was afraid of missing my ride to Hiroshima in the morning. I was already envisioning myself walking all over Kyoto until daybreak. The stress killed my appetite; I went into a Lawson’s store but ended up replacing my food on the shelves and returned to the hotel to soak for half an hour in the tub before crawling under the comforter. I didn’t want to leave the room. I was also dreading getting a tongue lashing from Norio about time management and keeping up with the tour. If he was upset, he didn't show it. I never got chewed out.
It’s late. I’ll continue with Hiroshima later.

CLASSIC OLD SCHOOL HIGH LIMIT 우리카지노계열 SLOTS: DOUBLE GOLD + DOUBLE DIAMOND SLOT PLAY! NICE WINS #562
They come in decks of 24 no 2s to 8s, 32 no 2s to 6s, or 52 cards, the latter with corner indices and three jokers. The word spade probably represents the Old Spanish spado (“sword”), while club is a direct translation of basto, implying that Spanish suits were used… The Mexican game Lotería requires a special deck of 54 cards. Each card has a picture, name, and number. For generations of Americans, casino gambling meant Las Vegas -- and the name evoked either glamour or tacky glitz, depending on the listener.
Today, poker has evolved into numerous variants with differing rules and formats. There are so many different forms of the game in existence that it would be near impossible to name them all. With the passage of time it became standard for decks to contain a King, Queen, Knight, and Valet and total about 56 cards. * Two Pairs – two sets of two cards of matching rank with one unmatched card (Example – 4 of Clubs and Hearts, 8 Clubs and Spades and a fifth unmatched card). Where the player and dealer both have two pairs, the hand with the highest pair is considered the winner. If both hands have matching top pair, the higher of the two lower pairs is considered the winner. Where both pairs are matched, the hand with the higher ‘Kicker’ (final unmatched card) is considered the winner. Another game with the poker name, but with a vastly different mode of play, is called Acey-Deucey or Red Dog poker.
The name Baccarat comes perhaps from Bacchi-ara ("Altar of Bacchus") which was the name of a Roman castellum of which there remains a relic called the Tower of Bacha on the heights of Deneuvre. http://query.nytimes.com/search/sitesearch/?action=click&contentCollection®ion=TopBar&WT.nav=searchWidget&module=SearchSubmit&pgtype=Homepage#/비트게임 The symbols are $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20 bills — and two special symbols, a joker and the casino logo. An example of a blackjack side bet is insurance. It is only available when the dealer has an ace showing with a house bet of 7%. There are other side bets in blackjack, but they are a contribution to some of your losses. Dealers themselves often make significant efforts to avoid calling out the number. When necessary, participants may refer to seven with a "nickname" such as "Big Red" (or just "Red"), "the S-word", etc.
Tumblr media
If a hand consists of two tiles that do not form a pair, its value is determined by adding up the total number of pips on the tiles and dropping the tens digit (if any). Examples: Slot and video poker players are a solitary lot, and occasions for tipping are rare. That poker sized deck is not sold separately, but as part of boxed game. Five suited decks include Cinco-Loco Poker Playing Cards, produced by the USA Playing Card Company (not the United States Playing Card Company,) which introduces a new suit design. A Swiss souvenir pack to commemorate the 6th centenary of the 'Swiss Republic, produced by Jean Muller in Schaffhouse, first produced in 1891 .
In Caribbean Stud Poker the player has the choice to make a side bet of $1 which pays for hands of a flush or better. The specific payoff tables vary from place to place but always feature a progressive jackpot, paying 100% of the jackpot meter for a royal flush and 10% for a straight flush. Players compete against one another to be the first to have a winning arrangement for the prize or jackpot. After a winner is declared, the players clear their number cards of the tiles and the game host begins a new round of play.Just like the buy bet lay bets pay true odds, but because the lay bet is the opposite of the buy bet, the payout is reversed. Harrah's Entertainment finds that in 2005 female casino gamblers showed a marked preference for electronic gaming, with 79% of those surveyed indicating that it was their favorite type of game, compared to 63% for men. Forty-one percent of women preferred machines in the $0.25- to $0.50-per-play range.
