The muse let out a soft, delighted gasp. "I'd love to, honey! There's plenty of stories I can tell and I would love nothing more than to learn about your culture as well. I may be a goddess, but unfortunately that doesn't mean I know everything." She chuckled.

The goddess was rarely ever in this part of the mortal world, but as a muse, she was drawn to artistic types who called upon her or one of her sisters for inspiration or guidance, unknowingly or not. 

And those who called upon her weren’t always human.

Oh, a naga! She hadn’t come across one of those in ages. And he was a rather handsome one at that. It seemed she had caught him in the middle of a song. What kind of muse would she be if she didn’t join along?

And so, Melpomene began to hum quietly, before gradually increasing in volume to get his attention.

"Hmmmm, well, there's your gorgeous hair~" The muse sang, boldly taking one of the dark locks and twirling it around her finger. "I don't see many mortal men grow out their hair these days. Which is such a shame, don't you think? I'm just glad you're not one of them~"

She found beauty in tragic or dark things, and this was no exception. And she had to admit it was nice to share this view with someone else.

Melpomene listened silently, out of respect for the naga and his prayer for his own diety. It was a somber, but lovely little mantra. And being the muse of tragedy, it was one Melpomene could appreciate.

Even so, she couldn't keep the grin off her face as Kalyan's melodious voice soothed her ears. Her instinct was right. She did find her next mortal to inspire.

Kalyan joined his hands, most blessed to meet and perform for a stranger divine entity who didn’t came to conquer but to enjoy what his land had to offer, in her case, music.

Being of the divine persuasion Melpomene was used to having mortals gawk at her. Whether out of fear, awe, admiration, or a combination of all three. And it never failed to amuse her.
