The WRGP was fast approaching, and like the good reporter that she is, Carly decided to try and get the scoop on all the known participants. Most people knew about her relationship with Jack by this point, so she got turned down by a lot of them probably thinking she was sent to spy. Even if she wanted too, sharing secrets about other teams strategies is not something her boyfriend or the rest of Team 5D’s would want anyway. They did not exactly like to win by underhanded tactics like that.

Though, in all her searching, one duelist did agree to let Carly interview them. It was the only duelist in the tournament who was on a team of 2 instead of three, and someone who apparently Yusei had an encounter with. Oh, what a scoop this was gonna be! Though, what shocked the reporter was the question Sherry LeBlanc proposed, causing her to be caught off guard. After all, she was the one who was supposed to be asking the questions not here!

“Oh! W-Well...no one’s ever asked me that question, except Jack that is...” Carly starts, trying to regain her composure so she could answer correctly. “I’ve always liked taking pictures of people ever since I was a kid so, reporting just seemed natural! Plus, I like telling the stories of people who...don’t get a chance to be seen, and those who work hard to achieve their dreams like my darling Jack! W-Why do you ask, Miss LeBlanc?”

“I needed you to know… you’re the most important part of my life.” He says, taking off her glasses so he can gaze into her eyes and gently holds her hands in his own. [[Jack, to Carly. Arc V verse, so sweet so sweet]]

After so many years of hard work, he did it. Jack Atlas achieved his dream, becoming the first member of Commons to win the Friendship Cup and officially become the Duel King of The City. Carly couldn’t be more proud of him. She’s been with him since his career started, supporting him from the sidelines when at the start, no one else would. Seeing him deal that final blow with his ace monster and the crowd cheering him brought her to tears. Though, those tears that she was trying so hard to hold in when she faces him and his sweet words now were not just of joy.

Jack winning meant he would become a Tops, become a member of the elite 1% of their society. He’d be going to a totally different world, and it was one where she could not follow. It’s why she is putting on a brave face for him. She doesn’t want him to feel sad about the reality of their fate. The fact she knew him at all, the man she loved, was enough for her. She’d continue to support him from afar, just as she always had.

“Jack...I f-feel the same way. I’m so l-lucky...that I got to be a part of your life, a-and know...I’ll always be rooting for you, Duel King Jack Atlas!” She smiles, the tears threatening to spill as she slowly began to try and slip out of his grasp. Their parting would be difficult, but she knew this was what it had to be. Jack was where he belonged, having been saved from a life of poverty, and she was happy she helped with that in some way. However, it was time for her to return to that life, a life...life without him...

What is your muse’s ideal date night?

Hmm that’s a tough question because I don’t think Carly would want something super big and grand like a fancy dinner (Considering how she gets overwhelmed I think the whole thing might be super awkward for her) Honestly, she could just stay in and watch a movie cuddled up to her partner and she’d be satisfied. Though, I could see her also liking just watching the sunset or stargazing. Simple soft things like that where the focus is spending time with each other. 

How comfortable is your muse with prolonged eye contact?

Carly blushes so darn easily by staring at someone she has attraction to that she’d probably cut it off early. Though, if she were staring at her s/o who she is comfortable with and they are staring back, she could probably stare for hours theoretically. 

Does your muse prefer conversation or just sitting quietly with their s/o?

Carly has a preference towards conversation. When things get too quiet, it can get a bit awkward for her, and she simply enjoys talking to people. Quiet time with her s/o is nice though, depending on the occasion. 

Is it easy for your muse to devote their full attention to one person at a time?

It’s as easy as breathing for Carly. When she focuses on something, she hyper fixates on. This, of course, translates to people. She could simply just be with her s/o in a crowd of people and just everything around her would melt away as her focus would only be on them.

Carly had accepted her fate the moment she vanished in the arms of the man she loved. She accepted that her life truly had ended, and that she was to pay for the pain she put others through, even if she was being manipulated by the power of the Earthbound Immortals. Just getting to be herself for those last few moments in the arms of Jack had been enough for her. He always had been enough. Why else would she have sacrificed herself so he could continue living, when he was willing to meet her in death?