The second round wins if the shooter rolls a seven before the don't come point. This is the name for the 12 numbers that lie on the opposite side of the wheel between 27 and 33, including 27 and 33 themselves. When all the players have placed their bets, the dealer gives one card face up to each player in rotation clockwise, and then one card face up to themselves. Fire Bet: Before the shooter begins, some casinos will allow a bet known as a fire bet to be placed. A fire bet is a bet of as little as $1 and generally up to a maximum of $5 to $10 sometimes higher, depending on casino, made in the hope that the next shooter will have a hot streak of setting and getting many points of different values.
You'll sometimes find payoffs expressed as "chances-TO-1"; other times, especially in video poker, they are expressed as "chances-FOR-1." In roulette, for example, the payoff for hitting a single number is 35-to-1. Pachinko (パチンコ) is a type of mechanical game originating in Japan and is used as both a form of recreational arcade game and much more frequently as a gambling device, filling a Japanese gambling niche comparable to that of the slot machine in Western gambling. 온라인카지노 Put bets are better than place bets (to win) when betting more than 5-times odds over the flat bet portion of the put bet. For example, a player wants a $30 bet on the six. Looking at two possible bets: 1) Place the six, or 2) Put the six with odds. A $30 place bet on the six pays $35 if it wins. A $30 put bet would be a $5 flat line bet plus $25 (5-times) in odds, and also would pay $35 if it wins. Now, with a $60 bet on the six, the place bet wins $70, where the put bet ($5 + $55 in odds) would pay $71. The player needs to be at a table which not only allows put bets, but also high-times odds, to take this advantage. You can scroll through them all to take a look, or you can jump straight to any specific game that interests you by using the links in the list below.
The two hands are thus treated separately, and the dealer settles with each on its own merits. Older dealers and players may use the term "Big Red" because craps tables once prominently featured a large red "7" in the center of the layout for the one-roll seven bet. During the comeout, the seven is called "seven, front line winner", frequently followed by "pay the line" and/or "take the don'ts".This is called a reach (or reachi) and sometimes longer animations are played called super reaches. The promotional stunt lets riders go anywhere in the city as long as they make a charitable donation... or they can go straight to the casino, free of charge.

My World Cosplay Summit 2017 Adventure: First Stage and OSU Cosplay Parade
The World Cosplay Summit is a series of events that take place over a week, culminating in the stage competition that determines the winning team. There are two stage events. The first stage is all the competing countries performing their skits, followed by a concert and the winners of minor prizes. The next day is the second stage, where only the top countries compete. This is also followed by a concert and then they announce the winners. The other events are photoshoot parties and hangouts for people to dress up in cosplay, some events are ticketed and others are not.
Visiting the WCS was only one part of our vacation, so I decided to only attend two events: The World Cosplay Summit first stage and the OSU cosplay parade. This post will detail those events.
Tumblr media
FIRST STAGE
We spent the morning at the Nagoya Science Museum, but if I were to go back and do it again I would definitely head down to the event area earlier. On the way to the Aichi Arts Center we passed Oasis 21 where it seemed the real party was happening. So many cosplayers were hanging out and taking pictures! There was also booths set up downstairs by a stage with a huge screen. If you don't have a ticket to the show, there is still a lot to see and do in the area.
Tumblr media
Cosplay
For this event I dressed up as Lucoa from Dragon Maid. I chose to cosplay her because of how cool and casual the outfit was; I was able to wear most of it during the day and avoided having to find a changing room. I carried the hat and wig in my backpack, it was easy to pull them out and throw them on at the event. If you want to wear something more elaborate you'll need to change in the area, I detail how to get a changing room ticket in the OSU Cosplay Parade section below.
Tumblr media
Navigation
When we first got to the Aichi Arts center it was a little difficult to find where we were supposed to go. There wasn’t any WCS signage that stood out. It was the uniformed people standing in front of some large doors that signaled that we were in the right place. There was an information/ticket desk near the doors as well. It didn't seem like the Aichi Arts Centre was very large, so it should be easy for you to navigate.
Tumblr media
Tickets
I bought the First Stage tickets through Ticket Pia, through a link posted on the WCS website. These tickets are digital and need to be displayed on the Ticket Pia app. We were directed to show them at the ticket desk. They checked the digital tickets and then presented us with the printed tickets. These were used at the large doors to enter.
