Because I met Springtrap after, well, he became Springtrap, he’s pretty much a rotting golden suit with a corpse inside. He didn’t even have to show me, it smelled bad enough to notice.

After a shift at Fazbear’s Fright, I realized that the "animatronic” wasn’t really looking to hurt me, but to steal my keys. The fact that the cameras seemed to show it arguing with itself had me intrigued, too, so I managed to lure them into the office and be able to speak with them.

(It was a bit awkward, holding a chair in case my suspicions of them being reasonable were wrong, but hey, my guard went down soon enough.)

Springtrap as a whole has a good cop/bad cop dynamic with himself. Mike’s the bad cop, Springbon’s the good cop, in the loosest of terms. They have a good relationship, though, and as long as I’m working in Fazbear’s Fright, they’re going to be safe, even as I do the footwork to find Mike’s dad.

Mike and Springbon don’t know why Springbon’s sentient. Springbon’s confirmed he doesn’t have the soul of a kid in him, having his own personality and thoughts.

Mike generally controls their shared body most of the time, but sometimes Springbon will take over.

Mike used to be a detective looking into the Fazbear murders. He was convinced by his dad to go to Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rental, though, and...well...it wasn’t pretty.
