this book. it was good, it really was, my attention span is just really short so i got bored quite a lot but once i got into the thick of it, i could not put it down. the ending completely threw me off. i didn’t sleep at all after that because i was convinced someone was watching me. and like the very, very end. i was hyperventilating, cold sweats, i’ve never reacted to a book like that in my life. i’ll rate it a 9/10.

this book was literally so good. it took me a while to start it because the first chapter was so long but once i got started, i finished it in one sitting. the book follows liz trying to impress her longtime-childhood crush when he comes back to town. and her neighbor, wes, helping her.

this book gave me so much. i was expecting an easy read, romcom, maybe a couple sittings but no. this book triggered something inside of me (and i know i sound so over dramatic but it helped me realize something about myself). also, I WANT A WES RIGHT NOW, he's so considerate, you don't understand. and as a girl who doesn't know how to talk about her feelings (so i don't talk about them) i would melt instantly. like when he says "i made you cry," on page 211, i think, i could not. AND HE'S SO SKFSKFSO LIKE TEASING AND FLIRTY???? (also if he was like blond, he'd be my type exactly and also keefe sencen vibes 🤭)

enough about wes, liz is amazing. i do kinda think she was clinging onto the memory of her mom a bit, liz was eleven. i love how she does what she wants, doesn't care about what people think when she wears her vintage dresses or her signature red lipstick. but above all that, i really connected with her because she was always in love with her romcom movies and i've grown up reading my whole childhood so i relate to feeling like nothing is ever going to be good enough. kind of, ugh what kind of review is this?

i also did cry a lot reading this, i don't know if its me or the book. (me)