Tumblr media
Inside
Going in we got a brochure and a sheet of shiny tattoos. We were then brought in and shown to our seats by one of the staff members. We were a little late to the show but the venue wasn't too large so we had a pretty good view of the stage. I was expecting there to be way more people inside watching the event, but it was surprisingly bare. Especially when compared to the mass of people outside and something like 70,000 people watching the NicoNico livestream.
Tumblr media
Performances
The performances were awesome to see live! All the costumes are gorgeous and all the performances were incredibly impressive. The teams were grouped into three blocks. They would run through the performances of each block and then we were given a short break to use the washroom and stretch our legs. I lucked out and got to sit near some fellow Canadians, who were also there to support Team Canada. During one of the breaks we had a chat and they hooked me up with a WCS Canada and Fellowsheep Cosplay pin.
After all the performances, while the judges make their decision, it switches to a concert. It felt like an instant transition! It got dark and a bunch of people in the audience stood up and broke out their light sticks! If you plan to stick through the concert, come prepared.
Tumblr media
Outside
During the concert, the boyfriend and I decided to check out what was going on in the area. In the lobby of the Aichi Art Center they were selling band and WCS merchandise. Outside, it had gotten dark but the cosplayers were still going. It had the feeling of a casual convention or cosplay hangout. A bunch of cosplayers hanging out, talking, getting their pictures taken, shopping in the nearby stores and just having a good time. For me, it felt really familiar; I loved it.
Tumblr media
WCS First Stage Tips:
If you pre-purchased tickets online, download the app and have your tickets ready before entering.
Go down early, there is a lot going on!
You don’t have to buy a ticket if you just want to hang out in cosplay, but you get a great view of the stage if you do.
If you bought a ticket, be prepared for *party mode* and bring a lightstick for the concert.
If you don't have a plain-clothes cosplay you'll need a changing room ticket to get dressed for the event.
If you want to take pictures, be prepared for bright sun during the day and low light at night. You may want an external flash.
Tumblr media
OSU Cosplay Parade
The day after the first stage was the OSU shopping arcade parade and a new experience for me: getting a changing room ticket and getting dressed at the event.
After grabbing breakfast at the hotel, we headed out to find a Family Mart.  It is really easy to find convenience stores in Japan, or at least in the cities we were in, because they are EVERYWHERE. They are also really convenient, selling food, snacks, umbrellas, sunscreen, backup shirts and just about anything you might need. Some also have terminals where you can buy event tickets, and that is what we were looking for.
Tumblr media
Buying a Changing Room Ticket
Using the terminal was intimidating. I can pick out the odd hiragana or katakana character but my boyfriend and I really can’t read Japanese. We got to this point by using google translate and guessing based off limited English, and luckily the terminals in the subway for purchasing tickets had an English language button. The terminal at family mart did not.  Luckily google was able to save us again and  I found a guide online here: http://eplus.jp/sys/web/yo-gaku/yo-fm/index.html. We had trouble typing in what we were searching for so we pulled up a list of events, and looked for the name of the venue. Among the Japanese characters, X-HALL stood out. The next issue was when it asked for a phone number, since it didn’t accept either of our phone numbers. We ended up using the phone number of the hotel, so make sure you have the number for your hotel or airBnB handy. Once you’re finished a receipt will print out. You show this to the cashier at the front, pay for your ticket and receive your printed ticket in an envelope.
Tumblr media
The Changing Room
The next mission was changing into costume. I chose the X-HALL changing room because it was closest to the OSU Shopping Street, and was a reasonable ticket price. When I got to the location I just had to present the ticket. They ripped up the larger part and gave me the smaller tab to hold onto for re-entry. Then they directed me to their changing room.
It wasn’t quite what I expected. It was a large room, similar to my experience with green rooms behind a stage, and didn’t have any mirrors, dividers or seats. There were a lot of cosplayers getting ready in the room, mostly just sitting on the floor and using their luggage to hold mirrors and wigs. I am so glad I had my leggings on under my jeans because I would have found it super awkward to try to get them on in front of everyone while sitting on the floor!  The rest of my costume was packed in a box that fit in my backpack, so I pulled that out and got changed quickly. I didn’t have much issue getting the costume on, I planned for it to be easy to put on but I didn’t expect the room to be mirrorless and I didn’t know if my wig was on properly. I ended up asking a random girl if I could use her mirror and she let me, so thank you random girl!
