✨Yahoo hello mootie! It's yapping time (and maybe a bit more Casimir insight wahoo)

I'm also gonna be adding my other OCs into the uhuh second one bc I plan on introducing one soonish and the other two i just feel bad leaving them out lmao. (Honestly I don't have their refs finished yet but I might still introduce them all soon anyways hrm...)

💯 - 3 things ppl may not know about ur OC

🎩 Lewis

Lewis was an RSA student for all of around 3 months? He immediately dropped out when he realized the school was FULL of goody two-shoes, but also because NRC had also accepted him before and, well, why not? His best friend was there too, after all!

Lewis started the NRTea☕ radio show with James shortly after he transferred. The two had run a gossip column in the school papers before coming to NRC, but wanted to step things up a bit. Plus, they both wanted an excuse to talk about whatever the hell James's entrance ceremony was.

Lewis is actually really proud of his underclassmen (Ace and Deuce [and also Yuu and Grim]) for being willing to stand up to their Housewarden. Before them, he was often the one to pick fights and bite back at Riddle, but nothing ever really became of it. When those guys came around, though? Actual change occurred, and he couldn't have asked for more.

🌙 Casimir

Contrary to how he acts, he actually doesn't hate Malleus OR his posse (well. Except maybe Sebek). He actually holds his housewarden and vice housewarden in quite high esteem, but is certainly intimidated by them. What he DOES hate, though, is also how everyone seems to treat them differently, just because of their status. I mean- what kind of evil overlord is going to be cool with that?! It's a part of why everyone else in his dorm are considered by him to be "lackeys".

Without his persona, Casimir can come off as quite unsettling to some. When he's not keeping up his chuuni persona, he's often a very quiet guy with a habit of staring at. Well. Everything. He's like this emoji > 🧍‍♂️

His favorite character to portray in plays and musicals is surprisingly NOT the villain, but rather the hero who is loved by everyone or the comedic relief. The villain IS still fun for him, though.

🍝🍔- favorite foods and can ur OC cook/bake (+which do they prefer)

🦐 - Yuna's favorite food is mochi, specifically of the red bean variety, though she also occasionally enjoys taro or matcha. They're sweet, but not TOO sweet, yk?

As for her kitchen skills, she's pretty average at both cooking and baking, but she much prefers baking.

🎩 - Lewis absolutely loves shortbread cookies. They're a perfect snack if he's craving something sweet and sure, they aren't tea biscuits, but that's not a problem for him.

He's pretty abysmal at baking, but he can at least be somewhat trusted with cooking. As such, it's not really a contest what he prefers.

(brief New Guys Intermission)

♌ - Izem isn't too picky when it comes to foods in general, but if you asked him what he liked the most, his answer would be charcuterie platters. Perfect little snack or full meal, and easy to bring one if he knows he's gonna be meeting his "pride" after classes.

Man is also a banging cook, too. He's been placed on dinner duty in Savanaclaw on a few separate occasions because he's pretty good at it and likes doing it. When it comes to baking, though, please make sure all ingredients are clearly labeled.

🦜 - Rusul's favorite foods primarily consist of artisan breads (and occasionally pumpkin seeds, but he much prefers those fancy, fancy breads.). It's not every day you get to have a treat like that, yknow?

Scarabia already has a good cook, and thank goodness it does. Rusul doesn't know his way around a kitchen for the life of him, but at least he seems eager to learn? If he DID know how to cook or bake, though, I can see him enjoying baking a bit.

🐁 - James can be a very particular person about the food he consumes, however the one treat he can never say no to is caramels. He just. Can't help but fall for the small, sweet treats once in a while. They're just so delicious.

James can't really cook (and probably flunked his Master Chef the first time around so he had to take it again), but he's average-ish at baking. Honestly, though, he probably prefers making drinks to anything.

🌙 - An Evil Overlord should have an equally devious favorite food, right? That's why Casimir's favorite food is dark chocolate. It's sweet, yet bitter, and perfect in small quantities.

Honestly? Casimir is actually not a bad cook in the slightest and prefers it to baking. He won't really tell you that, though.