However, much to everyone’s surprise, it seems that the wheels of fate had turned in an unexpected way. When the duel between the remaining members of Team Satisfaction and Roman Godwin ended, when Majestic Star Dragon’s holy light shone across the city, a miracle happened. Those who had been taken by the darkness of the underworld returned, both the innocent people of Neo Domino and the Dark Signers themselves. In particular, Carly’s form had floated down from above, like an angel, right into the arms of Jack Atlas. Her soul that everyone thought would be forever lost had seemed to have return, giving her a second chance. Giving her and Jack a second chance...

Yusei and Crow decided to give the two some alone time, both wanting to go and see where the other Dark Signers who most likely had revived would end up. Her body lay unconscious in his protective hold, small breaths and warmth slowly returning to her body. She wasn’t a living corpse anymore. No, she had truly been brought back to life by the power of the Crimson Dragon, the very being that initially brought the raven haired girl and the blonde king together in the first place.

After quite some time, with no noise but the breeze of the wind and the crashing of the waves on the shores of Satellite, Carly began to stir. The movements are subtle, but no doubt noticeable for the duelist holding her. Dark grey eyes then begin to slowly open. Without her glasses, her vision was foggy. However, she was close enough to where she could make out the figure looking at her, the figure she knew from anywhere.

“Jack...Is that...really you? But...how? How can we be...here...together...after all the sins that I-” The gentle voice of the woman is cut off by a sudden shift in movement, Jack shifting the position from a gentle bridal style to a full on hug of desperation. Carly’s own eyes widen at the sudden shift, along with the shaking she can now feel in his core. They convey more than what simply words can express. They convey the deep feelings in the king’s heart, feelings of forgiveness, relief, and joy.

She had conveyed her regrets before their last parting, regrets regarding how everything turned out. They were feelings she still carried with her, hence her complete shock she had been brought back in the first place. However, it seems like Jack in his infinite kindness was trying to help remove that burden, remind her that her desire to be happy wasn’t wrong and she was not to blame for committing all those sins. He was reminding her of her own humanity, something that had been taken from her by tragedy that had now been returned to her by light of a bright future.

Her own arms begin to tighten around Jack, Carly finally allowing herself to sob. She didn’t cry after their duel ended. She couldn’t at the time. If she did, then that would cause Jack too much despair, perhaps inhibit his ability to keep fighting and save the world. But now that she was secure with him, she could let it all out. She could finally spill out her heart that she had stopped herself from doing before. 

“I’m sorry...I’m so sorry Jack! I should have listened to you! I should have just stayed out of your life until everything had been settled! If I did, then you and so many people wouldn’t have had to suffer at my hands!” Her face then hides itself in his shoulder, the water droplets dripping onto the whiteness of his clothes that were still worn out from the battle with Godwin. “I know you’re going to blame yourself for what happened too, but please...please don’t! You were just trying to protect me by pushing me away! That wasn’t wrong! After all, that’s your form of love!”

She nuzzles him gently, despite feeling like she doesn’t deserve to. She feels as if she does not deserve him, not after all she put him through. “Everything that happened...was my own fault. I a-accept that, and everything that goes with it...including that I probably shouldn’t be in your life anymore...Paparazzi like me will just get in the way...and I...I couldn’t bare causing you more pain than I already have, even if it breaks me in the process...”

Carly finds Jack struggling to put on his coat with his arm all busted up, he seems to be growing more impatient as the struggle continues! Maybe give the guy a hand?

She had been at war with herself ever since she brought him back to her apartment. He was right there, right in her home and available to give her the big scoop she needed to kickstart her career. But...for some reason she had difficulty to muster up the courage to even try. Was it because he was injured, or was she having second thoughts about the whole thing?

The frustrated noises from the former champion draw the girl’s attention. Looks like he was having trouble with his coat considering his arm was still recovering. She couldn’t help but smile at the entire affair, finding it rather cute in a sense. Jack wasn’t anything like he always appeared in the media. He was a real person with real struggles just like anyone else. That was what she wanted to report on really, people who don’t get seen and are always doing their best, but reporting on famous people brought in more money. The conflict between personal desires and needing to put food on the table was strong indeed.

“Here. Let me help you with that, Jack.” Carly stands from her desk, moving to gently take the huge coat from him. It was a bit heavier than it looked, probably due to all the metal and detail on it, but she manages to slowly help him in putting it on. He really did look handsome in that, her cheeks flushing for a quick moment before moving to adjust it. 

