Marnie watched the car roll away, staring for a brief moment before turning back to see that he was also on fire.

"...I'm doin' alright. Your suit's...ah...got a lil' fire on it..." She said, pointing briefly at the flames on his shoulders. She'd probably be a lot more weirded out if this were anyone else.

"While the thought is appreciated, I can handle myself." She said with a sigh. That, and I don't need someone over my shoulder in case I have to do something messy.

"Well to be fair I am actually trying to be sneaky around ya. I just wanna make sure you are ok and keep an eye on you really." He beamed at her.

Various personal headcanons regarding Marnie and her kids (w/ @mouthymercx0x0 ) under the cut because I don’t think anyone else is too particularly interested but it needs to be put out there or I’ll scream.

- Marnie’s already had to raise her siblings. It’s the stereotypical eldest daughter issue. No, this has never stopped her from wanting her own and she has no issues with her own kids.

- She knows her smothering probably drives her kids away. She doesn’t mean it, it’s mostly derived from anxiety about what happened to 3 of her own siblings. She has to show them as much love as she possibly can before something has the chance to take them away from her.

- She stops her murder spree for them. Genuinely. She can’t fathom the idea of getting caught and her kids losing her over it. The only time that will change is if someone dares to put a hand on her kids.

- She does not show favoritism among her kids!

- While Connor is very clearly a mama’s boy, it absolutely shatters her that Michael and Megan distance themselves so much. She’s weird and overbearing and she knows that. It doesn’t make the sting hurt any less.

- Her kids probably all end up taller than her. She’s tall as it is (5’9”).

- She’s slightly more protective of Megan due to her past.

- Loving as she may be, she’s struggling. It’s not easy for her, but she won’t easily admit that.

Marnie was quiet for a moment, a slight huff escaping her from beneath the mask.

“Birds of a feather, or whatever poets n’ whatnot like to say.”

The blood on his hands didn’t particularly phase her. She’d seen worse out of him. “That gonna heal or you need a bit of patchin’ up?”

"Vengence will not END your suffering." The voice of wade was horse as called out from behind her in reflect of mirror.

Wade looked very different. Bandages around his face that only showed his right eye and his mouth. Pink scarred flesh showed under it all in the gasp. He was dressed in blue bath robe and his feet were bare. His hands and feet were wrapped in same bandages as his face.

"You will drown if you DON'T stop. The blood will run up you mouth and into your lungs. You already WAIST deep in it. You have to stop. There is still time. There is still time before you met someone fated to change YOU.

If you don't stop before you meet them. You will drown in that BLOOD and be lost in it. And what comes out of that RIVER of crimson gasping for AIR will no longer be YOU...it will be something ELSE...SOMEONE else that taken your form and is ONLY your PAIN."

...another nightmare to haunt me, huh?

"Then I'll just drown." Marnie stated bluntly. "If I cared to put an end to my own sufferin', I'd be doing somethin' different."

She glanced at him in the reflection and sighed, shaking her head. "I'm already destined to burn. I ain't never been afraid of that because that's a problem for future Marjorie Thatcher, not me."

There was a moment of quiet as she stared at him in the reflection before pulling her own mask off.

"I've bathed in that river more times than I care to count, Wade. I'll keep doing so if it means easing the pain of others."

Sleepy wade crawls over to her and hands her gem in shape of sunflower. "Ta-DA...."

"Oh! How pretty... did y'know sunflowers are my favorite?" She examined the gem a bit. "One of the best parts of summer, I think."

"You look tuckered out."

"I did kinda say 'take me to dinner first,' so I reckon we should do that. I ain't mind payin' for my half of it. I just ain't real familiar with the city, so it'd be your choice on where we go." She said, mulling over places she did know, but ultimately being unable to come up with anything.