🩺 - Dr V.'s absolute favorite food of all time is (shocker) almond brittle. Bringing him a small box of it when he's substituting or chilling in the nurse's office is a surefire way to get in his good graces.

Never trust this man in the kitchen when it comes to cooking if you value your life. Despite that, though, Heinrich can make a pretty mean birthday cake. He's also surprisingly good at confectionery, which he actually prefers above both cooking and baking.

🌙Casimir

🎁 PRESENT - what types of presents would they be most happy to receive? are they good at gift giving?

Casimir would never admit it, but he loves receiving presents that could go against his image (for example: plushies [that still match his aesthetic], chocolates, etc.). He himself is not necessarily the best gift giver for things like a secret santa or a gift exchange, but he takes it upon himself to learn about and document things about his close friends so that he can find the perfect presents for them.

🌋 VOLCANO - how bad is their temper? is it a slow boil, or a instant explosion?

Casimir is. Surprisingly difficult to anger. Or at least, that’s how he seems to most people. His anger is more one of those silent, seething resentments that slowly builds up over time. If he’s upset, it starts off as like a simple irritability thing and can be easy to brush off as a bad day, but if left to fester, it’ll turn into being outright petulant and hostile towards other people until eventually exploding into a loud, angry, frustrated mess. And also the lights explode. There’s that, too.

🦐Yuna

💡 LIGHTBULB - is your oc a planner? do they write down every small detail or just wing it?

Yuna is a little bit of both, depending on the situation. When it comes to event planning, studying for classes, or scheduling out her week, she likes being more on the particular side, having specific things written out or set aside in case of emergency. For things like battling or going out with friends, though, she prefers going with the flow and basing her decisions on instinct and whatever is going on in the moment. It’s gotten her this far, so why stop now, right?

🔪 KNIFE - how do they react to injury / misfortune befalling their loved ones (significant other, family, friends)? do they put themselves at blame?

Yuna hates it when her loved ones get hurt. I’m talking absolutely detests it. And why wouldn’t she? She can’t do anything about it to protect them. She can’t stop whatever it is that’s hurting them. She’s utterly powerless, in the grand scheme of things. And that’s something that weighs on her heavily. Whether she’ll talk about it with you or not, though, is another problem.

🩺Heinrich

🔥 FIRE - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?

Heinrich has a bad habit of trying to help EVERYONE he can, from the most miniscule of scrapes to the biggest overblots, from a mild inconvenience to the world literally ending. It can be draining for him, but he swears that on his honor as an NRC staff member, he's gonna do the best he can, even if it's a thankless job most of the time.

🎩Lewis

🤥 LYING - are they good liars? do they have tells to show they're lying?

If you don't know him well, Lewis is a GREAT liar. He comes off as cool and confident in just about everything he does, even if he's completely bullshitting something. When you get to know him, though, you begin to pick up on the signs. For example, if he's lying, Lewis tends to dance around the subject by asking questions that might seem related, but actually aren't. He also fiddles with his headphones more often if he's being dishonest or avoidant.

James has a pet cat he keeps in the dorms named Lucretia. She is technically NOT supposed to be allowed on campus, but he’s pretty good at keeping her secret (<is an absolute neat freak).

♌Izem

🍃 FALLING LEAF - do they enjoy being in nature? what is their favourite outdoor activity?

Izem loves the great outdoors. How could he not? There’s something about feeling the fresh breeze on his skin as he runs around playing games with his guys or working out alongside his dormmates. His absolute favorite outdoor activity is extreme parkour (which, granted, can be done inside, too.), but he’s also quite fond of rock-climbing, and Savanaclaw has no shortage of cliff faces for him to climb.

🦜Rusul

🍀 CLOVER - do they believe in luck? are they lucky?

Rusul is like. A total lucky charm. He not only believes in it, but knows how he often tends to have really good luck. It was a rumor when he was younger that if he dropped a feather and you got it, you would have good luck for the next week. It wasn't true, of course, because he's just naturally lucky, but it didn't stop people from thinking his luck would rub off on them.

I’m gonna be so real I cannot possibly do every single flower I want to for everyone, so I’m gonna just stick to 3 or so. I can also provide full explanations for my picks if you want, but in the interest of time I’m gonna keep those shorter AAAA.

