🪐      ⨟      a  deep  frown  settles  into  her  features  as  she  studies  her  car.   eleanor  has  always  been  hypercritical  of  her  vehicles'  appearances—   the  daughter  of  a  mechanic  &  well-experienced  in  the  shop  herself.   to  say  it  has  become  worse  since  her  accident  would  be  an  understatement.   now  that  she  knows  what  one  of  her  treasures  looks  like  nearly  split  in  two,   even  the  smallest  scrape  feels  glaring.   as  she  scrutinizes  the  scratch  in  her  paint,   her  expression  in  scathing.   one,   two,   three;   just  breathe.   she  coaches  herself  through  the  steps  before  standing  up  straight  again.   to  the  nearest  person,   she  tries  to  sound  sweet–   〝   you  seen  anyone  checkin'  out  my  car  ?    〞   her  fingers  twitch  where  they  rest  against  her  hip,   〝   think  they  owe  it  an  apology.   〞
