He staggers to the door, opens it and blinks. Rapidly.

It's 10 am and Karen's standing in front of him, a grand total of four bottles of wine dangling from her hands.

Eddie's about to say something but the words die on his tongue and in the end all of the air in his lungs just pours out in a big exhale. He feels like a fucking deflated balloon.

Karen tilts her head, presses her lips together in a sympathetic pout and extends her arms. The wine bottles clink together.

"On a scale from 1 to 10, how badly do you need a drink?"

"I-I can't," Eddie groans and rakes his hand through his hair, "I gotta pick Chris up in five hours and—"

Karen cuts him off, "I already cleared it with Hen, she can pick him up and he can spend the day with her and Denny, including a sleepover, so—if you want to—I'm officially giving you permission to get irresponsibly wine-drunk with me today."

"Okay," he sighs and then says, "Eleven."

"Huh?"

"On a scale of 1 to 10, it's definitely eleven."

I think I would feel less neglected if I did not neglect myself in the first place (bravo Einstein lol 👏). I also find it kinda scary for the future that I struggle so much to take care of myself at 27 (when I was a very functional little adult as a kid [except when it came to school of course] ). Like it is really hard picturing myself in the future, or being an old, alive, happy person.

Also realized I have this very #toxic #disgusting #twisted thing where when I feel distant from my partner I start feeling like I miss my parents lol 💀💀💀 !!!??? but then nothing fills the lack ? Looool sobbing and snotting on my phone 🤣