“There we go. All done! Did...Did you want to go somewhere, Jack? Is that why you wanted to put it on? There are tons of people looking for you out there, you know.” Carly technically was one of those people, but she can’t tell him that she to sorta wanted to report on his story. That would ruin everything. “It would be probably best if you keep laying low here for a while. You can stay as long as you need.”

Blizzard — does your muse enjoy cold or warm weather?

Hmm...tough call. I feel like Carly would ideally like something in the middle (not too hot but not too cold either), but considering how she dresses, I think she might have a slight preference to chilly weather. 

Mega drain — what wears your muse out the most (ie work, socialization, etc)?

Definitely work more than anything else. Being a reporter is tough, you know? Especially when you got a horrible boss who treats you like crap, and you got fellow co-workers or people in the field who don’t take you seriously. The fact Carly still strives on despite her circumstances cause she's dedicated to reporting on good stories or things people deserve to know is amazing. 

Solar beam — does your muse have any plants that they care for? do they have a green thumb or are they prone to killing plants?

Oh, she don’t got a green thumb at all! I imagine she tried at one point to grow some plants, you know to keep her company in her little apartment or potentially try to grow her own food, but it all just blew up in her face. Probably got a little rock garden instead after sobbing for hours about how she killed so many plants.

Bonus: What does your character wear out the most? (because I misread the other question oops)

Her usual casual outfit that consisting of her orange vest, stripped shirt, signature glasses, comfortable pants, fanny pack, and almost always her camera carrying case. She seems to like dressing very comfortable more than anything else. Though, I don’t imagine she has a lot of clothes to begin with, especially considering what she wears to the premiere of Atlas Rising. A budget for clothes is not exactly she has when she is struggling as it is financially.

“Did you ever find out why they did it?” (( Sherry @ Carly! ))

“Well, I don’t it’s what the reason they told us was.” Carly says to the blonde, coal eyes looking down at her research notes. In all her information hunting, it seems that no one is able to identify who the replacement for Director Godwin is, not even most members of Sector Security. The reason the city gave seemed like it was prime cover up material, especially since Carly knows the city has hidden important information before. Most people still don’t know what caused Zero Reverse, after all.

“As to why they are hiding the new director from everyone, I don’t know. Nothing I’ve gathered leads support in any direction as to who it could be or why they’re hiding them. Godwin did try to end the world and all that, but surely whoever replaced him can’t be as bad as that, right? Ugh, it’s just been one dead end after another! I just wish we could find out the truth! The people have a right to know who is leading them!”

I couldn’t save you, i couldn’t even kill you the way you wanted me to (Carly)

The duel was done. The souls trapped within the Earthbound Immortal of the Hummingbird were free one more, and the injured body of Carly Nagisa laid on the dirt as the roaring hum of the purple dark flames resided. Pain surged throughout her core, but yet Carly felt oddly...at peace. Some said you feel that sense when your time has a come, a feeling the Dark Signer had been robbed of when her life had been cut short due to Divine’s brutality.

 And yet now here she was given another chance with the man she loved at her side, Jack immediately rushing to hold her in his arms. His hold was comforting, feeling the warmth from the alive signer. Carly felt as if she didn’t deserve to have such a gift at the end after all the sins she’s committed and all the guilt she harbors in her heart. Despite those feelings, here he was apologizing to her, showing that kindness and compassion that only Jack Atlas could deliver.

“I couldn’t save you, i couldn’t even kill you the way you wanted me to.”

“Jack...It’s not...your fault. It’s...mine. All of this...was because of my own selfish choices. Please don’t...beat yourself up over it.” The words come out weak, Carly feeling her time on this planet start to dwindle as the power of the shadows began to leave her reanimated corpse. Parting was such sweet sorrow as they said, but yet she is happy she got a chance to see him at the end. She’s happy she can die in his arms as her true self. 

“I will always...always be rooting for you...Now, do whatever you can to...save this world. I know that you...Jack Atlas the...the man that I...” Her last bit of strength allows her to gently stretch up, planting a kiss upon his lips for the briefest of moments just before her body gives out. “That I love...can do it....”

Her form is then molded into ashes, slowly being swept away by the wind as her soul is taken away from this plane. She is hopeful in a bright future, even if she and her beloved cannot be together again. The fact she got to say what she did...was enough for her, enough for the girl who would always root for the king.