There are no bouquets for Izem or Rusul sadly, but maybe I’ll come back and give them some once they’ve been introduced and I’ve got a more solid grip on them.

🦐: The flowers I picked for Yuna include: Zinnias, the Gladiolus, and Bluebells*. The last one specifically I think would be a flower she really likes.

The Zinnia symbolizes thoughts of absent friends. I think this is a pretty self-explanatory pick for Yuna, since she’s so far from home. She also laments quite a bit about the people she left behind, wondering how they’re doing in her absence.

In floriography, the Gladiolus typically represents strength of character. Yuna, I think, is a very strong individual in a variety of ways.For example, honesty and loyalty are two of her biggest virtues, even when surrounded by a bunch of people who would rather act in their own benefit most of the time, which makes her stick out as a strong person in that way.

Bluebells generally symbolize humility and constancy. I was originally looking for something that symbolized endurance, but constancy is similar enough in meaning. Additionally, Yuna doesn’t like being the center of attention and often prefers to not have herself highlighted, since she already hates sticking out as a magicless nobody from another world. The constancy part, though, is more symbolic of how Yuna wants to keep going and persisting to meet her goals, even if she’s very likely going to die if she’s too reckless.

🎩: Lewis’s bouquet would have Ivy, Shamrocks, Daffodils, and Poinsettias. He doesn’t have a favorite out of any of these. His favorite flower in general, though, would have to be an Iris.

Ivy is a symbol of friendship, and that’s something that means an absolute ton to Lewis. I said Yuna was loyal, but LEWIS? If he considers you a friend, you two are like. Bonded for good now. Sorry.

Shamrock represents light-heartedness. Lewis is a very laid-back, easygoing, and humorous guy. All of these traits, though, I think are very fitting traits that could represent someone who is light-hearted.

Daffodils represent unrequited love. Do with this info what you will.

Poinsettias are a flower that means “be of good cheer”. My reason for picking it is similar to the reasoning for Shamrock, but also because it is red, and there will be at least one flower for everyone that matches the color I associate with them djhjdjsh.

🐀: For his bouquet, James is gonna receive some Hollyhock, Amaryllis, and Irises. He likes all of these flowers and he’s particularly fond of the last one, but his actual favorite flower would have to be a yellow carnation.

Hollyhock is a symbol of ambition and/or fruitfulness. I think that both of these are pretty apt descriptors of him, as he’s got a lot of drive (it’s about drive it’s about power- *gunshot as I lie dead on the pavement*) and determination to meet his goals

Amaryllis represent pride. If there were any sins that James were most likely to fall victim to, it’d be that, the cocky bastard. But even in a positive context, James is a very proud individual who is fully aware of his strengths.

Irises can symbolize a ton of different things depending on the color, but the specific meaning I wanted to pick for him was friendship. This is to match Lewis’s Ivy, since the two are incredibly close. Additionally, even if the two were not friends, James would not be the easiest target to befriend, but if you could manage it, he would be an incredibly strong ally.

🌙: For Casimir’s bouquet, he is going to receive some Poppies, White Roses, and Candytufts.

Ok so I KNOW THAT POPPIES ARE GENERALLY REGARDED AS A SYMBOL OF DEATH/DISLIKE. But also. They can symbolize Imagination. I think that all of those are really good picks for Casimir. Please listen to me please hear me out pl-

White roses are just one of many different roses with many different meanings. In this case, the white rose symbolizes charm and/or innocence. Casimir likes playing up being some super evil dude, but he genuinely has a heart of gold and is. Generally well-meaning and polite, even if the way he refers to other people indicates otherwise.

Candytuft is typically a symbol of indifference. While Casimir does care a lot more and is a lot nicer than he might say he is and/or does, he has also been mistaken for not caring in the slightest, should he drop his mask. I think the name is also cute despite holding such a neutral or potentially even negative (depending on who you ask) meaning, which I think is fitting.

🩺: Heinrich’s bouquet includes Geraniums, Clematis, and Coriander. I don’t think that any of them in particular would be his favorites, though.

Geraniums typically symbolize folly. This is Heinrich we’re talking about. I think it’s pretty self-explanatory.