Changing Room Tips:
There may be no mirrors (and no phones allowed) so you’ll want to pack your own.
There may be no seats
There are people and there may not be dividers
Change rooms are divided by male and female, so if you have a complicated costume you will need someone who can go into the change room with you to help put it on
There weren’t lockers in the change rooms, you will likely have to carry your clothes with you after changing
There isn’t any fix-it station or water, it is just a change room not really a lounge (but some people were just chilling there.)
Tumblr media
Changed and ready to go, I meet back up with Kevin and we try to find where the parade starts in the Shopping District. There were a lot of people around and a lot of cosplayers sprinkled throughout the crowd. Unfortunately there was no signage for the WCS and we couldn’t really figure out where the parade was supposed to begin, especially since cosplayers were wandering freely and didn’t seem to be meeting up in a specific place. Luckily the parade found us. We crossed the street and noticed a bunch of people were standing along the sides of the road with cameras and thought we were getting closer. Then I heard the sound of the marching band leading the event and we got stuck standing along the side. It ended up being a pretty great view!
Tumblr media
The parade looked similar to the Zombie Walks I’ve been a part of: the cosplayers moved slowly and stopped to pose for pictures before moving on.  Once the parade had finished I followed the parade and crowd to the Osu Kannon Temple where it finished, and they were handing out cold tea. From there, we shopped and explored the area. The temple was a really cool photo shoot spot and there were food tents and a stage with performers. Cosplayers roamed around and were happy to pose for photos!

(purupurupuru) (purupurupuru) (click!) (coo!) (coo!)
Happy Monday, minna-san! I hope everyone had a safe, fun Halloween. Now with October behind, November has arrived, and it’s the autumn breeze swaying the leaves. Be sure to rake your yard. Enough said, let’s get the show on the road. We have some goodies to share w/ you. First off, last week’s chapter seems to be looking up as Luffy is pushing back even harder to knock down Dogtooth, but he won’t hold back either as he’s gonna return the big punch back. Meanwhile, Sanji and the girls are still making the cake with very little time to spare. At the end, the sea slugs that were supposed to send signals on Nami & gang, are being relieved from their duties as Praline is singing her heart out to give them a break from their jobs. GUA! This is gonna hinder the plan to track the gang. Too bad! Ha ha ha! Will the song last? Let’s see this week. This past weekend’s episode has the whole gang in a pickle as they all got captured by the nasty kids of BM. Meanwhile, Brook and Pedro reached the treasure room, and now have to find a way to get the poneglyphs by distracting another sweet commander we finally meet, Smoothie. FYI: The lucky seiyuu who will portray Smoothie will be none other than Katsuki Masako-san! WHOO-HOO! YAY! She is known for her popular role as Tsunade from Naruto & Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon. GUA! She totally squeezed that girls from her last drop of juice! Yikes! Anyway, the boys have to find a way to lure her away to get the poneglyphs. Next time, Luffy lashes out at BM even more that he’ll totally escape, defeat her, and rescue Sanji! Can he juggle all three at the same time? Let’s see how the argument goes. Now on with the goods! First off, FIGURINES! More new ones! First, tomorrow, all arcades will thie awesome new figurine of Shanks in battle mode. Another awesome figurine will be this Glitter & Glamour of Nami in her Christmas outfit in red and black color. Just in time for any of you looking to decorate your room with holiday stuff. Wanna win? Get your coins, get set! GO WIN!!! Moving on, it has been announced that Hong Kong will be opening a One Piece restaurant this December so if any of you wanna try some themed character grub for the holidays, be sure to visit the place. Loads of spicy and sweet meat they’ll have. More info will be posted later on. Next, Thailand will be having a One Piece Run in December 17th. They give away medals to everyone who participates, and if you register, you’ll receive a free official t-shirt w/ Luffy in it. Next, Sante FX released another eye drop bottle designs, and this time it’s Zoro and Sanji w/ cool colors. They are still selling Luffy and Law as well. Sante FX is having a campaign where they’ll give out cool prizes. To participate, follow their Twitter page @santeFX_OP and retweet their ads of the prizes. Winners will be announced through DM. This only applies to those who reside w/in Japan. Next, a new game app will be released next year called OP Bounty Rush. A game where you can play w/ other players. No info on how will it be, but if you wanna keep track of it, we’ll leave the link. Last but not least, here is the new cover of Log Collection of the Dressrosa arc titled “Sabo” which has him on the cover. If you pre-order this, you’ll receive 2 free folders of Sabo and Koala which of course she’s included. The DVD box will be released on Jan.26th. Here is also the cover for the special episode of East Blue which has Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Ussop, and Sanji. The DVD will be released on Nov.24th. We mentioned before that if you order this, you’ll get a free wooden coaster of Luffy and a small colorful tote purse. Well, I think we covered everything. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach us out. We’ll be glad to help you. Well, that’s all for now. Tune in next week for more news and events. Don’t miss out! Kikko! Momon! Nicely done, boys.

