A faint flame from a cigarette lighter catches your eye from across the alley. Shifting your gaze up from your phone you see the man who lit a fresh one. The rest of your shift drags with so few customers. What feels like an hour turns out to have been only ten minutes, and on and on and on. “He owes my boss a debt,” is all he says and then outs the half-smoked cigarette out on the brick behind him. He takes a step forward and kneels down to your level, so he’s face to face with you. “So, tell me, is he even in that shithole restaurant or not?”

The blonde frowns, “What if he’s not there?”

“I’ll give you his phone number and you can harass him that way, I guess.”

“Wow,” he laughs, a smile creeping on his cheeks. “You’d sell out your boss for a single cigarette. I can only imagine what my boss would think of this.”

You shrug and smile. “It’s not like Brad inspires loyalty here. Like you said, it’s a shithole. So, are you giving me one or not?”

He holds out the pack and you take one, his last one. “Thanks, now let me have a light.” You tuck it between your lips as he lights the end for you.

“I have to close up the restaurant, so if you want you can wash them off inside.” You offer, blowing smoke towards him. “Afterall, I’m sure he won’t say anything about it.” You point at Brad on the ground. You can see his chest barely rising and falling.

“Alright,” he shrugs and walks through the kitchen door and into the restaurant.

You follow him in, tossing the cigarette butt on the ground. The man is already washing his hands in the dish sink when you’re inside, so you lock the back door to start closing. “Should I call someone to help Brad?”

Before you give yourself time to ponder what kind of person that thought process makes you, you grab a broom and go about your normal closing tasks. Do you have a favorite anime or like a top five lists? -🍃

I’ll do a top 5 or 10 of what I liked in 2020 cuz I feel like I watched some good stuff and it won’t be much of a repeat from the last time I got asked about my fave anime’s

Beastars - it’s pretty fun to watch and it can be interesting to dissect if you’re the type of person who likes to get all critical with what they watch

Mo dao zu shi - this is the untamed but anime

Cells at work - it’s pretty much about the cells in the human body and their functions and it surprisingly helped me pass the science parts of my skin class with flying colours

Dorohedoro - this one is a cgi type like beastars but I think it works well with it and it’s story. It’s really entertaining & I know people will simp for Noi. She’s a big strong lady and I just found out that she’s 6’10 and all I have to say is wow 😍

The promised neverland - if you think this will be a wholesome story about orphans.... please leave the room and abort this mission. It gets dark and will make you break out in a nervous sweat sometimes but season 2 just came out so I’m waiting for it to be dubbed and fully released so I can find out what happens next

Hunter x hunter - honestly I don’t know why I used to be so against hxh when I was younger cuz it’s really good and I’m glad that my aggressive disliking of spiky broccoli headed boi Gon didn’t stop me this time cuz Kurapika and Killua are my fave bois

Parasyte - I don’t really know what it was about parasyte that made me watch but I did and it had some really cool fight scenes going on and I liked the development that went on between Migi and Shinichi during the run

And for funsies I’m adding in a list for 2021 even if we’re only in February

Banana fish - it’s a mafia/gang type of anime and I would recommend not getting too attached to characters cuz I’m on ep 12 and I’m in pain and I know there’s gonna be more pain coming my way

Demon slayer - this shit is so good I finished it in about 2 days??? The characters are well done and really likeable and the art style is very cool & distinctive. The fight scenes are dope and I can’t wait for season 2 to drop

Food wars - this shit is fucking dope but for the love of god don’t watch it by your parents cuz the taste testing scenes are way too hentai like and will make them question wtf you are into. Bonus awesomeness is that the recipes on the show are posted so you can follow along and cook some of your favourite dishes that were shown on the show

The tale of the princess kaguya - the animation style is done more like a painting??? Idk how to describe it exactly but it was a really good one to watch and I enjoyed watching this one

I do have a few more but I’m gonna be starting those after I work on my essay and force myself to finish it today cuz I do wanna get to a silent voice, whisker away, 7 seeds, devilman crybaby and perfect blue really really soon