Clematis represent artifice or ingenuity. Both of these are traits that I think would be rather fitting for Heinrich, since he likes to invent and engineer in his free time.

Coriander is a symbol for hidden worth/merit. Heinrich himself is a guy who tends to get underestimated and overlooked a lot, but he’s surprisingly very talented and kind, a hidden treasure of NRC, in a sense.

✨fuck it we ball more random OC trivia!!!! Lewis Edition (not reformatted bc I just copied and pasted from my OC word doc RIP 💔

- Lewis is twisted from the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, and his design takes slight inspiration from both the animated and the live action versions of the Hatter.

- His first name, Lewis, is direct homage to the author of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, Lewis Carroll. His last name, though, should be fairly obvious.

- Lewis was initially a student at RSA, but transferred to NRC halfway through his first year because he was bored with the “goody two-shoes” nature of the students at the former (and also because he would skip classes instead of attending them)

- He and James grew up in the same town and often share gossip with one another. In middle school, they ran an anonymous confessions blog for their peers.

- Despite going by the pseudonym “Chamomile”, Lewis’s favorite kind of tea is actually lavender tea.

- Lewis (+James) also used to be friends with a Rabbit beastman when he and James were younger, but she moved away when they all went to middle school.

-Lewis worked for a very short period of time as a barista at Monstro Lounge. This Did Not Last Long and he now has quite a bit of beef (and some blackmail as well) towards Azul.

-Its no secret that Lewis hates people who are controlling. what IS a secret, though, is that he secretly fears becoming incredibly controlling of others himself.

-Even though Lewis collects blackmail on other students, it never really gets used. He prefers harmless gossip anyways, but the "blackmail" more serves as mutually-assured destruction should someone choose to expose his identity as Chamomile.

ANYWAYS this is gonna be a long one so strap in. I'm gonna put it after a cut just bc of how long this is gonna be lol

DORM

🎩Lewis is a Heartslabyul guy who definitely thinks that he does not belong in HL. Despite this, he is, in his own way, a good HL student. Although he's not one for the rules, he IS incredibly loyal and dedicated (loyalty and dedication are traits that ive noticed are a big theme amongst HL but thats an essay for another time) to those he trusts and/or respects, even if it's shown in weird or unconventional ways. He has one roommate, a hare beastman, and the two kinda vibe and coexist together. They aren't like. Besties for life or anything, but they do get along really well and consider each other close friends (and also have a mutual disdain for the rules and the way they get enforced). Think like. ADeuce but if they were not as close friends.

♌Izem, though he is not present here yet, is a Savanaclaw third-year who I think definitely does resemble the dorm quite well. He's not (as much of) a jock like many others in his dorm, but he still sees the value in strength as power and being dedicated and persistent in achieving your goals. Honestly, if he wasn't basically the head delinquent in charge of a lot of rowdy students, he'd probably be teased by his dormmates by taking the Beast King's Tenacity WAYYY too seriously. He doesn't have any roommates anymore, but he used to have them in previous years. He keeps in touch with all of them, just because of the fact that even if they weren't delinquents in his group, he still sees them as members of his "pride".

🌙As a member of Diasomnia who feels oddly outcast by his peers at times, Casimir is very much a perfect representation of Diasomnia. He may not be as powerful as his housewarden (and his retainers), but he still has the potential to be a very capable mage, should he choose to hone his skills. He's also, as I mentioned earlier, a bit of an outcast amongst those in his classes and such, which is also something that I feel is very in character and fitting for a Diasomnia student (yet again another essay for another time). As a freshman, he's got three other roommates, though he does wish that they'd just move out and leave him alone already. They're already rarely around, and when they ARE around, he's constantly fearful that they're just going to tease him (they won't- in fact, his roommates are quite fond of him. Casimir is just... not sure how safe they are for him to unmask around oops). Nobody will tell him this, but in his dorm, Casimir has come to be seen as a younger brother figure of sorts for many.

HOMELAND

🌙Casimir is from a mountainous town in the Rose Queendom (because i didnt wanna make him from briar valley) known for producing some of the world's top musicians (specifically in a composition sense, you aren't gonna find pop stars from this place). When he first came to NRC, there were one or two upperclassmen from his hometown, but they were in different dorms, and he didn't know them (rip king).