From tattoos to hi-tech loos, your travel guide to Japan
Tumblr media
Arriving in Japan there’s a sense of culture shock. Everything is a bit different and however much you’ve prepared, it takes a while to get used to.
Language, signs, the people may at first seem unusual but you soon come to appreciate the contrasts that make Japan such a great place to visit. Teeming streets and crowded bars are matched by serene shrines and temples right beside the main streets as little oases of calm where people refresh themselves for the day ahead.
Go with the flow — make the most of your time here but find moments to be quiet and think about it too.
Welcome
You might wonder what sort of welcome you’ll get in this country which seems so different. The Japanese are naturally polite, friendly and welcoming people and the fact that their call for volunteers was many times oversubscribed will mean that you get a very warm welcome both to the Rugby World Cup and to the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.
READ: Remembering the shock of the century when Japan toppled South Africa
Japan’s ‘No-Side’ volunteers are expected to match those at London 2012 which set a benchmark for major sporting events. The phrase ‘No-Side’ is used at the end of a match and has become a symbol of respect, hospitality and solidarity.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. And to make sure of a warm welcome here are a few tips.
Do
Open your mind and your eyes and embrace the very different culture
Enjoy the differences — Japan is unlike anywhere else in the world
Learn a few words — as in most countries just saying please and thank you makes a positive impression
Be polite and respectful of different ways of doing things — washing your hands at shrines for example
Use the wonderful convenience stores — there are over 50,000 and they do snacks, coffee and all sorts of things you may need
Travel by train as they are a phenomenon
Get reception to give you a card or write the name and address of your hotel and any restaurants you plan to visit by taxi — English is limited among taxi drivers
READ: Why Georgia has rugby on its mind ahead of the World Cup
Don’t
Be afraid of hi-tech loos — a down-below wash and blow dry is amazing
Worry about signs — train, subways, major street signs are in English — but see above with regards to addresses
Wear shoes indoors where there are tatami floors
Tumblr media
Eat in the street except right by the stall where you bought your street food
Miss out on the experiences that await beyond the stadium — here are a few ideas
READ: Meet the rugby team fueled by 250kg of food
Go see
Apart from the match venues try to take in some quintessential aspects of Japanese culture:
Take time to visit a shrine or temple or both
Stroll in a Japanese garden or city park
Relax in a hot spring or onsen
Book a karaoke session in one of the hi-tech studios
Feast your eyes and your stomach in a department store food hall
Eat and drink in a neighborhood bar or izakaya they are much more fun than the standard restaurants, good as those may be with more Michelin stars than any other country.
Food and drink
While we’re on the subject you can always decide what you’d like to eat from the wonderful plastic food plates displayed outside or in restaurant windows. Oh and it’s not all about raw fish although sashimi is one of my favorite dishes.
Try set meals — many places offer these combination trays with rice, pickles, soup and a main dish
Drink some sake — you may need advice as there are many types. The higher the positive number, the drier the sake.
Look out for craft beer outlets — it’s a fast growing sector in Japan and very good beers abound
Eat noodles — ramen, soba, udon all delicious inexpensive meals with many sauces and toppings
Try to find some okonomiyaki — a kind of pancake cooked in front of you it’s delicious and fun
In the street takoyaki (octopus balls), yakitori (chicken skewers), gyoza (dumplings), dorayaki (pancakes), senbei (rice crackers) and mochi (sweet rice cakes) are all well worth a try
Tumblr media
Sport
The Japanese enjoy their sport. They love the success that Kei Nishikori and Naomi Osaka are having in tennis. Baseball is the big one with players switching to and from the USA major leagues.
