Meeting her long-lost cousin was exciting, Anna found Rapunzel delightful, bubbly, and fun.

The two princesses got on like a house on fire.

So when Rapunzel offered to braid Anna's hair, the red-haired princess agreed instantly.

So now Anna was sitting before her vanity admiring Rapunzel's handiwork. A beautiful four strand braid fashioned into a crown on her head and decorated with the fresh flowers the maids put in a vase in Anna's room every morning.

"It's lovely, thank you, Rapunzel!"

Anna was practically giddy with anticipation. Ever since Elsa had come back into her life, she had enjoyed getting reacquainted with her sister.

"I've asked Kai to clear your schedule for this afternoon, and Gerda is laying out your most comfortable dress, but for now you have a choice to make, would you prefer to travel by sleigh or horseback?"

“I have a big surprise.” (from Anna)

Excitedly, Elsa jumped up at her sister's voice. No one could make her her day brighter and better like her sister could. All it took was a sound of her voice and whatever was on her mind or bothering her would melt away into the background.

"Oh, what is it?" Elsa asked as she flicked her braid off her shoulder, hurriedly shuffled her documents back into a desk drawer for later review, and hurried to Anna's side.

Elsa frowned for a moment. "Oh, wait..." It wouldn't be a surprise if she told her. "Can I have a hint at least?"

Anna loved traveling, seeing new places beyond Arendelle, and experiencing the world was thrilling after a life behind the gates.

But traveling by sea gave Anna pause, reminding her of another queen of Arendelle lost to the waves.

But Anna had done it she had made it across the sea to show that the alliance between the two kingdoms was strong.

Now walking along the shore, Anna didn't expect to see the young queen gazing out at the water.

"Your Majesty, have you been looking for me? I'm sorry, I didn't realize how long I'd been gone."

Anna lit up at the compliment. She was so glad that Elsa liked her dress, not that Anna would have worn something outlandish and garish to her sister's coronation. But it was still nice to know that Elsa approved.

"Oh yes, I am having an amazing time!" Anna said, today had been the most fun she'd had in years. There were so many people, and Elsa was talking to her. How could this day get any better?

FOR A MOMENT, SHE DIDN'T REGISTER her sister's words. The thrum of the crowd on the other side of the curtain held her entire attention, Kai's desccription of what it would be like having done nothing to calm her nerves. It would be some time before they were to be announced, the guests being allowed to filter naturally from the chapel to the great hall. But still she stood, ready, hardly even noticing she was no longer alone.

"Hm?"

Her head turned to look at Anna. She had never seen her sister look so happy as she had that day. An early riser at the best of times, Elsa was a little shocked she didn't have deep bags under her eyes from the lack of sleep she'd had the night before. But it had given her a chance to see at least a little of the ruckus her younger sister was causing in the hours before the coronation.

Now her cheeks flushed at the kind words, the heat as obvious to her as the pink would be to anyone looking.

Smoothing her hands over the skirts, she nodded, a little shyly. It had been Gerda who had suggested it. It was Gerda who kept their parents' room pristine, ready for when Elsa would eventually take it for her own. She had seen the dress her mother had once worn to their father's coronation and suggested altering it for Elsa's own. It felt a little like having a piece of both their parents with her.

"Yes, it is -- thank you," she said, offering what she hoped Anna could see was a genuine -- if slightly anxious -- smile. She wanted to express the radience that seemed to be glowing from her sister without it sounding like a mere pleasantry in return for the compliment. "I didn't know what to expect of your dress from the descriptions but it fits you perfectly. You look lovely." A brief beat. "Are you having a good time? So far, I mean."

"I can imagine, but now the hard part is over!" Anna said brightly, the rest of the evening would be dancing and eating delicious food. She hoped Elsa would be able to relax and enjoy herself the way Anna was.

"You look amazing, by the way, I don't think I've had a chance to tell you today."