UNIQUE MAGIC

♌Izem's UM is called "For The King". Initially I was gonna go in a completely different direction for him, with a UM named after Zira's song in LK2 (My Lullaby) that had a sleep kind of effect, but I decided to do something different with it instead. It's a very defensive magic (that is also a bit self-sacrificial if we're being honest here) that will redirect hits from the target of the spell to him. Think like the move "Follow Me" from Pokemon if you're familiar with it? Or alternatively like Floyd's "Bind the Heart" but for other people instead of himself. Anyways, yeah it's like that. He doesn't use it very often unless someone is going after his housewarden or his fellow delinquents because it's often a one-way ticket to the infirmary for him. "My loyalty is pledged to few, and no man nor beast shall sway this vow. To show my devotion I grant you this shield... For The King." there aren't too many holes that can be exploited on either end, unless you consider that Izem will only use it to protect those he trusts. Blackmail could be a viable option for getting him to use it to protect you, but it would NOT work in the long term (he would know).

🦜I don't have a name for it yet, but Rusul's UM allows him to perfectly mimic any voice he's heard before (so original, i know. i think its silly and fun tho). Makes him great for doing impressions of his friends! The only stipulation is that he HAS to have heard the person before without any kind of filtering/modifications. This means that, unless he has seen a VA doing a character voice IN PERSON, he can't really mimic that. He also can't mimic talkshow hosts or famous celebrities for the same reason. He CAN however mimic his dorm mates, which was very interesting post ch 4. Many of his dorm mates reported hearing Rusul repeatedly saying "NICE SHOT!!!" over and over again in his vice housewarden's voice, just because he thought it sounded nice to say (when ur evil berserker vice says something that becomes a vocal stim 😳). He was dropped on party cleanup as a chore for the next month. Since I don't have a name for his UM, I also don't have any incantations thought up either oops.

🐁James's Unique Magic "Goodbye So Soon", is a pretty convenient UM for someone involved in the theatre. It allows him to basically vanish from a spot (and teleports him a few feet away) that he has to perceive as a "trap" (e.g.: if he is on stage and needs a sudden exit, he can view himself as "trapped" on the stage, cast his UM, and magically disappear from view, reappearing backstage.). It CAN work on other spells (like "Off With Your Head", for example) but ONLY if the mage that cast the spell is of equal or lesser power/skill to James himself (meaning he could certainly [and barely] escape from OWYH if he NEEDED to, but he could not escape from Malleus's "Fae of Maleficence"). The incantation for his spell is not necessary (he practiced for a REALLY long time to make it this way), but the incantation is as follows: "I do hate to leave, but with time so short, I must say so long... Goodbye So Soon". The major loophole with the spell were stated earlier kinda (he has to be of equal or greater skill to another mage to use it to override their magic), but I did NOT mention that he does, in fact, have to be able to see his target location as well. Get him blindfolded and he cannot use his UM to escape.

TALENT

🦐Yuna is a girl of a couple of odd talents, but her main one is her skill on the piano. It takes a while for most people to appreciate/acknowledge it, but if there's one thing Yuna will give the Octavinelle boys credit for, it's appreciating her musical ability.

🩺Heinrich is VERY skilled when it comes to empathizing or sympathizing with his students' plights. Whether it's a result of his own odd upbringing or the fact that he has a teenage daughter, no one is sure. What IS certain, though, is that this skill of his is something that many students of NRC can appreciate, whether they want to admit it or not.

BACKSTORY

Not sure if I wanted to put these two together or separate but I think I'll do them together for the time being and maybe I'll do a more in depth thing at another date.

🎩🐁James and Lewis have always been close friends as far back as anyone can remember. Lewis's family was always there, basically helping out wherever they could all over their hometown, so even if James DIDNT want to be around Lewis, he would have been so anyways. They met when they were both around 4 or 5 at an annual event that their hometown hosts and were near inseparable for the time after. They eventually split for a short while, as Lewis was initially enrolled at RSA, but they were quickly reunited and were eager to spread the gossip that they could find (Lewis was particularly disappointed when he learned that he missed such an entertaining and crazy entrance ceremony).