They are proud that the Samurai Blue have been at the last six FIFA World Cups and they are mad for sumo wrestling and golf.

Rugby is growing fast and will become really big with Japan being the first Asian country to host the World Cup. It already has over 3,600 clubs and with 125,000, the fourth largest number of players of any country.
It’s appropriate that the first recorded game was in Yokohama in 1866 where this year’s final will be held. An early version of the game called kemari played from about 600 AD using a ball made of deerskin with the hair facing inside and the hide on the outside.

Locations
All the venues are in great stadiums and in interesting cities. Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido which hosted the 1976 Winter Olympics is a lively city with great shopping, eating and nightlife.
Kamaishi has a brand new stadium built as part of its recovery from the tsunami of 2011. It’s in the north of Honshu, the main island in a city set amid fabulous coastal scenery.
Tokyo
Tokyo is a city with so much to do and see it’s hard to know where to start but here are a few things you shouldn’t miss.
Go up the Tokyo Skytree and see the metropolis from the air, it’s breathtaking. Alternatively do the same from the Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku, it’s free and on a good day you can see Mount Fuji. Stay on in Shinjuku for the neon extravaganzas of Kabuchiko Street and the thousands of bars, restaurants and clubs in the streets surrounding the world’s busiest railway station.
Cross the road in Shibuya at the famous scramble crossing where 3000 people cross the junction at each change of lights at busy times.
After the hustle of the busier parts of Tokyo spend some time in the peaceful surroundings of the Meiji Shrine or in the north of the city very close to the Skytree, visit the Senso-ji Temple at Asakusa with access via the crowded and fascinating stalls of Nakamise Street.
Japan is famed for its gardens. You can experience these in Tokyo as well by going to the Shinjuku Gyoen which has a traditional Japanese, French and English gardens all in the middle of one of the busiest parts of the city. Other great parks are Hibiya, Ueno and the Imperial Place East Garden.
Kansai
The region south of Tokyo is called the Kansai and here you’ll find the venues in Osaka, Japan’s third-largest city, and Kobe.
Both are great port cities with excellent food, shopping — Osaka has the longest indoor shopping street, Tenjinbashi, in Japan — visitor attractions and entertainment.

Kyushu
There are three venues on the most southerly of the four main islands. It’ll be warm down here in September. Like most of the country Kyushu is very mountainous with the active volcano Mount Aso, last eruption 2016, in the center. Kyushu grows 60% of all Japan’s bamboo and they use a lot of it.
The venues are further north with Fukuoka a busy city with excellent shopping, eating and interesting museums. It’s full of sea air and green spaces, friendly, safe and clean.
Oita is on the east coast looking across to Shikoku and Honshu. It is in the highly prized area for hot springs centered on Beppu so don’t miss a chance to get in the hot tub. Oita is also famous for toriten — southern fried chicken — so try that in an izakaya.
Tumblr media
Kumamoto is a bit further inland and surrounded by mountains. It has one of Japan’s best castles, a former samurai mansion and the peaceful Suizenji garden which includes the old route from Kyoto to Tokyo and a miniature Mount Fuji.
The town has two extensive examples of shopping arcades which are a feature of so many towns with chain and individual stores, coffee shops and bars. The city had huge success with a bear mascot it launched in 2010 so you are bound to come across Kumamon.
Taboo Tattoo
You may not see many of these. Players have been asked, and have agreed, to cover up tattoos.
Japan has a long tradition of intricate tattoos but in the 1960s they became associated with crime syndicates known as yakuza and since then everyone else avoids tattoos or keeps them covered up in public.
Tumblr media
More than half of the hot springs and resort hotels ban people with visible tattoos from using their facilities. It’s a case of ‘when in Rome’ respecting local preferences when it comes to showing off your tatts.
And finally
It may seem weird at times and it’s certainly wonderful so just embrace the differences and enjoy a great experience of sport, cuisine and culture.
