She'd not fed since that night she killed Alden. A fear ate at her mind that she'd lose control again, that she'd enjoy it and fall further into a monstrosity. But there is danger in avoiding the inevitable for so long and she looked about as terrible as she felt. They had entered the city of Iriaebor only the day before and hunting for animal prey would prove difficult. As night fell, the party had found an inn and with enough gold were able to procure separate rooms. As Dronia and Karlach settle in for the evening, the tiefling asks the question that she knew was coming. Her condition has grown difficult to hide, even passersby would stare at the woman with the vibrant red eyes and sickly bruising around her eyes.

"Karlach..." Protesting seems like it would do no good as the tiefling moves closer to sit beside her, moving her hair to the side. The engine was stable now, she should be safe to feed from, and Karlach outclasses her in strength. If things went wrong there is no reason to believe she couldn't pull her off. Dronia sighs, her heart pounding a steady rhythm in her chest, loud and unforgiving. This is far from something she wants but she knows if she goes any longer without blood, her body would demand it one way or another. And it would be violent. "Stop me... if it gets too much." The archer shifts, moving to sit across Karlach's lap. As she leans in, smelling the blood beneath the skin, and hearing the thrum of the engine, she sighs. Lips pull back, teeth brush against the waxy texture of Karlach's skin, and she presses them into the flesh. The skin splits giving way to the blood contained beneath and Dronia's body tenses as she wraps her arms around her love, taking her blood slowly at first, trying not to overwhelm either of them.

Karlach tastes sweeter than she's used to, and that thought almost scares her. Just as much as the low rumble of a growl against her skin that escapes her mouth does.

Dronia sinks into the softly woven seat, a nice reprieve from the wooden stools and stone benches throughout the city. If she ever had to live in the city, she could at least live in a place like this, higher up, not as deep in the sounds of the bustling city. Just her, Karlach, and maybe an animal or two to keep them company.

Not even out of the thick of it and dreaming of a future that isn't even promised.

Dronia's eyes watch her from the side, a little girl lifting the edges of her lips. Of course, Karlach knows she's trying to tease her, but who could blame her when she has such cute little reactions to it? Dronia feels more comfortable in her intimacy, her old self is starting to shine through more.

"I could make a comment about your choice of words..." she pauses, taking another sip of her tea before setting it down and leaning over the arm of her chair to be closer to Karlach, "but, you've been plenty slick. I'm just getting better at reading you." And understanding her new talents.

it's even the fact that dealing with all this together is infinitely better than dealing with it all alone. even if they don't get alone time or they're run ragged with stopping all this shit -- at least it's with dronia. there's so much ahead of them.

... so if they could stop the world, they wouldn't start it again. that's just never been an option.

karlach leans all the way back in her chair , setting the tea down , all with this surprised huff. one arm raises , resting behind her head. the huff is long , lips make a 'pbft' sound. all of that turns into a pleasant , little smile though.

" so you're telling me i haven't been slick? "

Karlach’s just pressing the back of her hand to Dronia’s cheek. Smile wide and big. Of course Dronia gets stabbed in the back without Karlach here to watch it. She supposed to be protecting her (she can’t if she’s dead). Karlach hums a tune.

The months since defeating the Netherbrain had not been kind to Dronia. With Karlach temporarily going her separate way, promising to return to her once she took care of one last thing, Dronia had set off to gather allies in her revenge against Demasc Volkar. It... hadn't gone quite as planned, the darkness she had battled against since Caius' death had been steadily grasping her heart, and without Karlach, she felt like she was fighting it alone. She had her new companions, they were good allies and caring, but they weren't Karlach.

Once they had arrived back in Cormyr, Alden had made his big return from the supposed dead. The fucking coward had been the one to sell Caius and the others out, telling Demasc where everyone lived and in exchange, being given the power of a vampire spawn and the ability to live. It wasn't pretty when Dronia confronted him on her own, the battle turning vicious and ending with Dronia latched on to his throat, draining him of his blood so he could know how she had felt that night. So lost to her curse she was, she didn't even feel Alden's knife as it was plunged into her back again and again and again until the others caught up with her and had to pull her off of him. Alden was dead and Dronia was weak but practically feral.

That was days ago.

And all that time she had flitted in and out of a troubled sleep while her body worked to heal itself. Vampire spawn blood didn't heal like mortal blood did. In the time that she was recovering her mind keeps returning to Karlach. She said she'd return, she said would. But she only comes in her dreams. Tonight's felt especially vivid, she can hear her humming, feel her hand brush against her cheek. No... no, she actually feels that familiar hand. Red eyes slowly crack open, bloodshot and tired, but not harsh. Not for her. As her vision focuses she sees her. She's really here, she kept her promise.

