To Regret It All
This colony ship was cleanest start for a new civilization out of any of Earth's attempts. Most included seeds for new societies in their designs; for example, the Hero's Journey kept many stories of old Earth alive, though the deterioration of their physical records means that most are now kept as oral histories or long-distorted fables. Some took the risk of cryogenically freezing their passengers and crew, though that rarely, if ever, worked. After all, everyone dies eventually.
To Regret It All, however, kept a strict divide between their passengers and crew, and replicated Earth's environments as closely as space allowed with rotational gravity and a massive tube-shaped biosphere. The second generation born on their long voyage did not even know they were on a spaceship, let alone why. The crew, once they ensured the ship would reach their destination - a planet as Earth-like as they could find - were frozen for any emergencies the ship's advanced autopilot could not handle. When To Regret It All reached its final destination, the crew was euthanized, and their whole section of the ship - including the autopilot AI - was ejected and destroyed. In this way, the civilization born of the Regret was something as wholly new as possible.
Of course, no one can escape the influence of their parents, despite the efforts of the Regret. Some believe that the passengers of the Regret are actually the closest people to those of old Earth, as they did not start over from a template or goal. They just kept living, albeit in a much more confined - and, well, cylindrical - space than a true planetoid. Others believe that the first generation of colonists instilled a certain value in originality and fresh ideas, rather than a true blank slate. Others still suspect that a certain ease of living permeated their early years, due to the lack of real danger built into To Regret It All, and the people's inability to truly explore their surroundings. Who is to say? We can only hope that the passengers and crew of the Regret rest easy, knowing that they did the best they could.
Though, after the autopilot and crew were killed, the colonists certainly had a very eventful landing.

"ugh when are we going to get an evil/corrupted avatar its so unrealistic that they'd all be good people🙄" well. see MAYBE that would be realistic. were it not for the very much so in-universe fact that the avatar is the host for the primordial deity of peace. like I get what you're saying but. there is an intrinsic goodness factor in. in this ONE case.

Now Playing ~ Losing Grip by Avril Lavinge Mystress
Mystress' first official gig
Spike: Stop staring at everyone!
Envy: There's just so many more people than I thought!
Axel: Nervous?
Envy: I mean a little. What if they all think we suck.
Spike: They'll keep it to themselves. Sadie's has a strict no heckling policy or something.
Envy: Really?
Cordy: Really, the owner will kick the ass of any hecklers. Especially if the band in question are teens. And friends of my friends. Heya Axel- you peeps ready?
Axel: We are. Just some nerves.
Cordy: Valid! But you're up so time to deal with those nerves head on. You're up kiddos!

I see Reid not remembering Garcia's name in this flashback cited as a plot hole a lot, but it makes perfect sense to me. Reid specifically recalls everything he's seen/read, not everything he hears, and as Garcia is brand new to the team here, it's entirely plausible he's only ever heard her name. The fact that he doesn't have perfect recall of auditory information is even a bit of a plot point in 1x22, where he initially struggles to recall the Parliament of Fowls because it's only ever been read to him.
I think there is some inconsistency on how good Reid's auditory memory is, but usually when I see this moment cited as a plot hole it's because Reid has an eidetic memory—which is visual.

every episode of lost (1.03 tabula rasa)
To relay what we heard without fully understanding it will cause a panic. If we tell them what we know, we take away the hope, and hope is a very dangerous thing to lose.

Ref Sheets for Moth.
He is a "patchkin", a derogative term for folk whose family tree looks like an encyclopedia of native species. Because not all species are equally compatible, patchkin are exceedingly rare, and usually seen as outsiders, regardless of where they go. The few that survive long enough tend to flock together in small villages, mostly inhabiting areas of the world that would be hostile to life.
Moth specifically grew up in the Shattered Plains, an uninhabitable piece of land that was the stage for an arcane war centuries ago. The magical fallout weakened the walls of the world in some places, and now the Plains are constantly invaded by otherworldy armies.
Between Moth's heritage and his childhood in the magical equivalent of a nuclear testing site, his body is somewhat unstable. He learned how to deal with most side effects though, and can now willingly alter some aspects of his physical form. He can turn skin to scales or hair into armor, can grow extra limbs or a tail, and even some rudimentary wings (though they are only for show, he can't figure out how to make feathers)
Aside from the shapeshifting stuff, he is just freakishly strong and heavy, which makes swimming an issue sometimes. Moth is also around 3m // 10ft tall, so he isnt really suited for anything stealthy. He usually avoids cities and large crowds in general for that reason.
He worked as a mercenary in the past, and is now an employee of Master Agnes, a powerful wizard. Currently, he is stuck in Neerfahr after an involuntary portal hopping adventure. But since his initial mission was to beta-test Master Agnes' magical guidebook to local flora and fauna, he might as well do that til he finds a way back.

You don't understand. My memory was lousy to start with. I mean, people's names, birthdays. I once forgot Mother's Day five years in a row.
What is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter?
Well, that's pi. It's three point one four one five nine two six five etcetera etcetera. It doesn't count – that's easy.

Tabula Rasa: Missing Scene
He should have headed right for the door, as that had been the plan, but seeing as it was one of his plans, he wasn’t surprised that she’d buggered it. Or that he’d let her bugger it. Instead of collecting the last remaining scraps of his pride and stalking out, Spike circled the Bronze again. Unable to help himself, useless to resist, because walking away meant leaving her here, and he didn’t want to do that.
Though Christ, things would be so much simpler if he did.
Spike shook his head, angry at her and himself, and stopped just under the staircase. Seemed a decent spot, close enough to get to her if she started looking around for him, far enough away to duck out if the reason she looked was to glare stakes.
Only when he next cast his gaze on the place where she’d been sitting, it was empty. Buffy had lit out.
Bloody figures.
Right. Well, let that be a lesson, then. Spike worked his throat, shoving it all back—love, hurt, indignation—and turned to leave for real.
Only when he did, she was there. Right there. Her eyes soft and wide, reflecting that quiet desperation he’d seen there every night since he’d stopped counting.
“Buffy—”
“Shut up,” she said, seized him by the lapels of the duster, and pulled his mouth down to hers.
And if only just this once, Spike decided he’d do exactly as told.
