look I'm as upset about Link's arm as the next guy, but at some point you have to admit that no you don't actually care if Zelda had stayed the Light Dragon or not, and no choosing to make the ending a happy one wasn't any more a bad writing choice than choosing to have Link wish for the destruction of Demise in Skyward Sword, or King Daphnes use the triforce wish before Ganon could in Wind Waker, or having Zelda and Link wish to restore Lorule in A Link Between Worlds. What you want is for Zelda to have a big dragon tail and horns because you're a furry.

People simultaneously mad about Zelda not being playable and also mad that she wasn’t more or less relegated to limbo for eternity is so funny to me. Also it would invalidated the whole point of her arc from BOTW, which was to learn to live with loss and failure and to move on with her life. Having her stay a dragon would have sent the message, “lol nvm your only purpose in life is to be a martyr lmao.”