It was odd to many people (including those at NRC) how such different individuals managed to become so close to one another, with some people joking that it's only because they have so much blackmail on the other that if one went down, the other would be soon to follow. The truth, though? They've just known each other for so long and are like brothers as a result, and that's all there is to it.

PERSONALITY

🦜Rusul is a very mischievous, playful, and conniving young man. He loves playing pranks on his fellow Scarabians (or his fellow NRC students in general, to be honest), and will consistently weigh the pros and cons of allying himself with various individuals. In true NRC student fashion, Rusul prefers to think about making the decisions that will benefit him the most in the long run, though he will make the occasional sacrifice to make sure it won't hurt the other party TOO much. I think of the existing cast, Rusul is probably a lot more like Floyd or Ortho, both of whom I think he would get along with quite well (he would probably go out and mess with other people with them for funsies). Despite all of that, though, he still will put himself up on the line if someone else is gonna get hurt. I think he would like to live by the "confuse, don't abuse" motto when it comes to not only pranking his peers, but also just in his daily interactions with others as a whole.

Bottom line is: as concerned as Rusul is with keeping his own tail in tact, he knows his (and others') limits, and will NOT overstep those boundaries.

Seven questions, seven characters (total)... Choices choices... I think Ill just answer each one and Ill probably only do 1-2 for most of em. Then it'd be a lil balanced maybe??? Plus I wanna start introducing the others in SOME capacity even if I don't have their refs done yet.

👕 1:

🐁: James loves... Everything about himself tbh. In his eyes? He is so perfect and beautiful and wonderful (and he is. I know his reference does not exist yet but TRUST ME ‼️‼️‼️). If he HAD to choose one, though, it'd probably be his face, as a whole. You can't even get him to be specific about THAT.

👕 3:

🦐: Yuna wishes she were just a bit taller. It's no fun when half of your friends tower over you.

📦 1:

🎩: Lewis never leaves his dorm without a pencil and notepad or his tape recorder. He's always gotta get as much juicy info as he can in a day!

🩺: Heinrich always has an ungodly amount of photos in his wallet that he never leaves home without. It's just how he is. It's like those dad wallets in cartoons where he opens it up and BOOM pictures everywhere.

🌤️19: I'm doing this one for everyone bc it's fun and silly and I love arbitrary assignments.

🦐: Honestly? I use shrimp for Yuna but she'd probably describe herself as maybe a salamander or a bat of some kind. Can be flighty as hell but also can be intimidating depending on the situation.

🎩: A fox, but specifically a very lazy fox. Have you ever seen videos of like. A happy fox chirping? Yeah, but also sometimes foxes are just very catlike instead. And I think that fits Lewis.

♌: He's a lion beastman but tbh I think he'd probably relate a lot to Possums? Like, definitely gets a bit of a bad rep but are also super helpful and carry their babies on their backs.

🦜: Bro would say a parrot and then just gesture to himself as if to say "obviously???". Like what else would there be to say for Rusul?

🐁: James would probably say something sleek and cunning like a fox (like Lewis) OR something with grace and strength, like a swan or a goose. He would definitely describe himself as one of the above.

🌙: what else would be fitting for a demonic overlord such as Casimir other than the most evil, most monstrous, most diabolical creature on the planet: the hellhound Black Labrador?!??! Bro relates to but also enjoys the energetic and loyal personalities of not just labs, but also dogs as a whole.

🩺: A squirrel, but specifically one that is hopped up on sugar and is way too high strung.

💓3:

🦐: Pre-NRC Yuna is definitely more flight, but as time goes on, she becomes more fight than anything.

🌙: despite his "fighting words", Casimir actually frightens surprisingly easily and is more freeze/fawn than either fight OR flight

🎩🐁🦜♌: All of them are slaying at self care

🦐: Yuna wishes she had magical abilities (obviously) but also she wishes she could dance like the princesses in movies she used to watch.

🎩: Lewis wishes he was better at singing. People who listen to his radio show love his voice, but Sevens help you if he starts to or tries singing.

🌙: Casimir just wishes he was better with social skills/talents as a whole. I like to think he'd be rather envious of people like the light music club or Vil on that front.
