“ You. Red hair, blue streaks. ” Claire approaches Sadiya, her arms crossed and her face as neutral as ever.

“Hm? Whaddya want? If it’s somethin’ to do with Kalim, that ain’t—”

Claire interrupts him, much to Sadiya’s irritation. “ No. It’s about you. ”

Sadiya huffs, “Fine then. What?”

Claire side glances in a seemingly random direction. “ …I know. ”

“Know what?”

“ I know you’re aware of my abilities. ”

Sadiya flinches, his expression tensing up before becoming irritated. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“ You’re different from the other students. For one, I am no longer able to hear your thoughts. ”

“What’s that supposed ta mean?!”

“ You know exactly what it means. You have been watching me. Rooftops. Hallways. Garden. You’ve picked up on the fact that my mouth doesn’t move when I talk, too. ” Claire slowly walks by him, purposefully bumping their shoulders together.

“Tch.” Sadiya clicks his tongue, glaring at Claire. “Get to the point. I’m awfully busy, yaknow!”

“ With what? Being Viper’s little henchman? ” Claire mocks, though her expression remains the same.

“You little…” Sadiya clenches his fists, knowing fully well that he can’t land an attack on her…even if he tried. “I’ll say it one more time. What. Do. You. Want?”

“ Simple. I want you to make sure the magicless prefect is safe. ” Claire crosses her arms, making her point clear. “ No blot build up. No fights. No bullies. Protect Shiyuu. ”

“Yaknow I can’t stop them from getting hurt from EVERYTHING, right? I’m not a god!”

“ I know…just…do the best you can, ” She sighs.

Sadiya frowns in confusion. “Why do ya even care about him so much anyway?”

“ Because…I knew him before arriving in twisted wonderland. ”

Sadiya’s eyes widen. “You WHAT?! Hey, where are you going—?!”

“ I’m going back to my group. ”

“You can’t just drop something as massive as that and walk away!”

“ Oh, I won’t be walking. ”

“What?—” Sadiya blinks, and Claire is gone.

He’s left standing in the middle of the hallway, baffled by the conversation that just took place.

“…whatever,” Sadiya huffs, mumbling to himself. He stretches his wings before taking off, only leaving behind a few stray feathers.

[Shiyuu smiles.] “My cat’s name was actually Jamie, believe it or not. Fun coincidence, right?” [They look at the ground as they reminisce.] “It’s one of the few things I can remember. She was very affectionate, and she meant everything to me.”

[Chase, noticing the silence, puts his pen away and walks at a bit of a slower pace. His ears and tail vanish with a small flash of magic.]

“Uh…did you know that all dogs dream? But puppies and senior dogs dream more frequently than adult dogs!”

[Shiyuu runs up to your party.] “Aaah! Finally, someone stable!” [they dust off their clothes before continuing.] “Mind if I uh…join you guys? I don’t have much, but…but I can fight!”

[They show the satchel of small rocks with a slingshot, and the broom on their back.] “I also have supplies if you guys need some…O-Oh, and I’m Shiyuu by the way! I-In case you didn’t know that…”