"...Karlach?"

well there you have it… draven finally broke up with gale, (i mean he was "with" astarion first but technicalities) after getting as many gale kisses in as possible. he finally spoke with astarion after avoiding him for the longest time, cause he knew astarion would be asking about his new ‘lover’. that shit was such a difficult choice. I was all for him to be with gale 'till the end, but alas… no, the silly elf took over the silly wizard. The way astarion hides/plays off the jealously but then also the excitement. honestly… draven wishes he could be with both, but astarion doesn’t want to be in a triangle with gale nor would gale want to share. what’s a half wood elf to do again pulled between both sides 😔 look at hiiiiiiiiisss face ahh what did i do

i see you back there astarion, smiling at him ....this was after having last gale smooches, and before sending him back to camp to swap him out for minthara. i blame moonrise

hi Emma!! thank you for the opportunity to talk about my two idiots 🥰 except for the battle question, these are all about Eve and Astarion's relationship post-canon, since that's what I've been writing recently. the questions are from this post

🥂 | what would happen if they got drunk together if this happens at a public place, say, a tavern, they would make some big dramatic scene to start a brawl, then slip away and watch the chaos unfold. 

at home, they would start coming up with weird challenges for each other or just do a bunch of competitions like an arm-wrestling match, or a breath holding contest—do you see an issue with that last idea? well, Eve wouldn’t, in her state. I think Astarion would be very convincing and he would dramatically huff out air only a second after she would. and then maybe half an hour later she would suddenly remember that her man is undead and she would accuse him of cheating and he would find it hilarious how long it took her to realise that.

 🏹 | how they would fight together in a battle ok so assuming their friends are there too and it's not just the two of them: Eve (a monk) is in the midst of things alongside Lae'zel and Karlach, punching and kicking her way through their enemies, while Astarion sticks to ranged attacks from the shadows. but even though they're not near, they are always trying to stay aware of the other's situation—so that if things get out of control, Astarion is ready to shoot an arrow at someone who attacks Eve, and she is ready to Misty Step over to him and strike anyone who gets too close.

 🎨 | their favourite activity to do together I think they're still figuring that out! but basically, they love to try new things together. in a way, they are both building their lives anew, so they’re seeking out these experiences they've never had and trying to figure out what they enjoy. so it's less about any specific activity and more about just exploring what life has to offer together 💕

 💌 | a love note from one to the other any love note between these two would probably be deeply unserious. example (from Astarion to Eve): "have a lovely, day my sweet! turn over for a surprise..." *turns the note over* "just try not to think about how good it felt to [insert absolute filth] this morning ❤️ love, A." and the bastard slips it into Eve's coin purse before she goes on her errands run, so she pulls it out in front of some random merchant as she's trying to pay for stuff. and at first she sees it and she's like "oh this is so sweet :)" and then turns it over and instantly gets so flustered that she drops the note. the merchant bends down to pick it up because they want to help, and she just panics and shoots a lil fire bolt to burn it before they can read it. (I did not mean for this answer to turn into a whole scene, but do you see the vision? 😅)

Kethric made them realize their relationship w their parents was abnormal. He makes them sad. They hate him.

Sebastian is. Probably their most interesting non f/o relationship bc. They are fully convinced he fucking hates them. They'd hate them in his shoes. But he's just like ??? Do they hate me why do they always hide from me

Oh my god. Astarion and Theil have constant friction because Theil hates that Astarion can be overprotective, Astarion hates Theil's naieve nature, they both hate how selfish the other can be... they're a mess.

🥀: favorite thing about your ship?

I love that Jaheira balances out the chaos Astarion causes for Theil. Even if it means Astarion and Jaheira argue sometimes

Dronia placed the hay bale down in the stable, her attention turning to her fiance with a curious expression. Oh, they're on the topic of guests already. Were things really moving so quickly? The very idea of it is exciting. There are so many friends, new and old, she would love to invite, including everyone they traveled with on their quest against the Absolute. Well, everyone who could make it. Halsin included. He was a kind giant of a man, not the typical ring bearer but she wouldn't mind it at all.

But she pauses before answering, brow quirking in amusement.

"Karlach Cliffgate," she asks, faux seriousness laced in her voice. "Was that a bear pun?"

Oh my go—d😶 Draven has been attacked by Gale since meeting him and with his magic lesson he *clears throat* accidentally imagined a nice romantic walk with him… but nowwww Astarion has just propositioned him with Gale RIGHT THERE! Draven had just received Loviatar’s love and then after pretending to torture the prisoner and ofc freeing him.. astarion is all like let’s sneak away and indulge in each other ..

I do think Draven might have a bit of a crush on karlach too, tho 😶‍🌫️

this is so much fun… my Lobelia run was NOT like this, some of the dialogue I’ve been getting I did not get before..god I love this game so much
