A goddess barely out of teen hood awaits for family she has never met. After murdering her aunt Ursula and left broken hearted when Eric chose another, King Triton decided to grant his daughter's wish and live in the surface world. She was still getting used to her mortal body, so she stood on a wet boulder near the sea so no other humans can see her mermaid form. The King called his man HERCULES, who happened to be a distant cousin of the Greek Pantheon Royal Family. She heard of him as a great warrior: kind sensitive. But Ariel is the type of girl to make men lose their patience. She hopes Hercules is not as strict as Triton or Sebastian since she was arranged to live with him in Thebes. She still holds a bag or treasures when visiting Eric's kingdom. So many utensals. She holds a fork and ties it with her red kiny locks as she waits for her cousin's arrival.

The mermaid shook her head 'no' at the royal's question.

🔱 → ❝ My father forbad anything connected to the surface world. I hid all of my human-made treasures in a cave within a grotto. I just learned the words of the land once I live with my cousin and his wife and trainer. But they are in the Greek tongue. Words are different in this part of the world....❞ ( @teenagedkraken )

"They are but I think that's fascinating in a way. They treat certain things so differently because of how much weaker they are compared to other life. Most krakens down in the kingdom don't wear anything either because they don't need too. But humans, by contrast, do need them." She couldn't help but giggle slightly at the thought. Here she was wearing clothes every day! Just goes to show how engrossed she was with human culture.

"Not quite. They can learn a lot through here but to become uh, a scholar they have to attend a school. Some places have the option of a public or private school but here in Oceanside we only have public." The kraken would wave to the person behind the desk before venturing over to one of the sections. She skimmed about only to stop as a thought hit her.

"Uh, not to sound rude or anything but...can you read the human language?" Probably should have asked her that before coming to the library.

It has been a while since Triton granted his daughter the ability to turn humor. Ariel regrets seeking Ursula in order for her father to take her wishes seriously. However, there are still unresolved issues of when he destroyed her grotto. Ariel still fears if anyone else would come and break her treasures in her new home in Thebes. Now that she is waiting, sitting on a boulder for her father's visit, she is wondering how to tell him about her romance with Jim.

She sits for hours with Pegasus in the background, twiddling her red dreadlocks in nervousness.

Ariel had her tail exposed and dipped into the garden fountain. Once she heard the mysterious stranger's question, her heart sank. She fiddles with her red locs and replies in her native language.

Magnifico's spell worked; the mermaid is able to understand the natives words. She heard one of the boys refer to Ariel as a 'WEIRDO'. People do see the princess as strange for her interest and ignorance of human culture. But she smiled when the dark haired girl with braided hair spoke to her. Ariel was able to respond in this land's language, but speaks in a Greek/Calypso accent.

The mermaid sense WARMTH and TRUST from the human named Sarah. It was proven once again that her father was wrong about humans. This woman does not seem to harm anyone, let alone a sea creature. Many beings in this eatery LOOK like sea creatures, but they are treated as people instead of food or playthings. Ariel continued to smile, still with a wet face covered in tears.

"Ariel, now that is a very pretty name for a lovely girl such as yourself." Sarah was about to offer her sleeve to wipe away the tears, instead though she caught Ariel in the hug. Lightly laughing. "Oh my goodness. I'm actually kind of happy you came into my kitchen." Sarah smiled and wrapped the girl in a hug.

Ariel's heart fell to the bottom of her stomach again. Any mention of the prince causes her to freeze. She could never hate Eric. She still sees him as a dear friend, but she wish there was more between them. She has no power like Aphrodite; she could not control love. All Ariel could do is hope he is happy with his betrothed.

🔱 → ❝ It doesn't matter. My father is wrong. The only one who tried to harm me was Ursula. Father would have never allowed me to gain a human body and live in Thebes if he was completely right. Eric was very kind to me. He just did not share the same feelings as I did, that is all.....❞

She still cares about Eric, but the princess had to move on and hope her feelings for Jim do not repeat itself.

Her heart pumped rapidly when she heard the name 'Jim'. She remembered that is what the other guards called him after they first met. Even her heartbreak with Eric, this did not stop Ariel to fall in love again. She fiddles with the beads from her red locs and smiles.

