An anatomy and lighting practice that turned into Ichiji! 😊❤️🎇✨🔥 I’ve been really inspired by @dannymans66 lately so I’ve got #1 on the mind.

So I jokingly shared the lineart for this piece with my friend and said that it looked like a page from a coloring book and the idea humored me so much that I decided to hold a competition. I’ll give you all TWO WEEKS (ending June 4th 2024 at 23:59 EST) to color this picture of Ichiji using the blanks provided below and submit your illustrations here on tumblr with the tag #ichijirecolor (and it’s probably best if you @ me as well @silkentine). I’ll judge all the submissions (with the help of my unbiased mom) and the one that I like the best* will receive a free commission from yours truly :) anything you want!!! Feel free to color outside the lines, add stuff to the illustration, use the “wrong” colors, print it out and color it traditionally, whatever floats your snail-boat! 🐌 The only requirement is that my original illustration is included in some way (it doesn’t even have to look like Ichiji at the end, I suppose!)

*If my first place winner declines the prize or fails to respond with a week of the announcement, I’ll move on to the second place and so on and so forth.

Below the Read More, I’ve provided two versions of the lineart with and without the tattoo. Also, they are all 1526x2048 pngs either with a white background or no background at all. To color using a white background, place it as your top layer and set it to a Multiply blending mode, then you can add colors on a layer below without having to fuss with the lineart or delete the background. I’m not going to check if you keep the original size or ratio of the images; I like to work really big, so feel free to compress it if necessary. Feel free to move the watermark around, and it would delight me so if you added yours alongside mine!

so. sniffles and cam are dating, right? but actually not really. they've never really discussed it, because cam is somehow still in denial and saying it makes it real in his mind. if he and sniffles just do things that people that are dating do but never specify what they are, then they're not really queers, right?

cam and sniffs have been kinda together for YEARRS. like I'm talking since they were 12 or 13 and cam defended sniffs to some bullies in his logical but a bit too blunt cam way. like, "so what if he's loud, it's not like he's doing it on purpose. i bet he hates being annoying just as much as you. right, spaz?" and sniffs is like. uhh thank you but that's not my name... that's just what they call me... and cam does not hear him at all because he has moved on and is now Paying Attention. after this, cam keeps being weirdly nice but also mean and sniffs is just rlly confused by this guy and also?? kinda thankful for him??? so he keeps making attempts to approach cam but failing because cam is very focused on only one thing all of the time and sniffs is kinda unsure of himself so he's not very loud or persistent. eventually, though, when cam is giving the bullies a talking to, sniffs manages to catch cam's attention and they just. Click.

they're fast friends from then on, because they just get each other. neither of them are too much for each other, and neither feels as if they are better or cooler, they're just... comfortable. cam is roommates w charlie, so he tries to avoid his dorm as much as possible for his own sanity, and sniffs doesn't have a roommate, because they kept complaining about his machines and breathing and sicklyness and snoring. cam doesn't really care about this, though, so he spends most of his free time in sniff's room studying. he likes it much better than the library.

at some point, cam begins camping out in sniff's room overnight, because every time he returns to his dorm charlie just teases him about being a nerd and boring and wasting his life. he also likes setting up traps in cam's bed, with what little supplies he has. to cam, his room is a warzone. he finds it better to just avoid.

one too many nights, cam and sniffs wake up tangled in each others' limbs, somehow. cam is always very stiff, both when he's going to sleep and as soon as he awakens, but it seems that his body (or sniff's restless sleeping) has a mind of its own. cam's very awkward about it every time, but eventually he begins to enjoy the routine. sniffs communicates in light touches, resting hands, and shared silence, and that is exactly what cam craves.

yadda yadda yadda, study dates (cam cross legged on the floor, sniffs with his legs dangling on the bed above him) and secret meetups and heart-to-hearts become v common, and they kinda-unnoficially date. sniffs will sit beside cam and rest his foot on cam's as he works, and he almost won't notice, but he'll always start to work much better with something to ground him. cam will start sitting by sniffs at lunch, until, for unsaid reasons, cam announces that it is "too risky" and that sniffs should come sit by him with the other guys as well. "they'll love you, i promise," he says, as if it is a common fact, and as though sniffles' hands do not begin to tremble at the implications.

the rest of the poets go "haha, i wonder what cam's bribing him with to be his friend" and that is that. they don't seem to notice cam's oddly protective behavior, or perhaps they do, and choose not to comment on it, as to not alienate him. they all know how cam struggles with vulnerability.

uhh. Anyways. they are soooo real and true to me and i might add more to this later but it is sooo fucking long. so. clavi out :3
