i keep thinking about Dottore who thinks himself an ‘abomination’, he can’t see himself as anything but a monster. Maybe one day the thoughts are just there, more so than usual, and then in comes you. You, who always smiles at him so tenderly. Maybe you don’t show that side of you often, but for some reason it just comes out more around him.
So, one lonely night you find yourself seeking his company, and he doesn’t mind it, at least not that night, it’s welcoming and pleasant at the time. You can see he’s unusually quiet, he’s not as chatty as he usually is. He doesn’t seem mad or upset, but he doesn’t seem well either. Usually you would’ve thought your words through a bit more, but it felt necessary to just say what you did.
“It’s a nice out tonight.” You pause to look up at the stars, taking in the cold air and clear sky. “Don’t you think, Doctor?”
Your voice is gentle and forgiving, a nice change of pace from the cruel thoughts rushing through his mind.
He looks up at the stars and glances at you momentarily, looking away before you returned your gaze to him. “Yes, it is nice.”
Dottore would probably never admit it, but having you there, even just to sit in silence, it was really nice.