Her grotto was destroyed and she no longer lives within the sea, all of Ariel's treasures are placed in her room in her cousin's mansion. There were piles of rusted junk spread all over her luxury furniture. She digs into the piles, still wearing an expensive dress covered in dirt and grabs a bunch of forks.

The redhead continued to smile at the man, ignoring the defensive winged horse glaring at him.

❝ You need home? We fly. ❞

Pegasus understood what Ariel said, so he snorts and flapped his wings hard enough to blow the strong gust of wind towards the pair. The mermaid pouts at her animal friend and changes her speech to Atlantean.

❝ We cannot just leave him! What kind of heroic beast are you? ❞

Her statement made the beast turn-p his snout. He refuses to allow Gaston to ride on his back, so Ariel must think of another way to help the wounded human.

Gaston was thankful he could speak a handful of languages-- at least enough to get by in conversation. He'd learned Spanish, English and Portuguese during the war, all to effectively command his troops-- who couldn't comprehend French all that well.

This girl seemed to be struggling to get her own words out. A shame. But she could be taught.

She was so captivating he kept forgetting she was a fish.

"Gaston." He muttered, tugging off a strip of fabric from his shirt as he used it to bind his wound. With enough pressure on it, it would clot eventually. His shirt now barely resembled a strip of fabric with sleeves, not that he minded.

"Where are we?" He paused a moment before tapping the sand. "Where? Where here?" A simple question. Hopefully she could understand.

🔱 → ❝ I still miss my home. I visit Atlantica whenever I can. I love feeling the deep water cooling into my scales. Humans don't even go near the water as much as I thought. Father said they pillage the seas and hunt our kind, but--When I started living with humans, the only water that would go near is in this big bowl with this sweet-smelling bar. Meg told me not to eat them, though. Did you know that's the only time humans do not wear these 'clothes'? I am forced to wear them. I wish I can move around without them like I did in Atlantica. I do not understand why humans are so fragile about their bodies. ❞

The mermaid was grooming Pegasus and feeding him apples while she and the stranger were talking. She stops brushing the beast's mane and flinches once the other mentioned the word 'friend zone'. She is still learning human slang, but she knows the meaning. It reminded her of when Eric fell in love with another girl while she was in the surface for the first time. pegasus notices the princess's discomforted and leans his long head on her shoulder. Ariel pets the winged horse without facing the stranger.

The sun finally went down and the moon rose to the dark sky. It’s shine sparkled the moat around the mansion. The fans from the front gate were shooed away by guards. It was Ariel’s chance to invite Jim to her cousin’s home. No sneaking around like she did in Atlantica. She was honest about her relationship with Jim Hawkins. Phil objected, Megara laughed. Hercules allowed the boy to join for dinner while the adults were out. In the condition if the winged steed Pegasus supervised the visit. Ariel stands next to an alert Pegasus a block away from the mansion, waiting for her friend.

Ariel was a simple girl. She is fascinated by anything that is made from the surface, including fruit. She managed to eat half with the stem and give the rest to Pegasus. Her stomach was growling since she was in the middle of the crowd. She is not used to this mortal body draining so much of her energy. @multimuseforme

Hercules was glad when Ariel's grip loosened, it helped tell him that she was feeling less nervous. He'll show her a more proper tour later, this was just to introduce her. He helps Ariel up onto Pegasus, gently.

And of course, it goes without question that if anyone even attempted to harm his cousin, there'd be a lot to pay for.

But before Herc himself is able to jump onto the steed, someone from the crowd calls out to him and tosses him an apple, which Hercules graciously catches and hands to Ariel.

He waves goodbye to the crowd as he sets off with Ariel to his home.

It is difficult for Ariel to hide her mermaid heritage from humans. She is a young goddess undergoing changes within her powers. One of those challenges is her body GLOWS and grows ten times her sizes. It has happen when she visited Columbia with her cousin Hercules. Ariel wanders off to the ocean near a small town. She approached a large house where she sense GREAT POWER from. The locals referred to it as ‘CASITA’. Whatever the power is,  somehow it activated Ariel’s powers against her will. Her skin glowed a sea foam green. In a panic, Ariel rushed to the closes body of power and hid until she can control it.
